Episode #1
The story begins with a train on its way to
its destination.
Narrator (Cesar Evora)- I lived this story.
No one told it to me. The importance of that afternoon is of a train advancing
through the mountains like a giant worm. Inside that train was a coffin that
contained the body of General Francisco Ortiz (Ignacio Lopez Tarso) on his last
journey home. This is how this story begins.
Valdes (Luis Bayardo) reminds Diego
(Sebastian Villarreal) that they're in mourning and that his sister has to
accept the condolensces from all the towns in the region for what they
represented to the General. Cpt. Fernando Ortiz (Sergio Sendel) looks for the
General's widow but there's no response and tells Valdes to let her know to be
ready for their next stop. Diego's afraid of the captain as he orders Valdes to
follow his orders. The train comes to it's next stop as Diego tells Valdes he
wants to see his sister but denies to let him go. The coffin is displayed as
the General's widow is offered condolensces.
Narrator-The monstrous voice of the man who
spoke offered a long and boring speech just like the ones that were read all
that day.
Later Virginia (Adela Noriega) feels weak
and looks to sit down but the captain tells her rudely to hold on and that she
can rest all she wants on the train. When he brings her a chair she denies it.
Valdes promises Diego he'll be able to see his sister later. Later Virginia
breaks down in tears in front of the coffin when Valdes tells her to be strong
for Diego. Valdes tells Diego they are heading for a town called San Francisco
de los Arenales.
Narrator-San Francisco de los Arenales. A
town where nothing happens and if something does its commented for years. Here
every word, every action and every sentiment are examined and when they can't
be examined they are invented.
Loco Serenata (Cesar Evora) announces to
the town of the arrival of the General and a forthcoming tragedy. Fabian
(Antonio Salaberri) asks Virginia if she's fine. She takes off her veil and
asks him about SF de los Arenales and he's surprised she doesn't know where
they're going. She becomes bothered by his questions as Cpt. Ortiz gets after
him. He then walks to the coffin and asks his uncle why he married her.
Virginia thinks back to the day she married the General. The engineers of the train
talk about the delay of the train carrying the money when two masked men
appear. The poor people thank the goodwill people who leave them food. Virginia
opens the window as she thinks back to the conversation she had with her friend
Alejandra. She asks her mother to protect her when Diego arrives to see her.
Virginia tells her little brother to be strong and that she'll always protect
him. He tells her she loves her like a mother and she promises they'll never be
separated. As he leaves she begins to undress and one of the masked men (Jorge
Salinas) enters her cabin and demands to know where the money is as they stare
at each other.
She tells him there's no money and that the
train is transporting the body of the General. He apologizes and says he's only
going to steal one thing, a look from her because her eyes are the two most
precious gems he's ever seen. She begs him to leave or she'll scream. Diego
knocks on her door as the masked man tells her not to be afraid and leaves.
Virginia opens the door and Valdes asks her why she opened the window. She
locks the door when they leave, looks outside the window and breathes a sigh of
relief. The two men (Jorge Salinas and Alejandro Ruiz) ride home. Cpt. Ortiz
tells Valdes that he sent a telegram to SF de los Arenales to have the house
ready for Virginia's arrival. Valdes promises that he will be there to guide
Virginia and assures him that Diego is her brother and not her son. In SFDLA
Aurelia (Lilia Aragon) gets a visit from Cristobal (Roberto Ballesteros) that
he received the telegram to have everything ready for the widow and the young
boy and she asks who it is. Diego tells Virginia to break the promise she made
to the General and she tells him that when you make a promise to a dying person
you keep it. Aurelia swears at Virginia as Cristobal asks her if Cpt. Fernando
Ortiz is really the General's son and not his nephew. Loco Serenata sings to
Olga (Arleth Teran) as she attends church and talks to Father Matias (Eugenio
Cobo). Cristobal assures Aurelia that he'll make the widow's life a living
hell. Virginia wonders how she will be received as she thinks of the masked man
and says she's going to turn him in as soon as she arrives in town. Loreto
(Alejandro Ruiz) complains about Jose Guadalupe (Jorge Salinas) on his
ineptness to catch the train robbers. Father Matias tells his worker that Jose
Guadalupe has enough to worry about like his wife Blanca's (Natalia Esperon)
illness as she wonders about the widow.
Narrator-When the General's widow felt her
strength abandoning her she read the letter that her mother wrote her that
after reading so many times it almost tore into many pieces.
'If General Ortiz looks for you, do it for
Diego because despite his betrayal he has to be responsible for his son Diego.'
She tells her mother she kept her word sacrificing her own will.

