USA, 9/16-20/02.
9/16/02 - missed.
9/17/02 - A beach.. A drunk man shoots at bottles Later, he looks at photos. The next day a woman arrives at the beach and talks with Alfonso.She asks if he wants to spend the rest of his life drunk in a postcard. He admits he knows that Armando is dead. She tells him about the kidnapping.
A woman talks about Alfonso to an older man "doctor" She says that Alfonso Carbajal no longer exists. He tells her that three of his men are dead and his daughter Natalia has been kidnapped. He has to find Alfonso. She tells him she hasn't seen him in two years, has no idea where he is. He asks her to try. El General lets doctor in to talk to a prisoner. The doctor tells him it won't be so easy to get out, asks where his daughter is.
The kidnappers untie Natalia, lock her up in a room. Johnson and ? talk. Another man on a cell phone says the other is his socio, like it or not. He doesn't care whose daughter he has; he wants his brother Gustavo freed.
Two men discuss how to get Gustavo out by bribing a judge. One says it is expensive to launder money.
In a bar, Tamara serves two men. A woman enters and talks to one, Navarro. She is Sandra Quiroz and she wants to talk with his boss, Alfonso Carbajal. He tells her he hasn't seen Alfonso in two years; he disappeared just like she did.
Natalia finds a nail, tries to pick the lock. Her mother tells a friend Priscilla, says only she, Octavio (her novio) and Lizbeth know. They can't tell the papers. Natalia is drugged.
Bonifacio offers his regrets to Dona Juan over the death of her son. He says that Armando never forgot his roots.
A Capitán visits ?, says she has to come with him. The doctor tells ? the information he has. The kidnapping was by a drug cartel. Alfonso arrives.

USA, 9/18/02 - Natalia is drugged. One of the kidnappers is named Arturo. Alfonso greets el profesor and is introduced to Octavio Montiel, the novio de Natalia. Castillo tells Johnson he shouldn't act different because Natalia is the novia of Octavio. Johnson reminds him that Octavio is very important to this business. And imagine having the daughter of the cleanest prosecutor in the country. Johnson doesn't want to lose Octavio, but Castillo wants his brother Gustavo out of jail. A policeman tells Quiroz they need her testimony against Gustavo Castillo. Johnson says they'll get Gustavo out but need Natalia alive. The kidnappers have a video on Natalia, seethat she is awake. She asks if it was heroin, if they are going to kill her. One of them says it depends on different things, in particular her jefe. Another injects her again. Quiroz identifies Gustavo in a lineup but refuses to testify. Alfonso talks to the professor alone in a garage, tells him he shouldn't have taken the job. Gisela tells Octavio she feels guilty. Alfonso says he'll help with this, but then will disappear again.
A policeman questions Navarro. Octavio talks with Castillo, sees Natalia asleep in a cell. Alfonso Carbajal, using the name Enrique Nuñez visits Sandra Quiroz, says he too was once a cop, needs information about Armando Castillo. She tells him he is dead, holds a un on him. Castillo refuses to release her until Gustavo is released, otherwise he will find her on the street, in pieces.
A woman, blonde cop, Alma?, walks into the cop's office, brings a message to Guillermo Navarro from Alfonso Carbajal. Alfonso tells Sandra he knows who she is, knows her history, just needs a bit of information. She insists that Armando is dead. Castillo goes to Ana's cell, starts to undress her. She wakes and he leaves. El Capitan tells El General that she won't testify. El General tells him that they must demonstrate that the law still exists in this country; he is responsible for Gustavo.
Alfonso talks to ?, says he needs gente he can trust. No hay lana.
Porfilio talks to a woman, Elizabet?, to find out if she knows anything about Natalia. She was kidnapped in the clinic and he couldn't do anything. She promises to tell him as soon as she know something. Elizabeth goes back inside to talk with Gisela who says she feels guilty. Elizabet tries to find out what is bothering her.
Alfonso talks and walks with the blonde cop, Alma?, and tells her his plan.
When they take Natalia to the "bathroom", she searches for a way out.

9/19/02 - Alfonso goes to a "garage" where a scruffy guy, Gerardo, has been playing a violent computer game.
A woman tells Dr. Arnoldo that Dr. Solozo would like the results. Dr. Arnoldo says he wants to deliver the results in person.
Gisela tells Octavio all Lourdes knows is that there is a plan or operation to rescue Natalia. Gisela insists that's all she knows. He tells her to leave him alone; he is nervous, tired.
El Capitan gets a judicial order to release Gustavo. He goes to the professor, says he suspects that he is mounting a solo operation to free Natalia. He wants to know what the doctor is hiding. Then he gets a call from El Capitan about the release order. He tells El Capitan to wait. El Capitan tells the men that Lic. Suarez is on his way. El doctor arrives at the jail and reads the judicial order. He asks Gustavo how much he paid but can do nothing. Gustavo is released. Reporters ask Gustavo questions: is he the jefe now that his brother Armando is dead. Gustavo insists that both his brother and he are innocent of all charges. El General tells el doctor that he is in charge of the laws. El Doctor asks what they will tell the families of the victims, what they should tell the country. El Doctor is angry, suspects El Capitan, suddenly clutches his chest.
Two men scale a wall. In a hall, a man and woman walk with flashlights and bags, open what seems to be a trap door, drop down and pull out a laptop next to some kind of box. The objective is to interrupt the video camera and transmit a false image. The kidnappers gamble, one watches a video screen, another works with weights. Alfonso and some men are in a truck, climb a wall. A kidnapper comes out; the driver says the truck won't start. Sandra arrives in a green truck. Alfonso and some man walk through the warehouse where Natalia is being held. Some of the kidnappers are on guard. Alfonso gets into Natalia's cell, clamps a hand on her mouth. She asks him who he is, is afraid to trust him. He gives her instructions. As a kidnapper approaches Alfonso's location, another rescuer garottes him. Sandra waits, nervously, turns on the radio and hears the news that Gustavo Castillo, brother of the dead Armando Castillo, el Señor de los Cielos, has been freed. The driver of the truck shoots the kidnapper who had been telling him to leave. The kidnappers discover that Natalia is missing. Shots are fired. Alfonso and Tania continue to work their way out of the warehouse. Armando gets word from the kidnappers. One of them captures one of the rescuers, questions him with a gun, asks who they are, where the girl is. Natalia and Alfonso jump over the wall. As they head for freedom, a group of the kidnappers follow and fire. Natalia runs as Alfonso tries to hold them off.

9/20/02 - Action in different parts of the warehouse, gunfire, etc. Alfonso catches up with Natalia. He's been shot and the kidnappers are still after him, Natalia and Sandra. The three seem to go into another building, followed by the kidnappers. After 3 of the kidnappers pass them, Alfonso tells the two women this is the safest place for them, must spend the night. Sandra asks Natalia who she is, what's so important about her that they risked their lives to find her. She says she is the daughter of Daniel Solosino. Sandra asks Alfonso if they risked their lives to save Natalia in exchange for Gustavo. She tells him she heard on the radio that he had been freed. Alfonso is furious, believed in Daniel. He tells Sandra he didn't know, Daniel deceived him. Sandra tells Enrique she doesn't believe him. Enrique tells Natalia that her father used him, risked his life and that of others, to take her out the back door while Gustavo went free. Sandra tells Enrique they've been set up. Sandra is nervous, with disdain tells Natalia that she needs methadone, does she know what that is?. Natalia says she is a doctor. Sandra assumes she has a private practice, helps rich women lose weight, look younger. Natalia tells her the day she was kidnapped she had just helped a 15-year old give birth to a baby already addicted to cocaine. Her mother rejected the underweight baby and it wasn't a private clinic but a place without antibiotics, alcohol, etc. Alfonso returns, is worried. Natalia looks at his leg, puts on a tourniquet. Alfonso tells them they'll have to sleep there tonight. Octavio asks Lourdes why she didn't tell him about the planned rescue. She says she doesn't know what is going on, only that Natalia is in danger and Daniel is doing what he can. Octavio demands to know what, can't believe that Daniel would keep such a secret from him, one doesn't play with drug dealers. Daniel calls the rescue team, learns that Natalia is with Alfonso.and all is ok. Tony asks "all", but one guy says that's the contract. Octavio questions Lourdes again, then Daniel arrives and he demands to know what is going on. Daniel tells Octavio there was an attempt but he has no details. Octavio hears him call Official Gonzalez, the woman, who tells him they assume Natalia is ok but don't know for sure. Then he asks where Alfonso Carbajal is and Octavio hears the name.
Gisela paces, tells Elizabeth she could have been killed. Elizabeth tells her to relax, sees a piece of jewelry and understands her guilt, knows she has something with Octavio.Gisela asks how she knows. Elizabeth saw the jewelry in his house, names other facts. Gisela denies it, calls her crazy, reminds her that she and Natalia are friends. Elizabeth tells Gisela to leave
Armando gives a suitcase of money to El General, tells him he isn't happy about the girl's escape. The general tells him it is a gift: it will seem that Daniel Solisino exchanged his daughter for Gustavo, will be seen to have sold out his principles, will be his destruction. Armando tells him the more stories (heart attack, death in the hospital) about him, the better. El General tells him they need more than stories, they need "facts". Armando tells him he doesn't like anything: they found him, made a fool of him, cost him some men. He wants to know who orchestrated it.
Navarro drives his truck somewhere, tells the other guy to get out, questions him. They start to fight and the guy throws Navarro, twice. Then the guy points a gun at him, drops it, tells him to talk less.
Gonzalo wonders where Alfonso is. A woman asks where she's been and who her friend, a man, is. Ruth tells Gonzalo that she spent all night waiting for her. Gonzalo tells Ruth the man risked his life and she doesn't even know his name.
Daniel wakes up to find his wife awake, sitting. She wants to know how much longer they must wait. Daniel tells her they freed Castillo; she feels that he has risked the life of her daughter, tells him he shouldn't have taken his job. She tells him she needs somebody to blame.

USA 9/23-27/02.
9/23/02 - El General returns to his office; El Capitan tells him he feels bad, impotent, when any judge can be paid to free somebody like Gustavo. El General tells him this isn't a 2-hour picture, it is a long war. Rocha calls El General and learns about the kidnapping and rescue of Natalia.
In the warehouse, Sandra asks Enrique who he is that he knows so much about her. She doesn't know why she believed in him. She fought so long to get away from all of this, now he's brought her back. She asks him who will protect her when Castillo learns who they are.
Journalists call Daniel all day. Lourdes asks him why they haven't heard anything of Natalia. A man comes to the door to talk with him.
The next day, ? asks Navarro for his badge, says it isn't personal. Navarro asks him who he is. New disciplines, not his fault. They no longer trust Navarro. Navarro asks who will give him back his 7-year-old daughter, killed because he is a cop. 15 years. Navarro hands in his badge and leaves.
El General, El Capitan and others meet. Washington isn't happy. They tell El General that every day Mexico seems more like Colombia.
The journalists ask for information about the kidnapping, are simply told that Dr. Solisino isn't there. The doctor goes to the warehouse, meets with Alfonso. He accuses the doctor of setting him up, of exchanging Castillo for his daughter. The doctor insists that's not what happened. Sandra and Natalia overhear them talking. Natalia runs to her father. She tells her father Enrique is crazy, doesn't understand when her father calls him Alfonso. Alfonso tells Sandra he is Carbajal. Alfonso again accuses el professor that he followed two routes to get his daughter back. Natalia asks her father who this man is to judge him. Daniel tells him it isn't as he thinks it is. Alfonso walks away, followed by Sandra. He swears to Sandra he didn't know. She draws a gun on him, finally found him, Carbajal. Natalia and her father embrace, walk to his car. Sandra asks him if he knows how much he made her suffer, doesn't he marry, operación ?. She had to become one of them; they injected her repeatedly, left her a drug addict. He doesn't know what she is talking about. Eventually, she was begging Castillo for the drugs. All she had was a name, Alfonso Carbajal. It was Carbajal's operation. He tells her he still doesn't know what she is talking about. He tells her he didn't know she existed until a few days ago. He tells her he would never have left her there, would have come after her. He tells her to kill him if that is the methadone she needs.She points the gun at him again, then walks away.
Octavio comes to Lourdes' to find out what is happening, is surprised by Elizabeth's cold reception and she makes only innuendos, doesn't confront him directly about Gisela.
Navarro goes to a bar, drinks with the Alma, the blonde cop, asks her what has happened with Carbajal. Navarro tells her they were used. Navarro tells her they say that Solisino paid $100,000 for his daughter and he's lost his job. Tamara, a waitress, brings him another drunk, asks how he lost the job. Guillermo Navarro tells Tamara to leave him alone with Alma.
When Daniel arrives home with Natalia, he is confronted by dozens of journalists, insists that his daughter was not kidnapped. Natalia goes inside, embraces her mother then Octavio. Later, he tells her he almost went crazy, then leaves the house. Natalia asks him why he lied to the journalists.
Back in her room, Sandra looks at a photo of a semi-naked man, goes to the bathroom, recalls the words of Alfonso asking her what she knows of him, what she wants. She takes a pill.
Alma tells Alfonso the rumor is that Daniel paid 100,000 for Natalia's rescue. Alfonso tells her that he didn't pay him. He says he should've stayed at the beach.

9/24/02 - Two men greet each other and wrap arms around an older woman.
Elsewhere, El General looks at a photo of Alfonso. El Doctor comes to El General's office, tells him what happened was serious, Castillo could not have gotten out along. Daniel says this was more than a question of a corrupt judge, there are drug people in this department. It would have taken a lawyer, a judge, and somebody inside who knew where Castillo was being held. El General tells the Procurador that he is defaming his people, asks what he wants, demands that he start with him if he wants somebody to start with. El General tells him to start with Alfonso Carbajal, the man responsible for the rescue. He works inside the law which makes him different from Daniel.
Lic. Bolivar visits Severo?, Castillo's lawyer, with a legal order. She and another man look at Severo's files, wants copies. The lawyer tells her to bring a legal order.
Natalia tells Elizabeth she only realizes now how much her house means to her. She feels as if months, years had passed. All that sustained her was her thoughts of her parents, her, Octavio. That name makes Elizabeth uncomfortable and Natalia notices it. Elizabeth tells her that Octavio doesn't deserve her. Finally, she tells Natalia she thinks he is involved with Gisela. Elizabeth tells Natalia what she saw, a table for two the night before, somebody in the bathroom in the morning, a nervousness. Natalia can't believe it, she has loved him since the moment she saw him. Elizabeth hopes she knows she cares too much about her to lie.
Alfonso goes to Sandra's apartment, finds it full of drug users, finds her preparing to shoot up. He kicks out a man, grabs the needle from her. He stays with her, tosses the drugs down the toilet, puts her under the shower. He tells all the others to leave, with a gun to back him up. Later, Alfonso swears to Sandra that he knew nothing of her before, is sorry she was hurt. As he leaves, she stops him and kisses him. He goes away.
Gisela visits Octavio in his apartment. He slaps her as soon as she enters. She tells him she tried to warn him about Elizabeth. He tells her she will fix things. She begs him not to do something but he does. Afterwards, he asks her if he is clear.
Daniel arrives in his office and Lic. Barbara Bolivar asks how it went. She tells him they couldn't find anything. He says they are always clean. They're like the humidity, everywhere.
Lourdes gets a call. A man worries her that the girl was just a game. If he wants war, war it will be. He tells her he should resign or accept the consequences.
Natalia tries to sleep, recalls her times with Octavio and Gisela. The next day, Natalia is back at work, asks a woman, Maricruz, if she's sure she doesn't want to see her baby, feed him. She says no, she heard the baby is sick. She says that's why she doesn't want to see her, was responsible for her being sick, doesn't deserve to be a mother. Natalia tries to convince her. Another doctor interrupts her, is glad to see her, that's what matters. He tells her she should take some time off with Octavio; he's called 7 times. She gets a buzz from Dr. Mejia. He shows her an x-ray. She diagnoses the heart problem correctly, the person has little time left. He tells her she is right. It is her father.
Octavio calls Elizabeth from his car, demands to know what she told Natalia. then he sees Alfonso on the street and has his driver catch up with him. He gets out of the car, introduces himself as Octavio, Natalia's novio, knows he rescued her, Natalia told him everything. He thanks Alfonso, verifies his name (Alfonso Carbajal), learns it was a personal matter not a police matter.
Lourdes begs Daniel to have more guards, to resign. He tells her all the police get these threats from drug dealers. He tells her he knows there are risks. Then he has trouble breathing.
Sandra tells ? that she met Alfonso, didn't know at first it was he, admits she liked him.

USA, 9/25/02 - Natalia tells her mother Lourdes that Daniel has only months to live. Octavio tells Alfonso he's not a criminal, asks him why he's so secretive, if he lives in the neighborhood, etc., i.e., tries to get some information. Alfonso shakes him off and leaves. Araceli helps Sandra pick out a dress for her meeting with Alfonso. General Jimenez meets with the DEA, gives him Alfonso's file. The DEA man tells gives him information about a shipment by the Tijuana cartel. El General passes it o to Castillo who admires the tactic: Daniel will end up working for them without even knowing it. Alfonso goes to Tamara's bar, says goodbye to Navarro. Daniel tells Natalia only Alfonso can help him, but he won't. She tries to talk to him about his health, but he tells her if he knew he had only hours to live, he would spend them on his job. Octavio is becoming desperate. He can't reach Natalia. Severo tells him that his suegro had his office searched; nothing, of course, was found. And Alfonso is a problem. Alfonso tells Sandra he expected the job to be simple, didn't want to get involved. She tries to tell him how her feelings have changed but can't. He says goodbye.. Lourdes talks to the doctor who tells her there is nothing that can be done. The General gives Daniel the information about the drug shipment by the cartel de tijuana, says they must work together. The two shake hands on it. In the clinic, one of Senor's men, Medrano, forces Sandra to go with him. In his car, he tells her they know she id'd Gustavo. When he stops abruptly, she escapes from the car, but leaves behind her wallet with her id. Natalia goes to Alfonso, ask him to stay, thanks him, says he needs help: he is sad, solo, afraid to trust. He packs and leaves. Octavio goes to the hospital looking for Natalia, asks Porfilio. All he learns is that she had an appointment. Gisela assures Elizabeth that she would never deceive Natalia, accuses her of getting her ideas of love from the books she writes, because it's been years since she had a boyfriend, makes her feel guilty for distrusting her. Gisela tells Octavio that Elizabeth believed her; wonders what he would have done if she'd told the truth. He reminds her that he was always clear about their relationship. Sandra, back in her room, hears a sound, grabs her gun. Alfonso walks on the beach.

9/26/02 - El Capitan tells El General he was reviewing Gustavo's file, and there's apparently some way they could get the amparo lifted. El General says it wouldn't work, they need concrete facts. El Capitan goes to Sandra's apartment. He says he came the other day with a legal order, today with a sort of "desorden".
Gisela visits Natalia to assure her that she has never had anything to do with Octavio. She asks to talk, but Natalia tells her she has much more important things to do now. Daniel watches the TV news about the drugs captured from the Tijuana cartel. He is thrilled. Lourdes turns off the report. Castillo watches it, too figures that Daniel should be pleased. The guy who tried to kidnap Sandra gives her id to Castillo. He tells him it is Luisa, Luisa Sandra Quiroz. Castillo tells Medrano to find her.
On the beach, Alfonso thinks of Natalia's words: when was the last time he made love, embraced a friend. Later he sits and talks with a woman, Jolie, says he loves her too, kisses her.
Octavio knocks on Natalia's door, asks if he doesn't deserve an explanation. She tells him she is confused, depressed and busy. He touches her, kisses her cheek, starts to talk about what Elizabeth said. Natalia stops him. She tells him she wants to call it off because he deceived her, she doesn't trust him. She is talking about betrayal, his and Gisela's. He denies it but she doesn't believe his denial. She asks him how long it has been going on. She asks for details. He swears he has never loved another as he loves her, never wanted another body. He asks her what he has to do to prove his fidelity. He tells her he is jealous of the night she spent with Alfonso Carbajal, asks if that isn't as foolish as her jealousy. He tries to kiss her, she asks him to leave.
Barbara suggests to Daniel that they hold a press conference re the drug interdiction, the death of Castillo. He disagrees, it is just their duty.
El Capitan takes Sandra to an amusement park, tells her he knows her story but wants to forget it for the night.
Elizabeth talks with Natalia. She says she has talked with Octavio and Gisela. Elizabeth apologizes for saying anything. Natalia tells her she just wants to forget it. She says she thought he was the man of her life, just wants to be alone. Elizabeth notices the name she has written on a piece of paper: Alfonso Trabajal.
Tamara tells Navarro to stop drinking. He wonders how much it will take to forget.
? tells Octavio the operation was a success. Castillo's cargo got through without a hitch, Daniel is happy. All that is left is Alfonso Carbajal. ? guesses he is having a problem with Natalia. Octavio tells him that Castillo should take care of Carbajal, he will handle his woman.
Natalia tries to convince Maricruz to keep her baby. Maricruz reminds Natalia she didn't want the baby, had it only because she convinced her to. Natalia asks her to at least feed her, discover what she is capable of.
On the beach, Tonito tells Alfonso he saw a small plane a short time before, it dropped some packets. Alfonso asks where, looks in the sky.

