Telenovela
infantil en donde Imanol consigue su primer protagónico interpretando a
Felipín, un niño huérfano que naufraga en un barquito. Su madre pierde la
memoria y el tiene que aprender a vivir con una linda desconocida que le salva
la vida. Natalia Esperón interpreta a la inocente y buena mujer que salva al
pequeño de la muerte.
Sinópsis
Felipín y su
madre iban a reunirse con Don Alfonso Cáceres de Ribera, Duque de Oriol. Un
rico hacendado español cuando el barco en el que viajaban se hundió, dejando a
Felipín y a Magdalena solos en una lancha sin rumbo fijo.
Felipín naufragó
y viajó en un barquito por largos días hasta llegar a casa de Nisa, una bella joven que salva al pequeño niño de la
muerte. Nisa es una mujer que vive junto a la playa y trabaja de alfarera en su
casa para mantenerse, al encontrar a Felipín su vida cambia por completo.
Nadie puede
explicar como fue que el niño llegó hasta ahí. Al reponerse con los cuidados de
Nisa, Felipín le cuenta que viajaba con su madre en un barco que se hundió. Al
llevarlo al hospital, se encuentran con algunos sobrevivientes del naufragio y
un marinero les cuenta que vió morir a la madre de Felipín, pero no sabe que en
realidad fue su tía, que viajaba con ellos, la que realmente murió.
Felipín se
siente y Nisa permite que se quede con ella a vivir. Lo que el niño no sabe es
que su madre está viva recorriendo las calles del pueblo pero ha perdido la
memoria. Lena, la madre de Felipín cae en manos de Alberta una mala mujer que
la engaña y la hace creer que es otra persona y que la policía la persigue,
mientras la trata como esclava y no le permite salir de su casa.
El pequeño
empieza una nueva vida en compañía de nuevos amigos Blasito, Biri y Mariali
quienes juegan y se divierten con él escuchando las historias de Chirimbolo, un
viejo que los consiente y aconseja en todo momento.
Un mal día
Chirimbolo sufre un accidente y Felipín se ve obligado a pedir un préstamo a la
malvada Alberta, quien le pide a cambio que engañe a los españoles de la
hacienda haciéndose pasar por el heredero de Don Alfonso y ella pueda así,
cobrar una buena recompensa.
Cuando Felipín
llega a la hacienda haciéndose pasar por otro, quienes viven ahí le hacen la
vida imposible y al igual que a Nisa, quien se enamora de Eduardo, un apuesto
joven que se quedó a cargo de la hacienda, quien a su vez le corresponde.
Constanza y
Alberta se encargarán de interponerse en la felicidad de los tres sin saber que
Felipín es el verdadero heredero de la fortuna del Duque de Oriol. Y su madre
poco a poco irá recordando en sueños al pequeño hijo que el mar le arrebató de
las manos hasta por fin encontrarlo.

RCTV. Nisa es una hermosa joven que
vive sola en su casita junto al mar y se sostiene de su oficio de alfarera. Un
día, aparece inesperadamente una barca donde yace inconsciente un hermoso niño.
Nadie se explica de dónde pudo llegar aquel pequeño, pero para la joven Nisa es
como un regalo que le trae el mar. Gracias a sus cuidados, Felipín pronto
recobra el conocimiento y le cuenta a su nueva amiga que él y su madre viajaban
en un barco que se hundió.Nisa lo lleva al hospital, donde se encuentran
algunos sobrevivientes del naufragio y ahí un marinero asegura haber visto
morir a la madre de Felipín, sin saber que a la que vio morir fue a Gloria, la
tía que viajaba con ellos.Mientras tanto, Lena, la madre de Felipín, vaga confundida
por las calles del pueblo y para su infortunio, cae en manos de Alberta, una
malvada usurera que la encierra en su casa haciéndola creer que es buscada por
la policía y la pone a trabajar casi como esclava. Lena no recuerda que ella y
su hijo iban a reunirse con Don Alfonso Cáceres de Ribera, Duque de Oriol, un
rico hacendado español que representa un papel clave en su vida
adolescente.Felipín se queda a vivir con Nisa y en compañía de sus nuevos
amiguitos: Blasito, Biri y Mariali, vive mil aventuras y pasa momentos mágicos
escuchando las fantásticas historias y los sabios consejos del viejo y
bondadoso Chirimbolo. Pero cuando este señor sufre una enfermedad, Felipín pide
un préstamo a la bruja Alberta para pagar su operación. A cambio, la codiciosa
usurera exige a Felipín que engañe a los españoles de la hacienda de Don
Alfonso, para así ella poder cobrar una buena recompensa.Pero lo que no se
imagina esta malvada es que nuestro niño llegará a la hacienda tras una mentira

el apuesto Eduardo se siente atraído por Nisa, por lo que el odio y los celos

Soledad y de don Alfonso Primo de la Ribera y duque de Oriol. Este último es un
rico hacendado español que desde muy joven dejó su tierra natal para
aventurarse al Continente Americano. Se quedó a vivir en Oaxaca, en la hacienda
San Martín el Alto, donde fomentó una empresa maderera y después se dedicó a la
cría del ganado de lidia.Alfonso llevaba una vida solitaria, pero se enamora de
Magdalena, hija de Marcelino, capataz de los aserraderos. Magadalena está
segura que jamás el duque le pedirá que se casen, pero don Alfonso le confiesa
su amor y le dice que luchará contra todos los prejuicios que se interpongan

- 4/18/99: Gloria y Magdalena de la Soledad con su hijo Felipín viajan a México
en el barco "La Esperanza". Felipín conocerá a su padre Alfonso, pero
sufren un accidente. El capitán trata de ayudar a las mujeres y los niños.
Regina aconseja a su hija Constanza, que vaya con Eduardo a México. Magdalena
está medio loca y en todos los niños ve a su hijo. Alberta quiere llevarse el
collar de plata para cobrarse a lo chino. Eduardo se entera que su tío Alonso
ha muerto. Nisa promete cuidar a Felipín siempre.

3/20-24/00. Felípin, his mother Magdalena de la Soledad and his aunt Gloria are
on a boat on their way to Alfonso, his father whom he has never known about.
Lena left Alfonso without a word when she discovered she was pregnant because
she didn’t think his family would ever accept her. He has never understood by
she left and has never stopped loving her. Unfortunately, his health is not
good and when he gets her letter and learns he has a son, he has a heart
attack. He manages to have his lawyer Oscar draft a new will leaving everything
to her and his son before he dies (the old will left most everything to Eduardo
and his sister Sofia; he despised Enrique, recognizing him for what he was). He
also leaves letters for Lena and his son. Eduardo, his brother Enrique, their
mother Sofia, Eduardo’s fiancée Costanza and her mother are in Spain. Eduardo
yet again pays Enrique’s debts. Eduardo decides to go to México to convince his
uncle to come to their wedding. Costanza and ? accompany him. Due to poor communications,
they don’t learn about Alfonso’s death until after they arrive. Enrique
salivates over the thought of the inheritance. On the boat, Magdalena finally
shows Felípin a picture of his father. They don’t know it, but there is a leak
in the engine room. Later there is an explosion on the boat. The picture flies
out of Felípin’s hands and when he goes after it, he is thrown
overboard. His aunt is hit and dies. Lena sees Felípin go over but then she too
is concussed. The next day, after burying her mother, Nisa and Chirimbulo find
a small boat with the name Esperanza on it and inside the boat is Felípin. They
take him in and, eventually, they take him to the hospital where a sailor tells
them that he saw his mother killed. (It was actually Gloria he saw but it was
an honest mistake). Lena is repeatedly taken to the hospital or helped by
different people only to wander away each time in a daze. Several times she and
Felípin almost meet. Alberta threatens to take all of Nisa’s belongings but
Martín, a fisherman in love with her, pays Alberta (including exorbitant
interest). The dazed Lena is given money on the street then gives it to Alberta
when approached by her. Alberta takes her into her house to be her “slave”.Nisa
decides to care for Felípin. Chirimbulo tells Nisa the story of Alfonso’s grand
love.

- 4/25/99: Nisa se impresiona al conocer a Eduardo. Enrique pide
explicaciones de la muerte de su tío. Los chicos llevan a Felipín a conocer a
la bruja. Alberta impide que Lena abra la puerta. Nazario presenta a Martín
como el mejor pescador de la zona. Felipín se siente solo y perdido. Eduardo
dice a su mamá que si no se lee el testamento esta semana, regresarán a España.
Felipín entra a la escuela. Enrique conoce a Alina. Los niños defienden a
Felipín de Enrique. Eduardo desea vivir en San Felipe. Constanza contrata a
Alberta. Biri y Felipín van a escapar de la escuela. Pilar conoce a Nisa. Al
fin, el notario lee el testamento.
El Diario de
Yucatan, 4/25/99:Alberta impide que Lena abra la puerta. Felipín le grita
¡bruja! a Alberta, quien se desquita con Lena y le hace creer que la policía la
está buscando.Nazario presenta a Martín como el mejor pescador de la zona.
Eduardo simpatiza con él.Constanza va a Playa Cristalina para conocer a la
mujer que impresionó a Eduardo, pero éste se la lleva del lugar.Eduardo

Yucatan, 5/2/99. Nazario dice a Eduardo que no se explica por qué no está el
documento en el mueble donde supuestamente lo guardó.[Enrique found the key
and stole the letters.] Niza llora al ver roto el florero.[Constanza
breaks the pot at the market place where Nisa is trying to sell it.] Constanza
se va, pero Pilar se lo paga y le dice que le haga otros dos. Eduardo telefonea
a su madre y le cuenta el asunto del testamento.Nelda recibe una carta de
Valentín, su marido, en la cual le anuncia su próxima llegada.Enrique pide a
Constanza que lo acompañe al pueblo a investigar dónde está Sol. Alberta les
aconseja que se cuiden de Nisa. Pilar gives Nisa a job fixing up the
capetillo which infuriates Constanza. Felipin runs away trying to find his
father. Eduardo kisses the crying Nisa then apologizes. Chrimbulo finds him and
goes with him to an official’s office. Nisa sees Eduardo kissing Constanza
good-bye. Constanza tells her to obey her because she will be the new duena.

Recap from yesterday:
Constanza and Tia Pilar discuss when Constanza dropped the vase and
Pilar says Constanza should apologize
to Nisa for what she did. Constanza promises to apologize as soon as she sees her (assuming that she
will never see her again). Pilar says that she might see Nisa sooner than she thinks. Nisa and Eduardo talk in the chapel.
Today: Valentin
and Melda talk and Biri comes down the stairs with her hair cut very
short! The kids look on and smile at
each other because Valentin believes she is a boy. Eduardo and Constanza talk and she asks him what he was doing in
the chapel. He says he bumped into the
girl who will help decorate the chapel and after she questions him, he says that she is not prettier than her. He
doesn’t mention that Nisa is the girl.
Melda tells Valentin the truth after Biri begs her not to tell him. Biri
runs off. He gets upset and Melda
tells him that his daughter is actually named after him: Valentina. He asks her why she lied. She told him that
she was afraid he would never return if he found out that his child was a girl, not a boy. Lala tries to comfort
Biri and asks the kids why she cut her
hair and pretended to be a boy. The
boys go outside and talk about how they may have messed up with their
idea. Chirimbolo comes up and they
tell him that Valentin is back and that everyone is very sad because of this. Chirimbolo looks at
them with a very confused face. Biri says that her dad doesn’t love her and she is all alone. Mariali tells her
that she isn’t alone. Melda begs
Valentin to accept his daughter.
Constanza gets mad because she wants to call her mom in Spain and the
lines are down. She wants to leave to
finish planning their wedding. Eduardo asks her for patience. She wants to know the exact date that they will
return to Spain. He says that it might be next week, but he’s not sure. She asks him what excuse he is going to
come up with this time to delay their
departure. Nisa and Pilar talk in the
chapel. Pilar tells Nisa that they are leaving for Spain soon for Constanza’s wedding. But before Pilar can
tell Nisa that Constanza is marrying Eduardo,
some women from the town show up and Pilar goes inside to introduce them
to Constanza. Chirimbolo does not understand why Biri went
along with the plan. A father should love
his kids because they are a gift from God. The two guests say bye to Pilar and Constanza and congratulate
her on her wedding. Chirimbolo comes
to talk to Valentin. Chirimbolo tells the boys to come in and explain to Valentin why they made Biri look like a
boy. Alberta informs Constanza that it
was weird to find Nisa at the house. Constanza asks who Nisa is and Alberta tells her that Nisa lives by the sea in
a small house and is very “ligera de
cascos” (can mean many things- I think they meant it here as “loose woman; slut”).
Valentin comes in to see Biri. She is
asleep in Lala’s lap. Lala passes her off to Valentin and he hugs her, saying “my little girl, my precious little
girl.” Biri asks if he loves her. He
says he’d love her even if she was a monster.
Constanza realizes who Nisa is. She gets mad. She yells at Remedios and
orders her to find Tia Pilar because
she wants to talk to her. Biri is
happy b/c her dad loves her. Valentin thanks Melda for giving him such a great daughter. Biri announces to everyone that
her dad loves her. Everyone cheers. Lala and
Melda invite Chirimbolo to dinner. Valentin asks the kids if they want
to visit a boat. Nisa walks down the
street and Enrique catches up to her in his car. He asks if he can accompany her b/c it’s not good for girls
to be walking alone (ugh!). She tells him no
thanks for his company. He says he wants to be her friend. She doesn’t
think that someone so rich and
powerful would want to be her friend. He asks why she is trying to avoid him. She tells him that she’s going
to be working at the hacienda. He says that
since she’s going to work at the hacienda that she has to obey him and
let him give her a ride. The boys are outside playing around.
Felipin tells other kids about the mistaken identity story with Biri. They notice that Casimiro is following them.
Felipin asks Casimiro’s friend (don’t
know his name) if he thinks Casimiro is someone they can trust. Constanza is fuming in her room and blames
her aunt for hiring Nisa and putting her in
a bad mood. Her marriage is about to fall apart and it is all Pilar’s
fault for bringing Nisa. Casimiro’s
friend says he doesn’t really know much about Casimiro. Biri comes up with her hair combed and in a new dress. The
boys whistle at her. Pilar tells
Constanza that she is overreacting. Constanza says that she is going to personally fire Nisa. Pilar says that
Constanza will be the only one at fault if Eduardo notices another woman b/c she is behaving like a whiny
brat. Constanza tells Eduardo that she
has decided that she will help Tia Pilar with the chapel decorations. Eduardo tells her he’s so
glad. Now, she might see just how nice the people of this town are. She smiles and thinks about how much she hates
Nisa. Alberta tells Sol that the house
looks nice. Alberta decides that she has to be careful with Sol b/c she is more aware every day.
She could remember something soon.
Enrique drives Nisa to where she is going and Martin drives up behind
them. He runs up and asks Enrique what
he is doing with his girlfriend. Martin tells him that he does not want to see him near Nisa. Enrique says
that he only behaved like a gentleman with Nisa and Martin obviously does not know what it means to be a
gentleman. Enrique leaves. Nisa asks
Martin what is wrong with him. He says he only wanted to protect her. She says she can protect herself. Nisa and
Martin go to Melda’s house and meet Valentin.
Constanza complains to Eduardo that he doesn’t pay enough attention to
her. She asks him to tell her how much
he loves her. He says he loves her and they kiss. Valentin and Melda are in bed. Valentin assures her that he only
loves her. Valentin wants to know that
if he asked Melda and Biri to leave with him if they would. She says yes, they would leave with him. The next morning, Valentin is about to take
the kids to the boat and Felipin gets scared.
He starts to cry when he remembers that on a boat was the last time he
saw his mom. Nisa tells him not to cry
b/c then his mom in heaven will be sad too.
Preview: Nisa and Felipin’s life could get better as a result of Nisa’s
job at the hacienda, but Constanza
threatens to fire Nisa if her aunt doesn’t do it first.

