Dalia (Erika Buenfil) dalia se desempeña como abogada exitosa. Violeta lleva a sus hijos a casa de su madre. Dalia e Irene (Lourdes Munguía) se encuentran. USA 8/5-9/02. A man, Luis, punches his wife Violeta and his children see him. He apologizes to them in the car. When he apologizes to her, she tells him he always apologizes, always does it again. She tells him he needs help, but he blames her. She forgives him. After he leaves, she looks through an album of El Club de Los Flores, recalls walking with them along a beach. Hilda tells her mother Violeta that she doesn't want to go to school. She tells him her father promised never to do it again. Another woman waits for her husband to kiss her goodby, asks him for a check. The teacher tells Hilda's mother that her daughter is having problems in schools, asks if there are any problems at home. Violeta denies there are any problems except the normal ones for a girl of 13. ? arrives late for a meeting with Dalia. Violeta meets two other women for lunch, explains that she is wearing sunglasses because of her photophobia. One tells the others that she is going to divorce her husband because he has a woman on the side and comments that Violeta has a wonderful marriage with wonderful children and a loving hsuband. Violeta excuses herself from the table and goes to the bathroom. The women suspect something is wrong; one follows her to the bathroom. Violeta says nothing is wrong and explains away the black eye: fell down the steps. We see another woman, Narda (Gabriela Goldsmith), in an exercise class. A young man, her son (Cristian), picks her up and invites her out, but she tells him she has a date with Julio. Cristian sees a woman at the gym he hasn't seen before, says he will take her home when it turns out they live in the same vicinity. Everybody greets Benito en la vecinidad. He greets Margarita. Two girls carrying books walk. A young man bumps into one of them. She becomes angry until she looks at him. Another man and woman talk about when they will see each other again; he has his shirt off. In the restaurant, a man (Julio?) asks Narda to excuse him for being late. He tells her he doesn't know how he could be so lucky as to have her fix on him. He insists that she try a dish. When she bites into it, she discovers something hard. It is a ring. He asks her to marry him. Dalia talks on the phone; it appears that a politician they trusted has abused a young girl. [not completely sure I understood this correctly] When asked if she ever thinks about anything but work, she says no. Violeta drives her children to her mother's house. She tells her mother that she has to talk with her husband Luis alone, but swears there is nothing wrong. Her mother agrees to care for the children. She returns home. Dalia runs into a friend, Irene, and her husband. Dalia says that she sees Narda once in a while but none of the other members of the club and that she is divorced from her husband. Armando and his mother Sra. Calderon talk with the director of the school. They found the boy with marijuana. Violeta calls Luis to ask if he will be coming home for dinner. He says yes but wants a quiet meal. She looks at the stove, starts to turn the various knobs, recalls the arguments, etc. Hilda tells her grandmother that her father hits her mother a lot. Luis arrives home, says he smells gas, calls Petra, Violeta. He goes into the kitchen, she holds a lighter in her hand, tells him this is the last time he will beat her. There is an explosion.
8/6/02. Repeat: Violeta tells Luis it is the last time he will beat her. The kitchen goes up in flames. New: two boys talk about women: the one, Cristian, beds women all the time, the other warns him about AIDS. Cristian says that is a disease only of gays. Armando insists that the marijuana isn't his. Armando criticizes his mother for caring only about the "shame" of his being expelled. Armando's associate suggests that he take a vacation. Although he is an accountant, he has always wanted to be an actor. Nardo explains to Julio that she's been divorced twice, wants to wait. Julio doesn't want to wait. Narda is told she has a message from Marceline?. Police and an ambulance converge on Violeta's house. Her mother appears. In her office, Dalia tells ? that she hasn't fallen in love since ?. Irene tells her son that she ran into an old friend in the restaurant, Dalia, from El Club de Los Flores. He tells her he has met the love of his life, Florencia is in the past. Armando refuses to talk with his mother when they get home. His sister tells her mother that he is un maladaptado. Dalia holds a meeting and tells her lawyers she isn't pleased with the way they are handling the demonstrations [again, didn't understand this part very well]. Beatriz Carmona calls Dalia and gives her the news about Violeta. Margarita arrives home to find something on the stove boiling over, calls for Carmelita and her mother. Her mother seems to spend all day in bed, says she keeps forgetting. Her mother tells her that the girls have left but she doesn't know to where. In a boat, a boy (Tito?) and girl (Mercedes) kiss passionately, while Carmelita sits nearby and coughs. Carmelita tells Mercedes she is cold. Margarita looks for her girls and sees the pair kissing in the gondola. Margarita hits her, reminds her how often she has told her not to have anything to do with this "vago" who doesn't study but says his father will get him a job in his factory. Margarita warns the boy that she has an important lawyer as a friend. Armando calls his wife who tells him everything is fine, he should enjoy himself with his friends. Her daughter tells her she shouldn't believe Armando's denials. Dalia greets Narda in a restaurant. They haven't seen each other since Narda's last divorce. Narda shows Dalia her engagement ring. (Dalia knows the name of the waitress, Sol). Dalia tells Narda about the call from Beatriz, tells her there was an accident and Violeta died, leaving 3 children orphans. Narda recalls a scene from their teens. Dalia believes they should all get together for the funeral. Narda says she lost track of Margarita years ago. Narda tries to remember the name of her husband, Ramiro ?. It's not a common name, so they figure they can find it in the phone book. Margarita's mother says that she blames her for marrying Ramiro, says that if they hadn't divorced, they'd be living in a palace. Margarita regrets not marrying her real love, Ricardo. Armando's mother tries to talk with him. Armando admits the marijuana was his. She can't believe it. He says he's taken tachas, some cocaine, that's what she wants to hear, right? He objects to her calling him Armandito. His sister Cecilia enters the room to try to stop the argument. His mother tells him they will talk later when they are calmer, goes to her bedroom and wonders where she failed. Her mother comes to visit, says that Dalia called (she is excited) to say that Violeta has died. Claudio recites a passage to his friend in the bar, tells him he is an "actor", is tired of the job, the family, etc. At the funeral, the club's members reunite. Beatriz gives the album of photos to Narda who lost hers; Dalia still has hers. They look at the pictures. Irene's husband comes home and tells her about Violeta. Ramiro visits Margarita who reprimands him for the pittance he gives her every month. He says it was the judge's decision. To which she answers that the judge was a friend of his. She asks for more, he says perhaps in 6, 7, 8 months he could increase it a bit. Finally, he gets to the point: he got a call about her old friend Violeta. At first she doesn't seem to remember her, then does. He gives her the news, then leaves. Cristian tells his friend that Alicia is interested in him, this is the time to strike. His friend gets angry. The friend of Cecilia admits that she likes her brother, un bonbon. Cecilia admits she likes Cristian. Margarita gets off a bus and arrives at the funeral. Irene arrives a bit late. She is the only one whose name isn't a flower. She has brought violets. Violeta's mother takes the women aside and tells them that Violeta killed herself and her husband.
8/7/02. Narda discovers that she and Margarita leave near each other, decide to have drinks one day. Dalia tells Amparo she has to accuse her husband of beating her and raping her. Candida can testify in her favor. Narda invites Julio over to tell him that she wants to be his wife. ? warns Armando he had better pay him for/return the marijuana. Cristian is angry when he sees Cecilia with Narciso. Mercedes tells her mother she wishes she were dead (not sure if she meant her or her mother). Armando's mother demands to know where he was and why he was out when he had been punished. She slaps him when he talks back to her. She tells him to go to his room until his father returns. Armando's friend Carlos can't believe he has been faithful to Rosa, thinks it is unnatural. Narda tells Sergio she could have saved her friend, doesn't understand why women who are being beaten don't ask for help. Sergio offers an already drunk Dalia another whiskey. She says she never wants to fall in love. She cries: Violeta was pretty, happy.... Narda spreads her son Cristian's face with some kind of cream. She tells him that she has accepted Julio's proposal. Margarita tries to talk with Mercedes. Mercedes blames her for her father's not being there. Armando returns home to find Rosa crying. She tells him that Armandito was expelled for using marijuana. Armando doesn't appear to be too upset. Dalia goes to a bar and tells the bartender he is the closest man in her life, if he betrayed her she would commit suicide. He tries to tell her she has had enough. Irene tells Fernando she can't understand why Violeta did what she did. He advises her not to see her friends again, they are not good for her. As she tells Fernando about them, we see Narda arguing with Cristian, Margarita arguing with Mercedes, Rosa crying on Armando's shoulder, Dalia drinking alone. Irene talks of rooms and doors. He asks her in what room is she: she says in a happy room. Fernando tells her that her friends belong to a room in the past. He's also afraid that her friends know their secret.
8/8/02 - Nestor, another lawyer, sits down at Dalia's table; she tells him that maybe some day she will take him to her bed, but now; she does, however, leave him with the bill which makes him laugh. Margarita tries to explain to Mercedes why she divorced her father, but Mercedes continues to blame her for the way they live. Margarita tells her mother she is prepared to walk the streets to support her girls. Rosa tells Armando to talk with their son, but calmly and interferes when he raises his voice, insists that there be no violence, then comforts her son. Armando insists on medical tests. Irene talks with Narciso. He tells her that the girl he met says he isn't her type and they can be only friends. He admits it has been hard to forget Florencia. Cristian tells his mother that her marriage to her father failed as did her marriage to Victor. Margarita tells Don Roque that she will accede to his wishes in exchange for financial help. Narda's son tells her he'll accept her marriage but won't live with them. Cristian joins Raymundo and his father at a meeting. Eng. Carpio left. Cristian's father tells him that this is the second time he was late. Raymundo, his brother, will take charge of the new clients. Armando takes his son to the doctor. Armandito begs his father not to do this. Armandito does as his mother advised, admits the truth to his father: he uses drugs. He tells his father that he is sorry. His father tells him together they will overcome the problem. Florencia appears, tells Narciso she had reasons for going to Europe without telling him. She tells him she missed him.They kiss. Irene accuses her husband of treating their sons, medio-hermanos, differently and they know why.