9/27/02 - Sandra tells Araceli she is going to try to forget everything, to start over with a new job. She tells Araceli she went to an amusement park, rediscovered a world she had forgotten.
At the beach, Alfonso calls to Yolanda, in a small boat. He gets in another small boat and goes out to her. Behind her a boat with men and guns in it is catching up to where she is picking up some orange sacks that she found in the water. The men shoot her take the packets. Alfonso dives off and pulls her out of the water. He carries her dead body to her friends. He drinks with Tonito later on. Tonito tells him to stop. He tells Tonito he doesn't understand.
Sandra goes to a rodeo, is seen by the man who tried to kidnap her. She sees that she's been seen. She finds a phone, calls the police and tries to get Capitan Gonzalez but he isn't there.
Maricruz goes into the infants' room, picks up a scissors and looks for her baby cuts off its id bracelet.
Natalia goes with a man who says his mother needs her desperately. She ends up in a hotel room, deluxe, where Octavio is waiting. He asks her if she is throwing their love away because of some items that could or could not have been Gisela's. He swears he never slept with Gisela. He repeats that what she was told is false and he loves her, only her. She tells him it hurts, he kisses her and she responds. They make love. Octavio tells her he admires her father, wants to be like him. She tells him that her father is very ill, cardiopathy, a terminal disease.
Daniel meets with El General and two men from the DEA. One, Johnson (El General's associate) is pleased, but the other man asks why there has been no action against the Juarez Cuartel, Castillo's. He would have preferred a double attack. El General said he didn't know. Johnson said they had some information but it didn't check it out. Daniel tells him that the DEA is a partner only, this is his country and it is his people who should make the decision. He leaves the meeting, calls Hugo because he can't breathe. He refuses to go to the clinic (if he is hospitalized, his illness will become known and he'll be removed from his position). Bárbara accompanies him to his home. Natalia arrives, talks with Dr. Mejia. She wonders if they should tell him the truth. Natalia, Lourdes and Mejia wonder what to do. Natalia walks out "to commit una locura".
In the bar, a man offers Navarro some cocaine. He wants information about Carbajal. Navarro says he knows nothing. The man offers him some money. Navarro repeats that he knows nothing.
A nurse gives the doctor a note from Maricruz.

9/30/02 - Natalia tells Octavio his father is ok; Octavio wants the truth, asks if there is a cure. Natalia tells him yes but she has to help her father by finding Carbajal. Octavio offers to go with her; she says she has to go alone. Octavio calls to ask that a tail be put on Natalia. The doctor tells Lourdes the diagnosis is terminal, no matter what they or he does. Lic. Barbara overhears. Barbara asks Lourdes why she doesn't tell Daniel. She says it is a hard decision, would make no difference in any case.
Johnson argues with El General about the position he put him in with Solisino. El General suggests an attack against Castillo, no captives, a few kilos: good for the press and Castillo will give it to them.
Araceli visits Sandra, sees the gun. Sandra says she is going to kill him first.
Octavio meets with Castillo, offers to give him Carbajal, but only after Natalia has left him.
Alfonso finds Natalia waiting for him in his shack. Very drunk, they talk a bit. Then he showers. A man watches the shack, calls Octavio and gives him the location which he gives to Castillo, insists that there be no mistake, that Natalia get out first. Dressed and semi-sober, Alfonso accuses Natalia of coming at her father's request, asks if she was going to petition him before or after the orgasm, asks who ordered her to get into his bed then drags her off to the cemetery. He tells her he isn't afraid. She tells him sometimes she doesn't think it is worthwhile, but one must fight. He tells her it is useless.
Tamara tells Navarro she is getting tired; the least he could do is help. Navarro tells her she is thinking of Alfredito, asks why she won't talk about him. Sergio arrives to warn Navarro: something's going on that will hurt him.
In the hospital, the doctor holds and walks with Maricruz's baby. Elizabeth watches, then talks with him.
Octavio asks Lourdes where Natalia is and also tries to worm out information about Daniel's health. Lourdes tells him that Dr. Mejias said it was nothing serious but won't let him talk with Daniel, says he is with his assistant.
Tony, Navarro's ex-boss, and ? talk of women, love, etc. Tony has a new girl but it is the same thing as always, he's not affectionate enough, talks only of killers, narcos, etc.
El General tells Johnson he's started the operation against Castillo, with a minimum of losses and deaths. Johnson reminds him that Castillo could lose his liberty, but they two have a lot to lose. El General reminds him of his fat Swiss account, of which he has one too.
A man plants a bomb in Alfonso's shack. One of the men calls Castillo to tell him all is ready; Castillo tells the woman in his bed that Solisino will get the mesage. When Castillo gets the call that they are waiting because she is with Alfonso, Castillo tells him to go ahead.
Sandra practices at a target range. Octavio seeks out Gisela.
When Alfonso and Natalia get back to his shack, he apologizes to her for being so hard; then he hears something, finds the bomb and gets them both out of the shack before it blows up.

10/1/02 - Alfonso and Natalia hide in a well while the killers check the house and drive off. Alfonso blames her, asks who else knew she was coming her. She says nobody, then admits her novio dod but obviously wouldn't want her dead.
Octavio and Gisela get dressed after having sex. He tells her that talking to her after sex is becoming more and more disagreeable.
Daniel hears the news about the Cuartel Juarez: no men captured, only 2 kilograms.
Johnson tells El General that the Cuartel Juarez is rumored to have ties in the CIA, even in the White House. El General mentions how much money is laundered in Mexico; imagine how much in the U.S. Castillo tells them that Carbajal is dead. Johnson congratulates his padrino.
El Capitan finds Sandra at the target range, goes back with her for dinner, asks why she was there. She says it is just a question of self defense, but he suspects she is hiding something.
Alfonso and Natalia eat by campfire. She tells him her father is dying. That's why she came.To ask him to help her father die while fighting. He tells her he won't return. They almost kiss. When he wakes up the next morning, she is gone.
Natalia returns home, finds Octavio waiting, tells him what happened. She tells him her father needs a man he can trust at his side, but Alfonso refused to return. She wonders who is behind it all; he swears he will find out. Sandra plans to shoot Castillo in the rodeo bar where she works but doesn't get the chance. Octavio calls Castillo to tell him that Alfonso still lives.
Tamara asks Navarro what an order means: he has to explain before a judge his calls on a hotline or something. Octavio goes to a room somewhere and shoots a man in the head through the security hole in the door. He hears a woman scream and passes an old lady coming up the steps. She doesn't look at him. Alfonso shows up at Daniel's house. Daniel wants to know why he is there, to tell him again that he betrayed him, etc. Natalia interrupts him, says Alfonso is there because she asked him to come, leaves the two alone to talk. Daniel and Alfonso leave the house.

10/2/02 - Sandra tries again to shoot Castillo but can't get a clean shot.
Alfonso and Daniel talk in a deserted spot. Alfonso tells him anybody could be taking drug money, he would like to form a special group to root out corruption, wherever it is. He will choose the people, direct them, requires trust and the ability to go to the ultimate consequences. Daniel tells him he can doubt anybody and everybody except him. Alfonso tells him not to trust the DEA. Los gringos no son los boy scouts de la planeta.
Johnson meets with Castillo. Castillo tells him Medran was killed. Johnson says he knows. Octavio calls Johnson, says he is on his way. Johnson and Castillo drink and talk about somebody who is undercover; nobody knows who he is except his boss. But he doesn't think it has anything to do with the death of Medran. Octavio arrives and points a gun at Castillo's throat; Castillo's men draw their guns. Octavio tells him it is one thing for Solisino to declare war and another thing for him to. Octavio says he killed Medran because they broke their agreement, blew up the shack when Natalia was there, Alfonso is alive. Castillo asks him what the problem is: Medran deserves to be dead for failing and Natalia is alive. Johnson returns his gun to Octavio. Castillo swears he didn't know that Natalia was there, that his relationship with her is part of their agreement. Johnson explains to Castillo that Octavio shot through the door because he is afraid of blood.
The police take pictures and question neighbors where Medran was killed by Octavio. Barbara finds something, a card, and hides it She tells one of the cops that he wasn't alone. Then she sees something and says "Castillo".
Sandra's friend tells her that if she had shot Castillo, she would be dead. She says she is alive but why, on her first day of work, must she run into him. Her friend tells her to leave the city, tells her living is working, cooking. Sandra sees the news about the death of Medran, goes to his apartment. Barbara is there, draws a gun on her, recognizes her and shows her her driver's license, which is what she found by Medran's bed.
Daniel has another attack when he and Alfonso return to the house. When they are alone, Barbara tells Daniel the truth about his illness. He can't believe his family and doctor kept the truth from him. She tells him she learned the truth by accident, overheard a conversation. He asks her why she told him; she says she doesn't know.
Octavio enters the house just as Alfonso is putting his arms around Natalia to comfort her. Octavio tells Alfonso that he always seems to be near Natalia, asks him if he likes her. He says yes and goodbye. Natalia reprimands Octavio. He reminds her she spent a night alone with him, asks if she likes him. She says of course not. Octavio asks her why he is there; she tells him to see her father and begs him not to start with a jealous scene, not now. He tells her he doesn't like Alfonso because he is a mercenary.
Castillo brings in a man from Juarez to replace Medran. Nobody knows him, his name is Sapodrillo. Castillo shows him the operation, the plan to give away some drugs. Castillo tells Sapodrillo to talk with his friends until he hears the name Alfonso Carbajal.
Daniel asks Natalia how she convinced Alfonso to return. She says "nothing". Lourdes tells him she hates to see her office converted into an office, likes to see him at home, contented. Daniel asks that they dine together. At dinner, Daniel toasts his two loves. He reminds them what they have gone through together. His failures, his victories. Then he brings out his x-ray, says he is talking about their secret.
Alfonso goes to the bar to talk with Navarro, tells him his plan, to form a special group. Alfonso tells Navarro it is his chance to work, a salary, a pension, life insurance if he dies. Navarro doesn't understand his change. Alfonso says he was wrong about Solisino. He tells Navarro to think about it, then goes to a gym and talks with one of the boxers. He's been out of jail for a year and a half. Alfonso says he offers him a chance to kill his ghosts, working directly for him.

10.3.02 - Daniel tells his family they must decide how to go on with life. He tells them what is important is what he does with the time that is left. Lourdes apologizes for not telling him. He tells them that nobody, absolutely nobody else must know.
Alfonso visits Sandra. They smile at each other. Sandra tells Alfonso "he" is alive. Then they kiss. But he stops, tells her he is not what she is looking for, didn't come on a visit of love but of work. She doesn't believe him, says there is another woman. She asks him why he must complicate things, says ok, there is no other woman, lets talk about work. He tells her his idea of a special group working for Solisino. She tells him she needs something to make her believe. He tells her they destroyed his home, have left him with nothing. The only way to live now is to confront them.
Octavio and Gisela have sex. Navarro talks with Tamara, tells her he loves her. She asks him why he doesn't make an effort, stop drinking and doing nothing. Sapodrillo turns up at the gym where one of Alfonso's team members work...and who has just told another person in the gym what he will be doing.
Octavio visits Natalia, proposes to her, says he wants to share everything with her. Natalia tells Octavio she wants to spend the time her father has left with him; the two of them have plenty of time. He accepts.
Natalia learns that Maricruz left the hospital, left a note: Maria, if you read this when you are older, forgive me. I have nothing to give you. I hope you won't grow up to be like me.
Alfonso meets with Tony (the man who fired Navarro) and ?, tells them they will report to him and him to Solisino. Tony says it doesn't feel right, asks Alfonso why he returned. Alfonso tells him they bombed the house he lived in under a different name. Tony asks about Navarro. Alfonso repeats Tony's stories to him (family dead or in jail for dealing, etc.) Alfonso then talks with the female detective who asks about the other members of the group. She doesn't trust Sandra. A man joins them. Alfonso calls the gym; the boxer accepts then starts to brag about himself while Sapodrillo is working out: he knows of guns, terrorist group, "if you knew who I am".
Daniel asks Barbara why she told him. With tears in her eyes, she says she thought he should know. They approach each other, he almost takes her hand but withdraws it.
Castillo tells Johnson he does things his way. Johnson tells him he can do what he wants with Carbajal, but the other no. He tells him to remember Colombia, tells him he is crazy.
José Angel (El Capitan) rings Sandra's doorbell, brings flowers, wonders if he is being foolish to be so insistent as she grabs a purse to go out. Sandra swears she isn't rejecting him; he asks for a date, a chance. She doesn't answer, just leaves.
Octavio makes some investment decisions, is joined by Gisela. He tells her he is going to marry Natalia.
Daniel goes to El General, tells him that he has formed a special group under the leadership of Carbajal.
The group meets: Alfonso, Tony, Arturo (the boxer) , Navarro, Anita. Tony and Navarro aren't happy to see each other. Sandra arrives. Sapodrillo and his men arrive at the building where they are meeting.
Lourdes asks Barbara why she told Daniel. Castillo visits Natalia in her office.

10/4/02 - Lourdes tells Barbara she had no right to tell Daniel the truth, to stay away from the family from now on.
Octavio tells Gisela his marriage will change nothing between them, provided she behaves well.
Castillo confronts Natalia. She runs, he follows, terrorizes her with a gun and scalpel. Then he places a call and is surprised when Alfonso answers, surprised anybody is still alive, tells Alfonso he has Natalia. Castillo gives the phone to Natalia, she says his name, hears the shots. Castillo leaves her with a warning for her father: they can do what they want to do when they want to do it. She tells Castillo her father won't stop.
Alfonso outlines his plan, then sees a rifle before the shooting starts. Alfonso's people counter attack and Castillo's men flee.
Daniel won't tell El General who will be in Alfonso's group. When El Capitan enters and El General starts to tell him, Daniel stops him, says El Capitan was with Gustavo when he was freed. José Angel Escurdia defends himself, his family, his principles, his antecedents. He leaves the office. El General assures Daniel that all of his men are of the same caliber. Alfonso calls Daniel, tells him what has happened.
Johnson tells Octavio to lower his profile, no more problems with Castillo. Octavio tells him he needs a favor.
Tony and Hugo wait in the hospital for Nemo? Navarro to be fixed up, talk. Who gave them away? Hugo is sure it wasn't Alfonso, somebody said too much. Tamara arrives at the hospital. The doctor tells Navarro's wife Tamara that he will survive but will need much care.
At the site, Sandra, the female detective Anita?, and another man try to figure out what happened, who talked. Raymond Carver (Johnson?) introduces himself to Gisela.
Alfonso arrives just after Castillo leaves. Castillo sees him but doesn't shoot. She doesn't know who he was, just that he was one of the kidnappers. In the hospital, Octavio runs into Daniel. Octavio sees Castillo but doesn't id him to Daniel. The two go looking for Natalia. She and Alfonso kiss.
Sandra tells Araceli what happened. Anita goes to Sandra's house and accuses her.

USA, 10/7-11/02. 10/7/02 - Natalia pulls away from the kiss, tells him not to touch her, asks who he is. She tells Alfonso how the man humiliated her, frightened her. He tells her that at the same time, his men killed one of his team, injured another.
Alma asks Sandra how she got away from El Senor de los Cielos, what she had to agree to do. Sandra tells her that Medran found her in the clinic, she escaped from him. Sandra tells Alma that Castillo isn't dead.
Octavio, Daniel and their men look for Natalia. She embraces Octavio, tells them he was one of the men who kidnapped her.
Tamara visits Memo Navarro in the hospital. One of his eyes is bandaged.
Castillo is furious with Sapodrillo. Sapodrillo assures him he will get the rest. Castillo gives him one more chance.
Alfonso tells Daniel that somebody talked, he suspects it was Arturo Mondragon. Daniel asks him how he could select such a man. Alfonso tells him that now their names are known.
Sandra, Tony, Alma, ?, and ? meet, waiting for Alfonso who finally joins them, says they start work the next day. He tells them he thinks it was Mondragon, apologizes for inviting him into the group. Sandra tells Alfonso that Alma doesn't trust her because she found her documents in the room of Medron.
Octavio takes Natalia to a lookout point. He tells her how often "good" , powerful people have tried to bribe him; every time, he has thought of her father and of her.
Sandra is tempted to shoot up again but stops just before she injects herself.
El Capitan talks with El General about what is needed for the certification (U.S. requirement). El General praises him for how he responded to Daniel.
One of Castillo's men calls for Octavio, says he is wanted. Castillo gives Octavio the house for him and Natalia, gives him the keys. Octavio tells him he can't be bought that cheaply, is tired of saying the same thing, and punches Castillo. Castillo's men grab him, point guns at him. Octavio tells Castillo to remember the limits: don't touch Natalia. Castillo " forgives" him, accepts the pact. Octavio tells him this is the fourth time; if it happens again, there will be a war that won't be good for either of them. Octavio tries to make him understand he wants to " professionalize" the business. He refuses the house, wants to choose the house himself.
Alfonso visits Natalia, says he isn't sorry for the kiss or for telling her he loves her. She tells him what happened was just a moment caused by what had happened, nothing more. She tells him she has a life, a man. He leaves.
On the phone, Lourdes tells Matilde he can't prevent Daniel from working, then tells the maid to take the rest of the day off, she will make dinner for Daniel. Daniel invites Barbara out to dinner. Lourdes waits at home for him.

10/8/02 - Alma shows Alfonso the apartment she has found for him. She suspects something happened between him and Natalia. Johnson calls Octavio and talks in "code"; I think he was with Gisela. Lourdes prepares dinner for Daniel and waits, not knowing he is dining with Barbara. He apologizes when he gets home, says he didn't know, decided to invite Barbara for dinner on the spur of the moment, they talked about her, her son, etc.
Natalia tells Elizabeth about the kiss with Alfonso. El Capitan visits Sandra again, guesses she is interested in another man. Natalia dreams of Alfonso, then goes to Octavio and accepts his marriage proposal.
El General (Jimenez Aroyo?) and El Capitan take Avila, Garcia, some other people to their "central command". Daniel takes Alfonso and his group to the same place, tells El General that they will work together. El General insists on the right to investigate Alfonso's people and Daniel agrees.

10/10/02 - Johnson asks Octavio to place a mike in Daniel's house and he, finally, does. Alma and Alfonso talk about their joining El General's team, the rules, investigation of their backgrounds. Alfonso says the relationship "nos convienen". Hugo brings Bertalicia (?) Romero to Alfonso; she tells Alfonso she knew his father, says she has information about the involvement of a high official in the drug trade, shows him a military medal, but demands safety and money. Alfonso sets up a meeting in a public place. Octavio formally asks for Natalia's hand; her parents are very happy. Afterwards, Lourdes tries to talk with him about his illness (in the room with the mike). She talks around the word, but near the end of the conversation, he says they must be happy, not worry about the death that confronts the house. The mike also picks up Alfonso's talk with Daniel about the meeting with Bertalicia (?). El Capitan visits Sandra, demands to know how she escaped from Castillo. She agrees to tell him, not to answer questions. She tells how she was ordered to become friends with Castillo, to work her way into the organization. She succeeded in being invited to his ranch. The plan was for her to be there 2-3 days and then to be rescued. But it turned out that the man in charge of the operation knew nothing about her. When she tried to leave, Castillo became violent, locked her up, had his men inject her with heroine. At first it took 3 men to hold her down, then she became addicted. He looks for something to drink and finds a small stash of drugs and a needle, accuses her still being an addict, of being a dealer, etc. She kicks him out and, with an effort, flushes the drugs down the toilet. Gisela comes into Octavio's apartment while Natalia is in a large bathtub. While Natalia bathes, she and Octavio kiss and fondle until he is able to drag her out. Natalia notices nothing. Then, while they are in bed, she gets a call from the hospital. Maricruz has returned, taken her baby and is confronting Dr. Porfilio with a pair of scissors in her hand. Natalia and Octavio arrive and she disarms Maricruz.