are looking for her. Sol asks what she did. A
says that she doesn’t know, but that she is now a convict without guilt.
She is lucky not to remember anything.
Sol asks what the name of the town is- why is she here? A asks why she wants to know if she can’t remember
anything anyway. Sol insists- the name of town
might help her remember something. A tells her not to be stupid and
leave everything the way it is. Maybe
when they find her, her sentence will be reduced. Sol begs. A thinks to herself: I can’t tell her the real name b/c
she might remember something; what name can
I come up with? Sol asks why she won’t tell her the name. A tells Sol
the name is Real del Puente (not the
real name). A asks if the name rings a bell. Sol says she’s never heard the name before. L, N, and Mel say goodbye to the kids, V, and Mar. N reminds Mar
to keep an eye on F b/c he was scared
before. He tells her not to worry and to take care of herself. Mel leaves to clean her room. L asks N if she wants
some coffee and they sit. L asks N if she wants to tell her something. N says that one of the Duke’s nephews gave
her a ride yesterday, and when they got
to town, Mar got really mad at the nephew. L says that it was natural b/c Mar is in love with N. N says she only
loves Mar like a brother. L says that the worst is yet to come- she’s seen the lightning, but the thunder is not
far behind. L thinks that N’s job at
the hacienda is going to bring her trouble. N disagrees b/c she won’t be working there long. Then everything will go
back to normal. L disagrees. Con tells
P that she took her advice and is acting with more intelligence. P says
she’s glad. Con says it’s really hard
to pretend that she’s happy when she’s not going to go back to Spain with the title of Duchess that
was already hers. P agrees that it is tough, but that Ed’s love should be the most important thing. Con says that
she will be the laughing-stock of
Spanish high-society. P thinks that she is being frivolous. Con says that all of this is b/c of the Duke’s stupid
affair. The kids explore the boat. F notices their flag- the Mexican
flag. F suddenly remembers their lost
kite. Bl says that when he catches who did it, he is never going to want to
take something that isn’t his. Ch says that every day he feels weaker and
it is harder for him to move around. Cas
walks up and says “Hi Chiri”. Ch corrects him, saying that only his
friends can call him Chiri. Cas says,
“OK, Chirimbolo.” Ch informs him that he’s been waiting for him for a while.
The kids tell V that someone stole their kite. V says he’ll buy them
another one. B is happy that her dad
can help. F says that he could buy another one, but it won’t be the same b/c Ch’s was really cool. Ch asks Cas if he wants to be his friend.
Then, he asks him why he’s waited so long to
return the kite to the kids. Cas says he doesn’t know what he’s talking
about. Ch tells him that he’s too young
to be lying. Eventually, the tiny snowball will turn into a giant avalanche and he won’t be able to get out
from under it. Cas insists he doesn’t have a
kite. Ch tells him that once you lie, your conscience never lets you
sleep. Besides, why do you want to hurt
the kids? They haven’t done anything to you.
Con says that she won’t stand by and let them take away what is
rightfully hers. She hopes that the
stupid kid never shows up. Enrique might be able to help me make sure he doesn’t show up. Just then, the lawyer shows
up. N insists that she only loves Mar
as a brother. Her true love is going to be like... “A prince from a fairy tale,” finishes Mel. L says that everyone
imagines their love like a prince. N
asks L if Marcos is coming home soon. L says that probably the same thing
that happened to Mel will happen to
her- when she least expects it, he’ll come walking in. Con finds Ed and the lawyer tells them that
he’s going to contact the investigators soon.
Con is happy b/c now they can return to Spain soon. En asks the lawyer’s secretary (I forgot her
name) if she knows everyone in the town. She
says she knows just about everyone. He starts to ask her about someone,
then notices N walking just outside the
cafe. He abruptly leaves without even saying goodbye! Ed tells Con that she misunderstood- he and the lawyer are going
to go to the capital together. They
will have to postpone their return to Spain. Con begs Ed not to go b/c it could jeopardize their wedding. Ed tells Con
not to worry, then tells the lawyer to make
the reservations soon. The lawyer leaves. Con accuses Ed of thinking of
everything else before her. That’s why
she thinks he doesn’t love her. He assures her he loves her and wants nothing more than to marry her. She
says that he acts like the opposite is true. He asks her to put herself in his shoes: my Uncle trusted me to look
for Sol, so I have to find her.
Sol helps A with her dress while A tells
her what clothes to leave out for her to sleep in later. She asks Sol how she looks- she’s wearing the dress she
wore during her last season at the
theater. She goes on and on about the theater while dancing to an old
record. V promises to bring the kids to
another boat later. Bl says he wants to see all boats, even the president’s. V says that he knows the
president in person and that his boat is huge. F says that maybe the president could help him find his dad. Mar
says that many people go to the pres.
to get help with their problems, but Bl says that the pres. is very busy
and probably wouldn’t have time to help
him out. Mari says that J, their teacher, says that pres. likes helping everyone. F asks where the pres. lives. Mar
tells them that he lives very far
away. N is walking on the beach, alone.
She sits down and suddenly En shows up and startles her. She jumps up and he comments on how nicely she greets him.
She asks him what he wants and he says
he wants to see her, admire her beautiful eyes, her hair, her skin. He doesn’t undersatnd why she’s trying to avoid
him. (Duh!) She tells him to leave her alone
b/c she doesn’t want any problems. She attempts to walk off, but he
catches her arm. She gets upset and
tells him to let her go b/c she has not given him permission to treat her
this way. He tightens his grip and
tells her that she knows how much he likes her- is she trying to drive him crazy? Just then, Ed
shows up and orders him to release her (her
knight in shining armor!). As En releases her, Ed tells him to quit
bothering N. En informs Ed that he’s
not bothering N- in fact, they’re actually very good friends. He attempts to touch N’s face, but she pushes
his hand away in anger. Con goes to the
chapel looking for Ed. Re tells her that he left a while ago. She tells
her aunt that she’s upset b/c not only
does Ed leave her alone for hours, but now he’s going on that trip to the capital. P tells her not to worry. P tells
her to help her with the chapel
decorations to distract herself. Con asks if P is still going to hire N.
P says yes. Con says that if P doesn’t
fire her, she will. N tells En that she
doesn’t consider herself his friend. She could never be friends with someone like him. He asks why not. She says
they live in different worlds. She starts to
walk away and he chases after her. En insists that it doesn’t matter;
besides, she is a very pretty girl.
With better clothes, she could pass for a princess. At this point, Ed, who
has been following behind N and En,
tells En to shut up. As N runs away, En says that if not a princess, she could pass for a duchess,
then starts laughing. P tells Con that
she’s too nervous and she should concentrate on something else. Con asks her what else she could do, and P
suggests reading, making herself look good for her boyfriend, or going out to explore the surrounding areas. Con
says she doesn’t care to explore
anything; she’s had nothing but problems since she got here and does not plan
to come back ever. P reminds her that
after the wedding, they’ll have to come back to fulfill the Duke’s dying wish. Con says that she
will make sure that Ed never returns to Mexico
and she’s ready to use any means necessary.
Ed and En catch up to N, who is busy
putting some pots in her oven. En asks Ed if he agrees that N could pass for a beautiful duchess if she were
dressed differently. Ed says that she
doesn’t need different clothes to look beautiful and that En has no right to
make her feel uncomfortable. Ed orders
En to leave with him. En starts off, but not before saying bye to N, hoping that next time when they meet up as
friends, her boyfriend doesn’t get mad.
En asks Ed if he knew that N had a very jealous boyfriend- just b/c he saw us talking, he became a savage beast. N
looks on with growing anger. Ed looks like
he doesn’t know whether to hit En to make him shut up or hide under a
rock. Once again, En starts laughing,
amused by N and Ed’s reactions. Ed walks towards N, shooting Ed a dirty look, and says that he did not know N
had a boyfriend. He says to tell him not to
worry b/c no one else is ever going to bother N again. He reminds her to
show up early tomorrow to help P with
the chapel- did she give you money for your materials? N says yes. En chimes in, saying that he came down
here for the same reason- to give her
money! Ed tells him to stop and pushes him away, telling him that
they’re leaving right now. Ed says bye
to N, then you hear En yelling to Ed “didn’t you say we were leaving? i’m waiting for you!”. With one last look,
he’s off. Mar is driving everyone back
home. V asks B if she enjoyed herself. She doesn’t know if she’s happy b/c of the trip or being with
her dad. F says that he’s gonna be happy when
he finds his dad, too. Quick
scene: N is looking off to where Ed is walking away and wonders if he has
a girlfriend. Con is telling her aunt that she is Ed’s fiancee and she’ll be
the Duchess of Oriol as long as the
stupid kid doesn’t appear. P doesn’t understand why Con keeps repeating that
fact. She knows, but that does not give
Con the right to control who works at the hacienda. Con says that they aren’t going to argue about that right now.
Either P fires N, or Con will- and you
know I don’t threaten for nothing.
F comes running into the house and gives
N a big hug. Mar comes in behind him while
he tells her what they did. After F leaves, N asks Mar if he was sad at
all. Mar responds that F was sad at
first, but he quickly cheered up when he thought he might find his dad soon. N says she promised F to help him find
his dad, but she doesn’t know where to
start. Mar says he wants to apologize for his behavior yesterday. He
didn’t think it would upset her and
besides, he is very distrusting of En. He promises it will never happen again. She apologizes too b/c she was kind
of rude to him. Mar tells her that she doesn’t
have to apologize b/c she is divine. He kisses her on the cheek and
leaves, telling her not to work too
hard. Con is walking outside the house,
obviously looking for Ed. Just then, Ed and En walk up and ask her if she was looking for them. She
says that she wasn’t aware that they left
together- where did you go? En gets a mischievous look on his face and
tells Ed to tell her where they went.
Ed shoots him another dirty look, takes Con by the hand, and walks inside. En laughs again. (he seems to laugh
a lot!) F comes back in and asks N if
Mar is her boyfriend. She says no- she sees Mar like a brother, and she loves him like a brother. F
says that he’d like it very much if she had a
boyfriend. She asks him why. He says so that she won’t be so alone when
he finds his dad- he’ll probably take
me with him. You didn’t forget that you promised to help me find him, right? She tells him that she
didn’t forget- but you’re going to have to wait a little. He starts crying and she tries to explain that she
doesn’t know where to start. She offers
him food, but he decides to go to sleep instead. A decides to go to sleep b/c she needs to look fresh and
beautiful when she goes to the hacienda.
Sol asks the name of the hacienda. A says it’s very big and pretty, with
gardens and a small chapel that has
been closed for years. At this point, you see Sol thinking, almost as if the mention of the chapel
brings back some memory- she remembers being
in the chapel, lighting a candle. A tells her to take the depressed look
off her face and to go to sleep. Sol
wonders why she can’t remember. F
thinks in bed that N promised to help look for his dad- he has to find his dad
some- where. Ch stops bye to say hi. He
is leaving tomorrow for the capital. At this, F’s face lights up and he seems to get an idea. N
asks how long he’ll be gone. He says he doesn’t know, but it won’t be long. He leaves.
The next morning, Sol wakes up screaming
at the sound of a rooster crowing. N
gets out of bed and goes to get a drink. Suddenly, she notices F is not in his
bed. She looks outside for him, but he
is nowhere to be found. Mar and Ed are
dragging a boat out of the water. Mar laughs and said next time, Ed should wear better boots. He laughs and says
that the laguna was calling out to him. He
says goodbye to Mar, promising to come back again. Mar says anytime he
wants is good. Nazario gives Ed his
horse, and he’s off. As Ed rode off, N came up to Mar and told him that F left. En laughs and asks Con why she’s up so early. She says she’s very
interested in talking to him without Ed
knowing. He says he thinks he knows why she wants to talk to him. She tells him that it isn’t convenient for
either of them if Ed goes to the city, talks with the detectives, and finds Sol and F. He agrees, but he says that he’s
already fixed that problem. As long as
no one finds the power of attorney, he and Ed have the same rights to the inheritance. In the meantime, he can
come up with a better plan that will suit them
both. J tells Mar and N that F
has not shown up at school- the other kids are on the playground. Mar tells her not to worry- they’ll find
him. N says she’ll die if they don’t find him.
Naz notices that Ed and Mar hit it off. Ed says he is a good,
hard-working man, and he’d like to help
him somehow. Naz asks how, but Ed isn’t sure.
A mentions that her dog is like the child she never had, and Sol
remembers F calling for her when on the
boat. Sol starts running around the room screaming, “my son, my son.” The End

walking to hear P say that she hasn’t shown up yet. Con says that she probably
won’t show up, then asks Ed what he’s waiting for to go change. Ed leaves. Mar goes to pick up the kids. J asks if they
know anything about F. Mar says that he has a feeling that they’ll know
something soon. Cas asks Benito to find out where F is. Benito asks Cas why he
cares- after all, he did steal their kite. Cas accuses Ben of telling Ch that
he stole the kite- Ben denies it and Cas threatens to hurt him. N is crying to L. L says that the kids
probably know where F is. A mentions
that her dog is like the child she never had, and Sol remembers F calling for
her when on the boat. Sol starts running around the room screaming, “my son, my
son.” While Ed and Con ride their
horses, Ed remembers the conversation with N and En on the beach. Con asks why
he’s so quiet. Ed says that he’s worried. Con doesn’t understand why he has to
go to the capital. He tells her he’ll be back soon. Sol is hysterical and A
tries to calm her down. Sol keeps repeating, “my son, my son, where are you?”
Today: En rides up to N’s house on his horse and pushes open her door. He
sees that no one is home and walks back out.
Mar is walking the kids back home- he asks why they are so quiet. The
kids say that they don’t know where F is. Mar says that’s too bad b/c N is really
sad and worried- now you don’t want N to be sad, do you? Ch is giving candies away to some kids. The kids come in and see how sad N is. Mar
says that they don’t know anything. N cries more. Mel tells her not to worry.
Mar thinks F is just somewhere down the beach.
Con asks En where he was and he says he was looking for pretty girls to
entertain himself. Con says that the
girls in town are so plain. En disagrees and says that there are some very
pretty girls and he won’t let them get away. Ed just glares at him. Mar still suspects that the kids know- they
don’t look worried. N wonders why they
didn’t tell her when they saw how upset she was. A asks Sol how she feels. Sol says she feels
better- but sometimes she feels dizzy and confused. She says she can’t remember
her child. A wonders if the child only exists in Sol’s imagination. N thinks it is her fault F left b/c she
could not help F find his dad. Just then, Ed shows up to find out why she
didn’t show up to help P this morning. He tells her that he’s going away for a
few days, but he wants to know if she’s happy working at the hacienda. She has
her back to him, but he hears her sniffle and notices she is crying. He asks
her what’s wrong- she says nothing. He insists- she just cries harder and buries
her face in his shoulder. He asks her if there is anything he can do for her.
He tells her he can’t stand to see her cry and wipes away her tears. He tells
her she’s very beautiful and they kiss. She pulls away and turns around. Ed
apologizes and says he just couldn’t resist with her being so close to him- he
doesn’t know what came over him. He really didn’t want to offend her- rather
than making her feel better, he made the situation worse. He asks again why
she’s crying- she says that someone she loved very much left her. He asks if
she loves that person- she says yes, very much. He says he thinks that her
loved one will be back soon and she will smile again- that person is very lucky
to have her love. He apologizes again, asks her to come back to the hacienda,
and then leaves.
L says that it is such a shame F left- N
loved him very much. L asks the kids again if they know where F is- they say
no. Mar says that he hopes nothing bad happens to F- kids can get hurt when
they are alone. B says that they should go outside and play- L reminds B that F
is missing and it is very odd that they still feel like playing. It would be
better if you went with Mar to N’s house. Bl starts to object, but L puts her
foot down. N remembers that Ed kissed
her- he is the first man to kiss her. She thinks that he is the most wonderful
man in the world. Then, she remembers F and gets sad. Ed walks around the hacienda, thinking about how sweet N’s lips
were and that he shouldn’t have kissed
her- he is engaged and she loves someone else.
The kids show up at N’s house and Mar tells N that they still don’t know
anything. L insists that the kids know
where F is. V walks in and tells Mel that he has to leave tomorrow.
Mar comforts N. N wonders if F drowned or if the sea took him away. Mari
walks in and says that the sea didn’t take him away. Ch puts out his campfire and lays down on his blanket to nap.
Just then, we see F’s head pop out of the cart. He gets the dog to bring him a
bag of food and eats while Ch sleeps.
Mari tells N and Mar that F overheard that Ch was going to the capital,
so he decided to hide in Ch’s cart so he could go see the president about
finding his dad. He went to Mari and Bl’s house to tell them he was leaving and
not to tell anyone b/c it would be a secret. Mari begs N and Mar not to tell
anyone that she told- it was a secret.
A asks Con how the face masks worked- Con says they were fabulous. A
tries to find out why Con is mad. Con tells her that her wedding might be
postponed- the Duke’s will wasn’t what they had hoped it would be. Con leaves
to take a shower and A wonders who the Duke left his fortune to. V tells Mel not to cry- she knows how a
sailor’s life is. Mel asks why he can’t just take them with him. He says he going very far away- to Ethiopia. He
says that they’re going to pay him well and he’s going to build them a house
with that money. He tells her that he loves her more and more each day-
especially for giving him such a great daughter. He starts to cry-he says he
wants to cry now, not when he says goodbye to his daughter. F decides to walk around a little- he’s
tired of sitting. He walks along a small creek, then returns to the cart. Ed is on the phone making final plans for
his trip. En says he’ll stay to guard the women of the hacienda while Ed is
gone. Ed tells En not to bother N- En promises he won’t. En says that it is odd
how much Ed pays attention to N. Mar
and the kids leave. N thanks the Virgin Mary for keeping F safe with Ch. Ed asks En what makes him think he has a
special interest in N. En laughs and says that Ed is too obvious. En says that
at the Duke’s mass, he couldn’t take his eyes off her. Then, you were so
pleased to see that N was going to help P with the chapel. You’ve even been to
her house- and it is obvious that you’ve been there more than once. Ed says he
is interested in her, but only to help her out. En reminds him that he is
engaged. F comes back to the cart and
sees that Ch is gone. Suddenly, Ch walks up behind him and asks F if he’s
looking for him. F turns and Ch says that F has a lot of explaining to do. Ch
tells F that as soon as they find a phone, they are going to call N to tell her
that he is OK. They pack up Ch’s stuff and leave. Ed tells Naz that he’s leaving tomorrow, and Naz hands him the
envelope that Sol’s letter came in. Ed says that without the letter inside or a
return address, the envelope won’t be much use, but he’s going to hold on to it
anyway. Naz tells him that the letter was in the desk with the power of
attorney and the other letters for Sol and her son. Ed asks him if he’s sure
they were in there- Naz insists he put them in there himself and gave Alfonso
the key. Ed wonders who would be interested in taking those letters out of the
desk. En thinks to himself: what my
brother would give to have these letters in his hands; I wonder what happened to Sola and her
son.
Sol is crying on her bed- she suddenly
remembers a conversation where someone is
telling her that it was a good thing for her to write Alfonso and tell
him that F is his son. Sol gets
frustrated b/c she can’t remember! Ed
promises Con to be back soon- Con doesn’t understand why he can’t just fix
things over the phone. He insists it’s
better if he goes, so she makes him promise not to look at another girl while
he’s gone. N comes walking around the corner, so Con quickly kisses Ed so N
will see. N notices and walks off in the opposite direction. N starts to cry in front of the chapel and
realizes that Ed and Con are not brother and
sister like she thought- they are engaged. F asks Ch not to be upset with him anymore. Ch says that he’s
worried about N- F assures Ch that Mari will probably tell N anyway. Ch insists
that they need to call her anyway. F asks if what he did was really bad. Ch
says that if something you do hurts or worries someone that loves you, then it
is a bad idea. F promises never to do it again. En asks P and Con what they are going to do while Ed is gone. P
says she is going to finish the chapel
since N hasn’t shown up. Con tells her that N is here and she’s in the chapel already. Con asks P if she still
plans to employ her after she didn’t show up
yesterday. P assumes that she had a problem yesterday- no big deal. She
leaves, and En comments to Con how much she seems to hate N. Her only crime is
being beautiful- does it bother you that much?
P welcomes N and N apologizes for yesterday- she had a problem at home.
P tells her not to worry- the important this is that she’s here now. She walks
off, telling N that she’ll be back later to check on her progress. Con walks in
and starts ordering N to clean the entire place well, or she will have to start
all over again. V thanks L for being
good to his family. L says that Mel and B are like family. V asks Bl and Mari
to love B like a sister. V then gives the kids a kite, just like he
promised. N informs Con that she only
receives orders from P and P has not told her to do any of these things. Con informs her that she is the
future wife of Ed, Duke of Oriol and the
owner of the hacienda. If she didn’t know before, she knows now, so she
better obey her. Ch and F get off a bus
in the city and walk to the president’s building. In the meantime, Carlos (the lawyer) and Ed sit at a cafe
eating breakfast. Ed comments on how beautiful and large the place is. Con asks P if she knows where En is- she
doesn’t. P asks if she’s heard from Ed- she
hasn’t. Con asks if P has talked to N yet- Con doesn’t want to see her
at the hacienda. If P doesn’t fire her, Con will. F says that they have to come back with the kids next time. They
go inside the president’s offices. Ed mentions he wants to see the colonial
buildings he’s heard so much about. The president’s assistant asks F why he
wants to see the president so badly. F says he wants to ask for his help to
look for his dad. The assistant says that the president is busy right now, but