Margarita saca a Brígida de su casa. Narciso discute con Raymundo sobre unas cotizaciones. Cristina se reúne con su padre. Narda le reprocha a Carmina que la haya dejado sola muchos años. Luvia descubre a Néstor y Dalia besándose. Irene acompaña a Rosa en el hospital. Fernando se molesta por la tardanza de Irene. Narda piensa en sus adicciones del pasado. Narciso busca a Cecilia en la universidad. Dalia se encuentra a su ex marido en un bar. Margarita busca a Ramiro. Brígida es blanco de un asalto. 8/12/02 - Irene asks her friends to keep her secret; they all say it would never occur to tell anybody, not even in bed. Narciso runs into Cecilia and introduces Florencia, who names herself his novia. So when Cristain re-joins her, Cecilia introduces him as her novio. The next morning, after sleeping with Florencia, Narciso tells her he no longer loves her. She guesses it is because of Cecilia and tells him it is all right if he wants an adventure. He assures her it has nothing to do with her. Armando collapses on the kitchen floor. He ends up in intensive care. Julio and Narda have dinner with his parents Octavio and ______. When he announces their coming wedding, his mother objects furiously. Narda is too old for him, can't give him children. She and her husband leave the table when Julio tells them he is not asking permission, simply telling them. Joaquin comes home early and kisses Irene passionately in the kitchen. Margarita finds her mother entertaining her ex-husband Ramiro and, after kicking him out, tells her that she is going to find her son and send her to live with him. Margarita accuses her of ruining her life, of not deserving respect. In the hospital, Armandito meets his uncle and is surprised. Florencia assures somebody on the phone that she will do what he wants, that's why she came back from Europe. Narciso asks Armandito why he made a particular business deal. Armandito tells Narciso it is his decision and they are only half-brothers. Cristian has lunch with his father who expects that he wants money. Cristian tells him no, that his mother is going to re-marry and he was wondering if he could move in with his father. He apologizes but says he has another wife and family, they've never lived together, that he has been a good father (money, car, etc.) Cristian pays for the coffee and says goodbye. Armandito feels guilty for his father's heart attack. Rosa tells Armandito that if Armando dies, she will follow, couldn't live without him. She tells him she doesn't understand him, doesn't know where she failed. She knows he is robbing the company, has stolen money from her purse. He swears that he has never done that. Dalia invites to her apartment after a drink and for another drink and .... Narda goes to a performance by her mother (a singer well past her prime). Narda's mother Carmina objects to her calling her "mama" in the dressing room, doesn't want her age known. Again, Narda asks her why Carmina sent her away to school and gets the answer that she has always gotten: Carmina thought it was the best for her. After her mother leaves the dressing room, she sniffs cocaine.
8/13/02 - When Dalia arrives home with Nestor, she finds her aunt there and has to send him away. After Narda leaves her mother's dressing room, her mother sees some cocaine "powder". Margarita tells Don Roque she's not the woman for him. Narda tells Agustin she is afraid, almost used cocaine again. But she pulls it out the minute he leaves her; he returns in time, tells her to respect his house or stop being his friend. When she gets home, she has messages from Irene about Rosa. Her mother Carmina arrives and asks her about the drugs. Florencia tells Armandito he likes to have sex with her because he wants all that belongs to Narciso, including the factory. Margarita's mother leaves and her daughter blames her. Dalia fells guilty for not going to the hospital. Rosa thanks Armandito for his support. Irene and her husband have a small argument because she came home so late from seeing her friends.
8/14/02 - While Irene, Lubia, Dalia and Narda are eating, they see Alejandro, Dalia's ex. Narda goes to his table, "mistakes" the woman he is with for his daughter, brings him back to the table. He greets them all, tells the waiter to give him the bill, which irritates his novia. Dalia, on the other hand, is furious about what Narda did and demands that they all leave. Margarita visits Ramiro who was trying to kiss Cristal. She asks if her mother is there but she isn't. Margarita looks everywhere for her mother Brigida. Irene tells Narda she shouldn't be so worried about her age. Julio tells Narda not to worry about his parents, he is marrying her and the two will have their own world. Lorena and Cristian argue about whether to go to a party, their relationship. In the hospital, Claudio confesses to Rosa that the night before his heart attack he was with another woman. Lubia and Dalia visit Narda to say goodbye before going to the airport. Dalia tells Narda that her aunt Lubia insisted she apologize for the scene at the restaurant. Lubia tells Dalia she hasn't forgotten Alejandro, to try and build something with Nestor because solitude is very cruel. As Claudio gets ready to leave the hospital, he tells Rosa how much he loves her, how grateful he is for her care. Irene checks her breasts for lumps and feels something. She tells her husband Fernando.
8/15/02 - Irene's husband tells her she must see a doctor. Dalia asks Cristian what is going on with him. Cristian tells her that she won't be happy with Julio. He knows her: she can't love just one man. And after each, she becomes depressed and starts using drugs. He doesn't want to go through that again. Margarita and Don Roque go to the morgue; it isn't her mother. Irene makes the appointment, reads what she has written of Narda's life. Claudio returns home to a big greeting. Rosa tells her mother that Armando was unfaithful. Narda visits Julio's mother. She reminds Narda how Julio suffered after the death of Leticia and appreciates what Narda did for him, but marriage is different. He has always wanted children and when the newness of the relationship wears off, the marriage will fail. Nestor and Dalia have sex. She admits afterwards that she didn't like it. She says it was too fast. He accuses her, subtly, of being frigid. She tells him to leave. Then she apologizes to him and he apologizes to her. She tells him they are obviously incompatible in bed. He suggests another try, but she says no. Rosa's mother tells her to forget what her husband told her, that's the way to maintain a marriage. Raymundo subtly implies that Narciso falsified his signature. Their father is tired of the constant squabbling between them. He decides to fire Bernardo and the secretary who handled the documents. Narciso tells his father he is going to leave the company. Margarita finds her mother in the hospital and asks her forgiveness. Raymundo tells Narciso that his mother died 25 years ago and he is 27 which means that Irene and his father were lovers when his mother was alive. Narciso attacks him just as Irene drives up. Narciso takes the blame for the fight and says it was due to work differences. Florencia tells Raymundo he has what he wants: free reign at the factory. But Raymundo tells her he isn't finished with Narciso. Dalia decides to go out and find herself a man. Irene goes to the doctor. Cristian and Cecilia make out in a car. She tries to stop him. Armando insists that Rosa listen to him.
8/16/02 - Rosa refuses to hear the details and he, finally, accepts her decision. Cecilia tells Cristian she doesn't want her first time to be like this. He can't believe she is a virgin. He follows her out of the car. She tells him she wants her first time to be with him; he tells her he won't pressure her. Narciso goes to a bar, recalls Raymundo's words. Florencia appears. They end up in bed; he asks her why she is willing to accept so little. She says she likes to live in the moment. The doctor tells Margarita that her mother's not remembering her address doesn't mean anything; she was under stress. He prescribes vitamins to strengthen her memory. A drunk Dalia approaches a stranger and seems to think he is Alejandro. The bartender takes her away from the table, tells her she has lost control. Irene tells her husband of the tests the doctor wants to do, tells him she isn't strong. Eugenio, one of Rosa's sons, tries to find out why she is crying, but she says it is just concern about her father. Margarita's mother is very difficult when she comes down to breakfast, asks Margarita to take her to where Nicandra is (the woman who saved her life twice the night before, and died doing it the second time - she was hit by the car that would have hit Margarita's mother). Narda tells Julio that she can't marry him, can't give him children. She admits that she talked with his mother. He admits that every man wants children, but he wants her, with or without children. She tells him that she's been pregnant, has raised a child, doesn't want to go through it again. She tells him they get along, enjoy sex, why change it? He tells her he doesn't want that kind of relationship: if she won't marry him then it is over. Irene tells Fernando she won't go for the tests because they are humiliating; her husband insists that she go. He tells her she is just afraid. Rosa and her husband argue about his health. Dalia wakes up and realizes she remembers nothing after talking with the man who tried to pick her up. Margarita's mother asks her to return to Ramiro. When Margarita says no, her mother tells her she is being selfish. Irene undergoes the tests. Narda visits Dalia, arranges an impromptu party, calls Rosa and Margarita who come by in the evening for drinks. Irene writes of her fear, in spite of the support of her husband, thinks of her friends who are all trying on clothes. Irene's doctor tells her they've found a 4 cm. tumor and must do a biopsy; if it is malignant, they will have to do a radical mastectomy.

Margarita le cuenta a sus amigas su angustia al ver desaparecida a su madre. Julio enfrenta a Cristian. Cecilia le cuenta a Esthela lo sucedido con Cristian. Rocío acosa a Armando. Esthela va a hacer un casting. Narda, Margarita, Rosa y Dalia le llevan serenata a Julio. Irene toma una decisión respecto a su enfermedad. Mercedes llega a su casa muy drogada. Armando confiesa a Rosa lo que realmente sucedió con "la otra". Irene se sincera con Narciso. Dalia se encuentra con un libro sobre el club de las flores. Fernando comenta a Raymundo sobre el padecimiento de Irene. Margarita exige a Gelacio que Tito se aleje de su hija, pues es un vicioso. Néstor visita a Dalia para pedirle otra oportunidad. Rosa y Armando llevan a los niños de día de campo. Julio busca a Narda en el gimnasio. Cecilia le pide a Rosa la lleve con su ginecólogo. Mariano busca a Cristian para hablar con él. USA 8/19-23/02. 8/19/02 - didn't watch.
8/20/02 - Rosa tries to seduce Armando. He tells her he wasn't able to have sex with the woman he was with. He leaves the bed for a minute and when he returns Rosa is sound asleep. She wakes up with a huge hangover. Mercedes and Margarita have a roaring fight. The next morning, Margarita tries to talk with her. Narciso tells his mother he knows now she was "la otra"; there is no other explanation for his age. She admits it is true and apologizes. He tells her he understands, it doesn't change his feelings toward her. She says they were in love but also did something wrong. Then she tells him why she wanted to talk with him, tells him she has a tumor in her breast. Narciso tells her she will be fine; it wasn't serious the last time. She tells him that it is much larger this time, that the biopsy is today. Narciso tells her that Raymundo is very resentful, doesn't think the two of them can reconcile, even though she asks it. Dalia receives a huge bouquet of flowers. Sergio shows Dalia a book by Azucena Casablanca that has to be about her and El Club de Las Flores. Dalia remembers a scene on the beach with her friends, in Verzcruz, as in the book. Sergio suggests it is one of her friends, but she says it couldn't be. She can't imagine, for example, Narda writing a book. Margarita goes to Tito's house to tell his father, and him, not to see her daughter again or she will put her lawyer friend on him. Tito's father promises he won't. When Tito tells him that he has Mercedes controlled, his father hits him. Tito struggles with him, tells him he is worth nothing. Dalia calls Irene to invite her to dinner, but Irene says she can't. In the gym, Narda is told that her credit card has been rejected and her bank account to. She tells her mother it must be Mariano.
8/21/02 - Narda tries to call Mariano to remind him of his responsibilies. Margarita tells Rita she is having problems with Mercedes, is afraid she is involved with drugs. Nestor asks Dalia for another chance and gets it. Rosa's family takes some kind of road trip; Rosa asks Armando to slow down; the youngest girl gets carsick. Armando pulls off to the side so the younger boy can urinate. Then there is trouble with the door. Rita reads the cards for Mercedes, tells her she is going to meet a man, a younger man, somebody from the past. Arturo, Cecilia, Armandito, Rogelio, Eduarda - hijos - and their parents arrive safely at the lake but Armando and Rosa argue. He just wants some peace and quiet. Carmina tells Narda she can't expect her ex-husband to pay her credit card bills. Julio arrives and carries Narda away. Narciso and his father wish Irene luck in the surgery. Rosa tells Cecilia marriage is like this, has its ups and downs. Cecilia asks her mother to take her to a gynecologist, she has decided to have sex with Cristian. Rosa tells her to wait until she is married, once she has given away her virginity no other man will take seriously, there are consequences, they both have still to finish college. Then Rosa pulls out religion": come priests may accept it, but the Church, no. Rosa tells her that the night of her wedding, her husband was proud of her and happy, doesn't she want the same thing? Cecilia admits she does. Julio takes Narda to a sauna where they make love. One of Armando's sons, Rogelio, asks him if he is seeing another woman because he always seems to be angry. Armando tells him life is full of responsibilities. Rogelio tells his father he should think of himself more, do what he wants. A man approaches Armandito, asks if he is smoking (which he was). He gives the stranger oner. Ramiro dines with his daughters. Mercedes is on his side but not the younger girl. He asks them if they would like to live with him. Narciso and his father tell thesurgeon to proceed. Margarita's mother asks her son Nacho to take her to live with him. He tells her he can't. When he offers her a few pesos, she gives him hers. Dalia greets the bartender Cosmé. He tells her that she created a scandal the last time she was there. Dalia laughs until he tells her she thought the man was Alejandro. Irene wakes up, asks what the doctors said. Her husband and son don't answer; she looks, asks Fernando why they let him take her breast. Fernando tells her there was no choice, the cancer had spread.
8/22/02 - Nestor joins Dalia at the bar but she, thinking of what Cosmé told her, begs off saying she doesn't feel well. She goes home and makes herself a drink, calls Alejandro but doesn't speak when he answers the phone. She dials again and his woman answers. He uses the dialback feature to find out who it was, recognizes Dalia's voice. She hangs up. He goes back to his novia and they drink to their soon-to-be wedding. He goes to the bedroom and calls Dalia from another phone. He asks her why she called twice. She says it was nostalgia; his novia hears him talking to her. He offers her his help but she rejects it and hangs up. When he returns to the table, she toasts "the most marvelous man in the world". Then she kisses him.
Narda tells her mother about Julio, says she told him he would re-consider. Narda asks her mother why she has done this: breakfast, the gym, spending the day with her. Carmina tells her it is because she loves her, is thinking of taking a leave from her work to spend more time with her. Narda attends another performance by her mother.
Margarita gets flowers from Don Roque. Her mother asks her what his interests are, tells her he is too old for her, asks if they have slept together.Margarita opens a box with old letters and pictures, remembers Ricardo, remembers her telling him it can't be. He knows it is because her mother disapporves because he is poor. Her younger daughter finds her crying, asks if she was thinking of Ricardo. Margarita is surprised she know the name. Carmelita says she has heard the name, wants her mother to be happy. Carmela tells her that she and Meche had lunch with their father and he asked them to live with him. Margarita finds birth control pills on the breakfast table and calls Meche.She denies that she having sex. Margarita slaps her.
Irene becomes hysterical when she discovers she has lost her breast. Irene's sister Elena comes to visit, at Fernando's request. Elena tells her she is her only sister, only relative since the death of their parents.
Julio's parents ask him about his business. He tells them that he and Narda have broken up, he realizes she was not the woman for him. He has met a young woman, Maritza, of 22. Julio suggests that Maritza and his mother go shopping together.
Rosa tells Armando she refuses to believe that Armandito uses drugs. He was high the night before.Rosa tells her brother Manuel that Armandito is using drugs, asks him to talk to her son. Armandito doesn't want to talk with his uncle, tells him to leave, never to return to the house again.
Sergio calls Dalia who is reading the book he gave her, wants to finish it and find out which of her friends is the writer.
Narda and her son, both with cucumbers on their faces, talk about Mariano and his cancellation of the credit cards. Cristian tells her that Mariano has decided to pay only his bills, not hers.
Estela doesn't understand how Cecilia could ask her mother to take her to the doctor because she wants to have sex with Cristian. Cecilia introduces herself to the girl who made a comment about her and Cristian. Cecilia slaps her. The girl tells Cecilia that she has slept with Cristian and doesn't care if she believes her or not.

