La nueva novela de Telemundo
Mauricio Islas sorprenderá en el papel de Fernando Leyra, el villano de la historia. Un hombre que lleva dos vidas. La formal, como esposo de Lucía (Paola Rey) y padre de su pequeño hijo Daniel y la clandestina, con Martha y su pequeña hija Natalia. Sus padres se encargaron de darle todo lo que necesitaba, pero en el caso de su madre, de una forma exagerada. Esto lo convirtió desde joven, en un ser ambicioso, cuya única meta en la vida es conseguir todo lo que quiere, pero eso sí, por el camino fácil.
Paola Rey cautivará a la audiencia con su primer papel de madre como Lucía Martínez, mujer luchadora, orgullosa, soñadora, independiente y dispuesta a lo que sea por su hijo. Ella es la hija ilegítima de Néstor Savater (Jorge Cao), un hombre rico y poderoso que se aprovechó de su madre cuando era muy joven. Lucía se entera de quien es su padre al cumplir los 10 años, y en ese momento decide que jamás le pedirá nada a ese señor por el rechazo que tuvo con ella en no reconocerla. 2006 - Mauricio Islas, Paola Rey, and Michel Brown give life to the characters of
the new original production from Telemundo with a drama full of love, betrayal,
and intrigue that will keep viewers glued to their screens. "Amores de
Mercado" debuts Wednesday June 14th in a special two-hour episode starting
at 9p / 8p Central.
Mauricio Islas
will surprise (everyone except those who saw him in Amor a Mil, where he also
played a villain...) in the part of Fernando Leyra, the villain of the piece. A
man who is living a double life. The official one, as husband to Lucía (Paola
Rey) and father to their small son Daniel, and the clandestine life, with
Martha and his (her? their? not clear) small daughter Natalia. His parents (?
i'm guessing, although what is written is Their fathers or their parents) were
careful to always give him everything he needed but in the case of his mother,
in an exaggerated manner. This made him, from a young age, into an ambitious
person whose only goal in life is to get everything he wants, by the easiest
means.
Paola Rey will
captivate the viewers with her first role as a mother (NOT! she played a mother
seven years ago as Jazmín Cordero de Olarte in ¿Por Qué Diablos?) as Lucía
Martínez, a feisty, proud, independent dreamer of a woman who is willing to do
whatever she has to for her son. She is the illegitimate daughter of Néstor
Savater (Jorge Cao), a rich and powerful man who took advantage of her mother
when she was quite young (the mother was quite young, not Paola's character --
obviously!). Lucía finds out who her father is when she turns ten, and in that moment
decides that she will never ask anything of this gentleman because of the
rejection she felt from his never recognizing her as his. Lucía is married to
Fernando (Islas' character), who she never dreams is living a double life.
Michel Brown will
conquer hearts (again) as Diego "El Rayo" Valdéz, a noble young man
who from being an orphan who grew up without any affection, dreams
idealistically of being a father and giving his family everything that life
never gave him the chance to have. In an orphanage he meets Benjamin, who
becomes his adoptive father and ultimately his soccer trainer. With his help,
Diego becomes a star player who is dating Raquel Savater (Vanessa Villela),
daughter of magnate Néstor Savater.
In the story,
Lucía and Diego separately have spent years of their lives trying to establish
themselves emotionally and to form a family, making big mistakes and giving
themselves to the wrong people. She, married to Fernando who she does't really
love, and he the boyfriend of Raquel, a spoiled and capricious girl.
At the start of
the drama, Fernando fakes his own kidnapping to earn some serious money and
then disappear, abandoning Lucía and their son. Lucía finds herself obligated
to sell everything she has to raise the money the "kidnappers" are
demanding only to end up with no money and no husband.
Meanwhile, Diego,
a humble kid who is at the same time a famous soccer idol, suffers a tragic
automobile accident which leaves him with injuries that end his career. As if
that weren't enough, because of this unfortunate event, Diego is unjustly
sentenced to prison for supposedly being responsible for the death of his
Raquel, who was with him in the car.
Five years later,
Diego and Lucía meet. He, just out of prison and feeling himself completely defeated.
She, still disconsolate for not having heard anything more of her husband and
working in the market to maintain her son. In that moment, both will discover
that life sometimes gives us a second chance.
But when they are
just starting to smile again, destiny brings them an unexpected surprise that
will completely change the path of their lives.

is a novela by Basilio Alvarez; starring Mauricio Islas, Paola Rey, and Michel
Brown. As the female antagonist we have Vanessa Villela, who the public will
remember for her important (but tiresome and overly-made-up) role as Angela
(daughter of Skanky Donoso) in the successful "El Corpso del Decayo;"
on this occasion she will be the villainess, playing the double role of Raquel
and Mónica Savater. (no idea who this Mónica is supposed to be -- maybe she's
playing her own mother, too??)
The cast of this
passionate story is composed of great actors of the likes of Jorge Cao, Luly
Bossa, Salvador del Solar, Juan Pablo Shuk, Julio del Mar, Silvia de Dios, Raúl

There are secrets and intrigue
The story starts on February 14, valentines
day... Fernando gets home and his family is watching agame where el Rayo is
playing. ". Fernando gives her a bracelet, because is a very important
day...they keep showing the game, they win and they get the world cup. During
this celebration Raquel annonces her engagement in front of everyone.
Fernando and his family go to their son's
game, where there is a kidnapping.
At the same time Rayo and Rachel are
arguing in the car and there is an accident, unfortunately Rachel dies.
Lucia gets a call from the kidnappers and
they asked for a million dollars and she asked them, where is she supposed to
get that kind of money? They tell her to ask her daddy...Lucia has no other
option but do just that..goes to her mom to find out the whereabouts of Dr.
Savate.
The Rayo has an order of aprehension, since
Savate accused him of Raquel's death. The doctors tell El Rayo that he will
never again put foot in the stadium to play another game.
Lucia gets the money and gives it to the
kidnappers, but Fernando is no where to be found...by the way, Fernando has a
double life, with another woman and a daughter. And poor Lucia, who ignores
this is crying her heart out for the man she loves and is not back.
So Fernando Antonio tells his other family
that their life is going to change. Her daughter Naty tells him that that will
be beautiful, daddy.
By the way, Elvira, Lucia's mom is thinking
that the child needs to know that his mother doesnt love his father.
El Rayo is really sad and cries "why
is this happening to me?"
Elvira said: If my son is dead you killed
him Lucia.
Lucia finds out that her step sister had
died.
El Rayo reads in the newspapers that they
are accusing him of Raquel's death, and he is beside himself with fury.
All Fernando wants is Savate's money.
Martha is the other wife of Fernando/Antonio... Fernando feels that all Lucia
is interested in is his money.
The child disappeared, everyone is looking
for him. Adrian is looking for his grandfather, but the old man leaves ...El
Rayo is talking to his old man telling him that he did not killed Raquel, it
was an accidn4et.
The child screams....out of desperation.
el Rayo goes to the funeral. All the media
is at the funeral home, and her twin sister accuses Rayo of the accident in
front of everyone.
Elario brings the child safe and sound to
the house.
Mr. Savete is in front of el Rayo...the
twin sister slaps him and tells him to stay away from her sister. Iti s a big
mess...everyone accusing, el Rayo cannot take it anymore and leaves...Diego
leaves in a wheelchair.
They take Lucia to the delegation to answer
questions. Elario is there representing Lucia.
Monica puts on the bracelet and she swears
she will revenge. She pays the person doing the autopsy so they will not write
in the records that there was alcohol in Raquel's blood.
Mr. Savate wants to question el Rayo at the
police station, not at the hospital.
Lucia is questioned at the plice station.
Diego is sentenced to five years in prison,
in jail they beat him up...they show him learning to be a carpenter....
They show Lucia greeting Don Luis...they go
back to the town of the Milagros... Luis tells Lucia not to loose her faith,
and he will be there to help her in any way he can..

laer...Lucia opens a business...Julio and some other people tell her that she
is an angel.
She remembers again that St. Valentin's
day..
Elario talks to Fernando...and tells him
that there is very little money left... Fernando says that he is the man of
both of them, and compares them to flowers that need tending, love and
watering....
Fernando figures out is time to come back
to his first wife. El Rayo receives a St. Valentins greeting card. Christy and
Lucia talk about the past.
El Rayo is free finally, and can go back
home, of course the newspaper people are all over him andthey are fighting over
an interview.
Valdes tells Salvate that Diego is finall6
free, and like always gets sad. Adrian feels sad for his father. So love
finally thew an arrow to Adrian and he fell in love with a beautiful girl.
Lucia remembers Christis words...sweet company.
The media is blocking the car that El Rayo is in...and Lucia comes to his defense, both of them fall down.

Let me see if I can remember...
Lucia told Adrian that there was no room
for Diego at the house. So they left and then the photographer, Gonzalez I
think his name is, came and took pictures of El Rayo as he was trying to sleep
in Benja's truck. They got into a fight and then Juliet and her brother came
and insisited that Rayo go to their house for the night.
Back at Lucia's, her friend Cristina (I'm
not sure if that's her name) had a talk with Adrian about how he should want
his mom to be happy and how he shouldn't be so protective of her because its
been 5 years and his dad may never come back... Lucia goes to bed is knitting,
and day dreaming about Diego.
Monica wakes from a dream and says
something about how she can't get Diego out of her mind/body...
Diego is at Juliet and her brother's house and
apparently they were friends from the orphanage... So they go way back. Juliet
insists that she sleep on the couch so that Diego can have her bed. As he is
gettingready for bed she comes in and says she needs her pillow. She grabs it
in a way that brings them close enough to kiss and she tells him that she had
always wanted a kiss from him. She asks him to give her one... They are making
out and he says that it was a bad idea and leaves to sleep in Benja's truck...
But he leaves the keys so once outside he is locked out of the truck and must
slepp outisde.
Fernando or Fertonio as this phorum refers
to him as, comes back and first he goes to the Savater house and he is wearing
a hooded jacket and Monica sees him and thinks its Diego. He flees and he gets
a room at an inn and harrasses the lady at the desk. The next day he follows
Adrian around...
The next day at the Mercado Lucia sees
Diego sleeping outside Benja's truck and gently wakes him. He said things got
complicated in the night and he lost the keys. Just then Juliet comes and says,
"OH you left your key in MY ROOM. You left so suddenly...blah blah"
basically hinting that they did the dirty... Lucia gets mad and walks away
telling him that he shouldn't be messing around with someone as yound as Juliet.
Cristina tells her that she was just CELOSA!!!
Benja gives Diego a surprise... Its his
motorcycle from before he went to prison. Diego says he probably can't ride it
but Benja convinces him that he can... Diego rides around on his motorcycle,
and Andrea sees him and jumps out of her car to go talk to him. Adrian and his
friends run into the two of them talking, and then Adrian turns and sees his
father... He runs after him but Fertonio is gone.
Back at the Mercado, Fernando's mom accuses
Lucia of not giving the kidnappers the ransom money, they fight... Lucia and
Cristina are talking and Lucia stops as she sees a bouquet with the flower that
Fernando got her every valentines day... Cristina asks whats wrong and Lucia
says, "Its a boquet from Fernando."
The End... I might have missed stuff, I am
going from memory here...

the fight with Evilra started because
the police came and broke the news to her and Luis that they've had to file Fertonio's
kidnapping in the cold cases file for now since it's been five years and
absolutely nothing happened after the ransom was paid. of course, Evilra is
giving the guy grief over that. then she finds out that Lucía already knew this
yesterday because Eulalio told her and she totally loses it. in front of the
cop she accuses Lucía of being in a plot with the horrible little Gerardo, and
wonders if Lucía really actually paid the ransom at all, since SHE never saw
the money. Lucía, Luis, and Cristina are incredulous and outraged, the cop
--who is apparently still sore that Lucía didn't tell him about the ransom
demand in the first place-- presses Evilra for more information. what a moron.