Carlos arrives in the city and is almost run over by Alberta. She invites him
all. By the end of the week, he meets Lena. Constanza blackmails Eduardo into
kicking Nisa out of her home so she can use it as her hideaway. Constanza and
Enrique decide to find a child to pass off as the Duque’s son and Alberta
overhears the conversation. Then Constanza asks her help in pulling off the
deception. Chirimbulo asks Oscar to intercede with Eduardo on Nisa’s behalf so
she won’t have to leave her home.
El Universal,

doesn’t want her brother to be mad at her- B promises to ask Bl if he’s
forgiven Mari. Mari says she misses F- B starts chanting that F is Mari’s
boyfriend. Mari denies it- B says she won’t tell anyone. Cas is happy that F hasn’t come back yet-
Ben tells him that F will be back b/c he’s
looking for his family. Cas thinks that F doesn’t have any family. Mar comes to tell N that he’s going to
Puerto Real tomorrow to look at the boat. He asks her why she’s sad- she says
it’s b/c of F. He reminds her that one day F will find his dad and leave her.
He insists that he thinks there’s something more- she denies it. Ch warns F that he should be careful- there
are lots of snakes around. As F goes to grab some flowers to put on the donkey
(Chula), he sees a snake in front of him and freezes up.
Today: Chacho (the dog) notices the snake and tries to defend F so
it doesn’t bite him, but it bites the
dog instead, then slithers away. F yells for Ch to come help him save Chacho. F
describes the snake and then begs Ch to save him- Ch says he’ll try. En asks when they are going to hear from the
investigators- Ed thinks in a few weeks.
Con says that they’ll have to send the results to Spain b/c by then,
they’ll be getting married. En tells
her that she does not have to keep repeating that every five seconds- after all, Ed has a good memory and he
stands by his word. Ed says that they might hear news sooner- Con asks then if
they can go call her mom and tell her the exact date of their return. Ed says
he can’t right now- he has to see Naz and then he needs to talk to Dr. Ortiz.
Con starts to object, but Ed insists that he has lots of things to take care
of. She rolls her eyes as he leaves. En tells her not to dramatize- remember
that Ed has to familiarize himself with Don Alfonso’s businesses. You’d be
surprised at how many things Don Alfonso left behind that need to be taken care
of. Con gets mad and leaves. N
accidentally calls Mar “Felipin” when she tells him that she’s fine. She
wonders why just when things are
looking good, something bad happens to ruin your plans. She is afraid F won’t return. Mar reminds her that
F is with Ch and they are probably on their
way back now. Mar tells her that her smile is the most wonderful thing
he’s ever seen in his life, so he always wants to see her smiling. He
leaves. Ch tells F that he thinks that
he got all of the venom out of Chacho- they need to wait to see if he’ll pull through. F begs God to
save Chacho. Dr. Ortiz pulls up to the
house as Ed is leaving. Ed tells Dr. Ortiz that he hired some private investigators to look for his
cousin, Sol’s son. He is still having a hard time believing that his uncle would have a son that he did not
recognize as his own. Dr. Ortiz reminds him that Don Alfonso did not know- Ed
says he knows that, but this story seems more like a fairy tale than reality.
He wonders what kind of power Sol had over his uncle that he believed
everything she said in her letter without questioning the information. Dr.
Ortiz says that he can imagine how much the news (that Don Alfonso left his
fortune to a son he never knew) has shocked them. Ed agrees- we still haven’t
gotten over the shock yet. He does not want to leave until he finds Sol and her
son. Car knocks on A’s door, but Sol
doesn’t answer. A and Reme walk towards
each other, shooting each other looks that could kill. A asks Reme if she is
still “pretending to work.” Reme tells her that she doesn’t “pretend,” she
actually does work. A thinks that she’s fooling herself. Reme says that not
everyone is like A- A thinks that Reme has started talking back too much
lately. She thinks R has given Reme wings, and Reme has let it go to her head-
she has been trying way too hard to rise to the level of the “patrones”
(literally, the owners of the hacienda, the Duke’s family) lately. Reme says
that it’s better than being a swindling witch like her- A prefers being a
swindling witch to a poor stupid maid. Just then, R comes up and tells her to
leave- she doesn’t want any trouble. A tells her to be careful what she says-
if not, she’ll talk to her “patrona” Con, who is a very elegant woman, and tell
her to fire you! Reme lunges at A- but R holds her back and A leaves. R tells
Reme not to mess with A- she is very close to Con and she could really get you
fired. Reme tells her that Con is going to leave soon and then she is going to
give A what she deserves when no one can defend her. F is sad that he didn’t find his dad, he misses N, and he really
misses his mom. Mari asks Bl if she’s
ever going to talk to him- he doesn’t answer. She asks him if he still loves
her. Ch says that every time he sees F,
he is reminded of Sol- I wonder where she is?
Car insists at A’s door- Sol tells him that she has orders not to open
the door. He asks if she works for A- she says she’s very sorry, but he has to
come back later b/c she won’t open the door for him. He finally tells her not
to worry and leaves, wondering why A has a woman locked up in her house.
Ed says goodbye to Dr. Ortiz. Dr. O
reminds him to stop by his house later to visit him and his wife- Ed says he will. Someone brings him his horse and
Con rides up on her horse. Ed asks her
if she’s going out riding- she says she’s going with him. F thinks that Chacho is dead, but the dog
wakes up and F is happy that he is safe and out of danger. B tells Bl to forgive his sister- he says
no. She says that F will be mad at him for making his sister cry. Bl says that
F will be mad that Mari told N where he was. B thinks that he won’t be that mad
since Ch told N anyway. B tells him that if she had a brother, she’s never
fight with him. Con and Ed are riding
with Naz. Naz says it is such a shame that Ed won’t be there when the next
shipment arrives in ten days. Con says that they will be in Spain in ten
days. En visits N at her house- he says
he understands why P wants her help b/c her work is great. She thanks him and tells him that she’ll finish the pots
before they leave for Spain. He tells her that he’s going to stay until the day
before Ed and Con’s wedding- there is no reason for him to leave now if they’re
going to leave so many things unattended here. He just wanted to tell her that
he was staying so she wouldn’t need to hurry. He decides to leave b/c he
doesn’t want to have any trouble with her boyfriend- is he really your
boyfriend? She doesn’t answer, so he kisses her hand and leaves. P asks R to ask N to maintain the chapel
while they are gone. Ed and Con walk in, and P reminds Con that D is expecting
them at her house tonight. Con says she’s not going to go b/c she prefers to
stay with Ed- Ed tells her that she can go if she wants. Con says no and drags
him away. F and Ch come to N’s house
and N hugs F. F tells her that he missed her very much. She tells him that
she’s glad he’s safe, but now she doesn’t want him to talk to her. She ignores
him and invites Ch inside to rest. F realizes N is upset. Con tells Ed that they are going to call her
mom to tell her when they are coming home. While she’s dialing, Ed asks her if
they can delay their wedding. Con thinks he’s kidding at first, then starts to
cry when she realizes that he’s serious. He tells her that he can’t return to
Spain yet b/c he has to wait for news on Sol’s son. Con says that delaying
their wedding would be like canceling it. She asks him how long he wants to
postpone the wedding- how long it will take him to resolve what is more
important than their happiness. He begs her to understand him- she asks him why
he can’t understand how much she wants to marry him. She says that she’d die if
he stopped loving her. Ch tells N that
they went to see the president and his assistant promised to give him the
letter personally. They realize how tough it will be to find F’s dad. Ch asks N
if she’s really mad at F- she says no, she just wants him to realize that he
can’t just leave. F is sad that N is mad at him- he loves her almost as much as
his mom. L asks Mel if Bl is still mad
at Mari- Mel says yes. Mel says that as soon as F comes back, he’ll tell Bl that he can’t be mad at
his sister. They both agree that he’s a good kid- L says that he seems like a
upper-class child, like a relative of the Duke. Ed tells Con that it will be better this way b/c otherwise, they
would have to get married, skip their honeymoon and come right back to Mexico.
Con says that she wouldn’t care if she had to live here with him- she accepts
the delay. Ed tells her that he’ll give her anything he wants since he’s
delaying the wedding. Dr. Ortiz and his
wife talk- Ed didn’t come to their house and Con didn’t go see D. Dr. Ortiz says that Con and Ed love each other
very much- she tells her husband that she still love him after all these years
too.
Con tells P that she is going to make Ed
pay for hurting her so badly- she asks P to leave so that she can come up with
a good thing to ask for. Ed thinks
about N- he wonders how she is. He really wants to see her, but it is better
if they go their separate ways. Ch tells N that he’ll come tomorrow with her
present. N says that she loves F like a son, but Ch reminds her that he’s not
her son. The next morning, F tries to get N to talk to him- she ignores him. He
says that he fell asleep waiting for the stars b/c he wanted to wish for N to
forgive him. He tells her that he’ll never leave without her permission and
that he loves her very much. Sol tells
A that Car came to the door yesterday- A gets mad that Sol didn’t tell her sooner.
Car walks into L’s restaurant and L offers him some food and tells him
that her food is the best in the town.
Car says that he’s from the North, Tijuana, then he tells L that her coffee is really good. Con tells Ed that she didn’t sleep last
night because of him. Con asks how long they are going to postpone the wedding-
he says he doesn’t know, probably a few months. By then, they should have some
news about Sol and her son. Con says that she doesn’t like the hacienda and
can’t imagine being cooped up there, so she thought all night about what she
could ask for. Ed promises to give her whatever she asks for.
We see the gift that N made for F- a
small angel. N comments that the face even looks a little like F [even though
it really doesn’t :) ;p]. As soon as J
steps out of the classroom, the kids tell F they’re glad he’s back. F asks Mari
if she’s sad- B tells him that Bl is mad at Mari for telling N where he was. F
says that it is very good that Mari told N b/c she was probably very worried. B
tells Bl that Mari was right to tell N- Bl asks Mari to forgive him. They kiss
and make up. Con calls D and apologizes
for not going to her house yesterday. Con informs her that she’ll call her later to tell her when they
are leaving. P comes in and asks Con if she told D that they might be staying
longer- Con says no and asks P to tell Naz to get their horses b/c she and Ed
are going out. B tells F that her dad

be a child- he can build her a better cabana somewhere else. She wants it here- he tells her that maybe the
people who live here have nowhere else to go. She doesn’t care. N visits L and Mel and says that she is
happy with F and at least they have a roof over their heads. L asks if anyone from the Duke’s house ever told her
to leave- she says no. If they asked me to leave, I don’t know what I’d
do. A tells Car that the girl is very
strange- whenever A has company, she runs to her room and hides. I think she might be crazy. Car says that he’s a
photographer who’s come to the town to see the beautiful things. Con throws a hissy-fit b/c Ed won’t build
her the cabana. P follows her to her room and
tries to calm her down. She is mad that he does not want to kick N out
of her house. The next morning, Con and
Ed talk about what they could do to ensure Sol’s son never appears.
The kids decide to go to the zoo with their teacher. O and P flirt before he goes to talk to
Ed. At the zoo, one of the workers
leaves the door to the elephant’s cage open, so the elephant escapes. Reme
“accidentally” spills cleaning water all over A. A comes in to see Con- Con
tells her that Ed is postponing her
wedding. Ch brings N her gift- a
flowered umbrella. Ed called O to talk
about N’s cabana- O confirms his suspicion that N has nowhere else to go. Ed
says that he’ll talk to N. Con asks A
to swear that she’ll be very discreet.
Ed comes to N’s house- N wants to know if his fiancee knows he’s with
her. While the kids are walking down
the street, they notice the runaway elephant!
N tells Ed that everyone except her knew that Con was his fiancee- Ed
tells her that the kiss he gave her was the most wonderful experience in his
life. She tells him that it was her first kiss. Ed tells her that he needs her
to leave her house- he wants to offer her a better place to live further down
the beach. N wants to know why he’s offering her a better place, why he’s
taking away the only thing she has. Ed apologizes and retracts his offer, but N
tells him that she’s going to leave immediately. The house is his, but she
isn’t. The girls don’t believe that Bl
that he saw an elephant. Mel tells Car
that A is not very nice, even if she was very friendly to him. Car tells L
and Mel that someone lives in A’s house
with her. A tells Con that N has a
child in her house- she might have stolen him. Con wonders if N has any other
family- A says no. Ed comes in to talk
to Con- he tells her that he can’t build her the cabana just to satisfy her. He’s not willing to kick out the people
who have lived there all of there lives.
The kids notice the elephant. They run away, but Mari offers it some
food. En comes in to visit her- he
“can’t believe” that Ed had the nerve to kick her out. En tells N that Con
asked for a cabana on this same spot b/c she’s jealous of her. He tried to talk
Ed out of it, but he couldn’t- he offers her his friendship. If she needs
anything, she should ask him. Con can’t
believe that he is putting the poor people above her- he can’t believe that she
has everything and she wants to take away the only thing those poor people
have. She only wants to be with him- she held up her end of the bargain; now he
has to hold up his. Mar bought the
boat- he’s worried that an emergency might come up and he has no money.
The kids decide to bring the elephant to A’s house to scare her to
death. The zoo workers argue about how
the elephant got away. Mar comes to
visit N and finds out that she’s being kicked out of her house. A goes inside her house quickly to drop off
some packages, and when she goes back out, the elephant comes up behind her and
she faints. Mar goes to the hacienda
and punches En, telling him he thought he was more of a man. The End

Ch hasn’t known anything about Sol since she left. O says that Ch could still

that Ch doesn’t want to help the people who kicked N out of her house. N doesn’t know what hurts more- to leave her
house or to have been so mistaken with Ed.
Ed feels bad for hurting N- he wants O to find her a house in the town
until he can find her a similar cabana nearby. O realizes that this whole
situation is weighing down on Ed- he says that he will never forgive himself
for how much he has hurt N. F wants to
help N with her problem- he met the Duke when he was in the capital city and he
might be able to help them (how ironic!!). B says that he might be better off
if he asked the president for help- Bl doesn’t think that idea will work. They
see Cas approaching- F says that although his mom told him not to fight with
people, he also shouldn’t let anyone walk all over him. Cas tells Ben that his
friends are sitting over there- Ben reminds him that they could be his friends
too, if he wanted them to be. Cas says that he’s not friends with crybabies and
“montoneros” (from context, I figured that it must mean something like
“troublemakers”, but I am not really sure)- Ben tells him that they aren’t
montoneros. Cas wonders why F hit him then- Ben tells him it was b/c he called F a liar. Cas says that F is a liar-
he wants Ben to help him scare them in revenge. N helps Ch inside his house- N insists on helping him, even
though he doesn’t want to trouble her.
Con tells A the story about the Duke and Sol- Con wants A to help Ed
find Sol and the son so that they can go back to Spain quicker. A tells her
that it will be very difficult to find them. Con says that they need a child-
it doesn’t matter if the real one or a fake one shows up. A says that it could
be dangerous- Con tells her that they’ll just have to be careful. A tells Ed that Con is in her room, sad as
usual- he leaves and she thinks to herself that he’ll have to thank her later. P is mad at Con for not talking to her. Ed
walks in and P leaves. Con is planning her cabana- but we’ll have to destroy
that little shack first. Ed is beginning to wonder if her only reason for
destroying the cabana might be to leave those people without a house- Con says
that they are so used to so little that he can put them wherever he wants and
they’ll be content. Ed doesn’t like this new side of her personality that has
surfaced. F asks N if she wants to
leave the house- she says no, but the house isn’t hers. He wants to help her-
when he’s older, he’s going to buy the whole beach for her! Chacho comes in
barking- instantly, N and F know that something happened to Ch. En, Ed, P, and Con are eating dinner. En says
that Con is such a good person- he hopes he finds a woman like him. Con says it
will be difficult b/c she loves his brother so much that she’d be willing to do
anything. En says that there is another possibility- they could get married now
and come back to Mexico for their honeymoon.
N and F try to get him to wake up- Ch asks them why they are here. He
insists that he only has a cold. N decides to lower his fever now and go get a
doctor tomorrow. Con hates the idea of
having her honeymoon in Mexico- she hates it here. Ed reminds her that she came
b/c she wanted to- Con tells him that she came to be with him, but he doesn’t
care that she sacrificed herself. P advises them to not tell their families in
Spain just yet- Con says that Ed was the one who wanted to postpone the
wedding. En reminds her that she accepted and that Ed probably does not want to
keep talking about it. Ed tells everyone that he thought very hard before he
made this decision. Ch is delirious and
starts talking to himself: “No, Soledad, don’t go! What about the Duke!” F asks
what he’s talking about- N tells him that they’re probably people he’s met in
his life. A asks Sol if she saw an
animal- Sol says that when A screamed, she went outside to look, but she did
not see anyone. A says that she’s not crazy- Sol doesn’t doubt that A saw it,
but she did not see it herself. A asks Sol what she and Carlos did then- Sol
says that Car gave A some medicine to calm her nerves, then she and Car talked
for a few minutes. A reminds Sol not to tell anyone about herself b/c the
police are after her- Sol assures her that she does not tell anyone about
herself. N worries that if Ch gets
worse and needs to go to a hospital, they have no money. F wakes up the next
morning and N sends him to get the doctor.
P and R chit-chat in the garden about the weather, flowers, and N having
to leave her house.
F runs into L and Mel’s shop to find
them, but they are not there. He runs down the street and asks a woman where
the doctor is- she says it’s past the pharmacy. At the pharmacy, the pharmacist
tells him that the doctor is several blocks down. He reaches the place and a
woman lets him in. He comes in when the doctor, his wife, and O are having
breakfast. F tells Doc that Ch is very sick- he’s had a fever all night. O asks
him who he is- he says his name is F and he is Ch’s friend. After they leave, O
mentions to the doctor’s wife that F is not from around here- he was with Ch
when he saw them in the capital. They wonder
where Sol is. A tells Sol not to
open the door- if Car comes by, tell him to come for dinner tonight. J asks Mari to go around the room and pick
up the homework- Cas tells Mari that F isn’t here and he’s not coming
back. Doc gives Ch a shot. Ch asks Doc
what he has- Doc says it is probably an infection. Doc wants him to go get some
tests done- he heard a sound in Ch’s chest that he doesn’t like very much. Doc
leaves the room and tells N that Ch probably has pneumonia- he’ll come back
tomorrow to give Ch another injection. N leaves to go get the medicine before N
can give him any money. Ed walks up to
Mar and asks how his day was- Mar says that the fishing was bad today. Mar
apologizes for his behavior towards En- he wants Ed to help N somehow since he
is a good person. Ed suddenly realizes that N is the woman Mar loves. Mar
informs Ed that “his brother” kicked N out of her house without any
consideration- Ed tells Mar that he did it, not his brother. Mar cannot believe
that it was him- he asks why. Ed says that he was forced to do it and he is
sorry- Mar wonders how sorry he could be when he left N with nothing and he has
a big huge house. Mar calls Ed a coward.
At the pharmacy, F gives the prescription to the pharmacist- F promises
him that he will pay him back as soon as he can if he will just give him the
medicine now. The pharmacist says that he doesn’t even know who F is, so F
introduces himself. The pharmacist still refuses, but when F mentions that the
medicine is for Ch, he gives the medicine to F and tells him to come back later
with the money. Mar can’t believe that
Ed is worse than his brother- he doesn’t know how he can sleep after what he’s
done. He says that Ed has no heart. A
drives in her car, thinking about going to a nearby town to find a child no one
knows to be the Duke’s heir. She almost runs over F and he spills the medicine.
He looks down at the broken medicine bottle- she yells at him for scaring her
to death. He tells her that he was in a hurry to bring Ch his medicine- she
says that she doesn’t care what happens to that dying fool. She drives off and
F wonders what he’s going to do- the pharmacist probably won’t give him another
bottle. F comes running into the cafe
and asks L and Mel for money to get Ch his medicine. He tells them the story
between sobs. L gives him the money and tells him that she’s going to go to
Ch’s house while he gets the medicine.
The kids wonder where F is- Cas says that F was scared of him, so he
stayed home. The other kids tell him that F isn’t scared of him. Cas says that
when F comes back, he’s going to beat him up- J walks up and asks what they are
arguing about. B tells her, so J tells the other kids to leave and asks Cas
what is wrong with him- everyone else is friends with F, but he is the only one
who isn’t. She reminds him that the other kids are younger than he is and she doesn’t
want to hear that he is hurting them- otherwise, she will expel him. Once she
leaves, Cas thinks to himself that he’ll get them by themselves later, when no
one can protect them. N wonders how
they are going to take Ch to the capital to get some tests done. N has already
lost her mom and her house, the only things she ever had- if Ch dies, I’ll die.
L tells her that she is not alone- N wonders where F is. L tells her that F is
getting more medicine- he dropped the first bottle. After A arrives at the hacienda, Con notices that Reme is nearby,
so she tells A that they will only talk about their plan in her room. Reme
wonders what they are planning. In Con’s room, A tells her that she is going to
go to nearby towns to find a child. Con says that she and En will do some
looking of their own. Ch feels bad that
N and F are caring for him when he should be caring for them. Ch assures them that he’s going to be around
for a while. N and Ch tell F that he has to go back to school tomorrow. Con asks En to go with her to visit the town
and the surrounding areas- Ed is surprised that she is interested now. Con
tells him that since she’ll have to stay here longer, she’ll have to find some
way to entertain herself. The kids come
home and ask about F- L tells them that Ch is sick and F stayed home to care
for him. Cas sees F walking down the
street and stands in his way. Ed tries