8/23/02 - Margarita accuses Meche of sleeping with Tito. She tells her that the pills belong to a friend. Finally, she admits it is true, she is having sex with her novia. Margarita starts to slap her around. Mercedes tells Tito that her mother knows, had to tell her. Later, Margarita goes to Tito, tells him she is going to denounce him for using drugs. She demands to know where Meche is.
Irene's sister tells her that her new novel is a success, her friends must be proud of her. Irene says that they don't know. Irene insists on going to the bathroom, pushes her sister outside. She pulls off the bandages, looks at herself in the mirror and faints.
Raymundo tells his father he is truly sorry about what happened. Fernando tells him he is going to leave him at the head of the factory for a while so he can spend more time with Irene. Osvaldo arrives, prepared to sign the contract. Fernando gets a call from the hospital and leaves. Osvaldo tells Raymundo he has a business proposal to make him, in dolares. Raymundo makes him talk clearly: they are talking about fraud, about laundering money. Raymundo agrees, but for 80%. Osvaldo agrees, with 100,000 up front.
Julio introduces Maritza to his parents. His father asks Julio what he has in mind as Maritza goes out shopping with his mother Marina.
Narda meets Mariano, demands to know why he cancelled her credit cards. In response to his explanation that he is having financial problems, she calls him names and insults him. Mariano tells her he has an obligation to suport his son, not her. He tells her their marrige ended 24 years ago, he has a new family. He suggests that she get a job.
When Fernando visits Irene, she insists on showing him what she looks like. He tries to stop her, tells her she is acting like an egotist and she isn't like that. He leaves the room, tells his son and cuñada he doesn't know what to do with his anger at the destruction of part of her beauty.
Meche visits her father, tells him that her mother hit her, wants to live with him. He is thrilled.
Dalia presents her case of abuse and the maid, Candida, finally, testifies. Candida is forced to look at the accused who calls her a liar. After the testimony, Dalia tells Amparo and Candida that it went well. Sergio invites her out. Alone in the elevator, Alejandro joins her. She apologizes for the calls. Then she stops the elevator and kisses him.
Cecilia confronts Cristian and asks him if he has a "lunar". He admits he does. Cecilia says that Lorena is telling the truth.

USA 8/26-30/02. 8/26/02 - didn't watch
8/27/02 - Dalia asks Nestor where they are going, what does he feel for her, would he marry her? He is surprised by her questions, assumed she enjoyed her independence. She tells him she realizes she has nothing, as a woman, would like a husband, a home, a child or two. He thinks it is too early, but says he would like something more. The next morning, while she is sleeping, he gets up and copies the file on the Amparo case from her computer. He acts very loving at the breakfast table. When she goes to her office, she notices that the computer is on and there is a box of diskettes open.
Cecilia thinks of Narciso. Meanwhile he is with Florencia, but leaves her. Cristian sits down at her table, says they have a friend in common, Ceciila. She accepts a drink with him, spends the night with him. The next morning she says the night was fine but doesn't want to see him again.
Narda and her mother discuss men briefly: Osvaldo, Julio. The next morning, Narda reminds Cristian that the first rule in their house is to tell each other if one is not going to be home at night. Cristian apologizes, says he just fell asleep.
Armandito walks away from the breakfast table, calls his father a hypocrite. Rosa finds them fighting. Armando tells her that their son thinks he has a lover, says it isn't true. Rosa says she knows about it, believes her husband. Armandito thinks she is a fool. Then the conversation turns to his drugs. They tell him they want to help him, to understand him. He rejects them.
Alejandro talks wtih Brenda at breakfast, tells her that he ran into his ex-wife Dalia, they talked, kissed, went to her house and made love. Brenda demands to know if he still loves her. He tells her he loves her. When she admits she heard him on the phone with her, he tells her it wouldn't have happened if she had said something. He swears to her that it was a mistake, that he loves her not Dalia. He asks for his forgiveness and proposes to her. H tells her it will be the wedding she has always wanted.
Carmelita tells Meche she is hurting their mother who has worked so hard to take care of them.Meche insists their father will give her whatever she wants.
The doctors tells Irene the cancer hadn't metastasized. Fernando tells Narciso he needs him in the factory. Narciso says he has Raymundo. As they wheel Irene out of the hospital, they run into Rosa and Armando.
Margarita, Rita and the others protest.

USA, 8/28/02 - Irene tells Rosa she was just in for some minor surgery, cosa de mujeres. [lost electricity]

Date: 08-30-02 05:12 PDT Diane, I'm not sure exactly what happened on Wednesday (as opposed to Tuesday and Thursday), but I think these were the most important things: the 'discusion' between Don Roque and Margarita's mother (see Luis M's commentary about that); Cecilia's decision to sleep with Cristian -- she went to see him to tell him this, but then she changed her mind when he refused to use a condom. Irene and her husband are coming to terms with her mastectomy. Dalia met her ex-husband in the elevator and they ended up going to bed together -- but when she then said to him 'stay or leave forever,' he left, and apparently he's going to marry the young woman he's living with. Later, Dalia went to bed with Nestor, after first asking him if he was thinking of marriage. She was all happy, without knowing that (a) he's already married and (b) he sneaked out to her computer while she was still asleep and stole some confidential information about a case they are both working on (on opposite sides). A lot of other things happened too, I'm sure, but that's all I can remember. Hope it helps

USA, 8/29/02 - Cecilia tells Cristian she understands him better since meeting his mother but refuses to have sex with him without a condom.
Rosa tells Arturo to return the gameboy (or similar object) to the person who loaned it to him. Then he says he bought it with the money he earned on Sundays. His mother doesn't believe either tale and tells him he is punished until he tells the truth.
Fernando talks with Elena while Irene sleeps. She asks him what he would do if the cancer had killed Irene, would he remarry. He says no. She tells him that he married after his first wife, Valeria, died. He says it is different, he has lived a whole life with Irene.
Narda becomes upset when her mother gets a card from Osvaldo, hopes that they won't compete for the same man yet again. After a performance that evening, Osvaldo invites Carmina out but she refuses, saying she has plans with friends.
Dalia tells Narda that she and Alejandro ended up in bed. When Narda starts to pour a drink, Dalia asks her not to, admits that she is afraid of becoming an alcoholic, tells her she can't remember what happened the last time she drank. Narda assures her she is far from being an alcoholic.
Carlos takes a drunk Armando home. In bed, he says "a dónde fue el amor" and Rosa asks the same question.
Irene writes. Belinda shows Alejandro the invitations to their wedding. Rosa picks up her children at school.,
Irene sees her doctor who tells her she is doing well, that the nausea and loss of hair are common side-effects of radiation. She tells him she is uncomfortable about letting her husband see her, but he says that will change after the plastic surgery.
Dalia and Sergio go to the judge re the case; she asks Nestor why she hasn't heard from him in a week. He tells her that he had to go out of town. Nestor tells the judge he has proof that Candida lied.
Narda asks Cristian to be home at 7 for a party.

8/30/02 - The judge warns Dalia of the consequences. If the defense proves the witness lied, she could go to jail.
Elena tells Irene she wants to stay to help her out during the chemo. Gelacio, the drunk father of Tito stops Elena's car to beg; when she sees him, she steps on the gas and tells Irene afterwards it was the father of her son. Later, Elena tells Irene she hasn't the nerve to tell her child she isn't dead but abandoned him.
Fernando tells Raymundo that he and Irene weren't lovers before the death of his mother but can't explain because it is a secret. Raymundo says that unless he can explain, he will believe what he has the justifications for believing.
Osvaldo has lunch with Julio. Julio tells him he would like to invest. Somehow the conversation turns personal and Julio mentions his problem: he is in love with a slightly older woman who already has children. Osvaldo wishes him luck in the business and his love life.
Nestor tells Clara that Dalia isn't his lover. He slept with her just for professional reasons. Dalia enters his office and tells him she will destroy him.
Don Roque serenades Margarita in a restaurant; they kiss. Margarita apologizes. He asks for the opportunity to care for her and her children. She tells him it wouldn't work: lo quiere pero no lo ama. He asks her to tell him that she kissed him out of pity. She can't, gets up and walks away.
Tito meets Meche's wife and laughs, says her father likes "fresh young things".
Dalia asks an investigator to find out everything he can about Nestor Elorza.
Narciso, Irene and Fernando go to Rosa's for dinner. There, Narciso discovers that Cecilia is Rosa's daughter. When Julio, Narda and Cristian arrive at the house, Cristian tells his mother it is the house of his novia, Cecilia. As soon as Cristian sees Narciso, he starts a fight.

