Siempre, desde que el hombre es hombre nos hemos preguntado en repetidas
ocasiones ¿qué es el amor?, y esta pregunta ha hecho que escribamos, pintemos,
esculpamos y lo más importante que amemos sin cesar. A través de los ojos de una mujer de este siglo, comprometida con
ella misma, con sus sueños e inquietudes, con sus temores y con sus
certidumbres, podemos llegar a despejar esta interrogante mirando desde su
circunstancia el mundo de hoy. Tania Lomelí ha luchado siempre por llegar hasta
donde se encuentra. A pesar de vivir en una sociedad donde impera todavía el
llamado: "Reino de los Hombres", Tania se ha abierto camino con esa
inteligencia y con ese esfuerzo indómito que la caracteriza, en un mundo que no
acepta que las mujeres triunfen por encima de los hombres. Esta historia inicia
cuando Tania Lomelí es nombrada Secretaria General de La Bolsa de Valores y
tiene que enfrentarse a esa tarea que parece imposible, de ganarse el respeto y
la confianza de los ejecutivos a los que tendrá que guiar y con los que tendrá
que trabajar, pero todo se torna distinto, cuando entre los corredores de bolsa
se encuentra con Román Castellanos y surge entonces una atracción inmediata
entre los dos jóvenes ejecutivos. Al encontrarse los protagonistas comienza la
historia de amor entre una mujer y un hombre acostumbrados a triunfar en todos
los aspectos de su vida, llegando también a triunfar, a pesar de los obstáculos
que se interpondrán entre ellos, en la batalla más importante de todas: la
batalla del amor. Tania y Román entenderán que amarse vale la pena a pesar de
que este amor, los torne vulnerables ante los demás y ante ellos mismos. Esta
historia de amor, de encuentros y desencuentros, comienza cuando a Román
Castellanos le es asignada la cuenta del más importante inversionista de la
Bolsa: la de Don Emiliano Lomelí, conocido en el argot empresarial como
"El Tiburón", quien además de ser un importante hombre de negocios es
ni más ni menos que el padre de Tania. Emiliano Lomelí, al sospechar que su
única hija está enamorada de su corredor de bolsa, utilizará su poder y su
inteligencia para tratar de separarlos, pero a pesar de todos los intentos del
"Tiburón", el amor que se tienen Tania y Román triunfará sobre la
ambición y el poder. Además, aparecerá para interponerse entre Tania y Román:
Tomás, un ambicioso corredor de bolsa que ha aspirado siempre a tener la cuenta
del "Tiburón" y que impulsado por su avaricia tratará de apoderarse
no solo del dinero de la familia Lomelí, sino de la propia Tania, valiéndose de
engaños y juegos sucios para alejar a Román de la vida de Tania y para
descalificarlo ante el poderoso magnate. Por otro lado, dos mujeres muy
distintas, pero que a fin de cuentas sufren por el mismo motivo, son Jacqueline
Lomelí y Abril Castellanos, madres de Tania y Román respectivamente. De la mano
de Tania, estas y otras mujeres que aparecerán en Lo Que es el Amor podremos
vislumbrar a la mujer contemporánea que luchará por amor, sin importar las
consecuencias que pueda causar esta "rebeldía" ante los hombres.
Estos dos mundos aparentemente tan distintos, son complementarios y
entenderemos que tanto los hombres como las mujeres son contrapartes que serán
atraídos como los polos opuestos que hemos sido y que seremos. Es así como
comprenderemos y llegaremos hasta los más íntimos rincones del alma de nuestros
personajes, para revelar lo que cada uno busca sin saberlo: la respuesta que
los llevará a darse cuenta, a luchar y ser felices, al descubrir precisamente

Diario de Yucatan, 6/24/01: Tania Lomelí es designada secretaria general de la
Bolsa de Valores. Para ella el nuevo mundo de las altas esferas financieras
representa una tarea muy difícil, pues tendrá que ganarse el respeto y la
confianza de los ejecutivos. La joven conoce a Ramón Castellanos, el ejecutivo
estrella y mejor corredor de bolsa que tiene a su cargo la cuenta de “El
Tiburón ”, como se le conoce a don Emilo Lomellí, padre de Tania. Ella y Román
se atraen desde el primer momento, pero se enfrentan a muchas envidias,
egoísmos y traiciones. Tienen que lidiar con Tomás Cantú, enemigo número uno de
Román, que ambiciona quedarse con la cuenta de don Emilio y con toda su
fortuna. Tomás, otro ejecutivo, está casado con Anabel Cantú. Ella tiene como
confidente a Alejandra Palacios, otra ejecutiva que lucha por demostrar que las
mujeres son capaces. Edson Durán es un homosexual que a pesar de sus 40 años y
de encontrarse solo, no se da por vencido, ni pierde el buen humor. Edson es un
hombre encantador y su experiencia en la vida lo convierte en el mejor amigo de
Tania y su guía amoroso.—

Valores. Para ella el mundo de las finanzas es una tarea que parece imposible.
Ahí conoce a Román Castellanos, el ejecutivo estrella y el mejor corredor de
bolsa. Ella y Román se atraen desde el primer momento, pero enfrentarán muchas
envidias, egoísmos y traiciones. Tomás, otro ejecutivo, está casado con Anabel
Cantú. Ella tiene como confidente a Alejandra Palacios, otra ejecutiva que
lucha por demostrar que las mujeres son más capaces que ellos. Kuri Habib
también trabaja en la Casa de Bolsa, es el típico chico que obtiene las cosas a
como dé lugar.

para conquistar el amor de Tania. Fausto, por otra parte, cree que a sus 50
años ya es un viejo, sabe que por sus problemas de salud lo correrán de la Casa
de Bolsa y se quedará sin nada porque su trabajo ha representado toda su vida.
Kuri Habib también trabaja en la Casa de Bolsa, es el típico chico que obtiene
las cosas a como dé lugar sin importar a quien pise. Aparentemente su vida es
ideal, es un profesional triunfador pero inestable emocionalmente. Edson Durán
es un homosexual que a pesar de sus 40 años y de encontrarse solo, no se da por
vencido ni pierde el buen humor. Edson es un hombre encantador y su experiencia
en la vida lo convierte en el mejor amigo de Tania y su guía amoroso. Tadeo
Márquez vive buscando el amor pero a pesar de ser todo un caballero, no ha
logrado que lo tomen en serio
USA 2/25/02-3/1/02. missed the first episode. Tania has been named Secretary General. Román and she argue with her father about a potential deal. Alex teases him about being in love with Tania. Román finds his mother very happy and guesses she is in love with another young man; his name is Franco. At a bar, Román and Alex, his friend, see Tania and Edson together. Edson teases Tania about her feelings for Román. Tania asks her mother how she can support all her father’s lovers; he even brings them to the house, tells her that plastic surgery isn’t the answer: her father doesn’t want a 50-year-old woman who looks 45 but a 25-year-old. And, indeed, his current lover is Sofia, a very young woman. Tania’s father tells her mother that he hopes there is nothing between Tania and Román because he would have to destroy him if there were. Gloria gives her husband Fausto a birthday present; Román and Alex attend the small celebration. Tania’s mother warns her that her father will oppose a relationship with Román; she denies there is anything. Tania says that Román is expecting a child and her mother tells her father she would never have anything to do with such a man. He isn’t so sure and swears he will kill Román if necessary. When Alex sees the bruise on Anabella’s face, she knows it was Hugo, admits a similar experience in her past; Anabella continues to denie it was anything but an accident. After his birthday, Fausto has his wife dye his hair. At work the next day, he confronts the laughs. Henry visits Edson at his store but Edson refuses to forgive him his betrayal after 4 years together. Just then Alex arrives and while shopping both, unknown to each other, seek information about Tania and Román. Edson learns that she isn’t his novia and isn’t pregnant. Tomás, the abusive husband of Anabella and father of their child, supuesto amigo de Román, makes an appointment with Emiliano, tells him he has the wrong stockbroker, gives hin additional and contradictory information, in answer to an oblique query says that Román is a known womanizer. Emiliano seems impressed by his brashness, relieved by the news about Román. Román tells his mother to drop her newest lover, is only after her money (even though they aren’t rich). Tomás gets into a fight with two young men who cut in on him while waiting at a pharmacy, goes to Román’s for help, clearly doesn’t seem to know what is happening to him. Román invites Tania to lunch; she refuses. Then Edson tells her that Román isn’t going to be a father and she repents. Alex tells Román that Edson is not her novio, is, indeed, gay. Alex and Román then run into her and Edson.

Tomás observa cuando golpean a Román. Edson pregunta a Tania si sale con Román
porque le gusta o por fastidiar a su papá. Los amigos de Román le prometen
guardar el secreto de su amorío con Tania, pero Tomás le advierte que están
prohibidas la relaciones entre empleados. Mientras, sin decir de quien se
trata, Kuri presume que pasó la noche con la dueña de una fabrica de muebles.
Gloria ve cuando Cristian saca dinero de su cartera. Tomás abofetea a Anabel porque no cree que le haya llamado un
hombre para una cita de trabajo.—

cuando golpean a Román y le dicen ir de parte de Lomelí. Edson pregunta a Tania
si sale con Román porque le gusta o por fastidiar a su papá. Los amigos de
Román prometen guardar el secreto de su romance, pero Tomás le advierte que
están prohibidas las relaciones entre empleados. Kuri presume haber pasado la
noche con la dueña de una fábrica de muebles. Gloria ve cuando Cristian le saca
dinero de su cartera. Tomás chantajea a Anabel porque no cree que haya llamado
a un hombre para una cita de trabajo. Román cancela a Tania la cita que tenían.
Abril confiesa que Franco la defraudó. Don Emilio reclama a Tania las flores
que le enviaron y ella le reprocha la golpiza que dieron a Román.

7/01/01: TV Azteca, 7/2-6/01: Escondido,
Tomás ve cuando golpean a Román y le dicen ir de parte de Lomelí. Edson le
pregunta a Tania sin sale con Román porque le gusta o por fastidiar a su papá.
Los amigos de Román le prometen guardar el secreto de su romance con Tania pero
Tomás le advierte que están prohibida las relaciones entre empleados. Mientras,
sin decir de quién se trata, Kuri presume haber pasado la noche con la dueña de
una fábrica de muebles. Gloria ve cuando Cristian le saca dinero de su cartera.
Tomás cachetea a Anabel porque no cree que le haya llamado un hombre para una
cita de trabajo. Román le cancela a Tania la cita que tenían y Edson le
pregunta a ésta si cree que fue por la golpiza que le mandó dar su padre. Abril
le confiesa a Román que Franco la defraudó, él la convence de ir a levantar un
acta pero ella se apena al enterarlo de que el tipo la enamoró para robarle.
Don Emilio le reclama a Tania las flores que le enviaron y ella le reprocha la
golpiza que le dieron a Román pero él le asegura que no tuvo nada que ver.
Isela no encuentra a Kuri y le deja mensajes amenazadores en su contestadora.
Todos esperan a Julieta y a Pablo para celebrar su primer día en la Casa de
Bolsa cuando Román recibe una llamada telefónica en donde le avisan que ellos
tuvieron un accidente y Julieta se encuentra grave. Julieta muere y Pablo jura
que nunca dejará que los abuelos se lleven a sus hijos. Lomelí le advierte a
Román de que si quiere manejar su cuenta tiene que separarse de Tania. Todos
los amigos de Pablo hacen un pacto para ayudarlo a cuidar a sus hijos. Román ve
a Tania con otro hombre y él se pone celoso. Mientras, Jackie y Edson convencen
a Tania para que aclare el malentendido con Román. Emilio Lomelí autoriza a
Román que comience a manejar su cuenta, al enterarse Tomás, entiende que ya
dejó a Tania. Kuri, Román y Alex no entienden cómo Tomás se enteró de la
golpiza, coinciden en que quiere quedarse con la cuenta del "Tiburón"
Román acepta la explicación de Tania, no muy convencido, pero se reconcilian.
Pablo lleva a su hija al trabajo porque no llega la nana y Tania pone a Edson a
cuidarla. Tomás pelea de nuevo con Anabel y la golpea otra vez. Kuri le exige a
Isela que lo deje en paz y ella le reclama que utilice a las mujeres como
basura. Después, Alex la sigue y descubre que es sólo una empleada de la
mueblería.
USA 3/4-8/02. Tania and Ramón start dating. Later the two sets of friends (Alex and Ramón, Edson and Tania) took about the relationship. Emiliano has men beat up Ramón. Franco steals from Ramón’s mother Abril. He insists that she go to the police and has to cancel a date with Tania. She doesn’t believe his excuse at first but later they talk and he tells her the whole story. Tania accuses her father of having Román beaten up, he denies it. Then he tells his wife he is going to take Tania on a vacation, places a call to Romárn. Román tells Tania about the meeting which worries her. Cristian steals from _______. Tomás hits Anabella again after he hears her talking on the phone to a man, an old friend of the family. Later, he finds the man and threatens him. Anabella calls Alex but when they meet she insists that it was her fault. When, later, Alex asks Tomás about the bruise on Anabella’s face, he lies and warns her to stay away from his wife. Pablo’s wife Julieta dies in an accident. Román arrives late to his meeting with Emiliano and is told to call the next time he is late. Emiliano assures him that if he had sent the attackers, Román wouldn’t be there, tells him that the person who handles his finances must not be involved with his family. Román tells Curi(?) who says money is more important than love. For some reason, both Román and Tania make excuses for not seeing each other that night, then they see each other later (Tania with Edson, Román with Alex). Both feel deceived and Román won’t listen to Tania’s explanation. After Román accepts an order from Emiliano, tells his wife that Román accepted his proposition: his business or his wife. A furious Tomás calls Emiliano but he hangs up on him. Román suspects Tomás and asks his friends to watch him. Curi? tells his co-workers he has a problem: he slept with the wife of a client and now she constantly calls him and will transfer her stocks to the company if he is assigned to her. Alex convinces Román to talk to Tania. He goes to her apartment, explanations are given and accepted. He tells her he wants to spend the rest of his life with her.
Emiliano gives a commission check to Román, for more than the usual commission. Tania tells him not to stop working for her father. When Tomás discovers that flowers that Juan Carlos sent to Anabella, he hits her. She leaves the house. Fausto has an episode of impotence that leads him to a “dance”/prostitution bar where his son Cristian discovers him. Alex discovers that Isela, the woman who is pursuing him, does not own a business, is merely an employee in trouble for being late. When she calls his apartment, Alex answers, says she is his novia, knows about his flings with old women, doesn’t care, tells her to get lost. Then, unplanned, she and Curi kissed. He is trouble by his reaction. She leaves. At work, Tania takes care of Pablo’s daughter Andrea.

Diario de Yucatan, 07/08/01:Cristian
pide a Molina que le dé trabajo en la banda de robacoches. Pablo pide ayuda a su familia y comenta que
los padres de Julieta le quieren quitar a sus hijos, pues lo creen incapaz de
cuidarlos. Tomás le cuenta a don Emilio Lomelí que su hija tiene un idilio con
Román, quien, furioso, le dice que haga algo inteligente para separarlos.
Fausto le confiesa a Gloria que se siente acabado. En plan de fiesta, todos van
al bar, ahí Edson se encuentra con su ex novio y le pide ayuda a Tania. Al salir del bar los espera un grupo de
jóvenes y comienzan a pelear. Pablo llega a su casa golpeado y se encuentra con
su suegra, quien le echa en cara su desatención con los niños y le exige que se
los entregue. Kuri se hace al
interesante y le dice a Maggy que no se enamore de él. Mientras, por consejos
de Tania, Maggy propicia los celos de Kuri al coqueter con su antiguo
novio. Emilio Lomelí es secuestrado al
salir de la casa de Sofía, su amante.—
El Imparcial, 7/08/01: El Norte, 7/08/01: terra.com.mx, infosel.com. 7/8/01:
Cristian le pide a Molina que le dé trabajo dentro de la banda de roba coches.
Pablo le pide ayuda a su familia y les comenta que los padres de Julieta le
quieren quitar a sus hijos, pues lo creen incapaz de cuidarlos. Tomás le cuenta
a Don Emilio Lomelí que su hija tiene un romance con Román, éste, furioso, le
dice que haga algo inteligente para separarlos. Fausto le confiesa a Gloria que
se siente acabado. En plan de fiesta, todos van a un bar, ahí, Edson se
encuentra a su ex novio y le dice a Tania que lo ayude a vengarse. Tania trata
de convencer a Román, pero a la salida los espera una sorpresa. Al salir del
bar, los esperan un grupo de jóvenes y comienzan a pelear. Pablo llega a su
casa golpeado y se encuentra con su suegra, ésta, al verlo, le hecha en cara su
desatención para con los niños y le exige que se los entregue. Kuri se hace el
interesante y le dice a Maggy que no se enamore de él, pero en el fondo ella le
encanta. Mientras, por consejos de Tania, ésta provoca los celos de Kuri
coqueteando con su antiguo novio. Emilio Lomelí es secuestrado al salir de la
casa de Sofía, su amante. Isela ve a
Alex con Kuri y patea el coche de ella. Román presenta a Carolina con Tania,
ésta se enoja porque no la presentó como su novia. Los secuestradores se ponen
en contacto con Jackie Lomelí y la amenazan con matarlo si avisa a la Policía.
Mientras, Don Emilio enfrenta a los secuestradores y cuál es su sorpresa al
enterarse de que el líder de la banda es Sofía. Sofía le confiesa a Lomelí que no está dispuesta a esperar a que
se divorcie y está cobrando lo que le corresponde. A solas, Lomelí convence a
Nacho y a Raúl, los secuestradores, para que lo dejen escapar. Anabel acepta
dejar su trabajo con la condición de que Tomás acuda a una terapia sicológica,
pero él la engaña. Kuri abraza a Maggy consolándola por lo que le hizo Isela a
su carro. Román los ve y deduce que se gustan. Lomelí finge miedo ante su
esposa cuando ésta entrega el dinero del rescate y regresan a casa. Nacho y
Raúl matan a Sofía por órdenes de Lomelí. Lomelí le da un costoso regalo a
Jackie, ella cree que lo cambió el secuestro, pero después lo escucha hablar
con una joven de nombre Lisset. Lomelí hace un movimiento financiero para
fastidiar a Román y a Tomás le asegura que lo tiene acabado. Tania se entera y
le dice a su padre que pagará la cuenta, renunciará a su trabajo y que en nueve
meses lo hará abuelo. Román le entrega la cuenta a Lomelí y éste lo amenaza de
que si insiste en seguir con su hija, se atendrá a las consecuencias.
USA 3/11-15/02. Sofia, tired of waiting for Emiliano to get a divorce, has Emiliano kidnapped. After he discovers she is behind it, he makes a better deal with the kidnappers, has his wife provide a ransom, arranges for the beating and killing Sofia. Then he frames Ramón, pretends to place an order then, after it is placed, denies he authorized it. Jackie, his wife, heard the telecon but won’t help. Tania knows what her father did, and he admits it directly to Román, but Román tells Tania not to get involved.