neck- Cas orders F to apologize for
hitting him. F says that he won’t apologize b/c Cas called him a liar and he’s not a liar- Cas insists that he’ll let
F go if he apologizes. Just then, the other kids run up and Bl pulls Cas away from F, telling him that he warned him
not to mess with F. The girls start
hitting him while Bl twists his arm around- Cas tells them to stop and runs
off. Ed gets on his horse and tells one
of the field-hands (Fabian?) to tell anyone who asks for him that he does not know where Ed is. N prays to the Virgin Mary she has in her
house, asking her to guide her through these
rough times. Ed rides up to N’s house and remembers one of the times he
saw N. He walks up to her front door
and goes inside- the place is empty. He asks God how he could have been capable of doing something so
horrible. He walks outside and notices N sitting by F’s boat (La Esperanza)- he runs up behind her and kneels down
next to her. She looks away as she
apologizes- she was just saying goodbye to the place she loves so much, where she was so happy next to her greatest
loves. She gets up to leave, but Ed asks her
to stop- you don’t know how bad I feel for asking you to leave your
house. “Why? You are the owner,” she
says. She starts to walk again, but he catches her arm- he tells her that he needs to explain the situation to her.
She turns around and tells him that he has no
need to give her an explanation- please, just let me go. Cas runs into his house, slams the door, and
starts making plans to ruin the lives of Bl, B, Mari, and F- he is going to steal everything of theirs that he can
get his hands on. The kids run back
into L’s cafe- they tell L about Cas. F says that since Cas is bigger than they are, when he falls down, he’ll fall
from higher up and hurt himself more! L tells
them not to fight with Cas- he has become very rebellious since his
mother died. The kids rethink their
attitude about Cas- F feels sorry for Cas b/c neither one of them has a
mom. Ed asks N to hear him out- then,
he will never bother her again. She doesn’t understand why he’s insisting- haven’t you hurt me
enough? Ed wants to know if N will ever forgive him- N says that she has nothing to forgive. The land is his and
he can do whatever he wants with it. He
tells her that the land isn’t his- he wants to know what he could possibly do to remedy the pain that he’s
caused her. She doesn’t understand what he
wants- he says he wants her to not to resent him so much. N wonders why
he would care what she thinks- the Duke
gave her father this land and she has grown up loving the beach. The whole time, he looks down at the
sand. She turns back around and tells him
that she grew up believing that the land was hers- then, he showed up
and told her that she had to leave b/c
it belonged to someone else. “Can you imagine how I felt?” she asks, “You can’t possibly imagine b/c you’ve
always had everything. Who would dare to take
something away from you!?” Ed asks her again if she could ever forgive
him- she looks at him, trying to figure
out what his deal is. The kids do their
homework- they are planning something, but we don’t know what yet.
Mar comes in and asks about N- L tells
him that she went down to the beach to get the
last of her belongings. N tells
Ed that it is pointless for him to keep talking to her- she gets a little rude
and tells him he should be with his
girlfriend. He says that he has a girlfriend and she has a boyfriend- she says that she has to go b/c
today she starts her new job. “Your new job?”
he asks. She tells him that she has to do something else now because she
can’t do pottery anymore- she has
nowhere to harden her clay items. She will have to forget about the job that she learned from her mom- he looks like
he could either cry or bury himself in the
sand! Mel tells Ch that she’s
happy he feels better- she asks about his family. He has a nephew, the son of his brother, but he has not seen
him in a long time. He asks about V- Mel
hopes that he will stay for good when he comes back from his trip. Cas’s father comes home- Cas asks if he
wants something, but his dad tells him to take
the kites off the wall and leave him alone. Cas walks away, very
sad. Mar comes to visit Ch- he tells Ch
that his fishing has been bad. Mar says that he can’t get sick- otherwise, who else will take care of all of them. Con and En talk about their “plan.” If they
find a boy before A does, they won’t have to
give her any of their money!
Mar’s car breaks down on the way to see N. N asks Ed to leave her alone and forget she ever existed- let me
live my life with the people from my
class, the ones I can relate to. She reminds him that they will never be the same- he belongs to another world. He
tells her that he’s the Duke’s nephew, and his
uncle never saw a difference in the classes. N says that his uncle isn’t
alive anymore- before you got here, I
was happy. My mom was gone, but God gave me a gift of love- he came to give me the light I needed in my
life. Now, I will dedicate my life to make him
happy- Ed says that he isn’t happy right now either. He asks her again
to forgive him- she walks away from him
down the beach without saying a word.
Reme and R are in the kitchen making dinner- Reme is surprised that the
one that looked the nicest (Ed ) turned
out to be the cruelest. R tells her not to talk about the Duke’s family- Reme insists that she does not
understand how Ed could have been so mean to
kick N out of her house. R says that he probably had his reasons- Reme
wants to visit N, but she doesn’t know
what to say to her. R tells her that she doesn’t have to say anything- her friendship is more than enough. R tells
Reme that Ed feels very badly about what he
did- R insists that Ed is a good man. Reme doesn’t think so. Doc’s wife is on the phone with D- she tells
D that she knew Con would call to
apologize. That day was the day that Ed came back, and Ed did not come
to Doc’s house either. Doc’s wife
reminds D that a woman from Spanish high-society must feel bad here- and then, to top it all off, Ed
postpones their wedding! D says that at least the postponement will serve to knock her down off her high horse- she
thinks she is the Princess of Oriol and
that she has come to conquer the town. Doc’s wife laughs and says that she hasn’t even been able to conquer
her own fiancé! D comes up with an idea- she
should have a party for Ed and Con’s departure to Spain. She thinks that
Con won’t have the nerve to say that
the wedding has been postponed- Doc’s wife tells her that they should seriously have a party for her. They
are eventually going to leave anyway. R
tells Naz that she doesn’t understand what happened to Sol and her son- if they
were on their way here, they should
have arrived a while ago. Naz doesn’t understand that or why the power of attorney and the letters
the Duke wrote to Sol and her son disappeared.
Reme thinks that En was snooping around somewhere and found them- R
tells her not to be so pessimistic. Naz
tells R that you never know, you never know.
Ed walks his horse down the beach,
remembering all of the things N told him- he needs to help her somehow or he will never live in peace. Mar drives
up. The kids agree to something and
tell L that they are going to Ch’s house with F. Ed says that he and Mar have to talk- Mar regrets having offered
Ed his friendship, especially since Ed
thinks he is worth nothing. Ed tells Mar not to be stubborn and to let him explain- Mar says he can’t. The fishing
has been bad and “we poor people try to
make a living wherever we can.”
The kids go to the hacienda- F meets up with another child who goes to
look for the Duke. F thinks that they
could live there comfortably. N wonders
why she has allowed herself to fall in love with Ed- she thinks she loves
him more and more each day. She begs
the Virgin Mary to not allow her to love Ed- he is out of her league and will hurt her very
much. En walks up behind F and asks him
who he is- F says that he’s Felipin and he wants to see the Duke (Ed). En wants to know why F wants to see him- F
says that he can’t say. En says that he
is the Duke. Mar’s friends can’t
believe what Ed did either. F says that
En isn’t the Duke- En is amazed that F doubts his word. F tells him that
he knows the Duke- he bought me a
balloon. F calls En a liar- En remembers him as the boy who ran into him in town a few days ago. En
tells F that he won’t get away with it so
easily this time- then, he grabs F by the shirt. N tells L that Ed came to see her- he
apologized to me. L assumes that N can go back to her house, but N insists that she can’t b/c the house isn’t hers.
She wants to believe Ed’s apology, but
she can’t. Ed thinks about N more- he
thinks that everything he has done is so that he doesn’t have to be far from her. F yells for En to let him go, then F gets
away. F runs up to the kids and tells them to leave before En comes out. L
tells her that if Ed apologized to her, then he can’t be a bad man- couldn’t he
really be sorry? N says that he kicked
her out of her house- his apology doesn’t help me. L wonders if she is crying for her house or the person who took it
away- Ed. Mari and B get lost running
away from the hacienda. L tells Mel
that she thinks N is in love with Ed. Mel wonders why she didn’t fall in
love with Mar instead. N goes into a pottery shop and asks the
owner for work- he feels bad, but he can’t help her. Reme compliments P’s
table-setting abilities and wonders if it is b/c O is at the hacienda today- P smiles and says that Reme is not
very subtle. P asks if it is that obvious- Reme tells her yes. They laugh and P says that O is a great man. Ed thanks O for coming so quick- O tells him
that the investigators found Sol’s village
and her address, but the house was abandoned. Sol remembers carrying around a baby F- she begs God to give her
back her memory. N tells L that she
might leave the town for a while- L tells her that she will not allow N to leave.

happy that Con can talk to her. D thought that she would be too busy planning her wedding since the date is
approaching fast- Con tells her she is
so sweet, that everyone in town is so sweet. D wants to know the exact date of
her wedding b/c she wants to throw Ed
and Con a party before they leave for Spain- Con pretends that she can’t hear D and hangs up. She looks at the
phone angrily and says “hypocrite! You
want to know if I am getting married after all!” Mar overhears N talking to her mom in heaven- she says that she
is sad b/c she can’t work doing what
her mom taught her. She promises her mom that she won’t let anything bring her down- Mar walks in and tells her
that he likes her attitude. N starts to get mad at him for eavesdropping, but he tells her that he wants to help
her somehow. He feels bad for buying
his boat- N says that God knows why he does things and that things will get better for both of them. Ed is looking all over the house for Con- he
asks En about her. En asks him if he’s going
to call their mother to tell her about the wedding postponement. Con is mad- she tells Ed that D called her
to laugh at her for the wedding postponement.
She will be everybody’s laughing-stock. Ed thinks back to what N told
him- Con notices and tells him that he
doesn’t even pay attention to her. Ed tells her that they are leaving for Spain at once and that the wedding will
NOT be postponed. Con is happy, but
wonders why he changed his mind- Ed says that he agrees with her about
life moving on. Just because they stay
in Mexico does not mean that they will find Sol and her son any faster. Con hugs him and he hugs her back
with a very sad look on his face- she thinks to herself that soon she will be his wife AND the Duchess of
Oriol. The boys are stuck behind a wall
and the girls are trying to get them out without getting their parents involved. F asks B and Mari to
go get a strong branch so he and Bl can
climb it out. Bl doubts that the girls will be able to help them. Mari
wants to ask Ben for help- B thinks he
is a traitor sometimes.
L asks N why she is so quiet- Mel
reminds her that N has been through a lot lately and she has every reason to be quiet. L tells N that the only thing
that they have done to her is take away
something that wasn’t hers to begin with- Mel tries to stop L, but N says that
L is right. L says that they have to
try at least to save her potting materials, but the house was never hers. P praises Reme and R’s pastries- Con runs into the kitchen and
announces that the wedding is back on!
Con then tells P that they should talk in her room- this matter only concerns P and Con. After they’re gone, Reme
starts mocking Con- R tells her not to
disrespect the “patrones” (does anyone know a good word for them in
English? “Owners” is too weird.). Reme
says that she respects the patrones, but not Con. Ed tells Naz that he’s leaving for Spain in a few days. The girls throw the rope-branch over to the
boys- Bl tries to climb up it, but it breaks. He falls down on the ground, hard. B falls after him, since she was
anchoring the rope- branch. Now, three
out of the four kids are stuck- plus, B has hurt her arm. P is happy for Con- Con is happy that she
did not call her mom to tell her that the
wedding was postponed. Suddenly, she remembers D- as she walks out of
her room, she runs into A. She asks A
to follow her. One of the townsmen at
L’s cafe is surprised to see N working there- he asks her about her vases. She tells him that she has
stopped making them for a while- she is helping L for now. He says that it is a good thing and a bad thing- good
b/c L needs the help, but bad b/c she
has a real gift for pottery. Mar walks in and tells N that he is going to get
a loan to help N fix her oven. N tells
him that he should wait- Mar says that he lives and works for her, so it is worth it. Naz tells Ed that he is going to miss him- Ed says that he can’t
lie to Naz. He cannot forgive himself
for the pain that he’s caused N for no reason. Naz believes that if Ed
hurt anyone, he did not do it
intentionally. Naz offers his help with anything- Ed understands more and more each day why his uncle
respected Naz. Naz thinks to himself that history is repeating itself- the same thing that happened to the Duke is
now happening to Ed. Con is happy that
she’s returning to Spain- A is sad b/c Con won’t need her anymore. Con tells her that she is mistaken. Mari runs up to Juan Simon (the kid from the
hacienda that helped the kids earlier). They
bring a real rope to help the kids.
P asks En to take her to find N- En is more than happy to help. The kids wrap the rope around themselves,
and Mari and JS pull them up one at a time.
Mel gets worried about the kids, but L tells her to wait longer- it
isn’t that late. Mar’s business associate
tells Mar that he could get a loan from A.
JS wraps B’s hurt arm with a scarf so she can go home without moving it
too much. The kids thank JS for helping
them out- he is a real friend. He thanks them for considering him their friend. A tells Sol that Car will probably visit her tonight- she should
give Sol a name, or Car will suspect
something. She decides on “Morena,” but Sol tells her that her name is “Lena,” not Morena. A looks at her like
she’s crazy and insists that her name is Morena- Sol gets confused and agrees with A. P and En come in to talk to N- they ask her to return to her
house. En says that it is not fair for
her to suffer b/c his brother wants to grant another one of his fiancee’s
wishes- N says that the house isn’t
hers. P begs her not to decide now- En tells N that his brother is going to Spain to get married, but he does
not want to leave with a guilty conscience. N
thanks P for her kindness- then tells En that he can tell his brother
that he can leave with a clear conscience.
P asks her to at least finish the vases that she promised to make for the chapel- En asks her to think about it.
You don’t want to give Con the satisfaction of
knowing that she kicked you out of your house- it IS your house because
you have lived there your whole life.
They leave N alone to think.
The kids come to visit Ch- Mel walks in
right behind them. L asks N if they
came to ask her to go back to her house- when N says yes, L asks her what she is going to do. N says that she
doesn’t want to be the butt of their joke again, but she honestly doesn’t know.
En and P walk in and tell Con and Ed that N did not accept to return to
her house- Con asks Ed if he actually
cares what she thinks. Ed says yes- En asks Con if she’s still interested in her cabana by the sea. Con
tells him “of course not! I don’t even plan to
come back here!” Mel thanks Ch
for curing B’s wound- the kids leave, but Ch tells them to come back tomorrow for a surprise. Con asks P to forget her anger- P tells her
that she knows why P is angry at her. Con says
that if it is b/c of N, it is not even worth it to think about her. Con
says she is so happy, that she is going
to fix this situation once and for all- P asks her what she’s going to do. Con tells her that she is tired of everyone
worrying so much about someone that they will
probably never see again- P says that she does not know what Con’s plan
is, but she should leave N alone. Con says
that they will visit D first- then, she will see what Con’s plan is. P says she will miss this place-
Con says “especially O!” En tells Ed
that he works so hard, but he isn’t even the owner- when his cousin
appears, we don’t know what will
happen. Ed says that until the child appears and becomes a legal adult, I am in charge of my uncle’s
estate. En reminds Ed that while the child and
the power of attorney are missing, both of them are equal owners of
everything. Mar tries to think of a way
to help N- the next morning, Mar comes to find N at L’s cafe. N brings Ch his breakfast- she yells at him
for wanting to work today. Ed tells O
that En will stay behind to keep an eye on things- he asks O to find N a
house and make sure that she has all of
the necessary elements to do her pottery. O asks why he cares so much- Ed says that he feels
guilty. Ch studies B’s arm- it is
better now. F tells everyone about how his mom cured him. Ch tells the kids not to lie- B wants to lie to
her mom about how she hurt her arm. Mar
tells L that his business partner couldn’t lend him any money- L tells him not
to regret his decision to buy his boat.
N walks in- Mar assures her that everything will be OK. L tells Mar that P and En came yesterday to see N- they want
her to return to her house. Mar asks N
if she’s going to go back after everything they’ve done to her.
D is happy to invite all of the
townspeople to the party she is throwing for COn and Ed’s return to Spain- Con informs her that they
are leaving within a few days. They talk about
how Con will be a Duchess and how great it is to be royalty in
Europe. Ch tells the kids a story about
a young shepherd- the kids imagine F as the shepherd while Ch tells the story. F lays down to nap, but B comes up and
orders him to wake up and tend to his
sheep. F says that if he loses any sheep, he’ll just say that a wolf ate it-
no one will know the difference. B
tells him that lying is bad- she leaves him asleep. L tells N to think very carefully about what she’s going to do-
she should be happy and being a potter
is her happiness. N thinks that she shouldn’t go back- Mar tells her not
to listen to his bad advice. Ed tells R and Naz to stay and watch over
the house- he says that he personally will give Sol and her son their inheritance. Mari insists for Ch to finish the story- F counts his sheep and
he is missing one. He goes to his uncle
(Bl) and tells him that a wolf ate the missing sheep- Bl got so scared that
he went for his rifle. F got scared at
the rifle. Con insists that she has a
plan. B asks Ch if there really was a
wolf- Mari reminds her that F was just lying to his uncle. Bl stayed up many nights waiting for the
wolf, but he never appeared. One night, F came
running in, telling his uncle about the wolf, but his uncle was asleep.
His uncle ran outside, but came back
later, not finding the wolf. F kept telling the same lie, laughing at his uncle’s reaction, until one day, a wolf
really appeared. A very scared F started to