USA 9/2-6/02. 9/2 - holiday, no episode.
9/3/02 - The parents break up the fight. Cecilia's brother warns her about her novio: if he is this jealous now, what will he be like later? Narda insists that Cristian apologize, he refuses and leaves. Julio supports him. Margarita and her family arrive. Narda formally introduces her novio Julio. Margarita's mother says to her granddaughter that she could be his son.
The men and women talk separately. Rosa is surprised that her daughter has two boys interested in her. Irene tells Narda they shouldn't let the loves of their children affect their relationship, but Rosa says she must protect her daughter. While the women are eating, Dalia tells them about the book that seems to be about them when they were young. She asks which of them is the author. Narda laughs at the idea. Margarita says it couldn't be her and her mother says it isn't her either. Dalia asks Irene if she could be Azucena Casablanca. She says of course not; all she writes is her diary. Dalia insists that the writer knows her better than she knows herself, has tried to find out who she is, has had no success. Narda recalls a conversation with Violeta in college, something about una casa blanca, how wonderful it would be if somebody wrote about them. Dalia doesn't think it was Violeta but is determined to find out who it is. Alone together, Narda tells Dalia that she has decided to marry Julio. Among other things, he is rich. Dalia is surprised that she is so mercenary.
Meche tells Tito her father is very rich but very stingy. Cristal warns them that her father is coming and is very strict. When he arrives, Mercedes introduces Tito to him. He tells her there are rules and it is too late for a visit of this type. Tito supports her father and says goodnight. Ramiro reprimands Cristal for allowing a visit at this hour.
Narciso apologizes to Cecilia who tells him she can't understand Cristian's behavior. They talk for a long time and she thanks him for listening. Narcisio tells her that his relationship with Florencia is over. He kissees Cecilia.
Armandito and Cristian drink together. Armandito apologizes to Rocio and she accepts it.

9/4/02 - Nardo proposes to Julio and he accepts, to the applause of all. Armandito comes home high and calls Rosa and her guests some name. Rosa admits he has a problem with drugs and most of her friends suggest he force him to go into treatment. Shortly thereafter, they all leave. Rosa breaks down, cries, breaks a dish. Armando comes downstairs and they have an argument, keeping awake some of their children, awaking others. Armando tells her he feels empty inside. She asks what has happened to them and he tells her he doesn't know: they were two young people in love, then there was one child after another, and the malidita mortgage on the house which will never be paid.
Irene cries as she looks in the bathroom mirror, holding her prosthesis. Fernando comes to her bed, kisses her, touches her. She thinks he can't stand the way she is. She asks for how long they will sleep in separate beds. He says he does it to make her feel more comfortable. He admits he can't stand the prosthesis. She removes it from her nightgown, turns away from him, lies down and cries. He leaves the bedroom.
Dalia returns home, pours herself a drink, turns on the TV.
Narda goes home, starts to take off a sexy nightgown as she looks at Julio waiting for her in bed. But she has another of her nightmares in which all the other members, still looking youngm of the Club make fun of her aged self. Julio wakes her up still upset from the nightmare. She says she isn't going to marry her.
The next day, Brigida goes shopping and talks with a shop owner whose memory is worse than hers.
Narciso tells his parents that Manolo Fernandez has offered him work in Puerto Rico. He has decided to leave the University.

9/5/02 - Dalia admits to Sergio what happened with Nestor. Armando argues with Rosa's father (his boss and owner of the company) who admonishes him for his lack of enthusiasm for the job. Elena tells Irene some days she wishes she hadn't given up Tito. Dalia asks Beatriz if Violeta wrote a book under a pen name. Beatriz says she doesn't know anything. She asks her granddaughter. She remembers Violeta talking about her friends but nothing more. Rosa talks to a doctor about her son. She agrees to talk with Armando but tells Rosa they can't force the boy into treatment. She is more worried about Rosa who appears to feel responsible. Rosa admits she does feel responsible, she raised the boy. She also admits she is having trouble with her husband. He doesn't love her any more and she doesn't think it has anything to do with other women. Raymundo talks with Irene about their relationship and his relationship with Narciso. Don Roque tries to talk with Margarita about what happened between them. She doesn't want to discuss it, says she doesn't understand why she did it. ? offers Armandito easy money for a job (a robbery).

9/6/02 - Don Roque begs Margarita to give him a chance. Then Margarita joins the demonstration.
At first Raymundo thanks Irene again for all she has done for him but, again, asks her why she was his father's lover while his mother was alive. She tells him that his mother was very ill, felt his father needed her support, fell in love. She asks him to forgive her. He tells her he needs a reason not to hate her and Narcisco. All his life he has asked the same question and never received an answer that made sense.
Julio's mother refuses to talk with him, then tells him if he wants to ruin his life by marrying Narda, ruin it. His brother will marry and give her grandchildren. Julio tells her that he has made his decision, too, but his mother says he is young and will change.
Estela tells Cecilia that Cristian told her and Paco that the two had had sex.
Carmina gives Narda a choice, give them a chance to be mother and daughter or give it up completely and she will leave.
Dalia shows to Candida pictures of Violeta, tells her what happened to Violeta, how her testimony can help protect not just her employer but other women.
Rosa learns that Arturo has been expelled from school. Arturo tells her that his teacher accused him of stealing, but he didn't.
Tito offers to help Ramiro with his car. Tito tells him it is an electrical problem, tells him he will have to take the car to some kind of shop which the man says is way too expensive. So Tito suggests that he has a friend who is an electrician and can fix it and not take advantage of him.
Margarita calls her mother to tell her she has been arrested. Rita tells Margarita she should have called her lawyer friend rather than her mother. Don Roque has also been jailed.
Rosa calls Dalia, tells her she has read the book and it contains the whole story about Roman. Imagine what would happen if her family read the book.
Dalia calls Alejandro and Belinda answers. Belinda tells Dalia she'd like to talk to her. When Dalia asks why, Belinda says because they are both in love with the same man. Dalia laughs, says that she and Alejandro divorced years ago. Now they are just friends. In any case, says Belinda, they must talk.
Elena suggests to Irene that she see a doctor to deal with her depression. Irene says a doctor can't give her back her breast. Fernando hears Irene tell Elena that she can't accept what happened, how can she when her husband can't bear to have sex with her. He tells her that she has lost a breast and the two of them are going to confront it now.

USA, 9/9-23/02. 9/9/02 - Elena leaves the room. Fernando tells Irene that he loves her, that he, too, is affected. She reminds him that they used to make love any time, any place, now they sleep in separate rooms. He suggests they need therapy. She tells him the problem is his and walks away. But she returns and they embrace.
Margarita's youngest daughter returns home, finds out from her grandmother what has happened and goes with her to the police station.
Raymundo gives Francesca a ring and asks her to marry him. She isn't sure and he knows it is because of Narciso. He tells him some women are destined to be lovers and others to be mothers. He is offering her the chance to be his wife, something Narcisco won't do.
Cecilia confronts Cristian at school at what he has been telling people, tells him that a woman like her needs a man and he is far from being one. She tells him she never wants to see him again and walks away. Narciso finds her crying and comforts her. They share a first kiss and Narciso wonders if they will remember it in the future. She tells him she is afraid. Happiness is short; sorrow long. When Cecilia tells her mother she broke up with Cristian, Rosa tells her she is glad, he wasn't the boy for her. Thne Cecilia explains why. Rosa takes the opportunity to talk with her daughter, convince her she is too young to form another relationship, especially a sexual one.
Cristian goes home and tells his mother that Cecilia broke up with him. She tells him that there are lots of women but only one mother. She is pleased they broke up because Cecilia wasn't the girl for him. After she leaves for dinner with Julio, he tells himself she is right but he loves Cecilia.
Belinda asks Dalia if she still loves Alejandro. Dalia admits she does, but they have taken different roads in life. Belinda tells Dalia that she loves him, wants to give him a family. Dalia tells her that she knows Alejandro, that he can love only once and only one woman and that woman is she. Dalia tells Belinda she loves him and will fight for him. Belinda tells him she doesn't love him or she would let him be. Belinda says she will fight for the love of Alejandro.
Armando's abuelo sees him kissing a girl on the street and calls him to his car. He assures his abuelo that he doesn't love the girl. That pleases his abuelo who gives him money to take her to a nice hotel, warns him not to see her too often. Armando swears it is only a one-time thing. He takes her, Rocio, to a hotel room. But it isn't successful. Rocio tells him it will be better, after all this was his first time. He denies it was his first time.
Narciso goes home, happy about Cecilia, and tells his mother. She isn't happy for him, says it is too hard: Cristian is Narda's son, Cecilia is Rosa's daughter. She becomes angry, agitated and he has to calm her down. She tells him she loves him. Narciso tells his father that his mother needs his support. Narcisco accuses his father of abandoning his wife since the operation.
Julio and Narda are joined by Julio's new partner and his woman.
Carmelita waits in the jail while her abuela visits Margarita. Margarita asks her mother to call a lawyer, but not Dalia.
Tito is pleased with his success with Meche's father Ramiro. The trick with the car worked and he knows where Ramiro's office is.
Armando is surprised to find Rosa's door locked (she does seems to have been sewing). He tells her he is going to commit Armando to a clinic, takes his bedding to sleep in the living room again. When Armando arrives home, they start arguing almost at once.
Irene sees Margarita being arrested on the evening news.

9/10/02 - Irene tells Fernando about Margarita being arrested. He becomes angry when she wants to help Margarita, admits he thinks the "club" is a funny thing from childhood, doesn't understand her concern.
Armandito meets the shrink at home, guesses immediately who she is and why she is there, is quite rude. But the doctor understands, gives him her card should he ever want to talk with somebody who will listen.
Narciso tells Cecilia his parents oppose his idea of the leaving the university and admits that now he is not as sure as he was of his objectives, in part because things at home have become complicated and he feels somehow responsible for his mother's illness. Then he confesses to her that Irene had a mastectomy and Cecilia promises not to tell anybody, especially his mother's friends.
Belinda tells Alejandro that she met with Dalia, knows she loves him. Belinda tells him it isn't fair that a woman who thinks of him once in a while should be worth more than she, who has given up so much for him. She gives him a choice.
Candida testifies in Dalia's trial. She is asked very strongly if she has been paid or forced to testify this way.
Irene goes to the jail, finds out from Margarita what happened, tells her they have to call Dalia.
Margarita's mother asks Ramiro for help. He tells her he doesn't have the money to hire a lawyer, blames it on the fall of the Twin Towers; his daughter is very disappointed in him.
Rosa talks with the school principle who assures her that several witnesses identified Arturo as the thief , and it wasn't a one-time thing. They have been losing things all year.
Armando confronts Rocio about dating his son. Don Samuel saw them. Rocio tells him that Armandito is too young for her. She prefers older man, like him. Armando tells Rocio there has been and will be nothing between them. Rocio tells him she loves him and is sure that one day he will love her in return.
Elena offers Fernando all her support, tells him she loves them both very much [but, I suspect, him especially].
Cecilia tells Cristian he saw her kissing Narciso because they are novios.