Diario de Yucatan, 07/15/01: Tomás
invita a Anabel a celebrar, pues le dieron la cuenta de don Emilio Lomelí.
Tadeo convence a Abril para que cenen juntos. Kuri pide a Alex que lo acompañe
a ponerle un alto a Isela. Cuando van a verla, Alex leexige que lo deje en paz.
Isela, celosa, se hace una herida en la cabeza y levanta una denuncia diciendo
que su novio la golpeó. Abril yJackie siguen a Emilio Lomelí y lo descubren con
Lissette. Molina advierte a Cristian que no puede dejar la banda y le da a
guardar dos pistolas. Cuando Román y Tania están juntos en casa de él,habla
Catalina por teléfono y le dice que aún lo ama. Nora reclama a Pablo que deje a
sus hijos al cuidado de Edson y le da a entender que son amantes. Kuri confiesa
a Alex que la ama.Abril, Edson y Jackie se organizan para conseguir pruebas de
la infidelidad de Lomelí y así pagarle con la misma moneda. Hacen un plan
yEdson hace llamadas misteriosas y envía flores sin tarjeta, con lo que logra
inquietar a Emilio. El asesinato de Sofía se publica en losperiódicos; Emilio
no se sorprende con la noticia pero Jackie relaciona la fecha con el secuestro
de él.—
El Imparcial, 7/15/01: El Norte, 7/15/01: TV Azteca,
7/16-20/01: Tomás invita a Anabel a celebrar porque le dieron la cuenta de
Don Emilio Lomelí. Tadeo convence a Abril para que cenen juntos. Kuri le pide a
Maggy que lo acompañe a ponerle un alto a Isela, cuando van a verla, éste le
exige que lo deje en paz. Esta, celosa, se provoca una herida en la cabeza y
levanta una denuncia alegando que su novio la golpeó. Abril y Jackie siguen a
Emilio Lomelí y lo descubren con Lissette. Molina le advierte a Cristian que no
puede dejar la banda y le da a guardar dos pistolas. Cuando Román y Tania están
juntos en la casa de él, habla Catalina por teléfono y le dice que aún lo
ama. Nora le reclama a Pablo que deje a
sus hijos al cuidado de Edson y le da a entender que son amantes. Kuri le confiesa
a Maggy que la ama. Abril, Edson y Jackie se organizan para conseguir pruebas
de la infidelidad de Lomelí y así, pagarle con la misma moneda. Los tres hacen
un plan y Edson queda de hacer llamadas misteriosas y envía flores a Jackie sin
tarjeta logrando inquietar a Emilio. El asesinato de Sofía se publica en el
periódico, Emilio no se sorprende por la noticia pero Jackie relaciona la fecha
con el secuestro de él. Jackie le dice
a Edson que cree que a lo mejor Lomelí mandó a matar a Sofía. A éste le da
miedo y cancela el plan. Abril aconseja a Catalina de que olvide a Román pues
ya está enamorado de otra. Kuri le confiesa a Román que ama a Maggy y jura no
serle infiel. La judicial detiene a Cristian con la banda de Molina. Gloria
descubre que Cristian no durmió en la casa y desconoce que él se encuentra en
los separos de la delegación. Maggy y Román ven a Kuri coqueteando con otra
corredora y éste no se da cuenta de que también Isela lo está vigilando. Isela,
celosa, difunde el chisme de que Kuri es impotente con las mujeres pero con los
hombres no. Tadeo les confiesa a sus amigos que está enamorado de Abril.
González se acerca a Maggy y Kuri los interrumpe diciéndole a ella que la
espera en su casa. Tania le aconseja a Maggy que le dé una lección a Kuri y no
lo visite en la noche, pero ésta no hace caso del consejo. Catalina compromete
a Román de ir a cenar a su casa, Maggy le sugiere que le diga la verdad a Tania
pero él no se atreve. Más tarde, Tania se encuentra en casa de Román cuando
llega Catalina y le agradece su invitación a cenar.
USA 3/18-22/02. Gisella maims herself, fires charges agains Curi. Catalina calls Román while he is in bed with Tania and they both listen to her loving message on the answering machine. Pablo’s suegra Nora arrives while Edson is caring for his son and assumes the worst, calls her husband Miguel and tells him to hire a lawyer to get custody of the children. Edson and Román’s mother talk with Tania’s mother Jackie on how to determine if Emiliano is cheating on her or with whom (a schedule,etc.). Edson warns Jackie when he discovers that Emiliano’s most recent lover was killed. All the men go on a camping trip. Tania arrives, as a surprise.
Back in the office, Román warns Alex not to fall in love with Kuri but she tells him it is too late. Román, reluctantly, agrees to have dinner with Catalina who tells him that she realizes she has never stopped loving him. Tania becomes jealous. Tadeo admits to Pablo that he loves Abril, la madre de Román. Jackie continues to keep her notebook and Edson displays an ability to check up Emiliano’s supposed whereabouts. Jackie still isn’t sure what she will be able to do with all the information, but Abril assures her it will dome in handy during divorce proceedings. Cristian is arrested. Gisella sees Kuri flirting with two women by the elevator; after he leaves, she joins the pair, comments that he isn’t “very good” with women, but maybe with men....
Fausto has a heart attack when he learns that Cristian is in jail for theft. Cristian gets out. Catalina tells Román he is the father of her child. He doesn’t believe her, warns her to stay away from Tania. Jackie confronts Emiliano with her diary entries and proof that he wasn’t where he said he would be, with the photos she took. He tries to deny everything, but she tells him to leave. He is sure the photos were Román’s idea (not knowing about Edson and Abril) and promises revenge. Tadeo tells Román of his feelings for Abril while their friends listen from another room. When Román realizes the feelings are not those of friendship, he hits Tadeo and the friends have to break up the fight.

cárcel. Jackie, Abril y Edson siguen a
Emilio y le toman fotos con Lissete. Jackie lo encara y le reclama su engaño.

Ella lo saca de su casa y lo amenaza con quitarle todo su dinero. Román escucha
la confesión de Tadeo, quien le dice que ama a Abril, su madre. Tania dice a Román que recapacite por lo mal
que se portó con Tadeo, pero él le dice que no quiere que su madre sufra. Más
tarde, Román le pide perdón a Tadeo, pero le advierte que no está de acuerdo
con esa relación. Cristian visita a su papá en el hospital, cree que está
dormido y, arrepentido, le pide perdón y le promete cambiar. Lomelí golpea
Román pues cree que fue él quien le contó a Jackie de su infidelidad. Isela
engaña a Kuri al decirle que lo contagió de Sida. Román conoce al hijo de Catalina y lo encuentra muy parecido a
él, además lleva su nombre. Un
trabajador social visita a Pablo y se entera que su suegra pide la custodia de
sus hijos. Los análisis de Sida salen negativos y Kuri avisa a Isela, quien se
burla de él. Román y Tania se
reconcilian pero Kuri dice a Alex que no puede ser fiel y terminan su

informa que se va de viaje con Lisette por un mes y que a su regreso serán una
familia. Román aconseja a Kuri de que se realice la prueba del SIDA pero como
todos han compartido conquistas deciden acompañarlo. Cuando Gloria les está
practicando la prueba Tomás escucha cuando Román le pregunta a ella si puede
hacerle una prueba de ADN. Jorge el "Predicador" aconseja a Fausto
para que se reconcilie con Cristian. A Pablo lo visita un Trabajador Social y
se entera de que Nora, su suegra, le pide la custodia de sus hijos. Los
análisis de SIDA salen negativos y Kuri le avisa a Isela, ésta se burla de él.
Román y Tania se reconcilian pero Kuri le dice a Alex que no puede ser fiel y
terminan. Cristian le confiesa a Fausto que es un ladrón, que quiere cambiar
pero el jefe de la banda no lo deja en paz. Todos se encuentran festejando en
el bar e inesperadamente Tomás saca del lugar a Anabel y la cachetea, ella
regresa y enfrente de todos le grita que será la última vez que la toque. Román
la defiende pero Tomás no lo escucha. Este va a su casa y saca las cosas de su
esposa a la calle. Gloria y Alex le dan alojo a Anabel. Kuri extraña a Alex
mientras Tania invita a cenar a Román ahí ella le pide matrimonio.
USA 3/25-29/02. Román apologizes to Tadeo but is still worried about him and his mother. Edson tells Abril she needs to fall in love with herself, to understand her value. Cristian goes to the hospital, prays for a father, meets a man whose son died years before and who comes to help others, tells his father he loves him and will change. Fausto wakes up and puts a hand on Cristian’s head. Emiliano arrives at Román’s apartment and threatens him with a gun. Tania is there and barely raises an eyebrow at either the threat or the gun. Abril tells Tadeo that she appreciates his love but she is too old to risk the disappointment that must come. Kuri agrees to meet Gisella who tells him that she is HIV positive.
All the friends decide to get tested and argue about who should go first. Kuri doesn’t tell Alex what is going on. Emiliano and Tania talk; he says they are alike and would make a good team. Gloria tells Fausto to give up his job or she will leave him; she can’t go through this again. Fausto tells his friend he is going to resign.
All the men test negative. Kuri tells Gisella who, after a while, admits it was all a lie. She doesn’t have AIDs. Esteban tries to clear up the romantic confusion and doubt between Tania and Román, Kuri and Alex.
At a restaurant,
Tomás gets into another fight with his wife and hits her. This time, she
returns to the main room and confronts him in front of his friends. They tell
him to leave but, quite frankly, aren’t more than mildly condemining. However,
when Edson learns what happened, he confronts Tomás and hits him. Tania proposes to Román.

ellos son los meseros. Mientras, Tomás le informa a Don Emilio que Román tiene
un hijo con Carolina.
USA 4/1-5/02. Anabella tells
Tomás she has joined a self-help group and he needs help. He apologizes for his
behavior but denies that he needs help. Cristian watches over them. Fausto
returns home from the hospital but, unknown to his wife, continues to conduct
business via his cell phone and by passing orders to Tadeo. When Tania tells
Román she is feeling bad because she is “late”, he automatically assumes she is
pregnant, tells all his friends, his mother, etc. Román helps Edson by babysitting for Pablo’s children but runs
into trouble when he must change diapers and calls Tania for help. Tomás greets
a woman and a child on the street; she begs him not to hurt her. Román tells
Tania that Tadeo’s date, Angela, flirted with him. Angela tells Tadeo the
reverse. Román doesn’t know if he should tell Tadeo or not. Clarita tells Tadeo
she is disappointed in him when she finds a bra on his floor. Fausto and his
wife watch Tomás talking to Anabella. Fausto is confident that Tomás is sorry and
will change. Tomás tells his wife he knows he needs help. However, when she
refuses to return home until after he undergoes therapy, he turns cold, tells
her he doesn’t need her. She pleads her love, is sure they can save their
marriage. But he tells her he has other plans and their son will stay with him.
When he goes home, he tells his son that his mother doesn’t love them and has
left.

Catalina.
USA 4/8-12/02. Emiliano seduces his wife with a serenade. They reconcile. He explains that the kidnapping was arranged by a woman he was trying to reject, lies about the rest of it. Anabella returns home but pulls out a knife when Tomás tries to make love to her. Tania talks to Catalina after learning that her son is Román’s, learns that she left him without telling him about the baby, but says she can’t separate a man from his child. She breaks up with Román, tells her mother that her father was right. Tadeo tells everybody he is going to marry Angela. When Román tells him how Angela flirted with him on that first date, Tadeo doesn’t believe him, hits him.
Tomás meets Tania in a bar, pretends to fear that he will lose his family because of his temper, flirts with her, etc. Pablo is falling in love with ______. Román and Catalina talk about their child. Catalina kisses him, asks for a chance to win him back, is sure they can recover the past. Anabella leaves Tomás and takes refuge with Fausto. When Tomás finds her gone, she goes to Fausto’s house, punches him in the stomach when he refuses to let him see Anabella. Fausto’s wife enters the room and points a gun at Tomás. Fausto takes the gun, again tells Tomás to leave and, finally, he does. Henry calls Esteban. Esteban tells him that his is in love with a wonderful man, Carlos. Esteban tells Jackie about his love and his fear: Carlos is dying of cancer. Tania, at home, listens to a message from Román in which he declares his love for her. Then Tania calls Tomás, who has just gotten back from Fausto’s, for comfort. He smiles. The men who got Cristian out of jail tell him it is time to pay up: they have a job for him. s

enfurece, quiere golpearla, pero ella se le enfrenta y le advierte que no
permitirá que la toque. Angela apapacha
a Tadeo, él se emociona y le pide matrimonio. En el momento en que Adriana le
pregunta a Pablo si su relación tiene futuro, Sebastián pega de gritos y dice
que odia a Adriana. Alex lleva a Tania con Catalina. Carlos invita a Edson a su casa. Catalina explica a Tania que
ella abandonó a Román cuando supo que estaba embarazada, pero que él tiene un
hijo. Tadeo avisa a sus amigos que se casará con Angela; sólo Clarita, Alex y
Pablo lo felicitan, mientras Román le insinúa que Angela sólo lo hizo por
coquetear.—

8/5/01: Con la revelación de Emilio,
Tania comprende por qué Román se negó a casarse, cuando ella lo ve, se comporta
agresiva, discute por la situación entre Ángela y Tadeo y no entiende por qué.
Jackie llega de trabajar y se encuentra a Emilio en su casa, éste le dice que
Lisette no es importante en su vida. Cristian de enoja con Fausto al enterarse
de que irá a ayudar a sus amigos para pelearse con la banda de González.
Mientras, Alex le dice a Abril que su estrategia de conquistar a Kuri no dio
resultado. Tania le pide a Alex que la presente con Catalina. Román le dice a
Alex que se pelearon por ella, ella se pone feliz y sale en busca de Kuri. Él
le pide que no se ilusione pero que no vuelva a ver a González. Anabel cura a
Tomás, él jura que la ama pero ella no está segura y decide dormir con su hijo
Nicolás y Tomás enfurece, quiere golpearla pero ella se le enfrenta y le
advierte que no lo volverá a permitir. Ángela apapacha a Tadeo, él se emociona
y le pide matrimonio. En el momento en que Adriana le pregunta a Pablo si su
relación tiene futuro, su hijo Sebastián, pega de gritos diciendo que la odia.
Alex lleva a Tania con Catalina. Carlos invita a Edson a su casa. Catalina le
explica a Tania que ella abandonó a Román cuando supo que estaba embarazada
pero que él tiene un hijo. Tadeo les avisa a sus amigos que se casará con
Ángela, sólo Clarita, Alex y Pablo lo felicitan mientras Román le insinúa que
Ángela sólo lo hizo por coquetear. Tadeo se enoja y ambos pelean. Tania le
cuenta a Román que ya conoció a su hijo pero como a él no le interesa comprobar
que es suyo, terminan para siempre. Kuri inventa que muere de amor por Isela,
González lo escucha y cae en la trampa. Después, éste quiere matar a Kuri, pues
no se quita a Isela de encima. Anabel tiene una junta con varias mujeres que
sufren por hombres golpeadores, llega Tomás y las corre y le prohíbe volver a
verlas pero ella le dice que ya no le tiene miedo. Tania le reclama a Emilio el
estar feliz por su rompimiento pero en realidad sufre al verla muy dolida.
Román le pide a Catalina que hablen de su hijo. Adriana le explica,
amorosamente, a Pablo por qué Sebastián se comporta celoso con ella. Kuri
invita a cenar a Alex con la propuesta de una noche especial, ella es la única

su esposa, ella se encierra, y él le vuelve a gritar que si se lleva a su hijo
la matará. Más tarde, Tomás se encuentra a Tania sola, éste se hace la víctima
y le cuenta que Anabel es una mujer mala, ella se conmueve y acepta un abrazo.
Mientras, Catalina sugiere a Román que intenten rehacer su amor y lo besa.
USA 4/15-19/02. Emiliano asks Jackie why she is still married to him; she answers that for a while she thought it was because she didn’t want to lose her position but now knows it is because she loves him. Edson finds his apartment destroyed and tells Jackie it must have been done by Tomás (which it was). Tadeo and Angela plan their wedding, though their parents won’t come. In the office, Tomás apologizes to Fausto who accepts the apology and then talks to Tania about his plans. Clarita gets a promotion and introduces her new assistant Rosa. Tomás goes to Catalina’s apartment for her help in separating Tania and Román; when she threatens to tell the truth, he implies that her son will be hurt. Román tells Tania he will fight for her.
Despedidas de soltera/soltero for Tadeo and Angela. Tadeo and Angela marry. Abril refuses to return Adolfo’s calls. Edson confronts Tomás again about his attack on his shop, tells him to act like a man, confront him directly. Tania continues to see Tomás, finds him kind and charming (this is totally unbelievable). Tadeo returns home to find his apartment a mess and Angela gone.