Episode #2
Blanca (Natalia Esperon) looks at a photo
of her daughter Marisol (Kendra) when Olga arrives. Blanca comments to her that
she doesn't understand the hatred toward the General's widow if no on has met
her. The workers protest at the mine as Tomas (Jose Antonio Ferral) and Paulino
(Daniel Gauvry) comment if they don't like the consitions to go work somewhere
else. Night falls.
Narrator-The night has won the train again
that carries the General's body and the closed window feels like a prison to
Virginia.
Will the
young lady be able to accustom herself to her new world?
Aurelia roams through the General's house
and swears at his portrait saying he's going to make his widow suffer. A train
is blocked by debris on the train tracks. In the meantime the robbers are able
to rob the train. Olga asks for Jose Guadalupe and Blanca reminds her that he's
busy being the head of the town and the town doctor. Blanca who is gravely ill
asks God to give her life until her daughter's 15th birthday. Aurelia infroms
Cristobal she won't go to the train station but she will go to church. The bells
ring to signify the arrival of the train.
Narrator-The whole town came out to greet
the General and their leader Dr. Jose Guadalupe Cruz (Jorge Salinas) was at the
head of the train car that carried the coffin.
Virginia comes face to face with Jose Guadalupe
as she takes off her veil and they both stare at each other as Virginia in her
mind repeats the words, 'Those Eyes'. Olga notices the connection as he offers
to escort her to the service. Blanca cries at not being able to meet the
General's widow and admits she fakes being happy and that she wants Jose
Guadalupe as her husband and not her doctor. She plans a big celebration for
her daughter because she knows she's dying. As Jose Guadalupe offers his
condolensces Virginia seems to recognize his voice. Clemencia (Delia Casanova)
tries to lift Blanca's spirits. Aurelia's shocked when she sees Virginia and
says she's too young to be the General's widow. Virginia recalls the promise
she made to the General before he died. A sudden gush of wind rushes into the
church as Aurelia says something bad is going to happen with Virginia's
arrival.
After the service Fernando doesn't let
Diego be with Virginia but Jose Guadalupe intervenes saying that military
protocol shouldn't include a child and tells him to go be with his sister. Jose
Guadalupe offers to escort Virginia to the cemetary.
Narrator-The wheel of destiny started to
turn at that precise moment when Virginia confided in that comfort, she was
surrending herself to another will.
Diego asks Virginia why they're in that
town and she tells him it's for his own good. The funeral continues as she
tells her brother they will soon be leaving town. Blanca reminds Clemencia of
how she met Jose Guadalupe. Pvt. Fabian Barquin tells Jose Guadalupe that Cpt.
Ortiz escorted Virginia to her home. Fabian tells his cousin Olga Barquin that
he's interested in Virginia. Loreto confronts Jose Guadalupe in front of the
townspeople and hits him. Olga separates them. Fernando wonders why the house
is abandoned as Valdes finds the keys and lets them in. He offers his home but
tells him it's not necessary. Valdes tells Virginia not to worry as she assures
Diego she'll always be by his side. Blanca asks her husband about Virginia as
he asks him to be nice to her as he puts his wife in bed. Fernando confronts
Aurelia concerning the big house but she denies knowing anything and tells him
he is no longer responsible for Virginia. Tadeo (Juan Carlos Hans) tells
Fernando that Virginia has a visitor. Jose Guadalupe offers his home but Virginia
tells him she'll be fine and that she belongs in her husband's home. Aurelia
talks to her son about the reading of the will. Jose Guadalupe asks Loreto why
he hit him so hard as he tells him they have to stop robbing the trains because
of the town's discontent of his job and that Fernando will be staying in town
for a while. Virginia feels the stares of the townspeople as she makes her way
to the notary's office. There the Notary (Eduardo Noriega) tells her of the
property the General left for Aurelia and Fernando and all of his inheritance
will be for his wife, Virginia Alfaro de Ortiz under one condition: she has to
live in San Fernando de los Arenales for 10 YEARS.

Episode #3
Virginia asks the notary what the condition means and if she
were to leave what would happen. He tells her she will lose everything and that
there's a letter that will be read if she dies. Virginia leaves and Jose
Guadalupe follows her. She tells him she doesn't want to live there and that
she had planned to leave that same day. Valdes arrives at that moment and she
leaves with him. Jose Guadalupe wonders why Virginia married the General.
Fernando tells his mother he wants to leave town and is surprised at her
attitude. Virginia tells Valdes that Aurelia hates her. He reminds her that she
made a promise to protect Diego. Fernando defends Virginia and tells his mother
he was embarrased at the way the big house looked. Jose Guadalupe tells Blanca
not to overdo the fixing of Marisol's room with her arrival the following day.
He makes his wife laugh and he tells her about the reading of the will. She
tells him that she wants Virginia to be her friend. Virginia tells Valdes that
she's keeping two promises, her mother's and the General's, that Diego is the
illegitimate son of General Francisco Ortiz and her mother. Valdes tells her
she's a noble person and that one day God will reward her with true happiness.
She says it won't happen because she will never be happy there. Aurelia meets
with Cristobal and he suggests she be friendly toward Virginia and then kisses
her. Valdes suggest to Virginia to fix the house and make it her own. She,
Diego and Valdes clean the house. She then tells Valdes that she needs to think
at why things happened the way they did. Fernando asks Cristobal about his
whereabouts and tells him Virginia is his new boss. Jose Guadalupe listens to
the merchants as his mind is somewhere else. Virginia takes a bath as she
thinks of the masked man and wonders why she didn't turn him in. Jose Guadalupe
tries to explain to the merchants why the townspeople are so unhappy. Loco
Serenata tells the merchants that all the secrets he knows are between poor people.
Jose Guadalupe visits Virginia and tells her he'll always help her and protect
her. She confides in him and almost faints. Fernando learns that Jose Guadalupe
is at Virginia's. Virginia tells Jose Guadalupe to promise he'll protect her
but is then surprised to learn he's married when he gives her Blanca's
invitation.
Virginia tells the doctor that she didn't
know he was married and can't promise to meet with Blanca when Diego arrives
and says he wants to go to visit his house. She and Diego watch Dr. Cruz leave
when shots ring out and several horses run through the property. Jose Guadalupe
returns to her house and to her side and hugs her telling he he intends to keep
his promise to protect her. He tells her that he knows who might have taken the
horses and promises to return them and also promises her protection. He gives
Valdes a gun and he tells Virginia that Jose Guadalupe is a man of his word. He
returns home and Blanca asks where he's been and he's bothered but apologizes
for his attitude and hugs her. Virginia puts Diego to bed and says she has to
forget Jose Guadalupe because he's married. Blanca asks her husband if she
talked to Virginia and tells her what occurred and she thanks him for being so
generous. Jose Guadalupe thinks of Virginia and she of him.
Jose Guadalupe tells Cristobal to return
the horses by the next morning or he'll put him in jail. Valdes tells Virginia
that everything is in order. She asks him about Aurelia and he evades the
question telling her that the General had his run-ins with Jose Guadalupe. He
gives her a piece of advice; to keep her eyes open. Diego worries that Virginia
will become ill and die like their mother. Fernando tells Tadeo not to worry
about Virginia anymore. Jose Guadalupe promises Virginia that her horses will
be returned to their corrals. She thanks Jose Guadalupe but tells him she wants
to leave, that everyone is her enemy. He tells her that she's being unjust and
promises he'll help her. As he tries to console her Fernando arrives.