9/11/02 - first 5 minutes usurped by news but, apparently, Cristian and Narciso fight again over Cecilia..
In the jail, Carmelita tells Irene what Brigida and Margarita haven't told her, that they are poor.
At the factory, Armandito tells his father he isn't going to stop seeing Rocio.
Osvaldo calls Narda and invites her to dinner at his house. Later, Julio asks Narda's opinion of his potential associates Osvaldo y Anel. She approves. At the same time Osvaldo asks ? her opinion of Narda. She bets him a trip to New York that it is money that interests Narda.
Patricio introduces himself to Sr. Marin re a television job, says he's interested en la political social. It's clear that the boy Patricio and Marin have different opinions about what a TV station should do, but Marin agrees to hire him because of his uncle's recommendation and Patricio seems all too willing to modify his principles.
Armando talks with Raúl, the head of a drug rehab clinic The doctor tells Armando it will be better if his son takes the initiative.
Rosa goes to Narda's house and demands that she stop Cristian from dishonoring her daughter, from telling all his friends. Narda defends her son, tells Rosa her attitude is old-fashioned, virginity went out of fashion 20 years ago. Rosa tells her that she has raised her daughter as she was raised, expects her to be married in white. In any case, Narda tells her that she saw Cecilia and Cristian making out on her sofa. They argue some more, then Rosa leaves.
Meche talks with her father Ramiro about helping her mother get out of jail. When he refuses, she is angry, says it is one thing to have differences with her mother and another to want her to be in jail. She tells him that her mother was right; he hates her. Ramiro gives her a choice: live under his rules or return to her mother. Meche thinks to herself that she hates her father. Ramiro orders his wife to lock the door.
Later, Narda barges into Cristian's room, finds him with a girl in his bed, calls her a golfa (quite a contrast to the position she took with Rosa that sex was natural). The girl leaves and Narda tells him she thought they had an agreement, that he wouldn't do anything to hurt her friendships. He accuses her of breaking house rules (entering a bedroom without knocking). Then she tells him he shouldn't talk about his sexual relations with his friends; he counters that he tells her everything. She says that's different because she is his mother, tells him she must have raised him wrong. He says it is too late to change, that they should just let each other alone.
Armandito meets with the gang: Tito, Bruno,
Irene pays the bail for all the protestors. Fernando becomes angry when she is late, doesn't like the fact that she is helping the protesters, waiting at the jail for them to be freed. A bit later, he has a confrontation with Narciso, unfavorably compares him to Raymundo.
At dinner, Narda tells Osvaldo that money isn't everything, but it helps. She assures him that Julio will go through with the deal. Then Osvaldo puts his hand on her knee.
Rosa asks Cecilia what really happened between her and Cristian, did she have sex?

9/12/02 - Rosa and Cecilia argue about whether or not she has lost her virginity with Cristian. When Cecilia says no, Rosa doesn't believe her, so she says yes, etc. When Armando comes home and hears about the argument, he criticizes Rosa for making things worse. Alejandro visits Dalia, tells her to stop bothering him and Belinda. Dalia asks him to look closely at her, as a woman, tell her if he means what he says. He kisses her. They make love, then they talk about the past. He leaves her for a moment, calls Belinda and starts to lie about where he is, then tells her the truth. Dalia hears him tell the dead phone that he doesn't know how to explain, his love is stronger than her.
The gang prepares (Armadillo, Superman, Bruno, Marimba, Armando, Tito, Medusa) for the robbery, decide who does what. When Tito tries to give Armando a pill, the leader stops him: no drugs while working. They get the combination from Ramiro, tie up him and his wife. Armando and another guy tie up Mercedes and the other guy tries to rape her. Armando remembers his uncle raping him as a boy, loses his mask and runs off, passes Tito on the stairs. Meche hears him call Tito's name. When Tito enters her room, the masked guy tells him that Armando tried to rape her, hit her. The safe doesn't open. When one of the gang threatens to kill Ramiro's wife, he agrees to go downstairs and open the safe. He does. But as the burglars leave, Ramiro gets his gun and shoots, hits Tito in the leg. But they get away. When Armando comes in late at night, Rosa hears him, goes down the steps and hold him. He asks her to help him.
Narda says goodbye to Osvaldo, tells him she knows he likes her but she is a one-man woman, engaged, and he came into her life too late.
Don Roque serenades Margarita. In answer to her question, he admits he's been in love a couple of times. She tells him she has loved only once, but it wasn't her husband. They kiss. Later, she wakes up in bed with him, gets dressed.

9/13/02 - The police question Ramiro's family. Mercedes doesn't tell them she heard the name Tito. Ramiro tells the police that he is ruined, on the streets. The police tell Ramiro there is nothing to go on. He reminds the officer that he shot one in the leg. When he suggests they check the hospitals, etc., the detective mentions the costs involved. In short, he wants a bribe to do his job and Ramiro tells him not to worry about money.
When Margarita gets home, she admits to her mother that she slept with Don Roque. Then Mercedes calls her and tells her that she was almost raped.
Fernando and Irene argue again about the help she gave Margarita. Rosa tries to talk to Armando about their son. But she isn't sure that a clinic is the solution. Then she tells him that Arturo was expelled for stealing.
Raymundo and Narciso argue about who is the favorite son, which one works harder, etc. But when Narciso tells him he needs a psychiatrist, Raymundo almost starts a fight that Irene has to stop. Later, she sees him with his suitcase. He tells her he is going to a hotel, search for an apartment. There are just too many problems at home and at work with his father and Raymundo; besides, it is time for him to be on his own.
While Dalia and Alejandro eat, she spends all her time on the phone discussing business. Alejandro tells her there are other people in her office who can do the work, that if she dies, the world will go on without her. He asks her to turn off the cell phone and she apologizes, but then she tells him she has to call her aunt Lubia Marcelin. A man answers, and her aunt tells her it is her newest nephew. When he finally gets her attention, he asks her if she would give up everything for him. But the phone rings and she picks it up. He repeats the question. She tells him she doesn't understand. Then she asks him if he would give up everything. She tells him she would, but I don't believe her.
Julio's mother meets Narda, tells her she has realized that she can't stop their wedding. She wants to have a good relationship with her. She invites Narda to a reception for Patricio to congratulate him on his success.
Rosa apologizes to Cecilia, shouldn't have doubted her. Arturo swears to his father that he didn't steal. His father believes him, says he will find a new school for him. Arturo tells him he wishes his mother believed him. When Armando leaves his son's room, he feels ill.

9/16-20/02. Rosa puts Armando to bed and then they talk with Armandito about detoxification. Armandito says he doesn't want to go, his friends have told him that in places like that they torture you, even rape you. Then he thinks about the robbery and near-rape and tells his parents he will go. Brigida confronts Don Roque, tells her she doesn't approve of him. The gang discusses what they need to do with Tito.
Margarita goes to Ramiro's home to pick up Mercedes who asks her to forgive her and embraces her. Ramiro tries to bribe Mercedes with the "luxuries" of living there, seeing her boyfriend. then he tries to threaten Margarita with fighting for custody. But Margarita and Mercedes leaves. Ramiro's wife sees Ramiro take money from another secret place, talk to himself about the money in the stock market, swear to himself that he will take Margarita's daughters away from her. When Meche arrives home with her mother, she tells her that she loves Tito, doesn't want to lose him. She swears that he is good, begs her mother not to do to her what her mother did to her with Ricardo. Margarita tries to tell Meche that was different. Ricardo was poor, but he studied, he worked. Meche begs her mother to let her learn from her own mistakes. Margarita concedes but begs her to use protection, doesn't want her to tell a child that it ruined her life. Meche promises her that she and Tito are always careful. Later, Meche tells Brigida that she is wrong about Ramiro; all he cares about is money. Brigida doesn't believe her, tells her that her mother has a lover. Meche doesn't believe her.
Dalia talks with Sr. Espinoza about a fraud. Then she calls Antonio and tells him the information she has about Nestor. Dalia asks Sergio to take an envelope to El Tiempo de México, to the director, assures him it must be treated with care. Later, Dalia's car breaks down and she swears that she will have a talk with that mechanic Beto.
When Alejandro gets home, he finds a note and a video from Belinda. She thanks him for loving her for 2 years, tells him she will always love him, then says she is pregnant: that was the surprise she had for him. She promises to love the baby, never to say anything bad about his father. She asks him not to search for her.
Irene and Dalia have lunch with Margarita. Irene asks her why she hid the fact that she is poor. Margarita acts offended, tells them that she can get along without the help of anybody. Margarita tells them that they have secrets, too, right. Irene swears she didn't want to offend her or make her feel bad, just wants to hurt.

9/17/02 - Margarita tells Dalia and Irene about the robbery. Narda joins them. They argue a bit about Narciso Chicho), Cristian and Cecilia. Rosa arrives late and starts the argument again. But Dalia interrupts to say she and Alejandro are back together. Then they start to talk about sex. Irene tells her friends that with the years, their passion only grew, until the past few weeks. Fernando hasn't touched her in weeks. Narda asks if he has a lover. Irene tells them that they all have secrets. Dalia feels that Irene's secret is really hurting her, tells her to share it. She admits that she had a mastectomy, has been converted into a monster that Fernando doesn't want. She leaves the table. Narda says she couldn't stand to lose a breast. All of a suddent, the problem of Cristian and Cecilia and Narciso seems small. They go after her and she tells them she feels much better. Alone with Margarita, Dalia says somethimes she thinks of having children. They're waiting for Sergio. Irene and Narda talk about the importance of regular breast checkups and mamograms. And we learn that Irene is the only one who shares Narda's secret: something that happened to her in boarding school.
Julio negotiates with Anel, objects to the new percentages. Alejandro finds Belinda who tells him she invented the story of a pregnancy. Cecilia's friend warns her that Cristian will try to break up he and Chicho. Meche tells Carmelita what happened to her. Carmelita asks her to tell her mother when she goes out.
Raymundo tells Florencia he won't be happy until Irene and Narciso are out of the house, the factory and his life. Tito's father tries to convince him to finish school or get a job. Margarita runs into Don Roque in the grocery store and she is obviously uncomfortable. Sergio assures Dalia he turned the papers over to El Tiemp. They meet Nestor before the judge makes a decision. Margarita tells her children that Irene had a tumor. Meche asks her if Brigida was telling the truth when she said she had a lover. Brigida arrives home and starts calling Margarita names. Then Carmelita goes into a convulsion. Narda accompanies Irene during a chemo session. Carmelita is taken to the hospital where Margarita runs into Ricardo, now a doctor.