le dice a Tania que se siente acabado, ella lo apoya y le ayuda a tramitar su
retiro. Tomás le pide a Catalina que le ayude a separar a Román de Tania, ella
duda y le dice que prefiere decirle la verdad, sobre su hijo. Tomás encoleriza
y la obliga amenazando al pequeño con una navaja. Tadeo por fin se casa y Abril
les confiesa a Román y a Alex que le duele pues se volvió a quedar sola. Tomás
se presenta con un psicólogo y se hace pasar por un reportero, éste investiga
todo sobre lo que es violencia intra familiar, a Tania le inventa que está en
terapia y le pide que sea su pareja de baile en la boda de Tadeo. Molina le
entrega una pistola para cometer su próximo atraco. La Policía detiene a Molina
y éste encañona a Cristian pero Jorge lo convence para que se entregue. Anabel
no asiste a la boda de Tadeo y prefiere salir con su hijo Nicolás, en el parque
se encuentra con Catalina, comienzan a platicar y Anabel le comenta que su hijo
tiene parecido al de ella. Ya en la iglesia, Román le ofrece a Tania llevarla a
su casa pero ella se va con Tomás, más tarde, él le llama por teléfono y el
otro contesta. La mamá de Tadeo los invita a comer, çngela acepta encantada
pero él se extraña al ver que su esposa se molesta mucho al avisarle que él no
podrá estar con ellas además, le resulta rara su actitud ante la insistencia de
ser ella quien le arregle la ropa. Jackie llama a Edson deprimida pero cortan
la plática para enterarse de que Abril saldrá con un antiguo enamorado. Román
cela a Tania por Tomás, ella le reclama y le dice que no tiene derecho. Alex
sospecha que a Tania le interesa Tomás y le advierte que tenga cuidado. Tadeo
encuentra su casa desordenada y todo destrozado.
USA 4/22-26/02. Edson must take Carlos to the hospital where Carlos refuses to undergo chemotherapy: it can’t save his life. Román feels he has lost everything: Tania, his friends (because of Tomás). Catalina gives Román a choice: marry her and raise his son with her or forget that both of them exists. Fausto and his wife discuss his impotence. He says he knows he can’t be a husband to her. She denies that.
Tomás continues to charm Tania. Fausto tells Gloria he will understand if she wants to leave him. She assures him she doesn’t. Later, he tells her he wants to sleep in the study for a while, needs to be alone. While comforting Cristian, Gloria hugs him and it is obvious that she feels something wrong because she draws away. Alex and Kuri break up. Edson begs Carlos to see one more doctor.
Román accuses Emiliano of sending his clients away. Román sees Tomás kissing Tania goodnight. Alex gets drunk at a party, has a major fight with Kuri. Fausto doesn’t understand why Gloria wants Cristian to know what is going on.

recomienda a Jackie que se busque una aventura en vez de esperar que su marido
la mire. Adriana no acepta el préstamo que le ofrece Pablo, ya que tiene una
semana para pagar la renta de su departamento. Tadeo habla con Angela y trata
de explicarle que no puede decirle a todo sí y que tampoco es coherente
destruir el departamento por cada berrinche que haga. El cantinero confiesa a
los amigos de Tadeo que no debieron dejarlo casarse con Angela, ya que ella
sólo buscaba cualquier soltero con dinero. Catalina advierte a Román que no
dejará que vea a su hijo si no se casa con ella. Adriana es acosada por su jefe, quien le ofrece un préstamo. El
médico dice a Edson que Carlos tiene que comenzar su tratamiento de quimioterapia
y decide llavarlo a vivir a su casa.
Ignacio extraña a Román. Catalina se siente culpable por el engaño, pues
el niño no es de él. Mientras, Alex aconseja a Román realizarse los estudios
para saber si vale la pena luchar por el niño.—

Román comienza a perder clientes debido a las presiones que ejerce Don Emilio. çngela, con mala intención, le pregunta a Tadeo por qué no tiene buenos clientes como Román y Tomás. Alex, por recomendación de Tania, termina con Kuri pero él no le cree. Gloria le pide un hijo a Fausto y él le confiesa que no es el padre de Cristian. Adriana acepta el préstamo de Pablo pues no pudo acusar de acoso sexual a su jefe. Kuri, seguro de encontrar a Alex en su departamento, descubre que ella se llevó sus cosas y que vivirá con Tania. Emilio le advierte a Román que su fracaso en la bolsa es el inicio de su venganza. çngela presiona a Tadeo y le dice que Fausto no lo deja crecer profesionalmente al quitarle sus mejores cuentas y le prohíbe ver a Alex pues la considera una golfa. Kuri y Román encuentran a Alex saliendo con González, Kuri se enoja y Román se ofrece para llevarla a su casa cuando descubre a Tania besándose con Tomás. Edson le advierte a Tania que Tomás la está utilizando con el fin de vengarse de Román. Fausto le dice a Gloria que si no puede darle un hijo, la dejará libre para que pueda realizar su sueño con otro hombre. Kuri se encuentra destrozado y confiesa estar enamorado de Alex pero jura alejarse de ella y le pide a Isela que lo ayude. Román decide casarse con Catalina para darle una familia a Ignacio. "
USA 4/29/02-5/3/02. Gloria assures Fausto that nothing is going on between her and Fausto but later asks him to leave the house; she needs time to work things out. Gisela assures Kuri that she has changed, she is now the right woman for him. He tells Alex he is going to go away, kisses her goodbye. Edson asks Tania about her feelings for Tomás. She says that the therapy is doing him good, that both are in a bad phase of their lieves, that she finds him attractive. Pablo and Malena? argue about their relationship. Jackie tells Emiliano that she still loves him; he tells her that, in spite of everything, he too loves her. Fausto tells Román he suspects something is going on between Gloria and Cristian, that she wants him to tell Cristian he isn’t his real father. Anabella asks Tomás if he has another woman. Román makes a date with Tania, returns the ring she gave him.
Román moves in with Catalina but she accuses him of bringing Tania with him and she won’t accept that. Tomás shows his true colors and Tania tells him she doesn’t want to see him again. Alex tells Tania she has met a new man, Francisco?. Cristian tells Fausto he isn’t interested in learning about his real mother. Gisela plans something.
Gisela arrives at the office, cuts her wrists and dies. Kuri is devastated but the police show him proof that if she hadn’t killed herself she would probably have killed him. His friends throw a going away party for him. Catalina tells Román he’s not trying to make a family. Emiliano asks Tania to accompany him and Jackie on a vacation but accepts her refusal, says it will then be like a second honeymoon. Tania doesn’t know whether to believe this change of heart and personality into a loving husband and father who wants to devote his time to his wife and daughter rather than his business. Catalina visits Tania, confesses that her son is not Román’s.
Later, she tells Román. Tania, finally, calls Román and leaves a message for him, then goes out with Alex. In a restaurant, Emiliano loudly insults Tomás and threatens him re doing his job or else.

Tomás estalla contra la secretaria pues sospecha que se la está negando. Isela
planea aventarse de una azotea frente a la casa de bolsa para que todos la
vean, pero antes le habla a Kuri para despedirse de él.—

Tania pues este la rechaza. Jackie le comenta a Abril lo feliz que está con su
nueva relación con Emiliano. Tania le platica a sus padres lo que hizo Isela y
Emilio, conmovido, le dice que quiere recuperar el cariño de su hija. Kuri,

una fuerte cantidad de dinero a nombre de Iván Saldaña. Pablo se entristece al enterase de que su
suegra se llevó a sus hijos. Tadeo se queda con él para apoyarlo y trata de
avisarle a Angela pero no la encuentra. Tadeo se preocupa y decide ir a su casa
y descubre que saquearon el departamento y piensa que secuestraron a su
esposa. Tomás compra información a los
secuestradores de Emiliano y se entera de que el famoso “Tiburón” tiene
negocios ilícitos y que tuvo que ver con la muerte de Sofía, su amante. Tomás se pone como loco al enterarse que
Tania y Román se reconciliaron. Tadeo encuentra una carta de Angela en la que
le confiesa que le robó y le pide perdón. En la delegación informan a Tadeo que
Angela es conocida como una ladrona profesional. Tomás se pone de acuerdo con un comandante de la policía para chantajear
a Emiliano, después le avisa a Urrutia, director de la Bolsa, sobre los malos
manejos de Lomelí. Catalina piensa escapar con Ignacio cuando llega
sorpresivamente Tomás. Tomás golpea a
Catalina y la deja inconsciente. Urrutia le advierte a Tania que su papá es
investigado por malos manejos de dinero.
Román va a casa de Catalina para agradecerle sus favores y la encuentra
desmayada. En el hospital, ella le confiesa que Tomás la golpeó

agradece a Carolina haber sido sincera con ella. Después, ésta le dice la

Román decide regresarse a su departamento. Alex llora por la ausencia de Kuri
aunque sabe que su relación no tiene remedio. Román va a buscar a Tania a su
casa sin darse cuenta que Tomás lo ve. Este, molesto, enfurece aún más al saber
que Anabel ya tiene un buen trabajo. Román y Tania tienen miedo de encontrarse.
El se decide y la busca pero no la encuentra en su oficina. Tomás descubre que
Emilio cometió fraude al autoprestarse una fuerte cantidad a nombre de Iván
Saldaña. Nora, suegra de Pablo, aprovecha que éste no está en su casa y se
lleva a sus nietos, Clarita quien los cuida no puede impedírselo. Pablo
entristece al enterarse que su suegra se llevó a sus hijos. Tadeo se queda con
él para apoyarlo y trata de avisarle a çngela pero no la encuentra. Este, se
preocupa y decide ir a su casa descubriendo el lugar saqueado por lo que piensa
que han secuestrado a su esposa. Tomás compra información a los secuestradores
de Emiliano y se entera de que el famoso "Tiburón", tiene negocios
chuecos y que tuvo que ver con la muerte de Sofía, su amante. Tomás se pone
como loco al enterarse que Tania y Román se reconciliaron. Tadeo encuentra una
carta de çngela en donde le dice que le robó y que la perdone pues ésa es su
forma de vida. Por otra parte, en la Delegación, le informan que çngela es
conocida como una ladrona profesional. Tomás se pone de acuerdo con un comandante
de la policía para chantajear a Don Emilio, después le avisa a Urrutia,
Director de la Bolsa, sobre los malos manejos de Lomelí. Catalina piensa

USA 5/6-10/02. Tomás blackmails somebody. Román tells Abril she isn’t a grandmother, which pleases her: now he and Tania can be happy. Pablo visits his in-laws looking for his children and learns they are with a lawyer, that they are seeking custody. Román and Tania reconcile. Tomás tells Tania he loves her, demands that she love him.
Angela steals from Tadeo and leaves. Fausto advises Tadeo that he must learn to live alone rather than look for almost anybody to keep from being alone. Furious at the way Emiliano treated him, Tomás investigates him and confronts him in his home: Iban Saldaño, bank accounts, the murder of Sofia. He demands the keys to the banks in the Bahamas. Emiliano refuses. Tomás swears that he will destroy him, goes home and takes a gun out of his drawer. Meanwhile, Román and Tania have visited Catalina, recovering from the beating Tomás gave her, in the hospital. She tells them how, after an argument with Román years before, she invited Tomás over to talk, to help her clarify her feelings. He raped her. She became pregnant with Ignacio. She explains to Román that Tomás has always hated him because he has always wanted to be him. Tania and Román go to Tomás’ apartment.

Alex se hace cargo de todas las cuentas. Tere, ex esposa de Fausto, se siente
sola y piensa llamar a su hijo Cristian.
Nora acusa a Pablo de haber secuestrado a su propio hijo. Mientras,
Sebastián se encuentra con Memo, un niño de la calle que lo acompaña hasta la
casa de Clarita y Genaro. El cómplice de Tomás le revela a Tania todos los
nombres falsos que utiliza su padre para los negocios ilícitos y el lavado de
dinero. Tomás acorrala a Emilio, pero éste lo manda a matar. Nora regaña a Sebastián frente a la
trabajadora social, quien decide que los niños vivirán mejor con Pablo. Gloria
le avisa a Fausto que Tere llamó de nuevo buscando a Cristian. Tomás logra
escapar de las personas que lo quieren matar.
Tania y Jackie se enteran del atentado de Tomás y quedan preocupados,
pues ese mismo día Emilio salió del país sin despedirse de ellas. Más tarde,
unos hombres van a casa de Jackie y le dicen que la llevarán con Emilio. Tere
le confiesa a Cristian que Fausto no es su verdadero padre. Carlos se pone
grave y Edson lo lleva al hospital. Jackie decide no irse con Emilio. Alex y
Francisco pasan la noche juntos. Tomás huye y se siente perseguido; desesperado
acude con Anabel y le pide ayuda, pero ella lo saca luego de reclamarle que
siempre la tratara con desprecio. Nora se rinde: va a ver a Pablo para
despedirse y le promete no volver a pelear por los niños. Carlos muere en los
brazos de Edson.—

enfrente de la trabajadora social y ésta decide que los niños vivirán mejor con
Pablo. Gloria le avisa a Fausto que Tere llamó de nuevo buscando a Cristian.
Tomás logra escapar de las personas que lo quieren matar. Tania y Jackie se
enteran del atentado de Tomás y quedan preocupadas pues ese mismo día Emilio
salió del país sin despedirse de ellas, atan cabos y sospechan que él tiene
algo que ver. Más tarde, unos hombres van a casa de Jackie y le dicen que la
llevarán con Emilio. Tere le confiesa a Cristian que Fausto no es su verdadero
padre. Carlos se pone grave y Edson lo lleva al hospital. Mientras, Alex se
encuentra muy nerviosa pues tiene su primera cita con Francisco. Jackie decide
no irse con Emilio. Alex y Francisco pasan la noche juntos. Tomás huye y se
siente perseguido, desesperado, acude con Anabel y le pide ayuda pero ella lo
corre reclamándole que siempre la trató con desprecio. Nora se rinde, va a ver
a Pablo para despedirse y le promete no volver a pelear por los niños. Por la noche,
Tomás entra a casa de Tania por la fuerza. Carlos le pide a Edson que lo lleve
a su casa pues no quiere morir ahí. Ya en ésta muere en brazos de Edson.
USA 5/13-17/02. Cristian meets his mother and she tells him that Fausto is not his father. Tania, Román and Jackie talk, figure out that it was Tomás who discovered the bank accounts Emiliano had in a false name. Emiliano asks Jackie to leave the country with him.
Cristian is at first angry with Fausto for not telling him the truth but then reconciles with him and Gloria. Jackie refuses to leave with Emiliano but asks him to write her. Edson takes Carlos to the hospital and stays with him. He dies in his arms. Alexis and Francisco make love for the first time. Kuri sees them leave together, enters her apartment and breaks a picture. Tomás, with gun in hand, runs. Anabella refuses to help him. He waits for Tania in her apartment and threatens to rape her.
Román arrives in time to stop Tomás but he escapes. Tania decides to press charges but neither Catalina nor Anabella will. Anabella and Tadeo become closer friends. Jackie tells Abril she couldn’t go with Emiliano because she realized that although they were starting to become a couple after 30 years, they were really together out of habit, for position, etc. Kuri tries to have sex with another woman but can’t. Carlos is buried and Jackie comforts Edson. Tomás is arrested but a crooked official lets him out, advises him to lie low.