D: If i'm telling you it's because it's
true, and because sometimes i see how you live and... the things that happen to
you and it reminds me a bit of my past, you know?
L: How's that?
D: I had everything, Lucía -- admiration,
money, success, triumphs... and all I did was play, and I spent my life
playing. on the other hand, here you are working and giving people the best you
can, you deserve everything that i had and much more. i wish i'd met you a long
time ago; i would have given you everything and i swear i would have made you
very happy.
L: Thanks, i don't deserve that, but
thanks.
D: Anything I can do for you and your son,
I'm going to do.
L: Adrián's going to need a lot... (they
laugh)
D: Fine, and you? Hey, you're very
sensitive and vulnerable and i know about that, so if at any time you need
help, i'm here.
L: Now i should call Evilra. I wanted to
call them yesterday but i was afraid to. i just couldn't give them such a big
blow, [i was hoping] maybe today on getting up it would all be a bad dream.
D: Hey, maybe today... it's a new day, but it all depends upon you.

from memory, so i may be a bit out of
order: at the market the next morning, everyone shows up even though Meche,
Cristina, and Lucía can't work because the restaurant is closed. everyone is
worried about how Lucía's going to pay the bills. Mamma's Boy offers to take
Julio up on his offer of giving him a job, but Lucía vetoes that, telling him
she wants him in school. Diego turns up, Lucía, in a bit of a mood, tells him
he doesn't have a job anymore since the restaurant is closed and since the
restaurant is closed he can't get any breakfast either so basically he has no
business being there. she all but tells him to get another job somewhere far
away from her. Evilra says something about how she heard from the kidnappers
last night but when pressed for more information admits she doesn't actually
KNOW it was the kidnappers, she just thinks it, and then confesses that she
might think it because she so desperately wants it to be true Fertonio is still
alive. she comes over all queasy and Lucía goes to get her a glass of water. as
she puts her hand out to lift the tape the police left there, Diego --who after
helping Evilra sit down has hurried after Lucía-- puts his hand on hers. Lucía
comments on this and he admits it. then he tells her something about how it's
time for her to stop living in the limbo she's been in for the past five years
and start living again. whether her husband is alive or not --probably not, at
this point-- she should open her eyes and see that the man who quite likely is
the love of her life is standing right in front of her.
Telenovela-World: Re: can someone help me? Monica's

Idalmi, Nestor wants a boy so that he could
pass the business on. From the Fanni-Monica dialog and the Nestor-Monica
dialog, evidently Raquel was allowed to be a "girl," but Monica had
to be a "Boy"; she was even dressed as a boy. She took engineering
and was groomed as the "son" who would succeed Nestor.
We don't know what drove the mother to insanity,
and we don't know who it was that was doing the violence to her, but we know
that Monica saw it.
Monica feels that her mother was telling
her to love life and do her thing, not to do the thing that looked
"Convenient." I am interpreting this to mean that she will dump
Medrano because she doesn't really love him and that she will pursue Diego even
more than before.
This part tonite is making me less
convinced that she is actually Raquel. She is looking a lot like Monica.
Perhaps she could fool Nestor, but I'm beginning to think that Fanni knows all
secrets here

Very

Fertonio is talking to Evilra. He gives her
some BS about how the kidnappers let him out, but he is still in danger, and
Lucia is bad bacasue she wouldn't get all the money he needed. Of course she
buys the whole thing.
It is a day ending in "y", so
Lucia is mad at Diego again. Monica spills the story about how she and Diego
slept together when he was with her sister. Then Juliet is going around
claiming SHE slept with Diego (the night before when he was staying with her
and her brother.) He does nothing useful to defend himself, then stupidly goes
off with Juliet to ask the preist to help him find a job (he cliams to have
learned carpentry in prison).
Luis and Whiney have a touching heart to
heart about the possibility of Fertonio being dead and Lucia moving on. Whiney
also has a conversation with Diego about this, in which he is surprisingly mature.
Some new Mystery Woman is introduced. She
is opening a new bar (in the 'hood? I couldn't tell). She claims to have been
away for many years but she is back now.... Majority opinion seems to be on the
side of her being Andrea and Betty's mother.
Doormat sees some news thing about Lucia on
TV, and recognizes the name (de Leira) from when she redialed Fertonio's cell.
Also, Monica's boyfriend and the paparazzi guy are planning to do a live
interview with Lucia...
That is what I remember.

Lucia and Diego ended their date, Lucy was
going to leave but Diego asked her if she really wanted to. Then she started
talking about her past and crying and saying how she had never been in love
until now. Then they started kissing and ended up in bed together.
Fertonio was lurking around outside the
church, he saw the motorcycle and figured out that they were in the room
together. He started raging with jealousy and trying to climb the fence to get
to their door or window. His mother starts pulling him down and pleading with
him to calm down or whatever because she's worried about the kidnappers getting
him or hurting Adrian which is what Fertonio told her would happen if anyone
found out. The wrestle a little bit and at one point Fertonio actually knocks
Elvira down. But then he picks her up and they start arguing while walking down
the street.
Monica leaves the church in a taxi, the
traffic is so bad she gets out and starts walking. She arrives at Dulce
Compania where Cristina and Meche are talking about Lucy's date with Diego and
what they must be doing. Monica walks up and asks where Diego is. They don't
want to tell her but Juliette is there and she offers to take Monica to him.
Adrian had asked Paca to make matching
jerseys for him and Andrea with their names on them. He takes them to Andrea
and asks her if they can form a two person team. I guess that was his way of
asking her to be his girlfriend. She plays dumb but basically accepts. They
walk and talk and go to a cafe and share a few kisses. Then Adrea's driver
shows up and tells her that she better get to ballet class, her dad is asking
about her. Oh, while they were walking they saw Elvira and Fertonio arguing.
Fertonio had his back to them. When Elvira saw them she rushed Fertonio off to
hide and then when Adrian asked she played dumb and said he was just some bum
asking her for money. Adrian didn't buy it. Then Elvira starts ranting about
how he should be worrying about what his mother is doing and she gets furious
when Adrian says he's letting his mother move on with her life.
Lucia had gotten out of bed after their
love making and wandered into the church with only a white man's shirt on. She
starts praying and crying to the Virgencita. The priest had been outside asking
God what to do about Fernanado revealing himself to him and the whole
Lucia/Diego situtation. He walks in and sees her like that. He knows what she's
done. She confesses her love for Diego, hugs the priest and cries. All the
priest can seem to say is that they made a mistake and had moved too fast. They
hug a few times. It is weird. Meanwhile Diego hears knocking at the door and
thinks that Lucy has been locked out. He opens the door and in walks Monica in
her wedding dress looking all deranged. She tells Diego that she ran out on her
wedding because she loves him and that she's decided to live her life for her
and not for her father anymore. She also mentions the letter she found that
says that her father is a monster. Diego's trying to get rid of her and in
walks Lucia in the shirt. Monica realizes that they are together and starts
crying and ranting about how everything bad that had happened in her life had
been her fault. Lucia doesn't want her to leave in that frantic condition and
starts trying to calm her down by telling her that she had a father who was
never there for her, who rejected her mother as soon as she learned she was pregnant.
She basically is trying to tell Monica that they'd all been hurt and
disappointed by their parents but that it wasn't their faults and that they had
to move on. In walks Nestor all furious and grabs Monica to take her out of
there. Lucia yells at Nestor to let go of Monica and she says something to him
that I couldn't really catch but he gets what she's saying cause he knows
that's his daughter. Monica is all confused and Nestor drags her out of there
and into the limo and they head home.
The last scenes show Adrian and Andrea
showing up at the ballet class and there is her father waiting for her. Also
the priest walks into Diego 's room and tells him and Lucia that there is
something they need to know.
OK. That's about it. I'm no good at leaving
brief summaries, that's why I rarely do it but I hope this helps.

Not much happened and I'm not sure when was
the 1/2 way point. I'll just tell you some things briefly.
Monica tells Medrano to forget about her
and to try to forgive her. Then she goes to her room and cries about Diego
being with Lucia. Nestor is in his room with some hooker-like character,
drinking and venting about his terrible day. This woman joins him in bed, tells
him how manly and powerful he is and then you can guess what happens next.
Gross!
Fertonio returns home to Marta and while
they are in bed together he tells her that he got a raise and a promotion but
that the downside is that he will have to work and travel more, that they will
have to separate for 5 or 6 months. He's planning something new because he
called Eulalio and told him they need to meet and talk about his new plans.
Diego tells his friend (Juliette's brother)
about what a wonderful time he had with Lucia. Juliette was listening in and
crying. Then she comes out and basically tells Diego that he's wasting his time
with Luci because she's married and has a family.
The priest shows up at Elvira and Luis's
house and almost spills the beans in front of Luis. Elvira tells Luis to excuse
them, that she needs to discuss a private matter with him concerning her
confession. They go outside and the priest tells Elvira that he knows that she
knows that Fernando's alive and that he feels they should tell Lucia. Elvira
objects strongly to that.
Lucia confesses that she slept with Diego
and that she is so in love with him to her mother. Her mother tells her that
she should fight for her happiness and not worry about what Adrian, Elvira the priest
or anyone else in the town thinks. Adrian walks in and wants to know why they
are crying. He asks about their date and she tells him they went to an
amusement park. Then he tells her about Andrea and that they kissed. She is
proud of him. Then he asks her to be very honest with him and he asks her if
she and Diego kissed, or if anything else happened and if they love each other.
That was the last scene.

well..., i missed the whole start of the show and was making / eating dinner
for much of the rest, but here's a really quick rundown on what i do remember
(quickie summary for Tues 25th July 2006; may be missing some stuff):
-Cristina and Meche insist to Lucía that
they think Padre Metiche is wrong and they don't think she sinned by following
her heart with Diego. she has a right to be happy. Meche tells Lucía that,
having spent her life sacrificing herself, she doesn't want to see Lucía doing
it as well.
-Moniquel goes over to Diego's to tell him
she's leaving town for a while and beg him for a quickie before she goes. she's
pissed off when he turns her down. she sees Whiney Boy walk in without knocking
and immediately starts kissing Diego and saying stuff like "you'll never
be a one-woman guy" and making it sound like they have an ongoing
relationship. of course, Whiney immediately believes her (see thread about
clichés, right below this one, and also some in the thread right above), bawls
out Diego, and refuses to listen to his attempts to explain that he is helpless
against lame-o writers who are too lazy to do other than resort to hackneyed
and overused clichés instead of more original scenarios.
-Moniquel sows discord at the mercado under
the pretext of telling Lucía she's going away for a few days. like Lucía cares.
-Whiney arrives to confirm Moniquel's
version of the "facts."
-Moniquel goes home and screams at her
father. i have no idea what about. that fake tan, overabundance of makeup, and
horrible hair extensions are so loud i can hardly hear her talk anyway.
-Doormat is happy to have Fertonio home but
upset because if she weren't so useless she could have gotten a job and
contributed to the family income so that he wouldn't have to travel but could
stay home with them all the time the way he did for the past five years. of
course, Fertonio wants NONE of that.
-Fertonio meets with Bead Boy and tells him
he's tired of being "kidnapped" while his wife gets it on with
another man. he's coming out of hiding, and that's that. Bead Boy gets him to admit
that he's risking the whole plan only because he's jealous. Fertonio doesn't
see any incongruity in his behaviour, which of course, he wouldn't. ignoring
the obvious fact that in the ten years he and Lucía were married he could never
get her to go to Nesturd and demand her rights as his daughter, and that
Nesturd refused to give her any $$ when he staged his kidnapping, Fertonio
states that all he has to do is get back with Lucía and in a matter of months
they'll all be living with Nesturd as they should be. Bead Boy warns him he'll
have to get beaten up by his kidnappers in order to add verisimiltude to his
unbelievably lame story that only his doting mother ought to believe but that,
thanks to the hacks writing this, everyone else probably will eat up
unquestioningly as well (except maybe Diego and, one can only hope, Meche...).
-Bead Boy meets with the
"kidnappers" to arrange the beating. the kidnappers tell Bead Boy it
is more practical to kill Fertonio plus it will cost more if they have to make
sure they only hurt him. Bead Boy disappoints by insisting they don't kill him
-- argh! i hope they beat the crap out of Fertonio. sure, it will make his
story seem more realistic (boo!), but it will be fun to see Fertonio taken down
a notch even if just for a moment. meanwhile, Fertonio calls his mother and
tells her he's going to confront his kidnappers and escape. of course, she only
worries for him, and doesn't ask him how come he never did this five years ago.
to quote Bugs Bunny: what a maroon.
-Whiney Boy, i think after making trouble
for Diego with his mother, heads over to see his new girl, who has been
chatting with his two pals from school (didn't listen to almost any of this so
i have no idea what about). MY. MAN. (her dad) turns up in time to see Whiney
holding hands with Andi and he wants to know why he's doing that and if Whiney
goes to that school. duh....
-Diego goes over to the market to see
Lucía, who of course is all brusque with him now because she believes
everything Moniquel and her precious brat of a son told her. like her precious
brat Whiney, she rejects his attempts to explain but Meche manages to override
this and Lucía grudgingly stops to listen to Diego. i don't remember what is
said, except that he points out the obvious truth that there are a lot of
busybodies who don't want to see them together, and he ends up kissing her.

yeah, after she started to recover from the
accident and not feel quite so weak, she said that the accident made the veils
or bandages fall from over her eyes, and she realized that she'd been doing and
saying a lot of really stupid things.
you can tell they're still editing a lot, though: last night there was a scene with Lucía in the hospital, fretting because she couldn't do anything to help the people in the mercado because she was stuck in her hospital bed. and Meche told her the best thing she could do right then was to rest up and get her strength back, the implication being that it would be at least a few days if not longer before Lucía would be able to leave the hospital. then the very next scene we see with Lucía, she's up and storming the Savater company offices. also, the very first scene last night, the one with Worm and Lucía where she asks him to act as her lawyer for her divorce, included dialogue that was apparently cut out of the last scene in Wednesday's episode. and those are just two of the many things i noticed. now that we seem to be in the famosa "second etapa," i really wish they would stop cutting out so much. it's making things really choppy and playing havoc with the continuity.