Episode #4

doesn't undertand why Cristobal has to return the horses to the corrals. He
tells her that maybe Jose Guadalupe wants to win over Virginia over the dispute
of the property line. After threatening each other they kiss. Fernando asks
Jose Guadalupe who gave him the title of Virginia's protector and he says he
did. He tells Virginia he doesn't want any problems with Fernando so he's
leaving. Diego feeds Jose Guadalupe's horse as he tells him to comment the
visit to his house to Virginia. Blanca cries as Clemencia asks her what's
wrong. She says that Jose Guadalupe is spending less time with her but she
shouldn't complain because he protects her even though they haven't been
intimate for a long time. She asks her what would make her happy and she says
that she wants to write a letter to Virginia so she can meet her and wonders if
Marisol and Diego will get along. Loreto offers Serenata some water and asks
him if he knows anything and he says he knows of the masked men and though
wouldn't be able to recognize them he's almost positive it could be him but
Loreto denies it. Cristobal insinuates to Clemencia that Jose Guadalupe is
spending too much time with Virginia. She tells him not to mention Blanca and
that she's honest, not a thief like him. Virginia talks to Valdes when Diego
brings her a letter from Blanca inviting her to pay her a visit and offers her
friendship. Jose Guadalupe informs Blanca he's heading to Villa de Rosario to
pick up Marisol. He also tells her that Virginia's horses will be returned and
of his visit to her earlier in the day. Aurelia asks Fernando to take her to

dies. Diego runs away from Virgina on her way to Blanca's. Jose Guadalupe sits
at the river bank and says he's late when Olga arrives and kisses him. Virginia

Diego asks Virginia why she's so sad as she wonders why Jose Guadalupe is unfaithful to his wife. Jose Guadalupe pulls away from Olga saying he can't be with her anymore as he feels guilty. She reminds him that his wife will soon die and he quiets her. He reminds her that they both betrayed Blanca. She tells him that one day he wil be hers and hugs him. Fernando tells his mother he wants to ask for a transfer and sell the property but she tells him not to do it and informs her that while he's in town he has orders to apprehend the train robbers if Jose Guadalupe is unable to do so. Virginia meets Blanca and there's an immediate connection. She and Clemencia comment on how well-educated Diego is and Virginia tells Blanca she's proud of him and that he's everything to her. Aurelia learns from Valdes that Virginia is at Jose Guadalupe's home. Virginia and Blanca talk about Marisol and Diego is anxious to meet her. Virginia realizes that Blanca is unaware of her husband's infidelity. Olga questions Jose Guadalupe about his attentions toward Virgina and he defends himself. Fernando doesn't want to know anything about Virginia but is intrigued to learn where she is. Blanca tells Virginia that when Jose Guadalupe does something for someone it's because he wants to do it and it comes from his heart. Olga tells the doctor she can't live without him. Blanca confesses to Virginia that she's dying and that makes her even more angry toward Jose Guadalupe. The Mother Superior tells Jose Guadalupe that since he was late he put Marisol on the train with a nun to escort her San Francisco de los Arenales. Marisol (Kendra) wonders why her father didn't come for her. A kindred spirit develops between Virginia and Blanca as Virginia promises her that she can always lean on her. Blanca shows her Marisol's room and begins to cry when she sees a picture of her family. Cristobal tells Aurelia that he isn't sure that he has a job with Virginia as she promises to crush her. Jose Guadalupe speeds home as Blanca tells Virginia that she only has one friend, Olga Barquin. At that moment Aurelia and Fernando arrive at the Cruz home.

involved in the capture of the train robbers. Jose Guadalupe arrives home and

brother not her son. In response she calls her 'Mrs.' and she says she's a
'Miss'. Olga reminds her that she's Blanca's friend and Virginia asks her if
she's also Jose Guadalupe's 'friend'. They leave and Diego tells his sister
that Olga has eyes of a snake but that Blanca is a good lady. 'Yes she is
Diego, too good'. She thinks out loud, 'No one should be so good, you should
never be so good'. Blanca tells Father Matias that she wishes she wasn't such a
good person and rebels against her destiny. Jose Guadalupe tries to hide his
pain as she is smitten by Fernando. Blanca believes that she is a bother to
Jose Guadalupe and tells the priest to pray for her. Diego and Virginia are
surprised to see all their horses back in their corrals when Jose Guadalupe
arrives. Virginia is indifferent with him and he asks her what's wrong. He
tells her he thought there was trust and she answers him saying she thought he
was another type of ma. 'I don't understand' he asks. 'Okay then I'll be very
clear, I can't understand how if you have a wonderful woman at home you can be
unfaithful to her with that woman who is worthless'.

doing and gives her some keys.
Narrator: San Francisco de los Arenales is
a small town away from everyday life and civilization. Sometimes I errounously
try to remember people's faces but they have all left and those that stayed are
like beloved ones without souls that move with the calmness that the powder
moves. The days and nights go by slowly and sometimes, only sometimes they move
by the intensity of people's passions.
Loreto talks to Serenata. Virginia looks
into Jose Guadalupe's eyes and remembers the train robber and he tells her is
something is wrong. She tells him he reminds her of someone she met on the
train. 'It has been said that in this town, in a distant and hidden place, all
men look that way, with passion and respect. We are gentlemen' Jose Guadalupe
says as he kisses her hand and walks away. She thinks back and believes that
the train robber and Jose Guadalupe are the same person. Loreto tells Serenata
not to repeat what he knows about the train robbers or he'll be put in jail. A
frightened Serenata tells him he won't say anything because in prison they'll
bathe him. Aurelia tells Fernando that she doesn't want to leave and he tells
her he's not going fight an inheritance and if he would defend something
valuable would be to fight for the woman he loves. Blanca apologizes to Jose
Guadalupe for her behavior and tells her he walked Virginia home and not to
worry about him. Fernando again warns Virginia about Cristobal and about his
discontent towards Jose Guadalupe's incapability to catch the train robbers.
She tells him that one of the robbers entered her cab and he asks her why
didn't she tells him. She reminds him that he wasn't so courteous to her when
Fabian arrives and tells him what Serenatat told him. Virginia's surprised at
Fernando's attitude. Loreto talks to Jose Guadalupe about what Serenata knows
and they cover up the cave as the soldiers search the area. Diego informs
Virginia that Jose Guadalupe just arrives and Fernando leaves. Virginia accuses
Jose Guadalupe of being the train robber. He almost gives himself away but he
covers and denies it. Fabian drags Serenata through town as the residents try
to help him. Blanca visits with Marisol and she admits that she likes Fernando
as he thinks of Virginia's words. Virginia retracts her accusation toward Jose
Guadalupe but tells him she's going to keep an eye on him. He wonders why she
has so much admiration for the badit instead of beinf scared of him. Loreto
looks for Jose Guadalupe to complain about Fabian's treatment of Serenat as he
continues to mistreat him. He takes him to the cave but it's covered up with
huge boulders. Fernando reprimands Fabian for his treatment toward Serenata and
orders him to look for him and offer him a public apology. Loreto tells Jose
Guadalupe that he left a note at the mine telling them to pay their workers or
they won't get their money back. Jose Guadalupe learns that Serenata has the
missing bag of money. Serenata is able to enter the cave and leave the bag of
money with the others. Paulino and Tomas have no other choice thatn to pay the
workers. Virginia tells the notary that the fortune belongs to Diego and not
hers but he tells her she can't leave town or change the will. Fernando tells
Jose Guadalupe of his plans to trap the bandits and at first he doesn't want
him to interfere but agrees to his plan. Fernando gets his troops ready as
Blanca tells Jose Guadalupe to take care of himself. Olga visits Virginia and
tells her to stay away from Blanca but she tells her she's not going to listen
to her. She then insults her and Virginia has no choice but to slap her and
tells her she's not like her and Olga leaves. Everyone awaits the dropoff of
the money. Blanca tells Clemencia that she doesn't blame Jose Guadalupe for looking
for someone and that Olga isn't going to get what she wants because she has her