que no quiere volver a verlo. Tomás va a despedirse de Nicolás, pues piensa que

empieza a tener problemas en la Bolsa. Urrutia trata de detener el problema con
la empresa Tanaka. Urrutia le sugiere a
Tania que se vaya unos días de vacaciones. Christian conoce en forma misteriosa
a Mónica, quien lo va a a buscar al hospital. Kuri acepta por fin que está
enamorado de Alex y que regresó por ella.
Román le hace ver que no llegó en un buen momento. Germán amenaza a
Tomás con tomar represalias contra su familia.—

Tania y Román denuncian a Tomás a la policía pero éste sale libre. Sin
embargo, al querer huir del país, es detenido. Fausto se emociona cuando
Cristian le confirma que estudiará medicina. Román contrata a un policía para
que vigile a Catalina en el hospital, pues teme que Tomás pueda matarla. Tania
descubre que Reverte, el contador, fue quien traicionó a su padre. Alex se pone
muy contenta al escuchar a sus amigos hablar bien de ella. El comandante
corrupto le dice a Tomás que Emilio logró escapar, pero éste insiste en dar a
conocer los fraudes. Francisco le dice a Alex que no puede enamorarse de ella
porque es un hombre casado. Mientras, Kuri regresa y le pide trabajo a Fausto.
Tomás habla con Anabel y le dice que desaparecerá por un tiempo, sin embargo,
por la noche regresa a su casa para recoger a Nicolás, pues teme que Germán, el
asesino contratado por Emilio, le haga daño. Los inversionistas le dan la
espalda a Tania, nadie quiere hablar con ella pero sí le exigen que pague los
fraudes de su padre. Kuri visita a sus amigos y les confiesa que luchará por el
amor de Alex. Mónica, amante de Molina, por encargo de él, invita a Cristian a
comer. Kuri le dice a Alex que la extraña, pero ella no le cree. Tomás, muerto
de miedo, encierra a Anabel y a su hijo en su casa. Más tarde, Anabel logra
escapar. Román se preocupa, pues se entera que su padre regresará y teme que
reconquiste a Abril y la vuelva a lastimar, pero cuenta con la ayuda de Tadeo,
quien la visita todos los días para estar más cerca de ella. Cristian se
enamora de Mónica sin saber que ésta es amante de Molina. Tomás amenaza a Tania
y le exige que le diga dónde se encuentra su padre. Mónica está confundida,
extraña a Cristian y Molina lo presiente, por lo que le advierte que va a
utilizar a Cristian para otro trabajo y que no va a tolerar que lo traicione.
Kuri y Tomás buscan a Tania en su casa, pero el portero les avisa que ésta
salió muy temprano con una maleta. Más tarde, Tomás es arrestado de nuevo.
Tania al llegar a Manzanillo se acuerda que es cumpleaños de Román y que no le
avisó que iba a viajar.

a su ex esposo. Román regresa con Catalina. Mientras, Tania, en Manzanillo,
trata de comunicarse con él pero no lo localiza. Más tarde, Román se entera por
Fausto que todas las amigas se fueron a la playa. En ese momento, llega Tomás
buscando a Anabel y a su hijo pero al no encontrarlos quiere golpear a Fausto.
Román lo defiende y saca a Tomás de la casa. Mónica le propone a Cristian que
la ayude a cometer un robo para Molina, pero él le dice que no quiere
problemas. Francisco llega a Manzanillo buscando a Alex.—

Imparcial, 9/23/01: Abril se encuentra muy nerviosa pues volverá a ver a su
ex esposo. Román regresa a Ignacio con Catalina. Mientras, Tania, en
Manzanillo, trata de comunicarse con él pero no lo localiza. Más tarde, Román
se entera por Fausto que todas las amigas se fueron a la playa. En ese momento,
llega Tomás buscando a Anabel y a su hijo al no encontrarlos, quiere golpear a
Fausto, Román lo defiende y corre a Tomás de la casa. Mónica le propone a
Cristian que la ayude a cometer un robo para Molina pero él muy
inteligentemente le dice que no quiere problemas. Francisco llega
sorpresivamente a Manzanillo buscando a Alex. Francisco le confiesa su amor a
Alex y le propone vivir juntos aunque él está casado. Mientras, Kuri le
confiesa a Fausto que no puede vivir sin Alex. Tania logra localizar a Román y
le cuenta que Francisco se encuentra con ellas y que Kuri tiene que hacer algo
para que no la pierda. Román planea ir con todos los amigos a ayudar a Kuri y
deciden irse a Manzanillo. Gloria por su parte, se pone contenta al ver que
Fausto se encela al creer que ella ligó con un barman. El comandante corrupto,
le avisa a Tomás que Anabel se encuentra fuera de México y éste va a buscarla.
Anabel le pide a Tomás que no se acerque a su hijo pues le teme. Sin embargo,
éste en un descuido se lo lleva a pasear. Anabel, desesperada y acompañada por
policías los encuentra horas después. Alex está confundida pues no sabe a quien
elegir. Pablo pasea en la playa con Fernanda sin saber que Gaby piensa
alcanzarlo. Fausto absorto en su trabajo, no le hace caso a Gloria por lo que
enojada se va a esquiar con Kevin, el barman. Los agentes de la INTERPOL le
dicen a Urrutia que si no aparece Tania en 48 horas, girarán orden de arresto.
Maripaz la localiza y le dice que tiene que regresar inmediatamente. Alex se
despide de Francisco y le dice que ama a Kuri. Tania regresa a México, Román no
la acompaña pues se queda a cuidar a Kuri quien está muy borracho. Pablo se
resiste a engañar a Gaby y sólo le da un beso a Fernanda pero ésta los ve y se
enoja. Por la mañana, Tadeo descubre a Angela, registrándose con su nuevo
esposo. Tomás regresa a México en cuanto se entera que Tania se fue. Tadeo y
Anabel le advierten al nuevo marido de Angela que es una estafadora mientras
ella, muy nerviosa, dice llamarse Ana. Tania es interrogada por la INTERPOL.
Octavio quiere reconquistar a Abril y la invita a cenar. Ella, no quiere ceder por
lo que les pide a Jackie y a Edson que la acompañen a la cita. Pero no cuenta
con que Octavio les cae muy bien a sus amigos. Mónica quiere impedir que
Cristian cometa el robo y le confiesa que lo engañó y que es novia de Molina
pero no logra que éste cometa el robo.
El Norte, 9/23/01: www.terra.com.mx, 9/23/01: Alex está
confundida, pues no sabe a quien elegir entre Francisco y Kuri. Pablo pasea en
la playa con Fernanda sin saber que Gaby piensa alcanzarlo. Fausto absorto en
su trabajo, no le hace caso a Gloria, por lo que enojada se va a esquiar con
Kevin, el barman. Los agentes de la Interpol le dicen a Urrutia que si no

USA 5/27-31/02. Alex has discovered that Francisco is married. He tries to explain. At first she rejects him outright, but at the beach, after talking with Tania, she sits down and talks with him. Kuri is upset when he and Román see them close together. Francisco tells her he loves her and she admits that he loves her. Fausto tells Kuri he has to reach some sort of accord with Alexis or he can’t work on his team. Cristian is more and more involved with Mónica but she has some kind of strange relationship with Julio? who threatens her and has some kind of hold over her because of her brother who is in jail. Abril waits nervously for her ex-husband Octavio to arrive. He enters the apartment and calls for his Pantera.

Román y Kuri buscan a Urrutia, quien se niega a recibirlos. Tania pasa
la noche en casa de Alex, pues su departamento está invadido por reporteros y
la esperan los judiciales. Al día siguiente, Tania da una conferencia de prensa
y se deslinda de todos los fraudes de su padre. Jackie recibe un anónimo en el
que supuestamente Emilio le escribe que todo estará bien. Tania decide enfrentase a Urrutia y le
reclama que no la haya apoyado. Más tarde, presenta su renuncia. Adriana deja
en un asilo a su mamá para que reciba mejor atención médica y decide terminar
su carrera. Tomás, desquiciado cada vez más, recorta todos los periódicos en
los que se publican noticias de los Lomelí y las fotos de Tania. Jackie exige a Urrutia que le diga dónde
está Emilio. Urrutia jura que no sabe nada, pero sí le aconseja que ella y Tania
salgan del país. En ese momento, los judiciales la detienen y Román se entera
que está bajo arraigo domiciliario.—

cuando llega la policía y lo mata. Tadeo y Anabel, después de besarse en la
playa, deciden que lo mejor es seguir como amigos. Fausto no hace caso de su
dolor de pecho e invita a Gloria a bailar. Catalina denuncia a Tomás ante la
Procuraduría. Román reclama a Octavio lo mucho que hizo sufrir a su madre y que
ahora quiera regresar como si nada hubiera pasado. Tomás, en su locura, cree
ver a Emiliano en la Casa de Bolsa. Mientras, Kuri encuentra una nota
amenazadora en su computadora. Kuri y Alex, preocupados por el mensaje, avisan
a González pero al salir al estacionamiento encuentran una vela derretida en su
coche como aviso de terror. Tomás recibe la demanda de divorcio, en ese
instante le envían un mensaje que dice que está cerca del triunfo sobre Emilio.

USA 6/3-7/02. Tomás receives the notice of the divorce proceedings. Kari gets a note that seems to have been written by the loca. Fausto worries about his new venture: the investors seem too cautious. Román’s father calls: he is going away. Pablo picks up Adriana. Fausto has a big party for the start of his new business and is presented with his new executive chair: a wheelchair. All laugh. Román announces his engagement to Tania. Then she gets a call from her mother: the police are searching for her.
Tania holds a press conference. Kuri sends flowers to Alex. Tania’s secretary is upset. People refuse to accept phone calls, keep cancelling appointments.

ayudar a su hija. En una entrevista por televisión, Tomás dice que fue él quien
desenmascaró a don Emilio. Christian es
aceptado en la universidad para estudiar medicina. Jackie, Edson, Alex y Román
logran ver a Tania. Todos sospechan que alguien con poder está detrás de todo
lo que está pasando. Urrutia recibe una llamada de Emilio, quien le pregunta
sobre la situación de su hija. Tomás se
pone celoso al llegar a su casa y ver a Tadeo y Anabel juntos viendo una
película. Para obtener dinero, Mónica le dice a Christian que “El Nabo” la
amenazó. Tomás llega a la casa de bolsa y Kuri lo golpea furioso por sus declaraciones
en la televisión y le exige que deje en paza a sus amigos

departamento de él. Por Internet, Emilio le entrega a Tomás la cuenta de Nassau
con 7 millones de dólares a cambio de que deje en paz a Tania. Éste cae en al
trampa y la acepta. Emilio entra a su casa por la noche sin que se dé cuenta
Jackie. Por la mañana, ella descubre el anillo de casado de Emilio en su
almohada y se lo cuenta a Tania y a Román diciéndoles que no se preocupen que
su esposo resolverá todo. Urrutia humilla a Tomás frente a todos y lo corre por
el traspaso de dinero que realizó, es cuando se da cuenta que Emilio le tendió
una trampa. Él trata de hablar con el comandante pero no le recibe la llamada.
Más tarde, Emilio se entrega y por televisión deslinda a Tania de todo y
confiesa que Raúl Suárez y Tomás son sus cómplices. Emilio se despide para

USA 6/10-14/02. Urrutia tape records a meeting with Tomás. Later he makes some calls, including one to Emiliano. Kuri and Alex get back together. Tomás arrives for work only to discover that he can’t access his computer. He is escorted out of his office and can’t contact ______. Urrutia tells him he is finished. Fausto tells his group that he is going to hire Clarita. Kuri, Alex, Román, Tania, Fausto, Jackie, etc. all gather in Tania’s hotel room. Emiliano appears on TV and tells the reporters that Tania is totally innocent, accuses Tomás, tells of his blackmail. Tomás discovers that his ATM card doesn’t work. He goes into a bank to cash a large check. When the cashier goes for approval, he sees a warning on the screen and leaves the bank. Urrutia and Lic. Rutian go to the hotel to tell Tania that her house arrest has been lifted. It has been imposed merely for her physical safety. Indeed, everything since Emiliano acceded to Tomás’ blackmail had been part of a plan to trap Tomás. Jackie apologizes for having hit Urrutia but he says it simply added to the verity of the picture they were trying to present. Tomás goes home, gathers up his cash. Emiliano talks to Jackie, tells her he does love, must go to jail. He asks her not to visit him in jail. He asks her to tell Tania that he approves of her marriage to Román. Tomás calls Román, tells him he will pay. The whole group, including Catalina and her son, appear to be outside of a churc. Tomás appears with a gun and shoots.
6/13/02. no signal from station
6/14/02. The doctor tells Tomás that Tania is dead. The funeral is held. Tomás visits Anabella and his son in a garage where he has them tied up. He goes to the cemetery after the rest have left and puts some flowers on Tania’s casket. There are many tears. Esteban is bereft. Román’s father agrees to stay for awhile. Tadeo sees Tomás leaving the cemetery and follows him to the garage but his cell phone doesn’t work. He goes to Jackie’s home and tells Román.

recibe a Jackie muy afectuosamente. Tomás, más loco que nunca, pide perdón a
Tania en su tumba, luego va a una bodega en donde tiene a secuestrados a Anabel
y a su hijo. Tadeo lo sigue sin que él se dé cuenta y le llama a Román para
pedirle ayuda. Román y Tadeo llegan
tarde y no encuentran a Tomás y a Anabel, entonces deciden llamarle al
comandante. Mónica comenta a Christian que está amenazada de muerte por “El
Nabo”. Christian le miente a Fausto, le dice que irá a la Universidad de Puebla
a estudiar, pero en realidad se queda con Mónica para protegerla. Kuri se enoja
porque Alex le da mas tiempo a Román que a él. Adriana está confundida y le
pide a Pablo que se alejen por un tiempo.
Pablo y Adriana pelean por teléfono y terminan su relación. Kuri busca a
Alex para proponerle vivir juntos pero siente celos cuando encuentra a Román en
el sofá de casa de Alex. Tadeo y Alex
buscan por todos lados a Anabel, pero Tomás ya la llevó a una casa cerca de la
la playa y la tiene esposada. Efrén anima a Ximena para que vaya a la oficina
de Fausto a pedirle empleo. Edson encuentra a Jackie dormida con el frasco de
calmantes al lado y piensa lo peor.—

desconsolada por la muerte de su hija. Román se siente culpable y avergonzado
pero Jackie lo abraza y lloran juntos. Edson se preocupa al ver a su amiga así
y decide llevarla a casa de Abril y Octavio para que la cuiden. Abril se desconcierta

de Puebla a estudiar pero en realidad se queda con Mónica para protegerla. Kuri
se molesta porque Alex le está dando más tiempo a Román que a él. Adriana está
confundida y le pide a Pablo que se alejen por un tiempo. Pablo y Adriana
pelean por teléfono y terminan su relación. Kuri busca a Alex para proponerle
vivir juntos pero se encela cuando encuentra a Román durmiendo en el sofá.

lo peor. Kuri se sorprende al encontrar en su cama un recado amenazándolo,
inmediatamente piensa en Isela. Román le aconseja que busque a González y que
le pregunte si también ha recibido amenazas. Jackie despierta y Edson se
tranquiliza. Él le pide que vaya a trabajar a su boutique. Ximena es contratada
por Fausto sin embargo, a Alex no le parece buena la idea. "El Nabo"
lleva a Mónica y a Cristian a conocer al capo mayor quien resulta ser Ronaldo.
Kuri encuentra a González desquiciado esperando a Isela. Ximena le coquetea a
Román. Kuri y González comparan las amenazas que ambos recibieron pero no creen
que sea Isela. Los dos esperan a que llegue, ven una sombra pero no logran
identificarla bien. Fausto invita a Gloria unos días a la playa. Anabel engaña
a Tomás y logra golpearlo en la cabeza para escapar. Jackie y Edson encuentran
en la puerta de la boutique un bebé abandonado.
USA 6/17-21/02. Tadeo tells Román he knows where Tomás is but they arrive after he has left with Anabella and his son, finally go to the police. Cristian tells his parents that he is going back to the University but, in reality, he moves in with Mónica. Clarita’s boyfriend returns in an expensive car, but she is sure it isn’t his and doesn’t take him back. Pablo asks Adriana to marry him but she tells him she isn’t ready yet. He almost threatens to leave her. Abril thanks Octavio for his support during this time. Edson is worried about Jackie: he thought the worst was over but she is very depressed, doesn’t want to get out of bed. Tomás “buys” gas with a gun; Anabella is sitting next to him with her hands tied. Jimena flirts with Pablo who tells her that Adriana used to be his novia.
Abril wakes up in bed to find Octavio next to her. A baby is left at Edson’s shop and he takes her home to Jackie who falls in love with her at once.