10/11/02 - Johnson, El General Jimenez Aroyo, and Armando Castillo discuss what they heard on the tape, that a woman is going to talk. Alfonso, Alma, Hugo and Daniel go to the meeting. As Bertalicia (?) drives up, two men on motorcycles drive by her car and fire 8 bullets at her. Alfonso was unable to prevent it and she dies. El General listens/watches (one-way mirror) to the interrogation of Sandra by El Capitan José Angel. When Sandra asks him why he asking the questions when he got the answers the night before, El General calls him out, demands to know why he lied about knowing any of Alfonso's people. El Capitan lies, gives an explanation, says he didn't think it was important, apologizes. Natalia gives Maricruz her baby to hold, but then some people arrives (social services?) and Maricruz feels betrayed. Natalia tells her she is doing what is best for the baby and for Maricruz. Maricruz gives Natalia the baby and she gives it to the officials and Maricruz goes with them.
Johnson tells Octavio the witness is dead, it was an emergency. Octavio is worried because Alfonso will guess that he planted the bug. Johnson tells him they are all expendable. Octavio goes to Daniel's house but the maid's vacuuming and the appearance of Lourdes prevent him from removing the bug. Alfonso and Alma talk, realize that there were only two places that could have been bugged: his apartment or Daniel's home office. Lizbeth and Natalia talk about Dr. Porfilio's reaction to the appearance of Maricruz and the attack (she knifed him in the hand with scissors); Lizbeth was very impressed. Alfonso's team wonder at the lengthy interrogation of Sandra (3 hours and going). Alfonso tells them about the witness. Hugo is sure that the General is clean; he works, after all, with the DEA.
El General and Daniel listen to Sandra as she tells El Capitan how she was raped, how she escaped. El General tells Daniel she is an example of the lack of discipline, the unacceptable motives of the team that Alfonso has put together, says the death of the witness was due to the lack of professionalism.
Gisela, Natalia and Lizbeth eat together, to try to recover their old friendship. Natalia becomes upset when Gisela tells her what happened with the witness. She didn't know. Castillo sees the newscast re the murder, tells Sapodrillo that El General does things right: no huge bomb or big operation, just something fast and simple.
Alfonso stops the interrogation of Sandra, says it is his turn and taunts El General into conducting the interview himself. El General starts in on why Alfonso left the force (makes it seem a crime), his father, says that anybody can be bought. Alfonso tells him that's what his father said, that everybody has a price and asks El General what his price is.

10/14/02 - Daniel stops El General's questioning of Alfonso. Alfonso tells Daniel the information could have come only from his home office. Lourdes talks with Barbara, to propose a deal re Daniel, asks her to help her ensure that Daniel takes his medicine at the appointed time, doesn't miss his medical appointments. She agrees.
Gisela overhears a conversation between Johnson and Octavio about the mike in which Octavio defends his taking the mike. Octavio reminds him of his importance, of the money he has laundered for them. After Johnson leaves, Octavio senses somebody is there and finds Gisela, demands to know what she heard. He aims a gun at her. She tells him all she heard: the mike, Johnson, laundering money. He runs the gun along her body. They talk. She tells him she doesn't want to understand. He tells her it is time she learned how money is made, tells her she is going to work with Johnson. She admits she wants money but not this way. He tells her that people who know have two options: die or work for them. He won't explain about the mikes and Solisino. He assures her that Natalia knows nothing and must not know anything. He explains that he is using Daniel's innocence and reputation. He gives her her first assignment.
Alfonso searches Daniel's office but, of course, can't fiond the mike. Natalia finds him searching, doesn't believe his explanation. Natalia tells him it's impossible. Nobody goes into that room. Then he talks to her about their kiss, about what he felt, something very strong, asks if she felt nothing. She tells him she is engaged, in love, and going to be married. He asks her if she is sure.
El Capitan interrogates Navarro, then Alma. Navarri tells him of the murder of his son. Alma refuses to tell him with whom she has slept; she's been an honest cop for 10 years. Hugo tells him he is not insubordinate, his father died during a gunfight between narcos; he was just eating dinner in a restaurant. His boss didn't approve of his actions. Another member of the team admits to something re computers. Tony admits he was in jail for killing a soldier who sold his sister drugs that resulted in her death by an overdose.
El General plays the tapes for Daniel, demands to know if he still wants this team. El General doesn't want this group in this installation. Daniel disagrees, the group has a lot in common: all have lost something important to the drug trade. El General agrees to put them in Section 6, but insists on the rules being followed. Daniel feels ill after he leaves.
El General shows Daniel the computer center, the planes they monitor. El General insists that there be coordination between him and Carbajal. Daniel tells him that he will be the point of coordination. Daniel tells him that for the moment they will be working on the Juarez cartel, that the group works under his orders not under El General's. Daniel asks questions about a plane on one of the monitors, suggests it could be one of the first tasks for Carbajal's group. Alfonso tells Daniel he found no mikes; Daniel tells him about the plane. The group moves into its office space. Navarro is sure they are being used, being made fun of. Daniel tells the group he heard and saw their questioning, has faith in them.
Natalia talks with Dr. Porfilio about Maricruz, asks for a progress report. He suggests that she take off a few days.
El General tells Castillo they must cancel the flight; it is being watched. Castillo says they can't. El General tells him he can't do anything and hangs up. Castillo tells Sapodrillo to pull some kind of switch, an identical plane, so the operation can proceed.
The press question Daniel about the death of the woman, Beretricia? Romero. Daniel tells them she apparently had information about a high official. Alfonso shows his team the military medal she gave him, asks them to find out about her past.
Natalia has a nightmare about her father being dead.

10/15/02 - Lourdes talks with Natalia, mentions that Octavio visited, says he asked about Daniel's health. Just then, Daniel returns home. Natalia accuses Alfonso of putting him in danger; Daniel tells them they have it wrong. It was he who insisted on going. A bit later, Daniel asks Natalia if she is sure about marrying Octavio, if she loves him.
El Capitan tells Alfonso he respects him because of his record and as his jefe....Alfonso reminds him that Solisino is his only boss. Navarro tells his friends he is upset by how they were treated and the lack of an apology by Daniel. Navarro taunts Sandra, accuses her of still being in bed with Castillo: good food, wine, coke. Navarro says that somebody is passing information to Castillo. Sandra leaves. Alfonso finds her in the hall crying. He comforts her, she kisses him passionately. They go back to her place and make love. Afterwards, she asks him if he'd like to spend the night. He says yes. Later they talk. She tells him the previous two years of her life had been a disaster: the capture, then the rehabilitation. She assures Alfonso she wasn't Castillo's lover.
Gisela meets "Mr. Carter" (Johnson) in the gallery. He suggests they go to a more private place to talk. They go to a hotel. Gisela sees Octavio filming the two of them as they undress and have sex. Afterwards, Gisela is almost hysterical, asks Octavio why he did it, what he wants the video for. She realizes he doesn't care for her at all. He reminds her that the business is dirty but women have an advantage; with her looks and body she can make a lot of money with little risk. He offers her some coke to make her feel better. Elsewhere, Octavio asks Johnson if she was good in bed; Johnson says yes, then sees the video which also captured everything they talked about, the banks, etc.
Gerardo tells Alma it is hard to imagine her as a cop. She says it is strange for her, too; she had wanted to be a biologist. She asks him why he joined Alfonso. He says he's known Alfonso a long time. He asks Alma is it for conviction or because she likes the adrenaline. A little of both, she says. Years in an office had left her bored. [Comandante Alma Gonzalez and Gerardo Muñez] El Capitan tells Gerardo that since he will be in charge of technical matters, he must be checked out on the equipment. El Capitan shows him the setup: photos of all discovered in recent years with some kind of ties to drugs, a center for military info, not video games.
El General visits Castillo who praises him for his work. El General tells Castillo she wanted a change of identity, it wasn't easy, long ago they were lovers, he remembered when he saw the photos. Then they talk about Daniel, Alfonso and the plane; Castillo tells El General about the "double". El General warns him to be careful.
Natalia talks with Dr. Porfilio, wanders if Maricruz will succeed in the rehabilitation center. Then she tells him she is worried about Carbajal and her father.
El Capitan goes to Sandra's apartment, realizes she isn't alone, sees Alfonso, leaves.
Natalia goes to Octavio's apartment, talks about the murder, her worry for her father, about the mikes that Carbajal found. Octavio acts jealous when she explains that she found Alfonso looking for the mike. Then she asks him why he was at the house; he says because of his concern for her and her family, asks if she is going to distrust him?
Alma's partner (female) argues with her when she arrives home, doesn't feel part of her life. Alma admits that she, too, has been thinking of a change. Alma assures her that it's not because of her; she realizes that she wants a child.
Lizbeth finds Gisela smoking and drinking, asks her what is wrong. They are waiting for Natalia; Gisela says she has to talk with her.

10/18/02 - Natalia rejects Octavio's love-making. He doesn't understand why. She says she is just tired, doesn't want to make love. Lizbeth calls, Gisela wants to see her.
El General meets with Daniel in his office to tell him of the smear campaign. El General tells him it affects him. He didn't know who the dead witness was in the morning, now knows: Bertalicia? Romero. She was his lover. El General says it was some time ago, when he was in intelligence, believed she was involved with narcos. He tells Daniel there are no limits in such cases, as with Sandra and Castillo. He had to get information so he became her lover. He doesn't object to an investigation, but would appreciate a certain "delicacy", that it be kept between the two of them.
Gerardo works with the computers, looks at a picture of a beautiful woman. Alfonso leaves Sandra's apartment, tells her it isn't a good idea to mix business and pleasure. He tells her it was wonderful, beautiful, but it was a special circumstance. He tells her they are no longer "normal" people, kisses her goodbye. Tony and Nemo play pool. They try to guess who killed the witness, don't think it was narcos, had to have been professionals. Tony admits that the situation with Sandra is strange, but Alfonso trusts her. What he doesn't understand is inviting Arturo. Navarro says Alfonso can make mistakes, especially with women. Alma admits to her lover that she wants to be a mother. Her lover can't see herself pregnant, raising a child. They break up. Gisela tells Lizbeth she is confused, needs to talk with Natalia.
Octavio goes with Natalia to see Gisela. Octavio encourages Gisela to talk, says she's gotten herself into trouble, with drugs. She tells them she saw the drugs, was curious, took some. Lizbeth tells her there had to be more to it than that, must have been a man. Octavio asks who it was; Lizbeth says it was somebody they don't know. Octavio becomes angry, can't believe she would protect such a man. Gisela tells them she loves the man, is willing to do anything rather than lose him.
Nemo asks Tamara why he has no will power. He's a cop of some sort, fat, media-patan, adicto, stupid. He doesn't like who he is, doesn't know why he is this way. All he knows for sure is that he loves her.
The night passes for each of them: Sandra, Alfonso, Nemo, etc. Natalia and Lizbeth wonder how they can help Gisela. Lizbeth says there is nothing they can do while she loves the man. Love is a blind animal, has only a thirst that needs to be quenched.
Octavio praises Gisela for her performance. Gisela tells him this has to stop. Octavio shows her a suitcase full of money, asks how much she needs to salve her conscience, cure her fear.
At the drug headquarters, the team meets and talks. Alfonso tells them the situation is difficult, must bury interpersonal problems. The enemy is outside not inside.
Natalia and Porfilio look at photos of Maricruz's baby, hope they will help her. She hates what is happening in the country, with drugs everywhere, even in public schools. A woman from social services visits Natalia, says she must take the baby. It no longer needs medical attention. Natalia says the baby's mother needs a chance; the social worker reminds Natalia that the baby is a person too, who deserves the best, daily attention and love.
Tony presents some information re the medals; only two names fit: Ignacio (dead) and the director of Cincom, El General. El General goes to Daniel's office, sees a picture of her child, can't believe she is divorced: how could any man leave her. Alfonso presents the information to Daniel, with El General there. Daniel tells him that he already knows and it has been clarified. Daniel dismisses El General. Alfonso shows Daniel the medal the woman gave him. Daniel tells Alfonso what El General said but agrees to let Alfonso continue the investigation undercover.
El Capitan asks Sandra about her relationship with Carbajal. She asks him why he wants to know, more data for the next interrogation. He tells her she is being unjust. She asks him what is going on; he admits that he is jealous.
Castillo talks with Johnson about a potential operation in Chile. Johnson says it sounds interesting. Castillo is tired of being "dead"; Johnson tells him it is still a useful deception.

USA 10/21-25/02.
10/21/02 - Porfilio talks with Octavio, tells him that Natalia needs a vacation. Octavio tells Natalia to come with him, no questions, and she does. She packs and tells Lizbeth who mentions their 1-day vacation in Cuernavaca to Gisela when she calls.
Castillo tells Johnson to relax.
El General tells El Capitan Oscuria about the witness who was killed, how he used her to get information many years before. He tells El Capitan to follow Alfonso, find out everything he is doing. [I think].
Alfonso meets with his group in the bar, knows they are being followed. Alfonso doesn't like El General but is sure he is honest. They have to plan a strategy so they do their work in secret. First, he says, they have to get to know all the people who work in the anti-drug operation, discover their witnesses.
Barbara talks to Daniel about something but he doesn't seem to be listening, tells her that the issue of El General bothers him.
Octavio meets with two men who propose a business deal involving weapons, then he discusses the stock market, pays off both of them and receives some documents in exchange.
In the clinic, the social worker takes away Maria, Maricruz's baby.
In Cuernavaca, Natalia goes to the pool and hears, then sees Castillo with his woman. Natalia calls Barbara, says she must reach Alfonso at once. On the phone, she tells Alfonso that "he is here", the man who kidnapped her is 'here"; while on the phone, she sees Octavio join him. She tells Alfonso where she is. Octavio can't believe Castillo is being so public, tells him that Natalia is here, can't afford for them to be seen together. Octavio stops by a lounge chair, puts things in the purse (Natalia's) and walks away. Alfonso makes plans with his group to go to Cuernavaca in two cars. When Octavio gets back to his room, Natalia asks him to whom he was talking. Octavio says he doesn't know him, was a drunk who approached him. She tells him they must leave, that he was the man who kidnapped her, was in the clinic. She tells him they must leave and he has called Alfonso. Alfonso calls Daniel to tell him, says he needn't come. Octavio tells Natalia not to leave the room; he goes off, supposedly to get the chauffeur. Daniel calls El General. Alfonso and his group arrive at the club, spread out. Octavio finds Castillo and warns him. The two split up. Castillo kills a woman (I think it was the woman he was with) with a knife. Octavio returns to the room to find Natalia gone. Somehow, Natalia finds herself in a doorway with the dead woman. She is about to scream when Alfonso appears, quiets her and holds her. Octavio sees Natalia with Alfonso, yells at her for leaving the room. Alfonso says they found a dead woman. Then he calls Tony who says he can't see anybody with a gun. Octavio hides Castillo in the trunk of his car, calls to Natalia. Octavio taunts Alfonso re his men and his arms, wonders why he always arrives at the right place but too late. Natalia leaves with Octavio. That night, Alfonso sits by the pool and thinks. Natalia appears.

10/22/02 - Natalia and Octavio argue in the car, she has him stop it, gets out, goes back(?), finds Alvaro by the pool. He kisses her. They talk, tussle, fall in the pool. Later, in a room, they make love before the fireplace. Octavio reminds Castillo that he is supposed to be dead. Castillo tells Octavio that it was his woman who saw him, it was his fault. El General asks El Capitan if he knows where "his" men are at the moment. Porfilio and Lizbeth are together when Octavio barges in asking where Natalia is. Then he goes to Lourdes and asks the same question. El General tells Daniel the results would prove him right: all he has achieved is one disaster after another, in the full glare of publicity. He tells Daniel to hire Natalia a bodyguard, to stop calling out Alfonso's troops everytime she gets in trouble. Daniel reminds him that his daughter is both a victim and a witness. Castillo tells Sapodrillo he had to kill his woman(?). Sandra thinks of Alfonso, gets a large bouquet of flowers from El Capitan. Lourdes tells Daniel she isn't sure that Natalia still loves Octavio. Octavio thinks they are a stable couple, just in a different stage of love. Octavio soothes his frustration with Gisela. Alfonso and Natalia drive back home. Navarro tells the group that he got a call from the brother of the dead witness. Alfonso returns to his apartment. Natalia returns to the clinic, learns that the social worker took Maria. Navarro, Tony and ? find the brother and question him. El General watches the interrogation, learns she left a letter. Sandra, alone with Alfonso, asks him to be sincere, asks if he felt something when thy were together, if there is another woman. Natalia goes to Octavio, tells him they have to talk.

10/23/02 - Octavio apologizes to Natalia for his behavior, blames the situation, but says it was also partly her fault for the way she reacted. He tells her he loves her, that she is the woman of his life. Natalia tells him that yesterday was awful, they have to talk. He suggests they go far away together. She says it sounds wonderful, but they can't get away from themselves. She tries to tell him about Alfonso but can't and they are interrupted by a call from Barbara.
Alfonso and Sandra talk, but he refuses to be honest with her, can't say that he loves another woman. He tells her he hasn't any obligation to tell her about his personal life, only knows he doesn't want to hurt her. She tells him she just needs to know if he loves another (not her name, address, anything), if there is a chance. El Capitan watches them. Alfonso gets a call. El Capitan tries to talk to Sandra. She thanks him for the flowers.
Barbara gives Daniel his pills in the office, calls the doctor, arranges to take him home. Natalia arrives home, takes his blood pressure.
Bertalicia's brother tells his questioners he last saw her about a week before her murder, for dinner, that she said nothing. They ask about the letter, he is very nervous, changes his testimony, then admits that she gave him a letter solely for Alfonso. He has it with him. Alfonso's men leave him alone in the interrogation room (of course!). When Alfonso and his men return, El General has the letter and denies them the right to object to his having it. El Capitan reports something strange to El General who is reading the letter. El General stops his report, demands that he bring the witness to him. The team talks. Navarro is sure that El General is trying to cover up something. El General reads the letter, burns it. [Bertalicia] El General tells the brother, Eduardo, to do something re the letter that will guarantee his future and his family.
Gisela sends Octavio a gift, a mirror. Alfonso goes to Daniel's house. Natalia tells him her father is bad. He tells her they have to talk. She tells him there is too much to do, too much on her mind, goes back to her father.
Octavio meets with Gisela in the gallery. Octavio warns her that it is suspicious to go from poor to rich in one day, one must learn how to manage it. He tells her never to send a gift to him again.
El Capitan confronts Alfonso, reminds him that he is there under his orders. Alfonso doesn't agree. El Capitan tells Alfonso that he went on an operation without permission, an operation that, again, didn't work. Alfonso asks him which of his operations have succeeded. El Capitan raises another issue, between men: Sandra Quiroz.
Sandra tells her friend that she has fallen in love with Alfonso. They made love once, but he wouldn't spend the night and he treats her as if it never happened.
Barbara talks to Lourdes about what happened to Daniel in the office, feels guilty that she didn't know he hadn't taken his medicine. Lourdes tells Barbara that since she learned the truth, her only wish has been to help Daniel live his last days to the fullest. Daniel looks at a calendar, two months to live. Daniel calls El General Jimenez to remind him of a meeting, says he will report on the case of Bertalicia in the morning.
Maricruz visits the clinic and asks to see her baby, the doctor starts to explain when, luckily, Natalia arrives with the baby in her arms.
Alfonso visits Sandra, tells her that he is worried about her, that he cares for her.

