Please do not discuss novela plotlines or characters here and also please do not make offers to sell or trade tapes or DVDs here (People who would be interested in such messages probably do not read this forum)

Please be aware that Telenovela-world.com is a meeting place for people who love telenovelas. It has been organized by ordinary people for ordinary people just like you and is not affiliated with any television network, production company, or star. (In other words, its managers have no access to special items like DVDs, autographs or photos!) Also, any summaries that we may have are already available on this website, either in the archives, or in these forums. Furthur, since everything we have is already available here, we will not email you summaries. If the summary you want is not here, it won't do you any good to ask for it, because we don't have it.

1. MundoFox starts Aug. 13 nationally - according to its web site.
2. It is showing the following novelas on its web site:
A Mano Limpia
El Joe, La Leyenda
Los Exitosos Pérez
Yo Soy Betty (the original)
But only a few of them have an Aug. 13 start date showing and, as far as I can tell, El Capo II won't be one of them. (They're showing a dead character in the personajes part.)
I have some info on all of them except Los Exitosos Pérez. And what I have on KDABRA (is it really always in caps?) is limited.
We really need a new section in the Main Index given all the novelas MundoFox will carry but, as they say, that's above my grade level and Ben is swamped. So we will probably have to wait until September for a new section.
In the interim, we need to borrow a different category and the two obvious ones, I think, are the Azteca America section or the Foreign Broadcast section. I'm leaning towards the former because it is smaller and is a broadcast network (like MundoFox).
I would add the new forums (well, old one for Betty) and put "MundoFox" in parens at the end of each novela name.
I have considered using the abbr. MF so the listing doesn't become so bulky, but since this is a new network I think going with the whole name is better. (I also thought of putting the (MundoFox) before the novela name but that breaks tradition.)
Comments about Index Section?
Setting up a bare-bones forum (no LINKS, no pics) is fairly trivial. What takes time is setting up the links, not simply to other web sites but building the cast and summary files. And of those operations, building the cast/character file is by far the most time-consuming because I merge information from up to 6 or 7 different sources (the production company, IMDB, Wikis, broadcasters, etc.). It is an extremely manual process and usually takes hours to do. Very best case for setting up a forum, with all links, for a new novela is about 2 hr. More common, is anywhere from 3-6 hours. Worst? Don't even ask. And this is on top of all the ongoing novelas I'm maintaining.
So, my plan is this. By Sunday night I will have at least a bare-bones forum for each of the above-referenced novelas. Because I have zilch on Perez and must, therefore, do a LOT of research, I'm putting it at the bottom of the list. It will show up but probably with nothing more than the most basic of links.
I'll make those novelas with a definitie Aug. 13 date the priority.
El capo is part 2. They are very clear in their ad about this and it begins with a pre-estreno on Sunday 12 with a repeat of chapter one on Monday the 13 and two time period showings (they know it is their top show). They will have a half hour recap on Sunday for part one. The Perez show is the televisa version so it should have information on Televisa (Jaime Camil, Ludwika Paleta). They have it because it is a Telefe production. KDABRA (al caps) is a series only 13 episodes per year. THey are showing season 2 . (Season one played Galavision) They have been recaping season one and on Sunday the'll have a 1/2 intro to the story. Their 10:30 pm period is series, some of these are 13 episode series others are longer. Monday KDABRA, Tuesday, Lynch, Wed. Bones dubbed into Spanish, Thursdays Mentes en Shock, and Fridays Tiempo final (this has been an ongoing series and played the old CineLatino. They are also showing American Dad at 11 pm and then repeating most programs., with an unusual show German es el man thrown in at some time in the night. Locally they may be some infomercials and local news added. At 7m they show a Game show with M. Regil and on Sunday nights a cooking competition.
thanks Diane as always..
and what about "las Trampas del Amor"? starting monday they will show it only once daily.. right now they show it twice.
I may be the only one watching that one!
at least with a forum for mundo fox we can discuss the novelas that we are watching,
I've been to the MundoFox web site and so far it has no schedule. In the pull-down menu for its shows, El Capo 2 is not listed - although it does get a prominent display.
Although MundoFox is supposed to have a San Francisco affiliate, at the moment it either hasn't started broadcasting yet or for some reason I can't get it. Comcast doesn't even know about it.
So, can you tell me where you are getting the schedule info?
And re Perez. Yes it was a Televisa production (2nd remake of Pells) but apparently Televisa never created a real web site for it. There are articles but no web site per se. Uni's web site has only a very brief summary.
Las Trampas del Amor is now being shown twice, at 12pm and 6pm..no repeats!!!!
after Monday it will be shown only at 12 pm..
I've already checked, it will be after Perez that will be shown in the morning at 11am.
I'm liking it a lot, fast paced and great cast ..this week Mario Duarte showed up as Alex's former cellmate.
now the stakes will become even.
Although having missed the beginning episodes, I can't quite figure out what is going on. I also couldn't quite tell if it is a novela or a series. To me the difference would be a series would wrap up most plot lines at the end of an episode even if the main characters have ongoing stories. A novela has all continuing stories that don't finish at the end of an episode.
Since I miss the noon episode, no wonder I couldn't always figure out what was happening at 6pm!
BTW, they've been showing promos for news at 10pm in LA so Mentes en Shock, Bones en espanol, etc may not be on here unless you get the national feed.
you can watch it on youtube ,I missed the first episode and did watch it on youtube ..
I think it has 84 or 86 episodes...
yes the plot is complicated but I'm getting into the story now and understanding why he was in prison in the first place,he did it to save his father !! I was puzzled about it..
I'm few chapters behind ,right now he is doing a "mission impossible"!
so we may not get Mentes en Shock?, we will see!

