Adela - madre de Charito, esposo de Daniel. doesn’t
realizes he has been abusing her daughter since they married. When she learns
of it, doesn’t believe it at first. Even after she does, she reconciles with
him. But when she finds him trying to rape Charito again, she kills him and
goes to jail.
Alberto Miranda - Victor Gonzalez : spoiled son of Rolando, hermano de César.
believes in money and beautiful women. has affairs with Marisela and Lena,
seduces Desirée and gets her to particpate in the replacement of Alicia. ends
up losing his father’s agency, marries Marisela
Alicia Ramirez -
Vanessa Acosta: una buena
muchacha, inteligente, pero algo fea. gains the friendship and trust of
Rogelio, then wins the love of César.
loses him to Marisela and then to Paulina, thanks to tricks played by

fear for her mother. With the help of Carmela, she eventually tells her mother
the truth.
Dario - esposo de Lucia, amante de Cynthia, Sonia, y Dunia. hermano
de Rafael. a womanizer who has an affair with Cynthia. participates in
the planned kidnapping of Juanito, kidnapping and murder of Alicia. When he
survives a supposed death, he changes, becomes a Data-like “angel-on-earth”
determined to make up for all the bad he has done. just sort of disappears from
the novela.
Desirée - novia de Carlos, hija de Clotilde,
hermana germela de Alicia. When she first appears in the novela, she becomes a
partner with Carlos and Dunia in the kidnapping of Alicia, during which time she impersonates Alicia with the help
of makeup and a dental apparatus. can’t go through with the murder and is
forgiven by Alicia. falls for Andrés and then for Javier.
Dinora(?) - madre de Lena. has a very bad
relationship with her daughter. appears in the last months of the novela and
leaves before the end.
Dunia Miranda - Gina Romand: madre de
Alberto y César, esposo de Rolando. amiga de Sonia y Daniela killed Rolando’s
lover many years before (never quite clear if she really did or just says she
did). doesn’t love her husband. prefers Alberto to César. she is a woman who enjoys
the good life: clothes, jewelry, massages, etc. Arranges for the murder of
Alicia, the kidnapping of Juanito to recover the inheritance her husband left
to Alicia. Seems to change toward the end of the novela, recognizes her errors.
becoming real friends with Alicia and her family.
Elena (Lena) - mejor amiga de Marisela. see Lena
Engracia Valdés - Regina Torne : madre de
Jaime. a woman with a very strong personality. at first, she seems the typical
villain but turns into a comic villain: a woman with strong sexual appetites
who goes after Gerardo, who likes bondage scenarios (with the whip in her
hand), then becomes ultra-religious. marries Gerardo
Enrique Alvarado - Miguel Couturier: padre de
Alma, esposa de Carolina. se enamora de
Cynthia, se divorcia de Carolina, se casa con Cynthia. loses all his money,
divorces Cynthia
Fátima - madre de Carmela, esposa de Arturo. always putting down her
daughter, doesn’t believe any man could love her, has obviously impeded earlier
attachments. successfully prevents Carmela’s marriage to Javier. When
Carmela finally, and surprisingly, leaves her, she ends up dependent on
Charito, in a home for old people. For a while, she survives as a street
person. Eventually goes to live with Carmela and her new husband elsewhere and
leaves the novela
