Drago met a totally horrible end. Sort of like Cuisinart by boat, I guess.
What the show did for me is cement my favorite actress and actor in my mind: Carlos Torres Torija and Dolores Heredia. Carlos and his mariachi band really one me over -- going from a horrid drunk to a real romantic. I loved his repentance. I've also seen him in the wonderful mini-novela, Zapata, where he plays across from Lorena Rojas (who is my second favorite actress). Highly recommend you get the 2 DVD set of Zapata.
Dolores was in the movie Santitos, which I really like. She played in the opening episode of Amores de Mercado. It was a horrible show, but her deathbed scene opposite Humberto Zurita was really a demonstration of how 2 pros do their work. Dolores has also been in a couple of those Decisiones episodes that were surprisingly good: One with Marco Treviño (Vanya in Gitanas) and one with Carlos Torres Torija, which was really good. Do some googling of Dolores -- you will see that she's a very accomplished woman.
Mirko introduced Manuel Balbi to me, and I thought he was really good in a number of roles since, including a great murder scheme in a Decisiones with Carlos Torres Torija and also in La Viuda de Blanco.
I loved the scenes in this show between Veronica Teran and Marco Treviño in this show. Saby and Arturo Rios were good.
On a sad note, the woman who played El Negro at the very beginning, had to drop out and apparently died of lung cancer not too much later.
But the top two scenes of the show, we all agreed the first time around, was the jail kiss scene (the first one between Jovanka and Padre Juan) and the first supper scene, when Juan took Jovanka upstairs. During the jail kiss scene, this foro went wild and no male dared to post that nite!
Marco Treviño posted here a number of times and that was really great, too.
I would have liked to have posted more, but I figured that all I'd do is create spoilers. It was fun watching you folks post and reading your comments. It helped me to relive some great times on this foro 3 years ago. Thanks!