put them down as they occurred to me...)
although he didn't specifically say it,
Fertonio pretty much told Bead Boy that he (Fertonio) caused the fire (and in
the most cold-blooded, offhanded manner, too!), and seemed to enjoy watching
Bead Boy try to keep a poker face to disguise his dawning look of
understanding, and repulsion. he clearly enjoys believing that Bead Boy is
afraid of him and that because of that he now has the upper hand in the
relationship. (and i'd guess we should look for this imagined upper hand to
feature prominently in his future dealings with Bead Boy at the company...). he
gloated to Bead Boy that now Bead Boy knows what he is capable of...
as KateB22 posted in another thread,
Fertonio had a chat with Nesturd during which he basically sold Intolerable
Brat to Nesturd in exchange for a furnished apartment for himself, Evilra, and
IB (in his name, natch!), and some walking around cash, as well as maybe a
"job" at Nesturd's company. Nesturd agreed to everything but said
that IB was to live with him, but Fertonio nixed that, saying IB would choose
to stay with him. "you can't drink the sea in one gulp..." he tells
Nesturd, who decides to bide his time. later, when Fertonio pushes too far with
his greed, Nesturd in turn smacks him down with the same retort.
Nesturd has put Bead Boy in charge of
Fertonio at the company, saying that he needs someone to keep an eye on
Fertonio and keep him from getting out of hand. Bead Boy tried to object, but
was overruled. later, Nesturd told Bead Boy that he, Nesturd, would have to
bide his time for a while until he had more of a hold over IB, but after that,
who knows...? perhaps Fertonio would have some sort of unfortunate accident...
Bead Boy manages not to show Nesturd just how appalled he is to hear this even
if Nesturd is talking about Fertonio. poor Bead Boy -- i predict he is not
going to have much fun in the coming weeks what with trying to keep a rein on
Fertonio while being a mole for Alberto and not having the unfortunately acute
Fertonio or his uncle catch on to what he's doing.
Moniquel is less than pleased to learn that
Fertonio will be working at the company. she tells Bead Boy that Fertonio had
better not even try to get near her.
Meche goes to Evilra to try to find out where
Intolerable Brat is being hidden. Evilra tries to smack Meche down by reminding
her Luis is dead but Meche just smacks her down harder, reminding Evilra that
HER CHILD is dead. Evilra grudgingly admits they both have reason to be
grieved, but tells Meche she won't let her NEAR IB ever again. Meche,
unimpressed, tells Evilra not to threaten her like that.
i was in and out of the room for part of
the episode and as a result, i can't tell if IB knows his mother is dead or
not. Andi at least said the same thing all of us wanted someone to say to him:
what was he doing just barging into Diego's place without knocking first?? for
some reason, i don't think he knows about the fire at the mercado or that his
grandfather is dead, or that everyone believes Lucía is dead. Andi tried to
commiserate with him over the loss of his mother but he wouldn't let her.
"even dead" he wouldn't forgive his mother. when he was ranting about
how "selfish" Lucía had been to let her pride keep him from having
the money that should by blood belong to him, Andi made him look at her and
told him that in Lucía's place, she'd've done the same thing Luciá did. IB
doesn't want to believe her so he pretty much ignores that and just goes on
more about Lucía's selfishness, so Andi abandons that argument and tries
another tack, telling him that she blamed her father for telling her something
she didn't want to hear but later she learned he was right and she had to
forgive him. IB should forgive his mother and ask God to watch over her and his
grandfather. IB just stares at her stupidly.
Moniquel told Diego that Lucía is her
half-sister and is pretending to him to be devastated Lucía died in the fire
("why do you care -- you hated her?!!" "I didn't hate her -- i
was jealous of her!!"). her plan is to use their "shared pain"
over the loss of Lucía, as well as encouraging Diego to get back the life he
once had as a soccer star ("do it in memory of Lucía and the love you had
for her...!"), as an excuse to get close to Diego and to con him into falling
for her and forgetting about Lucía. (and i will say this for Michel Brown: his
eyes and nose were convincingly red, his voice sounded raw and as if his nose
were stuffed from crying. i could believe he was truly grieving and in shock.
ditto for Meche --for pretty much the same reasons. but most of the others... i
think Evilra was indeed upset about Luis, but some unacknowledged instinct deep
inside her is warning her not to look too closely lest she see something she
really doesn't want to see, so she's kindof shut down in a way. i did like it
that the first person Evilra asked about when she arrived at the mercado during
the fire all frantic was Luis. at least she cared a little bit. of course, she
kinda spoiled it for me by then asking (twice!) about her son...)
Diego told the photographer/reporter guy
that he thought the fire was deliberate and pretty much said if it was, it made
sense that Nesturd would be behind it. the reporter reported this back to his
editor, La Rata, who also thought it made sense and later asked Nesturd if he'd
had it done. Nesturd hotly denied it and told La Rata he'd regret it if he
tries to slander him in his paper. but later we learn that La Rata, his
reporter, and Diego are not the only people to whom it has occurred that Nesturd
could be behind the fire, given that he is the most obvious benefactor...
Moniquel went to see Nesturd and asked him
in a sweet sort of way when her nephew IB would be coming back to work at the
company. Nesturd expresses surprise at this change of attitude; Moniquel says
she's had time to realize you can't swim against the current and it's better to
just make the best of things.
when Meche went to see Nesturd and told him
Fertonio had faked his kidnapping just to extort money from Nesturd via Lucía,
she was shocked when Nesturd replied contemptously that OF COURSE Fertonio
faked his kidnapping -- who could possibly have wanted to kidnap a poor SOB
like Fertonio for money?? he added that he had always known that Fertonio
kidnapped himself, and that the only people stupid enough to believe Fertonio's
lame kidnap story were Meche, Lucía, and Fertonio's parents. then he says that
Intolerable Brat is HIS and he won't ever let her see her grandson again. he
told her not to threaten him. she just looked at him and said yeah, yeah,
yeah... you're rich and powerful. so what? i'm not scared of you.
the morning after the fire, Marta called to
speak with Lucía as they had agreed. she is very distressed to hear that Lucía
is dead.
even though i thought Bead Boy and Alberto
had agreed they wouldn't tell anyone that Lucía had survived the fire, either i
misheard or Bead Boy took pity on Meche when he saw her leaving Nesturd's
offices, because he told her to pretend she didn't see him and to meet him in
the café across the street in 10 minutes as he had something important to tell
her. there, of course, he reveals to her that Lucía is alive.
after Fertonio told Evilra about the
apartment and that she would be living there with him and IB, he said he had to
go deal with Marta. "she's your other wife, right? will she be living with
us, too?" Fertonio said no way, he was just going to give Marta the
punishment she deserved for disobeying him; Marta needs to learn to keep in
line and do as she's told. i'm hoping that when he gets to the house and finds
Marta and Naty gone, he doesn't take it out on Stalker Neighbor. he may be
kinda creepy and all, but still... Fertonio didn't care at all that the fire he
started --by accident, sure, but he didn't make any attempt to stop it, call
the fire department, or help put it out-- killed his father, never mind his
estranged wife and a whole mess of other people. he would certainly not balk at
killing SN...

FRIDAY, 1 SEPTEMBER 2006
we start with a repeat of the last scene
from last night, in which Bead Boy brings Meche to see Lucía lying catatonic in
the hospital. she asks if all the injuries were caused by the fire, and Bead Boy,
in an even tone, reveals that no, they're not -- Fertonio had beaten and raped
Lucía. Meche is horrified. Lucía sits up and starts screaming, and when Meche
hugs her, she clings to her mother and cries.
Marta and Natalia read about the fire at
the mercado and are shocked and horrified for Lucía. Naty is worried about her
father and wants to call Stalker Neighbor to see if he's seen or heard from
Fertonio, but Marta says no. she says she has to look for work, they are going
to need money to live on and rebuild their lives. Naty thinks she should look
for work, too, but not surprisingly Marta nixes that idea as well.
Driver Guy is surprised Andi's not in
school and says her dad isn't going to be too happy to learn this. Andi asks
where her father is and is told he's out in the back yard. she goes to see
THAT. MAN., who's looking adorably sad. he tells her that Laura and Cristina
died in the mercado fire.
Diego is daydreaming about Lucía. in his
dream, he begs her not to leave him, and she assures him she won't, she will
never leave him.
Intolerable Brat is going stir crazy in his
hotel room. Evilra tells him that if his father thinks it's best he stay in the
hotel room, he has to stay there. IB asks her how she feels about Luis' death.
Evilra says that Luis' death is something to be grieved about, not like the
death of his mother. IB confesses that, as mad as he was at Lucía, he didn't
really want her dead.
Fanny tells Moniquel it is horrible to die
the way Lucía did, but Moniquel doesn't care, so long as Lucía's dead...
because that means that Diego is all for her now and she is going to get him.
Bead Boy suggests to Meche that they go
talk in the cafeteria since Lucía is going to sleep for a good while.
Alberto is meeting with the city official
that Nesturd always bribes to get permits for what he wants to do. Alberto
wants to out-bribe Nesturd and get the mercado lands for himself. he tells
Corrupt Official this, and says the money he's just offered (which CO had
snubbed as being "such a small amount") is only a down payment
against an ongoing future relationship full of such gifts.
Marta and Naty are still talking about the
fire. then Naty asks if her father's crazy and wants to know if Marta is going
to get a divorce. Marta says not everyone is like Fertonio, but she doesn't see
how she can get a divorce. Naty points out she'll kinda need to have one if she
ever wants to remarry. Marta tells her that Naty's her only concern right now;
besides, she doesn't think she could trust another man again after her
experience with Fertonio.
Meche asks Bead Boy why he's been helping
Lucía like this. Bead Boy says he really shouldn't be telling her anything, but
he thinks it's important that she knows where they stand, and why he, the
right-hand man and close relative of Nesturd, has involved himself in Lucía's
affairs and those of the mercado. Meche admits that the whole right-hand /
close-relative thing does make him appear rather untrustworthy in her eyes.
Bead Boy looks at her sincerely and begs her to believe him when he says he has
very old, very good reasons for wanting to see Nesturd taken down.
===============commercials===============
during the commercials Bead Boy apparently
brought Meche up to date on his part in the story, including confessing to his
big and seriously flawed plan with Fertonio. Meche asks whatever made him think
Fertonio could help, and points out that Fertonio is trying to sell her
grandson to Nesturd. "he's already done it," Bead Boy replies,
telling her about Fertonio's deal with Nesturd.
Andi tells THAT. MAN. that she's sorry
Laura's dead and that she never had a chance to apologize to her. then she
brings up IB. THAT. MAN. reminds her he's already said he doesn't like her
having anything to do with IB, and Andi reveals that IB isn't a pobretón barrio
kid anymore -- now he's with Nesturd.
Diego and Lurch are bemoaning their new
fate, being left all alone now after the deaths of Lucía and Juliet.
Evilra tells IB the best way to get over
the bad things in life is not to think about them. she paints a glowing picture
of thei-- excuse me: his new life living in the best neighborhood, going to the
best school, having servants to wait on him, etc., while she will enjoy mixing
with the cream of society, going to the beauty salon, and so on. of course, IB
is the wealthy one, she admits, but naturally he will not forget to share with
his grandmother...
Moniquel's still babbling on to Fanny with
her Diego Delusions. almost wearily, Fanny again tries to bring her down to earth,
but Moniquel, wrapped up in her wonderful plans for her future with Diego,
totally won't listen.
Bead Boy says they need to keep Lucía
"dead" because Fertonio won't want Lucía to tell what she knows.
Meche says that Diego, at least, should to be told that Lucía is alive -- he
and Lucía love each other. Bead Boy nixes that, saying that he doesn't trust
Diego the way he does Meche and adds that, so far as he knows, Diego is going
out with his cousin Moniquel.
CO agrees to Alberto's offer and looks forward
to a long and enriching (for him) relationship.
Andi points out that THAT. MAN.'s objection
to IB was that he was poor so how can he object now that IB is rich? THAT. MAN.
tells Andi why he still doesn't like IB for Andi, but Andi doesn't see how her
father's working for Nesturd's biggest rival has anything to do with her
relationship with IB.
Bead Boy tells Meche about Alberto, and
says the main objective right now is for Lucía to make a full recovery.
Fertonio roars up to his #2 casa looking
furious and storms into the house.
Diego's worried about IB. Lurch says if he
were Diego, he wouldn't worry about IB.
Nesturd and Fanny are arguing; apparently
she has brought up La Rata's accusation that Nesturd had something to do with
the fire. Nesturd heatedly refutes this and says he thinks La Rata is scum.
Fanny grudingly decides to believe Nesturd, but adds that she hopes she doesn't
learn he was lying to her.
La Rata tells Moniquel that he's decided to
go work for a sports paper in Spain because he's fed up with Moniquel and the
things she and Nesturd get up to. he tells Moniquel he thinks the Savaters were
behind the fire at the mercado, which she, like her father, also hotly refutes.
Fertonio has apparently searched his #2
casa and discovered that Marta and Naty not only aren't there, but things
inside certainly look like they're not planning to return any time soon.
outside again, he stalks over and heatedly accosts Stalker Neighbor, hauling SN
out of his chair by his shirt lapels and demanding SN tell him where Marta and
Naty are. SN says, with perfect truth, that he doesn't know. in spite of
Fertonio's obvious fury and the beating he got from him before, this time SN
doesn't appear to feel terribly threatened by Fertonio. he invites Fertonio to hit
him again if he wants -- the police will come again and this time they will be
very interested in Fertonio. Fertonio may be crazy, but he's not so stupid as
not to recognize this for the totally credible threat it is. he lets go of SN,
frustrated.
Alberto walks into Lucía's hospital room
and says to Meche, "look what circumstances have brought us together again
after so long."