libres a Cristian y Mónica. La joven pide a Cristian que se vaya y que regrese
con sus padres, pero él no acepta, quiere conseguir un trabajo. Pablo está
desconcertado por los coqueteos de Ximena. Adriana pide consejo a Alex, pues no
se atreve a casarse con Pablo. Efrén
planea entrar a la consultoría de Fausto y hacerse indispensable. Abril rechaza
definitivamente a Octavio. Román y Tadeo continúan buscando a Tomás. Llegan a
una tienda y preguntan por él. El tendero les dice que sí lo ha visto, pero
solo. Alex pide a Edson que financie
el negocio de Fausto pues va a quebrar. Efrén se presenta en la consultoría y
finge que necesita asesoría para invertir. Rolando manda matar a “El Nabo”.
Cristian intenta robar el auto de Gloria, pero como no lo consigue le pide
ayuda a la banda de Rolando. La
policía informa a Kuri que hallaron a González muerto.—

Azteca, 10/22-26/01:Fausto apoya a Gloria en su nuevo puesto. La banda de
Rolando deja libres a Cristian y Mónica. Ella le pide a Cristian que se vaya y
que regrese con sus padres, pero él no acepta y decide buscar trabajo. Pablo
está desconcertado por los coqueteos de Ximena. Mientras, Adriana le pide
consejo a Alex, pues no se atreve a casarse con Pablo. Efrén planea entrar a la
consultoría de Fausto y hacerse indispensable. Abril rechaza definitivamente a
Octavio. Román y Tadeo continúan buscando a Tomás, llegan a una tienda
preguntando por él, el tendero les dice que sí lo han visto, pero solo. Alex le

presenta en la consultoría fingiendo que necesita asesoría para invertir.
Rolando manda a matar al "Nabo". Cristian intenta robar el carro de
Gloria, como no lo logra, va con la banda de Rolando y le pide ayuda. La
Policía le informa a Kuri que encontraron a González muerto. Tadeo y Román por
fin encuentran a Anabel en la casa de la playa. En el momento en que tratan de
escapar, Tomás llega y los amenaza con una pistola. Los tres forcejean
escuchándose un disparo. Edson se sorprende al ver llegar a Laura, su ex novia.
Román se siente triste y dolido junto al cadáver de Tomás. Cristian ya trabaja
en la banda de Rolando y recibe un adelanto, por lo que Mónica se molesta.
Ximena le informa a Efrén que Alex consiguió un préstamo, así que no se
asociarán con él. Kuri se entera de que González murió desfigurado, él se
encierra en su casa y le dice a Alex que no quiere verla. Jackie y Edson
deciden adoptar al bebé abandonado. Anabel le explica a su hijo que su papá se
fue, pero que vivirá siempre en su corazón. Efrén, por conseguir entrar a la
consultoría, invita a Fausto y a sus socios a una comida. Octavio se despide de
Román y le pregunta cuáles son sus sentimientos con respecto a Alex, él le
aclara que sólo son amigos. Sin embargo, su actitud es otra, pues va a casa de
ésta a consolarse. Efrén envía clientes a la consultoría, sin que Fausto esté
enterado. Kuri llega en muy mal estado a la oficina y ve un e-mail en su
computadora con la foto de González muerto y un recado amenazándolo de muerte.
Román y Alex se alarman.
www.terra.com.mx, 10/21/01:Cristian y Mónica son asaltados por tres
tipos que los dejan ir cuando se enteran de que Cristian conoce a Ronaldo.
Gloria y Fausto liman asperezas y Fausto acepta el ascenso de Gloria. La mamá de Pablo acepta ir a vivir un tiempo
con él para cuidar a los niños. Los asaltantes llegan a ver a Ronaldo y se
descubre que él los envió. Jackie, motivada por la presencia de la bebé, se
levanta de la cama y va a la boutique. Los vaqueros están muy preocupados
porque Impromptu no firmó con ellos, debido a una jugada de Efrén. Esto los
coloca en una muy mala situación financiera.
Kuri sigue preocupado por los mensajes de Isela. Alex le propone ir al
registro civil y ahí les enseñan el acta de defunción. Cristian, convencido por
Mónica, llama a la universidad para ver si alcanza el semestre, pero ya ha
comenzado. Ximena, encantadora, besa a
Román en los labios, provocando los celos de Pablo. Cristian busca empleo, pero
no encuentra. Desesperado, decide aceptar el trabajo que le ofreció
Ronaldo. Tomás viola a Anabel. Alex
anuncia el grave problema financiero de la consultoría. Ximena propone que
tengan un nuevo socio. Efrén “casualmente”, va a buscar a Tadeo y se porta muy
amable con Pablo, Kuri, Alex y Clarita. Ronaldo manda matar al Nabo. Cristian trata de vender el auto de Gloria,
pero no se lo aceptan porque la factura no está a su nombre. Finalmente va a
ver a Ronaldo y éste le adelanta dinero. Tadeo y Román encuentran a Anabel muy
maltrecha. Tadeo la atiende y Román va a buscar a Tomás, quien después de
hablar con gran rencor, se suicida delante de Román. Efrén habla con Yánez de Impromptu y provoca que le den la cuenta
a la consultoría de Fausto. Kuri recibe un nuevo mensaje en la pantalla de su
computadora. Son fotos de González muerto.
Román propone a sus amigos ir al cementerio a buscar a Isela, para salir
de la duda. Mónica trata de convencer a Cristian de que no acepte el trabajo de
Ronaldo, pero al ver que aceptó, lo corre de su casa. Cristian va a casa de
Gloria, pero no se atreve a entrar, pues escucha cómo habla de él como una
madre orgullosa. Román, Alex, Kuri, Tadeo y Pablo van al cementerio.
USA 6/24-28/02. Tomás dresses, takes his gun. Alex and the others discuss the need for more capital, possibly a partner. Efren arrives, as he had arranged with Jimena, and says he is interested in investing. Cristian tries to sell the car but can’t because he doesn’t have the ownership papers. The police question Kuri about the death of Lic. Gonzales. He is convinced it could only be Isela. Edson tells Jackie that she can’t replace Tania with the baby. Later, he meets an old friend: Laura. Tadeo and Román go to the house where Tomás is. Tomás drags Anabella into a maze. Tadeo and Román follow. Roman and Tomás face each other with guns. Tomás lets Tadeo take Anabella. Then Tomás puts down his gun and tries to taunt Roman into firing but Roman wants him in jail. Tomás picks up his gun, removes all but one bullet and puts it to his head. There is no bullet in the first chamber or the second. But the third time he pulls the trigger, it goes off and kills him.
Laura flirts with Edson, asks if he is married, invites him to dinner. Isela visits Kuri, swears she is in danger, did not kill Gonzales. He says he doesn’t believe her but it’s clear that he isn’t sure. Alex waits for news from Roman and he finally arrives, after telling the police what happened. Then Kuri calls to tell them about Isela. He goes over to Alex’s apartment and is followed by Isela. Cristian agrees to work for Ronaldo. Efren arranges for his aunt to invite him and Tadeo to dinner; it is part of the plan. Kuri admits to Román that he loves Alex but is afraid of a permanent relationship. After Roman and Tadeo leave, Isela arrives...to kill Alex.
Román calls Alex and judges from her response that something is wrong, goes to the apartment and saves her. Isela flees and Román chases her. She is hit by a car and taken to a hospital. Kuri goes to a bar and picks up a woman. When Alex calls him, she answers and says it is a wrong number. But she called from a cell phone and Román verifies that the number was correct. Octavio tells Abril that he is leaving her, says they were both at fault. Anabella and her son visit Roman and Alex, tell them that she is ok. Edson and Jackie talk about adopting the baby, then Edson recalls that she is married and her husband is in jail. Kuri goes to Román’s apartment and swears to Alex that he wasn’t with another woman but she doesn’t believe him. Fausto tells his partners it is time for him to retire and turn it all over to them.
Kuri goes to the hospital and is attacked by Isela, in a nursing gown, in the bathroom. She knifes him but a policeman arrives and shoots her. He asks Alex to forgive him. She tells him that she has been twice attacked by Isela and he wasn’t there either time. Worse he was with another woman. She slaps him.. Octavio talks to his son and asks about his feelings for Alex. Román assures him they are just good friends. Octavio tells him that a reconciliation with his mother is not possible, that he will be on his way. Alex calls Román, he comes over, then takes her someplace and, while holding her, recalls scenes from the past of the two of them together. Román tells Kuri that he has lost Alex, that he just can’t seem to be faithful and that is important to her. When Jimena calls Alex Alejandra again she corrects her, again, and tells her to call her Alex. Jimena tells Efren she is tired of hiding after they have to edge out of a restaurant to avoid Tadeo. He reminds her it is necessary. Then he arranges to meet Tadeo for lunch and they talk business.
Jimena shows Efren a diskette with a list of potential clients but insists on being a full partner. Alex and Román have dinner together and she wonders why she can’t find a man like him. He agrees to stand by her until her principe azul arrives. Edson has dinner with Laura, who is still married, and does his best to avoid her advances but must finally tell her the truth, that he is gay. The next day she sends him flowers. Anabella visits Gloria, thanks her for all her help, asks how Fausto and Cristian is doing. When Cristian hears the pride in her voice about his studying medicine, you can see that he feels guilty. Almost everybody turns up for a backyard lunch with Tadeo’s aunt and uncle. Both Tadeo and Román must say that their companions, Anabella and Alex, are just friends. Jimena arrives and a bit later Alex sees her and Pablo having sex behind some bushes. Efren sees Alex, then also sees the couple behind the bushes.

González y que tiene mucho miedo. Efrén
seguirá su sociedad con Ximena, pero le advierte que piensa vivir solo. Román
informa que Efrén quiere invertir. Fausto convoca a una junta general, Efrén
hace su propuesta y es aceptado como nuevo socio. Al salir, Efrén demuestra que
Alex le gusta mucho. Adriana va a
buscar a Pablo, pero él se porta muy cortante con ella. Abril vuelve a sentirse muy sola, extraña a
Octavio. Gloria recibe su nuevo cargo en el hospital, pero falta ver qué piensa
Fausto. Rolando le encarga otros
trabajitos a Cristian, pero ahora más peligrosos. Kuri y Alex terminan
definitivamente. Gloria llama a
Cristian a la universidad y descubre que ha estado mintiendo. Adriana convence a Pablo y reanudan su
noviazgo. Efrén se porta muy atento con Alex: la acompaña al gimnasio, mientras
Román toma un café con Ximena. Desde la
ventana de su departamento, Kuri ve que alguien golpea a Isela. Todos los
muchachos invitan a Efrén y Edson a una parranda nocturna.—

Efrén trata de estar el mayor tiempo con Alex, mientras Ximena sale con Román.
Pablo se da cuenta de que sigue amando a Adriana, ambos hablan sobre su
relación y deciden reiniciarla. Ronaldo planea un nuevo atraco. Efrén sigue con
su plan de querer invertir en la consultoría y se lo comenta a Alex y Román.
Más tarde, él le dice a Ximena que seguirá su sociedad con ella, pero piensa
vivir solo. Román le informa a Fausto que Efrén quiere invertir, éste convoca a
una junta aceptándolo más tarde como nuevo socio. Al salir, Efrén le insinúa a
Ximena que Alex le gusta. Abril extraña a Octavio.

diciéndole que le va muy bien en la Universidad, ella le pregunta de quién es
el auto que está estacionado afuera y él, titubeante, le dice que es de un
amigo ocultándole que se lo obsequió Ronaldo. Sin embargo, al siguiente día,
ella llama al colegio de Cristián y se entera que le ha estado mintiendo.
Adriana, extraña a Pablo y decide buscarlo en la oficina, él la trata muy
cortante y se va con Ximena a una comida. Efrén trata de estar el mayor tiempo
con Alex mientras, Ximena sale con Román. Pablo se da cuenta de que sigue

USA 7/1-5/02. Adriana arrives at the party to find Pablo and Jimena together. Efren makes a business proposition to Alex and Roman. Laura goes to Edson’s shop and flirts with him. Alex tells Kuri it is over betwen them. He goes to a bar and picks up Silvia. Efren and Jimena talk, decide they must separate Roman and Alex. Her conscience appears to be bothering her; he reminds her it is work. Roman calls Fausto and tells him about the offer. At work the next day, Jimena again makes it clear to Pablo that it was a one-time thing, that from now on their relationship would be solely professional. Kuri tells Roman and Alex there is a problem: he has lost 3 potential clients to a lower bidder. Alex doesn’t know how somebody could get hold of their list; she alone has it. Gloria discovers that Cristian has not been in school the entire semester. Pablo tells Adriana she rejected him. She asks him what he would say if she accepts his marriage proposal. Roman tells Kuri never again to make Alex cry.
Román and Alex argue, then kiss for the first time. They break apart and feel strange. Román confesses to Edson that he kissed Alex and feels happy but odd. Gloria talks with Mónica, learns her mother is in jail, says that she is a bad influence on Cristian. Gloria tells Cristian that Mónica has gone away, at her request. Román tries to talk to Alex in the office about the kiss. He wants to know what it meant to her; she tells him it is just the result of their both feeling alone. She warns him, as a friend, not to get involved with Jimena because she isn’t a good person. Román insists there is nothing between them but it appears that Alex is jealous. Clarita tells Alex that her checking account has no funds; she suspects Jimena. Alex tells Roman she wants to fire Jimena; he says that she doesn’t have sufficient cause. Jimena tells Roman that Alex is just jealous of her. In their meeting, Kuri, Tadeo and Roman all support Jimena. Alex threatens to leave if she stays.

y Pablo están a punto de pelearse por Ximena, pero Efrén los separa. Luego
aclaran la situación y se reconcilian. Edson se impresiona cuando conoce a
Efrén. Kuri defiende a Isela de un hombre que la golpea y permite que pase la
noche en su casa, pues ella dice que la quieren matar. Cuando Kuri está dormido, Isela intenta
atacarlo, pero él la amarra. “El Caballo” apuñala a Cristian cuando quiere
escapar de Ronaldo. Cristian, quien está herido, pide a Mónica que lo lleve a
casa de Román. Juanito, hermano de
Isela, cuenta a Kuri que su hermana está loca. Kuri entrega a Isela a la
policía y la acusa del asesinato de González.—

11/5-9/01: Alex regaña a Ximena
pues perdieron una importante cuenta por culpa de ella. Ésta, hipócritamente se
lamenta con Román y él la invita al bar para consolarla. Aparece la madre de la
bebé y Jackie no quiere devolvérsela. Ronaldo, planea algo contra Cristian al
enterarse de que es hijo de Fausto, dueño de la consultoría donde trabaja
Clarita. Kuri le aconseja a Román de que disfrute de la vida antes de su
romance con Alex, para que no fracasen. Anabel le comenta a Tadeo que su hijo
Nicolás está muy agresivo. Ronaldo amenaza a Cristian al decirle que están

quiere devolvérsela. Ronaldo planea algo contra Cristian al enterarse de que es
hijo de Fausto, dueño de la consultoría donde trabaja Clarita. Kuri le aconseja
a Román de que disfrute de la vida antes de su romance con Alex, para que no
fracasen. Anabel le comenta a Tadeo que su hijo Nicolás está muy agresivo.
Ronaldo amenaza a Cristian al decirle que lo están vigilándolo. Alex se encela

USA 7/8-12/02. Edson meets Rene in a bar. Cristian attacks Ronaldo. Pablo finds a picture of Jimena in Efren’s desk. Gloria tells Cristian to call Fausto. Román asks Alex to continue being his friend. Edson and Jackie decide to fight for custody of the baby, but worry that the mother, Laura, may change her mind. Jackie asks Edson if he would be willing to marry in order to adopt the baby. He tells her he has always wanted to be a father and would give up anything to be the baby Daniela’s father. Efren looks for something in his cubicle and can’t find it. Kuri tries to apologize to Alex, but she tells him it is too late: she failed with him, then with Francisco, then with him again, doesn’t want to expose herself again. Tadeo tells Efren that Pablo won’t be joining them for lunch. Román refuses Jimena’s invitation to dinner. Efren invites Alex out, admits he is interested in him. She agrees, but for another day, and seems very surprised. Ronaldo is living again with Clarita and she finds a lot of cash in the pocket of his jacket. Tadeo suggests to Román that he is in love with Alex. Anabella talks to a doctor about her son Nicolas and his behavior and is told that he was witness to much violence and will need a lot of care. He tells her that therapy is essential. Kuri sees Alex with Román. Fausto at the beach wonders about his life. Edson calls Alex and guesses from her voice that there is somebody new in her life. Efren tells Jimena he has to get rid of Román. When she asks if he means to kill him, he avoids the question. He tells her that Pablo’s weak point is his family and to focus there. Cristian is attacked with a knife by Ronaldo’s “associate”.