Ch tells the kids that F yelled for someone to help him. The wolf tells
F that he didn’t come to eat his sheep-
I came to eat you! He tells F not to scream- since everyone knows he is a liar, no one will come to rescue
him. Bl asks if the wolf ate F. Con
tells N that she can go back to her house right now if she wants- N
doesn’t understand their game. First,
they kicked her out of her house, and now they want her to go back. Con is confused- she did not
realize that someone else already asked her to go back to her house. N tells her that P and En came yesterday- Con
says that she does not usually give
explanations to people, but she will explain the situation to N. Con asks N
if she really wants to know why Ed
kicked her out- N tells her not to bother. The house belonged to the Duke and now it belongs to you. Con tells her
that for precisely that reason, she asked
her fiancé to build her a cabana there- I did not know you lived there! N reminds her that her fiancé did know she
lived there- Con asks N if Ed ever came to
see her at her house. N says yes.
Naz and Ed ride up to Sol’s old house- they realize the house is
abandoned. Naz tells him that the Duke
ordered that the house be left the way Sol left it- he used to come by and stay for hours, sadly remembering her. Con asks N when Ed came to visit her- N says
that he came the day he kicked her out of
her house. Con says that she is no longer interested in doing anything
there- she is going to marry Ed next
week and he has no intention to return to Mexico. Con tells her not to be stupid- she accidentally committed an
injustice against N. She asks N to forget the
misunderstanding- she wants everything to go back to normal. She turns
around and leaves, with Reme following
close behind. Mari (as a sheep) asks
the wolf not to eat F- F promises not to lie anymore. The wolf decides not to eat F if he really doesn’t
lie anymore- if he hears that F ever lies again, he’ll be back! F thanks the sheep for saving him- the sheep tells
him that kids shouldn’t lie b/c when
they tell the truth, no one believes them. Bl reminds Ch that he told a
lie- wolves and sheep don’t talk. B
tells them that sheep talk- they say “beh, beh!” and I see them (“Beh” sounds exactly like the Spanish
word “ve,” which means “look.” I just love
the play on words! It is so cute!)
En is at a cafe with O’s secretary- he
asks her if he ever met Magdalena de la Soledad. She doesn’t remember her, but her mom will know. The kids meet up with JS- he has a dove. He
asks the kids to keep it for him- he can’t
have it at his house. JS tells the kids that they have to take care of
it- feed it corn or bread. Cas sends
Ben to find out what the kids have- he’ll share his sandwich with Ben if he goes to talk to them. En goes to A’s house- he makes a face at the
smell in her house (probably the dog’s
smell). Cas walks up to the
kids- Mari tells him that the dove is hurt. After looking at the dove, Cas tells them that they shouldn’t even
bother- the dove will die. Naz comes up
to Mar at the beach and asks him to accept Ed’s help- Mar says that he wouldn’t even accept water from the Duke’s
family. Naz insists that Ed is a good man,
like the Duke- Mar doesn’t think so. He kicked N out of her house
without any reason- who was she
bothering by living there? Mar tells Naz that it is his problem if he
trusts “those people,” but he doesn’t
trust them at all! A tells En that she
hasn’t found the right child yet- it is hard to find a child alone in the world that also has class and could pass for
a young Duke. Mari starts to cry- she
doesn’t want the dove to die. The other kids comfort her and tell her to ignore Cas- he insists that the dove
will die. En wants A to be very
discreet about the whole plan- suddenly, he sees Sol walk down the hall. He asks her who she is and what
her name is- she gets scared. En tells her that he won’t hurt her- she runs off scared. En tells A that he didn’t
know she was hiding such a beautiful
woman in her house! A tells him that she isn’t hiding the girl- she is caring for her b/c she is a little crazy. He
says that she is very beautiful, then leaves.
JS says that he has to go- Fabian asked him to look for a donkey that
ran away. Bl tells him to stop looking
so hard b/c he’s right here (Cas!). Cas tells Bl to shut up- they should be looking for a good place to bury the dove
b/c it is going to die! Cas leaves and Ben
follows him. JS leaves- F suddenly realizes who could help them cure the
dove. R and P are in the chapel- Con
comes in and tells them she went to ask N to return to her house. But she is so stupid! She doesn’t
want to go back to her house. P tells Con that she can just imagine how Con asked her- Con insists that she was very
polite and asks Reme to agree with her.
Reme hesitates and agrees with Con- Con says that she can’t so anymore now. She leaves to see Ed. P asks
Reme if Con told her the truth- Reme says
that Con did ask N to go back to her house, but in her own way. R and P
understand exactly what she means. The kids bring the dove to Doc- he says he
isn’t a vet. They say that he is a doctor- he can help anyone. He promises to help them. Con tells Ed that she talked to N- she offered her an apology and
begged her to come back to her
house. N tells L and Mel that Con came
to humiliate her- to rub in her face how much she and Ed love each other. L and Mel tell her not to pay attention to
Con- they remind her that she needs to
look out for what is best for her. L says that she will always have a home with them, but her life is there, at her
house. She should take advantage of what they are offering her- N doesn’t know what she’ll do if they kick her out
again. L tells her that by the look of
things, the Duke’s family is leaving and will never come back- who is
going to kick you out? Ed says that Con didn’t need to go talk to
N- P already went. Con tells him that she
accidentally was the cause of this misunderstanding- she doesn’t want Ed
to feel uncomfortable b/c of that. Ed
asks if N agreed- Con says that she doesn’t know. Despite her social level, she is proud. Con asks Ed
to take her out to ride a horse- he says that he has too much work to do. She reminds him that D’s party is
tomorrow- he wonders if he really has
to be there. Con tells him that the party is in honor of them- of course he has
to be there!!
Doc says that one of the dove’s wings is
broken- he says that they have to care for it until the wound heals. Then, they have to let it go- birds need their
liberty. En tells Con that A knows what
they need- En will stay behind while Con and Ed get married to ensure that they find the perfect people to pretend to
be Sol and her son. Con asks him what
will happen if the real Sol and her son show up- he says that he will be there to “cordially welcome them.” A reminds Sol again that she should hide in
her room while A has guests- En is a very
important person, a relative of the Duke. The word “Duke” reminds Sol of
something, but she doesn’t know what. A
laughs at her, as usual, and tells her not to open the door for anyone.
En tells Con that he met a beautiful woman at A’s house- both agree that
they didn’t know that A lived with
someone. En tells her that her beauty fascinated him- Con teases him, telling him that any woman interests
him. En says that San Felipe has very exotic
women- Con doesn’t agree with him. She hasn’t met one woman worth
anything here. “Even Nisa?” asks En.
Con doesn’t want to talk about her- En warns Con to take Ed away from here soon b/c N is a dangerous
rival. Mar doesn’t understand why Ed
kicked N out of her house, and now he’s trying to score points in his favor. N tells Mar to forget
about the whole story- N keeps reminding Mar
that he is a good friend. He keeps telling her that he loves her. F tells Ch that if they care for the bird,
it will get better. B asks if the dove will want to live with them when it gets better- Ch tells them that the bird
needs to be free. While the boys go get
some water for the dove, the girls watch the bird. B decides to follow them, but falls down. While Mari goes
to help her, she leaves the dove
unattended. Cas runs up with a cat and leaves it near the bird’s box.
The girls see the cat and scream. A asks one of the townsmen if he can find
out about a boy named Felipin- he says that he
needs more information than that. She says that all she knows is his
name- she wants to find out who his parents
are. N tells Mar that she’s worried
about Ch- he needs to get some tests done. Mar says that he’ll figure something out- N says that she
will find the money b/c Ch is like her father.
The bird is safe- the boys chased the cat away. Car knocks on A’s door- Sol tells him that A
will be back soon. “Why don’t you open the
door for me, girl?” Car asks. Sol tells Car that her name is Morena.
Just as he is making sure that Morena
is her name, A drives up. The kids
decide to go home- the boys will fly the kite while the girls watch the bird.
Cas walks up behind them, the cat in his
arms. He decides not to steal their kite- there is no point. They can actually fly it- if he steals it, he won’t be
able to (I guess his father won’t let
him fly it?). Reme tells Fabian that
she feels like she betrayed N when she went with Con to see her. Fab asks Reme if Con is really that bad-
Reme says that Con is the type of person who
throws something at you, then hides her hand behind her back. Fab says
that those women end up hurting men
pretty badly. Reme gets upset and says that Fab is the same as all men- how many girlfriends have you
had? Before he can defend himself, Reme
runs off, leaving poor Fab a little confused!
En tells Ed that he’s going to stay
until Sol and her son show up- of course, he will count on Naz and O’s house. Naz thanks him for the
vote of confidence- Ed asks him how long
he plans to stay. En says that he can stay until their wedding, then
come back afterwards- En tells him that
he will keep Ed posted. DAMN ELIAN!!!!
AT ABOUT THIS POINT, THE NOVELA WAS INTERRUPTED BY A “QUICK” NEWS FLASH ABOUT ELIAN. APPARENTLY, THE APPEALS COURT SAID THAT HE SHOULD STAY IN THE U.S.
UNTIL MAY. I ASSUME THAT I MISSED A
PIECE BETWEEN COMMERCIAL BREAKS BECAUSE WHEN
THE NEWS FLASH ENDED, IT WAS COMMERCIALS AGAIN (TEN MINUTES LATER).
N tells A that F has nothing to do with this- N needs the money so Ch
can get some tests done. A says that
she has no guarantee that N will pay her back- she just lost her house, so now she won’t even be able to do her
pottery. N says that she can still go back to her house to work and she will pay back every last cent- A doesn’t
believe her. She tells N to come back
when she can tell A more about the child who lives with her. N wonders why A wants to know about F. The kids come to see Ch- he says that he is
going to work. F tells Ch that a cat almost ate their bird yesterday- Ch tells the kids to leave the bird at
home. It isn’t good for the bird to be
going with them everywhere. He tells them that he will teach them how to
make kites later. N is at her house using her oven- En walks
up and welcomes her back to her house.

Con says that N is a hypocrite- she
pretended to be proud, but she ended up returning to her house. Ed asks Naz to finish working on the new
houses for the workers- his uncle wanted his
workers to have a more comfortable place to live, so he wants to make
sure his uncle’s wish comes true. Ed
tells Naz to tell both O and En about any developments while Ed is gone. Naz tells Ed that Mar did not want his
help. En tells N that he is not going
back to Spain. N tells En that she really has no time to talk- she must finish her vases before P
leaves for Spain. En tells N that he is very happy that she returned to her house- then he leaves. Ed tells Con to go on ahead to D’s party
with En and P- he will catch up with them when
he is done with his work. Con tells him that she wants everyone to see
her arrive with her fiancé- he tells
her that he will try to hurry. Con leaves, but En enters the room. He asks Ed if he is really going to show up- D’s
house is near the beach. He shouldn’t stop by the beach on his way, especially now that N has returned to her
house. The kids play some kind of a
name game that is timed (I guess that you have to come up with certain words before time runs out).
Mar comes in to L’s cafe and asks the kids if
they are ready to go to see N at her house. Con pretends to be amused while she’s waiting for Ed to show up-
she’s a little condescending, as usual.
D’s husband tells Con that he is honored to have the Duke’s family in his house- she thanks him and
hands him her empty glass (like it is his job to get rid of it for her!!!). He walks over to En and asks if his
brother will arrive soon- En says that
it depends on the route he chooses to come here. N walks along the edge of the water- Ed walks up behind her. They
circle each other- then Ed holds out
his hand to her. She takes it and reaches for the other hand- they come closer and kiss. They smile at each other
and he caresses her face. L tells Mar
that N went to finish her vases very early this morning- she wants to
finish them before the Duke’s family
leaves. Mar didn’t know they were leaving- he is happy b/c they only came to bother everyone here.
Mar asks if N plans to return to her house-
Mel doesn’t know. Mar tells the kids that it is time to go- Mari says
she’ll stay to guard the dove. B asks
what they should name the bird- Mari says that whatever F wants to name it is OK. F says that whatever Mari
wants to name it is OK- they smile at each
other.
N and Ed sit and stare at the waves- Ed
tells N that he loves her. She moves in closer to sit next to him and he puts his arm around her. Con wonders why Ed doesn’t show up- D
attempts to introduce a friend of hers to Con,
but Con is distracted watching the door to see if Ed walks in. Con
insists on why Ed is late- what if
something happened to him? Ed gets up
and takes N’s hand to pull her up- they walk towards her house. Ed
apologizes for daring to kiss her- he
couldn’t help himself. She misinterprets his statement and thinks that he didn’t want to kiss her- he
reassures her that he has wanted to kiss her
again for a long time! He tells her again that he loves her and they
start spinning in circles. He says he
wants to tell the world that he loves her- he starts screaming at the top of his lungs that he loves N. In the
process, he trips over her work bench and falls to the floor, laughing uncontrollably. They sit on
her workbench- she asks him if he has to go.
He tells her that he came to say goodbye- he is leaving tomorrow for
Spain. “To get married, right?” says
N. Con calls the hacienda, but they
tell her that Ed left a long time ago. En implies that Ed might have stopped by N’s house on the way.
Con starts getting hysterical- En tells her
not to go to N’s house. She should wait for Ed here- she might not like
what she finds. She demands his car
keys, then storms out of D’s house, pushing a waiter (with a food tray in hand) and several guests out of her
way. N tells Ed that they are so
different that they could never be together- Ed tells her that the only difference between them is that he has
been engaged to Con for a long time. He
grabs her hand and tells her that he has to keep his promise to Con- she
drops his hand. Mar and the kids get in
his car to go to N’s house and surprise her with a visit. B tells Mar that she knows he loves N- every time he
sees her, he gets very happy. Ed tells
N that he’s leaving and that he might never see her again- he just wants her
to know that the love she has inspired
in him is the purest sentiment he has ever felt. She tells him that she loves him and they kiss again. Con is driving so fast to catch Ed with N
that she doesn’t notice a woman crossing the
street- she swerves to avoid her and the car spins out of control,
crashing into a tree. Mar and the kids
drive by and see Con’s crashed car. Mar goes to look and tries to get Con
out of the car. Mar and one of the
hacienda workers (who just rode up on a horse) carry her to Mar’s car- they will take her to the town
clinic. (Doesn’t anyone worry that she might
have broken her neck?) The
hacienda worker tells D’s maid that Con had an accident.
Ch tells Mel not to bother bringing him
food- she doesn’t have to. She insists that
everyone loves him and wants to see him feel better. Ch says that he has
a small piece of land in the capital-
he wants to give N a house on that land with her own little oven so she can keep doing her pottery. Mel tells
him that they love him b/c he is a good man-
always thinking of others before himself. Mar puts Con on a gurney and they wheel her away- she asks for
Ed. By now, it is nighttime. Ed says
that he doesn’t want to leave N- but he has to. N says bye again- En drives up and says that he knew he
would find Ed here. Ed asks why En is
there- En tells him that Con came to look for him and had an accident.
Ed asks how she is- En doesn’t know.
All he does know is that Con had her accident near here and she was very upset that Ed hadn’t shown up at
the party. Ed leaves. En says goodbye to N and
reminds her that the most important thing in the world to Ed is Con. He
pats her head and she gives him a dirty
look. P arrives at the hospital with O,
Doc, and Doc’s wife. P notices Mar and asks him what he is doing there. He tells her that he was the one who brought
her here- she tells him that she will
be forever grateful to him for bringing Con to the clinic. Con screams in pain when Doc examines her
leg- he thinks that her leg is broken, but an
X-ray will confirm it. Con doesn’t want to have to postpone her wedding-
Doc tells her that he will have to put
a cast on her leg. He wants her to calm down, but she says that only Ed will make her calm. She tells Doc to
ask P if Ed has arrived yet- also, she wants
to see A. The kids pass by A’s
house- Cas and Ben are sitting on the front stoop of the house next door to hers. Cas tells them that they
shouldn’t pass by A’s house at night- they might run into the ghost! F doesn’t believe him. D and her husband walk the last guests to the door. Nelly (D’s
friend) hopes that nothing bad happened
to Con- otherwise, her wedding will have to be postponed! Cas says that since he isn’t scared of the
ghost, the ghost doesn’t bother him- but you
guys... “But us what?” asks Bl. Just then, someone drives up to A’s
house, knocks on her door, and tells
her something. A hurries into his car and they drive away. The kids wonder what is going on. Ed walks in and kneels next to Con’s bed- he
asks her what happened. She asks him
where he was and with whom. N
cries in her house- Ed told me he loved me, but he really loves Con. He doesn’t
love me. Mar walks in and wants to know
why she is crying. The kids notice that
A’s door is open- Cas dares Bl, F, and B to go into A’s house since they are so brave. Ed tells Con to be calm- Con tells him that she can’t be calm
after everything that has happened to
her. It is all your fault- you don’t love me! Ed promises her that he
won’t leave her side while she is in
the clinic. N tells him that she is
just nostalgic about her house. Mar tells N about Con’s accident. Bl, B, and F accept Cas’s dare and go into
A’s house- Cas promises to stay outside to
keep an eye out for A. As soon as they go in, Ben and Cas leave so that
they won’t get in trouble with A. Mar mentions to N that Ed wasn’t at the
clinic.
Ed tells P that Con will be OK- she is
in the X-ray room. Ed tells A that she won’t be able to talk to Con tonight- he will go pick her up tomorrow so
that she can visit Con. Sol is in her
room, trying to draw something (maybe a picture of a memory she can’t understand?). The kids hear a noise and see Sol’s
shadow behind the curtain of her door-
they think it is the ghost. The kids bump into a plant and make a noise-
Sol hears. The kids start running away,
but A walks in and asks them what they are doing in her house. No one is leaving this house!!! Doc tells the family that she only fractured
her tibia- nothing serious. She will need a cast for a few weeks. P tells Ed that now the wedding will have to be
postponed. En tells Ed that he finally
got what he wanted- Ed asks him to go home. Ed and P say that they will stay with Con- P tells Ed that if he had
been with her at the party, none of this would
have happened. L and Mel start
getting worried about the kids- they assume that they are with N and Mar, but N and Mar walk into the cafe alone. The kids try to run away- A catches B. Bl

checked yet. She caught them in the act and was able to catch Bl- even though the others got away, she will be
happy if they put at least this child in jail.
Fabian is falling asleep at the table- R tells him to go to sleep, but
he wants to wait up for the patrones.
Reme is upset- if Con doesn’t leave, they will have to put up with A the witch.
The policeman thinks that A is exaggerating a little- you don’t even
know if they robbed you. A insists that
he should lock up Bl for many years. L shows up and Bl runs to hug her. The kids, Mel, Mar, and N walk up
behind L. P leaves to get Con a
blanket- Con tells Ed that she feels bad and sad. She begs him not to leave.
L asks what happened- A tells L that Bl will be locked up for good. Mar
tells A that the kids are innocent- L
apologizes and F assures A that they won’t even walk in front of her house. A says that this time she’ll be
generous and not press charges- but this is the last time. A asks N if F is her son- F says that he loves N like a
mom. The kids cheer when she
leaves. P asks Con if she is
comfortable- she says no. R offers her some help- Con wants help to get out of here as quick as she can! R and
Reme leave- A is outside. R goes back into
Con’s room to ask if A can come in- Reme stares at A. A asks her why she
is staring at her- did you lose someone
who looked exactly like me? Reme cannot imagine someone else like A existing in this world- R comes
out and tells A to leave the dog in the hallway. Ch comes to visit N- she is finishing her vases. Ch invites her
to his house later for a coffee. Con asks P to leave her and A alone. Con
tells A that she had her accident yesterday
when she went to find her fiancé- he was with that woman, N! A says that
they have to do something to get even
with N. Bl tells the kids that someone
lives with A- they don’t believe him. He insists that the ghost Cas was talking about is actually a
woman. F asks what she looks like- Bl says that she is very pretty, with long hair and big eyes, like F’s eyes. F
says that his mom looked like that- he
wants to go meet her. B reminds him that they promised not to go near A’s house. JS tells the kids that he could go to
A’s house and ask the woman who she is.
A walks up to N’s house- she reaches into her purse for something. N walks into L’s cafe- she says that she is
finally done with her work. You see N’s
house burning to the ground!!! A stops
her car and talks with the kids on the sidewalk. A asks F what his name is and
if N is his mom- he says that she
isn’t. She asks where his mom is- Mari starts telling A that F’s mom is dead, but Bl covers her mouth. He
says that F’s mom has moved into another
house and hurries the other kids away.
N comes to get the kids, but they got out early. N asks J how F is
doing- J says that F should go to
school in the capital. He already knows what we are learning- N says her situation is not good right now. N wishes
she could give him the best that is available. J asks how F is related to her- N tells her that F is her gift from
heaven. J tells her to ask Mar for some
money. N says that she has her own problems and Mar has his- there is no need for him to get involved. J asks N if
she loves Mar.
Mar is talking on the beach with his
friends- a man runs up and tells him that N’s house is burning down. Mar and his friends throw buckets of water at
the house, but it is hopeless. One of
Mar’s friends tells Mar to ask Ed for help.
Doc asks Con how she’s feeling- she feels bad. Doc assures her that she
will be fine in a few weeks- Con
reminds him that she should be returning from her honeymoon in a few weeks. P tells her that she has no other
choice- she will have to postpone the wedding.
Con starts to cry- why did this happen to me? What if my leg doesn’t
heal properly? Doc tries to comfort
her, but Con snaps back at him that he doesn’t know how she is suffering. Con begs Ed to take her to the
capital to have the best doctors look over her
leg- Ed will take her as soon as it is OK for her to travel. Con whines
again about why this happened to
her. N tells J that she only sees Mar
as a brother- she wants to see Mar happily settled with a good woman who loves him very much. J
agrees- he needs a woman to love and
appreciate what a good man he is. N tells J that a woman like her would
be perfect for Mar. Ch is sitting down, holding his chest in
pain. The kids come in and ask how he is- he says that he feels better when he sees them. They give him a big
hug. Sol is making lunch- A walks in
and tastes it. She comments that the food is very good and asks Sol who taught her to cook. Sol
remembers that R taught her to cook- A makes
fun of her b/c she spaced out again. Did you have another memory? Mar runs into L’s cafe and asks L where N
is- she tells him and he leaves without telling them anything. Mari tells
Ch that B’s hair is growing- B tells Ch that she yanks her hair whenever
she remembers to help it grow faster.
Ch tells her that hair grows by itself- she does not need to yank it. B wants her hair to be long so
she can put it in pigtails and look pretty- F tells her that she looks pretty now. Bl says she looks like a boy- she
never wears dresses. Mari says that it
is great to be a girl- Ch agrees and says that girls are like flowers in a
field or stars in the sky. Ch tells
them that he has a surprise for them- he tells F to hand him a bag. Then, he tells them to close their eyes
and grabs something out of the bag. They
open their eyes and scream in delight- he has four yo-yo’s. The girls
get to pick first. B can’t do it too
well- Ch makes the strings shorter for them. N comes in- she found the kids.
D and Doc’s wife (what is her name?!) come to visit Con- Con tells D
that she was very upset and distracted
when she was driving. She lost control of the car without even realizing it. She tells them that Ed was
very worried about her. “And your wedding,
Connie?” asks D. “You’ll be the first bride to walk down the aisle with
one leg in a cast.” “No, Dori,” says
Con. “I do not plan on getting married that way so that everyone can make fun of me!” (I love the sarcasm in the
voices of the two girls when they call each
other “Dori” and “Connie.”) P doesn’t think that anyone will make fun of
her- she had an accident. Doc’s wife
asks if they are leaving for Spain as they had planned- P says that they will leave when Con can travel. D says
that it would be such a shame to cancel her
wedding- Con insists that her wedding will not be canceled. D wants to
make sure that her stay is enjoyable-
Con tells her that they won’t stay long.
Ed calls his mom- she can’t believe all of the things that have
happened. His mom asks about En- Ed
says that En is very happy here. Ed tells her that he does not want to
leave without finding Sol and her
son. Ch tells N that he is better- N
insists that he shouldn’t go out. The kids ask N if they could go to the beach house- N says that
they’ll see. Mar comes in- he tells N that he
house burned down. Ch grabs his chest and starts to feel bad again. En brings O’s secretary her food- he
apologizes for not calling her sooner. He tells her about Con’s accident, then asks what she found out about Sol. She
tells him that her mom remembers that
Sol worked at the hacienda. She lived with her dad and did not come to town often- it was rumored that she
was in love with the Duke. She also tells
him that Ch loved her very much, too- En tells her that he knows who Ch
is. She tells him that she knows where
Ch lives.
D leaves- Doc’s wife (Catalina) asks Con
why she hates the hacienda so much. She says
that she had a bad feeling that things would go badly here- Con asks her
what Sol looked like. A asks Sol where she learned to set the
table so nicely- who taught you how to cook and set a table and have class? A wonders if she was a rich man’s
girl, then one day she killed him- Sol
starts to get confused and upset. Someone knocks at the door, so A goes to
get it. A man needs to borrow some