Meche recognizes Alberto. she tells him
she's grateful for everything he's doing for Lucía and says she thinks he
rather ought to hate her for the way she betrayed his sister's trust back in
the day. he replies that he doesn't blame her -- he is well aware that both
women were victims of Nesturd.
Moniquel is still pissed off about La Rata's
accusation, so she changes her mind about trying to talk him out of leaving and
instead tells La Rata to kiss off.
Fertonio, still frustrated at being checked
by SN, snarls to SN that if SN sees Marta he should let her know Fertonio is
looking for her and she'd damn well better watch her back. he threatens SN as
well, but SN isn't cowed. SN reminds Fertonio he knows Fertonio's a lying
bigamist. after this and a few other home truths, SN turns his back on Fertonio
and walks away toward his house. even more infuriated, Fertonio grabs a
baseball bat he happens to have handy in the back seat of his car, and moves to
go after SN. but before he's taken more than few steps he realizes he really
can't beat SN up. poor baby (NOT!) has to settle for taking a thwack at SN's
patio chairs.
Benji tells Lurch he's looked all over for
Meche and there's no sign of her anywhere. he's a little worried about her. he
and Lurch agree that Diego needs to get on with his life ASAP.
Meche and Alberto discuss how Lucía is
suffering from mental trauma in addition to her injuries. Alberto says they are
going to make sure Lucía makes a complete recovery. then he says he doesn't
want Meche talking to anyone but Bead Boy and himself and Lucía. "from now
on, you're working for me," he tells her (doing what? enquiring minds --of
which Meche is apparently not one, since she doesn't ask-- would like to
know...). she's to live in his house and not see anyone she knows, but can come
visit Lucía in the hospital whenever she wants.
Diego misses Lucía.
Nesturd tells IB and Fertonio that tomorrow
they can move into their new place. Fertonio's inappropriately pleased now that
everything seems to be working according to his Meister Plan. IB, on the other
hand, seems underwhelmed and even a little distracted -- possibly because now
that he's about to be irrevocably committed to something he knows mother would
have HATED, it's finally starting to sink in that she's gone forever. Fertonio
excuses his cash cow's disappointingly lackluster reaction to what any son of
his ought to realize is what he should want by smoothly stating to Nesturd with
a falsely deprecating air that IB is still suffering because of his mother's
death. he then adds, in a dismissive tone that is likely intended for IB's
benefit even if he's still addressing the remark to Nesturd, that IB shouldn't
waste his tears on Lucía. Fertonio concludes by saying, with that hearty and
totally fake bonhommie that he adopts whenever he's talking to Nesturd now that
he's mostly getting his way, that IB is his pride and joy, and will be
Nesturd's as well. they get up to leave but Moniquel, in spite of all her
raving about how she doesn't want Fertonio anywhere near her, strolls uninvited
into her father's office looking very pleased with herself. she glances smugly
and flirtatiously at Fertonio.

Moniquel makes her play at kissing up to IB
(all for her father's benefit, of course), holding out her arms to him and
inviting him to give her a hug. IB looks like he thinks something doesn't
compute (as well he should, considering how rude she's always been to him!!)
and doesn't move. Fertonio practically shoves IB into her proffered embrace.
"finally, a real family!" he smirks, smugly pleased. "yes, a
lovely family," agrees Moniquel with a matching lack of sincerity as she hugs
IB who, doesn't really hug her back.
Meche talks to Lucía, although since she
stopped screaming it seems Lucía has returned to her former more or less
catatonic state, so Meche's pretty much thinking aloud or talking to herself.
she says that everything that's happened to Lucía is terrible but one day,
together, they will make things right.
Alberto's told Bead Boy about getting CO on
his side. Bead Boy smiles gleefully, imagining Nesturd's reaction when he finds
out he's lost out on getting the land he's long been scheming to develop.
Alberto says he wants the land the mercado was on so he can give it all back to
the mercadites. as for Lucía, he says the doctor told him she'll be well enough
to be released in a few days. Bead Boy points out that Lucía is still
unresponsive. Alberto clarifies, PHYSically she'll be ready to leave the
hospital. they'll work on the mental part next.
Diego gets out his old soccer shirt and
looks at it thoughtfully.
now Betty's also been told that Laura died
in the mercado fire. she's really upset because she genuinely liked Laura.
Betty, Andi, and THAT. MAN. all commiserate with each other about Laura. Betty
says how Laura was really nice and Andi repeats that she fought with Laura and
now she can't say she's sorry. THAT. MAN. says Laura was not at all the sort to
hold that against Andi.
Memorial service for all the dead
mercadites. Moniquel, in accordance with her plan to get Diego, is there to
"support" him. her idea of doing this is apparently to hang on his
arm like a dead weight, but Diego's so grief-stricken she might just as well
have not been there at all. Laura, Cristina, Lucía, Felicidad (the guy who
befriended Olga, Diego's mother), Juliet, and Luis are all named; the scene
ended as the Padre was moving on to the names of additional victims.
Nesturd and IB are outside the Savater
offices. IB thanks Nesturd for the apartment and stuff. Nesturd tells IB to
call him grandfather. apparently, Nesturd's battle to win over IB starts with
the gift of a sleek new black convertible. IB is DELIGHTED with this and they
go out for a test drive. IB forgets to be sad.
Evilra and Fertonio have been touring the
new apartment. Evilra is all pleased about it and is looking forward to having
servants. Fertonio, in the "tut-tut-tut" tone of someone pleased to
be teaching a small child a lesson he knows they won't want to learn,
immediately interrupts this fantasy, telling his mother her his deal with
Nesturd was for the apartment, not for the servants. stunned and dismayed, she
stammers that since he's surely going to be earning lots of money at his new
job, he can afford servants. he tells her that he is going to take care of his
job; she needs to take care of the domestic sitaution.
Meche is worried about Lucía's mental
state. Bead Boy tells her that if Lucía doesn't get better soon, they'll get a
specialist for her. "and if she doesn't ever recover...?" Meche
frets. Bead Boy suggests they not be pessimists. Meche isn't comfortable just
leaving like Alberto and Bead Boy want, without going back to get any of her
clothes or say good-bye or anything. Bead Boy asks her if, honestly, there
really is anyone who will worry about her [if she suddenly disappears] and
Meche, sadly, tells him no.
Lucía just keeps reliving all the fights
and the fire and stuff.

she lived with Diego...
THAT. MAN. is interviewing secretaries and
Marta is next up on the list. you so KNOW she's going to get hired....
more Benji and Lurch "grieving."
Lurch thinks it's strange that neither Meche nor Evilra went to the memorial
service. Benji doesn't think it's strange Evilra wasn't there, but he's worried
about Meche.
Diego thanks Moniquel for being at the
service. Moniquel forgets Fanny's advice re: IB (about biding her time and
taking things slowly) and eagerly starts talking about their future together,
but Diego tells her to stop because he can only think about Lucía. Moniquel
makes a token apology then immediately returns to the subject. Diego glumly
tells her he has to remake his life, for Lucía's memory.
(here is more with Nesturd and IB in the
car, but i so don't care. i don't think anything important was said.)
Evilra reproachfully accuses Fertonio of
treating her like a servant and of pulling a bait-and-switch on her when he
told her she was coming to live with him and IB in the new place. Fertonio
denies all this and tells her if she doesn't want to "do her part,"
fine, she can go live at her old place in the barrio. now really dismayed, she
tries to play the Guilt Card by reminding him how she lied for him, covered for
him, and stole money from Luis and her savings for him, but Fertonio is
unmoved. almost pettishly, he mumbles in a sharp tone that the money will be
repaid, then almost patronizingly states that all he was asking her to do is to
"help out" and do her part. it's up to her to decide whether she
wants to or not.
it turns out Marta trained as a bilingual
secretary and got excellent grades at the school. THAT. MAN. tells her,
regretfully, that she's got great credentials but he was looking for someone
with experience (Marta doesn't have any since apparently after she graduated
she went right on to being a stay-at-home mother). Marta says she knows she can
do the job -- what she doesn't know already, she will learn, and she will work
long hours if he needs her to. she assures him he won't regret hiring her. he
asks why she's so desperate that he hire her and she tells him she NEEDS this
job because she has a daughter to support.
Meche's back in Lucía's room,
"talking" to her again. Meche's still fretting about whether it's
such a good idea to just disappear from the barrio the way Alberto and Bead Boy
want. since she's not even sure Lucía could hear her, she's surprised when, in
mid-fret, Lucía interrupts, saying in a dull tone, I lost everything, Mom...
Fernando used me in the most vile way possible. Meche is happy Lucía's come out
of her trance. Lucía seems to ignore this. she asks where IB is.
Diego is mooning over a picture of Lucía.
oddly, she seems to be wearing what i think is going to be her new hairstyle
(straightened), rather than the more natural wavy/curly style she had when they
were together. whatever.
Nesturd doesn't have any faith in
Moniquel's apparent change of heart re: IB. he warns her that nothing had
better happen to IB... Moniquel brings up her plan be with Diego, but Nesturd
flatly states that even if she IS being nice to IB, that doesn't change his
decision re: her and Diego, which is that she should forget about having
anything to do with "that soccer player." having issued this
ultimatium, Nesturd exits the scene, leaving Moniquel to sulk pettishly.
Fertonio loves IB's new car and rubs it in
some more about how he was right to want IB to meet his grandfather, unlike
(sneer) selfish, stupid Lucía. Fertonio notes that IB doesn't seem to like this
disparagement of his dead mother and mouths a token excuse as
"apology," but really, Fertonio is too pleased that everything is
working out the way he wants. they're finally starting to live the life they
should always have led, he says.

i caught the tail end of the promo for
Monday and the famosa "nueva etapa" definitely starts then. i note
the show is indeed just called "Amores" now, although it seems like
Mr Voice-Over couldn't quite cope with that and called it "los
Amores." heh.
and hopefully with this famosa nueva etapa,
we'll get new credits, since just offhand from memory, at least four of the
people listed in the AdM main titles are now either dead or written out of the
story while a fifth (the priest) looks like his part is pretty much played out
now the memorial service is over. also, the old main titles didn't include the
kid playing IB (and much as i would have liked to take that as a Sign that IB
was going to get killed off, too, the actor himself is doing a bang-up job and
should have been in the credits all along), plus we have Alberto on board now,
not to mention this rumored new antagonista, both of whom probably ought to be
added. and of course, the old head writer is supposedly out (and possibly other
writers and maybe a producer or three are as well!) and the new head writer in,
so....

I don't remember a lot because I didn't
record it, but you didn't miss much. This episode was more like a finalization
of details before moving onto the brand new version of the show. Please bear
with me!
Roberto and Marta are setting up his office
and she tell him that she will make mistakes starting off, but that she will
work very hard and he won't regret hiring her.
Lucia is still in the hospital. Alberto
comes into her room and tells her his plans of revenge for Nesturd and how she
can help him as well as how he can help her with her plans of revenge for
Fertonio. He tells her how she is much stronger than Eulalio, but that Eulalio
will provide them with valuable information.
Monica and Nesturd fight over her love for
Diego. Nesturd forbids her to have anything to do with him. Fanny and Nesturd
argue about Monica's behavior and she tells him that he should permit Monica
dating Diego. She warns him about losing his only daughter. Monica attempts
suicide...again and is rushed to the hospital where Lucia is.
Eulalio called Alberto to inform him that
Monica is on the way to the hospital that Lucia's at. He informs Mercedes of
the news so that she will be careful not to be seen by anyone.
Diego is at the hospital as well-scheduling
his knee surgery. Nesturd sees him and tells him that he won't interfere with
his relationship between he and Monica. Diego doesn't understand and tells him
he is at the hospital for another personal matter. Nesturd informs him that
Monica is in the hospital for attempting suicide and that he should visit her.
Diego does just that. Monica is so happy he is there and she clutches his hand.
He pulls his hand away from hers. She then cries in desperation for him not to
reject he and she clutches his hand again. That's how it ends.

bear with the old girl!
It's 3 years later and they show quick
shots of Diego playing soccer. Yes, he had his surgery and returned to the
field as if he never left it. THe crowd is going wild yelling FLASH.
The next thing we hear is that he has
developed a clothing line with his wife, Monica Savater de Valdez (yes, I
couldn't believe my ears, I had to blink twice and my heart stopped for a
bit-literally). The scene jumps to the premier fashion show of Diego's
collection. There we see Nesturd and Eulalio sitting together. Juliette's
brother is in the audience. So is Fanny. Elvira and Adrian are there-appearing
bored. Fertonio is enjoying the "back view"of all the female models.
Nesturd and Eulalio are having a
conversation about how glad he (Nes) is that someone in the family (Monica) is
making money. Alberto has been taking each and every contract that would
normally go to Nestor. On one project that Alberto is working on, Alberto
proposed an offer to Nestor to join in on the deal. Nesturd reveals he has no
choice. He would have to file for bankruptcy if he didn't take the deal.
After the collection has been viewed, Diego
walks out on the runway with his fellow designer. A woman-Andrea and Beatriz's
mother (yup, she's in the picture now). Diego kisses Monica, everyone seems
happy.....
Well, in the model's dressing area, Diego
reveals to Juliette's brother how he has never stopped thing about Lucia and he
contemplates as to why he decided to marry Monica. Juliette's brother tells him
how unfair he is being to Monica. We also find out that Benja has been dead for
a year.
We get a peak at Meche in her designer gown
and Alberto. Lucia is still getting ready for her debut. Alberto downs some
pills and Meche told him that he should stay at home because he is so sick.
Alberto to her he wouldn't miss it for anything. He was invited to the Fashion
Show, but Alberto decided it best to make their entrance at the After Party.
Eleanora appears nervous because she is
wondering whether Andrea and Beatriz will accept her invitation to the show.
They don't. She has also decided not to return to Paris. She wants to stay and
renew her relationship with her daughters.
Roberto tries to convince Andrea to meet
with her mother, but she won't hear of it. Another reason she doesn't go is
because she knows Adrian will be there. Roberto is nervous that if the girl
don't contact Eleanora, that she will not return to Paris immediately and come
to the house unannounced. The girls coaxes Roberto to admit his feelings for
Marta (yes, that Marta). Which he does! The girls really care for her and they
even like crazy Nati.
Nati has changed. She is not the
intelligent little girl we grew to love. She skips school often and hangs with
a bad crowd. Marta can't control her and it's really stressing her. When her
mother does make an ultimatum, Nati responds by saying (to the effect)
"What are you going to do punish me with a ruler?" (I can't remember
what Marta told her, but it's obvious she is a weak parent because Nati is out
of control). Nati also expresses how angry she is at her father being rich and
how his other son is living a better lifestyle than they are.
Please forgive me. I don't remember every
detail, because I wasn't able to record this episode.
They show 3 new characters. A family of
three-mother daughter and stepfather. The stepfather is a drunk who hasn't
worked in 5 years. The daughter is fed up because the mother won't do anything.
In fact, the mother is the one working to support the family and she gives her
husband (stepfather) money-which he squanders on booze. What is also shown is
that the stepfather bumps his crotch against the daughter's
backside"" (that bastard). I don't think it's the first time. And one
can see why the daughter is so anxious for her mother to throw him out on the
street. The daughter is in college (if she had any sense,she would have tried
to leave the house when school started instead of trying to convince her mother
to kick him out, knowing that she won't do it)
Fertonio doesn't want Elvira to speak to
anyone at the After Party because he feels that she embarasses him. She becomes
upset and declares to go home. He agrees, but she has to call a taxi by
herself. Because it is taking a long time to get a taxi, she goes back inside.
She is the first to see Lucia.
Adrian is worse now that he is an adult. He
has a guy friend who hangs out with him all the time (the friend is more like
his b**ch). Whiney is bragging how he will be with all the models of the show
and how every woman wants to be in his "black book". When his friend
isn't paying attention, Whiney looks at his mother as if he will get her in his
bed (yes his own best friend's mother). She sees him watching her and she reads
his expression and she becomes uncomfortable. He has become a disgusting,
hot-headed bastard. He also reveals to his best friend why he hates his Lucia,
because he doesn't understand how he could hate his mother. How he caught her
in bed with Diego.
Diego does go to Whiney and thanks him for
coming to the show. He also wants them to be friends like before. Whiney tells
him no way and for him to enjoy his party because he (Whiney) most certainly
will.
That's really all I can remember. I'm so
sorry, but I hope this helps a little.