never been scared of the dificulties or struggles but she couldn't confront her

inheritance with Captain Ortiz. She could fight against everything and against
anyone but not against but not the rights of Captain Fernando Ortiz, those

continues telling her that's the reason he offered to protect her but then he
learned she was arrogant and that her mistrust and attitude came out and is
drivining him crazy. He also tells her that she's a teacher in lying and
hypocrisy and that she's a wolf in sheep's skin in order to make the town feel
sorry for her. She tells him to stop his insults. 'What I'm telling you are insults,
but what you tell me is the truth', he says. She interrups him telling him
she's not spoiled because up until that moment she hasn't had time for herself,
have an attitude she admits she does because she doesn't accept his conduct,
arrogant she's not because before him and her is Blanca because their
friendship is stronger than her dignity and pride. Despite the bad moment she
just experienced she shouldn't step in his house but for that she has to give
Blanca a reason and she doesn't want to hurt her. He asks her what she really
thinks of him and she tells him he already knows. He tells her that his opinion
of her changed when he saw her kissing Fabian and he knows she enjoyed it. She

her. Blanca decides to take a ride. The ladies gossip in town. Rosa tells
Loreto that his brother is coming home. Lima tells Loreto what he heard
Virginia say in confession and one of the ladies overhear them. After a shower

her. The gossip spreads like wildfire. Marisol tells Blanca that she's starting
to dislike Virginia because Fernando likes her. Virginia confesses to Father
Matias that she and JG kissed and he thinks that Blanca's plan is coming true
but that it can't happen. In Villa del Rosario JG meets with his mentor Dr.
Misael Mendoza (Otto Sirgo) and asks him for his daughter. He tells him that
Margarita told him about Blanca. JG tells his professor that he's a coward. The
whole town is chocked when they see Virginia and she is no longer wearing
black.
Narrator:I'll never forget that day the
town plaza stood still as the widow of General Ortiz walked by. Everyone tried
to get closer to her as the bells rang. Whispers arose along with the wind that
picked up the women's skirts. There she goes the women said there goes Virginia

visited it have stories of love, passion and even death. Up there the wind has
taken huge dimensions and that same wind has taken those words of love.

Aurelia asks Virginia why she's going out and they begin to argue. Virginia tells her she'll only support so much and if she wants to play with fire she might get burned. Dante tells Cristobal he's worried they'll suspect him of the twins' murders. Olga runs into Misael and they talk. Aurelia yells at Fernando and he tells her that she doesn't change and that he loves Virginia and that he's capable of everything for her. Virginia tries on Blanca's wedding dress and it fits her perfectly. Blanca gives it to her as a wedding present and tells her that she finally understood that she should live her life. At that moment JG walks in and he says he knows it's back luck to see the bride before the wedding. Everyone's embarrassed when Clemencia tells her he's not the groom. Blanca tells him that superstition doesn't pertain to him and he leaves. Blanca asks Virginia if she noticed how it affected JG seeing her in in her wedding dress. Fernando's surprised when Aurelia arrive and tells him she accepts his marriage to Virginia as she tells Valdes she needs to keep the promise she made to Fernando and to stay from JG. Valdes also tells her about the intimacy part of marriage and he admits his wife married him for the same reasons she's marrying Fernando and that his wife didn't love him and left him. He asks her what she's going to do when Blanca dies and JG is free. 'Nothing' she says because I'll be married to Fernando. Aurelia tells Cristobal how Virginia's arriving to church and to do something to her because she wants her dead before she arrives for her wedding.

decides to stay. Serenata thinks of Aida and recites poetry as she recalls the
encounter she had with him. Virginia visits JG and says she wants to keep her
promise to re-build the houses that were destroyed by the flood. She offers to
buy the land that belongs to him but he says he won't sell them, he'll donate