Cata gets up to leave- R comes in with a wheelchair, compliments of Doc.

and Fab catch up to Ed and tell him what happened. Ch tells N that she should leave- she wants to see what she will
find in the ashes. B tells N that the

kids get scared. At the clinic, N tells Mar that she knew Ch
was sick. F and Bl leave. Ed, Naz, and
Fab ride up after everyone has left- Fab assures Ed that the house was empty. Ed tells Fab to return to the
hacienda and not say a word. Naz says he will go to L’s cafe to find N. It

everything will be OK- they will go to the capital to get . He wants to go home- there is no need to go to the capital.
N orders him to stay in the hospital.
Con whines- where is Ed? She complains that Ed never told her where he
was yesterday. She whines that she is
alone- no one cares about her. Ed is
upset that he couldn’t find N- Reme comes up and tells him to go see Con. Con tells Ed that she feels like she’s dying- he
asks what he can do for her. She tells him to be with her all the time and just love her- he tells her that he
might not have given her all of the
time she’s needed. She asks him where he’s been lately- he says that he was at
N’s house. P looks at him, shocked that
he actually admitted it. Ed explains- N’s house has burned down. P feels bad for N- Con tells them that they
shouldn’t worry b/c the house wasn’t
N’s anyway. Con says that her leg hurts to change the subject- she says she’ll
feel better when Ed stays with
her. N feels like she’s living a nightmare-
both Mar and N stay at the clinic all night. Mar leaves for work in the morning.
Con whines more about her leg- Ed says that he’s going to look for Doc. A talks nicely to the kids- she offers them
a ride to school. Chacho (Ch’s dog) and Adela
(A’s dog) bark at each other. The kids leave. Ed finds Doc in the clinic- he bumps into N. She tells him that
she hopes his girlfriend feels better-
just then, Mar walks up. Ch walks up to them- Ed asks how he feels. Mar and Ch leave- Ed tells her that he needs to
talk to her. Please meet me at the beach- I will wait for you every evening.
The kids debate over A’s invitation for some ice cream- what is she up
to? F feels sad today. A visits Con- they talk about N’s house. Con
felt happy when she first found out, but now
she’s scared- En walks in.
The kids feel bad about N’s house and
Ch’s illness. F decides that they need to work to help N. En asks Con what
she fears- he wants to know what they were talking about. He wonders if the two of them had something to do with
her house burning down- Doc, P, and Ed
arrive. A leaves- En tells Con that her leg looks bad and then
leaves. Mar and N convince Ch that he
has to go to the capital immediately- it is important. The kids tell Mel and L that they have to
work to help Ch, too. Car comes to see
A- Sol tells him that she cannot let him in. He waits outside- A drives up. He apologizes for not coming sooner. P tells Doc that Con did not rest yesterday-
she was up and about all day. Con complains
that no one understands her! She wants Ed to take her to the capital to
see another doctor- Doc says that she
can go to the capital to get a second opinion if she needs it. The kids admire the dove- it is healing. N
tells the kids and Mel that Ch is sick. N and Ch are going to the capital tomorrow. The kids go up to the pharmacist and ask him for work- he says
yes. They go around town asking several
different people- they all say yes. The kids visit Ch before he leaves tomorrow. He tells them a new story about a
prince in a castle who had no friends. F is
the prince. A beggar (F) comes in to where the prince is- they realize
that they look like twins, so they
decide to switch places. En asks Ed if
he trusts Doc’s opinion- his story about the Duke’s death seems to be odd. En tells Ed to get a second opinion- it
would be a shame if Con became an invalid b/c of Ed. N tells L that she bumped
into Ed yesterday- L tells her that Ed is in love with her. N thinks that Ed only told her to meet her at
the beach b/c he did not know what else to say. Con complains- where is Ed? P offers to look for him. Doc and Ed
come in with P- Doc checks her cast-
Con wonders how long it will take for her to feel comfortable. Doc prescribes a tranquilizer- Con says that she
does not want to take it. P tells Con that it is such a shame that Con behaves like a spoiled brat in front of
Doc. Ed rides his horse along the
beach- he looks for N. Con tries to
walk with her cast- P tells her that she will never get well if she keeps
getting up. P offers to bring the
wheelchair if she doesn’t want to lay down on her bed.
Con has a hissy fit- she is not an invalid and does not need a
wheelchair!! Ed waits for N- he gets
back on his horse and leaves when she doesn’t show up. The prince leaves the castle (dressed as a
beggar)- the beggar hopes he doesn’t get
caught. Mar asks the man from
the fish market for a loan- he says that he can only loan him part of what he needs. He suggests A as a
solution- Mar would rather not do that.
A tells Car that his company is so nice- A tells him that when she was
in the theater, everyone respected her.
She tells him about her theater life- he offers to have a photo shoot about her theater days. The king (Bl) falls asleep at a ball while F
dances with a girl (Mari)- everyone laughs at
his lack of dancing skills. The king gets very sick- he makes his son
promise to be a good leader. The king
dies- the prince comes back and tells the truth before the beggar can be crowned. The prince makes the beggar his
advisor for the rest of their lives. P
tells Ed about Con trying to get up- Con reminds Ed that he hasn’t been with
her all day. She promises to try not to
get up at all. The kids tell Ch to

done what I asked you to. After A leaves, D tells Con that A is such a
sinister woman- Con doesn’t think so.
En bumps into A in the hallway and says he wants to talk to her. Con complains to D- D asks her what Doc
said. Con doesn’t want to hear his name- D
says that he has always helped them when they have needed him, so she
has nothing bad to say about him. Con
insists that a doctor living in a little town like this couldn’t possibly have enough medical training- D
disagrees b/c rich people do not get sick
differently from poor people. D says it was a joke- Con says that
everyone makes fun of her. D tells her
about a good doctor. N and Ch arrive at
the hospital- Ch thinks there is a mistake b/c the hospital is too luxurious to be where Doc sent them. F mops outside of the pharmacy- the
pharmacist pays him for his work. Bl watches a
shoe-shine man doing his work to learn. B and Mari dust items in a store. En reminds A that she works for him- he asks
what she and Con had to do with N’s house
burning down. A says that probably N was careless and burned her own
house down- En doesn’t believe her. He
says that neither of the three of them (Con, A, or En) can betray the others for the good of all of them. D leaves- Ed and Doc come in. Con informs
them that she has information now about the
best doctor and the best hospital for her to get treated- Ed looks at
Doc, feeling embarrassed for Con’s lack
of tact. The kids pool their money- A
drives up. She asks them about the ice cream she offered- what about a popsicle, F? She asks the
vendor for a popsicle for F- F says that either she gets on for each of them or none at all. She agrees and gets four
popsicles. N and Ch leave the doctor’s
office and comment on how nice this doctor and Doc are- they didn’t ask us for anything! N says that
there are good people all around you- you just
have to know where to look. Once
again, Ed waits for N on the beach, but she doesn’t show up. Ed comes to L’s
cafe and asks to speak to N- L tells him
that she left town. Ed asks where she went and when she’s coming back- Mel tells him that she doesn’t know where she
went or if she’s coming back. He
leaves- both Mel and L agree that he is in love with N. They wonder if N will get to be with her Prince
Charming. Mar is at Ch’s house putting
away Ch’s cart- En drives up and says he wants to talk to Ch. Mar tells him that Ch is not here- En
leaves. Mar wonders what he wants. Ed
asks Naz if he knows where N is- ask R if she knows. Fab will ask Reme- she
knows everything. The kids bring the money to Mel and L- this
money could help us later. Mar comes in
and they show him the money. He tells them that N called and said that
she and Ch got in OK. Mar will take
care of Chula (the donkey) and Chacho (the dog) until Ch gets back.
The kids beg Mar to take them fishing
with him tomorrow before school- we could go
one at a time. Mar agrees. The
kids imagine how huge the city is. The
new doctor (Dr. Rios) tells N that Ch will be fine- they just need to run some
tests. N tells him how worried she is
about how much all of this will cost- she has very little money. He tells her that Doc is taking care
of it- Doc was my teacher and he is my
mentor. He asks her if she’s eaten- she says that she didn’t eat since
Ch had to come fasting for his tests.
He tells her that Ch has already eaten now- she can come eat with him in peace b/c Ch is well taken care of. The kids leave school to fly their kite- Cas
likes their kite very much and wants it. Ben
tells him that he doesn’t need another kite- the first one he stole from
them he can’t even fly. Cas says that
he only took it out of the tree and is guarding the kite- he didn’t steal
it. Reme doesn’t know where N is- she
knows Ch was sick, so maybe they took him
somewhere to see another doctor. Fab says that he went by Ch’s house
this morning and saw Ch’s cart alone
with no Chula or Chacho in sight. Reme says that she wasn’t so lost with her theory- Fab tells Reme to tell him
when she wants to get lost so that he can get
lost with her. She looks at him like he’s lost his marbles!! D comes to say goodbye to Con b/c they are
leaving today for the capital. Ed tells
O that he will be calling every day, just in case anyone needs anything. En
will stay behind. Naz comes in to talk
to Ed- Reme thinks that N took Ch to the port. Ed leaves Naz the name and number of his hotel- call me when you
find out anything. Mar is in
Filiberto’s shop when N calls- she is worried that they are running so
many tests. Mar tells her to call when
she knows anything- relax b/c everything will be OK. En asks Fab about Mar- what does he do? Fab says that he is just
a fisherman- he got a boat recently. En
asks if Mar bought it- Fab says that he is paying for it slowly, like a loan. But now Mar is desperate for money and
he wants to get rid of the boat. En
wonders why he needs money. Mar
two fishing buddies tell Mar that if he really needs money, they need to go
into bigger fishing (I guess this is
more complicated than what they are doing now. I am no fishing expert, so I am not sure what they
are referring to). En visits Alina on
his way in to see O- En wants to see the financial statements. He also wants to know how he can get a hold of a
large amount of money quickly. N asks
Dr. Rios how Ch is- he says that Ch’s condition is delicate. Doc is on his way
over here. A bumps into En in the street- she has good news. She has found a
potential child. En tells her that she
certainly took long enough- she says that she couldn’t see clearly [without being paid]. En tells her that he
wants to see results first- you won’t regret
helping us. N calls Mar and tells him she’s worried- Ch’s condition is
delicate and it is probably expensive!
F asks Mar what’s wrong. The kids
admire the dove- Mar and F walk in. Mar tells Mel and L that Ch is very
sick. The kids agree to work harder to
help Ch. Mar asks Don Porfirio to sell
his part of the boat- he needs his money back right away. Doc tells N that they found a tumor- but
they have to wait for all of the results to come back. Con puts on
lipstick in the hotel room- the doctor will see her tomorrow. Con says
that now she feels better- P tells her
that she’s incorrigible. N comes into
Ch’s hospital room- he sees that she’s crying and asks her if his situation
is really bad. She gives him a hug- he
tells her that they should go back home. Doc can treat me just fine. N says that they won’t leave
until Ch is better. Dr. Rios comes in and says
that Doc will come talk to him soon. Dr. Rios and N leave- Doc wants to
transfer him to a more specialized
hospital.
Mar goes to see O- he tells him that Ch
is sick. Alina comes in to drop off some papers. He doesn’t want O to lend him money- he wants O to tell him about
someone who could buy his half of the
boat immediately. He would be willing to sell the boat at his price if they pay him up front. Alina leaves. Reme and Fab come into L’s cafe- they came
b/c the patrones are in the capital taking
Con to a new doctor. Mel and L look at each other- Reme doesn’t
understand why they are making weird
faces. Mel says that N and Ch are in the capital too. Doc tells Dr. Rios that the only solution is to operate on Ch-
but Ch has high-blood pressure, so the
surgery is not easy. A drives by F- she
stops to talk. She asks him about his mom and dad- she leaves when she is satisfied with his answers. A tells
Adela (her dog) that she has finally found her
gold mine- F is the perfect child!

that Eduardo will overhear them.