no le hace caso por lo que busca como consuelo a Ximena pero ésta lo trata con
desprecio. Gloria llama a Kuri para prevenirlo de que se cuide pues Fausto está
celoso y armado. Efrén se burla cuando Fausto amenaza a Kuri por perseguir a su
esposa. Ximena le advierte a Efrén que su plan de estafa ha tardado mucho pues
está interesada en Román. Fausto se encuentra con Román y le cuenta que
descubrió que Gloria le fue infiel pero no con Kuri y quiere saber con quién.
Efrén se entera y mira a Fausto burlonamente. Mientras, Román, que sabe lo que
sucedió, le promete a Fausto revelarle el nombre pero con la condición de que
no intervenga pues sus amigos se encargarán. Román y Kuri se dan cuenta de
algunas falsificaciones que hizo Efrén. Edson y Jackie están a punto de lograr
la adopción del bebé. Le disparan a Efrén, pero no se sabe quién.
USA 7/15-18/02. Fausto, in a rage and with a gun, demands that Gloria tell him who her lover is. She again refuses to answer. He assumes it is Kuri. She leaves and he falls to the floor, wondering what has gotten into him. Efren encourages Kuri to have a relationship with Jimena. Kuri tells Alex that they were in love once, she loved him as he was, their shared memories are his only arms, but he is sure that he can win her back. Gloria goes to Anabella’s house. She receives flowers. Ramón talks with Fausto and assures him that Kuri would never fool around with his wife. Cristian and Mónica are threatened by Rolando and his henchman. Alex tells Efren that she can’t decide, doesn’t want to hurt anybody. He suggests that she take her time. All go to a bar where Gloria flirts with a new man, Martin. Efren suggests to Román that he should give Alex time and space. Román tells Efren they must talk about Gloria. Efren assures him that he saw her to a cab shortly after the dinner. But later, in the bar, Fausto talks to him. Efren says, at first, that he saw Gloria to a cab and nobody else left the party. Then he thinks and says “except Kuri”. In the bar, a man flirts with Gloria and joins her table with Anabella, introduces himself as Martin. Laura is with a young, gay, blonde man and asks him to strike up a relationship with Rene, Edson’s date. The young man compliments Rene on his perfume when he bumps into him on the way to the men’s room. Later, Edson finds the two together is becomes jealous. Kuri gets very drunk and starts a fight with Roman. Somehow, Jimena manages to get Román back to her apartment, supposedly to take care of his bruises. As she leans on him to take care of the cut on his lip, Efren makes a video of what appears to be the two of them kissing.
7/19/02. Alex slaps Jimena in the office. Roman tells Tadeo he never kissed Jimena, the video is a fraud. Fausto almost finds out that Efren is talking with Gloria on the phone. Fausto calls a meeting. Kuri is in jail; was found in a hotel room with a minor. Alex admits to Fausto that part of her problem with Jimena is personal. Fausto says he will talk with her but personal problems must be left outside. Fausto tells the group to solve their problems and those who can't should leave. Jimena tells Tadeo there is nothing between them, they had a good time and that is all. Roman found a camera in Tadeo's office and is sure that he took the video. Alex tells him that she doesn't care who took the video, the point is what he did. Jimena tells Fausto she doesn't mix the personal with business. Alex talks to Tadeo about the filming and finally he understands what the problem is, says he didn't make the video but is in love with Jimena. Efren meets Gloria and kisses her. They make love in her car. The police tells Fausto and Roman they got a call from the girl's sister but she told them she had no other family and nobody has shown up to press charges. Kuri tells them he thought she was 22. Alex tells Tadeo that Jimena is responsible for all the trouble in the group; he doesn't believe her, sees no reason for her to cause trouble. Edson talks with Rene. Kuri swears to Fausto that he has nothing to do with Gloria. Roman tells Alex that he pushed Jimena away and it isn't in the video. Alex tells Roman that Tadeo knows nothing about the video. In the meeting, they discuss the loss of a number of clients. Edson talks to Henry, the man hired to take Rene away from Edson. Henry admits that Laura, his future wife, paid him to take Rene away. Kuri offers to resign but they don't accept it. Efren offers Alex his friendship. She thanks him. He is willing to take care of her, forever if necessary. Roman asks Jimena who made the video. She swears she is innocent. She tells him she did it. She says she is single and alone, that's why she goes with men, with Tadeo, with Pablo. But, she tells him, when she loves somebody as she loves Roman she films herself so she won't feel better later. Jimena swears she doesn't know how the video got to Alex, that she wouldn't do anything to hurt him. She cries wonderfully. Roman tells her he will find out the truth. A customer flirts with Jackie, wnats to buy something for his cuñada, not as classy as she is. He is a widower, introduces himself as Moises, asks if he might ask her out one day. Kuri tells Alex that the girl he was with was a friend of Jimena's. Alex suggests to Kuri that Jimena planned it, that she has slept with Pablo and Tadeo. She tells Kuri that Jimena is trying to destroy the group. Kuri thinks she is wrong. Roman asks Alex why she believes la mala Jimena and not him. Alex tells him she simply can't. She's afraid because none of her relationships has worked out. Tadeo sees Jimena and Efren holding hands and laughing.Tadeo asks Efren what he has going with Jimena.

USA 7/22-26/02. 7/22/02. Jimena tells Kuri that she convinced her friend not to file charges, thus again undermining Alex and making her seem irrational. Ramon, Kuri, Tadeo, Pablo and Efren discuss the problem of Jimena, agree that Alex is not being objective and must deal with it herself. Efren supports Alex because there are lots of accountants. Rene gives roses to Edson and apologizes; Henry told him the truth.Edson tells Rene he can't trust him, asks him to leave. Fausto tells the men that Jimena should leave. Gloria calls Fausto from the house because there is a strange man in the office. He leaves before Fausto and Cristian arrives. There is a meeting at Fausto's in which he says that Jimena should leave. Efren says he would agree but she is indispensable: there is going to be an audit.Then Efren goes to the kitchen where he kisses and fondles Gloria. Fausto suggests that they pay Jimena to deal with the audit outside the office. Ramón is nominated to tell her. When he refuses to tell her who voted against her, she asked specifically about Efren, she becomes hysterical, says it isn't fair, will tell him who made the video. Meanwhile, Alex leaves a message for Efren accepting his offer to help her.
7/24/02. Fausto arrives at the hotel room after Efren leaves, finds Gloria in a bathrobe, has a heart attack. In the office, Jimena and Tadeo have sex in the office. Alex and Edson hear them through the door and spread the word. Then the news comes that Fausto is in the hospital. Everybody goes to the hospital except Jimena. When Efren arrives and hears the news, he is happy until he hears that Fausto is still alive. The two go to the hospital and see Gloria with Alex. Efren tells Jimena he has to keep Gloria from naming him. He gets her alone and calms her down a bit. Then he goes into Efren’s room and pulls the plug. Meanwhile, Mónica watches as Cristian takes a gun to go after Rolando. To stop him, she goes to Rolando and tries to seduce him with the idea of killing him herself. She eventually manages to knife him in the arm but they struggle.
7/25/02. The doctor finds Fausto in time but his condition deteriorates. Mónica is badly knifed in the stomach but escapes to the street. In the hospital Efren hears Jimena tell Pablo and Tadeo that she loves Roman. Cristian overhears Gloria and Efren talking about their relationship. In a bar, Kuri, Tadeo and Pablo talk about selling out their shares and going back to the stock market. Efren calls somebody to report on the status of the group (about to kill each other), visits Alex in her apartment, drugs her, undresses her. Jimena keeps Edson occupied.
7/26/02 - Roman finds Efren in Alex's apartment. Efren says he came over to talk, Alex felt sick, is in bed. Roman tells him to leave, says that Alex will never be alone again. Alex wakes up and tells Roman that Fausto has made her think about her life. If she died now, her life would have no sense, so many things she should have done, should have changed. Tadeo tries to find out what Jimena really feels. Roman warns Efren that he will support his friends: Cristian, etc. Alex tells Efren not to visit her again by surprise.Cristian tells Roman that Mónica is missing. Efren asks Jimena to take the organization's papers home with her; he wants to review them to figure out how to force the partners to sell out to him. Cristian tells Roman that Gloria hasn't been with Kuri but doesn't tell him it is Efren. Kuri tries to make up with Alex, but she accuses him of being Gloria's lover and won't listen to him.

ya que prefiere su vida de soltero y conquistador. Román y Fausto van a rescatar a Anabel y Clarita. Román y Ronaldo

7/29/02 - Efren hits Jimena, not sure why, something to do with the video and Alex. Pablo hears them talking about "so many years together". Cristian goes looking for Mónica but can't find her. Fausto asks Roman to take charge of his family and the firm, wants him to be the major shareholder with Cristian, trusts only him and Alex Roman agrees, provided that Fausto continue fighting. Pablo tells Jimena he is going to find out about her and her old friend Efren. She distracts him by trying to seduce him. Pablo tells her that Alex was right about her. Efren asks Kuri what happened between him and Alex, says that Ramon isn't much of a friend if he is keeping them apart. Jimena tells Efren about Pablo. The doctor tells Fausto and Gloria that he must remain calm, the crisis is over. Fausto asks Gloria to leave because she hurts him. Jimena tells Efren that Fausto is alive and well. Pablo talks with Alex about Jimena, but Alex says they can't do anything until there is proof of something. Pablo tells Alex that Tadeo has left Anabella for Jimena. Rene visits Edson in his store while he is having problems with a difficult customer. Rene begs for another chance. Edson says yes. Efren goes to the hospital, finds "blond" in the hospital near Fausto, drugs her. Alex tells Pablo that Adriana's talk about a scholarship in Monterrey is her way of asking him to ask her to stay. Efren tells Fausto that he is Gloria's lover, that with him out of the picture, he will have the firm. He tells him that Jimena and he have been married for 4 years, tells Fausto he can't die until he has heard all. Efren removes Fausto's oxygen and taunts him about the firm and Gloria as he dies. Pablo visits Adriana and learns that she has gone to Monterrey. Alex asks Edson to go with her; he finds himself at a psychiatric institution where her father is.
8/1/02 - When Roman returns home he finds Fausto alive and slightly paralyzed. Efren calls Jimena who tells him that many people want him dead, many people that he has hurt. He thinks of Ronaldo. Kuri calls Alex, tells her he doesn’t want to be alone. She asks him what is the problem; he tells her he is afraid, wants to spend the rest of his life, what remains of his life at her side. Adriana tells Pablo she doesn’t know what they are doing: fighting, drinking. Fausto tells Roman that all the problems in the office have been caused . Roman guesses that it is Fausto. Alex asks Kuri to be more clear. Kuri tells her he is going to fight for her, then hangs up. Fausto tells Roman that Jimena is the other person; the two have been lovers for many years. In addition, Efren seduced Gloria. Fausto goes into detail. He wants Efren dead (has a gun) not just in jail.Fausto tells Roman nobody else must know, not even Alex. Cristian assures Gloria that he doesn’t hate her, but he can’t forgive her either. She swears she didn’t want to hurt Fausto. She tells him it is over with Efren, that she will work the rest of her life to regain his confidence because he is her only family. Just then Efren arrives. Gloria tells Efren to leave. He threatens her with the loss of her house. Alex visits her father, talks to him about her life, has wanted to know why he never loved her, but she wants him to know that she forgives him. After she leaves, he says her name. The doctor tells Kuri he doesn’t have AIDS, but he does have leucemia. Roman asks Tadeo and Pablo to do their best not to lose their clients. Efren arrives. Gloria walks. Roman tells Efren to shut up. Efren suggests selling part of the consortium to pay debts. Edson introduces Rene to Jackie. She needs to talk with him, tells him that he was kissed in a shop. She liked it. But she feels bad, would it be cruel to Emiliano to ask for a divorce. Roman asks where Jimena is. She and the police arrive, accusing her of beating her up (which, of course, is what Efren did). He just smiles.

An older woman, Rufina, protects Alex, tells her that somebody paid the other
woman to hurt her. Efren pays the man he hired to arrange itl. Clarita tells
Pablo she feels bad because while Fausto was dying, she was in the hospital
sleeping. Pablo starts to wonder. Edson goes to the prison to talk with Roman.
Edson fixes things so that Roman can see her. Martin returns to Anabella’s
apartment for his wallet and finds Tadeo there with flowers. Anabella tells
Tadeo not to come back. Roman greets Alex in the hall. Alex tells him that un
tipo tried to kill her but her doesn’t seem to hear or believe her. Kuri visits
Jimena and asks her what Rene has to do in all of this. He demands that she
withdraw her charges against Alex. She refuses. He tells her that Alex couldn’t
have beaten her like that. She tells him that Alex will never be his; that
doesn’t matter to him. He grabs her and Rene hits him. Efren fools around with
two women until one of them says they will make him forget Jimena; he tells
them to leave. Roman tells Edson what Alex said; he recalls what Jimena told
him. Roman tries to declare that he beat up Jimena, but Edson stops him. Rubina
warns Alex that she is safe only as long as she, Rubina, is there. Martin tells
Tadeo to stay away from Anabella, points a gun at his head. Roman recalls
Jimena’s deal again. The doctor tells Fausto he shouldn’t have gone out (he was
spying on Gloria and Cristian). Fausto admits that he still loves Gloria.
Gloria goes to the office, talks to Pablo. Pablo asks Gloria what she knows of
Efren; Clarita told him that Efren was in the hospital that night. She fells
asleep and he was gone when she woke.
Gloria asks Efren what he did to Fausto. Pablo listens as Efren tells
her they had a romance and that was all. He doesn’t answer her question about
the hospital. Tadeo finds Kuri crying, asks what’s wrong. Kuri asks him what
would be most important to him if he knew he had only a short time to live:he’d
live intensely, drink, Anabella, etc. Gloria asks Pablo to forget what he
heard. Edson and Rene argue about Jimena, decide not to let her or Alex
separate them. Roman tells Fausto that it will be hard to get Alex out of jail,
Jimena doesn’t want money. Kuri visits Alex, swears that she will get out of
jail. Edson tells Jackie that Jimena is the half-sister of Rene. Pablo
threatens Efren, accuses him of being responsible for all the problems; Efren
threatens him in turn. Emiliano’s lawyer talks with Jackie, still doesn’t want
to see her, doesn’t ask about her. The lawyer tells her he could be in jail 10,
15 years. Jackie tells him to tell Emiliano that she wants a divorce. Ronaldo
visits Efren again in the office late at night, tells him he can do what he
likes and wants to be an associate of the group. If he doesn’t get it, he will
have to resort to more drastic measures. Pablo tells Adriana to take care of
his children if anything happens to him. Efren calls Gloria, tells her he
couldn’t kill Fausto. Kuri begs Jimena to get Alex out of jail. She says she
did it for Roman. Kuri asks her to help him, he is dying of leucemia. Mónica
calls Glroia and asks for help. Roman goes to Jimena, tells her he will do anything
8/9/02 - Kuri and Roman confront each other over Alex while she and Jimena confront each other over Roman. Kuri tells Roman he has lost. Jimena tells Alex that she fights for what she wants and she wants Roman. Gloria meets Efren in a bar, tells him to stop calling, sending flowers, etc. He tells her that he loves her. She kisses him back. Anabella meets Martin in a restaurant. Anabella breaks up with Martin. She tells him she doesn’t need a man to protect her, needs a man who will understand and respect her. He asks for another chance; she tells him that people don’t change. Jimena tells Roman that if she were Alex, she would never have let him go. If she could choose a father for her child, it would be him. Efren takes Gloria to a room; she leaves him at the last moment. Anabella tells Martin he makes her feel like a prisoner. She tells him that her husband was very violent, she believed he would change. She tells him that he is like a time bomb, that love is not commands. Tadeo introduces Sr. Jimenez to the group. Clarita enters and asks Ronaldo what he is doing here. Roman tells the group that Ronaldo is a killer. Ronaldo tells Roman he is mistaken. Efren smiles. Roman asks Tadeo where he met him; Tadeo tells him that Efren introduced them. Fausto confronts Efren.Cristian asks Gloria why she and her lover killed Fausto. Gloria admits she saw Efren but she is not a killer. Efren tells Fausto that his wife, son, friends, and business are in his hands. Efren tells him he would try to kill him again, falsify papers, etc. to get what he wants. Fausto tells him that a winner doesn’t show all his cards to the enemy. Efren draws a gun on Fausto. Fausto tells him to shoot but remember that he has already tried and failed. The police enter with guns drawn. Roman tells Tadeo who Roanldo is but Tadeo doesn’t believe him. Clarita asks Ronaldo for an explanation. The cop shoots Efren; Efren shoots the cop and escapes. Martin sees Efren trying to get into Tadeo’s house. Anabella arrives and sees the two of them. The police go to the office looking for Efren and start asking questions. The police tell them that Efren is wanted for fraud and attempted murder. Anabella asks Martin what he is doing at Tadeo’s house. Edson tells Jackie he doesn’t know what will happen with Rene, because of Jimena. Jackie tells him she is leaving today. Edson tells Jackie she is very important to him, will always be in his thoughts. Anabella comes to the office, asks Tadeo what is going on. Edson says goodbye to Jackie and her new man. Clarita runs into Cristian, both looking for Ronaldo. Cristian tells Clarita that Ronaldo is a killer, killed Mónica, and a criminal. Clarita doesn’t believe him. Efren sees Jimena leaving with a suitcase. Efren tells her that she is as guilty as he. Roman gets a message from Jimena, fears for her. As Jimena tries to run away from Efren, he grabs her. He answers the cell phone, hangs up, points a gun at Jimena, says she is going with him. Clarita doesn’t believe anything that Cristian is saying, but they hide when Ronaldo enters with his henchman. They hear the two talk. Roman arrives in a taxi just as Efren is getting in the car with Jimena.