This is a recap for those who have missed
the last few capitulos and for those who’ve watched to see which parts of this
“nueva temporada” are the better ones. The party was definitely exciting and
Lucia got the chance to dis all of her nemeses and promise to make them all
pay. What’s happened thus far:
* Lucia reveals that she’s still alive
after being absent for three years.
* Lucia is married to Alberto.
* Diego is married to Monica. (And they
seemed happy in spite of Diego’s protestations to the contrary.)
* Diego salivates over her all over again
and is willing to dispose of Monica like yesterday’s garbage (not a big
surprise there).
* Evilra wants to be part of the “ladies
who lunch”; Fertonio tells her to dream on.
* Fertonio is nothing more than Nestor’s
little pansy.
* Intolerable Brat is worse than ever.
* Lucia looks like a sexpot from hell in
her new look.
* Monica looked like a Barbie doll in her
evening gown and extra coating of orange fake tan.
* Fertonio looked like a Ken doll with that
side-part in his hair.
* IB looked like a porcupine with his new
look.
* Diego’s hair was disheveled as usual.
* There’s a new family that includes a
child molester.
* Andrea and Betty’s mother is back.
* Natalia is now a brat and, add insult to
injury, as lazy and as corrupted as her father and brother.
* Martha and Roberto have feelings for each
other (predictable).
* Nestor has a new secretary (not that
bimbo he slept with at his office and had little sexcapades with) and is
apparently Andrea’s mother’s confidante.
* Diego wants Lucia back — regardless of
their marital status.
* Lucia plans to sleep with him and then
humiliate Monica by telling her.
* Lucia’s turned into a b*tch.
* Monica wants to kill Lucia.
* Adrian tells Fertonio that he should
press charges against Lucia for bigamy (lol!). For the first time in a long
time, Fertonio is dumbfounded.
* Lucia and Martha reunite (cliffhanger
from last night’s show).
So there you have it, folks. The one thing
I don’t like is this Armando dude. Sorry, but I don’t like the subject of
stepfathers with wandering hands. I know it is something that happens all the
time, but like others have said in previous posts, it’s too much reality in
fantasy land for me. It won’t surprise me that when the girl decides to tell
her mother what has been going on, her mother won’t believe her. Ugh.

the writer is smarter than to give us the "same old story".
About Alberto & Lucia's marriage. Since
Fertonio is a bigamist, automatically Lucia's marriage is ended. Same goes for
the other wife. But of course they have to prove it. I wonder how Alberto
manage to do it without Fertonio's knowledge?

I can't tell you verbatim, but Lucia said
that Adrian would never do something so dispicable -- he explanation was more
or less that he was being lied to by Fertonio and that he was still basically
decent.
Lucia also said that Eulalio must be

something like that.

i haven't seen tonight's ep yet (have it on
tape) but as of yesterday, this would be my take on your questions (others'
mileage may vary...)
1. as i understand it, the original plan
was to bleed Nesturd dry (i guess at first via Lucía claiming her
"rightful place" to his money, and then, when that was a bust because
of Lucía being too uninterested in laying claim to a father who never wanted
her, via ransom demands) and somehow share the proceeds. i guess Bead Boy was
more trusting of Fertonio (or more certain he could "control" him) in
the old days, because i'm not sure i would have EVER believed Fertonio would
share once he got his greedy mitts on any money.
2 & 3. Bead Boy's Vengeance Against
Nesturd Plans have been in full swing during the three years break in the
story. Bead Boy had already pretty much abandoned his plan with Fertonio when
Fertonio decided, against Bead Boy's advice, to "escape" from his
kidnappers only because he was jealous of Lucía's relationship with Diego.
fortunately for him, soon after Fertonio turned up to put the final nail in the
ruins of their original plan, Alberto reappeared on the scene. Bead Boy had a
little chat with him and they quickly realized they had a common cause. Bead
Boy joined Alberto's team and even before the three year jump forward he was
already contributing his part, via passing inside information about Nesturd's
plans to Alberto so that Alberto could get the jump on Nesturd at every turn.
he has continued to do so all this time, with the result that Alberto's company
has been doing well at the expense of Nesturd's company. at the fashion show,
Nesturd revealed to us, via a chat with Beat Boy, that he is on the verge of
bankruptcy. Nesturd also revealed that his company and Alberto's are currently
partners in the construction of an information center at the beach, and if this
venture fails, he will be completely ruined. the next day in the office he told
Bead Boy that he is more than ever convinced there is a mole in the company (he
does not suspect Bead Boy at all!!).
4. Bead Boy is in love with Meche -- or at
least, he says he is. i think it's for real (or at least, i haven't seen any
signs that he isn't sincere, although i DID miss the first 15-20 minutes of
last night's episode and have skimmed some of the others). assuming his
feelings are for real, i'm not sure we know when it started, but my guess would
be that the seed was already planted even before the leap forward even though he
hasn't gotten up the nerve to speak up until now.
i'd say he's either a good guy who made
some really bad mistakes, or a potentially redeemable bad guy with a hidden
good side. what i can't tell yet is if he's being positioned to be redeemed and
live happily ever after, or redeemed via doing something noble before dying, or
if, now that he's already started down a slippery slope, he's going to be
allowed to continue to inexorably slip...

completely cracks up, which was highly amusing. Evilra also blackmails him into
getting a maid so she doesn't have to keep doing housework (by telling him she
will spill the whole story to Intolerable)
- Mercedes warns Lucia to watch out or she
will end up turing into someone as bad as her enemies.
- Eulalio tells Mercedes that Savater is
going to try to get her back, and asks he if he (Savater) proposed, would she
accept. She basically reponds "are you kidding". However, when
Eulalio brings up that he would be jealous, she doesn't want to talk about
that.
- Lucia tells Martha the truth about her
marriage, the revenge plan, the market fire, etc. She asks Martha to denounce
Fernando (for bigamy, I assume, maybe for domestice violence too?)
- Adrian talks to Andrea- he brings her a
big bag of not-very-subtle product placement candies, and asks to get back
together (She apparently had a boyfriend she just broke up with a few moths
ago.) She doesn't look too enthused. Betty confesses to Andi the crush she has
on her profe. They also talk a bit about Adrian, and his father (Andi blames Fertonio
for Adrain going bad) and speculate about the whole situation's effect on Nati.
- The abused stepdaughter chick tells Green
Girl what is going on (since she was 12!). GG tells her she needs to denounce
her padrasto, because he should be in jail (at best...)
- Diego wants a divorce. Moniloquita won't
give it to him (not exactly a shocking turn of events.)
- Nestor makes a date with Betty and Andi's
mom.
There is probably a bit more, but those are

own... SO like father, like son), but Nesturd says it's not open for
discussion. (hee! at least HE knows how to handle Turdlet. i'm not overfond of
Nesturd, but it is fun to see him hand out well-earned smackdowns. i can't wait
until he finds out what Turdlet tried to do to Mirella...!) Turdlet tries to
manipulate him by saying that Loser is making approaches, and Nesturd lets him
know that it's his (Turdlet's) decision, he (Nesturd) won't force him (Turdlet)

isn't arguing with La Rata c/SB because he thinks SHE'S pretty -- La Rata c/SB

Marta asks THAT. MAN. to please forgive his
daughters. (he's being a blockhead.) Andi was in part a victim of Megaturd and
Fertonio's deception, while Betty is a beautiful woman who simply made a
mistake. (did i say THAT. MAN. is being a blockhead? well, he is. this was at
least part of the reason that Eleonora left him and he knows it.)
*Por su parte, Lucía está resignada a
perder a Adrián, se ha vuelto duro e insensible. Los años que lo dejó con
Fernando lo transformaron en una copia de su padre, lo cual es para Fernando
motivo de jactancia: "Mi hijo es igual a mi".
for her part, Loser is resigned to losing
Megaturd (she should be breaking out the champagne, IMO, but i guess Yawn's
decided to go the Mother Love route with her on this point...), he has become
hard and unfeeling. (not to mention deceptive, traitorous, disloyal, abusive,
even more selfish, worthless...) The years she left him with Fertonio turned
him into a copy of his father (and again i say it: while the years with
Fertonio certainly didn't HELP, he was with her almost twice as long as he was
with Fertonio. conclusion: Megaturd wasn't "turned into" a copy of
Fertonio. he merely became what he would have always become, just sooner.),
which is something for Fertonio to brag about: "My son is just like
me." (except he apparently doesn't even have retconned parental abuse to use
as an excuse. they shouldn't've bothered with the whole very belated and
patently unbelievable Mommy Dominatrix thing as an "excuse" for
Fertonio since i think it's pretty clear he's not really redeemable. it was a
pathetic and misjudged attempt to garner sympathy where none was needed. by the
same token, blaming Fertonio and especially Loser for Megaturd deciding to be a
total crud is also pathetic and misjudged. just kill him off already.)
*Andrea le reclama a Adrián por haberla

while keeping her at a distance-- or pay her back in kind by rejecting her
outright, given that Evilra is no longer her mother-in-law, will probably do
nothing but whine unless Lucia gives her everything to which she feels she's

Megaturd did not do anything to help you --not that this is likely to come as
much of a surprise to Fertonio-- and: i am your only friend, so now you owe me.
sigh... Moniloca would do well to listen to Fanny's advice a bit more often. if
Fanny knew what Moniloca was up to so far as Megaturd or Fertonio was
concerned, i'm sure she'd tell Moniloca to cut it out as she's so busy playing
one side off to spite the other that she hasn't yet seen she's really only
going to end up spiting herself... does she think Lucía is going to care she's

not starting until 9:35p or later, but that LAI is being given a copy of the

no small hand in making her totally loony-tunes!), and the sleazy slacker of a
presumptive heir he has unjustifiably favored only by virtue of his having
genetic equipment the infinitely more-capable (if crazy) Moniloca has not got
is not only completely unsuited to take over the business, but completely
unworthy of even such a slimy business as is Nesturd Co (and you thought that
wasn't possible!!). yes, Nesturd has a LOT for which to answer, even not taking
his treatment of Fanny, Meche, Lucía and others into account...)

nothing but plans to get even with Fertonio (because Fertonio can't admit to
himself the far more humiliating truth: that Diego doesn't think about Fertonio

last week we only had one or two avances,
but at least for those few, the teasers and the full avances (follow the
"Más" link) were in synch. not so this week: this week he started out
by updating the teaser avances but not the full avances, so for instance, on
Monday afternoon we had teaser avances for that day's episode but if you
clicked on the "Más" link, you got full avances left over from Friday's
show, etc. then on Tuesday morning, he would update the full avances for
Monday's show, so that for a brief time the teasers and the avances would be in
synch but a day late. later on Tuesday, he would update the teasers, but not
the full link, and so on...
then yesterday, even that half-assed system
broke down. having updated everything so that it was all for Tuesday's show, he
just left it there, all day and even when i checked late last night. i guess he
just now got around to updating both the teaser and the "Más" link
for yesterday's show -- and what's worse is, it's totally OBVIOUS it's for
yesterday's show, because it says so right up front on the teaser page...!!!

risk doing that because everyone who knew the situation would ascribe it to one
or both of the following reasons: 1) morbid (and very vulgar) curiousity (find
out for herself if he's going to get better or not), so she can try to turn his
illness to her advantage; and/or 2) if "not," to try to hasten his
decline. also possibly a third reason, because the patient and/or his doctors
might refuse to let her see him and/or to give her any information about his
status. not wanting to expose themselves this way to the world at large is why
i believe any and all of these reasons are reasons a REAL person in this
situation would rely on spies or bribes to get the information she's looking
for. but of course, we're dealing with the same hospital and doctor(s) where
just anyone can walk in, totally unimpeded, pretty much anywhere at all
--including rooms and/or areas that in a REAL hospital would be under the
watchful eyes of at least a nurse (intensive care) and/or would be full of
people (the emergency room)-- and proceed to do pretty much anything they want
(disconnect monitors without setting off an alarm or alerting anyone (Moniloca
in the emergency room); smother a patient in intensive care without setting off
an alarm or alerting anyone (Fertonio killing Alberto); and so on...)