F wakes up later, confused. He gets up and starts to walk again because
the rain has let up. Con doesn’t understand why R can’t tell Ed
that they found F- R says that Ed and Naz are
together and won’t be long. Bern runs in and asks about F- P says that
they don’t know where he is yet. Ed
walks in and Con tells him that they found F and that Fab went to get him. Ed tries to ask R if he’s OK, but Con
interrupts her, telling Ed that F is fine and that he should calm down. She tells R to get Ed a warm drink so he
doesn’t catch cold and tries to lead
Ed to sit down. Ed tells Con to stop.
JS and Fab go to where JS left F, but he’s gone. Fab thinks JS was
imagining things, but JS insists that
they should look for him. F was injured and he could not have gotten far.
Today: F prays to his guardian angel to help him. Just then, a man
walks up behind him- it’s Car. He
reaches out for F’s hand and helps him up.
Ed asks to speak to Bern- she says she’s prepared to accept her
responsibility. Con says that their
conversation can wait until later- he should change out of his wet clothes
first. Ed angrily tells Con that he
doesn’t matter right now! Con gets offended and says “this is what I get for caring about you! Don’t you
understand that if something happens to you, I’ll die!” P assures Con that Ed did not mean to offend her- Con
says that everyone is looking at her
like she is the guilty one. The only thing she did was try to prevent this whole situation from happening. Besides,
she reminds Ed that he gave her all authority to decide about F. Mar
leaves- L reminds N that Mar told them that Ed was worried about N. N
doesn’t understand- sometimes, Ed acts
like a cold and heartless person, yet other times his actions are capable of inspiring the greatest love. L tells N
that Ed looked happy when he gave her
the award for her vase- his eyes gave him away. N still hesitates- L tells her
to be wary of appearances because they
can deceive you. N says she only cares about F- if Ed makes F happy, that is enough for her. L tells her that she
has to worry about her heart, too- she
can’t control who she loves. Fab and
JS can’t find F, but they find his gifts. They decide to go back to the
hacienda to get help. N tells L that she lost her peace since Ed
came- L says that their love could be great, but they are too different. L reminds N that F found his family now-
she has no right to ruin his happiness
by forcing him to be with her.
En gets a hotel room in town- it is too
rainy to get back to the hacienda.
Doc and Cata decide not to go out- it is too rainy. Just then, the
doorbell rings- it is Car. He is
carrying F and begs Doc to help him. Doc asks Car what happened- Car says that
he was out taking some pictures, but
he got caught in the rain. He started to walk and found F.
Reme complains to R that everyone at the hacienda treats F badly- she is
going to go tell N tomorrow. R tells
her not to generalize- P spoils him rotten and Bern is just doing her job. R tells her not to go tell N- Reme
insists that they treat him worse than a fieldhand. P leaves the room to get a sweater, so Con takes advantage of
the opportunity and tells Bern that
this is the last time she will tolerate Bern not taking care of F. Bern insists
that this wasn’t her fault- Con asks
if Bern is blaming her. Bern says that Con didn’t let F go with his friends when he was very excited
to see them. Con asks if Bern is insinuating
that it is Con’s fault because she does not want to admit her own
negligence- Bern says she does not
want to blame her, but F had Ed’s permission to go. Since Con went against Ed’s plan and did not let him go, and F is
a very sensitive boy, he felt hurt that he could not go see his friends. (I love the sarcasm in Bern’s voice!)
Con reminds Bern that Ed’s mom sent
her to take care of F- if she cannot find a way to control him, Con will have
to fire her.
Car recognizes F after Doc cleans off
his wound- Doc confirms that he is the son of the Duke. They comment that he never met his father because the Duke
died before F got here. Car asks about
his mother- they tell him that his mother died while F and his mom were on their way to meet the Duke. Fab and JS come into the kitchen- R and
Reme ask about F. Fab tells them that he was
gone by the time they got there.
Naz tells Ed, P, and Con that Fab didn’t find F- all they found were
these toys. Ed asks where the toys
came from- P tells him that they were the toys F bought for his friends in the city. Cata cares for F and laments that she never had a child of her
own. Doc tells Car that the phone is
dead- Car offers to go to the hacienda himself. Doc prefers to wait a few
more hours- he is delicate, but he
will be OK. Doc wonders why he was out alone- Car speculates that F got lost just like he did. Doc understands how
Car could have gotten lost alone, but
why was F alone? Con leaves the den
to rest in her room for a while- R tells P that they still have no news. P knows Ed will not return without F- R
says that F has earned everyone’s love. P
wonders to herself why Con hates F more and more each day. Naz and Ed are still out looking for F-
Naz tells Ed that he reminds him so much of Don Alfonso. When things like this used to happen, the Duke was
always the first to offer help. Naz
convinces Ed to go back to the hacienda and wait until morning. R offers to help P to her room, but P
refuses because she won’t be able to sleep. She wants to be here when F walks in the door- R insists that she
should at least lie down like Con. She
knows no one in the house will be able to sleep. P agrees that she is sure
Con won’t be able to sleep either (She
says this while the camera shows Con in her bed, fast asleep!). Cata asks
Doc if she called the hacienda- he says the lines are still down. Doc is mad-
the Duke’s son should never have been
in a situation like this!! Cata says that his fever has gone down some- Doc is afraid that so many
hours under the rain may provoke
pneumonia. The next morning, Mar is at Chiri’s house-
Chiri asks Mar how things went with F. Mar
says that JS came to tell them that A didn’t give F permission to come
see them. Chiri says that he will talk
with A. Jac tells the kids to line up
to enter the school- Cas shows up late and butts into the front of the line. Don Nicanor gives N her certificate to export her pottery- she
earned it with her hard work. A tells Sol not to let Car in if he comes-
he stood her up last night and she is mad. Sol tells her that he might have gotten stuck in the storm and
reminds her how she and Adela came
home last night. A knows that, but she wants Sol to tell him that so he doesn’t
think that she is dying for him. A
also warns Sol not leave the house again- if she leaves, she should stay out there. A will deal with the
woman Sol loaned money to. A leaves- Sol
thinks that Car may be right about the tea. She feels better now that
she isn’t drinking it. P walks into
the dining room and asks Con if she slept well- Con says that she couldn’t sleep all night and she is exhausted. Con
says that it is not very amusing to have everyone looking at her, blaming her for what happened.
AT THIS POINT, MY LOCAL NEWS INTERRUPTED
WITH A NEWS BULLETIN FOR FIVE MINUTES.
I CAUGHT THE NOVELA AGAIN HERE:
(Apparently Doc has gone to the hacienda to talk to Ed). Doc tells Ed,
Con, and Naz that a friend of his
found F lying alone in the woods, hurt. Ed shoots Con a dirty look while Doc demands an explanation- what did you do
to the Duke’s son to make him want to
leave during such a terrible storm? Ed tells him that he will explain on
the way- he wants to go see F right
now. Con grabs Ed’s arm and says she will go with him- he shakes her off and tells her no. She will stay- he
will take Bern with him since she is the boy’s governess. P comes in and they fill her in. Naz, Ed, and Doc
leave. P asks Con why she is crying-
she tells P that Ed preferred Bern to go with him to care for F rather than
her. P reminds Con that Ed is very
upset with her right now. Con complains that things will never go back to the way they were.
Mar goes to get Chiri, but he is
gone. Chiri has gone to see A- Sol is
about to answer the door, but A sends her back to the kitchen. Chiri asks A how she knows F is the Duke’s son- she
tells him to ask the Duke’s relatives.
She knows nothing. He knows she does not do anything unless she will somehow benefit from it- she asks him what
kind of business she could do with that boy.
She starts to leave, but Chiri stops her. He insists that he wants to
talk to her- when she tells him that
they can’t talk outside, he asks to go inside her house. She laughs- you thought you could just go inside my house
to “see” it, then rob me? Chiri says that he will keep investigating, despite her insults. Ed and Bern walk in to see F- Ed begs Doc
to save him. Ed wants to take F back to the
hacienda- Doc doesn’t recommend it right now. Cata all of a sudden tells
Doc that F has stopped moving- Doc
says that his fever is rising again. Doc asks Ed and Bern to step outside- the fewer people in the room, the
better. D and her friend come to
visit Con- after some small talk about the storm, the friend (what’s her name?) asks about En. Con tells
her that he did not sleep here- he probably
got stuck in the storm. En
checks out of his room as Car is walking in. Car overhears En’s last name and
asks if he is related to the Duke’s
family. When En says yes, Car tells him about F. He asks how F got lost in the woods, but Car doesn’t
know anything else. En thanks him and Car
leaves. He thinks to himself: if F dies, I will be an heir to the Duke’s
fortune. If F lives, I will send Ed
and Con to Spain immediately. He wonders what N will think about all of this.
Ed tells Doc that this situation is difficult- he is not a father, so he
does not know how to deal with F. Doc
tells him that he has not had children either, but he knows that the first years of a child’s life are delicate- they
are so fragile, so you must treat them very
carefully. Even the smallest wound, physical or emotional, could scar
him for life. The kids are in the
lunchyard- they feel sorry for Cas. He has not spoken to anyone since the day of the party when his dad told
everyone that Cas wasn’t his son. Bl understands how he feels and decides to go talk to him. Ed understands what Doc is saying, but he
is engaged to be married and must return to
Spain- he will have to leave F here with Bern and En. Doc insists that F
is a very sensitive child- do you
still doubt that he is the Duke’s son?
Bl walks up to Cas- Cas says that he
doesn’t want to talk. Bl wants to be his friend- Cas doesn’t believe him and doesn’t want to be his friend anyway. Bl
tells him that he knows how he feels-
Cas doesn’t understand. The other day, Bl was happy telling everyone that his dad loved him and had sent him a
letter- but I don’t have a father. Cas starts to cry and Bl tells him not to cry- then, he thinks better of it and
tells Cas to cry all he wants so he
will feel better. Tears take away all of our sadnesses- Cas warns Bl not to
make fun of him because he will hit him.
Bl insists that his mom told him about the tears- he just wanted to tell Cas that his dad wasn’t
coming home like he had told everyone. His dad did not want to see them anymore- he starts to cry too. Ed asks Doc to understand his hesitation-
how many times have impostors come along,
pretending to be someone they’re not? Doc insists that F is a good kid
who lived happily with the people who
loved and cared for him- all he needs is the love he had with them that you aren’t giving him. Doc tells Ed
that F had gifts for his friends in his jacket- he was going to see his friends to show them his appreciation. He
did not care about the consequences of
his actions- don’t you see the lesson he is teaching us? What are you going to do if F is not the child you are
looking for? What are you going to tell him? Doc tells Ed to decide now- if he has any doubts, he should let F go
now. Cata and I would be happy to

starts to laugh- he is happy because
now they will know what he is suffering. Bl tells him that his attitude isn’t
very friend-like. He and Mari are very
unhappy, but they don’t want anyone to notice because then their mom
will get sad. They don’t want to see her cry anymore. Mel and L talk about how sad L is- L wants to write to Marcos
to get her marriage papers back. He took them so he could get a job faster. Mel agrees- what if she wants
to get remarried? L says she could never get remarried- Mel says that she
might feel differently in the future.
En walks in looking for N- they tell him that she left early in the morning and
hasn’t come back since. He leaves- Mel
and L agree that they don’t like him very much. They don’t understand how N can
accept his friendship. D and Nel come
to visit Con- they tell her that she is so lucky that she convinced Ed to go
back to Spain. Con agrees- they were
both desperate to leave. Nel tells Con that she is going to marry a “mangaso”
(slang for “very good-looking man”)- Con
has never heard of this word, so Nel has to explain it to her. She
thinks it is very possible that they will soon be sisters-in-law (because she might marry Enrique). O comes
in looking for P, but leaves after R tells him that she is in the study. Nel
asks how O’s relationship with P is
coming along- Con tells her that it is going nowhere. Neither one of them is at
an age to be getting into a relationship-they’d
look ridiculous.
R comes into the study with O- P runs up
to O and puts her arms around him. He asks her what’s wrong- she looks
worried while Con is laughing and
having a good time with her friends. P tells him that F ran away yesterday and
turned up today very sick at Doc’s
house. N walks into L’s cafe- she
shows Mel and L the check she got as part of her contract to sell her pottery
abroad. Mel asks if her pottery is the
only thing leaving the country- N says that only her goods will be leaving
right now. Mar walks in, overhears that N
needs a new place, and offers her his house- she thanks him, but turns
down the offer. N remembers when Ed kicked her out of her house- Mar tells N that he will help her find what she is
looking for. En walks into O’s
office- he tells Al that she is a “belleza sin par” (a beauty that no one else
can match). She smiles and asks him why
he is there- he tells her that he couldn’t sleep last night because of a
beautiful woman he was with last night. He had to stay at a hotel last night because the roads back to the hacienda
were in bad shape- fate led him back here. He says it was worth it to stay in town because the first
thing his eyes are seeing this morning is her beautiful face. She blushes and
he kisses her all over her face. Mel tells N that the Spaniard from the
hacienda came to see her- N assumes that it was Ed. Mar makes a nasty face
while L tells her that it was En who
came to see her. N asks what he wanted- L tells her that he only said to tell N
that he came. Mar gets upset and asks N
how she can accept En’s friendship- N tells Mar that En has been very good to
her. Mar thinks that he is planning something-
that man doesn’t do anything unless he will somehow benefit from it. N asks why
he talks about En that way- as Mar
starts to explain, Ch walks in behind Mar. Mar tells N that En took advantage
of his desperation to get money for
Ch’s operation and cheated him. Both N and L try to signal Mar to shut
up because Ch is behind him, but he keeps talking. Mar continues- that man humiliated me when I told him he was
taking advantage of me. Ch asks Mar who he is talking about- L tells him that it was En. L tells Ch that
Mar sold his boat to help pay for your operation- Ch thanks Mar. He shouldn’t have done it- Mar tells him that he
did not want Ch to find out. Ch assures him that he will get his boat back- Mar agrees because he is working
harder than ever. The kids run in and hug Ch- L tells Ch that he has to learn
to receive as well as give. It does not
matter where the money for his operation came from. Everyone sits down to
eat.
P tells O that it will pain her very
much to leave everyone here- O tells her that she can return whenever she wants
to. Or, if she wants, she doesn’t have
to leave here at all- she could stay here forever. P says no- Con is right. We
are too old to go around like two
lovebirds- O asks her if she thinks that love is only for the young. Suddenly
the phone rings- P is so happy that the
phones are finally working again. Ed tells P that F has a high fever and
he is not leaving until F gets better. He might catch pneumonia. P asks if they could bring F here- Ed assures P that
Cata is caring for him like his mother would. P calms down- Cata is a great person. She wonders why she
never had children. Ed asks P to tell O to come back to the hacienda tonight-
he needs to talk to O. P asks Ed to
call later with news- P tells O to come later. O wonders what is going on
now? En thinks to himself that Ed
does not know that N is the person who cared for F when he was shipwrecked. If
Ed knew, he might discover that F is an
impostor. F starts talking in his
sleep- Bern runs to get Doc. While she is out of the room, he says N’s name.
Doc, Bern, and Ed come back into the
room- Doc says that talking is a good sign, but his fever has gone up. Ed begs
Doc to do something to help F. Reme
thinks that someone should tell Ed why F ran away- A is such a horrible person.
R says that A walked into the hacienda with
her right foot- who is going to believe that she “accidentally” ran into Con at
the door of the hacienda? Reme says that A
may have entered with her right foot, but one of these days, I will kick
her out with my left foot! R laughs. A walks in and Reme tells her to go somewhere else to spread her
fleas- A tells her that she probably has fleas on her big head. Reme tells her
to leave because when Ed finds out how
she treated F, he will kick her out. A leaves. P asks O to stay for lunch- O says he can’t stay. P insists
because she is alone here with Con- O asks where En is. P tells him that he did not come home last night- O
laughs and says that when he left the office last night, En was keeping his
secretary company. Con walks in with a
sad look on her face- P tells her that Ed is going to stay with F all day. Con
thinks to herself that Ed has time for
F, but not for her. Con says that she is sorry, but P will have to eat alone
today. She leaves. Mar asks N to be
careful with En- he doesn’t trust him. N repeats that En has been very good to
her- he managed to get Ed to allow F to
go to the town festival so N could see him. She couldn’t possibly bad-mouth him
after what he did for her. Mar reminds
N that she has many people who want to help her- N tells him that En’s help is
different.
Doc gives F a shot- he will get better
now. En walks in and asks what happened to F. Ed tells him that F wanted to see
his friends, but Con was afraid to let
him go because the weather was getting pretty bad. En tells Ed (in front of Doc
and Cata) that Ed has never trusted F-
he must feel pretty bad thinking that you think he is an impostor. A asks Con about the money that Ed
promised her- Con says that she has it, but she can forget about the money. A can’t expect to get a reward for letting F escape
last night. Con says that A told F to go see his friends- A denies it. Con
prohibits her from leaving the hacienda
and walks off. A thinks to herself that Con doesn’t know who she is dealing
with- she could go tell her version of
the truth to Ed and mess all of Con’s plans up. Ch offers N her house- but N prefers to go somewhere else to
work for now. She will save up some money and buy some land. Ch leaves with the kids to go work. P calls Con’s mom and tells her what
happened to F- she doesn’t understand what is going on. She sent P to watch
Con, but she is still being the same
brat she always is. P says that she is very spoiled- if Con doesn’t listen to
you, she will listen to me even less.
Regina (Con’s mom) threatens to go to Mexico if the wedding doesn’t happen
soon. The kids ride with Ch in his
cart. R tells Reme that Ed called and
F is very sick. Fab wishes F had told him he was leaving- he would have gladly
taken F in the van. Reme says that kids
don’t see the consequences of their actions- look at what JS did, too. Reme
blames Bern- she was probably doing
nothing instead of watching F. Fab says that it is not Bern’s fault- how could
she imagine that F would climb out the
window to see his friends? Fab asks where Bern is- Reme tells him that she went
to Doc’s house, then asks him why he
cares where she is. He changes the subject and asks R if F really acts
like his dad. R says that he doesn’t look like him very much, but he has certain behaviors that only
his mother could have taught him. J
comes to visit Cas- Cas tries to push J out before his dad wakes up, but it is
too late. She asks to speak to Ped.
Doc says that F is better, but they have to wait 24 hours to see how he
is. Con comes in, so En goes home to shower. Con asks how F is- then, she tells Doc that F could not be in better
hands and asks him to save F. Ed wonders what she is doing. J asks Cas to leave so she can talk to
Ped- he walks out the door. While Cas listens outside the door, J tells Ped
that she has wanted to talk to him for
a while because Cas has always given her problems- Ped suggests that she kick
him out of the school so he doesn’t
bother her anymore. J tells him that kicking him out is not a solution- she did
not have to look very far to find out
why Cas is acting up. He is confused, so she explains that Cas is a rebellious
child because he thinks no one loves
him- Ped proved her theory when he told Cas in front of everyone at L’s
cafe that he was not Cas’ father. He tells J that he only told the truth- Cas was his late wife’s son.
When she died, he became a burden for me- it is hard enough to get along in
this life without having to care for a
child that is not even yours. She assures him that she will help Cas- she has
never met anyone as heartless as he
is. B asks Ch if they could go to the
hacienda- maybe they could see F. Con
and Bern are alone in the room with F- Con asks Bern to leave her alone with F,
but Bern refuses. Ed told her to stay with
F at all times and that is what she is going to do. Con gets mad, but
Bern insists that she will not go against Ed’s orders. Con asks Bern if Ed asked her anything about F
running away- Bern tells her that she told him the truth and only the
truth. Ed tells Doc that after
talking to him so much about F, he has made a decision, but he needs O’s help.
Doc asks what he has decided, but Ed
says that he will tell him when the time comes. It will be a life-changing
decision, though- especially for Con.
Car comes to A’s house- Sol tells him that A isn’t home and that A was
waiting for him all night last night. He says that he couldn’t come because of the storm- but he wanted to come today
to tell Sol that she shouldn’t drink the tea anymore. It is an herb that takes away her will and dopes her
up. If she keeps drinking it, she runs the risk of going crazy- he also warns
Sol not to tell A. Sol asks him if she
thinks that A is a bad person- he is not sure, but no one in town likes her.
Sol insists that A has been very good
to her- she has cared for her and hidden her from the police. Car doesn’t think
that Sol has committed a crime- he is
going to keep investigating this. Sol insists that she feels ill- A gave her
the tea to make her feel better. Car tells
her that she feels sick because of the tea- A is making Sol think that
she is crazy by giving her that tea. They will go see a doctor friend of his soon to see what is wrong with her. Con asks Cata where Ed is- she tells Con
that both Ed and Doc left. Con gets mad- she came here to keep Ed company
and he left without telling her. Cata
thought Con was there because she was worried about F- Con agrees, but she also
wanted to spend time with Ed. She is
his fiancee, after all. Con feels that lately it seems like he is avoiding her-
Cata asks her if he has a reason to.
Con says no, of course.
J doesn’t want to leave without making
Ped see that he is being unfair- he thinks
everyone is being unfair with him. J tells him that everyone gets what
they deserve-he tells her that Cas is getting what he deserves because he is a good-for-nothing, rebellious child. J
tells him that parents like him cause kids to grow up full of hate and bitterness- Ped repeats that he is not
Cas’ father. Let his real father take care of him- J asks him if he knows if
Cas’ father lives. Ped does not know-
when he married Cas’ mother, he was already gone. J doesn’t understand how it
could mean nothing to him that Cas is
the son of the woman he loved- he says he cared while she lived, but now he
only reminds him of her every waking
moment. He yells that he does not want to see Cas anymore- J walks towards the
door. She turns around and tells Ped
that she hopes that this decision does not come back to haunt him- a child is
the most valuable thing in this world. J
goes outside- Cas is sitting at the curb, crying. She asks if he heard
what she said to Ped- he says that he said the same things to her that he had
said before at the festival. J tells him that everyone loves him- although
he always rejects her, he can count on