land in her name and he only wishes for her to be happy. Efren tells Olga he's
changed and she says she sees it but that it won't last long. Efren wonders if
he should tell Olga he's not her father so she could look for her real parents.
Misael thanks Margarita for her hard work and dedication as she thanks Blanca
for her hospitality when Loreto arrives and offers to take her home. Fr. Matias
tells Virginia he's happy Blanca changed her mind and that he'll be waiting for
them at the altar. Diego and Fernando talk about the wedding. The workers get
the carriage ready when Cristobal arrives and says he's going to check the carriage
himself. Olga questions Aurelia about Fernando as Aurelia invites her to the
wedding. Marisol shows her mom that dress she wants for her celebration and
tells her she no longer wants Olga as her godmother but Virginia and Blanca is
thrilled she changed her mind. Olga talks about her parents to Aurelia. Efren
asks Serenata if he has family and he says he has no one in the world. He talks
about his lost love as Rolando wonders what business he can do with Virginia.
Valdes offers Fernando to serve him like he served the General and he agrees.
JG arrives and is surprised to see Fernando up and about. He offers his good
wishes in his upcoming wedding and Fernando tells him that he owes part of
happiness to him for saving his life. Loreto tells his parents he's met the
girl of his dreams as she tells her mother about Loreto. She becomes bothered
and says she's never returning to San Francisco de los Arenales. Virginia tells
her workers that they're going to learn to read and write despite their
objections and takes the opportunity to invite them to her wedding. Misael asks
Loreto if he likes Margarita and that Soledad will give her permission to go to
the wedding. Margarita convinces her mother to let her attend the ceremony.
Virginia asks JG if Fernando could ride to church by horse when Rolando
arrives. Olga asks Misael if she can count on him as a friend. Virginia tells
Rolando she's not available to do any business but invites him and his family
to the wedding and he accepts. Fernando thanks Virginia for everything she did
for him. Aurelia arrives to see Cristobal and finds Dante who looks exactly
like the General when he was young and they question each other. Blanca becomes
bothered when Olga arrives to see her. Clemencia comes between them as Blanca
tells her if she had any dignity she wouldn't come and see her when she ordered
her not to get near her or her family. Olga reminds her that she forgave her.
'Yes, but I won't forget' Blanca says. "What you did to me is called
betrayal and you called yourself my friend' she continues. Olga tells her she
shouldn't humiliated her that way. 'The one humiliated was me when I was the
talk of the town and everyone felt pity for me'. Olga tells her she's leaving
and that she'll wait until she looks for her and Clemencia tells her that will
never happen and to take the same road that brought her there. She leaves and
Clemencia applauds Blanca for what she did. Virginia and Aurelia argue and
unknown to them Fernando overhears his mother say that Diego is the General's
son and so is he. Virginia begs her to tell him the truth but she denies to and
leaves. Fernando enters and asks Virginia why no one told him the truth. Diego
tells Valdes that he now accepts Fernando and prays to his mother. Virginia

Aurelia denies her servants to attend the
wedding when Fernando arrives and confronts her about being the General's son.
Virginia tells Valdes that Fernando knows the truth and he tells her it's
better that he knows so there won't be any secrets between them. Fernando tells
Aurelia he heard everything and asks her why the General denied him. She covers
by telling him only part of the story. She tells him that's the reason she
fought for the inheritance and he tells her he understands but won't do
anything to reclaim any part of the fortune because it belongs to Virginia and
only her. She tells him he has oatmeal running through his veins and if he marries
Virginia to forget about her. He says he can't forget her and despite what she
did he deserved the truth. She tells him that one day he'll be a father and
will understand. He still wants to know why the General didn't recognize him
but isn't going to judge him since he has already been judged by God. Aurelia
lies promising she'll try to accept Virginia and Diego and hugs him. Aida looks
at a picture of her lost love. Efren invites Serenata into his home but when
Olga arrives she orders him to leave. Margarita tells her mother that one day
she'll have to tell her shy she doesn't want to go to SFDLA. Aurelia and
Cristobal wonder about Dante. Fernando tells Virginia that he forgave his
mother and that he doesn't want anything that's not written in the will.
Cristobal tells Aurelia what he did so Virginia will die. He reaches over to
kiss her but she pushes him away and leaves. Fernando tries to kiss Virginia
but she tells him she needs time and he tells her he understands. Soledad looks
at a picture of her, Valdes and their daughter and thinks back when she cheated
on her husband and hopes her daughter never finds out. Valdes recalls the day
that he told the General that his wife abandoned him.
Narrator: It's like the old saying says,
there isn't a day that doesn't arrive and a term that isn't fulfilled. The day
has finally arrived, the wedding of Virginia Alfaro and Captain Ortiz. Everyone
has gotten all dresses up so they can arrive early to church and get the best
seat. The all want to see the arrival of the Virgin Bride.
Angelina helps Virginia get ready and tells
her she doesn't look happy. She tells her it's her nerves. Angelina thanks her
for inviting her to her wedding and assures her that she looks unhappy, more
like she wants to back out and she tells her never. Serenata sings in the town
square as everyone criticizes Olga when she arrives with Aurelia at church.
Clemencia tells Blanca that Virginia didn't want Olga there as Cristobal says
Virginia will soon be dead. Virginia and Diego are on the way when the rider
begins to have problems with the horses. They go out of control when Diego sees
Fernando approaching. He tells them all to jump. Diego does but Virginia can't
since her dress is stuck. Fernando jumps on the horses but isn't able to control
them and falls between them. He's dragged by the carriage and then is freed and
he hits a boulder and is severely injured as Virginia watches in horror. The
wheel falls off and an uninjured Virginia is able to free herself and run to
her brother and fiancee's side. She runs into the plaza yelling for help as
Serenata asks her what's wrong. She falls but is able to get up and runs toward
the church where everyone wonders where the couple is.
Serenata: An apparition, a ghost in white
full of pain and despair, the bride ran by without love.
She arrives at the church and begs for help
where Cristobal is shocked to see her alive. She tells JG and Misael what
happened and they run to the site. Aurelia is destroyed learning of her son's
accident. Misael tells JG that Fernando is critical as Aurelia becomes angry
with Cristobal. Everyone prays as Serenata sees Aida. Virginia wants to be by
Fernando's side as Valdes, Clemencia and Blanca try to console her. She prays
for his recovery as the doctors try to save his life. The town talks about the
tragedy as the witch tells Matiana that she knew the wedding wasn't going to
take place and they make fun of Virginia's disgrace. Marisol and her friends
take care of Diego. Misael and JG operate on Fernando. Arturo offers to take
Diego and Marisol home. Misael tells Margarita he needs AB negative blood and
she tells him it's a rare blood type. Misael tells JG that they're not quite
equipped with the necessities they need to operate on Fernando. Margarita looks
for a donor as Aurelia blames Virginia for what happened and Blanca and Valdes
defend her. Cristobal defends Aurelia when Margarita tells them all to be quiet
and Valdes feels a connection to her. Serenata is saddened by the events as
Efren listens to his words. As everyone waits for any news Aurelia tells Olga
that Virginia isn't crying and that means she doesn't love Fernando,. Fr.
Matias arrives and offers Virginia support. The surgery continues.
Narrator: The lights of the church were
turned off and the flowers that adourned the aisles were saddened, never seeing
the bride walk down the aisle. We had never lived a tragedy like that in San
Francisco de los Arenales, a tragedy of love. Virginia and Fernando didn't
unite with God's blessing. At this moment everyone awaited word on the young
Captain that was between life and death.
Valdes tries to calm Virginia down when JG
tells them they need blood. Valdes tells him no one has his blood type until
Olga says she does. Matiana tells the witch that Olga has Fernando's blood
type. Dante offers Paulino and Tomas a deal to steal money from the train.
Loreto arrives at the clinic when Misael tells all present that Fernando came
out of the surgery. Aurelia tells him she senses something else is wrong and JG
tells her that Fernando is paralyzed.