10/24/02 - Maricruz thanks Natalia, apologizes for thinking she would betray her. Natalia has to return the baby after Maricruz leaves. Porfilio tells Natalia she'll have to tell Lizbeth so she can finish writing her story.
Sandra asks Alfonso if it is possible that they could dine, see a movie, make love with her and spend the night. He tells her it is possible, he likes her, but he doesn't love...She shuts the door.
Daniel tells Lourdes he has to have a meeting in his house tonight: 12 - 15 people from the US Embassy, El General's people, etc.
? tells Alfonso that the group doesn't feel like a group.
Saporillo tells Castillo that the duplicate plane is ready (even the pilots are similar).
Lizbeth tells Natalia that she is writing a story of Maricruz, without names, but without sentimentality. She admits that she likes the idea of Porfilio helping her, she likes him, a lot, the word "siempre" has appeared in her life, she wants to share her life with him. Natalia tells Lizbeth she doesn't know about her wedding with Octavio, has doubts. She doesn't know if she loves Alfonso or Octavio or neither, feels she must talk with Octavio first. Lizbeth doesn't understand why, should talk to Alfonso.
Porfilio visits Lizbeth. He is very nervous. They talk a bit about the article she wants to write. She tells him she always feels nervous before starting something new. They kiss and make out on the sofa. She takes him to her bedroom. Afterwards, in bed, they talk.
Navarro talks with Bertalicia's brother again. He gives Memo the letter "returned" by El General and ensures him that it is the letter of his sister. She tells him she has the urge to laugh, drink the whole bottle of vine, says she admires him, respects him. He promises her this and more, only asks that she not be afraid.
In CenCon, two men watch the planes. One goes for El Capitan who, at the moment is talking with Araceli, in hopes of seeing Sandra. Sandra lets him in. He asks her to a party, to the party at Daniel's. He offers her a flower; she accepts. Sandra asks Araceli for help in dressing and making up. Araceli accuses her of going to the party to see Alfonso. Alfonso's man says something to Navarro about the planes.
The "party" at Daniel's: Daniel introduces Minister Wallace to Natalia and Octavio. El General congratulates Natalia on her coming marriage, comments on what he has read of Octavio in the press. Natalia leaves them to talk with Alfonso. He feels it is necessary to apologize for his presence. Before she can say anything, Octavio joins her. Natalia leaves them to see to her father. Daniel greets Alfonso, presents him to Johnson from the DEA.
Johnson says he thought he was taller, heard of him when he was in Los Angeles. Johnson says that he works closely with CenCon, with El General. The agency is very pleased with the relationship. Octavio asks Natalia why she is talking to a psychopath who likes her. El General asks when the marriage will be; Octavio says there are lots of details to resolve yet. El General says that all that matters is love. Natalia again walks away, looks at Alfonso, hides in her father's office and cries. Octavio and Alfonso, left alone together again, Octavio tells Alfonso that his appreciation for Natalia is apparent but she is in a different class. Wallace introduces himself to the "famous" Carbajal. Alfonso tells Wallace that drugs wouldn't get into the U.S. if there weren't people there waiting for them. El General tells Lourdes that his wife is visiting their children. Sandra arrives at the party; Wallace notices Alfonso looking at her. Daniel tells Johnson and Wallace there are many funny stories about the death of Castillo. Alfonso joins José Angel and Sandra. Lourde finds Natalia in the office. Natalia calls Octavio bueno, noble but admits she is afraid, has regrets. Lourdes guesses she loves another.
Castillo tells somebody on the phone he wants something in two weeks. Sapodrillo tells him the flights are ready. Sapodrillo tells him he has a surprise: two women and a band.

10/25/02 - El General greets Bárbara, asks how he can find such a beautiful assistant. Octavio introduces himself to Sandra, tells her that he is Natalia's novio. She admits that she works for Carbajal, knows him well enough, tells Octavio they are a couple. Alfonso goes to Daniel's office. Natalia tells him she has to figure things out. He tells her she is the only woman for him. She says they must put their lives together; he agrees, but together. Sandra walks in on them as they are kissing. Sandra apologizes. Alfonso starts to explain. Natalia starts to leave. Octavio asks Lourdes for Natalia, goes to the office and finds the three. Sandra says that she just came in, was looking for Alfonso. Octavio tells Alfonso he thought he had made himself clear. Natalia hears Alfonso tell Octavio that he hasn't responded to his gibes for respect of Daniel, but they will be answered. After Alfonso and Sandra leave, Octavio demands that Natalia tell him what she was doing alone with Alfonso. Natalia tells him that she was there, that Alfonso entered. She is very nervous, half crying. He tells her she is driving him crazy, how would she feel in his place. He tells her he feels that he is losing her. She walks out of the office, goes to her bedroom and cries. Her mother finds her there. Natalia tells her mother that for the first time in her life, she doesn't know what to do with her life. Lourdes tells her she will tell Octavio she is tired and will spend the night there, but says also that she must make a decision soon.
In the bar, the team discusses the letter. Barretto thinks it stsrange that El General returned the letter to the brother. Alma suggests it is because it wasn't useful. Navarro gets a call from Gerardo about the plans, says he'll contact Alfonso at once. Navarro tells them about the two planes. Alma says it is the method used by Cielos. Navarro explains how it works. They discuss what they need to do.
Sapodrillo gives Castillo an update on the planes. Castillo tells Sapodrillo not to worry about El General, he'll simply capture two empty planes.
Daniel talks with El General about relations with the U.S. re the drug trade. Alfonso interrupts them to tell them about the two plances, says he has to go back to CenCon. He takes Sandra with him. El General follows with El Capitan.
Gerardo tells the whole team minus El General and El Capitan what may be happening. They put together a plan and leave. Alfonso asks Sandra to stay. He apologizes to her, says it is a delicate situation. Sandra reminds him that Natalia is engaged. She says goodnight, doesn't know if she will be back. El General calls Castillo, tells him he must send men. Castillo tells him to go ahead. El General tells his men to take Gerardo (Bertalicia's brother) after telling him he will get his money later. El Capitan tells El General he is going with Carbajal's group.
Porfilio and Lizbeth have breakfast together. He tells her it is the third time in his life that he has cooked something.
El General has breakfast with Castillo who tells him things are going perfectly; both planes will be found empty. Alfonso and his men are at an airport. Sandra goes to Octavio's office. He asks her how she can be with Carbajal, asks her what she is doing there, does she think he doesn't know that Alfonso likes Natalia. Octavio tells her that he knows Natalia, she is his woman. He refuses to be an accomplice to her problems. He dismisses her and makes a phone call. Sandra leaves.
Natalia talks with her father, says she wants to cancel the wedding. She is surprised that her mother didn't tell him, that she isn't sure she loves Octavio because she thinks she is falling in love with another man, with Alfonso. Sapodrillo talks with Castillo on the phone, says all is going well. Alfonso and his men spring on them.

USA 10/28/02-11/1/02:
10/28/02. Natalia admits to her father Daniel that she is in love with Alfonso. He can't believe it, says he is a good man but is a policemant. Natalia tells him even Alfonso doesn't know. She tells him she doesn't know how it happened. Alfonso's operation is a success. When El General goes to the computer room, Alfonso's man tells him all went perfectly, tells him about the dual planes, etc. Alfonso calls Daniel. El General decides to make the best of a bad situation and issues a press release, has El Capitan take the credit.
Sapodrillo has Jorge shoot a man in a lookout tower, then shoot him in the leg. Then Sapodrillo kills him. Castillo gets word and is furious. The injured Sapordrillo arrives, says they were surprised, Jorge was killed. Sapodrillo gives his version of what happened. Castillo threatens to kill him but doesn't.
Gisela taunts Octavio about his problems with Natalia, says he calculated wrong, forgot that Natalia could fall in love with somebody else.
Alfonso and his team celebrate in the bar.
Natalia tells Lizbeth she thinks she is in love and doesn't know what to do. She goes to Alfonso's apartment where he is playing the trombone. They talk, she tells him she loves him, they kiss.
Sandra talks to Alma about her feelings, her feeling foolish. She thinks that Alfonso is el hombre de su vida. Alma tells her she has to stop thinking about Alfonso, except to say to herself that he loves another. She has to focus on other things. Sandra says she can't: she wakes up thinking of him, goes to sleep thinking of him. It makes her angry, afraid (because it is similar to her need for drugs).
Octavio looks for Natalia: in the clinic, at Lizbeth's. Octavio tells Lizbeth he can feel Natalia distancing herself from him, feels he is losing her. Lizbeth assures him she doesn't know where she is.
Lourdes talks with Arnoldo about Daniel and sex. He tells her he can have sex, that it isn't she. With death so near, many things change. Arnoldo tells Lourdes she must help Daniel recover this part of his life.

10/29/02. Somebody walks into the bar who seems to strike fear into Tony. Natalia tells Octavio she is in love with somebody else, admits it is Alfonso. Gisela asks Lizbeth what is going on and she tells her about Natalia and Alfonso. Alma tells Alfonso about Sandra's feelings for him; he tells her that he was always honest with Sandra. Castillo tells El General he has to get rid of Alfonso and Daniel. Octavio sticks a gun in Alfonso's back as he starts to open a door. Sandra and Natalia meet each other in front of Alfonso's apartment. Lourdes talks to Daniel's doctor, Arnoldo?, about sex and learns that there is no reason not to have sex, but that Daniel may be fearful.

10/30/02. Octavio threatens Alfonso with his own gun and then with both their guns, doesn't understand how Natalia could prefer him, finally drops the guns and returns Alfonso's, swearing that he will destroy him that he doesn't know whom Octavio is. Alfonso points his gun at Octavio and says the same, then drops it. Lourdes asks Daniel why he hasn't made love to her recently, gets no answer, tells him that she wants to be his woman, not his mother. Hugo visits Daniel in the office and expresses his disappointment that he wasn't put in charge of the team, complains about Alfonso's lack of leadership, suggests that he is responsible for all of the team's failures, that the one drug bust success was just that, "one". In the bar, Navarro greets Tony with a swat on his rear and Tony erupts, hitting him, drawing a gun on him. Alma has to separate them. Alfonso visits Natalia in the clinic. She asks him about Sandra. He tells her that she is the woman he loves, that his life has two parts: before and after Natalia. Lourdes finds them kissing. Natalia tries to explain after Alfonso leaves, but all she can really say is that she is in love. Sapodrillo steals a file and gives it to Johnson who is having breakfast with Castillo. Wallace goes to Octavio's office, says they must get rid of Alfonso and Daniel. Octavio thinks it would be enough to get rid of Alfonso, suggests that there may be somebody inside who can help, somebody who resents or dislikes Alfonso. Gisela visits Octavio and tells him she is tired of his treatment, but the conversation doesn't seem to reach any conclusion. Johnson visits Gisela, tells her he knows about the video and it wasn't a nice thing to do. Gisela tells him she is through with Octavio. He tells her he has business, gives her a photo of Hugo. El General calls El Capitan out of a personal meeting with Sandra in which he has suggested they give each other a chance. El General sends him on some kind of assignment that seems to surprise and displease him. El General meets with Castillo about how to rid themselves of Alfonso and Daniel. Sandra receives a gift from Octavio with a note that they share their defeat, if she wishes.

10/31/02. Alfonso and, especially, Natalia are uncomfortable when they find Octavio with her parents. Octavio reminds Natalia that he loves her parents as his own. Lourdes tells them that he remains a friend of the family. Daniel talks with Alfonso in his office, suggests that he is not concentrating on his work, etc. Alfonso tells him that he loves his daughter, that he shares Daniel's frustration about the work. In the living room, Octavio talks with Natalia who is still upset by his presence. He still can't understand how she can set aside a 2-year relationship. She tells him they have discussed it. Before leaving with Alfonso, Natalia makes it clear that she has made her decision. She and Alfonso spend a night "on the town". When he sees a photographer taking pictures of a married couple, he impulsively asks the man to take a picture of them and, with the permission of the couple, pose in front of them on the steps. They go back to his apartment. She tells him that on the beach she felt she had known him all his life, now she feels the opposite. She asks him about his father. He tells her he grew up worshippping him, when he found out what he really was, it hurt but when he died, he felt a loss. She says she understands a bit, she is watching her father die. But, he reminds her, her father is honorable. They kiss again. Lourdes and Daniel dine and talk. She reminds him of her father's reaction when they started dating, tells him that Natalia is in love and it is her life.
Meanwhile, Sandra debates accepting the date with Octavio. Johnson visits Gisela, tells her she works for them, can't get out, gives her the facts on Hugo. Octavio talks with Gisela on the phone, tells her to just follow orders, everything is set. Gisela is attacked, as arranged, by a man that night in the vicinity of Hugo who, of course, saves her life.
In the bar, Tony tells Hugo he has to kill a man. It appears that the man he ran from earlier abused him when he was 10. Hugo tries to convince him to act within the law, they are sure to be able to find something that will put the man in jail. It isn't enough for Tony. Later, Hugo talks with Memo, says they are not normal: normal people go to work on the subway, go shopping, etc. Alma confesses to Tamara that she would like to have a child. Tamara tells her it means never being alone again; but that is what attracts Alma.
El Capitan calls somebody in authority from the city where he was sent as part of the plan made by Castillo. When Sandra doesn't appear at Octavio's apartment, he sends his chauffeur to pick her up. She appears at his door later, dressed and wearing the perfume he sent her. In a meeting with El General, Castillo and Johnson, Wallace reviews something that will make Daniel appear to be the most corrupt person in the country.

11/1/02 - Castillo, Johnson, Wallace and El General discuss how little money Daniel has in his bank accounts, how little stock he has it is obvious he needs help. Castillo tells Wallace to act fast, wants every finger in the country to point at his corruption.
Octavio tells Sandra that Natalia told him in this apartment that she was in love with Carbajal. Then he gets Sandra drunk. She tells him that she and Alfonso were together for only one night. Octavio gets her very drunk, without much effort, and she falls asleep in his apartment. He looks through her purse.
Natalia and Alfonso make love. He asks why she became a doctor. He convinces her to spend the night with him since the next day is Saturday. Octavio calls Alfonso's apartment, demands to talk to Natalia. He asks to see her a last time and she agrees. Then he wakes up Sandra with an orange juice. After Sandra leaves, Natalia arrives (the door is open) and sees huge photos of police scenes in which Alfonso participated. Octavio appears, tells her that when Alfonso comes home at night and says the day was fine, this is what he will mean. He asks her if that is what she wants. He reads from Alfonso's file, all the people he has killed, the charges filed against him for abuses. She tells him she doesn't have to support this. Octavio tells her this is Alfonso Carbajal, the man she wants to share her life with. He tells her there is still time, he will forgive her, asks her to return to him. He repeats that he wants her to think, he will forgive her. She gets up to leave, he asks that she listen. She stays. He asks her if she wants to celebrate with his friends, have them play with her children. Then he asks her if he knows Sandra, she went undercover, became an addict because Alfonso didn't rescue her. She tells him she doesn't want to hear any more. She tells him she doesn't want to return to him, doesn't want to listen to him anymore. He accepts, but tells her to ask Sandra about the intimate relationship she had with Alfonso.
Hugo takes Gisela inside his home, treats her minor injury. She thanks him, introduces herself as Massima Ricausi; her father was Italian, she was born in Estonia. She leaves him her name, the name of her gallery, thanks him again.
At Cencom, El General tells Hugo he's reviewed his file, praises his work, tells him he is the kind of person he'd like to work with him, promises to have work for him that won't be a waste of time.
Alma visits Alfonso, tells him she'd like him to help her have a child. He doesn't understand what she wants of him. He tells her he has thought of having children but in terms of raising them. She apologizes if her proposition seems awful. He tells her it isn't that, but it also isn't that simple. She tells him that some way she is going to have a child, asks him to forget the conversation. She leaves. He follows.
In the bar, Tony's abuser appears and he takes out his gun, hides. Memo watches him. The abuser asks for a beer. Tony walks around the bar. Memo continues to watch.
Back in her apartment, a hungover Sandra talks with her friend, tells her they spent the whole night talking about Octavio's love for Natalia. She says she feels bad although there was no touching, no kisses, no nothing. But she feels more and more alone, mixed up.
USA, 11/4-8/02. 11/4/02 - Octavio tells Natalia he could hurt her, could announce publicly the illness of her father, which would mean his resignation. She asks him if he could do such a thing. He tells her no, he couldn't hurt the woman he loves. He tells her to leave. She goes and leaves her ring behind. He takes the ring, says he won't hurt her but somebody will pay. In CenCom, Hugo tells Alfonso, irnoically, it is good to see him, says they are wasting time. He told Solisino and now he is telling Alfonso, in his face. Hugo asks him where he is all the time, what is he doing as chief. Hugo tells him he feels like a fool, waiting for him to explain. Alfonso is surprised, thought they were friends. Hugo tells him he no longer knows him. Alfonso guesses that he is jealous.
In his study, Lourdes confronts Daniel, says he is always too busy for her. She tells him she can't be quiet any longer, wonders when they can talk. She feels foolish, insecure, doesn't want to feel dead. He tells her he is the one who is dying, has only a short time and wants to spend them they way he wants to. She asks him if that means he doesn't want to spend them with her, is there another woman? He tells her he has been happy by her side.
In the bar, Hugo talks to Tamara about his feelings, says he's talked with Solisino, El General, Alfonso. Tamara suggests the problem is with him not with Alfonso, asks him if he has a life outside of work, needs something more, perhaps a woman. Two men in a car talk, one takes a gun and gets out. The man aims a gun at Alfonso after he walks by, but Alfonso was ready: turned and shot him first. Alfonso takes him to the clinic where Natalia admits him. Alfonso tells her he shot in self-defense, has to know who sent him. While Natalia is operating, she recalls the scene with Octavio. Meanwhile, Memo follows Tony who is following the man he hates, gun in hand. Finally, he calls out to the man as he aims. The man doesn't recognize him. Memo comes up behind Tony and grabs him. The man gets away. Memo tells Tony to calm down. The man isn't worth it. They talk. Tony tells Memo he has "seen" the man everywhere since he was a child. Memo tells him the same thing is true of his son, he sees him everywhere, then remembers the blood, his dying in his arms. Tony says he's tried to convince himself it was just a nightmare, never happened. Tony asks him what one does with the pain, the anger. Memo says one learns to live with it, tells him he won't gain anything with murder, won't change what happened.
Octavio visits Castillo, tells him how he bought the help of a long-time friend of Solisino's. With Solisino destroyed, Alfonso won't be a problem. Octavio tells Castillo he will take care of Alfonso. Castillo tries to find out what is going on, but Octavio tells him friendship is one thing, intimacy another. He will handle Alfonso. Later, Octavio learns that Alfonso shot first, that the man probably won't live. Octavio seems pleased in any case, especially if the man dies.
Sandra tells Alma she can't concentrate, admits it is her feelings for Alfonso. Sandra swears she doesn't want to sacrifice herself, has been a victim all her life, doesn't want to be one now. Alma tells her that many women have wanted Alfonso, been attracted to him, even she. Alma tells Sandra she asked Alfonso to help her be a mother; he refused. Alma explains how much she wants a child, but not a child of just anybody. Sandra tells her she wants everything: a real partner as well as children.
Lizbeth goes to Gisela's gallery, says it is over between Natalia and Octavio. Hugo goes to the gallery and tells Lizbeth he is looking for a woman named Massima.
That night, Daniel tells Lourdes he loves her. Porfilio calls and tells Lourdes about the shooting.
Castillo tells Sapodrillo to start with Sandra, since Octavio is taking care of Alfonso.
Sandra visits Alfonso in his apartment, says she is resigning, has to separate herself from him. The hired killer dies on the operating table. Octavio arrives at the clinic and Natalia can barely look at him.

11/5/02 - Octavio tells Natalia he heard what happened, offers her a coffee and a chance to talk. In a coffee shop, she talks about a young boy who died. He emphasizes the fact that it was Alfonso who shot the man, admits that the photos he showed her were also a form of violence. He asks her to look at him as a friend, a disinterested friend. He tells her that she doesn't want this violence in her life. He won't give her that, but Alfonso will. Octavio tells her that he studied law, met a lot of cops, think with their guns. Natalia tells him to stop. He calls Alfonso un paton, un imbecile. He reminds her it was she who wanted to talk, to leave the hospital because he killed a man, now she knows who Alfonso really is.
Sandra tells Alfonso she has to resign because she has to get away from him. He says it is foolish, but she tells him that she loves him, wants him and wants him to love her in return. She kisses him goodbye and leaves.
Castillo talks with Sapodrillo, asks him to bring Sandra to him, on her knees, asap.
Gisela appears at the door just as Lizbeth is telling Hugo he must be mistaken.
In the bar, Alfonso tells Navarro he can't reach Natalia, tells him nothing makes sense. Navarro asks him what woman wants her child to be a cop; Alfonso says all the names cops are called, asks why?
Hugo and Gisela go to a bar. She asks him about his life, the man behind the badge. He tells her he is alone, would like to fall in love.
El Capitan tells El General the contact has worked for the Juarez cuartel as a lawyer, can't get out, so is offering evidence in exchange for a new life.
Johnson calls Octavio on his cell phone while he is back in the clinic with Natalia. Johnson tells him the poor Capitan thinks he is doing something important; Octavio confirms that almost everything is ready for the fall of Solisino. Alfonso arrives at the clinic and finds Octavio with Natalia. Alfonso takes her aside. She tells him it was a boy of 19, that he killed. She leaves with Octavio. He takes her to Lizbeth's, tells her he loves her and that is the grandest truth in his life.
While Sandra is watching TV in her room, El Capitan arrives with a live lobster in a bag full of water. She laughs, they laugh together. She's afraid to take the lobster out of the bag. They struggle with it, it falls to the floor. He tells her he loves her. They watch the lobster boil. José Angel tells her he loved her from the first. She tells him she can't stop thinking of Alfonso, like a 15-year-old. He tells her he doesn't want details. She apologizes. He asks her if he is ugly, what is wrong with him. He asks her if he has a chance, in two minutes, two hours, two decades.