she isn't usually the delusional type who would figure she's coming into a nice

She even tries to make him feel bad because
nobody was keeping him company [in the hospital] and upon Megaturd's arrival,

in case she should run into Megaturd. i guess she went on purpose, not only to
gloat to Nesturd, but also in the hopes of running into her horrible child so
she could at least comment on his birthday by not commenting. if you know what
i mean. she should have been better about heeding Bead(less) Boy's advice...)

not his mother?? ok, yes, i wasn't paying a whole lot of attention here...

him it makes sense that Diego has to help him get out of the poverty in which
he lives. (was she nice or greedy? if the latter, she and Fertonio ought to get

Nesturd tells Megaturd to go [back] to the

like what's this about how she's Moniloca's mother and he never knew...? not so
sharp as you've always thought you were, huh, Nesturd? well, that's what you
get for not being more of a REAL father. i bet now you're wishing you'd been
more like a real father these days, and in the delivery room when your children
were born... 'coz THEN you would have known already. ha ha.) Feeling rejected
by his grandfather (as he should, since he pretty much doesn't have anyone else
who puts up with him these days. but will it make Megaturd reconsider his
attitude and behaviour? i think NOT!!), Megaturd glares at Fanny. (like it's
her fault. ok, well, technically speaking, it IS her fault Nesturd is kicking
Megaturd out like the child he is, so the adults can have a real conversation.
but regardless, it says a lot about Megaturd that what he really resents is not
that he can't spend time with Megaturd, comforting him and just hanging out,
but that she is the reason he's being ordered to go back to the scene of his
recent and very public humilliation AND keeping him from trying to score
Brownie points with his grandfather so that he can get more in the Will...)

university that he and Green Girl are a couple. (since when do you have a
university attended by just six students??? learn to count, LAI!!) Green Girl's
hands are tied (figuratively, not literally) since if she doesn't play along,
Megaturd will reveal her secret. (and i am with those here who asked if it was
really better to have to pretend to be Megaturd's girlfriend than to be known
as an "escort..." personally, i think i'd rather the latter. if
people are going to hate and avoid you anyway for being a slut, you may as well
at least be able to live with yourself and not have to worry about having to
put up with Megaturd pawing you. and even though Green Girl already knows
"but it's the only way i can pay for school" is actually a pretty
lame argument, still, i should think it would be way easier to defend being a
prostitute than being Megaturd's "girlfriend," and especially when
you know he's only doing it to get back at you and your friends for dropping
him when they found out what a true turd he is.)

course, this will lead to all sorts of misunderstandings with Lucía. spare.
me.!! i know trying for something original is WAY beyond your scope, Yawn, but
could you at least try for something a LITTLE more interesting...?)
*Mirella está muy emocionada con Medrano
y lo platica con Dora, quien la anima a luchar por lo que siente.

Bigote and talks about it with Dora, who encourages her to go with her
feelings. (and really, not that the story isn't sweet and Mirella doesn't
deserve to have a nice guy in her life that isn't a blood relative and all, but
that whole diamond necklace product placement thing was SO clumsily-handled, it
was BEYOND obvious the scenes were written only because Kay Jewelers forked
over $$$ to have closeups of their bag, their velvet boxes, and their jewelry
on a beautiful woman (although, wasn't it a relief and a nice change to see a
piece of jewelry that WASN'T the size of someone's foot on a woman in this story??).
i can think of several ways this could have been handled in at least a
marginally more believable and "natural" fashion -- hell, my CATS
could think of several ways!-- so i have to assume the reason Yawn didn't was
because he couldn't be bothered trying to disguise what it was, rather than for
any lack of at least marginal "creativite" effort. i wonder if he was
pissed off at being told he had to work that into his precious story somehow,
and so he deliberately wrote the necklace scenes the way he did, in order to
make his displeasure obvious (well, even more obvious)...?)
*Mónica y Savater buscar alternativas
para resolver sus problemas económicos. Ella quiere bajarle el salario a sus
empleados.
Moniloca and Nesturd look for alternative ways to solve
their economic problems. (here's a hint: cut Megaturd loose. he's a total
drain.) She wants to cut the employees' salaries. (unworthy, Moniloca -- and

over Lore, yet Lore can't give her friend some support even though she knows
Green Girl must need it, and all because she disapproves of how Green Girl
supports herself? hey, Lore -- you'd have a much better chance of helping Green
Girl stop turning tricks and perhaps even standing up to Megaturd if you show
her clearly that your love for her as a friend and your concern for her are
greater than your moral outrage...)

Lucía wouldn't fall for anything so obvious, just as she would not had the

On the other hand, Megaturd will take a hit. (hah. certainly

responsible for the death of her husband. (and of course, there won't be any
proof of his "confession...")

their kibble...)

Megaturd gets mad at Green Girl and goes
through with his threat to unmask her in front of the whole school. Chava
refuses to accept that Greenie could be a prostitute but Megaturd dares him to

would have been, you should have at least 'fessed up to your friends the second
Megaturd found out about you. now you've just helped him REALLY screw you over
(instead of his pathetic, inexperienced attempts to literally do it...).)

But some highlights (in only vague order):
Lucia has a bunch of visions, with various people
telling her how much she has screwed up. Later, she and Diego argue about her
continuing the venganza. He essentially gives her an ultimatum ("venganza
or me"). For reasons passing understanding, she visits Fertonio in jail,
and he threatans Diego.
Diego offers his brother a job, and makes
some sanctimonious speech about how you should always forgive people blah,
blah, blah....
Ugly Prison scenes including bad times for
Molester Stepdad.
Nelly offers to let Green Girl stay with
them but she refuses (is she still working? she must be paying rent
somehow...). She does finally crack with Adrian, telling him to go to hell, she
isn't going to play his game anymore. He, of course, runs off to tell Gil and
Chava the truth immediately. Chava is pretty crushed.
Beadless boy goes to talk to Nestor about
some business thing, but that plotline is completly meaningless to me, so I
have no idea what, really.
Moniloca also visits her dad- she wants
Fanny out of the house (Nestor refuses). She asks him if he is really going to
get better. He assures her he is, but I don't think she believes him (maybe he
really won't die- if it's ending in 10 days, they must be done filming, and Cao
is already moved on to Zorro anyway).
That's all I remeber (btw- the Spanish CC's
are working fine, if that helps you at all).

Lucia/Paola looks clearly anorexic at this
point, and it's very disturbing to see how skinny she is.
The business thing is that Fenix gave very
low bids to make Savater bid just as low on their part of the contract, but
Savater is extremely low on funds and can only meet the bid it offers by
purchasing and using sub-quality materials (highly illegal) -- which was the
plan since once Eulalio and Lucia expose the illegal quality of Savater's work,
he'll be out of business. Eulalio was telling Savater himself that Fenix plans
on using sub-quality material as well, to make Savater believe that they're
truly even partners. Of course Eulalio and Lucia don't know Savater is on
death's door.
When Monica rants and raves about how
Eulalio also knows about the secret of who her mother is, Savater suggests
she's so upset about being Fanny's daughter b/c that makes her the daughter or
a servant, which makes her just like Lucia. For one blessed moment, Monica
finally shuts up.
In prison, Fernando tells Abusive Creep to
get used to being raped since in prison that's what's going to happen to him
over and over, since he's a molestor. Fernando is clearly full of glee at the
idea of "the abuser becoming the abused." And, of course, being
Fernando, he's enjoying Molestor's suffering -- which is rather disturbing to
me b/c I'm also glad the molestor is getting what's due to him.

Megaturd visits Fertonio in jail and is
told he’d better get himself organized if he doesn’t want Moniloca to end up
with all of the inheritance. (well, Fertonio’s got more people visiting him now
in prison than he did when he was out!! what’s that all about? and, more to the
point, why the hell bother escaping, since he’s already getting to see everyone
and the kitchen sink practically!! they should really tighten up the visiting
hours at that place. oh, and speaking of the prison, since when does Fertonio
have his own little cel phone?? he used to have to make calls from the pay
phone! how is it that no-one’s taken it from him??)
FULL:
*Savater descubre que tiene sólo un año
o dos más de vida. Él le pide al doctor que no le comente nada a Mónica, pero
no imagina que Lucía lo ha escuchado todo sin ser vista.
Nesturd discovers he’s only got one or two
more years to live. He asks the doctor to not say anything about this to
Moniloca, but he doesn’t even imagine that Lucía, unobserved, has overheard
everything. (what. ever. i suppose now Yawn is going to have Lucía agonizing
over whether or not she should use this information to her advantage in
furtherance of the not-terribly well-thought-through Gran Venganza plan that
no-one really seems to have a good grasp on (of course they don't, since Yawn
himself hasn’t got one!), or tell Moniloca anyway –not to hurt her, but because
she should know— or something else.)
*Adrián visita a Fernando y le cuenta
que Luisa resultó ser una de las mejores amigas de Andrea, y que él se encargó
de decirles a todos en la universidad que ella es una prostituta. También
hablan de Savater y su inevitable muerte. Fernando le dice que se ponga listo
porque si no Mónica se quedará con toda la herencia.
Megaturd (apparently joining the the
endless parade of unrestricted guests permitted to his imprisoned father)
visits Fertonio and tells him that it turns out Green Girl was one of Andi’s
best friends and that he (Megaturd) took care of telling everyone at the
university that she is a prostitute. (really? everyone? are you sure?? we
didn’t see you telling the cafeteria lady...) they also talk about Nesturd and
his inevitable death. (like their own aren’t inevitable as well, although
clearly not anywhere near as immediately impending as Nesturd’s appears to
be... Yawn: get your act together, man!! why isn’t Megaturd dead already???
you’re really slacking off!!) Fertonio tells [Megaturd] to be prepared because
if he isn’t, Moniloca will end up with the whole inheritance. (as she should,
really. for one thing, it sounds like there’s pretty much nothing to inherit.
but for another, she’s actually worked for it, and been a devoted and caring
daughter (well, in relative terms, mind you) to her father, whereas Megaturd
has been nothing but a lazy, greedy leech from the start (no, not even a leech.
leeches have their uses; Megaturd has none other than to make me constantly waste
cyber ink asking WHY THE HELL YAWN HASN’T KILLED HIM OFF ALREADY...!! but you
get what i mean.) and consequently deserves less than nothing. Nesturd should
leave the business and the house and everything in it to Moniloca, and the
immediate profits as of the day he dies –and only as of that day—to Megaturd,
provided only that Megaturd is actually working at the company and helping earn
said profits at the time. heh. of course, Megaturd could learn there are no
profits and won’t be any for a loooooong while, and die in abject penury before
Nesturd kicks it. that would make everyone happy. well, everyone here, at
least.)
*Lucía habla con Savater y le dice que
se va a España con Diego y que ahí se van a casar. También le dice que ya sabe
que él está muriendo, y que siente lástima por él porque nadie lo va a
extrañar.
Lucía (in yet another WTF?? interview)
talks to Nesturd and tells him she’s going to Spain with Diego (really? have a nice
trip. and have a glass of Rioja for me. don’t forget not to write.) and that
they will get married there. (oh, i am so holding my breath. NOT.) she also
tells him she knows he’s dying, and that she feels sorry for him because no-one
will miss him. (not true, Moniloca will miss him. and so will Fanny. and
Megaturd especially will miss him, because even if he signs over 100% of his
rapidly-dwindling estate to Megaturd and cuts Moniloca out completely, Megaturd
hasn’t a clue how to make whatever pennies he might inherit grow into dollars,
which Nesturd might still know how to do if he could get off his high horse,
and Moniloca has already shown she knows how to do when she can make herself
actually focus dispassionately on the business.)