Everyone's shocked to learn that Fernando
is paralyzed. The doctor tells Aurelia he has to spend the night at the clinic
and that the next 24 hours are very critical. Aurelia is distraught as JG takes
Virginia home. Valdes talks to Margarita and thanks her for all she did. Blanca
tells Clemencia that her heart broke when she saw Virginia running into the
church asking for help in desperation. Clemencia tells her that she gave her
the dress with all her good wishes and that Fernando is a good man and didn't
deserve what happened to him. Blanca tells her it's destiny that Virginia
didn't marry Fernando and that destiny will show that she's supposed to be with
Jose Guadalupe. Virginia tells JG that she's going to marry Fernando no matter
what. JG tells her that because of the accident she and Fernando will never be
intimate and she answers him back saying that she will remain a Virgin Bride
all her life but that she's marrying Fernando. She blames herself for the
accident but JG assures her it's not her fault. Valdes learns that Margarita is
in love with Loreto. Virginia recalls the accident and and says she didn't
expect her wedding day to end like it did. Aurelia sees Fernando and he asks
why he doesn't feel his legs. Virginia talks to her servants when Diego arrives
home. She asks Arturo for a favor and goes to see Fernando. Aurelia tries to
comfort her son and she tells herself she tried to kill Virginia and not him.
Loreto hears Serenata announce that the train was robbed. Dante hides the
stolen money in Cristobal's place. Aurelia confront Cristobal and he defends
himself as they threaten each other. Valdes asks for Fernando when Virginia
arrives and tells Misael she's going to take care of him all night. Dante
questions Cristobal and he becomes defensive. Raquela asks Arturo is he knows
where Rolando is and at that moment he's having dinner with Soledad. They talk
about the wedding and she asks about Virginia and she becomes nervous when
Valdes' name comes up. Virginia tells Valdes that it's her fault that Fernando
will always be in a wheelchair. Rolando tells Soledad that he's married but
unhappy and admits he doesn't want to lie to her but doesn't tell her his real
name. Aida tells Arturo that she'll let him be free if he ever falls in love
with another woman. 'And you'? he asks 'I'll never love again' she says. 'What
do you mean by that, who did you love'? he wonders. Serenata wonders what he's
going to do concerning Aida. Loreto jokes with Margarita and his mother calls
him on it and she tells her that she likes that he has a sense of humor. Blanca
asks for Fernando when Misael arrives and tells him he's doing better and that
Olga wants to talk to her. Aurelia swears at the General's picture that she'll
hurt Diego to make Virginia suffer. Olga gets on her knees and again asks
Blanca for gorgiveness. She tells her she does and to stay away from her
family. The Palacios don't understand why they were robbed and blame Tomas and
Paulino for their ineptness. Loreto and JG wonder who could be behind the
robbery. He tells him of Blanca's declining health and of Olga's closeness to
Misael that has him worried. Loreto tells him something else is wrong and he
admits it's Virginia but that he's going to let her live her life. Aida sees
Serenata outside her window and goes to talk to him. Raquela sees her as she
asks Serenata how he knew of her past. He denies knowing anything about her.
She tells him he reminds him of someone and he says he's a nobody and leaves.
Raquela confronts Aida. Misael tells Aurelia that Fernando has been released
and is at Virginia's. Fernando awakens and Virginia assures him they will get
married.

Fernando's happy with what Virginia just
told him: that nothing has changed and they're still getting married. The
Palacios talk to JG about the robbery when Rolando calls him inept while Arturo
gives him the benefit of the doubt but his brother quiets him. JG tells him
he'll look into their case. Days later, Diego tries to lighten Fernando's
spirit. He asks him if he wished he had an older brother and he tells him he
has his older sister Virginia and doesn't need anyone else. Clemencia tells
Blanca she's glad Olga hasn't come around. Clemencia tells her that she's so
forgiving it seems like she's from another world and Blanca tells her she soon will
be. Virginia is happy to see Fernando and Diego getting along. Aurelia
confronts Virginia and she tells her she's marrying Fernando and that the
priest and judge are on their way. Virginia admits that Fernando doesn't know
he's paralyzed. Aurelia insults her but she defends herself. She begs her not
to tell Fernando the truth. JG tells Misael he's giving the amount of the money
that was stolen to the Palacios as to not ruin their cause. Aurelia argues with
Fernando and being the hearltess woman that she is begins to humiliate him and
tells him Virginia feels sorry for him. JG tells Misael he's going to forget
Virginia and take care of his wife. He's surprised when Goyo tells them Olga
wants to see Misael. Olga tells Misael she realized she was wrong and that JG
isn't for her at least until Blanca dies. Aurelia insults her son and tells him
he's paralyzed and impotent. She tells him Virginia will one day want kids and
will find another man. She keeps insulting him and hurting him until she tells
him that Virginia loves JG and not him. Virginia begs Fr. Matias to marry her
and Fernando that same night. He's reluctant but listens to her reasons. Valdes
worries about Fernando when he sees Aurelia leave. Loreto asks Margarita to be
his girlfriend and that it will one day lead to marriage and she accepts.
Fernando tells Valdes that his mother told him something that hurt him
profoundly. Olga asks Misael about his life and then hugs him. Marisol asks
Patricio to be her escort. Blanca gets worse as she makes Clemencia promise not
to tell anyone she's about to die. The witch tells Matiana that they'll be no
wedding. Cristobal tells Aurelia not to back out of their plans. Fernando's
surprised when he sees Virginia arrive in a wedding dress with a judge and Fr.
Matias, Valdes and Diego. The ceremony begins as Virginia says I do but
Fernando says he doesn't. Virginia doesn't understand what happened as she
tells all present she needs to talk to Fernando. Diego's confused as Valdes
says it's Aurelia's doing. Cristobal tells Aurelia she's fighting against
Virginia and that she's going to lose. Fernando tells Virginia he doesn't want
to make her unhappy as JG tells Blanca she's brave and why didn't she tell him
she was feeling worse. Virginia keeps reaffirming to Fernando that they'll get
married.