11/6/02 - Alfonso tells Natalia he studied the killer's file: 8 charges against him. He was a professional killer, getting 10 or 20,000 pesos per hit. He asks her to come with him. He takes her for a walk, tells her about his father, about never living with him, not knowing he had a brother until he was 15. In school, he liked chemistry, doesn't know why. He wanted to be a pilot, a priest, lots of different things but saw his father as an idol, wanted to be honest and real like him. They go for a canal boat ride. Natalia tries to explain to explain her feelings when the young man died. He tells her he acted in self-defense, she seems to think that he liked doing what he did He tells her he loves her, would do anything for her. She tells him she loves him, too, but she can't separate what he is from what he does. He tells her this is who he is. She tells him she can't forget the kidnapping, etc. He accuses her of comparing him to the man who kidnapped her, who threatened her in the clinic. He takes her to Gerardo in CenCom to have him create a picture of the man who kidnapped and threatened her.
Sapodrillo follows Sandra, returns to Castillo and tells him he has her pegged. Then Castillo studies a number of women, sort of a private modeling show. Castillo selects Dolores as the woman to trap Carbajal. Castillo tells Sapodrillo he wants to see Alfonso face-to-face before killing him.
In CenCom, the team talks about the case of Bertalicia, how it was just dropped.
Octavio tells Johnson that Natalia is just a means to a new end, to the procuraderia. Jimenez controlling the angry, he controlling DEA, ? laundering money, Octavio as Procurador, after Solisino. They will be in control of the entire operation.
Barbara is about to invite Hugo somewhere when he gets a call from Massima. She drops the subject.
José Angel goes to Sandra's apartment, tells her El General wants to see her.
Octavio is waiting in Daniel's house when he and Lourdes return, talking about the negative change in his health and whether or not to tell Natalia. [I'm not sure if Octavio overhears, but he takes pains to pretend he was elsewhere in the house.] Daniel tells Octavio he doesn't understand his current interest in his work. Octavio explains that he got a request from the States re money laundering in Mexico; they want a technical evaluation. He doesn't see any reason to work for a country that isn't his, offers his help to Daniel, gives him a file. Octavio tells Daniel he's not sure how he can help, but is opposed to money laundering in his country, knows of Daniel's illness, would like to help him. Daniel accepts his offer.
El General questions Sandra about her resignation, tells her he is the highest authority and tells El Capitan to leave when he points out that that Alfonso works for Solisino. He suggests that they use "tu" and he will call her Sandra. He tells her she can't resign. She says she'd done it, denies it has anything to do with Alfonso. He tells her it is a matter of national security. She knows CenCom, how it operates. She tells him he can't force her to stay. He offers her a job working directly for him.
Hugo arrives at the expensive restaurant Massima suggested. She offers him the champagne she ordered.
José Angel finds Natalia with Gerardo, interrupts El General and Sandra, just after Sandra has refused his offer, to tell him Natalia is in CenCom. El General goes to Gerardo's section, tells Alfonso Natalia shouldn't be there, even after Alfonso explains she is there as a witness. After they leave, he tells Gerardo to erase the file, but I think Gerardo has already made a copy for Alfonso. Octavio goes to Daniel's office, gets permission from Bernarda to review some things. Octavio tells her he is just helping Daniel, doing an assesoria. After she leaves the room, he calls Johnson to tell him where he is, seated in their future.
Alma and Memo look at a file. She says there is no sign of Gerardo. He senses something strange. Alma tells Tamara "he didn't want to".
Alfonso takes Natalia back to the clinic. He realizes she doesn't like where he worked. She tells him there seem to be two of him. She tells him her father doesn't use guns, doesn't kill. He tells her that arms are a part of the fight. She tells him she loves him, but. He tells her one must make choices in life.
Leaving CenCom, Gerardo bumps into Sandra and El Capitan. She sees the picture he put together, takes the paper and puts it in her pocket.
Castillo waits outside the clinic and sees Alfonso leave, arranges to bump into him. Castillo stops him says he is sure he knows him. Octavio sees the two talking and wonders. When Natalia enters her office, she finds a woman there who says they must talk, of Alfonso.

El General talks with Castillo, tells him that El Capitan Escurdia is completely honest and obedient, will, without knowing it, give them Solisino. Castillo laughs at his pride in the army, gives him his money. Castillo asks him what they will do with Alfonso's crew now that Solisino is gone.
Alfonso drinks alone in his room. When he wakes up, he thinks of his father, asks himself if he is going to stay alone.
When Octavio goes home, Gisela is waiting. She tells him she has been with Hugo: insipid, vulgar. She tells him she can't. He tells her she must enjoy the pleasure of dominating others. They have sex. They talk. He asks her why she can't separate sex from love. She tells him she loves him. He tells her she has no chance, he really is in love with Natalia. He loves her eyes, her arms, her breasts, etc. Gisela asks him to stop, prefers to think he is with her por interes. He tells her to concentrate on her work, on her cop. He tells her to make him fall in love, give her expensive things, destroy himself.
Natalia wakes up from a nightmare. The next day in the clinic, Maricruz talks to her about her baby, about how she is always present even when she isn't physically there: somebody who matters, who needs one.
Tony tells the team that Bertalicia's brother has disappeared. El General asks El Capitan where Alfonso and Sandra are. El Capitan tells him that Sandra resigned. El General tells him that he is the one she must offer her resignation to.
Sapodrillo follows Sandra. Johnson plays with a snake in Castillo's office. Castillo tells him they are going to make Carbajal's life a misery. Alfonso goes to Natalia's office, puts his gun on her desk, reminds her that she came for him, he is there because of her.

11/7/02 - "Doris" tells Natalia she has long been Alfonso's woman, he supports her, he told her about Natalia. Natalia tells her to leave just as Octavio arrives.
Sandra refuses to return to El General's office. He orders El Capitan to follow her and stop her from leaving. El General finds the drawing of Castillo on the floor.
Octavio tells Castillo he saw everything, accuses him of taking an unnecesary risk.
Sandra tells El Capitan about El General's "request" that she work "closely" with him. He tells her El General can't force her, but she isn't sure. She tells him the drawing is of Armando Castillo.
Octavio tells Natalia he wants to continue to be close to her father, to help him, asks her again who the woman was, guesses she had something to do with Alfonso.
When Gerardo gives Alfonso the drawing, he recognizes the man who approached him in front of the clinic, calls her, asks if she's seen a stranger. Natalia asks if he means his lover. He stops her, tells her to go home at once, he'll explain later, loves her.
El General calls Daniel, says there is a member of the cartel who wants to come in. Daniel replies that is goo but reminds him what happened to the other witness. El General tells him that this time it will be in professional hands, but he tells Daniel not everybody takes security seriously, tells him that Natalia was in CenCom.
Alfonso goes to Sandra's apartment. She tells him that he doesn't need her now, has Natalia's testimony. El Capitan insists on talking alone with Alfonso and they leave.
Navarro tells Hugo and Tony he is sure that the letter Gerardo gave them isn't the same that his sister Bertalicia Romero gave him.
Natalia talks with Lizbeth. She tells Natalia she doesn't know what to make of the woman, but Natalia can't ask the man she loves to give up his work. Then Sandra arrives, asks Natalia to confirm that the man in the drawing is the one who attacked her. She does; Sandra tells her it is Armando Castillo, el señor de los cielos is alive. Sandra warns her their lives are in danger. Sandra tells Natalia she doesn't want to talk about what happened to her, about the rapes, the addiction. But she continues, says that every morning she has to find a reason to live. Natalia tells her she doesn't know how she can live like that, always under threat. Sandra tells her Natalia it would be better for her to stop seeing Alfonso. He arrives, Sandra tells him that Natalia will explain about the drawing. She notices the bruise on his cheek; he says it was a fight over a personal problem. She tells him she is tired of feeling threatened, tired of the nightmare, the man, the sense of danger, his "personal" problem, the woman who said she was his lover. She doesn't want to be a part of this, her love for him has been converted into pain, into nothing.
Octavio tells Castillo the trick with the woman was dumb. Then El General arrives with the drawing, shows it to them, tells Castillo he is risking the entire operation. If his existence comes to light, all the attention will be focused on him. Castillo insists it is just a drawing, but El General reminds him that people have seen him since he "died", can identify him from the drawing. Castillo reminds them of all the money he pays to support them and the others, that he will take care of Sandra and Natalia.
El Capitan takes Alfonso to a boxing ring, they put on gloves and fight. Alfonso tells José Angel that he isn't in love with Sandra, can't help her feelings. Then they start to laugh, get serious.
Barbara tells Daniel that Octavio was in his office, looking through his papers, was it ok? Daniel tells him that Octavio can be very useful. Octavio arrives, says he's reviewed the documents, has made some recommendations on how to prevent the money laundering. Daniel asks him to coordinate that with Barbara.
Castillo plays bullfighter, gives Sapodrillo orders.
In the bar, Alfonso talks with his group, says that Sandra was right, Castillo is alive. If they can prove Castillo is alive,.....
Alfonso's team goes to the clinic. Alfonso tells Daniel that Castillo is probably alive. Natalia gets a message to see Dr. Porfilio, finds him tid up with a bag over his face containing the drawing of Cstillo. Men grab her. Sapodrillo unmasks himself. Sapodrillo starts to hit Porfilio.
Hugo and Navarro gets to the room where Natalia and Porfilio are being held.

11/8/02 - Sapodrillo and his men escape. Hugo and Memo enter and untie Porfilio. Daniel tells Alfonso he needs proof that Armando Castillo is alive; the picture isn't enough. Then they get a call from the clinic and go there. Natalia shows Alfonso the sketch on the paper bag put over Porfilio's head.
El General waits for Sandra in her apartment, offers her a gift. She refuses it and to work for him; just then El Capitan arrives and El General is forced to leave, with the gift.
Later, Sandra goes out on the street. Sapodrillo follows her. A man in a car seems to be following him or her. Sandra starts to run, the car bumps into Sapodrillo then stops for Sandra to get in. She asks who he is and he tells her to shut up in English. Then in Spanish he tells her he isn't going to kidnap her, knows who she and Sapodrillo and Castillo are, suggests he was following Sapodrillo, asks if she wants him to take her home. When he drops her off, he flashes a DEA badge.
Alfonso and his team talk a bit about the sketch but don't seem to realize it must have been given to Castillo's men by somebody in CenCom.
Octavio visits Natalia, demands to know how she could risk her life by creating a picture of her kidnapper [I think]. She tells him the sketch is of Armando Castillo; Sandra told her and she believes her [this is the information Octavio wanted to get from her]. Alfonso arrives with flowers and proposes. Octavio makes his presence known, makes some cynical comments, almost gets into a fist fight with Alfonso. She asks Octavio to leave, but Alfonso tells her he knows the two have things to clear up, he'll see her later. Natalia and Octavio talk, he tries to win her back but fails again and leaves.
In Tijuana, El Capitan meets with the supposed informer who insists that Daniel be present when he turns himself in. El General goes to Daniel's home and tells him, overrides Daniel's objections to going north.
Natalia goes to Alfonso's apartment, he re-affirms that he will give up everything for her, after he has finished this work for her father, says that until then it would be better not to see each other. She tells him they can try to be together; they kiss and make love. Meanwhile, Sandra has come to the door, listens at it, then slips an envelope under the door. Later, when Alfonso leaves, he sees the envelope but doesn't open it, just tosses it on his bed.
The DEA man goes to the bar. Sapodrillo goes to Sandra's apartment, uses a key to get in and searches the rooms. When he is in the bedroom, Sandra pounces on him from behind with her gun.
El General, Octavio and Castillo meet. Castillo gives the green light on the Tijuana operation: Octavio has "made" Daniel a rich man and he is going to Tijuana to meet the supposed informer.
Alfonso visits his father's grave, wonders why he is there.

USA, 11/11-15/02.
11/11/02 - At the grave, Alfonso is joined by Luis Mario, his half-brother.LM says things are fine with him and Camila and their work. LM asks him more about Tijuana, about his personal life. They promise to keep in touch, say goodbye.
Sandra takes Sapodrillo out of the apartment at gunpoint, forces him to drive a car. Sapodrillo assures her he isn't working for Castillo, is just an extra. She tells him she knows he is lying because she saw him. Then she has him call to say he has Sandra with him. He takes her to building which she, of course, enters alone.
Natalia tells her father she won't leave the clinic, will accept guards.
El General tells Octavio and Castillo all is ready for Solórzano.
Octavio tells Gisela, wearing new jewels, to seduce Hugo.
Before Alfonso leaves with Daniel, she takes him aside, tells him she fell in love with the man he is, will marry him.
On the plane to Tijuana, Daniel asks Alfonso what he would do if he had only two months to live. He says "Natalia". Daniel apologizes to him for how he reacted at first.
Porfilio admits to Natalia he is afraid, has nightmares. She tells him it will pass.
El Capitan tells Alfonso that El General got the tip, he met with the man who demanded to see Solórzano. He asks Alfonso if something about the meet concerns him. El Capitan assures Alfonso that Daniel will be well-guarded, admits he found little information about the man in the files: 50-odd but no other information. Alfonso calls Alma, who is with Gerardo and Memo in CenCom, and asks her to see if they can learn anything.
Octavio tells Natalia somebody is working against her father, preparing a frame. Octavio shows Natalia a bank account in her father's name, knows he never had so much money. Octavio tells Natalia not to call Barbara, she could be involved. He tells her he has the original of the documents, she should have them. Natalia calls Lourdes who assures her he hasn't got 10 million anywhere, she takes care of all the financial matters. Then she gets a bank statement in the mail, for 10 million. Natalia tries to call Alfonso. Octavio comes back with the documents. He tells Natalia it must have been done by Alfonso. She accuses him of being jealous, says she trusts and loves Alfonso, is going to marry him.
Alfonso goes to where the meet will take place, a warehouse of some kind. After he gets there, some men arrive and he hides, goes upstairs and watches. Daniel and El Capitan leave, after El Capitan ensures that Daniel wear a bullet-proof vest. They arrive at the warehouse with several armed men. The "turncoat" arrives; it is Adolfo Cardona, a man Solórzano knows. Alfonso watches from his place atop the stairs.
In the bar, the DEA man asks Hugo about Sandra Quieroz. Hugo explains his distrust: people in the DEA and police often change sides. The DEA man tells Hugo they have heard that Armando may be alive. Hugo tells him the DEA declared him dead; the DEA man says they assume that people were bought in the U.S.

11/12/02 - 11/12/02 - Adolfo tells Daniel that after all these years it is over. He hands him his testimony, shows him where there are sacks of cocaine, taken from the last drug raid. Daniel calls for Alfonso. He listens from his hiding place. El Capitan verifies the existence of the cocaine. Daniel says it is a frame. El Capitan aims a gun at Adolfo. Adolfo tells him to arrest them both, he has receipts of money deposited in Daniel's name in New York bank accounts, etc. The only guilty here are he and Daniel. Adolfo tells El Capitan he is there to surrender, has nowhere to go, has documents in his car. Ascurdio tells Daniel he must talk with El General. As Alfonso moves around, he is hit from behind, tied up, put into the trunk of a car. El Capitan agrees to resolve matters at CenCom. When they exit the building, they run into reporters.
Sapodrillo is about to fall from the building, begs Sandra to save him. She does. He tells her she saved him because he wasn't with Castillo when she was, his isn't a face she hates. Sandra calls and calls, can't get hold of anybody. She asks Sapodrillo why he is following her. He tells her that Castillo wants her, good memories? Sandra asks Sapodrillo what will happen to her. Sapodrillo proposes a pact: from this day she is deaad. Sandra returns his gun and he thanks her.
Octavio tells Natalia what she needs to prove the kind of man Alfonso is. He tells her he is tired, too; this proves they aren't the same people. For loyalty to her father, he will prove that Alfonso is guilty.
In CenCom, Johnson tells El General word has reached the DEA that Castillo is alive, the rumor is that somebody has been sent to investigate, somebody not on his payroll. El General tells him to take care of his men; El General will take care of his. El General tells Johnson they need to get the press to Tijuana.
When Hugo arrives at CenCom, Alma tells him they need help. Then Tony interrupts, tells them that part of the cocaine shipment captured was lost.
Natalia tells Elizabeth about the New York bank account, explains what it means, says she couldn't reach Alfonso or her father. Then she tells Elizabeth that Alfonso proposed. Lourdes calls her, tells her to turn on the news.
In Tijuana, a reporter says there is something odd about Daniel's presence in Tijuana and possible involvement with the cartel, that the procurador has refused to answer any questions, which is unusual for him. Castillo praises El General; it was worth the loss of the cocaine. El General isn't so sure: Daniel could still prove his innocence. Then Castillo gets word of Carbajal's capture. Octavio tells him to order him killed. Sapodrillo arrives.
When Hugo gets word of the drugs found in Tijuana, he tells the group this is an obvious frame. Tony plays the devil's advocate, asks if it could be the truth. He wouldn't be the first high government official to be involved with drugs. Alma says it is weird how the drugs were lost, found in Tijuana where Daniel was forced to go.
The men take Alfonso to the mountains. He escapes from the trunk, then is captured again. They take him to the edge of a cliff, one points a gun at his head. Alfonso manages to turn and knock one down, rolls with him down the cliff where he is shot by his partner. The other gets away, as does Alfonso.
Sandra returns to her apartment, hears the news about the surrender of a cartel member who had been working with the procurador along with missing drugs. The news also reports money in a foreign bank. Sandra talks with Araceli, tells her about Sapodrillo, how she has to disappear. She asks Araceli to move into her apartment with her: answer the phone, the door, etc. Araceli says it won't work. The doorbell rings. The DEA man looks for Sandra. Araceli says she isn't there, but Sandra lets him in.
Natalia returns home and talks to her mother. Neither has heard from Alfonso. Lourdes doesn't understand why Daniel has made no statement, reminds Natalia that Adolfo was a law partner with her father once. Octavio arrives, tells Natalia he warned her, but he assures them both that everything will be cleared up. Natalia looks for something, finds a picture. Lourdes tells Octavio that Daniel called, all is well, just rumors. But one thing worries her; Daniel asked for Alfonso. Just then, to Octavio's disgust, Alfonso enters the apartment
In the plane back to Mexico, Daniel assures Adolfo they will have to be very smart to pull off this frame. But Adolfo tells him not to play the innocent. Sapodrillo tells Castillo he killed Sandra, had no choice. He assures Castillo her body will never be found.
In the bar, the man who abused Tony arrives. Memo and Hugo hold Tony back.
El Capitan reports to El General, says that Adolfo has proof that he has been working with Daniel. El General tells Daniel his obligation is to initiate an investigation. Nobody is above the law.

11/13/02 - El General tells Solórzano he is sure he is innocent but everything must be checked, nobody is above the law. Adolfo insists that the cocaine was in lieu of a cash payment to Daniel. El General tells Daniel he will try to keep the investigation low-key, that for the time being he will appear to retain his position. Daniel is furious but can do nothing.
Alfonso arrives at Natalia's home and tells her he must talk to her alone. He tells her most of what happened in Tijuana, except for the cliff scene. She shows him a photo she found: it is of Daniel, Adolfo and a known narco. [I think]. He is certain it was faked. She asks to see him later.
Octavio makes a call. After he returns to his home, he swears to himself that the war isn't over, doesn't understand what Natalia sees in Alfonso.
That night, Natalia and Alfonso make love and he swears that her father will never go to prison. While she sleeps, Alma arrives. Alfonso shows her a file, asks her to review it. She tells him it is suicide. He tells her he can't trust anybody else with this, has no choice, made a promise. She asks if it is for "her" and Alfonso says yes.
The DEA man, Feliciano, tells Sandra she can't keep running. Castillo has all the time in the world to find her, and he will. She tells him she's done all she can. He questions her about her time with Castillo, wants every detail, makes her repeat the story. She assures him that she knows what Castillo looks like, has seen him.
Alfonso stops at a photo shop and picks up something. Later, a man gets into his car, stealthily, and gives him something.
In the bar, Tony follows the man who abused him into the bathroom. The man doesn't recognize him. Tony beats him up a bit, but the man gets away and Memo holds Tony back. Later, Tamara and Memo talk. She says it's hard to believe a man like Solórzano could be so easily caught if he is guilty; Memo just assumes anybody can be bought. What's left of the team in the bar wonders what they should do, wonder where Alfonso is. One suggests that Hugo take over. Another that they wait.
Sandra goes to Alma, tells her she has to talk with Alfonso.
El General, Octavio, Castillo and Johnson meet. They are sure the proof against Solórzano will hold. Johnson tells Castillo the rumor is that a DEA man has been sent to find out if he is alive. Castillo says the best way to find a dead man is to send a dead man. Octavio insists that Alfonso be killed.
Natalia arrives home to find her father being interrogated by El Capitan. Daniel has just recognized a signature on a document as his (some purchase agreement with Adolfo) but denies that he signed the document. Natalia insists on staying as her father's doctor and El Capitan must agree.
Feliciano steps out on the street. Alfonso drives by, puts down the window, says he heard that he is looking for him. He is Alfonso Carbajal.