Now here is a suggestion, Diane:
Maybe you could change the foros to Do-It-Yourself. Just put up a bare-bones forum & let the viewers fill it in; like viewers able to post Elenco, etc. In other words, how much of the work you are doing could be done by those who want to use the forum? Could viewers add the links? build cast. You might include in a bare-bones forum data on where viewers could go to get the info. How much of the maintaining could be done by viewers?
Thanks for all the work you do, Diane. If the telenovela of MF is just a rerun; why would a new forum be needed, since there already exists one for that telenovela? If you are spending an enormous amount of time on all this, you should be paid (I don't know if you are or not). Putting up a bare-bones forum is a much better alternative than you spending an unpaid life putting up fancy forums.
As to MundoFox:
at 2 PM LHDM has been showing on MundoFox since start of August as "Prueba de señal," in a 2 hour slot. No captions. I don't know if that means they will start it over on Aug 13 or not; but TitanTV indicates something else. I found the schedule on TitanTV -- I think it is also on Zap2it. It is strange how networks have failed to make their schedules easily accessible on their own website -- it seems as if they don't care if anyone watches.
LHDM is now scheduled for weekends. I think 5 AM Saturdays & Sunday thru Aug 24. This weekend it may be on at various times Sat-Sun.
Also, IMHO, right now they are supersaturating the TV air with telenovelas. Surely with all the proliferation, each telenovela will not get much of an audience. And someone is putting Muñeca Brava on YouTube with English subtitles going to around 250 episodes already. & how many other YouTube telenovelas are there? One lifetime is not long enough to watch all this stuff.
Is it rocket science really? For example, you might limit access to format posting to persons who have been on these forums for a years.
At any rate, I feel for Diane if she has to spend 3 hours on every telenovela forum.
Right now a person can publish an elenco in the regular forum postings. What diff does it make if there is an elenco slot to put them in? As I read Diane's post her biggest time taker was gathering the elenco.
Right now one can post plot summaries in the regular forum posting area. What diff does it make if there is a special summary slot to put them in?
The LINKS are designed to make things easier for visitors (lurkers and participants). By collecting information into files hosted by Telenovela-World, that information will be available as long as this web site exists. Some broadcast networks, for ex., keep their old novela web sites around when the novela ends; others don't. From my perspective, the more web sites that exist hosting information about a novela, the greater the liklihood that somebody somewhere will be able to find what they want. And I want visitors to Telenovela-World to be able to get all the basic information about a novela with as little effort as possible.
As for posting cast and summaries in the messages - yes, that can and does occur. But it is certainly not reliable and, as you pointed out earlier re the BLF translations posted as messages, it can get very clunky for novelas that consist of 100-200 episodes. Contrast that with the ease of downloading a single file that contains all the episodes.
And, re summaries in the messages, unless the posters make the subject line clear, e.g., "Summary for MM/DD/YY" somebody who does not visit daily or who starts watching midway through a novela will have a pretty hard time collecting/reading the summaries.
If you look at novela forums created before the Caray, Caray blog started, you will find lots of collections of summaries in English done by TW foristas that are very easy to access via LINKS - much easier than by searching through the forums where the summaries were first posted.
p.s. It isn't rocket science but it isn't trivial either. It's taken a while to develop a system and a fairly standard format for the information under LINKS. And, to be honest, the times I've asked for help with, for ex., cast/character information on novelas where I have found little information (because the production company provides little information), I've rarely gotten it.
Ben worked a miracle. There's now a mundofox section in the Main Index and I've added the 8 novelas.
Please note: Setting up 8 novelas in such a short period of time is not easy. I've done my best to check everything, but it is quite possible that I've misplaced information (the cast for Novela A in Novela B's file) so please, if you find an error, either email me or post it here or in Forum Forum so that I can correct it.