Ok for those who haven't seen the ep yet
and dont want spoilers, dont read. lee, these are the things i remember:
episode 137: two weddings and a funeral
hernan and chava's mother (cant remember
her name) were talking. i would normally not care about this particular scene
but, something interesting actually happens. he asks for her forgiveness, says
he behaved horribly and that he still loved her. she said she didnt want to
talk about it and while she was cleaning up the house and rambling away hernan
has a heart attack and dies.
luisa tells andrea and betty that she's a
prostitute and she was forced to be with adrian to keep him from telling. soon
everyone finds out afterwards, including nelly and a bunch of others.
moniloca and fertonio are chatting in the
visiting hall (ur right b, he does get a lot of visitors! very popular for a
worthless criminal!) and she tells him that nesturd is about to kick the
bucket. she tells fertonio that she wants him to die right away lest he has a
sudden attack of conscience and decides to add lucia to his will. fertonio
tells her to be subtle in her behavior, not to make it obvious that she doesnt
care and wants him to die. (by the way am i the only one tired of seeing these
two flirting and calling each other "mi amor"? what's the point when
they obviously dont give a sh*t about each other!) so moniloca does a whole
show about being devastated about her father being terminally ill for fanny.
fanny looks suspicious at first but then believes her (the fool).
megaturd visits green girl and humiliates
her by dangling money in front of her and then tries to force her to have sex
with him. then she kicks him in the nuts (thatta girl!) and pulls out a gun.
he's amused at first but then panics when he sees that she means business. he
tries to grab the gun from her and that's when she shoots him in the gut
(yippy!!).
diego finally accepts to go to spain and
after some deliberation, loser finally says she will go with him. (gosh, these
two gotta be the most boring leading couple in the history of leading couples.
my biggest pleasure would be the see them off to spain and away from my tv
screen foreva).
martha and that. man get married.
mercedes and eulalio get married the next
day.
everyone looks happy and in bliss, which
every one knows it is telenovela speak for impending doom.
luisa is in jail for shooting megaturd. she
said she did it in self-defense. i hope she makes it out ok.
a weird shot of fanny, in tears, leaving
the savater house carrying a tiny suitcase.
thats all i remember....oh and loser and
diego find out about megaturd being shot of course and they head to the
hospital. loser sees megaturd and tells him he's gonna be all right. thats when
he notices that he cant feel his legs and panics.

prison, since they just learned that their father was killed and the only one
they can suspect is Fertonio. (granted, i would consider him the prime suspect
as well, but it’s not like there aren’t others there who could have done it,
likely in league with Fertonio. although as we have seen, Fertonio certainly
isn’t afraid of doing his own dirty work, so...)
FULL:
*Diego y David buscan a Fernando en la

*Fanny deja la mansión Savater ante
humillaciones que recibe de Mónica y el mismo Néstor.
Fanny leaves the Savater hovel due to the
humiliations she receives from Moniloca and Nestor himself. (well, i guess
20-something years of snubs and humiliations has a cumulative effect, because
it’s not like they haven’t been mostly pretty arrogant with her all this
time...)
*Adrián trata de violar a Luisa pero
ella le dispara y él termina en el hospital. Lucía corre a su lado y pronto descubren
que él no podrá caminar. Decidida, ella le dice a Diego que no puede irse con
él a España pues su obligación es quedarse con su hijo.
Megaturd tries to rape Green Girl (again,
since he already did it at least once) but she shoots him and he ends up in the
hospital. Loser runs to his side (MORON) and they soon discover he can’t walk
(Yawn: if you think this gets you out of having to kill Megaturd, you are DEAD
WRONG. KILL THAT BOY OFF!!!). Her mind made up, she tells Diego she can’t go to
Spain with him because her obligation is to stay with her son. (oh, for gawd’s
sake...!! as Ace Ventura, Pet Detective would say: “LOOO-HOOO-ZUH-HER!!!” if
Megaturd hadn’t been such a total turd all this time, MAYbe i could see it. but
spare me already...!)
*David le pide a Diego que lo lleve con
él a España como su asistente.
David asks Diego to take him with him to
Spain as his assistant. (would this fit in the job description for whatever job
Diego insisted David take...? because otherwise, what about that job?? way to
act responsibly, guys!)
*Adrián se muestra muy arrepentido con
Lucía y dice que no merece su cariño. Sin embargo, es muy probable que esta sea
otra de sus manipulaciones.
Megaturd acts all reformed and sorry with
Loser and says he doesn’t deserve her tenderness. (well, he’s certainly got
that right – he doesn’t!!) However, it’s very likely that this will turn out to
be another of his lies. (i’m not even going to BOTHER taking bets on this. of
course it is. Yawn: where is my death scene??? don’t think you’re getting off
without killing that little twerp off before the end of the story!!)

face. Diego his brother & Lucia went to jail & blamed Fernando for
killing Gabriel.Diego punched him in his stomach. Fernando laughed.Luisa got
freed from jail. Savater visited Adrian & Adrian told him that he never
loved him & he told him that he was going to end up in the hospital. Lucia
visited Zavater & told him to stop manipulating Adrian because that is why
he has so many problems. Savater told Lucia that he will give her Adrian
because he dosen't want him.Lucia visited Adrian & he told her that he was
wrong about everything he did & that if he could go back in time to vhange
everything he would. They hugged each other & Adrian was laughing. I think
he's faking.

recover. (which is why she’s LOSER again...) Diego is convinced he’s lost her
forever. (consider, Diego: you’re a lame-o, but even so, you might well be
better off if you have lost her...!) Fertonio plans his escape from jail.

FULL:
*Lucía daría su vida para que Adrián se
recupere. Mercedes le advierte a su hija que no se puede dejar enganchar ya que
hay muchísimas cosas en juego y le ruega que abra los ojos y se dé cuenta de
que su hijo heredó las cualidades histriónicas de su padre, y que por su culpa
ella está perdiendo a Diego.
Loser would give her life for Megaturd to
recover. (which is why she’s LOSER again...) Meche warns her daughter not to
let herself be deceived [by Megaturd] since there are a lot of things at stake
and she (Meche) begs her (Loser) to open her eyes and she (Loser) realizes that
her son inherited his father’s histrionic qualities (well, “histrionic” is
certainly ONE way of putting it...) and because of (him? her? it’s not clear)
she’s losing Diego. (ah, LAI must’ve been in a rush to get out the door. even
for him, that is just so spectacularly badly written...)
*Néstor Sabater está de acuerdo con
Mónica y confirma que hay que arrancar el problema de raíz... "Ya es
tiempo que Eulalio pague con su muerte".
Nesturd agrees with Moniloca (about what?
the weather? the price of tea? what a total waste of time Megaturd is?) and
confirms they have to pull out the problem, roots and all. “It’s past time
Bead(less) Boy pays with his death.” (!!! you do understand Meche won’t give
you the time of day if you kill her husband, right, Nesturd??!?)
*Eulalio por su parte se entera por un
amigo que trabaja en el gobierno que pronto comenzará la investigación de
Néstor Sabater y que seguramente lo detendrán. Él quiere desasociar al Fénix de
las empresas Sabater.
For his part, Bead(less) Boy finds out from
a friend who works in the government that the investigation of Nesturd will
start soon and that he will surely be detained. (about damn time...)
[Bead(less) Boy] wants to disassociate Fénix from Nesturd Companies. (yes, and
especially now that he’s married to the boss’ mother...!! still, i’ve always
liked Bead(less) Boy, in spite of some of his questionable actions (especially
earlier in the story), and i hope he comes out of this ok... i also hope we see
more of Salvador del Solar in the future – he’s fabulous!)
*Diego le agradece a Julio por estar a
su lado en sus momentos de necesidad, pero le asegura que es una batalla
perdida ya que no hay cosa más fuerte que el amor de una madre. Él sabe que
perdió a Lucia para siempre y lo tendrá que aceptar.
Diego thanks FanBoy for being at his side
in his moments of need, but he assures him that the battle is already lost
since there is nothing stronger than a mother’s love. he knows he’s lost Loser
forever and he will have to accept it. (ok, WTF??? surely even Megaturd wasn’t
such a moron as to demand his mother chose between her guy and her worthless
slime of a son?? or, if he was, that Loser was such a moron as to accept...??
although, thinking about it, Yawn is just such a moron, so...)
*Fernando esta planeando su fuga de la
cárcel. "Si todo sale como planeamos, mañana a esta hora estamos fuera de
aquí". Él tiene muchas cosas que hacer en cuanto salga de la cárcel,
incluyendo unas visitas conyugales que tiene muy pendientes.
Fertonio is planning his escape from the
prison. “If everything goes as we planned, this time tomorrow we’ll be out of
here.” (“we”? is he taking Faker or Child Molester with him??) He has many
things to do once he’s out of the prison, including a few conjugal visits that
are overdue. (i can’t wait until he’s dead. maybe, if Yawn is intent upon
redeeming Megaturd, the brat can have an epiphany and lose his life while
killing his father... the key thing there being that Megaturd MUST DIE TOO. you
hear me, Yawn??)

Monica came to visit Megaturd in the
hospital and asked him for Green Girl's address. She told Megaturd that she and
his father want to send Green Girl some flowers (or a gift, can't remember) to
thank her for what she did to Adrian. Megaturd, grinning evilly, told Moniloca
to do him a favor and send a second one from him as well. Moniloca and Megaturd
seem to have become quite chummy.
Fertonio also is plotting to escape
"tonight" with Abuser as his helper.
Megaturd called Diego to mock him and tell
him that Diego never had a chance against him. Diego, who has moved out and
lives with his bro at Julio's house, went to Loser's house and told her about
the call. She refused to believe him. She and Diego went to the hospital where
Megaturd bold-facedly lied, of course, saying that Diego is making it all up to
get rid of him and have Loser for himself, that he called Diego to beg him to
stay with Loser. Loser, as befitting her name, believed Megaturd and sent Diego
away (or he stalked away, can't remember.)
Savater tells Moniloca that she is right,
that Eulalio needs to finally pay for everything, and they plan to kill him.
Pretty much predictable, huh? lol

least, although the Telemundo execs would not come amiss, either... i bet none
of them can carry off a drag as you can!)

money? what's Evilra got to do with it? other than being greedy and passing on
the traits to her son Fertonia, i mean...?)

"And if Fertonia doesn't finish you
off, I will do it." (ok, so long as SOMEone does it, that's all i care
about. oh, and if they could finish off Megaturd while they're at it, i would

Loser gets a call from Fertonia just as she
leaves the bank with Evilra and she tells him how his mother was the one who
betrayed him. (ok, and again i say it: huh?? it didn't look like she gave him
up to the cops in yesterday's ep, so betrayed him how? i mean, how that we
don't already know about? by stealing the money he was going to use now that
he's escaped?? i don't get it... (but do i really want to, though?))
*Néstor Savater está muy decaído y Fanny
trata de aconsejarlo. Savater cambió su testamento y le dejó todo a ella. Esta
es la última vez que la verá.
Nesturd (again with the last name, LAI -- what
is it with you???) has really gone downhill and Fanny tries to advise him. (i
thought she told him she was all done with him and didn't want to know from any

changes his Will and leaves everything to her. (well, either her or Moniloca
were the two most deserving candidates. after a home for stray cats, that is --
of course!!) This is the last time he will see her. (um, ok.)

have Fertonia get rid of Megaturd and i'll bet Yawn only has Fertonia running
away from the bodyguards. what are you waiting for, you moron???)

watching last night's Nesturd's question to Moniloca about had she sold the
jewels, i remember thinking, "HUH??" i've skimmed a lot of the novela
and i figured i must've missed an earlier conversation about it, but now you
mention it here, i may as well ask: WAS there an earlier conversation about
jewelry? was Moniloca supposed to sell what she had (maybe to help bring cash
into the company to keep them afloat a bit longer)? or were you all
"WTF?" too when he asked that question...?

Diego follows his best friend's advice and

Megaturd as a bucket of ice water but he has no other choice than to play
along. (any bets as to who gives in first -- Megaturd, Diego, Loser, Yawn, or
the viewers...?)
*Ni porque esté entre rejas Savater le
dará nuevamente el poder a Mónica que ya una vez le revocó. Aunque ella sea la

Not even because he's behind bars will
Nesturd return power to Moniloca now that he's taken it back from yer. Although
she might be the only one who can get him out of there, he no longer cares
about anything. (you know, i'm wondering if LAI is getting edited episodes,
too...? that could explain both why we're getting so many avances all of a
sudden --he can't chose between the stories-- and why even when he doesn't make
mistakes in spelling and / or grammar, they still don't make a whole lot of
sense...)
*David no quiere irse para España pero
le da pena con Diego. Andrea respeta su decisión aunque la relación va en serio
y ella espera que él haga algo para estar con ella.
David doesn't want to go to Spain (why not?
Spain's nice!!) but he feels he ought to go because of Diego (loose translation
but...). Andi respects his decision even though their relationship is serious
(when did this happen??) and she hopes he will do something to be with her.

*Adrián no se recupera, puede ser que no

them worse. case in point: Megaturd. aka your alter-ego. because that's the
only reason i can think of to explain why you haven't killed him off by now.)

go, etc-- totally goes to show what a complete turd he is...)

happened when they loaded Megaturd into the car. when Fertonio started to tie
Megaturd up, [Megaturd] said to him, "why are you tying me up that wasn't
our deal." (and again with LAI and the lack of punctuation...! LAI, didn't
you ever watch Wheel of Fourtune...?? do us a favor and buy a comma already!!)
*Lucía entiende que, lamentablemente, Diego
tenía razón en cuanto a Adrián.
Loser (FINALLY) understand that, lamentably,
Diego was right about Megaturd. (hello, Loser? it took you long enough!!)
*Elvira se cae por las escaleras en una
pelea con Mónica. Mónica está siendo perseguida por unos hombres, así que llama
a Fernando para ocultarse con él.
Evilra falls down the stairs in a fight
with Moniloca. (what??!?) Moniloca is being chased by some men (because...?),
so she calls Fertonio so she can hide out with him. (yeah, that's going to work
really well...)
*Mónica está asustada no quiere que Elvira
se despierte y la denuncien.
Moniloca is frightened she doesn't want
Evilra to wake up and they denounce her. (dammit, LAI, i mean it: buy some
punctuation already!!! and while you're at it, buy a few additional WORDS,
too!!! geez!!!)
*Adrián está sufriendo mucho. Esta vez sí
está viendo la verdadera cara de su padre.
Megaturd is really suffering. (boo hoo,
poor baby. NOT!!!!! considering everything he's put US through, suffering is no
less than he deserves. short of being DEAD, that is, which is what he REALLY
deserves. Yawn: why isn't he dead yet???) This time he is seeing the true face
of his father. (oh, crap, Yawn's setting up for a Big Repentance thing with
Megaturd, i can just tell... well, Yawn, pay attention: IT WON'T WORK. you
could have gotten away with this if you'd had Megaturd have his Big Epiphany
back when he was still Turdlet and Fertonio had only recently returned, but not
now -- not after everything that's happened. Megaturd's well aware of his
father's true face and has been for a while. why? because HE SEES IT EVERY TIME
HE LOOKS IN THE MIRROR, given that he's been so assiduous in taking his father
for a role model. and because he's not 10 anymore. so Yawn, do what you should
have done a long time ago and KILL OFF MEGATURD already!! (c'mon... you know
you want to... and believe me, WE want you to!). because he really is such a
selfish little turd that even if he repents as truly as he knows how, it won't
be enough: he will still be a turd, because he ALWAYS WAS ONE, even when he
thought his father was dead.)

police when he tried to kill Loser. (except as i recall, he wasn't so much
TRYING to kill Loser as to make her believe, via death threats, that he would
kill her if she didn't give him the money he wanted... but i admit, i FF'd a
lot, so maybe he went from 'you're mine! give me money!' to 'i'm going to kill
you!' when i wasn't watching...)