11/14/02 - Alma tells Sandra she doesn't know anything more: Solórzano is being investiaged, Alfonso is missing, reminds her she has resigned and it is better that she know nothing.
El Capitan continues to question Solórzano who, of course, denies everything. El Capitan asks him to prove his innocence. Natalia interferes.
Alfonso and Feliciano talk. Alfonso tells him he is sure that Solórzano is innocent, that this is the only way. Feliciano promises he will try but can't promise it will work.
Johnson takes Feliciano to El General, tells him this is the agent who thinks that Castillo is alive. Feliciano says that is only one line of investigation, also wants to know what happened in Tijuana.Feliciano talks to Adolfo. El General tells Johnson he isn't worried but must be alert. As Johnson leaves, Alma Gonzalez arrives, tells El General she has something very sensitive to discuss with him. She acts very apprehensive, says everything against Solórzano is a frame, she knows who is really guilty, discovered his strategy and has the proof. He appears a bit worried until he hears that it is Alfonso. At that moment, Alfonso is dressing in a suit, recalls his promise to Natalia. Alma gives him the proof. El General tells her he must study the materials. He tells her he thought she and Alfonso were friends; she says they were, now she feels betrayed. Castillo and Octavio are celebrating when El General calls. El Capitan gets a call, apologizes to Daniel, says another line of investigation has opened up. Feliciano thanks El General for his help, tells him that Adolfo has confessed that he was paid to testify against Solórzano.
Sapodrillo goes to Sandra's apartment and forces Araceli to let him in. Sapodrillo tells her she is too alive to be dead. She asks him his name. He tells her they call him Sapodrillo, and don't ask why. He tells her to leave the city, he can't afford her to be found alive. She accuses him of being involved in the frame of Solórzano, asks where Carbajal is. He asks where she got the information; she says from the radio. He tells Sandra that Alfonso's group is sentenciados, tells her again that she is dead, must be dead. After Sapodrillo leaves, Araceli demands to know what is going on, has done everything she could to help Sandra but she has to know what is going on, thinks Sandra is just using her.
In the bar, Alma tells the team she doesn't know anything but they should disappear for a while. Then she admits that Alfonso was involved, that's why he disappeared from Tijuana. Then she leaves. El General Jimenez calls her. Hugo says he doesn't believe it. Memo says he can believe anything. Then Memo says he believes in Alfonso and Hugo says the reverse. Then Hugo goes to Daniel's office and talks with Barbara. She tells him that Daniel wants to see him in his house.
Johnson asks Castillo and Octavio is they believe that Carbajal works for the arianos. Castillo doesn't believe it. Johnson tells them that Alma denounced him. Castillo demands information from Johnson. Castillo tells Octavio he found Adolfo and negotiated with him; Octavio says it was Jimenez who put on the pressure. Then Jimenez arrives and says that Adolfo Cardono has disappeared, has been put into the DEA witness protection plan. Johnson says he wasn't told.
Natalia arrives at Alfonso's apartment just before he is arrested. He acts surprised, tells Natalia he did nothing against her father. El Capitan tells Natalia there is proof. He kisses her goodbye.
When Natalia arrives home, her father has an attack of some kind. His doctor arrives and increases the medication. Natalia tells Daniel that Alfonso was arrested. She begs him to help her see him.
Octavio orders Gisela to take Hugo Barreto to paradise if necessary to find out what is going on. He will work on Sandra. Johnson tells him he can't: she is dead. Octavio leaves and tells Johnson to give her her instructions.
El Capitan and El General interrogate Alfonso, tell him that one of his own team denounced him, that the DEA has proof, plays a tape of him and Cardono arranging the frame. Alfonso says it is a frame. El General asks him if he did it to save Solórzano. Alfonso says he isn't a martyr, that Solórzano is innocent and so is her. Then the door opens and Alma appears. Alfonso acts surprised.

11/15/02 - Alma shows Alfonso and El Capitan the proof. Alfonso still acts as if he didn't know what were happening. Alfonso and Alma play their roles really well. Feliciano chips in, says he has information going back two years; if he cooperates, the DEA will help. Alfonso asks for guarantees. El General says "he is crazy" and Feliciano wonders why.
El Capitan tells Daniel he is free of all suspicion, that Alfonso confessed. Daniel doesn't believe it. El Capitan says the questioning was just part of his job.
El General tells Castillo that there is proof of everything. Castillo insists it can't be. Johnson says at least they got rid of Carbajal; but Castillo isn't satisfied, says they have to find out who is behind it all. Johnson tells them that Octavio has another plan, to get one of Alfonso's men to switch sides.
Octavio searches somewhere (Alfonso's apartment?) at night, with a gun, sees Sandra. She searches the same place, takes an envelope. Natalia visits Alfonso in jail. He tells her that working with her father was just a trick. A guard tells Hugo and Natalia that Alfonso confessed. He admits it, says he had no choice, the country doesn't need heroes, just money. She says it was all a lie? He tries to say something, but she stops him. Hugo asks him how he could have betrayed them all, he accepted him although he should have been the head of the team.
In the bar, Hugo tells them all, that Alfonso confessed he worked for the a cartel, learns Massima was there looking for him.
Daniel visits Alfonso who addresses him as Professor, asks him how he could have done such a thing. El General joins Daniel, reminds him that this was his "hombre de confianza", says he would have been in jail if they hadn't trapped Alfonso. Alfonso says "por dinero".
Sandra apologizes to Araceli. The letter Sandra took is the one she wrote to Alfonso; he hadn't even read it. Araceli asks Sandra how she can help her die. The next day Sandra gets a wreath with her name on it, and a card with a place and time. El Capitan calls and Araceli answers, says that she just moved in.
Gisella visits Octavio, says she finally tracked down a place where Hugo should have been but wasn't. She tells him she can't do this. He tells her she is getting the money she wanted. She says all she wants is him. He tells her to forget him, now that Alfonso is out of the picture, Natalia will be back. Gisela tells him he won't permit him to reconcile with Natalia. She leaves and Octavio laughs.
Natalia cries, tells Elizabeth she can't believe it but he confessed. Hugo, Memo and Tony visit Alma and tell her they want to know everything. Alma tells them that she denounced him, found the proof. Then the phone rings and she leaves.
Daniel talks to Alfonso again, asks why, why, why. Octavio visits Natalia with a rose. "Aqui estoy".

USA, 11/18-22/02.
USA, 11/18/02. Octavio tells Natalia he just wants to be her friend.
Daniel asks Alfonso why, he answers "money". Then Daniel asks if romancing Natalia was part of the plan. Alfonso says it is useless to answer, he wouldn't believe a "no". Daniel tells him how betrayed he feels, says he's turned out just like his father.
Castillo tells El General things are going better than ever, Solórzano himself will propose Octavio for a job in the
Feliciano visits Alfonso in jail and asks if he is sure he wants to continue. Alfonso says yes. Later, Luis Mario Gomez, Alfonso's brother, tries to see him but Alfonso refuses the visit.
El Capitan tells the rest of Alfonso's group they will continue to work for CenCom, not sure for whom. One asks if they have the right to resign. Didn't Sandra resign? El General joins the group, says he has information that she is dead or, at least, has disappeared; he says the information came from sources. He orders El Capitan to question the team about Sandra's activities to see if there is anything more they can learn.
Johnson tries to get information from Feliciano, asks when he first suspected Alfonso, etc. Feliciano tells him it is a secret investigation. Later, Feliciano gives El General a file and asks him to read it.
Natalia finds it hard to concentrate, even in surgery. Afterwards, she tells Porfirio that it was all a lie, Alfonso's love for her, his support for her father, everything.
Sandra goes to the address that was with the wreath and finds Octavio there, ends up telling him the whole story (after he gives some kind of explanation for knowing that she was supposed to be dead): the heroine, the addiction, the six months in the clinic, why she wasn't killed. He asks her to think of him as a friend. She tells him he has to keep the information secret and he, of course, says he will.
When Alfonso is being transferred to the prison, reporters (including Luis Mario) surround him and question him. He says "no comment", but then sees Castillo waving to him from a car and, sotto voce, tells LM to film the car, keep the tape safe and watch out for himself. Feliciano visits Alfonso, gives him a file, tells him he has one last chance to pull out but Alfonso wants to go on with it. Then, in English and in a whisper, he tells Felician "he's alive", that he saw him, now believes that Sandra did, indeed, see him. Feliciano tells him the word is that she is dead or, at least, has disappeared.
Solórzano suggests to El General that Octavio be the new fiscal; he's known him for years, he knows about money laundering, isn't a politico. El General pretends to have doubts, says he knows very little about him. Solórzano realizes that he thought he knew Alfonso, too, but then El General agrees.
Octavio celebrates with Castillo his future position as fiscal in charge of money laundering. Then he sees Sapodrillo and makes a cryptic comment about the death of Sandra, asks who killed her. Sapo admits he did.
When Daniel gets home, he tells Lourdes and Natalia that Alfonso admitted he did it for money. Natalia asks about her and Daniel says that Alfonso didn't answer directly but he is sure she was part of his plan.
Later, Daniel offers the job to Octavio who acts surprised, unsure if he is qualified. After Daniel leaves his study, Octavio pours out pills from the bottle on the desk.
Natalia goes to the prison to see Alfonso.

11/19/02 - Natalia visits Alfonso in prison but tells him not to come near hear, tells him she doesn't want to listen to him. He tells her all he did was for love, for her. She asks if she was part of his plan. He swears she wasn't. But she doesn't believe him, tells it was all a lie. He reminds her that her father was framed, he had to do something. She doesn't believe him, tells him she feels asco for him. Alfonso tells her again he did it all for her father, for her, tells her he loves her. She refuses to believe him, leaves.
Daniel returns after Octavio has taken most of the pills. Octavio still acts hesitant, being in a new job in charge of money laundering, a great challenge. He would insist that it be a strictly professional relationship. Daniel doesn't notice the missing pills.
Tamara and the others tease Hugo about Massima. Alma tells the group that Sandra isn't dead. She saw her. Alma tells them all that it was a plan by Alfonso, that he is getting help from the DEA in the U.S.
José Angel goes to Sandra's apartment and Araceli tells him that Sandra left, doesn't know if she is dead. Sandra listens as he tells Araceli how much he loved her. He leaves. Araceli tells Sandra she doesn't understand: for some people she is dead, for others missing, for others on vacation. Sandra says she can't just disappear and can't return Jose Angel's love. She gets a blonde wig and is still found by Memo and Tony. She takes them back to her apartment. They offer her their help, tell her that Alma is seeing Alfonso, that the rest will return to CenCom but do their own investigating, up to and including El General. They ask her if anybody else knows she is alive (other than them, Araceli and the killer)..
Octavio puts pills into a bottle, says that Solórzano will die, a natural death, and Natalia will be his. Gisela arrives.
Alfonso hears the news about Octavio's appointment. Octavio tells Natalia he accepted the job because it will be a challenge and a way to help her father. The doorbell rings; Luis Mario appears, gives her a tape and leaves. Natalia plays the tape, hears Alfonso telling Luis Mario to tape the car and save it. Octavio asks her who the man is, who does Alfonso think he is, that he can control things from jail. Octavio tells her they're narcos, maybe that man (whoever he is) just came to threaten him. Octavio tells her that Alfonso is a criminal, has a long history against him. Natalia says she doesn't want to talke about it. He asks her what she is going to do with the tape. He takes it, she asks him why he wants it if he doesn't think the man is Castillo.
Alma and Feliciano visit Alfonso in jail. Alma tells him she had to tell them the truth, they've agreed that he can't go on with this. Feliciano tells Alma there is no going back. Alma reminds him there is no surety that the truth will come to light. Can he really trust the DEA? Alma tells Alfonso that Hugo is the only one who doesn't know; he's changed and they don't trust him. .
Castillo tells El General he wants to know how Alfonso did it, who his contacts are in Tijuana. El General assures Castillo that Octavio will take care of Solórzano.
El General calls Daniel, suggests that he name Hugo as head of the group. Daniel says it is premature. When Octavio goes to Daniel's office, Daniel admits he has doubts. Octavio tells he is not the only one who has doubts. Daniel says he can't help but wonder if it hasn't all been arranged by somebody in CenCom. Daniel tells Octavio that he distrusts everybody, including El General, tells Octavio that Alfonso had assured him that Armando Castillo is alive. Barbara calls Daniel out of the office which, of course, gives Octavio the chance to switch the bottle of pills. Daniel leaves, doesn't say where he is going. Octavio reminds him to take his pills.
Massima and Hugo talk about Alfonso. He tells her he feels betrayed, is hard to believe, he was a good policeman. She tells him that if that is what he feels, all that matters is who pays better.
Daniel asks Alma what is really going on with Alfonso.

11/20/02 - Daniel begins to doubt Alfonso's guilt, asks Alma for the truth, tells her he thinks all the evidence was fabricated in order to save him. She insists she found the proof and he confessed (i.e., she told the team the truth but hides it from Daniel). He tells her as she leaves that he will discover the truth. She says ojala.
Hugo visits Alfonso in prison and asks him why he did it, how many millions of dollars he got. Then he calls him un digno hijo del Aguila Seal and leaves.
In the clinic, Natalia tells Porfilio she feels she can't trust anybody since she herself chose the wrong man. Later, in the apartment she shares with Elizabeth, she cries, wonders how to cure a wound of the heart, tells Elizabeth that Alfonso is dead to her. Later, however, she says she can't believe it or doesn't want to, but even her father is convinced of his guilt.
Daniel goes to the bar, takes some of Octavio's pills, talks to Memo, tells him of his doubts. Memo tells him he knows how things work in this country, that sometimes silence is the only thing that works [or something like that].
Castillo and Johnson meet with a Russian? about a newspaper article re the exchange of drugs for arms. Castillo tells them it is their problem not his.
Octavio visits Alfonso in prison and gloats, asks him to imagine him and Natalia in an expensive suite, in bed, her lips, breasts, etc. Octavio looks like a gloating vampire. As he leaves, he tells Alfonso this is his world from now on.
El General names Hugo the head of the group, says it will be on trial and will report to El Capitan. Hugo then gives a "speech" which Memo immediately cuts short. Then Hugo gets a call from Massima and smiles.
El Capitan visits Alfonso, asks why, tells him he may be responsible for Sandra's death. All Alfonso will say is that not everything is black and white, one day he will understand.
Daniel goes to Alfonso's apartment, sits down, searches, finds a picture of Alfonso and Natalia, then a piece of paper hidden under a deskmat that appears to be a map. He calls Barbara and asks her to check on something. She calls him back with the date of a deposit, hasn't gotten the other information yet. He tells her to get it the next day. I think one of the tasks involves the records of a photographer (Alfonso went to one). He takes more of Octavio's pills.
Back in his office, Daniel tells Octavio he thinks they are all wrong about Alfonso, is almost certain that Alfonso engineered everything to save him, shows him an envelope he must take directly to the President. Barbara enters the office after Octavio leaves and Daniel tells her to take the envelope directly to the President. She goes back to her desk, puts it down as she takes a call and turns her back on Octavio, he tries to cover the envelope, but when she turns around, she picks it up.
Natalia enters his office, tells him they have to talk about Alfonso. Daniel tells her when he is certain, she will know what he knows. Then he has another attack.

11/21/02 - El Capitan continues to talk to Alfonso, accuses him of hypocrisy. Alfonso doesn't respond.
Castillo tells Johnson that in the U.S., Alfonso will hurt the Tijuana cartel
Daniel feels better and insists on going to see Alfonso, tells Barbara to call the Director and stop the extradition. As Daniel leaves the office, Octavio hands him his pills.
Sandra and Tony prepare some kind of undercover operation.
In the prison, Daniel indicates to Alfonso by his eyes the camera recording everything. In a normal and/or angry voice he tells him he will be subject to gringo law, talks about how he trusted him, picked him, vents his indignation, etc. But twice he gets Alfonso away from the camera's viewing angle and whispers enough to make Alfonso aware that Daniel knows the truth.
Octavio visits Castillo in a bull ring, tells him he's been put in charge of the money laundering investigations, tells him that Daniel has doubts about Alfonso's guilt, thinks he fabricated everything to protect him, has written a letter to the President which must be stopped.
While Daniel is talking to Alfonso, El Capitan sits down next to Natalia, talks to her about loyalty, love, wonders if one can believe in them.
Daniel has another attack. Alfonso calls for help. Natalia comes to the cell. El Capitan takes Alfonso away, doesn't believe his concern for Daniel's health. Natalia begs her father to hold on.
Hugo takes flowers to Massima, she won't let him kiss her in the gallery.
Sandra and Tony, masked, help Alfonso escape. Alfonso is angry with Tony, says everybody will think the cartel sprang him. Tony says they had to do it, all arranged it, tells Alfonso he has to hide out, takes him to an apartment (Sandra's I think). Then Sandra arrives. He is surprised to see her, angry at her participation, grateful all at the same time.
Johnson, Octavio and Castillo are celebrating when El General calls to tell them of the escape. When Hugo returns to CenCom, El General tells him what happened. Hugo's first words are "el grupo", but El General says he saw them all earlier in CenCom and the rescue was a professional operation, assigns Hugo and his group to find Alfonso.
Octavio joins Lourdes and Elizabeth at the clinic. Inside, Daniel dies.

11/22/02 - Daniel dies. Octavio comforts Lourdes and Natalia. El Capitan notifies El General; Hugo hears the news. Later, Hugo listens as El General blames El Capitan for the escape of Alfonso, asks if there are any clues. El Capitan says none, except that one was a woman. The news spreads by TV, paper, etc. Alfonso tells Sandra it doesn't make sense; his illness was under control. He tells her that Daniel knew the truth, that he was going to tell the President, that they had to pretend to fight in the jail, that his sacrifice was in vain
Castillo orders Sapodrillo to find and kill Alfonso. Then they hear the news re Solórzano and laugh.
Hugo goes to Daniel's office, tells Barbara they must continue the work he started. She tells him about the letter. El General tells Octavio on the phone that the tape is ready, has been appropriately edited.
The group, minus Hugo, goes to Sandra's apartment, tells her they will be suspected. She tells them that Solórzano guessed at the last that Alfonso had framed himself. Tony says it was a useless gesture. Alma can't believe how reckless Sandra has been [neither can I.]
At the funeral, Gisela tells Octavio it was convenient for him to have been named to his post right before Daniel's death. Octavio sees Barbara there, seems to remember something, tells the General he'll take care of the letter. Sapodrillo dressed as a delivery person brings a wreath of flowers. Octavio asks Gisela to do him a favor.
When Natalia gets home, she finds a cassette in her purse, puts it in the VCR and sees the edited tape, where Alfonso is shaking Daniel. Octavio arrives at Daniel's office to find Alfonso there.

11/25-29/02.
11/25/02 - Octavio taunts Alfonso, draws a gun. Alfonso dares him to shoot, puts the gun against his head. Then Alfonso overcomes Octavio and beats him savagely. Natalia watches the video, tells Elizabeth that Alfonso killed her father. At the funeral, Barbara goes to the bathroom, leaves her purse by the sink; Gisela enters and takes the envelope. On her way home, Barbara is attacked and beaten by two men (to get the envelope or provide cover for Gisela?). At the funeral, Hugo sees Gisela putting an envelope in her purse. He stops her on her way out; she says she is a slight friend of Natalia's then leaves. El Capitan thinks of Sandra, then of the woman who rescued Alfonso, realizes the eyes were Sandra's. Alfonso tells Alma about his confrontation with Octavio, finds his presence and actions there suspicious, is depressed because all he did to save Daniel's reputation was in vain. Gisela treats Octavio's injuries, tells him there was no envelope in Barbara's purse. At the funeral, Octavio tells Natalia he found Alfonso stealing papers from Daniel's office, was beaten while trying to stop him. She goes outside and Alfonso grabs her, puts his hand over her mouth, drags her away when somebody calls her name. He tells her he framed himself and her father knew, promises to remove his hands from her mouth if she won't scream. He does but she screams (was very frightened and didn't believe him) and he barely escapes. Sandra drives him back home, says he acted stupidly. Castillo tells Sapodrillo to offer $300,000 for the capture of Alfonso alive, wants information about the cartel. At the cemetery, Natalia tells her mother that Alfonso betrayed them all, caused her father's death, says she will never forgive him.