Virginia tells Fernando they're getting
married. He tells her he has no right to ruin her life. She tries to insist but
he tells her it's useless and that he needs time to think things over. Before
she leaves she tells him she promised to be his wife and she will be.
Narrator: It's curious how tragedy attracts
and calls. In Virginia's home Fernando denies to marry Virginia in order not to
make her suffer and in the neighbor's house Blanca has started her decline to
her final stage. They're the four main characters of this story that became
intertwined from the day they met each other and now tragedy sorrounds them and
for one woman who is paying a high price for her evilness.
Aurelia swears at Virginia. In Villa del Rosario Loreto meets Soldead. She asks him about Fernando and tells him Aurelia must be so worried. Loreto asks her how she knew Fernando's mother was named Aurelia and if she ever lived in SFDLA. She covers and Margarita tells her that Virginia wants to take care of the Captain with Valdes' help. She becomes nervous when thay talk about him and wonders if she told Valdes her name. Fr. Matias asks Virginia if she thinks Aurelia told Frnando the truth and she assures him she did and Valdes agrees with her. The priest offers to talk to Fernando but Virginia tells him it will be in vain. Fernando thinks of his mother's words and says Virginia feels sorry for him as she asks God for strength. Gertrudis tells Aurelia the wedding didn't take place. Serenata tells Efren that a woman would tell him and a young girl about his childhood. He recalls that the young girl's name was Soledad and that they were raised like brother and sister. He can't recall anything else as Soledad recalls her childhood as well. Dante and Cristobal talk about their plans. The next morning Fernando apologizes to Virginia for his attitude and tells her he wants her to be single because if they marry she'll be miserable by his side. She tells him that with time he'll change his mind. Blanca locks herself in her room and writes a letter to JG and Marisol to be read after she dies. JG consoles Marisol and asks her for a favor: to come from her that she wants to celebrate her 15th birthday celebration with their 17th wedding anniversary on the same day. She realizes that her mother is going to die soon and agrees. Clemencia worries about Blanca locking the door and tells her if she does she couldn't reach her if something happens to her. She tells her of the letter and puts them in a box. Clemencia on her knees promises to do everything she wants. Olga lets it slip to Aurelia she knows that Fernando is Francisco's son. Valdes brings Fernando his lunch when JG arrives and congratulates them on their wedding. Virginia tells him they didn't get married. She leaves the men alone and JG offers Fernando a future and he admits that his mother told him the truth. Aurelia tells Olga not to repeat what she just heard or she'll lose her support and friendship. JG tells Fernando that he can recover with time and assures him he would never lie to him. He in return tells him that if he can't make Virginia happy because she's the only thing that matters, he'll leave town. The notary puts the letter in his safe. JG tells Virginia that he wants her to be happy and promises that he'll do everything in his power to help Fernando recover. She thanks him for his gesture and for forgetting their feelings and he tells her all he wants for her is to be happy. Marisol asks her mother if they can combine the celebrations and will ask Virginia to help her. Blanca agrees to her daughter's request. Virginia tells Fernando that JG and Misael will help him. He yells at her and tells her not to lie to her. Serenata sees Aida mailing a letter and he tries to retrieve it but is unable to. Fernando receives his new orders where his commanders decide to leave him at his post. His soldiers inform him that they are helping Virginia and JG build houses for the flood victims. Virginia visits Aurelia and offers her a truce and apologizes to her. Fernando thanks Olga for donating blood to save his life. Virginia offers Aurelia half her fortune if she allows Fernando to stay at her home and she tells her she'll think about it. Olga tells Fernando to stop feeling sorry for himself and that to her that means that he never loved Virginia and to never leave her unprotected and to fight for her. Aida visits with Blanca and she offers to sew Marisol's dress as her gift to her. Marisol talks to the Palacio kids but is saddened by her situation. Efren tells Fr. Matias that he 'stole' his daughter. Olga visits Blanca and reminds her she's Marisol's godmother. Clemencia tells her that Marisol being a teenager and all changed her mind and picked Virginia instead. Virginia tells Fernando of her visit with Aurelia. He tells her of Olga's visit and that she told him something that made him think. Blanca tells JG of Marisol's idea and he agrees not letting on that it was his idea. Cristobal sees Dante hiding the money he stole. JG asks Virginia to help him with the celebration but she denies to saying she has to take care of Fernando. He begs her telling her Blanca is near death.

quite an attitude as Aida is embarrased by her comments. Fernando puzzled when
Aurelia says they'll be more tragedy. Clemencia learns that Blanca's roses are
withering away and dying.
Narrator: What seems so far away arrives
faster than we might think. The day that follows tonight will be a special day
for everyone, but in particular for her, for Blanca, for poor Blanca.
She tells a sleeping JG that if he died

Blanca dies in JG's arms as Virginia cries. Clemencia tells

dead and hugs her as she cries. Misael informs everyone that the party's over
and announces that Blanca de la Fuente de Cruz passed away. Everyone's
saddenned but Olga smiles.
Narrator:That day that started with the
renewal of vows of Blanca and JG and Marisol's 15th birthday celebration was
destined to end a different way, all the happiness and smiles turned into great
pain, a pain that filtered through the inhabitants of San Francisco de los
Arenales like the water that filters through it's rocks treating them like it
was the most sour tears.
Marisol asks her father why she let her
have fun if her mother was dying and he tells her that it was what her mother
wanted. Marisol's destroyed as JG consoles her. Misael informs JG that he'll
take care of the funeral arrangements. Clemencia tells her she needs to change

procession begins with soldiers carrying Blanca's casket. Marisol seeks comfort
from Virginia as Serenata watches them go by. Dante decides to investigate his
resemblance to the General. Everyone gathers at the cemetary.
Narrator: There is a woman who has
something from God because of her intense love, a lot of angel for the care she
gives. For being strong, her heart breaks when she hears a child cry. A woman
when alive isn't appreciated because by her side all our pains go away. But
when we lose her forever we'll give everything we are and everything we have to
see her one more time even if it's for an instant, to receive one hug, to hear
one healing word, that woman is our mother.
Aurelia
complains to Cristobal about Virginia. Marisol confronts her father pretending
to be happy when her mother was dying and he tells her she asks him to do it.
Valdes and Fernando talk about how Blanca never complained about her pain and
Valdes tells him he should take that as a sign of hope. Diego arrives and asks
Fernando how he felt when his father died and Fernando wonders if only he knew
they were brothers. Marisol reads her mother's letter where she tells her she's
the best thing that ever happened to her. Marisol cries out to her mother as
she reads the letter and the rocking chair swings back and forth letting her
know she's there with her. JG reads the letter and it tells him that she's
going to ask him and Virginia to make a promise and thay have to keep it. She
leaves him a pendant with the Virgen Mary. Diego and Marisol talk about losing
their mothers. Aida worries about Marisol as Serenata is saddenned by Blanca's
death. Efren worries about Olga's motives towards JG now that he's a widower