9/18/02 - Dalia wins the case that Nestor was defending. Irene talks with her doctor about her feelings, Fernando. Julio wonders how Narda knew she hadn't signed the contract with Osvaldo Julio's brother Patricio greets himm and introduces Gamelon to Narda which upsets Julio. Irene prepares a romantic evening for Fernando, they kiss, but he can't continue, can't get past his feelings. Dalia prepares a romantic dinner for Alejandro.
Margarita tells Ricardo what happened. He tells her he'll do whatever he can for her. As he leaves her, she tells him he succeeded. He is a doctor.
Fernando argues with Raymundo about his firing 10 employees. Raymundo tells him that lots of people lose their jobs in this economy, the 10 aren't needed here. Fernando tells him that this company has values, they are going to re-hire them.
The family takes Raymundo to the clinic. The doctor has Armando sign for his son, tells them there will be no communication with the family. Rosa disagrees, but the director says the rules are important, their son will need much discipline to succeed.
Raymundo talks with Osvaldo about his success so far. Narciso no longer works in the company. His next goal is to get him out of the will.

9/19/02 - Alejandro tells Dalia that Belinda left him a video and left the house. She asks him how he feels. Strange, he says. He asks her to leave her office. When she refuses, he leaves.
Fernando apologizes to Irene, doesn't know what to do.
Julio and Pato (Patricio) talk about their lives. Julio tells his brother he is courageous to be willing to live the life he wants to live, but admits it is hard for him to understand.
Narda talks with Julio's parents, tells Octavio she thinks that Julio's refusal to sign the contract with Osvaldo is prejudicial to him. Octavio tells her that Julio must have his reasons, but Julio's mother supports her and agrees to help. Both women try to change Julio's mind. That night, Narda fights with him about his decision, insists that he is making a mistake, "bribes" him by saying he doesn't trust her judgment and his business will be her business unless they marry por bienes separados. Then she asks if they will and he tells her they will talk about it later.
Armando and Rosa return from the clinic and, for the first time in a while, sleep in the same bed. In the clinic, the doctor tells Armandito he will take two baths per day, there are no special privileges, he will wear a uniform. In his clothes, the doctor finds marijuana. The doctor is like a sadistic marine seergeant. He hits Armandito's hand hard with a bar of some kind.
Narciso and Cecilia argue because she won't tell her parents about their relationship.
Dalia goes to a bar, talks a lot with the bar tender, lets a man, Patrick, pick her up. The bartender warns her to stay away from the man. When Alejandro gets home, he finds Cielo, the maid, asleep on the sofa, waiting for Dalia to come home.
Patricio talks with Estela in a bar about the difficulty of making even his friends understand.
Irene starts to write again. Dalia has sex with Patrick. Margarita waits in the hospital next to her daughter. Rosa caresses the cheek of the sleeping Armando. Narda looks at an expensive necklace. Women who believe in the morning. Dalia wakes up alone in a strange room.

9/20/02 - Dalia tries to remember what happened the night before, feels ashamed. Armandito lies awake in the dormitory.
In the clinic, the boys are awakened early and pushed out, like soldiers. The doctor tells another boy that his father can't visit him today. The boys do calisthenics in the morning. Then they are hosed with high velocity hoses full of cold water
Cecilia asks her mother if she'd mind if she dated Narciso. Rosa tells her that he's ok, but a relationship with him "no le conviene". Cecilia demands an explanation but Rosa tells her that she can't give a reason, it's something private. Finally, Rosa agrees to betray a secret, has to do with Irene. Cecilia tells her mother that none of them (Fernando, Irene, Narciso) is responsible for what happened. Rosa calls her egotistical, insists it is sufficient reason not to date him.
Florencia visits Irene, learns that Narciso no longer lives there. Florencia says she knows that he doesn't get along with Raymundo, then asks for his address. But Irene tells her that if he hasn't told her where he is, it is because he doesn't want anything more to do with her. She tells Irene she loves him; Irene tells her to find somebody else. Florencia pretends to feel ill and leaves the table; Irene follows. Irene tells her that she will tell Narciso she wants to talk to him. Irene calls Narciso at his new apartment, tells her he is moving in. She tells him that Florencia called, seemed sick, vomited.
Ricardo conducts a series of examinations on Carmelita, tells Margarita she can go home. He also tells her that her daughter needs more studies that can't be done in the clinc. She thanks him and he says that's what friends are for, tells her if she needs anything...Margarita learns from a nurse that the MRI will cost 8-10,000 pesos.
Narda's trainer Augustín asks why she was so distracted during class. She tells him she had an argument with Julio about the contract. The two have lunch. Narda tells him that Osvaldo promised her a lot of money and she plans to get it. No matter how suspicious Augustín is of Osvaldo, she'll take his money because one day she may not be able to get or hold a man.
Dalia returns home and is surprised to see Alejandro. He guesses she thought he had gone forever. He can tell she was crying and drinking. He suggests that she has a problem with the way she drinks; she denies it and takes another drink. They argue about her drinking; she blames him for her drinking. She tells him she drinks because she is unhappy, in spite of all her success, and blames him. He returns her keys, asks her what life has done to her and leaves. That's what she asks herself "que me pasó".
Ramiro says goodbye to his wife, tells her not to go out or let anybody in. She goes to his office and finds the hidden box of money, steals a packet.
Sergio shows Dalia the news article she planted. Inhis office, Nestor sees the article, guesses it was Dalia.
Irene hires a detective to find some people.
Florencia learns that she is six weeks pregnant.
Narciso greets Cecilia and Estela. Cecilia tells him she loves him a lot. Then she tells him that she talked with her mother.
Rosa and Armando talk with her parents about Armandito.

9/23/02 - Rosa's father Samuel blames Armando for the problems of his son. Rosa asks her mother not to tell the rest of the family.
In the clinic, Armandito works cleaning the floor. The director gathers the boy and asks them what is celebrated on 2/24. The boy who answers correctly gets a double ration. The boys who don't know the year get a slap on the palm It is 1821. Then he asks about cinco de mayo. Then he asks who wrote a book; None know, all are punished the same way. Fue Morelos, but they don't know who he was. He tells them they are a shame to their families, their country. Nobody will get dinner. Then the director takes Sandra into his office; an older boy tells Armandito he is going to rape her again. Another gives him some cocaine. He goes to the bathroom and takes it. The director tells Sandra it is their secret, as always, rewards her with cocaine.
Carmina gives Cristian a shirt. Narda tells Carmina that her statuettes signify abandonment to her. Carmina tells her that if they are going to get along, they must talk about the past. Narda doesn't believe she killed her father in self-defense, although she was judged innocent. Carmina recalls how he entered the theatre, began to threaten, shout, he took out a gun, it fell to the floor, she picked it up. He came after her and she shot. He fell and died. Then she, Narda, walked onto the stage and asked her what happened to her father. She embraced Narda, asked her to forgive her, said it was an accident. Narda tells her it changed her forever. Narda doesn't believe her father went crazy, he went there because she had a lover. Narda saw her with "el musico". Carmina admits she was weak, committed a mistake, but she needed a man by her side, a man who would love her. Narda tells her that's because her father was home, caring for her. And after he died, she was sent to a boarding school, where she was known as the daughter of a crazy woman, where so much happened. Carmina has heard this before, asks what happened. Narda shuts up, days "cosas de niñas". But she tells her mother she will never forgive her for lying about her father.
Narciso asks Cecilia if she knows why her mother doesn't approve of him. He invites her to their apartment, although it has no furniture. She wants sushi, he wants a massage.
Ramiro's wife seeks Roberto Fernandez (Tito). Mercedes is with Tito who lies about why he is on crutches. Ramiro's wife hides from Mercedes. She tells Tito she knows he was one of the men who robbed the house, heard his name called, wants him to kill Ramiro. She hates him, is tired of his maltreatment, but can't leave him because he bought her from her parents and continues to pay them. He tells her he isn't a murderer, but she offers him all of Ramiro's money and he accepts. She tells him that Ramiro walks in the park every day, to take care of it when he has recovered from his wound.
Margarita tells her mother they need 9,000 pesos for the medical studies her daughter needs. Irene comes by and greets them. Margarita tells Irene she can't go to Narda's party, Carmelita had an epileptic attack. Irene visits Carmelita who tells her mother to go to the party. Meche assures her that she will take care of Carmelita.
Narda visits Julio, promises not to interfere in his business again. He tells her he doesn't understand why she is on the side of Anel and Osvaldo. She tells him she isn't, she just wants the best for him.
Nestor runs into Dalia's office; Dalia tells Claudia to call the police. Dalia admits she did it to pay him back; he hits her and Dalia pulls out a gun. The guards finally get into the locked office and drag Nestor out. Dalia becomes hysterical, tells them all to leave. Sergio suggests to Dalia that they call Espinoza and arrange for security. She wants to file charges against Nestor but doesn't want bodyguards, decides not to go to Narda's party. Sergio tells her he will always be there for her.
Doña Lubia arrives at Dalia's apartment. From Cielo's reaction, Lubia guesses that Dalia is still drinking.
Ramiro tells ? he wants to get custody of his daughters. When he is asked why, he admits it is because he is tired of her throwing her old boyfriend in his face. He is willing to pay whatever it takes; he hates her for never loving him.
While dressing, Rosa tells Armando she isn't anxious to go to Narda's party, doesn't like that type of place. When he looks for something, he finds the book Flores. She takes it with her. She joins Margarita and Irene in the car. She explains to Irene she has the book because it contains the story of Ramon. Meanwhile, Narda and Julio are in bed. The phone rings. She doesn't answer and Julio hears a message from Osvaldo.

9/24/02. Narda succeeds in explaining Osvaldo's call. He tells her, again, not to interfere in his business. The deal he is being offered would cost him millions. She seems surprised. He tells her he will treat her as a queen, but concentrate on her son, the house and shopping and leave the business to him. She agrees. They kiss and makeup.
Samuel tells his wife not to give her daughter any money; if they need it, they must ask him.
Dalia is thrilled to find that her aunt has come for a visit, lies about the black eye. When she tells Lubia she is going to a party at the disco, her aunt immediately decides to go with her. Dalia tries several ways of discouraging her, finally telling her the truth, that there will be male strippers.
Florencia meets Osvaldo and Anel, tells Osvaldo she has completed her part of the deal. He tells her she hasn't: she hasn't captured Narciso. He reminds her of the debts her father has with him. She asks him what he wants. Back home, she thinks of her pregnancy, the conversation, calls her father just to ask how he is.
Samuel has a business meeting with Fernando, tells him he has set up an apartment with several young women. Fernando agrees to go with him and learns the two rules: never twice with the same woman and always pay. Samuel takes Fernando to his apartment, explains that he has a person contract the women, who come only once, for various friends of his. Samuel introduces Deseo to Fernando. He has sex with her, hears Irene's voice in his head, pays her and leaves. He just tells Samuel he must leave, but Deseo apologizes to Samuel.
At the disco, Irene, Margarita and Rosa drink and wait. Dalia and Lubia arrive. The show starts. Irene tells Dalia that Alejandro is not the only man in the world. Dalia refuses a drink at first, then takes one. Dalia and Carmina finally arrive. Later, Dalia, Irene, Rosa and Margarita go up on stage and join the dancers. But when the song is over, Dalia runs off. When they follow her, they see her black eye, washed away by tears. She says she has always wondered why abused women don't defend themselves. Now, she knows.
In another bar, Cristian and ? drink. ? sees the female singer embrace an older man and shakes his head.
Narciso and Cecilia drink on cushions in his otherwise empty apartment. They kiss, she takes off her blouse, he asks if she is sure. They make love. Afterwards, she tells him it was wonderful.