11/26/02 - When El Capitan suggests to Hugo that his team was involved in Alfonso's escape, Hugo defends them. Alfonso meets with them in the bar. He asks Sandra to get close to Octavio. She says if he were working with Castillo he would have told him that she is alive but Alfonso isn't sure. They decide (why isn't clear) to focus on El General, El Capitan and Johnson. Elizabeth tells Porfirio that Natalia is going to live with her mother for a while, asks him to move in with her. He agrees. Back at CenCom, Hugo asks his team how they rescued Alfonso, says it couldn't have been criminal because nobody was hurt. The team denies any involvement. Then El General orders them to find Alfonso. Natalia visits Barbara in the hospital. She tells Natalia about the letter, thinks it had to do with Alfonso and that is why she was attacked, says that only Hugo and Octavio knew about it. Gisela reads the letter, puts it in a locked box and hides the box, thinks to herself that now she has something on Octavio. Alfonso goes to a bar where Sapodrillo is playing dominoes and joins the game; draws a gun on Sapo before leaving, tells him to give his boss a message [I think]. Sandra goes to Octavio and asks for his help, says only he knows of her double life, she needs work, identity card, etc. Octavio has doubts because of her connection to Alfonso but seems willing to help her. Alfonso, dressed as a doctor, goes into Barbara's room but Lourdes arrives and he has to leave. In her house, Natalia starts to play the tape that LM gave her showing Castillo. Octavio appears [as usual], tells her to stop worrying about it and destroys the tape.

11/27/02 - Natalia allows Octavio to completely destroy the tape. Octavio tells her that Alfonso killed her father, he won't let him destroy her, too. He tells her the letter is important. She tells him Barbara had it, was attacked and it was stolen. He implies it was Alfonso.
Sapodrillo gives Castillo the message: Alfonso knows who he is, knows he's alive, will prove it.
Hugo gives a present to Gisela who asks if it is Cartier, Dior? He says "something like that". She suggests it would be even prettier with a diamond "just there". He agrees.
El Capitan goes to Octavio's office, sees the back of a blonde-haired woman, learns her name if Rosario, leaves.
Alfonso calls LM, tells him about the letter, learns that LM gave the only video to Natalia.
Elizabeth and Porfirio make plans; she doesn't care that they're not married.
Tamara tells Memo she is always waiting for him, always worrying.
Gisela finds Octavio in her office, looking through everything, demands to know where the letter is. She reminds him he told her the letter was stolen. He is sure she has it, tells her not to play with him. She tells him not to try to hurt her. He realizes her meaning, says she learns quickly, asks her what she wants for the letter. She tells him she wants him, his love, his care. After they have sex, she tells him this time was different, he was tender, said he loved her. As she leaves, he tells her she forgot something. She gives him his payment, the letter. But when he opens the envelope, it contains a blank sheet of paper.
Sapodrillo stops Sandra on the street, tells her to get into the car, accuses her of telling Alfonso where to find him. She says she didn't tell him, is looking for work, building a new life. He tells her they had a deal but she is putting both their lives in jeopardy. He asks her why she doesn't disappear.
Natalia finds Alfonso, with a gun, in her office. He asks for the video. She tells him she was angry, destroyed him, accuses him of wanting to kill her like he killed her father. She tells him he betrayed her father, killed him, goes for the phone. He draws his gun; she asks if he is going to kill her. He tells her of course not. She agrees to meet him the next morning at the same place where he returned her to her father. Later, she tells Octavio that Alfonso wanted the video. Later, she. and Octavio tell El General where they will be able to find Alfonso.
Memo tells the group they have to regain Hugo's confidence, make him believe they trust him, are working for him. Hugo arrives. Alma assures him they support him, they're still a team.
Johnson and El General are worried about some news in the papers; Castillo isn't.
Alfonso tells Alma of the meeting, says he trusts her. Sapo enters Sandra's apartment with his key, goes to the bathroom, shoots a woman wearing a blond wig in the back.

11/28/02. Sandra finds Araceli dead. Alfonso, Tony and Memo clean up things. Alfonso takes the shocked Sandra, who feels guilty [and well she should], to his place to stay.
Natalia sets up the trap to capture Alfonso with El General and Octavio. El Capitan tells Hugo about the operation but says his team won't be told until just a few minutes before. Alma warns Alfonso not to go; he says he trusts Natalia. Octavio suggests to El General that there be snipers and El General tells Johnson a dead Carbajal is better than a captured one.
Araceli's mother joins Sandra in the funeral home, doesn't know who would want to kill her daughter.
Natalia tells her mother she won't have to worry about Alfonso threatening the family anymore but won't say why she is so sure.
Castillo orders Sapodrillo to kill ?, the only family (including two children) of Cardono? who remain in the country after he entered the witness protection plan. Sapodrillo is obviously shocked at the order to kill two small children.
Hugo gathers his team and tells them they are going to capture Alfonso. Alma takes up a position with Memo and tells him she warned Alfonso. Natalia arrives with a fake video tape and Octavio. She waits, walks around the site, finally decides Alfonso won't appear. She calls Octavio and the operation begins to shut down. She and Octavio get into a car; Alfonso pops up from the back seat with a gun in his hand and orders Octavio to drive, which he does.

11/29/02 - Hugo's team asks him why he didn't trust them. El General asks El Capitan who tipped off Alfonso. El Capitan tells him that he warned Hugo the night before, thinks they just under-estimated Carbajal. Alfonso has Octavio drive a while, then tells him to get out and starts driving with Natalia next to him. He tells her all he wanted was the tape. She accuses him of killing her father. He gets out of the car, guesses that the video is a fake. He tells her she is naive, says that Octavio is just like him. She tells him she just wants him to pay for what he did. He tells her she will never see him again. Hugo visits Massima, says he came because he'd had an awful day, wanted to see her but he heard her say her real name on the phone, Gisela, asks why she lied to him. She comes up with an explanation that he accepts. The team (Sandra with short hair) meets up with Alfonso who explains how he guessed it was a trap. He tells them he can't continue to put them at risk, is best that they "capture" him and turn him in. They refuse. Natalia returns home. Octavio visits, says he's sorry she was involved, should stay out of it. She tells him that Alfonso said the same thing in the same words, said he was like him. Octavio asks if she believes that. She says claro, que no. Then he invites her to his apartment, to relax, etc., as he touches her arm. El General, Octavio and Castillo talk about Carbajal's escape. El General wants to interrogate Natalia; Octavio objects. He tells them that Alfonso told her he was identical to him, fears that Carbajal suspects him. Gisela goes to Octavio's apartment, replies to his question that she has no letter. He pushes her out of his apartment. Alfonso delivers a warning to Sapodrillo. Natalia goes to Octavio's apartment for a candlelight dinner. He puts on music that has a special meaning for them, tells her he misses her, starts to caress her. She asks him what he is doing.

USA, 12/2-6/02. 12/2/02 - Natalia tells Octavio to stay away from her, she tells him nobody is asking what she wants. He tells her he loves her. She says she doesn't want to be treated like an invalid, doesn't want anybody to worry about her, to decide for her. He apologizes. She tells him she doesn't want his attention, she'll go on without his help. They sit down again to eat, then Natalia gets up to go. Octavio asks her to stay. She tells him with all that has happened, the death of her father, the betrayal of Alfonso, nobody can explain, it is a problem she must work out.
Sapodrillo follows Alfonso, points a gun at him. Alfonso tells him he is worth more alive than dead to his patron. Tamara tells Alma she doesn't want to be a mother again, doesn't think it will make Memo happy either. Alma doesn't understand because she wants a child.
El General reprimands El Capitan for not questioning Natalia. El Capitan says he doesn't think it necessary, he was there, too, and because of her father, thinks it better not to. El General tells him he wants her testimony now, no matter how late it is.
Castillo wakes up from a nightmare, yells at the woman with him.
Alfonso meets with the team, tells them he gave Sapodrillo a message for Castillo. Sandra says she is sure that he killed Araceli. Alfonso says they must search CenCom for information on Castillo, the more problems they can create, the better for them. Alfonso talks to Sandra before she leaves about Castillo, asks her if she thinks his plan will work. Sandra says his plans are good, but she is worried because he is doing it for only one reason: Natalia. He denies it. She tells him she doesn't like to see him suffer.
Gisela arrives at Octavio's apartment, in response to his call, finds Natalia's food uneaten. She understands the reason, taunts him with wanting what she didn't give him. Gisela tells him not now, not here. Octavio is about to join Gisela in a bubble bath when the doorbell rings, his champagne...and Alfonso, with a gun. He forces Octavio onto his knees, doesn't seem to realize there could be somebody else there. Gisela gets out of the bathroom, sees him from behind, looks for a gun. Alfonso taunta Octavio, says that's all he wants as he holds a gun to the back of Octavio's neck..Alfonso asks him what he knows of the narcos. Octavio tells Alfonso he can help him, be useful, has many connections, begs him not to kill him.Alfonso shoots at one of the bottles. Octavio cowers. Alfonso sits down. Gisela watches from the next room. Alfonso says he's right, can be useful, tells him that Armando Castillo is alive, that the Tijuana cartel knows he has contacts in CenCom. Alfonso tells him they will do business and leaves. Gisela enters the room with the gun in her hand; when asked why she didn't show, she tells him she enjoyed it, would like him to plead with her. When Octavio takes the gun and grabs her, she tells him he can't kill her if he wants the letter, which she has and will give him tomorrow, if he wants to regain his manhood.
Natalia explains to her mother why El Capitan delivered una demanda, why El General called her mother, says all she wants is Alfonso in jail for killing her father. Lourdes is worried about her, asks her to give it up.
Memo, Tony and Gabriel? Take advantage of the lack of people in CenCom to search, but El General finds Memo in his office. El General accuses Memo of still working for Alfonso. Memo tells El General that his file doesn't contain the picture of his son who died at the hands of the Tijuana cartel, the same cartel that Alfonso used to get him to work for him, the same cartel for which he works. Memo tells El General he wants a pact, the next time he arranges a trap for Alfonso, he wants to be there with just one bullet.
Sapodrillo takes the message to Castillo that he be careful, that he shouldn't trust those close to him.
Natalia goes to her office, finds Sandra there. Sandra tells her they killed Araceli thinking it was she, says it was the men of Castillo and CenCom. Sandra says she is there because they have something in common, Alfonso Carbajal. Then El Capitan arrives at the clinic to talk with Natalia. Natalia talks to him outside the room. Natalia tells El Capitan that she has a private life, isn't obligated to do his job for him, has her own work, agrees to see him later.When she returns to her office, Sandra is gone, has left a note.
El General tells Natalia she was in a car alone with Alfonso for a while, then he let her go. Isn't that strange? Natalia says she doesn't like his tone of voice, reminds him that she risked her life for the operation, finds it strange that nobody followed her, that Alfonso escaped. She tells him the only person interested in capturing Alfonso is she. El General reminds her that she and Alfonso were close. Natalia reminds him that she was also working for CenCom, believes the interrogation is over.
Octavio tells Castillo that Alfonso knows he is alive, wants to negotiate with him. Castillo asks Octavio why he didn't do anything. Octavio says Alfonso evaded security and came with a gun.
Memo tells Tamara about El General, said he had to invent a story to prove he had accounts to settle with Alfonso, used the name of his son. Memo kisses Tamara's stomacfh, asks why not try again.
Alfonso tells Sandra that if Octavio has connects on the other side, Castillo will get the message. She tells him that Castillo isn't a fool, tells him to leave while she stays because Natalia is coming to see her.

12/3/02 - Sandra tells Alfonso she is meeting Natalia for his sake. His life will be in danger if she keeps seeking him. Alfonso tells Sandra to tell Natalia to stay away, from him, from Octavio. Alfonso hears Natalia tell Sandra she wants to find him to make him pay. Sandra tells Natalia that she was his lover while he was with her. Sandra tells her that he used them both, he could be in Guatemala or some other place. Natalia suggests they join forces against him. Sandra agrees to work with her but asks her not to mention her name to anybody, says she will contact her later. After Natalia leaves, Alfonso re-appears to Sandra's surprise. He admits he wanted to see her. Sandra says she warned him it would be difficult. He tells her she didn't have to say they were lovers, but he thanks her for Natalia's sake.
In CenCom, Gerardo, the computer guy looks at something in relation to planes?. A bit later, Gerardo tells Alma he is tracking down the owners of something, is finding something interesting which will be ready when she returns. It appears from camera angles that he may be under some kind of wathc. Then he pulls up the name & picture of Octavio Montiel. And is shot in the back of the head by a gloved hand holding a gun with a silencer. It is El General, who of course, just happened to be watching and ready. He destroys the file and takes the diskette. Alma finds Gerardo's body and El General finds her with him.
Gisela gives Octavio the letter, just the first page. She has the remaining 9 pages. She tells him she won't give him the rest, her only assurance she will stay alive; the first page is just proof she has it. Gisela tells him the rest of the letter is more interesting, mentions Octavio, was beginning to suspect him. Octavio asks somebody if he can forge the handwriting of Solarzano. Octavio dictates a letter from Solarzano to the President. Then Octavio has the forger killed.
Tony, Memo, Hugo read through Daniel's papers trying to find a clue to Daniel's letter. Barbara tells them he apparently wrote the letter in hand. Hugo asks Barbara what she will do. She tells Hugo that El General ordered her to work in CenCom. The new procurador has another office and Octavio is the new special prosecutor.
Maricruz's baby is brought into the clinic; she started taking drugs again.
Alfonso stops Barbara on the street, asks her to believe in him, tells her to distrust everybody including Octavio. He tells her only that she must doubt. Barbara gets a call that somebody was killed in CenCom but not whom.
El General tells the team that only he and Alma were present when Gerardo was there. He demands her gun.
Castillo, Octavio and Johnson talk of negotiating with Carbajal.
Gisela visits Natalia in the clinic, says she was visiting Octavio about a loan for the gallery when Alfonso showed up.

Memo tells El General it couldn't have been Alma. Hugo says nobody suspects either of them. But El General says he is in charge.
Castillo tells Johnson and Octavio they are all replaceable. What matters is the business, the industry. Octavio says he's solved the problem of the letter, shows what will be sent to the President. El General calls Castillo, says he had to dirty his hands to save Montiel. Castillo tells Sapo "two down" - Gerardo and Sandra - but he is worried, sometimes enemies are better friends than friends.
Tony gives Alfonso the news. Sandra comforts him. Later, she tells him that Alma has been accused.
Octavio shows Natalia, her mother and Barbara the letter her father supposedly wrote accusing Alfonso. The letter mentions his illness, praises Octavio and condemns Alfonso as a traitor. Later, Octavio asks Natalia how she knew that Alfonso was in his apartment. She says that Gisela told her. He told her that Alfonso is very violent, appeared in the apartment with a gun, looking for the letter. She asks him why he thought it would be there. Octavio says he doesn't know. Then Natalia gets a call: Maricruz is on the verge of suicide.Natalia races to the top of the building, Octavio with him. Maricruz threatens to jump if she comes any closer.
El General gives a technician a gun that he "found" in the women's bathroom and, I think, asks him to find Alma's fingerprints on the gun. After the technician leaves, El Capitan enters with his opinion: that there are no grounds for suspicion.
Hugo talks to Alma; she accuses him of always being obedient. He asks Alma what Gerardo was investigating. She tells him he has been in charge of the investigations. He tells her he doesn't believe her. She says she doesn't believe him.
Sandra tells Tamara she can't help loving Alfonso. Tamara tells her no man is worth such sacrifice, he isn't going to fall in love with her.
Barbara finds Alfonso waiting for her in the office, says he tricked them all, shows him the letter. He reads it and can't believe it.

12/9-10/02 - Alma talks with Tony and Memo: they have to find out who killed Gerardo and why.
Natalia talks to Maricruz, holds out her hand to her, seems to have convinced her not to jump. But as Maricruz stretches out her hand, moves toward Natalia, her foot slips on a brick or something and she falls to her death.
El Capitan tells Alma the gun had her prints on it. He questions her about what Gerardo was doing. She insists she doesn't know.
Alfonso tells Barbara the letter is a forgery, learns that it was Octavio who presented it. Alfonso asks her if he returned anything else that was stolen from her: her purse, id, etc. She says no. He points out that it is odd that the only thing they found was the letter. Barbara doesn't believe him.
Natalia is sedated and put to bed. When Lourdes is called away, he closes the door, goes to the sleeping Natalia, touches her, kisses her. She calls out the name Alfonso. He turns away, returns and kisses her again, gets the same reaction. Then Lourdes comes back and he leaves. Lourdes talks with Natalia about the letter, says she was reviewing it the previous night. After so many years living with Daniel, she knows his manner of expressing herself and the letter doesn't sound like him. Natalia says nothing. The next day, Porfirio brings the baby Maria to Natalia; it cheers her up. He and Elizabeth have talked about the baby's future; there is no relative who can care for it.
Castillo reads the letter out loud to El General and Johnson, thinks it is wonderful.
Hugo visits Gisela. They agree to start from scratch and introduce each other by their correct names.
Alfonso returns to Sandra, tells her he is more and more sure that Octavio is involved, tells her she has to get close to him. Sandra asks how close and Alfonso doesn't say. Sandra agrees, puts on her wig and goes to Octavio's apartment. She tells him he is the only one who knows her "situation", needs his help, can be useful. She tells him she knows he doesn't trust her: she was Alfonso's woman, part of his team. But Alfonso betrayed her, both as a professional and as a woman. She tells him to put her to the test. Octavio tells her he wants Alfonso. She says she doesn't know where he is. Then Gisela arrives.
Hugo calls Gisela, asks to see her. Then he tells Tony he is tired of the team's treatment of him; he is the boss and they must accept it. Hugo tells Gisela he feels bad, had to question a partner, ask things that bothered him (about her sexuality, the suggestion that she killed Gerardo because he made advances - questions suggested by El General), doesn't feel good. Gisela tells him he was doing his duty, etc., etc. and he accepts her understanding and approval.
Alfonso sees Natalia in the park with the baby, then sees Octavio joining them. Octavio tells her how wonderful she looks with the baby, plays with it. Alfonso returns to his hideout, works out with weights to work off his anger.
Lourdes goes to Daniel's office, tells Barbara about her doubts re the letter, asks for her opinion.
Memo tells El Capitan and El General there isn't enough proof against Alma. She owned only one gun and it wasn't the one that killed Gerardo, she wouldn't have stashed a murder weapon in the women's bathroom, she had no reason to kill him, two people saw Alma at the time the murder was being done. Later, El General calls Castillo, tells him he needs a fall guy. El General calls in the technician who faked the fingerprints, tells him he killed Gerardo, will spend some time in jail, then will escape. He and his family will be taken care of. He frees Alma, doesn't apologize. She expresses her anger at being accused because of her sexuality.
Sapo tells one of the drug workers how to test the cocaine; Castillo yells at him that nobody is to test it that way. They'll become addicted and could betray the organization.
Sandra goes to a bar, talks to a man from her past, says [I think] she'd like to return to Castillo.
Octavio takes Natalia to her father's office, tells how he insisted that it be left as it is, as a monument to her father, that he will continue the work her father started. Natalia is touched, tells Octavio she doesn't know what to say.
The team, minus Hugo, visits Alfonso and they celebrate. Octavio, looking through Daniel's papers, is surprised by how much he had discovered. Then Feliciano enters the office.

12/12/02 - Feliciano gives some documents to Octavio, says Mexico has become the leading country in the world in laundering money. Sandra gives Alfonso information about Castillo's labs. Barbara starts to tell El Capitan about her doubts re the letter Daniel wrote when El General joins them to tell the Captain they have a confession to Gerardo's murder. After he leaves, the General asks Barbara about her doubts but we don't see her answer. Tamara tells Alma she doesn't want the child and it is her decision alone. Feliciano comes to the bar and tells Alma he has to talk with Alfonso. Natalia and Porfirio talk about Maria, both are taken with the baby. A bit later, Elizabeth and Porfirio have a similar conversation, about wanting Maria to have loving parents. Then he suggests that they marry and adopt her. Elizabeth is taken aback. He thinks it is because his proposal was so unromantic, but she tells him it is a serious step to take, needs to think about it, is sorry if he is hurt by the lack of a more positive reaction.
Octavio tells Johnson, Castillo and El General that Feliciano knows too much.
Barbara meets with Feliciano, tells him she suspects this has all been a plan, that Alfonso sacrificed himself for Daniel, explains her reasons. He decides to trust her, tells her she is right, asks if she is willing to help. She says yes.
Natalia meets Sandra again, wants to know what she wants, guesses that Alfonso is listening (he is), tells him to come out (he doesn't). Sandra talks about her love for Alfonso, says that Natalia still loves him. Natalia says she doesn't love him, just wants him to pay. Later she goes into Octavio's arms, begs him to help her forget. Barbara visits her padrino, General Vicente, tells her Daniel said she could rely on him if they needed help and they do. He tells her he needs more proof, has to talk with Alfonso. Barbara tells him she will try, but Alfonso came to her not the reverse and she doesn't know if she can reach him.