Misael avoids Olga. Cristobal kees eyeing Margarita. Aida reads Edmundo's
letter. JG gets a visit from Marisol, Clemencia, Virginia and Diego. Marisol is

Narrator: Time, everything has to do with
time. It travels its course and no one can stop it. That's why everyone went on
with their lives despite the absence of JG which left a huge emptiness. Some
continue to fight for what they believe while others continue to abuse others
knowing their protector is absent. But then you have those with good hearts
willing to help others achieve their goals. Yet others argue what our tutor
taught us when misery and tyranny sorround us. Time, time is our executioner
but one thing that doesn't change is our emotions that continue in our interior
in all our stages of love, a lost love, a love condemned by destiny, a love
confused by passion and even that innocent love that surprises us and fills us
with illusion. Time, that accompanies us. Time that never abandons us like our
goals. Time allows us to ahieve them and come out winning but allows us to be
patient, to wait for the right time and not to hurry ourselves. Time, along
with preseverence allows us the goals we want and the promises we make. Time
has left it's print and has opened a new moment of hope. Time passes and no one
can stop it.

mind. She tells him she's not going to stop him and he kisses her goodbye.

can't tell Fernando the truth without hurting him. JG tells him he's sure
Virginia doesn't even know that she wants and that she doesn't realize she
loves Fernando. Valdes tells him it's impossible to be in love with two people

no conscious and blames Mercedes for her disgrace. Virginia tells her that the
General never married her because he never loved her, he loved Mercedes.
Virginia tells Aurelia that she now understands why she hates her so much; she

for her and tells her that no one not even the General loved her. Rolando
lights the dynamite when he sees Edmundo approaching and leaves. Patricio calls
out for his father but he doesn't hear him. Edmundo meets up with the young man

for more money and runs her off. Angelina tells Virginia that JG's looking for
Cristobal because he's the one who killed Marisol. JG visits his daughter's

for her. JG begs God to make him return to reality and that he feels all alone.

forgive and the priest tells him he needs to forgive himself first. Fernando
confronts Aurelia and tells her he's convinced she's guilty and breaks all ties
with her. She blames Virginia for all her problems and he tells her he's going
to catch Cristobal and will come looking for her because duty comes before
being her son. As he leaves he tells her he's ashamed of her. JG tells Virginia
he's changed his mind in getting revenge and that he owes it all to her.
Cristobal looks for Olga. JG tells Fernando he wants to help trap Cristobal and
both men vow to play clean and fight for Virginia's love. Virginia visits Fr.
Matias and tells him of her confusion of her feelings towards JG and Fernando.
She tells him the qualities of each man and Fr. Matias comes to the conclusion

The priest tells her not to sacrifice her happiness once again and she agrees
to tell both men that she's in love with her husband but has to talk to someone
first. Efren takes care of Olga. When he leaves Cristobal enters and is
horrified at how she looks. He tells her that Aurelia ordered her killed and
leaves her a mirror and a gun. Horrified at the way she looks Olga takes the
gun and kills herself with a helpless Efren witnessing his daughter's death.

won't be able to keep her promise. She admits that what she felt for JG was
passion and what she feels for Fernando is love and once again begs her friend
for forgiveness. Diego visits Clemencia. The men look for Cristobal as he
realizes Matiana robbed him of all his money. Aurelia arrives at Efren's crying
but he calls her a hypocrite. She calls him a nobody and he says he might be a
nobody but he never abandoned Olga like she did. Valdes asks Virginia for
permission to see Margarita and when he leaves she enters her office and is
horrified to see Cristobal holding a gun to Diego's head.

but in fact it was her that provoked it but that he forgives her. Virginia
writes a letter to Fernando that she feels so guilty that she's leaving town.

Edmundo she's leaving town and begs him not to tell anyone. She tells him she
blames herself for JG's death and that she can't remain in SFDLA. She tells him
she's tired and destroyed and can't take it anymore. Fernando tells Valdes that
he wished he would have died instead of JG. He tells him he hasn't talked to
Virginia but is sure she feels as guilty as he does. Virginia tells Diego they're
leaving town. He tells him he understands and only wants her to be happy and
that the inheritance doesn't matter to him. Loreto and Margarita hope Virginia
makes the right decision. Edmundo tells Fernando that Virginia is leaving town.
As Virginia and Diego get ready to leave Fernando arrives and tells her nothing
is going to separate them again. She tells him she doesn't want her happiness
to come from all that tragedy. He tells her he can't make her stay but wants to
know what is he going to do with his love. She tells him she can't leave him
and that she loves him as they kiss.
Time has passed. Valdes talks to the
General's portrait saying he had a mission that had to be played out and that
love conquered all. Edmundo comes across Aurelia who is asking for change and
says her punishment goes far beyond than what is happening to her.
Narrator: (Virginia and Fernando's Wedding)
Time has passed and with time all wounds have healed leaving the sadness and
pain behind. With each sunrise there's new hopes, some have gone and some have
yet to arrive. We will never forget what we loved; it's a memory that will
always be in our hearts. Though some moments will accompany us as melancholy
they're will always be motives to smile. Little details will always be sufficient
so our souls will always continue forward. (Everyone cheers for the couple).
Until this day you can breath the air of happiness in SFDLA because the grand
day that grand day has finally arrived. (The crowd demands a kiss from the
couple as their friends accompany them). The whole town has been a witness to
the triumph of love over the adversities. The Virgin Bride who arrives one
night accompanying the body of General Ortiz is now a happy wife on the arm her
husband. It's like I told you when this story began, no one told me this story.
I lived it and I lived it with intensity and everytime I recall it I'm filled
with melancholy.
EVERYTHING BEGAN THAT AFTERNOON WITH A
TRAIN ADVANCING THROUGH THE MOUNTAIN LIKE A GIANT WORM.