8/12-16/02. 8/12/02 - Roman calls Alex who is with Pablo, Kuri and Anabella. He follows Efren who has kidnapped Jimena. Clarita finally learns that Ronaldo is a criminal. Anabella gets a message setting up a meeting. Jimena escapes; Roman finds her and says she can stay with him. Anabella goes to the site and finds Fausto who won’t let her near him. Fausto tells Gloria all that Efren told him. She swears she didn’t know what he was doing, but he doesn’t believe her. He asks her why. She tells Fausto he gave her everything except passion. Roman tells Jimena to rest or she may lose her baby. Fausto tells Gloria that Efren and Jimena used her to destroy him and his group. He tells her to leave. Efren rests with a bullet wound in his chest. Clarita starts to get rid of all of Ronaldo’s clothes. Roman tells the group there problems aren’t over because Ronaldo is now a partner. Jimena won’t tell Tadeo and Pablo who is the father of her baby. Román overhears Kuri and Alex, learns that he has leucemia and is going to die. Cristian and Clarita find Gloria very drunk. Jimena tells Alex she will spend the 7 months of her pregnancy in Roman’s apartment. Efren calls Ronaldo who helps him. Rene visits Jimena. Alex tells Román she loves him more than her life but must be with Kuri. Tadeo gets drunk. Adriana tells Pablo she wants his baby. He tells her “when the time comes”. Roman tells Jimena he will probably go to London.
8/14/02. Roman tells Jimena there is no way he will do what they ask. Rene gives Edson 3 hours to give him an answer. As he walks away from the apartment, he is followed by Ronaldo’s henchman who bumps into him, tells him that Jimena is easy. Rene chases him and in a dark place is caught and kidnapped. Genaro (el portero) calls Clarita, tells her that a strange, fine man with a young boy is in her apartment. Martin, Pablo, Gloria, Tado and Adriana talk about the kidnapping. Then Clarita calls. Roman and Fausto talk about Jimena. Roman tells Fausto he won ‘t do what she asked, knows what kind of woman Jimena is, but must, OTOH, protect her. The police and group go to the building. Sebastian escapes and is found safe and sound. Efren escapes. After Pablo takes Sebastian home, he blames Adriana and tells her to leave. Rene calls Edson, tells him he’s been kidnapped. Clarita thanks Genaro and tells him she will never go back to Ronaldo who then walks in. Efrem tells Edson he will exchange Rene for Jimena.Anabella takes Martin home with her, thanks him, tells him she doesn’t love Tadeo and kisses him. Clarita tells Ronaldo to leave. Roman packs to leave his apartment when Alex arrives. Roman tells Alex he’s going to a hotel until Jimena is safe. They agree they are doing what is best for Kuri. Roman leaves. Alex looks at Jimena then leaves. But Jimena is sure she can convince Roman to take her with him. Edson confronts Jimena, asks her where Efren is holding Rene. Alex visits her father. He asks her why she is there. She says she is trying to find out why she makes so many mistakes. He tells her he is in a psychiatric hospital because of his drinking but isn’t crazy. She tells him she understands him better now. He asks her to forgive him and she does. Kuri wakes up in the morning to find Gloria with him. She tells him that Alex had to leave for a while. Kuri calls Roman’s apartment. Jimena tells him that Roman didn’t spend the night there. Alex has spent the whole time talking to her father about Kuri and Roman. He tells Alex the decision is easy. Love is what matters. She says “I have to end it with Kuri, right?”. He says yes. She kisses him goodbye. Adriana sees Pablo packing up his car. He tells her that he and the children are going away. Pablo tells Adriana that she has never wanted to be a mother. She walks away. Gloria returns to the bedroom and finds Kuri gone. Alex calls Roman, Roman appears at her door and asks her what the emergency is. She kisses him. Jimena tells Edson it must be Ronaldo. Edson wants to call the police; Jimena tells him that will put Rene in danger. Edson tells her that Efren wants her, does she want him to kill her brother. Alex tells Roman he is the man of her life. Kuri opens the door and sees the two undressing each other.
8/16/02 - Edson knocks out Roman. Efren discovers that Jimena is wearing a wire. Edson confronts him and is shot. Jimena gets in the car. Martin shoots at Efren, runs after in. Jimena tries to help Edson. Cristian confronts Ronaldo and ?, is beaten up by them. Rene manages to untie himself, runs out of the garage. Cristian escapes. Clarita faints when she sees fausto. Tadeo and Pablo find her. She tells them. They assure her that Fausto is dead. All four (Edson, Roman, Jimena, Martin) are back in the car; Rene calls Edson, tells him he is ok. Alex visits her father; he got hold of alcohol and is doing badly. She remembers seeing him beat up her mother when he was drunk. She leaves him. Anabella can’t believe what Gloria has told her, that Fausto is alive, says that Cristian must know. Fausto tells his man not to leave Cristian, who escaped, alone again. Fausto tells his doctor he tried to find some papers in the office, can’t sell his group to those corrupt people. Rene greets Edson in the hospital, wounded in the arm but ok. Rene tells him he was held by Ronaldo, in cahoots with Efren. Martin looks on, obviously uncomfortable. Alex returns to Kuri, tells him about her father. Jimena tells Roman she won’t feel safe until Efren is caught, has to go some place safe. She begs Roman to help her. He agrees to take her with him to London. Fausto goes to his house, hears Clarita and Cristian talking as they enter. Cristian tells her he wishes he could see his father again. Clarita tells Cristian that Kuri is very sick. Fausto sneaks out, goes to visit Kuri. Kuri doesn’t seem overly surprised. Alex goes to Roman’s apartment. Roman tells her he is going to London, with Jimena. Rene takes care of Edson. Edson asks Rene who called him. Rene tells him it was a friend he doesn’t know. Edson wonders why he is so nervous. Edson says he has a right to know Rene’s friends, as he knows Edson’s friend. Rene admits it was a former lover, Alejandro. The relationship failed because he was a drunk. Edson asks Rene how he can trust him if he hides such things. It was just a person in his past, no longer wants anything to do with him. Edson asks if there is anything else he needs to know, tells Rene he won’t take another lie. Roman insists there is nothing between him and Jimena but must take her away for her safety. Alex asks Roman not to leave. Roman says he doesn’t want to lose this opportunity. Alex tells him that she is going to marry Kuri. Jimena appears, laughs when Alex leaves. Fausto tells Kuri he would give his life for him, wants to apologize for believing that he had something to do with Gloria. Fausto tells Kuri a friend of his has talked with the best cancer specialists in the country and they will help him. Gloria has a nightmare about Efren. Roman and Tadeo talk, tells Tadeo that Jimena wants him to take her to London, recognize her child. Tadeo tells him she would be winning the lottery. Anabella thanks Martin for what he did for Jimena.She kisses him, agrees to go with him to a more comfortable place. Tadeo tells Pablo about his talk with Roman, admits he can’t forget Anabella. Anabella starts to make love to Martin (on top). He stops her, starts dressing, tells her that as a man he is used to be in control, to take the initiative. He leaves. Tadeo and Pablo wonder who is the father of Jimena’s child. Tadeo says they should insist on a DNA test. Pablo asks if Tadeo would marry her. He says yes. Pablo says he wouldn’t. The next day the group holds a meeting. Alex tells them that the doctor is looking for a bone marrow transplant. All agree to see if one of them is compatible. Then Roman says they must talk about the audit which is likely to lose them work. Roman says only a milagro will save them. Fausto appears to the surprise of those who didn’t know he was alive. Anabella calls Martin but gets no answer. Edson and Rene visit Jimena to thank her for what she did for Rene. Edson asks Jimena about Rene’s past. Jimena tells Edson she has never known or cared about his past. She does advise him to investigate Rene’s past, no telling what kind of surprises he may find. Fausto tells the group they need a way to demonstrate their innocence. Fausto says that first they must find Efren, second must stay united, and must decide what to do for Kuri. All say a friendly goodbye to Fausto. Gloria tries to talk with him privately, but he refuses. Alex learns that she isn’t compatible with Kuri. Alex tells Roman they have to try to act like the associates they are. He says it isn’t possible. Clarita tells them it is good to know that Fausto is not a ghost, gives Roman the tickets for London. .

USA 8/19-23/02. 8/19/02 - Alex and Roman argue about Jimena and London. The group and Fausto discuss what they can do for liquidity and to recover their clients. Anabella calls Alex, tells her that Martin called her a golfa because she took the initiative and left. Anabella tells her she doesn’t know what to do. Alex asks her if she really wants a relationship with a machista? Roman visits Kuri to say goodye; he’ll be leaving for London in a few days. Kuri is sorry that the love for a woman has destroyed their friendship.
Alex tells Fausto she can’t ask Roman to wait for her, is going to marry Kuri. . Fausto tells Alex to be sure not to hurt herself or anybody, asks her when she plans to marry. She says after Roman goes to London.
Edson calls Rene at work because he forgot his briefcase, discovers he hasn’t gone to Guadalajara for a meeting. Edson calls Alex, tells her that Rene lied to him, said he was going to Guadalajare for business but it was a lie, another lie.
Gloria tries to talk with Fausto in the office. She tells him she can’t excuse/explain what she did but she has learned from her error. Gloria swears that she will dedicate her life to getting his forgiveness, for making up for all the harm she has done. The phone rings, she doesn’t answer until Fausto prompts her to, says it could be Efren. And it is. She tells him to leave her in peace. Fausto takes the phone, tells him he is garbage, will end up in jail. Fausto won’t let her talk to him again. Gloria tells Fausto that he isn’t like this, can’t live with such hatred. He tells her he was the bad man, the coward who couldn’t face his problems while she was the poor abandoned woman. He tells her he doesn’t want to see her, doesn’t want to forgive her, is going to destroy Efren.
Tadeo asks Anabella for a chance; she tells him she is in love with Martin.
Roman hears Alex tell Kuri she will marry him. Roman wishes them happiness and success in his treatment. Kuri wishes Roman luck in London.
Fausto goes to Cristian, apologizes for hurting him, tells him how much Gloria’s betrayal hurts.
Time passes. The group undergoes tests of compatibility. Fausto decorates a Christmas tree with Cristian. Gloria is alone. Anabetlla gets flowers. Tadeo and Pablo put up a Christmas tree. Alex cares for Kuri.
Alex tells Edson that Roman goes to London tomorrow. Edson doesn’t understand Alex’s decision. Edson reminds her what kind of man Kuri was; how does being sick change him?
Efren calls Gloria. She tells him to leave her in peace but doesn’t hang up. Clarita agrees her arranging to meet somebody. Ronaldo tells Efren he doesn’t understand Efren’s attachment to Gloria. Gloria goes to his room with a gun. She tells him she doesn’t care what happens to her, shoots him.

8/22/02 - The bone marrow transplant takes place.
Ronaldo shows up at the office. Fausto tries to get rid of him, but Ronaldo shows him the legal papers and ther results of the audit, says there is nothing he can do.
Clarita tells Ronaldo he can keep her locked up but can’t make her love him. He asks her what makes her think that he wants her love. If not, she says, why is he keeping her? He doesn’t answer and leaves the room. She tries to get out, but the door is locked..
Efren gets into the hospital, into Roman’s room, dressed as a doctor and with a gun. Fausto finds them and distracts Efren while Roman manages to break a water jug over his head. Efren and Fausto struggle, Efren flees the room. Fausto shoots him as he reaches the end of the hall. He hauls himself up, turns and aims his gun at Fausto. Fausto shoots him. Before he dies, he tells Jimena he did everything for her, makes her promise to have their son.
Genaro calls Cristian, tells him he thinks that Ronaldo is keeping Clarita by force. Cristian joins Genaro at the apartment building.
Rene arrives at Edson’s shop and sees his wife Amparo. She tells him she is there for his birthday and they go out to eat. Edson remains behind, shocked. They’ve been married for 6 years. At dinner, Rene admits that he has fallen in love and, pressed by Amparo, tells her the woman’s name is Anabella. She slaps him and leaves, goes to Edson and tells him she wants to know about the other woman.
Back in the consulturio, Fausto and the guys discuss what they can do about Ronaldo.
Kuri tells Alex he wants to marry the next week.
Back in his apartment, Jimena tells Roman he has no right to yell at her, he is in control of his life. He realizes that she is correct and, to her disgust with herself, walks out and goes to Alex who is trying on her wedding gown.
Anabella and Gloria talk about Efren’s death. Gloria feels relieved but, at the same, still doesn’t understand how she could have been involved with such a man.

8/23/02 - Roman tells Alex she can’t marry. She tells him she gave Kuri her word, no matter where they went, Kuri would always be between them. Alex begs Roman not to take Jimena with him. He replies that he too made a promise. Amparo goes to Roman’s apartment and introduces herself to Jimena as Rene’s wife.
Genaro and Cristian get into Clarita’s apartment. When Ronaldo draws a gun on them, Clarita tells them that Ronaldo is her novio and they are going to marry. As soon as they leave, she moves away from Ronaldo. He tells her she isn’t going to work, is going to stay home. She can’t get out of the room, the phone doesn’t work.
Amparo begs Edson to help her. He tells her he can’t. Rene arrives, asks Edson what he told her. Edson asks for an explanation. Rene tells him it is hard to explain. Edson tells him that it was hard for him to come out of the closet and it, too, was because of a woman. He was almost ready to marry Laura (didn’t seem like it) until he appeared. Rene tells Edson he didn’t tell him because he didn’t want to lose him. Edson tells Rene he didn’t tell her anything, but not for him, for her. He tells Rene to leave. Amparo tells Jimena that he spoke of her a few times, she found out her address and thought she could help. Jimena admits that she didn’t know he was married but doesn’t interfere much in Rene’s life. Amparo tells her she isn’t prepared to lose her husband to that Anabel. Jimena laughs. Rene visits Jimena and she tells him about Amparo’s visit. Jimena promises to talk with Edson. Jimena goes to Edson, swears she just found out, warns Edson about Amparo, says she is capable of killing him if she discovers the truth. She tells Edson that Rene isn’t worth the effort. She can’t believe he can’t find a better man. He calls her a snake. She leaves. Meanwhile, Amparo goes to Anabella’s house, slaps her and tells her to stay away from her husband.
Alex visits Edson, tells him she is going to lose Roman, tells Edson she can’t break her word. Edson tells her she can’t ask Roman to stay while she marries Kuri.Alex tells him she is going to end it with Kuri. Edson tells her she can’t be that cruel, to do it now. Alex tells him she can’t fight her feelings, ask for his help. He tells her he can’t, it isn’t right. Edson tells her about Rene and Amparo.
Ronaldo interrupts a meeting of Fausto, Pablo and Tadeo.The conversation stops.
Roman suggests they all sell out then from a new group. Fausto doesn’t want to give up. After the others leave, Roman tells Fausto he has an idea: change the ticket to Alex’s name and take her with him. Roman calls the travel agent and changes the name on the ticket. Fausto accuses him of fleeing. The least he can do is tell Kuri the truth. It is a question of ethics.
Tadeo goes to the hospital, talks with Kuri, gives him all the papers he needs for his wedding.
Alex visits her father who begs her to take him out of there, says they beat him. Alex tells her he has to continue his treatment.
Anabella and Gloria laugh. Alex visits them, tells them about Roman’s request. Anabella tells Alex that Martin is married, came and slapped her. The three get drunk.
Roman visits Kuri who tells him that he and Alex will marry within a week, would like him to be there. Roman tells him he won’t be in Mexico next week.
Alex goes to Roman’s apartment, tells Jimena she is going to fight for her man. Then she goes to Kuri’s hospital room. He tells her they will marry in a week por el civil. The doctor tells the two of them that he is doing well. Kuri tells the doctor he is going to marry.
Martin arrives at Anabella’s door, on his knees. Drunk, she tells him to leave. He tells her he has been thinking and she is right. He forces his way in. He tells her he is afraid of being sensitive, of loving. She tells him that hiw wife came today and hit her. He tells her he isn’t married. She slaps him and asks him to leave.
Cristian tells Fausto that Ronaldo has Clarita locked up. He and Genaro went to get her. Fausto tells him that Ronaldo wants to get rid of them, would kill him without thinking twice. Cristian assures him he needn’t worry about him.
In the bar, Roman tells Fausto, Pablo and Tadeo he isn’t going to Alex’s wedding, will leave things as they are. Jimena and Amparo go to the same bar. Jimena tells Roman she must talk with him, says that Alex came to the apartment, threatened her, could’ve hurt their child. Roman tells her to stop bothering him, it isn’t their child.Pablo tells Tadeo the blonde (Amparo) is looking at him.Tadeo introduces himself to her. Roman tells Fausto he is leaving. Jimena stops him. Roman tells her he can’t stand her anymore, she never lets him along. Fausto tells Jimena to leave him alone. Jimena tells them that he loves Roman. Roman repeats again that he doesn’t love her. Jimena threatens him.
Rene tells Edson he didn’t know he was gay until after he married. Edson tells him that he deceived him. When Rene asks what he must do, Edson tells him to divorce Amparo. .
Alex returns to an empty apartment. Roman drives and stops. Jimena opens up a bottle of pills.