9/25/02 - Dalia tells her friends it was Nestor and he will pay. They convince her to go back to the disco.
Fernando tells Samuel he simply couldn't, wasn't right. He's been unfaithful a couple of times but circumstances are different now.
The director finds drugs and calls out Armandito and another boy. They are whipped. Armandito wakes up strapped to a bed.
Cristian serenades Cecilia; she tries to ignore it but her father won't let her. Armando tells Cristian to leave and the children throw things at them. He punishes his children with a water fight.
Narda wakes up from another nightmare and Cristian asks her not to marry. He doesn't want Julio to live in their apartment. is afraid things will change for him, that the rules will be the same. She assures him they won't. He's especially worried about the rule against drugs in the house; he's afraid that Julio will cause her to turn to drugs again as she almost did the last time they had trouble. She admits she's not a mother like other mothers, but she loves him. He's afraid that when she has problems with Julio and needs to escape, she'll escape to drugs. She tells him she won't, there are other forms of escape. But he isn't sure, doesn't want to see her tied to a hospital bed again.
Lubia tries to talk to Dalia at breakfast, but she says she isn't ready. Then Lubia suggests they both go to Veracruz, time and distance may help. Margarita pretends to accept Tito for Meche's sake, but tells Irene he is worthless. Roque tries to give Margarita money to pay for Carmelita's studies, but she refuses; Irene is going to take care of matters. Cecilia talks to Rosa about Narciso but can't get her to change her mind about him. Florencia tells Narciso she's pregnant

9/26/02 - Florencia tells Narciso that the baby is his and she loves him. Narciso thinks about it, then tells her that he isn't ready to be a father doesn't want to be the father of the baby of a woman he doesn't love. He tells her she must decide what she wants to do. She refuses to accept sole responsibility. He tells her he will support either decision she makes and support her. Irene and Margarita take Carmelita to the hospital for her tests. Doña Rita and Don Roque argue about the cheap clothes from China. Dalia tells Sergio about her night at the striptease club and tells him that she doesn't want her aunt to know about her problems. Nestor Alorsa is arrested. He gives the police an amparo for the ahorra? The police tell him the amparo clears him of the financial issues, but there are also charges of assault and intent to murder against him. Ricardo talks briefly with Irene, recalls playing with her son Javier. Margarita corrects him...and obviously has illusions about him. Pato and Estela argue about her going around with her much older boss. Estela reminds him that she has kept his secret about being gay, about being in love with Cristian; she asks him to respect her decisions.
Rosa's mother suggests that she send her son to a clinic abroad to avoid rumors.
Osvaldo and Anel send Narda a gift, a car. Her mother doesn't think the gift or the messenger who brought it is decent, asks her how she will explain it to Julio. At the same time, Julio learns they've received the contract, but the name on it is neither Osvaldo nor Anel. Narda and Carmina argue more about the car; Narda sees nothing wrong with accepting it, soon Julio and he will be socios, it's like a wedding present. Finally Narda blows up and says that at least she didn't kill her husband.
Irene and Margarita talk about her son. Margarita promises to talk with Ricardo. Irene wonders again if she should tell him but is afraid of being rejected. Carmelita asks irene to be her madrina at her first communion. Irene goes to pay the bill and discovers that Ricardo didn't charge for the tests. Margarita invites Ricardo to Narda's wedding feast and learns he never married, because he never forgot her.
Cristian cataches up to Cecilia on the street. Estela tells Narciso the man she loves loves another; confesses it is he that she is interested in. He is drunk and kisses her just as Cecilia arrives.
In a meeting, Armando's boss Samuel tells him and a co-worker that books sales are down, although the novel Flores de Viento is selling well. Samuel asks Armando about Armandito and his home life. Armando tells him there is nothing wrong at home. They have, apparently, an old argument: help or interfere. Rosa's mother tells her she should be ashamed of the fact that her son is a drug addict. Rosa realizes that she is right, and, moreover, that she is old-fashioned, unable to cope with this new world.
The doctor leaves food by Armandito's bed but, of course, he can't eat because his wrists are strapped down.
Sergio tells Dalia she should take a few days off, go to Veracruz. She agrees.
Rosa and Samuel decide they must send Armandito to a clinic abroad.

9/27/02 - Margarita admits that she has never forgotten him either, has often looked at his picture at night, knew she made a mistake soon after she married him, but she does have her daughters. He responds, coldly, that errors are costly. She says she has paid. He has to go to surgery; she invites him again. She seems happy with his answers, but he seems to harbor resentment. Irene tells Margarita that Ricardo is one of the owners of the clinic.
Estela tries to convince her mother to leave her men, live with her.
Ramiro meets with Brigida who tells him about Carmelita. He gives her some money.
Osvaldo explains to Anel that it is much easier to negotiate with the ambitious Raymundo than with Narciso but since he will be co-owner of the business one day, it is necessary to wrap him up, too. She tells him that Narda accepted the car, which pleases him. He is sure of her ability to manage Julio.
Dalia gives her testimony then visits Nestor in jail. He tells her that he never planned to kill her and she deserved the punch because of what she did to him. He swears she will repent.
Estela admits to Cecilia that she is going out with her boss, knows he is old but gives her security, money, work.
Narciso tells his mother that Florencia is pregnant and says the baby is his. She is sympathetic until he suggests the idea of an abortion. She becomes furious, says he can't destroy a human being. Irene slaps him. Fernando arrives and Narciso leaves.
Margarita looks at an old picture of her and Ricardo, recalls his proposal, tells him they are too young, haven't finished school. When her mother comes home, she asks her what she would think if Ricardo were a doctor and a millinoaire; Brigida says not in a million years, says he was useless, etc.
Rosa and Armando start to argue while she finishes getting ready for Narda's wedding.
Patricio suggests a story to his boss about the crimes against homesexuals and the institutional homophobia.
Dalia introduces Lubia to Julio who is very gallant with her. Julio's mother doesn't come to the wedding. He accuses his father of letting his wife manipulate him; he says he stopped fighting with her after 10 years of marraige. Patricio's lover arrives. Fernando and Irene arrive; she looks for Narciso tells Dalia her own son is committing the same errors of the past. Narciso takes Cecilia to the wedding which makes Rosa angrier than she was before. Cristian drives Narda and Carmina. Narda tells him to drive on when they reach the site where the wedding will be held.

USA 9/30/02-10/4/02:
9/30/02 - Raymundo hits Florencia when she tells him she is pregnant with Narciso's baby. The more he physically hurts her, the more she taunts him with how much better and more of a man is Narciso.
Narda finally arrives, late, for her wedding where Julio has been discussing Osvaldo with Fernando who assures him that Osvaldo is a good man to do business with. Julio and Narda are wed. Osvaldo looks on like a padrino. Afterwards, Narda's friends make fun of the vows (which really are antique). Armando and Fernando say smart men don't marry: Buddha, Gandhi, etc. Margarita catches the bridal bouquet. Ricardo arrives. He treats Margarita somewhat oddly. Brigida doesn't recognize Ricardo, goes over to Narda's table to introduce herself to the "caballero". Rosa goes over to Cecilia's table and insists on talking to her alone, to ask why she is there with Narciso. Cecilia asks her mother to set aside her prejudices against Narciso, blames her prejudices for what is going wrong in the family. Cristian dances with Carla and Carole. Gamaliel calls Rafael's brother while he is dancing with Estela, tells him it is over, he is tired of his promiscuity.
Lubia tells Brigida that she is lying about Margarita's happy marriage, that Margarita has always been unhappy because she gave up the love of her life.
Irene suggests they all go off for a weekend together. Each has an excuse, but Irene convinces them.
Anel and Osvaldo congratulate Julio and Narda. Anel asks her if she liked their present. Narda says yes, then takes Julio away. Osvaldo tells Anel there is a time for business and a time for pleasure, they'll deal with things later.
Don Roque sings and talks with Agustin, Rita and her son Kaliman. Narda calls for a toast and a group photo.

10/1/02 - Dalia's friends discuss her drinking, wonder if/what they should do to help her. Lubia and Dalia go to Veracruz/ Her father was killed fighting for justice.
Cristian demands to know why Patricio is friends with a known gay but is interrupted before he gets an answer. Narda notices that something is bothering Irene, fears the cancer might have returned. Irene assures her it hasn't. But, later, brushing her hair, she notices that it is starting to fall out.
Fernando offers Narciso a VP in the business, with complete liberty to run it without interference. Narciso tells him he will consider it and tells Raymundo he won't let him pull any tricks this time. Florencia tells Anel she can no longer stand Raymundo, wants out. Anel tells her he gives her money, jewels, etc. What more could she want? She repeats that the relationship is beneficial, tells Florencia to forget Narciso and concentrate on Raymundo.
Dalia asks her aunt for the truth about the death of her parents. Finally, she tells her. It was night. They were driving. She was in the back sit with the baby Dalia. They had to stop because of a tree fallen on the road. Her father and mother got out of the car and were both shot. Lubia and the baby hid on the floor of hte back seat, then crawled out and into the woods. With the whole family dead, Lubia adopted Dalia.
Rosa talks to the director of the clinic, says it has been six weeks since she has seen her son and wants to see him. He tells her she can't, her son is in the stage at which he is blaming his parents for his addiction. He promises her that their methods are effective and he is being well-cared for. She finally accepts and leaves a gift basket for him.
Ricardo tells Margarita that her daughter has epilepsy, could have been caused by an infection. With medication, she may not have another attack for years or could have one in a week. She tells him that when she sees how kind he is with her daughter, she can't help but think that she could have been theirs. They kiss, tentatively.
Irene visits Florencia, demands that she not abort her baby.

USA, 10/2/02. Florencia says she hasn't yet made a decision. Irene says she could force Narciso to marry her, but not to love her. How long does she think such a marriage would last? Months? A year? Finally, Irene tells her that she will raise the child as her own. This surprises Florencia.
Dr. Castro gives Armandito the package his mother brought, forces him to say thank you several different ways, tells him his parents were too easy on him. Armandito opens the package, tears up the picture.
Rosa argues with her parents. Tito tells his friends he will revenge himself on Armandito. Ramiro finds some of his money missing from his box, yells for Cristal. He demands to know where the money is, starts to strangle her, but she gets away with orders to find it. She tells him she has looked all over the house. He threatens her, and her father, again but doesn't tell him she took it.
Meche tells Margarita her abuela has been angry since she learned that Ricardo is Carmelita's doctor. But she considers him to be a "pobreton" and slaps Margarita when she tells her she is going to try to reconcile with him. Margarita tells her never to do it again. Margarita asks her why she can't admit she was wrong, why she always interfered in her life. Brigida tells Margarita she married Ramiro for his money, never fought for Ricardo. Brigida tells her she alone is responsible for her life. Margarita admits to herself that her mother is right; she didn't fight for her love.
Julio asks Narda what she bought, tells her the credit card he gave her has no limit. Julio insists that she return the car, which she says is a present from her mother. Julio and Narda talk with Carmina who supports Julio's decision and pretends that it would have been a burden to make the payments. Narda is furious with her.
Irene tells Narciso she won't support him if he and Florencia decide on an abortion. She writes about her need for friends, about the loss of her hair, about her inability to tell her friends what she is feeling. She thinks of Margarita whose old love is helping her face the health problems of her daughter. She thinks of Rosa and her concern for her family. Narda, fighting to be just Narda. Dalia, lost in a sea of doubts, but always looking at the horizon.
A girl Cristian slept with, and whose name he can't remember, tells him she has just been diagnosed with SIDA.