While Moniloca will have the worst
punishment that a woman like her can have. (you know, LAI, you could have saved
that sentence by just putting the word "tanto" in after
"Mientras," but no....) Thus he who plays with fire, ends up getting
burnt. (no, really???)

Loser asks Megaturd why he hated her so
much if the only thing she ever did in life was love him. (obviously Yawn
decided to go for Nature over Nurture. you know, i think the original head
writer had a better (as in, more subtle) plan in mind for Megaturd. too bad
Telemundo decided he was too lame and so they substituted an even bigger hack
mid-story. i'd be curious to know how the original writer intended to have
Megaturd end up...)

Megaturd asks her to forgive him and
promises he will change and go back to how he was before. (which was only
marginally less of a turd than he is now, so i'm not sure that would have been
so much of an improvement.)

But Loser is very determined (here in the
sense of she's made up her mind) and she's already heard that promise many
times. So she will go to Spain with Diego, and Megaturd will stay [behind]
living with Fanny in Evilra's [former] house and he will get only what he needs
[and nothing more]. (you know, since Yawn was too weak to actually kill
Megaturd, i think i would have rather seen this scene go as it did, but end
with Loser saying to someone --not to Megaturd's face, but maybe to Diego or to
Meche-- that even though she would be staying away from Megaturd, she would
still be keeping tabs on him, and would revisit the whole "i promise to be
a good person" issue if, while living with Fanny, Megaturd actually does
end up turning his life around and trying to be a good person. not because he
was given any incentive to do so by promises from his mother --which is why he
can't be told about it-- but because he decides to all on his own. still, as
written by Yawn, it looks unlikely that Megaturd will ever reform, which is why
he should have been killed off. preferably while doing something that
unequivocally demonstrates his unregenerate badness, such as while trying to
kill Andi or Green Girl or something. OR have him killed off while doing
something noble, like trying to defend Andi or Green Girl from his father.
because the end he did get, while more than deserved, was most unsatisfying.
plus, why should Fanny be stuck taking care of him even if she is a confirmed
masochist???)

Yawn's ever put in Loser's mouth. not that that's saying a whole lot...)

Megaturd definitely isn't going to change,
his tears are of hatred, envy, rage, and resentment. (Yawn: you should have
killed him off. he wasn't worth saving, really!!)

Evilra ends up quadreplegic and homeless,
begging in the streets. (which just begs (ahem. sorry!) the questions: how did
she get the sign. how does she eat when she does get enough money? how did she
change clothes? how did she get out of the hospital at all -- surely they
didn't just bundle her up in any old clothes and push her out into the street!
of all the endings, this is the most ridiculously unrealistic and,
consequently, also unsatisfying even if she is fully able to --eventually--
realize that had she only made different decisions, she would not be in the
position she's in now. for one thing, she'd be dead of starvation before she
had a chance to get dirty, never mind change clothes, get dirty, and get a
sign. for another, i think Meche or possibly even Loser would have made sure
she was somewhere she could be cared for, such as at Fanny the Masochists'
(since she's already taking care of Moniloca --which makes a modicum of sense
given that Moniloca IS her daughter, after all-- and Megaturd --which makes
less sense, but whatever). really, Yawn should have figured out something else
for her altogether. like the fall affected her brain and she completely forgot
everything, including who she was. and so she ends up in a home. or helping
Fanny take care of Megaturd and Moniloca.)

Moniloca's body is burned and her face
disfigured. (what IS it with hack novela writers that they are so in love with
this particular plot? AND with beyond unrealistic treatments and healing
times??? if a real person had been burned as badly as was Moniloca, they'd be
in the hospital, in a controlled environment and probably in a
medically-induced coma, for MONTHS, not leaving after a bare few weeks. i know
novelas often feel they need to ignore some details of reality in the
furtherance of dramatic tension and whatnot, and not that i disagree that the
worst punishment possible for Moniloca is to be disfigured for life, but i
really really REALLY wish novela writers would get a clue and stop treating
full-body burns as if they were a broken leg! maybe it should be a requirement
that all novela writers spend a month working in a serious burn unit at a
hospital before they are ever allowed to even THINK of using a burned-all-over
plot ever again. or be burned all over their bodies. writers, get this through
your stupid skulls now: A FULL-BODY BURN BY ACTUAL FLAMES IS NOT REPEAT **NOT**
THE SAME AS --OR ONLY JUST A TEENSY BIT WORSE THAN-- A FULL-BODY SUN BURN. you
know, the last 15 or 20 years, American soaps --which so many novela people
love to despise and get all indignant about when novelas are compared to them--
have stopped treating serious diseases and injuries like they're little worse
than a bee sting. yes, the soaps do continue to be unrealistic in some ways.
and yes, the soaps have the luxury of going on for years if not decades, so in
some senses they can afford to take a more realistic approach with their
disease and injury storylines. but it was also a conscious decision to do so on
the part of the writers. and one that has won them the appreciation and
gratitude of viewers who are familiar with diseases like AIDS and breast cancer
and so on. (i exclude soaps like Passions, but they don't even pretend to
reality anyway...) novela writers really need to get a clue or just stop using
such criminally irresponsible plots altogether. it's not like they couldn't
have found some other way to disfigure Moniloca... although Yawn is such a hack
he probably would have found some way to mess that up, too.)
*Néstor Savater muere en la cárcel sin

Nesturd dies in jail without any type of
assistance. (well, this answers the question of did he die or just have an
uncontollable fit of despair. but apart from that, is LAI trying to say that
Nesturd died without anyone killing him or helping him to commit suicide? or is
he trying to say that the prison officials were so lax they didn't try to help
him even knowing he had a heart condition? and if the latter, that in and of
itself is criminal.)
*Lucía y Diego se casan. Fianlmente
están felices, sin temores de que alguien pueda hacerles daño y rodeados de
verdaderos amigos.
Loser and Diego get married. Finally they
are happy, without fears that someone could hurt them and surrounded by true
friends. (well, fears that anyone could hurt them until some crazed fan of
Diego's decides to stalk Loser. or maybe... but i digress. i know we saw
Bead(less) Boy and THAT. MAN. discussing rebuilding the Mercado once their
current project is completed, but i still feel the whole work story line was
poorly wrapped-up --even more poorly than it was realized, in fact, which is
just annoying. there should have been a scene --or was there, and we just didn't
get to see it in Telemundo's rush to get the story over with and off the air in
order to air... what? something called "Buena Fortuna" that i don't
recall even seeing advertised???!?-- showing what Loser planned to do with the
company... is she taking over Nesturd's company as well and integrating the
work forces, so that all those employees aren't suddenly out of work? is she
resigning as head of Fénix and letting Bead(less) Boy and THAT. MAN. run the
company? does she even care? yet another end that is more unsatisfying than
anything else in the rush to the obligatory finale-at-the-altar scene. morons.)

Random garage/taller where the Bad Guy crew
(Fertonio, Moniloca, Adrian) is holed up. Loser calls Fertonio's cell and asks
to speak w/ Adrian, when he says no she asks to be put on speaker, and tells
everyone there that she is onto her son, and won't give them a penny. When she
hangs up, Fertonio goes predictably ballistsic, and tells Adrian to call his
mother and get her to give the $$. Adrian refuses- "I'd rather you kill
me!"
Doc tells a very whiny Evilra that she is
likely going to end up paraplegic. Later, in her room alone, she starts to cry
(too bad.)
Savater enters prison. When he gets to his
cell, he sits down on a bed, but his new roomie comes in and threatens him. It
looks like he is in for a fun time!
Mireya tells her friends (Nelly, Martha)
about her engagement to La Rata con stupid bigote (Medrano). She is a bit
hesitant because she thinks he want to get married too soon, but Nelly
encourages her to go along with it (since marriage worked out so well for
her...)
Andrea and Betty are talking about the
situation, and are not at all sympathetic to Adrian. Andrea looks forward to
him returning to his mother and begging for her forgiveness and getting laughed
out of town. She is excited because she is going to get to visit David (Diego's
brother) in Spain. An older (older than Betty and Andrea, that is, not old)
man, a new Profe, walks by and Betty ogles him. Andrea warns her not to fall in
the same trap as with Slimey, but Betty tells her not to worry- she already
found out he is single.
Lore talks to Gil (finally). She tells him
she is leaving the University and breaks up with him- he asks what he did
wrong, and she tells him nothing "the person who is screwed up here is
me". She wants him to get on with his life, but he tells her he only wants
her. She obviously still has problem with the fact that he is the son of
Armando, but he tells her he has no father. She looks sad.
Back at the taller, Fertonio is babbling
delusionally about what they will do with all the money they are getting. He
and Moniloca argue. They make plans to kidnap Lucia during Diego's farewell
match.
Loser and Diego are in bed, after she has
hung up on Fertonio. She tells him she isn't going to give one cent to
Fertonio. He tells her that after his farewell match they will leave for Spain.
She tells him "no", but then laughs and says she is just kidding (Um,
real funny, Loser). Lots of smootching ensues......
Fanny, Mercedes, THAT.MAN (Roberto) and
Beadless boy (Eulalio) are all at the hospital, and everyone is glad that Loser
isn't giving Fertonio any of the money. Fanny and Mercedes are out in some
hallway, talking. Mercedes tells Fanny about Monica pushing Evilra, and Fanny
says she is the only one who can really understand what Loser has been going
through, because she has also had to deal with the deception of her child
turning out to be bad. Mercedes tells her not to visit Savater anymore, and not
to help him commit suicide, but Fanny keeps making excuses. THAT.MAN visits
Beadless Boy in his hospital room. They both agree that the danger isn't over,
but BB thinks that everything will end soon, because Fertonio and Moniloca are
going to make a mistake.
***Days pass
It is the day of the farewell match. All
Diego's friends are there, except for Mercedes and Beadless boy, who are
watching from the hospital. Fertonio sneaks into the stadium (dragging a guard
he has knocked out/killed). He changes into the guards clothes, and advances
further. On the futbol field, reporters are interviewing Diego, but he sees
Loser, and wanders off with her to kiss in the stadium tunnels (uh, oh...) They
manage to notice the prone figure of one of the guards, but don't actually
react before Fertonio is able to grab Loser, and hold a gun to her head. Lots
of meaningless dialog ("what do you want?"..."all this time, and
you still don't know what I want?"). Some of Diego's (now ex) teammates
arrive, but Diego, ordered by Fertonio, tells them to leave and slams the door
shut (they go back to the field and start to raise the alarm). Loser struggles
and Fertonio shoots- she falls to the ground....
Meanwhile, Moniloca has been left as
Adrian's niñera, and isn't happy about it. He taunts her, suggesting that she
kill him and end up in prison, and they squabble. Adrian grabs a baseball bat,
and Moniloca a propane torch. She tries to light him on fire, but winds up
setting the whole place on fire, including herself. Adrian is momentarily
unscathed, but seems to have no way to escape (dare we hope, or is Vonn just
teasing us???)
Fanny, for no reason I can imagine, visits
Evilra, and tries to give her hope, but Evilra just continues her whining.
Back at the stadium, Diego and Fertonio
fight. Fertonio has Diego pinned to a wall, but Loser looks up, sees Fertonio's
gun lying on the ground and shoots him. He comes after her and eventually gets
the gun back, but by that time the NeverLand SWAT team has arrived. He turns on
them, shouting, but they shoot first, and he falls dead!
Firemen reach the burning taller where
Adrian is, but will they be in time to save him (we can only hope not!)
**** The next day? (not sure- at least
several hours later)
Lore calls Nelly from Paris. She seems much
happier, and tells her mother Paris is beautiful, and that she has been able to
not think about what happened.
More hospital: Diego is talking to Lurch,
David, and THAT.MAN. Apparently, Adrian has had the bad grace to survive, but
this will not impede the trip to Spain- Fanny has decided to take her masochism
even further and take care of him. Mercedes catches Beadless Boy up on the
news, and we learn that Monica is still alive, but badly burned. Loser talks to
her worthless son, and he begs her forgiveness. She tells him she forgives him,
but won't ever trust him again and is leaving for Spain. She will support him,
but if he does anything to hurt Fanny, she will cut him off without any further
thought. He cries- "you can't abandon me...", but she is unmoved:
"It's over". When she leaves he calls after her - "Rot in
Hell!"
More touching parent/child conversation
from Fanny- Monica is bandaged all over, but Fanny promises her daughter she'll
take care of her.
****A few more days pass.
Diego, Loser and David leave for Spain,
everyone is waving as their car pulls away. Then, we cut to the bad guys-
Adrian seething in his hospital bed, Mummy Moniloca, Savater in prison, Evilra
begging on the street (in a wheelchair), Fertonio being zipped into a body bag.
When Monica finally gets her bandages off, she looks in the mirror and sees her
horribly scarred face...

Lucia and Diego are back from Spain to get
married. Everyone is on a patio somewhere toasting them: Mercedes and Eulalio,
Roberto and Martha, Julio and Eleonora, Diego's agent/manager guy with some
random, presumably Spanish, chick, Gil and Mireya (no Medrano?) Andrea and
David, Betty, Naty etc. Diego and Lucia kiss.