12/13/02 - Natalia draws back from Octavio. He says from Carbajal? He promises to help her forget. That night she recalls Sandra's words, that hatred is a manner of remembering.
The team, under Alfonso's direction, busts up a lab. Meanwhile, El General is still arguing with El Capitan and Hugo about whether they have sufficent information to attack the lab. El General finally agrees, tells him not to destroy anything. Then El General calls Castillo to warn him. One of the guys realizes that Tony isn't from CenCom. They destroy the cocaine. When Hugo, Alma and El Capitan arrive, Tony says he thought they were already there. Memo says the water in the cocaine was a good idea. Hugo says they did wrong. Alma asks what the problem is: it's one lab less, right? Sapo drives bad, watches the cleanup operation briefly. Castillo blames El General. He tells Castillo that it isn't that simple, has to avoid suspicion, reminds him that there are always risks, margins.
Barbara talks to Alma about Alfonso. Alma says she doesn't know what she is talking about. Barbara says she must talk to him, is with them. Barbara asks Alma to give him the message. Alma tells her she is mixed up.
Sandra tells Alfonso that she was telling Natalia the truth about her feelings. He says he knows.
Memo discovers that Tamara is pregnant, and that she is not planning to have it. .
Porfirio tells Natalia what he suggested to Elizabeth. Octavio goes to the clinic to offer his help to Natalia: two airline tickets. 3 days. She is reluctant. He tells her it is just a few days, they'll go together. She tells him it isn't that easy.
Alma visits Alfonso with Barbara. Barbara says she knows all, talked with Lourdes about the letter, talked to Feliciano who filled in the details, thought she could be of help. She talked with General Olivares, told him everything she knew. He wants to talk with Alfonso. He and Alma don't trust Olivares. Barbara says he is her Olivares. She says he has to trust somebody, can't work alone.
Tamara tells Sandra Memo's reaction. Sandra says Memo has a right to a voice, tells her to focus on the joy she feels, not just the worry.
Elizabeth tells Porfirio he isn't proposing marriage but a deal. When he says she doesn't like Maria, she says that's the point: he wouldn't have proposed if not for the baby. Why can't they just stay as they are? He says he just wants to help Maria and, one way or the other, he will. She asks if he is giving her a choice, all or nothing? Natalia sees Elizabeth leave; Porfiro won't say what the problem is.
Memo returns to the bar, apologizes to Tamara. He says he wasn't responsible for what happened to his son. She tells him she won't have a child while he is a cop.
El General and Alfonso go to the movies.
Natalia tells Lourdes it didn't seem right to go on vacation with Octavio. She pulls out Natalia's suitcase, tells her to ask what is right for herself, this would do her good. Lourdes tells her that Octavio is a good man, always concerned for her.
Gisela visits Alfonso. He demands again the letter. She gives him page 12. Octavio isn't impressed. Gisela tells him each page will cost, wants to know more, who is his boss? Octavio says he has no boss.
Alfonso tells the group the General's proposition, a clean record for all of them.Tony remembers Gerardo. Memo wonders what he would say.
Somebody visits Natalia, tells her her father was murdered, didn't die of natural causes.

USA, 12/16-20/02.
USA, 12/16/02 - 12/16/02 - Feliciano Pintor gives the group money, tells them they have to buy drugs to prove to Castillo and the rest that Alfonso is really a part of the Tijuana cartel. Feliciano tells them he lost a sister to heroin.
Natalia talks with Bárbara, tells her that Dr. Arnoldo visited her, told her that her father's medication had been changed, that killed him, not his disease. Barbara said it had to be somebody close to them to swap the pills. Natalia says "Alfonso?". Barbara agrees. After she leaves, Natalia finds a tulip above her door.
Memo and Alma ask Alfonso what his plan is as they look at a bag full of money. They don't want to become like the narcos. Alfonso asks what other choice do they have?
Lourdes and Natalia call El General Jimenez Arroyo. He comes to the house, Natalia tells him about the changed medication. Lourdes says there is no doubt, just don't know why. El General explains there was no autopsy because they knew he was dying, doesn't believe he was killed. Lourdes insists that he was taking the wrong medication before he died. El General tells her that only a few people knew of his illness. She says that Natalia thinks it was Alfonso.
Alfonso learns what happened from Alma. Alfonso feels guilty, he was supposed to protect him but didn't even think of that. It had to be somebody close to the family, his doctor?
Alfonso shows Johnso the next page of the letter, says that Gisella has promised to give him one page a month.Octavio tells Johnson they know that Daniel was killed, that his pills were changed. Octavio says there is no proof against him, but they must be prepared.
Barbara tells General Olivares. She wonders if it was Alfonso. The General says the information can't be made public. He realizes that Natalia will tell Octavio, El General and their reactions will be interesting.
Octavio visits Lourdes who insists that the medication was changed; moreover, she doesn't think he wrote the letter. It was his handwriting but not the way he writes. The letter read like a suicide, like somebody who knew he was going to be killed or would die right away.
Natalia visits Sandra again, says that Alfonso killed her father. Sandra says she can't believe it. Natalia says it is clear. He got close to her so he could change the medication. From Alfonso Natalia says she could expect anything. She leaves and Alfonso comes out of his hiding place.
Porfirio tells Lourdes there is no doubt. Lourdes, like Alfonso, feels guilty for not noticing it. Lourdes asks Porfirio not to tell anybody. Elizabeth arrives as he leaves, says it is over between them.
El General tells Castillo, Octavio and Johnson. Octavio says if they suspect Alfonso there is no problem. Octavio complains about the lab that got busted.
Natalia wonders how Alfonso could do it, what his plan was. She goes to CenCom, talks with Hugo about her father. She says it must have been a well-thought-out plan, asks Hugo if he knows anything, asks what he is going to do. Hugo says it is just an hypothesis, they will investigate. Hugo asks her if she thinks it was Alfonso.
Alma tries to calm down Alfonso who seems to be reading the letter or a copy of it. Alfonso asks Alma who could it be if it isn't Octavio. Alma says he has lots of money, why would he do it. Alfonso is sure it is Octavio, doesn't know why, but it is he.
Dr. Arnoldo visits Lourdes. Barbara and General Olivares join them. Olivares tells them nobody must suspect the truth or their will be more deaths. He says Alfonso is just one possibility. He begs discretion from her. He says it is serious; the next victims could be Lourdes, Natalia, Arnoldo.
Sandra visits Octavio, tells him she knows where Alfonso will be. She reminds him they both want revenge. She says he is planning to go to the north. He asks why he should believe her.
Tamara fells that Memo is trying to "blackmail" her into having the baby with his words and touch.
Natalia visits her father's grave, says she doesn't feel she can trust anybody. Alfonso sees her by the grave. She turns her head and sees him.

USA, 12/17/02 - Alfonso tells Natalia he betrayed a lot of people, got involved with narcos, but didn't kill her father. She asks who did. He says he doesn't know and realizes that she doesn't believe him. She tells him as soon as she leaves, she will report seeing him, asks him to leave her in peace. He walks away.
Dr. Arnoldo talks with Lourdes, doesn't know how they will convince Natalia; just then Octavio arrives. Octavio tells them that he thinks only Alfonso could have exchanged the pills. Arnoldo explains that he got a bit ahead of himself, they want Octavio's help in getting Natalia to drop the matter.
Alfonso tells Feliciano and Olivares this is personal, he is going to find out who killed his profe. They agree to go on with the plan. Feliciano tells Alfonso at times he will feel like a prostitute, they will test him. He tells them he will "disappear" for a few months. Feliciano warns him it won't be easy. They wish him luck.
Natalia tells Octavio that Alfonso was in the cemetery. Octavio tells her he is a professional criminal, with men to protect him. Octavio tells Natalia it is difficult to prove the medication was switched, even harder to prove it was Alfonso's doing. Natalia tells Octavio that Alfonso swore the rest was true but he didn't kill her father. Octavio asks her if Alfonso used drugs, suggests she didn't know. Octavio holds her, swears he will always be near her.
Sandra tells Alfonso all is ready for him to disappear, change his life. Alfonso admits to Sandra he doesn't know if he will be able to control himself once he is in front of Castillo. She tells him to remember Gerardo. Sandra asks him if he has thought what will happen with Natalia. Alfonso tells her that from now on, she is the only woman in the world for him, hugs her.
Tamara has a sonagram. She is 7 weeks pregnant. Months pass. She is 5 months pregnant.
Hugo tells El Capitan they have word that Alfonso is in Morelos. El Capitan points out on the map all of the places he has been seen. Barbara gives the group news: Carbajal wants to negotiate, turn himself in.
Natalia has her own small practice now. Octavio invites her to take a vacation with him. He kisses her for the first time in 4 months, smiles. Then Octavio gets a call and leaves. She opens a present on her desk, a tulip.
El General y Castillo celebrate, but El General warns Castillo that Alfonso has risen very high very quickly. Castillo receives a gift, a horse from Alfonso. Alfonso and Sandra drink to their new "castle". They meet with Abogado Vasquez, tell him that they want to turn Alfonso into a free citizen. Alfonso tells him what he is accused of. Vasques asks Alfonso about his relationship with the Sol? Family. Alfonso won't answer, says he is dead. Vasquez leaves. Sandra assures him that Vasquez believed him.
In the bar, Tony tells the team that Alfonso wants to surrender and laughs. Alma says Barbara did a good job. Tony wonders if they are wrong about Hugo. Memo says no.
El General tells Octavio and Castillo that Carbajal wants to surrender. Octavio says he hasn't heard a word.
Alma tells Tamara and Memo she knows that baby is a girl. Tony arrives, very upset and drinking.
Elizabeth visits Natalia in her office, admits she misses Porfirio, tells Natalia she, too, blames her because of Maria's being in an orphanage. She tells Natalia they all lost.
El General asks El Capitan how Barbara would have heard a rumor that he couldn't find a trace of in la procuradia, wants to talk with Barbara.
Octavio and Castillo talk about Carbajal, the changes and contacts since the death of Daniel. Octavio thinks it is suspicious. Octavio is worried. He says they have to find out what Barbara knows.
Barbara meets with Octavio and Sandra, tells them all are being watched. They talk of El General Jimenez and Vasquez. Barbara tells them that Olivares and Feliciano are up-to-date. Barbara reminds Alfonso that Natalia will probably testify against him. He says he is prepared..
Octavio talks with Natalia, says that Carbajal wants to negotiage: turn himself in.

USA, 12/18/02 - Natalia is furious that the government would negotiate with a killer. Octavio calms her down. Natalia tells Lourdes who is upset that Natalia is still thinking of Alfonso, had hoped she and Octavio were about to renew their relationship.
In their luxurious "home", Sandra kisses Alfonso for the first time in 4 months. They have sex and afterwards she tells him she loves him, asks how he feels. He admits her feels good, tells her he will give their relationship a chance. They make love again.
El General and Octavio ask Barbara where she heard the rumor about Alfonso wanting to turn himself in, because they didn't hear anything. She says she can't reveal her source, suggests that they talk with Olivares.
Meanwhile, Hugo and Gisela have just had sex and the subject of money has come up. Back in the gallery, she offers him a stack of money to do a job, which turns out to be following Barbara. She tells Octavio he took the money without a calm, then starts to read another page of Daniel's letter. Sapo arrives and tells Octavio that Castillo must see him. Gisela demands to meet him but agrees to wait, with the threat that if she doesn't, she will make the rest of the letter public.
As Barbara walks home, she is followed by Hugo.
Sandra sees Alfonso leaving a tulip above the gate in front of Natalia's house, is upset. He tells her it is part of his pledge.
Elizabeth and Natalia talk about Porfirio and Alfonso. Elizabeth says she misses Porfirio but he wanted a mother, not a wife. Natalia insists she just wants to see Alfonso punished.

12/19/02 - Elizabeth tells Natalia it is over with Porfirio; Natalia admits she wishes she could be in love again with Octavio. El General Jimenez arrives at Natalia's house to pick up Lourdes for dinner; it surprises Natalia and Elizabeth.
Alfonso returns with Sandra to his dump of a hideout. She asks him how long he has been leaving flowers for Natalia. He tells Sandra 4 months, every night. She wonders if Natalia knows it is he. Sandra feels hurt. But they try to talk it out. She says they are together because they are both very alone. They talk about their situations, she returns to the house, he decides to stay in the hovel.
Barbara eats with Olivares, tells him what she had to say. He assures her it is ok. He says they'll invent a special commission. She warns him that both El General and Montiel felt they would have heard first. Hugo watches the two.
Octavio tries to calm down Natalia who doesn't understand how a criminal, a murderer can become a "diplomat" Octavio accuses Alfonso of what he himself has done.
Lourdes tries to explain to Natalia about her dinner date, but Natalia doesn't let her, finds another flower as she leaves the house.
Sandra returns the next morning to Alfonso, says "piedad", embrace; they decide to start from zero.
Natalia and Elizabeth visit Maria. Nat says that Porfirio tried to adopt her but couldn't; Elizabeth again accuses her of thinking she is unnatural for not wanting to marry and adopt Maria.
Olivares tells Octavio and Jimenez and Johnson that Carbajal's surrender is being handled from the top. Barbara was involved because they needed proof they were dealing with Carbajal. Olivares tells them the info is correct, Carbajal wants to negotiate, suggests that he may have information to give them. Montiel tells Olivares he wants to be in charge of any investigation. Olivares tells them he doesn't want to negotiate with narcos, wants to do away with Carbajal.
In CenCom, Hugo tries to talk with Barbara but Alma joins them before he can explain what he did.
Lourdes visits Natalia in her office, tries to crack the wall that's sprung up. Natalia tells her that her private life is private, explanations aren't needed. Natalia admits that she doesn't like Jimenez; Lourdes tells her that he doesn't interest her as a man, just wanted to talk about Alfonso's surrender. Natalia tells her that her father died only a few months before. Lourdes asks her how long must a widow wait before she goes out to dinner, accuses her daughter of confusing una mesa con una cama.
Hugo tells Gisela that Barbara met with Olivares, a military man of the old school. He asks Gisela who she really is, tells her he feels used. She tells him she didn't force him to do anything, he didn't hurt anybody, he simply did a job and got paid for it, doesn't understand his problem.
Natalia tells Porfirio she can't find anything in the papers about Alfonso's surrender. Just then, Sandra calls.
Feliciano and Alfonso discuss the next steps. Octavio and Jimenez tell Castillo about the surrender. He is furious; Carbajal knows he is alive.
Natalia meets Sandra in the usual place.

USA, 12/20/02 - missed first 45 minutes. Natalia tells Jimenez she will testify against Alfonso. Jimenez calls Octavio. Alfonso's lawyer tells Octavio that Alfonso isn't going to turn himself in but intends to prove that he is innocent. Alfonso and his lawyer meet with Octavio, show him the proof that all the charges against Alfonso were false. Octavio reminds the lawyer of the confession Alfonso signed. Alfonso says he was forced to sign it. Octavio insists that it is a crime covered by CenCom and Alfonso is under arrest. Alfonso tells his lawyer not to worry. Alma warns Barbara not to trust Hugo, he has changed. Barbara doesn't believe her, says she has known him a long time. Alma tells her they all feel the same. Barbara says they can't treat him as an enemy. Alma says they can't risk it, not now. Sandra climbs on a roof, gets out and prepares a rifle. Octavio calls Castillo, says he is worried. Castillo tells him that he spoke with Alfonso. Octavio has to hang up because Natalia enters the office. Alfonso, his lawyers, guards all arrive in CenCom. Memo attacks Alfonso and is pulled off by the guards.

USA, 12/23-27/02.
USA, 12/23/02 - The entire team pretends to be ready to tear Alfonso to pieces. Jimenez tells Hugo to control his people. Escurdia questions Alfonso with Jimenez, Barbara and Olivares on the other side of the window. Alfonso says the file proves he is innocent, his only contacts with the Tijuana cartel were no different than those of Escurdia or El General in the course of their duties. Jimenez tells Barbara she can leave. Olivares stays, asks what is going on. In her office, Natalia recalls Alfonso's denial at the cemetery that he killed her father, but is determined that he will pay.
Octavio tells Castillo and Johnson that Alfonso may prove his innocence; his lawyer Vasquez got a man freed who was seen getting off a plane with lots of cocaine. Castillo wonders if Olivares trusts them, Octavio and Jimenez were the last to hear of Carbajal. Olivares used Barbara. Castillo has moved houses and changed his security. Castillo tells them that when Alfonso met with him, he said he wanted to work for him when he was freed. Castillo reminds them that one of his labs was destroyed by Jimenez' men. Castillo is beginning not to trust them.
Sandra waits on the roof, has to hide when a woman comes to the top. Tony calls her with information about a car. She sees Alfonso and aims at his car. The guards get out and fire. Sandra leaves the gun on the roof and runs off. They all get back in the car and return to CenCom.
In the expensive house, Sandra finds a tulip waiting for her. Alma arrives and tells Sandra all went well at CenCom.
Octavio and Natalia visit Alfonso in his cell. Natalia is brutal, says he killed her father by changing his pills. Alfonso plays cool, asks if Octavio is trying to confuse her, says the two of them are alike. She tells him she will testify against him, not vengeance but justice. Even if he is declared innocent, she will know he is guilty. When the two leave, Octavio stays behind a second to grin at Alfonso.
Jimenez visits Lourdes, tells her there will be no negotiation; Alfonso will be judged, may exhange information, not to worry about Natalia's testifying. She is strong, wants to testify. He assures Lourdes it isn't revenge but justice. He touches her hand, tells her that life goes on. She asks him how his wife is. Octavio and Natalia arrive at her house and the presence of Jimenez prevents Octavio from trying to press his love.
Castillo and Sapo talk. Castillo thinks that Carbajal may have been telling the truth. Sapo says that Jimenez, Octavio and Johnson wouldn't like that. Castillo says they must wait.
Hugo has dinner with Barbara, tells her again that he doesn't feel comfortable with the group. She tells him she has the feeling he wants to say something but doesn't.
In his cell, Alfonso wonders if Natalia will ever know he did all of this for her.

USA, 12/24/02 - Alfonso's trial begins. Natalia is the first to testify, says she knows Alfonso is guilty, shows proof that his medication was changed, is certain Alfonso was responsible, killed her father. The lawyer asks her if Alfonso slept with her father. She says of course not. Alfonso tells her she has no proof, he didn't even know what medication he was taking or when. He tells her to think. The court orders him released for lack of proof. Octavio puts on a show, tells him he personally will prove that Alfonso is corrupt. Back in CenCom, Olivares acts offended. Jimenez says it is out of their hands. Barbara tells them that, as a lawyer, she must agree with the judge that the proofs were insufficient. Olivares blames Jimenez for, in essence, a sloppy investigation and the lack of substantial proof. Natalia blames Octavio, didn't do enough and that is a crime. Alfonso gives a brief press conference. Natalia confronts him, says she doesn't know how he did it, but he will pay.
Jimenez and Johnson are not happy about Castillo's decision to work with Carbajal.
Sandra tells Alma that for now they have to concentrate on helping Alfonso infiltrate Castillo's outfit and in unmasking Octavio and Jimenez. Alma says she knows that, but says they have to think of the future, that it will all be worthwhile.
Tony gets a call from a boy, reminding him that he said to call if they were abused. He goes to a building, up the stairs. A young boy tells him that ? is in the bathroom. There he finds the man who abused him just about to abuse the child. While Tony points a gun at him, Memo arrives and pulls his own gun. Tony doesn't shoot. When he and Tony turn to leave, the man pulls a gun on them and Memo shoots. The man dies and Memo seems shocked.
Sapo and Castillo laugh about Alfonso's acquittal, remark that nobody believes it. In CenCom, Octavio tells Jimenez that Alfonso made fun of them with their own methods. Octavio tells Jimenez they must guard their backs, don't want to fall because of an error by Castillo.
Alfonso joins his team, who all congratulate him. He tells them that from now on they must see other less often. Alma says all in CenCom are nervous. Some of them are working to make sure that Castillo will trust Alfonso. They will also continue to search for proof from within CenCom.
Lourdes tells Natalia she is going to dine again with Jimenez Arroyo. He swore this wouldn't happen, but neither he, nor Octavio could do anything. Natalia tells her she is going to make sure that Alfonso pays.
Sandra arrives at Octavio's apartment. He greets her with a glass of wine.