10/3/02 - Carla tells Cristian she had sex without a condom with only 3 men, and two have checked out clean. She accuses him of giving her SIDA. He denies it is possible because he is healthy; she tells him she looks well, too. Lubia gives Dalia a questionnaire from AA which she reads. The answers to the questions are clarly yes, but she denies that she is an alcoholic.
Narda and her friends talk about sex, about teaching one's children. Narda admits that she lets Cristian brings women to his room, has taught him the importance of condoms, tells how an older girl came to the house once with the tale that she was pregnant by Cristian. Narda paid her off and that was that. Rosa tells Irene to ignore it, Narda never thinks before she talks. The women go off for their weekend together. But the car breaks down on the way. Irene calls Fernando who says he will send a car. The police tells the women the car can't be fixed, they'll take care of it when the replacement car arrives. Somehow the conversation turns to abortions, to the reasons (girls abused by their relatives). Narda tells her story, an abortion when she was 15, dirty, awful. She was afraid she would never have children but, luckily, she had Cristian. Margarita thinks abortion should be legal in cases of rape. They argue the pros and cons.
Samuel invites Fernando to his "house". Fernando says he is going out with some friends, including Armando. He is surprised by Samuel's reaction to Armando, wasn't the right man for Rosa.
Florencia talks with Raymundo, apologizes to him. Raymundo refuses to accept the fact that Narciso is the father of her baby. Florencia tells him it doesn't matter. Narcisco doesn't want to marry her and she doesn't want to marry anybody. She tells him she wants to be free, they get along fine as they are, why change things. Narciso and Cecilia go to the same restaurant and discuss what they will do on her vacation. Narciso sees Florencia and Raymundo and greets them. They say they are friends who talk once in a while. Cecilia watches them. Narciso asks Florencia when they can talk, says goodbye. Raymundo notices her anger on seeing Cecilia, tells her that Narciso will never respond as a man whereas he will, will give the child his name. When Narciso returns to his table, Cecilia questions him because he is obviously distracted. She swears she will understand. Narciso tells her that Florencia is pregnant and the baby is his. She tells him to assume his responsibilities and leaves the table. He follows. She tells him that all men are like Cristian, doesn't care whether he had sex with Florencia before or after her. She refuses to talk with him.
Lubia and Dalia wait for the others. Lubia is worried; Dalia calls and learns they left late because of Narda.
Finally, the replacement car arrives. Lubia and Dalia go to the restaurant, and Dalia asks for a vodka. Lubia asks if she drinks more than her friends: she says no. Aggressive? Everybody becomes aggressive when they drink. Lubia tries to point out her angry reaction just to the questions.
? tells Armando he can't find any Azucena Casablancas. Armando shows him the book, Flores de Viento.
Estela asks Cristian what is going on with him that he has dropped all his friends. She calls him a macho and leaves.
There's a fight at the clinic when Armandito accuses one of the other boys as being Castro's eyes. He punishes Armandito and Miguel with electro-shock therapy.

10/4/02 - Carmina returns the car to Osvaldo and Anel, against their wishes. In Veracruz, Irene confesses to Narda that she is losing her hair, her weight, the color of her skin.

USA 10/7-11/02. 10/7/02 - Narciso tells Florencia that he doesn't want the child. In Veracruz, Caridad admits to Dalia that she has never liked Rosa. Irene's sister arrives at her house, learns that things aren't going well between Irene and Fernando, they sleep in separate rooms. Cristal, happy that Ramiro is dead, can't believe it when he turns up, quite alive, at his house and asks where dinner is,
Carmina wonders what happened to Roque,Dalia's friends ask her if she has ever wanted to have children, she could use artificial insemination, adopt. All her friends tell her how wonderful children are. When Irene tells how happy she was when she gave birth to Narciso, Margarita blurts out "in spite of how she got pregnant". The others tell her to be quiet.
Julio, Fernando and Armando go to a "girlie" bar, compare the women who are dancing to their wives. Fernando thinks of his recent "relations" with Irene. Julio pairs off with one of the women and goes to a private room..
In a bar, Pato (Patricio) admits to Estela that he wants to keep his friendship with Cristian because he loves him. Meanwhile, Lore and Cristian have sex; she tells him she would rather be his lover than his novia. She notices some lesions on his body when they are getting dresses. After she leaves, he lies to himself that they are nothing.
Elena greets the drunk Fernando when he returns home, helps him to his bedroom. He admits to Elena that whenever he and Irene are about to make love, he thinks of her breast and can't. The two kiss and make love.
Dalia presents some wheelchairs to some disabled people. The friends all throw something into the ocean in memory of Violeta.

10/8/02 - Narciso tells Florencia he doesn't want the child.
Cristal confronts Tito about his taking her money and not killing Ramiro. He tells her he is not a killer and there is nothing she can do about it; then he rapes her. When Meche tells him later she is going to see Cristal, he tells her he doesn't want her seeing Cristal.
Fernando and Elena talk about the night they spent together. He says he was drunk, etc., he loves Irene, they are going through difficult times, will keep this a secret between the two of them. Narciso hears the word secret and assumes they are talking to him about the secret that Cecilia told him about. They don't really answer.
Cecilia admits to her father, who is reading Irene's book, that she told Narciso her mother's disapproval of him was based on a secret in his mother's past. Armando calls Rosa to tell her that Cecilia said something to Narciso.
Carmina looks at a photo of Roque. In Veracruz, Margarita and Narda get into an argument and start throwing insults at each other.

10/9/02 - While waiting for Carmina to perform, Roque confesses to Rita that he loved Carmina as he had never loved anybody, and she destroyed his life. While Carmina sings, Roque remembers her telling him that she was pregnant with his child. Carmina sees a face she thinks she recognizes. She recalls telling Roque that she was pregnant, killing her husband.
In Veracruz, Margarita and Narda talk alone. Margarita tells Narda that she hurt her, talking about her poverty. Narda says she doesn't like being called una golfa. They apologize to each other.
Narciso recalls Cecilia's words: if he knew the secret, he wouldn't consider abortion. Ramiro visits Brigida and gives presents to her and his children. Ramiro asks Brigida what is going on with Mercedes.
Rosa talks with Irene about her feelings re Florencia's pregnancy but doesn't tell her what Cecilia told Narciso. Florencia dines with Julio, is surprised to learn that he is married to Narda and she is his first wife because in Europe she received an invitation to his wedding with Leticia San Vicente. He tells her that the two broke up before the marriage.

10/10/02 - Rosa and Roman talk about his wife Caridad and her inability to have children, and about the lie they told years before when they were together: all think something happened but nothing did. Rosa confesses to her friends later that nothing happened, that she considered it but changed her mind, did nothing but pretended she had so they would stop bothering her. Now she is worried that her husband and family will read the book and think something that wasn't. Ramiro find Cristal with her wrists cut, takes her to the hospital, doesn't understand why she did it. He calls her "mi niña". Irene tells Narciso her secret, how when she was 15 she fell in love with Ernesto, a sweet, pure love until one night in a car in the rain, he raped her. She became pregnant. gave birth to Javier: that baby is he, Narciso.

10/11/02. Rosa admits to Irene how Narciso found out there was a secret, admits that she objects to his relationship with her daughter because he has the genes of a rapist. Harsh words follow. When the women get together to say goodbye, it is agreed that the whole thing was a disaster. Ricardo visits Margarita's house and has an angry confrontation with Brigida who is still sure she was right to encourage Margarita to marry Ramiro. Mercedes goes to her father's house to see Cristal, learns about the attempted suicide, tells her father it is his fault because of the way he treated her; Ramiro doesn't understand. Cristal tells Meche it was because of the attempt to rape her, then she admits that Tito was one of the thieves (doesn't tell her that Tito raped her). Meche confronts Tito who denies being one of the robbers, says Cristal is just getting back at him for rejecting her advances. Meche believes him. Florencia gets further orders from Osvaldo and Anel re Julio. After she leaves, Anel says she has changed, either really loves Narciso or is pregnant. Osvaldo has had Medusa shadow Florencia and she knows it. Armando takes his secretary to bed while Rosa waits for him.

10/14/02 - Dalia and Irene look for Narciso. Narda notices a mark on Cristian's neck, but he refuses to see a doctor. They argue; after he leaves, Julio tells Narda to control him. Rosa decides not to wait any longer for Armando to pick her up at the airport and goes home where she is greeted by her children but not by her husband. When Cecilia comes home, she apologizes to Rosa for telling Narciso. Cecilia gets hold of Narciso on his cell phone and Rosa calls Irene to tell her where he is. Irene and Dalia find him drunk in a karaoke bar. Dalia tells him how she and her friends were young and frivolous while Irene worked, thinking only of her son. Narciso embraces her, says all will work out. Rosa finds Armando asleep in her sons' room. The next day he tells her he is going to leave her.

10/15/02 - Armando tells her that they have a marriage and family she wanted, she created. She became pregnant with Cecilia on their wedding night, then had child after child whom he has had to support, a house whose mortgage he must pay with a job he hates. She ironically talks of his desire to be an actor. She tells him she loves him. He tells her that her love is the biggest lie of all. He read the book, she had a lover. She tells him that was in the book was a lie, that she came to the wedding bed a virgin. He tells her he wants to live his own life, starting now. She tells him that leaving won't relieve him of his responsibilities for the support of the children, the house. He doesn't care. He takes a suitcase and leaves the house, tells her to tell the children he has taken a business trip until he has a chance to talk with them.
In Veracruz, Dalia talks with Narciso. She reminds him that under the law, he and Florencia don't fall into any of the categories under which abortion is legal. Dalia tells Roman's wife that there was nothing between him and Rosa, that she lied so they would stop teasing her. Narciso tells his mother not to worry, he just needs time.
Margarita angers her younger daughter when she decides to return the first communion dress he bought her. Brigida goes to the hospital to see Ricardo. He guesses, correctly, that she wanted to prove to herself that he was indeed both a doctor and the director and, of course, rich. She denies it but tells him he must admit that at the time she wanted the best for her daughter. He tells her that things are different now, he wants her to stay away from his personal life. She tells him her real reason for coming is to talk about the fact that she forgets where she is, etc., has been told that she has Alzeiheimers. He tells her it is important to have tests, but she changes her mind, says she has to go.
Cristian and Patricio argue about his being gay. Cristian is furious. Patricio tells him that he, at least, goes with men he cares for. Cristian, on the other hand, just treats women as trophies. Cecilia meets with Fernando, apologizes for being responsible for Narciso's learning the truth. Fernando tells her not to worry, he had to learn the truth sooner or later. Ramiro visits Margarita, gives her flowers. She doubts his motives. He tells her he realizes he was wrong, hasn't treated her or the children right, says he really loved her. But he knew that she had married him for money, something no man could take. He tells her he is going to try to change, to support his children as he should. Elena recalls making love with Fernanda, envies Irene because she married with the wrong man, a drunk, had a son she didn't want. Narda visits Irene's doctor, asks if she is really cured. Dalia goes to an aquarium, greets Diego.