USA 8/26-30/02. USA 8/26/02. Roman convinces Alex to marry him and go to London with him. But then Jimena, having taken a bunch of pills, calls Alex for help and the two take her to the hospital. Alex tells him their love is impossible, too many people would be hurt. Back home, Jimena tells Roman her life makes no sense without him and he agrees to take her to London. Alex tells Kuri she is going away for a “vacation”, will be back in time for the wedding. She drives off to a place she is sure nobody knows about.
When, at the bar, Amparo mentions that she likes to shop, Tadeo offers to introduce her to a friend of his. Edson meets Juan Carlos, the son of Rene. Rene explains to Edson that he could easily tell Amparo the truth but not his son. The next day, Tadeo goes to Edson’s home to introduce a friend, then goes for Amparo. When she sees Rene and Edson, Rene grabs her by the arm and takes her away. Edson tells Tadeo that she is the wife of his novio.
Clarita puts sleeping pills in Ronaldo’s drink and escapes after he falls asleep. Genaro takes her to Cristian. The next day, when Ronaldo wakes up, he goes after Genaro and threatens to kill him (strangle him) if he doesn’t tell where Clarita is.

USA, 8/29/02 - Christmas Eve. The different couples, friends celebrate, recall Christmas pasts.
Tadeo takes Amparo to her hotel room, kisses her, feels guilty, leaves.
Martin takes Anabella home, they kiss. He feels uncomfortable; in his family one didn’t talk of sex. He admits that he has never before had a formal relationship, only casual encounters. She is different.
The doctor says that Kuri should be hospitalized, but Alex cares for him again. Kuri seems to get better, spends Christmas eve with Alex. Alex’s father comes. Seeing the apartment, he tells her he is proud of her, but a bit later he asks for “something stronger” and Alex recalls living with a father who was always drunk. Kuri tries to comfort her. The three talk a bit. Alex’s father recalls a past Christmas, then says he should return to the hospital. Alex takes him.
Rene and Edson go home. There is a message for Rene: Amparo has taken Juan Carlos. Rene goes to Amparo who calls him a pervert. She tells him that soon Juan Carlos won’t be his son. As Rene and Edson celebrate Christmas eve, Rene tells Edson his best Christmas eve present was the death of his father. Edson tells Rene he was very lucky: his family was very understanding. He didn’t have to struggle until after he left his family. They make a toast: Rene for the recovery of his son and Edson that Amparo will understand the difference between being gay and being a good father.
Tadeo and Pablo visit Roman for Christmas eve. Jimena gives all three presents. Adriana arrives with her cousin Margarita. Tadeo likes Margarita.
Clarita, Cristian and Fausto celebrate Christmas eve. Teresa arrives. She gives presents to Fausto and Cristina then says goodbye. Fausto misses Gloria.
Gloria and Anabella celebrate. Then Martin arrives with presents for all. But his gift for her son is a toy gun. Anabella becomes furious. Gloria tells him that Tomás kidnapped them, then committed suicide with a gun. Gloria tells Anabella it wasn’t intentional; she says she knows it. Martin’s gift for Anabella is the latest in vacuum cleaners. Anabella goes to Gloria, tells her not to call, then tells her about the gift. Both laugh.
Christmas day: Roman gives Alex a present. Kuri says he wants to talk with the two of them. Kuri tells them he is going to leave them alone and he is going to stop all treatment, just wants to rest.

9/2/02 - Roman asks Alex what she plans with Kuri. She tells him she doesn’t know. Today she doesn’t love him but in the future who knows. He admits he is still planning to go to London
Jimena arranges with Ronaldo for Alex to have a severe accident on New Year’s Eve. She tells him she has figured out how to pass everything into his name.
Rene tells Edson he is going back to Amparo and his son, if she lets him.
Fausto holds a meeting. Kuri attends, Alex, Pablo, Roman, Tadeo. Fausto tells him that the group can’t exist with Ronaldo; the group is breaking up. Roman is going to London. Kuri resigns, says he going to take a trip. Kuri tells them he is not going to continue therapy. He has come only to inform them, not to argue. Fausto thanks them all but the truth is that it is over. He prefers to leave now than see their venture degraded. He recommends that they not touch the money which is dirty and will, sooner or later, hurt them.
Alex asks Kuri if he would stay if she marries him. She swears it isn’t a sacrifice. She swears to Kuri that she is telling the truth. Kuri asks repeatedly if she is sure. She tells him she is so sure she wants them to get married at once.
Fausto warns Roman to be careful about Jimena, she was talking with Ronaldo in the morning. Roman questions Jimena, but Clarita interrupts them to tell Roman that Alex and Kuri are getting married. Roman calls Alex, and she tells him it is true. Roman tells her he will believe her only if she tells him to his face.But at the registry, they are told they can’t marry today. There is a system of appointments. They make one for the next morning at 9:00.
Tadeo tells Edson that he slept with Amparo; Jimena overhears. She also overhears Roman tells Edson and Tadeo that Alex is marrying Kuri. But it doesn’t change her plans to have Alex killed.
Fausto tells Ronaldo he has won, all is his.
When Roman returns home, Jimena tells him that Alex and Kuri are married. She massages him, turns off the phone. She gives him a large drink.
Edson grabs Alex as soon as she gets home, learns the marriage is for the next day. Edson asks her why she insists on making this mistake.
Edson goes to Roman’s apartment the next morning, finds Roman and Jimena partly undressed. Edson says he tried to call Roman all night. Roman admits he slept with Jimena because he thought that Alex and Kuri were married. Edson threatens Jimena.
Ronaldo tells Caballo he must get rid of somebody and make it seem to be an accident.
Kuri and Alex arrive at 9:00. Roman arrives just as Alex is about to sign. But she signs and Kuri signs and they are wed. Afterwards, Alex tells Roman they couldn’t be happy knowing that others would suffer. Kuri tells Roman he, too, is surprised. Roman wishes him joy.
Teresa tells Gloria she is going to win back Fausto. Gloria tells her she will fight for her family.
Ronaldo visits Jimena in Roman’s apartment. She demands to know why he is there. He reminds her he wants full pament when she sees Alex’s cadaver. Roman and Edson return to his apartment before Ronaldo leaves. He hides. Romantells Jimena they are going to head to the plane now, doesn’t want to talk about Alex and Kuri.
Pablo talks with Adriana, apologizes to her for blaming her for the kidnapping of Sebastian. She tells him that she didn’t understand his reaction then but does now. She tells him that she is pregnant. Pablo tells her he is happy, wants to marry her. They hug and kiss. He gets down on his knees and proposes. She accepts.
Kuri takes Alex home. She insists that as her wedding present he see the doctor today. He tells her he wants to go because he wants to be healthy for her, wants to have many children. Kuri undergoes tests. Alex waits and recalls her last conversation with Roman. She calls Roman’s apartment and Jimena answers. The doctor tells Kuri that the transplant wasn’t effective, they must seek other alternatives.
Edson visits Amparo to beg her not to take Rene’s son from him. He promises not to tell Rene about Tadeo. Amparo tells Rene she will give him a divorce and arrange visiting rights. He assures her that he never intended to hurt her. She begs him not to abandon his son. He swears he won’t. They hug. She asks him for some time to assimilate everything. Rene tells his son he is going with his mother, will see him soon. But Amparo lets Sebastian stay with him, asks Rene not to let him see “strange” things.
Roman takes leave of his friends (Fausto, Pablo, Anabella, Tadeo, Clarita, Cristian) in his apartment Gloria arrives. Roman asks them to care for Alex and Kuri. Fausto wishes him the best. Roman gives Fausto the keys to his apartment. In another room, Jmena gloats. Roman and Jimena leave.
Kuri walks home. Alex waits for him, then goes to Roman’s apartment. Alex arrives after they leave. The plane takes off.

9/3/02 - The friends talk. Fausto reminds Alex that she is married now and made a choice, she should try to make her husband happy.
Fausto admits to Cristian that he still loves Gloria. Cristian tries to convince him to forgive her. Fausto asks Cristian if he would forgive a woman who cheated on him; Cristian says it would depend.
Alex arranges a lovely dinner for Kuri and asks what the doctor said. Kuri lies, says that he will recover soon.
While Gloria and Anabella are talking about Fauston in a bar, he enters.
Jimena and Roman arrive in London.
Martin and Anabella walk and talk. She asks if he had something to do with the cancellation of her job appointment with Mandiola. He did it without telling her or asking her consent. She tells him that she asked him to respect her, he promised to try, but he hasn’t. He tries to explain, but she won’t let him. She tells him it is over between them.
Alex calls Roman in London but hangs up when Jimena answers. Then she visits her father who is surprised that she married Kuri and not Roman. He tells her that Kuri needs to confront his problems on his own. Ronaldo’s goon follows her there. Then Ronaldo and the goon go to the asylum. When her father sees them, he tries to call Roman (Alex accidentally left the card with him). He leaves a message for Roman that Alex is in danger. The nurse thinks they are his sobrinos and doesn’t believe him when he says he doesn’t know them. But the nurse sees them walk him out and she calls Alex.
Edson tries to make friends with Juan Carlos but doesn’t have much luck.
Jimena asks Roman to try to enjoy himself.

9/4/02 - Kuri won’t let Edson take him to the hospital. But when he collapses, Edson calls the medics.
Alex goes to the clinic and asks the nurse how they could let two unknown men take a patient away. (A darn good question.) Alex talks with Fausto who recalls seeing Jimena with Rodolfo.
Roman tells Jimena he is going back to Mexico.
Edson finally gets hold of Alex. She goes to the hospital, learns that Kuri’s transplant didn’t work, that he may die within a day.
Ronaldo and Caballo take Alex’s father to a deserted building and set up a bomb. They kill the man who made the bomb.
Fausto goes, alone of course, after Ronaldo with a gun and is, of course, subdued by Caballo. Alone with Caballo, Fausto challenges him to shoot. They grapple, a shot is fired. Caballo is shot. Cristian finds them.
Ronaldo calls Alex, who is in the hospital, tells her he has her father and where she must come.
Roman arrives and Edson takes him to the hospital, tells him about Kuri and Alex’s father.
Alex goes to Fausto’s house. Cristian tells her that he hasn’t returned. She leaves and drives away.
Jimena, back in Roman’s apartment, calls Ronaldo to warn him that Roman is back in town and knows about Alex’s father. When Rene calls Roman’s apartment, Jimena answers. Rene tells her that Roman has gone after Alex who has gone after her father.
Alex’s father manages to get out of the shed.
Roman catches up with Alex who insists on looking all over for her father. Then Jimena appears, struggles with Alex, and looks for Roman.

9/5/02 - Ronaldo sets off the bomb. Caballo tells Cristian and Fausto there is a bomb. A waiter shoots one of Caballo’s men who tries to stop them. Alex, Roman and her father are ok. Ronaldo calls somebody. Alex and Roman go to the hospital and talk with Edson and Rene. Fausto and Cristian arrive. Roman tells Fausto they have to find Ronaldo. Alex asks Kuri why he lied; he tells her it is because he loves her, wants to spend his last days making her happy. The doctor tells Alex that Kuri is stable, but needs a different treatment, not all patients are the same. Ronaldo has somehow captured Clarita and Gloria, tells them that Fausto is with God. Pablo and Tadeo arrive at the hospital. Pablo tells Tadeo he is going to marry Adriana.
Genaro, Ramon and Fausto find Ronaldo and the women. Genaro is wounded. The police arrive and shoot Ronaldo. The dying Ronaldo tells Clarita he loves her. She tells him she loves him a lot. Ronaldo dies.
Jimena was badly burned and injured by the bomb blast and is in the hospital. Rene asks her what she did.
Román and Fausto (with Gloria) return to the hospial. Román and Alex embrace. Gloria asks Alex what is she going to do. Alex tells her that she is married to Kuri.
Román and Kuri talk about their friendship and mutual love for Alex.
Gloria tries to talk with Fausto.
Alex tells Román that the doctor has suggested another treatment. Rene tells Alex and Roman that Jimena isn’t doing well. She is badly burned and has lost her baby. Román visits her, tells her he is sorry.
Fausto suggests to the group that they meet at his home the next day to discuss what they will do next. Kuri asks to see them all. The group prepares for a secret celebration in the hospital of Kuri’s birthday: each comes with a hidden bottle or other prohibited goody.
Time passes. Kuri leaves the hospital, alone.

GRAN FINAL. 9/6/02 - Kuri celebrates his brithday in the hospital with the help of his friends bringing in contraband liquor.
Kuri leaves the hospital.When his friends arrive they are surprised to find him gone. The doctor tells them he has gone and the bill is paid.
Cristian gets a hand-delivered letter from his real mother, apologizing for leaving him as a child. She acknowledges that his real mother is Gloria and says goodbye. Gloria arrives and he shows her the letter. Gloria tells him it is not his fault, he shouldn’t feel guilty. He tells her he doesn’t, but he remembers the night she left when he was 4. Then he did think it was his fault. She told him she would return. He waited but she never came. He remembers his father crying. Then she, Gloria, came. Cristian tells her he doesn’t hate his mother. Gloria and Cristian hug. Fausto arrives, tries to tell Cristian he got a card but Cristian tells him that he, too, got a card. Gloria offers to leave, but Fausto asks her to stay. Cristian shows him his letter. Cristian says he is ok, has him and Gloria. Fausto tells them that her letter to him wished him luck, although he didn’t need it. Gloria asks him if her rapid exit from his life again hurt him. He says no. She admits she was jealous. Fausto tells Gloria he thinks it is worthwhile for them to try to begin again, no promises and step by step. She accepts. Cristian watches them hold hands.
Rene is with Jimena when she starts to have trouble breathing. Rene calls a nurse, says the danger is past. Jimena tells Rene she wants to die. She asks why it couldn’t have been Alex. [I think].
Roman and the others look everywhere for Kuri. In her apartment, Alex finds flowers and a card from Kuri. Tadeo tells Alex to accept his decision. Roman arrives and reads the letter. Alex has an idea, remembers going with him to his school, his favorite place as a child. Alex finds him. He tells her otherwise he could never have left the hospital. He tells her he wants a divorce, has talked with a lawyer, the papers are being drawn up. He tells her that when he got leucemia, he felt he had the right to have whatever he wanted, including her, but on their wedding night, he realized that she didn’t love him. She tells him he’s wrong. He tells her that her love wasn’t the same. Then the transplant failed. He tells her he is going to travel, doesn’t want to be responsible for or to anybody. They play basketball.
6 meses despues. Fausto speaks to the group, welcoming them to their new office and their new associate: Kuri. Alex introduces Kuri to Elena, un bon bon.
Rene talks with Jimena who is still depressed. He tells her she can’t stay locked up forever. She asks him why he didn’t let her die in the hospital. He tells her he loves her. She tells him nobody loves her, can love her. Her face is badly scarred.
In the office, Alex tells Roman he has a couple of hours yet to repent. He tells her the prize life gave them was years of friendship, confidences followed by an unexpected love. Soon they will be on their honeymoon. They kiss.
In Edson’s shop, Pablo and a very pregnant Adriana tell Fausto that Roman and Alex marry today. Tadeo is with a new woman and Gloria is with Fausto. Rene is with Edson. They joke with each other.
On the wedding day, Edson tries calling Alex at home, calling Roman, calling her cell phone, gets no answer. Tadeo and ?, Pablo and Adrian go to Roman’s apartment but nobody else is there. Anabella and Gloria join Pablo and Adriana, say that Alex and Roman weren’t at the church. Tadeo and his partner return. Cristian arrives. Edson is worried, doesn’t think that either Alex or Roman would turn off their cellphones. He and Rene barge into Alex’s apartment. Genaro goes to Roman’s apartment, reports that the priest told him there isn’t any wedding planned. Fausto enters Roman’s apartment. Then Fausto gets a call from Roman who tells them where to go, says Alex is with him. They go to a forest and run into Edson. They find Roman and Alex in a circle of flowers. Edson tells them they almost gave him a heart attack. Roman tells the men to take off their jackets and ties. Finally, Kuri arrives, gives Roman a hug, gives Alex a hug. Roman gets a call from his mother. He passes the phone to Alex. Edson tells them that Jackie has sent her love, too. The priest arrives and marries Alex and Roman. Kuri looks on. Roman and Alex swear that neither will ever be able to get rid of the other.
Night
comes. Alex and Roman make love. In the morning they walk on a beach, walk into
the ocean, kiss (in almost transparent white “veils”, make love on the sand. A
final kiss. FIN.