understand her change of attitude. He asks Bern how F has been- she says
that his fever has gone down, but he
has not woken up yet. Con whispers to Ed that she has to talk to him- they walk to the other end of the
room. She apologizes for everything that has
happened- she did it to look good in front of him, but lately everything
she does comes out all wrong. She
doesn’t know what Bern told him- he tells her that she only said that he was very sad after Con didn’t give him
permission to leave. Con tries to explain, but Ed tells her to forget about it- he begs her to think twice
before doing anything in the future.
Con agrees, but asks for a favor in exchange- please go home and rest. I will
stay with F all night. The kids are restless- Mel tells them to
do their homework. N comes in and tells them
that things are better for her now- she needs to look for a place to
work on her pottery. L reminds her
that she is welcome to work here- N thanks her, but she wants a place by
the sea. The kids offer to help her
look for a place. Mari tells N that they went to the hacienda to see F, but he wasn’t there- he had a cold, so they
took him to Doc’s house. N thinks this
is very odd- F is a very healthy kid. She will stop by Doc’s house later to
see how he is.
F wakes up- Bern asks him how he is
feeling. He says he feels better, so Bern goes to get Ed- Con is asleep on a couch in the room. When Ed walks in, Con
jumps off the couch and stands next to
the bed. Ed is happy that he is awake- this means he is feeling better. He leaves to get Doc and Con stays- F asks
Bern to stay because he does not want Con
there. Bern promises to stay.
Ch tells Mar that things will look better soon. Ch thanks Mar for
everything he has done for him- he can
only repay what Mar has done with love and affection. Mar says that he does not need any more than that- Ch has
been the friend and father he never had. Mar
understands what F is going through- he became an orphan at around the
same age as F, but they were both
lucky enough to find Ch. Ch tells Mar what En told him about F- Ch thinks this story is odd too. Mar says he
will go to Doc’s house tomorrow to see how F is. O and P sit in the living room, silent- they ran out of things
to say. Just then, Ed walks in- he
tells them that F is doing better. En walks in and asks about F- Ed tells him
that he is happy En is here because he
has some important news he wants to share.
L asks N to explain exactly what Mr. Richardson offered her- N tells
them that he loved their pottery, so
he wants to open a shop to sell the wares abroad. He wants N to be in charge of that shop- he offers her a house,
a good salary, and a commission for each order that comes in. L asks if N is seriously considering the offer- N
says yes. Mel thinks to herself that N
wants to rebuild her life far away from all of them. Mar wonders to himself why N was so quiet after she talked to
the American- maybe she is hiding
something from me. Car comes to see
A- he apologizes for coming late. His father died and he had to stay a while to take care of some things. He brings
them some gifts from his town- one for A
and one for Sol. Sol walks in and accepts her gift. As she opens the
box, she remembers the Duke telling
her that he loved her- she runs off to her room scared.
Cata comes into F’s room and tells Bern
to eat something- she and Doc will stay with F. Doc says F is doing much better- the bump on his head doesn’t
seem to be a problem. F tells Doc that
he remembers walking around in the forest- the next thing he remembers is someone carrying him. Doc tells him that
Car, the son of one of his friends, brought him here. F asks Doc and Cata for a favor- don’t leave me alone with
Con. I don’t want to be alone with
her. En asks Ed if the big decision
he is going to tell them is that he is going back to Spain to marry Con- Ed says that they will return to
Spain, but that is not the reason why he called them here. Ed tells O to prepare everything to name F the heir
of the Duke’s fortune- En smiles to
himself at the news, but stands up and gets mad at Ed for making that
decision alone. Ed reminds En that he
is the executor of the will- En reminds Ed that the power of attorney that gives Ed that power is
nowhere to be found, so En can contest the will. Ed advises him not to contest the will- En says that Ed will be the
only one responsible for his decision.
O asks Ed if he’s sure- Ed says that F
will return to the hacienda as the son
of the Duke. N tells Mel and L
to cheer up- it seems like she gave them bad news. L tells her that it is bad news to them and the kids if she leaves-
N reminds them that she hasn’t accepted yet,
and that it would only be for a short while anyway. Mel thinks that with
all of the things that have happened
to her lately, N might be thinking of leaving to forget everything. L says that she won’t be leaving for a short
time, either- look at what Macros did and he
was only going to be gone for a short time. Mel asks N what will happen
to everyone here who loves her- N
tells them that Ch has them, Mar will find a woman who loves him, and F will forget us and be happy with his
family as time passes. Sol walks back
in the room- A asks her what Car gave her that made her run off like that. Sol apologizes, saying that she suddenly
heard a voice- A mocks her, saying that there
was no one else here. A tells her to drink her tea and go to sleep- she
also tells Sol that she is going to
sleep in tomorrow, so she shouldn’t wake her up early. Sol leaves and A thinks to herself that Car gave Sol gold,
while she only got silver. En argues
with Ed- he has to show proof that F is the Duke’s son. O agrees with En-
the only proof they have right now is
that F COULD be the Duke’s son. Ed says that O can start the paperwork with that information- O agrees and leaves.
En asks Ed if Con knows about this
already- Ed says that she has been with F, so he hasn’t had a chance to tell
her, but she shouldn’t be interfering
in this decision anyway. The decision is his to make. A is calculating her money and trying to figure out how to get
the Spaniards to pay. She wonders who
Sol is- she might really be a criminal. Maybe she should check her out to see who Sol really is.
Cata and Con talk about F- Cata is
surprised at how quickly Bern and F have bonded. She does not leave his side- Con says that it is no wonder that they
get along since they are similar
people. Car comes to see how F is-
Doc tells him that his fever is gone and there seem to be no consequences to the bump on his head.
Still, they will take him to the hospital tomorrow to get some X-rays just to be sure. Car is glad- he changes the
subject and asks Doc if he remembers
the woman he told him about. Doc asks what is wrong with her- Car says
that she doesn’t remember anything, as
if she had amnesia. Doc would be glad to help her. Mar and his friends are out fishing- Mar can’t believe that he
wanted to leave fishing. He tells his
friends that he was born at the lagoon- his mom went with his dad to fish
when she was pregnant, and one day he
surprised them all. He was born here, and he will die here- but of course, he will get himself a good woman first. His
friend asks who the woman will be- Mar
laughs and says that N is the only woman for him. N makes a pot while Mari watches- Mari asks if one day N will
teach her how to make a pot or vase. N
says that she will teach her one day0- she just has to put her heart into
it and her work will turn out
good. Ch decides to go out with
Chacho to work- they have been inside too long. P is happy that F is feeling better. Cata assures her that none
of Doc’s fears came true- F is fine
and will go home today. Cata asks P to take good care of him- she will miss
him very much. P tells her not to
worry- everyone will care for him. Cata says that Bern is wonderful- she has not left his side once.
P asks about Con- Cata says that Con cared for him as well. Bern
walks in with F’s breakfast tray- Con is asleep on the couch. F does not feel
like eating. Con wakes up when F and
Bern are talking- Cata walks in and asks Con if she had a good night. Con says that she is sore,
but no sacrifice is too great to care for F. Con leaves to call the hacienda- she wants to know when they are
coming to pick them up. Bern insists
with the food, but F refuses. F doesn’t want to return to the hacienda- he wants to be with his friends. He begs them
not to take him back to the hacienda.
En and Nel go visit D- D says that Con never told them that F was sick
when they saw her yesterday. Nel
understands now why P never came out to say hi yesterday and why R and Reme were very nervous. D asks for Ed- En
tells him that he went to get Con and F
from Doc’s house. D can’t believe that F left during a storm- her
husband reminds her that all kids are
like that. D says that F is special- the other day when he came over, all
of the kids ended up in the pool. They
laugh and D’s husband says that every child has fallen in a pool at least once. En agrees- pools seem to attract
kids.
D’s husband asks if F is going to Spain with Ed and Con- En says
that F is staying here with him. He was going
to go back to Spain- but every day, he finds this country more
fascinating (he says this last part
while staring at Nel). He might even live here permanently. D’s kids come
in- they ask if F came. D says that he
couldn’t come because he was sick- they ask to go visit him. Their dad says that it is not a good
idea to go today, but they will visit him in a few days. The kids leave- Nel compliments D on the good-manners her
kids have. When Nel has her own kids,
D will have to give her some pointers.
P and Reme are in the chapel- Reme tells P that R fixed up F’s room.
When Reme is done sweeping the chapel,
she will go put some flowers in F’s room to cheer him up. P tells her that flowers are not good for
sick people- Reme says that she will put them in there so F can see them, then she’ll take them out of there very
quickly. P asks Reme if she cares
about F- Reme says she has cared about him since he came from the sea. R comes in- she says that the chapel looks
very sad. She asks P if she wants them to put
some flowers in here- when N was here, she made sure there were always
flowers in the chapel. P says that
they really need N back here to make the chapel look good again- too bad she can’t ask Ed to let her come back
here. R tells her that N wouldn’t accept
anyway- N will never set another foot in this house. Ed carries F out of the room- F tells him
treat he doesn’t want to go back to the hacienda. Ed asks him why- everyone there loves him. F says no- Ed says
that they will all care for him until
he gets better. Bl and B come to get
Mari to go to work with Ch- N says that she is done with the vase, so she can go with them if she wants. The
kids leave- N thinks that she has to go see Doc. He never got sick here, but even with all of those luxuries at
the hacienda, he still got sick. Mel
walks in- she asks N if she has decided anything about what Mr. Richardson offered her. N isn’t sure, but she thinks
it might be a good thing for her- Mel says that if she is thinking about it this much, it means that she doesn’t
hate the idea. This way, she could get
away from the Spaniard- N says that she wants to go away so that she
doesn’t have to see Ed. Ed puts F down on his bed- Con assures F
that he will feel much better here. She is going to change, but she will be back to keep him company. Ed tells F
that all of the women in this house
want to please him- he should be happy. He tells F that he will be in the
study if he needs him. P asks F if he
feels better and if he wants anything, but he doesn’t answer- she asks if he is mad at her, but he still does not
answer. She tells F that she loves him
very much and was so worried about him when they did not know anything about where he was- she tells him that she
prayed for him to come home safe, but he still does not answer. She leaves the room very sad- she comes back in
with Ed, who asks F what is wrong. He
says that P is very worried because F won’t talk to her- he asks F if he wants them to leave him alone. F nods his
head yes- Ed asks him if he can trust him, and F nods yes again. Bern gives him a pill so he can sleep for a
while- P and Ed leave. Mar visits N-
he compliments her on her vases. He starts asking her questions about her oven, but ? walks in and sees N. They hug
while Mar looks on confused. P is
worried about F- she tried to lift his spirits and show him she cared, but all
he did was cry. Con says that he will
soon feel better- he is a very smart child. He tries to get everyone’s attention so he can get what he
wants. P doesn’t think so- F is not a kid who
tries to take advantage of others. Con says that she had a horrible
night because of F, and she does not
plan on doing it again- P tells her not to worry because F and Bern seem
to get along well. P tells Con that
her mom called this morning to warn them that she will come to Mexico if the wedding doesn’t
happen soon.
The kids and Ch walk up to the front
door of the hacienda- Ped stops them and asks them what they want. They want to see F- Ped doesn’t know who he is.
B insists on going inside, but Ped
won’t let them in to see him. B starts yelling F’s name- Ch tells her not
to yell. Ed hears B’s yelling and
comes out- he asks them what they want. They tell him they want to see F, but Pedro won’t let them in. Ed tells Pedro
that F’s friends are always welcome.
He tells the kids and Ch that F is sleeping right now, but they can come
back later to see him. Ed asks Ch to
come with him for a second- he wants to talk to him. Car comes to see Sol- he tells her that he left very worried
yesterday because he did not know what
happened to her. He never imagined that his gift would provoke such an odd reaction. Sol tells him not to worry-
sometimes certain objects bring up certain thoughts that scare her and make her nervous. She apologizes- Car tells
her that he spoke with his doctor
friend and he wants to help her. Sol tells him that A will not let her out- she
got very mad the other day when Sol
left. Sol is scared too- the police is looking for her. Car says that he will investigate that too. Sol
asks him why he is helping her- this could bring him trouble. HE tells her not to worry about him getting in
trouble- he sees her so alone at this
moment, and he is sure that she has a family that is worried about her. Ch tells the kids to get in the cart- he
will tell them what he spoke about with Ed on the way home. Con gets
mad- why does her mother keep treating her like she is still a child that needs
to be supervised! P reminds her that
she knows how her mother is- she should call her. Con is definitely going to call her and tell her not to come. P says
that her mother is partially right-
Con and Ed have no reason to be here anymore, yet their wedding is still postponed. Con already knows that, but she
will fix her own problems- her mother has no
reason to interfere. Con picks up the phone, but the line is down- she
gets mad, but P thinks it is for the
best. Con shouldn’t be talking to her mother right now- she should call her tomorrow when she is calmer. Car wants to show Sol some pictures he
took of the town festival- there was a group of kids that served as models for his pictures, especially a very
cute and nice little boy. Sol
remembers that a very cute boy came to see A one day- maybe he is part
of that group of kids. Car starts to
take out the pictures to show them to her.

gets jealous when he sees her with Mar- he says that betrayal is the only thing he could never forgive. He
asks N if she wants to get married on the beach or in the chapel- she prefers the chapel. They kiss just as Con
walks into the chapel- she gets mad and
drops one of N’s vases on the floor. She runs away, so N and Ed do not understand how it fell on the floor. Reg talks to En- he fills her in on Con’s
accident and how Ed was not there with her
when it happened. Con walks in, so Reg asks her if this story is true.
Con denies it and says that you cannot
believe everything he says. Reg cannot believe it and storms off. Con gets upset that En threatened A without
telling her. En tells Con that they have to be
very careful with A because she is very dangerous- burning someone’s
house down is no big deal to A. Con
says that someone like A is the perfect ally for what Con needs to do. Ch compliments L on her new look- then, he
asks if she has heard from Marcos. She has
not received the divorce papers yet. Bl walks in and asks L if she is
sad because JM is gone. Bl does not
want JM to be her friend- L assures her kids that they are the most important thing to her. Con and A tell N the story about how F ended
up at the hacienda. Con says that N found
F at the port- after Con leaves, N tells A that she knows perfectly well

port. F walks in and N tells him to clear up the confusion with A. The police arrest Mar for kidnapping Cas. Cas
runs off and tells Ch that the police took
Mar away. Ed talks to his mom
and tells her he is in love. Con has already accepted that he does not love her anymore. Cas and Ch try to explain to the police that Mar is only taking
care of Cas because Ped does not love
him. Mar did not kidnap him. Cas gets mad and runs out of the station.

What happened today: Ch and Cas go to the prison and try to
convince the police that Mar did not kidnap Cas. J comes to visit Mar a few times, bringing him food and keeping him
company. She also tells the police that
Ped mistreats Cas and Mar is the best person to care for him. The police decide to have Cas stay at the church
temporarily. Cas does not like this idea very
much. Ch goes to O to get some legal help for Mar. O tries to convince
the police that Ped has a history of
violence against Cas. Ped shows up at the station. A tells N that F told her that N found him at the port, not on
the beach by her house. F says that A
is lying and N wonders why A would lie about something like that. She asks R how F ended up at the hacienda to clear up
her doubts. Sol leaves A’s house and
tries to get to Puerto Real (the town she remembered). She has no money to get there, so she goes back to
A’s house to get money. She asks A for
money, but A doesn’t want to give it to her. Sol decides to make cookies
and sell them at the school to make
some money. Ed promises to build N a
house and a workplace on the beach. He asks her if she would go with him to Spain- she says she will go
with him to the ends of the earth. P
and Cata decide to go to the capital to get her wedding dress. The kids plan J’s surprise party. Bl wakes up in the middle of the night and
overhears L and Mel talking about JM.
During breakfast, Ed asks N to sit next to him in Con’s old seat. Con is
fake-nice to N the whole time. Ed asks
Con to call P- Con thinks it is a great idea, but Reg is still mad at P. En asks when Con and Reg will return to
Spain- Reg says that they are waiting until P
gets married. Cas goes back to
school sad- the kids ask him what’s wrong, so he has to tell them what happened to Mar. Ed asks F if the money he asked for had been for N- F looks
upset, so Ed tells him not to worry. If
F promised not to tell, then he should keep his secret. F tells Bern that his mom used to make the
best cookies in the world- she taught him how
to make them a few months ago. Bern says that they will ask R if they
can borrow her kitchen so he can make
those cookies.

y Bernadette intenta consolarla diciéndole que tal se debió a una emergencia.
Constanza se enoja porque Felipín invita a sus amigos a comer a la hacienda y
entran hasta la cocina.Carlos ve la manera en que Constanza trata a los amigos
de Felipín y se disgusta. Enrique dice a Carlos que los amigos de Felipín son
bien recibidos en su casa. Carlos sospecha que algo trama.Constanza se indigna
porque Bernadette está entusiasmada con Martín. Sin embargo, reconoce que el

Lena se sorprende al descubrir que Carlos tiene mucho dinero.

aparecen.Nazario recoge en el aeropuerto a Bernardette y Nisa, quien le dice
que lo primero que quiere hacer es ver a Felipín.Los niños encuentra a Fabián.
Felipín va por ayuda para el joven, pero se pierde en el camino.Nisa reclama a
Constanza que haya dejado a los niños con Alberta. Constanza contesta que

Alberta que haya secuestrado a la duquesa de Oriol. Jura que la meterá a la
cárcel.Chirimbolo le cuenta la verdad a Eduardo, le dice que Nisa es inocente y
fue engañada por Constanza, quien planeó todo.Eduardo entrega a Magdalena las
cartas que dejó Alfonso. Ella llora al ver la foto de su hijo al cree que murió
ahogado el día del naufragio.Eduardo pide a la policía que detenga a Alberta.

SEMANA. 7/31/00. Soledad visits El Duque’s room. Eduardo gives her his
letters. She tells Eduardo and his mother that her son fell into the sea and
died. Alina gives Lic. an envelope. Carlos returns and looks for a house.
Enrique tells Constanza to think of something. Pedro comes to the house and
tells Enrique something. Sol reads Alfonso’s letter. Enrique realizes that
Felepin is the real heir. Enrique decides he will marry Sol. Chiri and Nisa ask
Rosauro about Felipin. Martín kisses Jacinta in front of the children. Carlos
visits Eduardo. Chiri and Nisa confront Alberta about Felipin’s false papers.
Raiza begins to tell Sol about the young boy who came to the house but doesn’t
mention his name. ? asks ? to dine. Alberta finds her tesoro gone. Enrique
visits Nisa and Felipin, offers to take them some place where they will be safe
until Eduardo goes to Spain. Felipin leaves a note in the Esperanza for his
friends. He doesn’t trust Enrique but Nisa does. Eduardo mentions the name of
the boy in front of Soledad, Carlos, etc. and she reacts. Then he shows her the
picture and she recognizes her son. They go looking for him and Nisa. Enrique
takes Nisa and Felipin to a boat. He lets Nisa
call the house. She gets Remedios but Costanza takes the phone away,
says that Eduardo is looking for them (but not why) and hangs up. The lic tells
Alina that the signature on his check was forged and she confesses that it was
Enrique. He fires her.
8/1/00. Enrique locks
Nisa and Felipin in a cabin on the ship; Costanza arrives and they confess that
Eduardo doesn’t plan to take Felipin away. Costanza’s mother calls her; her
father has died. She blames Nisa. Pilar gives Eduardo the letter Felipin wrote
confessing the lies he told and why. Juan Manuel asks Lala’s son for permission
to court his mother and the boy agrees. Alberta is jailed.
8/2/00. Oscar
accuses Enrique of forging the check, of lying. Eduardo believes Oscar and
tells him to report the forgery to the police. Everybody looks for Nisa and
Felipin. Costanza and Enrique visit them and taunt them: they will be going to
Africa. The children find the note in the Esperanza and understand what it
means. Martín and Chiri and the children, with the help of the sailor who was
feeding Nisa and Felipin and came to like the boy, find and rescue them. The
padre finds a treasure in the locked box. Remedios tells Enrique that Nisa and
the boy have been found. He and Costanza prepare to run away. Felipin and Sol
reunite. Enrique asks Alina to help him and Costanza and she pretends to but,
instead, calls Eduardo. Martín and ? are attacked by Casimiro’s father and his
men but the police arrive and arrest him for child abuse. Eduardo imprisons
Enrique and Costanza in the same cabin in the boat and she confesses everything
she did.
8/3/00. GRAN
FINAL. Carlos tells Sol that he will be staying. She tells him how much she
loved el Duque and that she will pay for Alberta’s defense because, after all,
she did give her a roof when she needed one!. He will wait. Eduardo gets Nisa’s
forgiveness. Pilar and Sofia think Enrique and Costanza left for Spain without
telling anybody: how typical of them! Felipin goes to school. Alberta is in
jail for the murder of ? years before. She explains to Carlos and the police
how he died of happiness when she agreed to be his. Augusto and Catalina want
to adopt Casimiro. Lala and Juan Manuel talk about the future with ? and ?. The
police tell Alberta the good and bad news: she has been cleared of the past
crime but Eduardo has denounced her, Costanza and Enrique for the burning of
Nisa’s home. They will all spend many years in jail. Bernadette asks Jacinta if
she has a chance with Martín; Jacinta says she doesn’t know. Later, Bernadette
asks Martín, in front of Jacinta, to choose between them. He chooses Jacinta
and Bernadette wishes them well. At the wedding, Casimiro tells Agustin and
Catalina that he wants to be their son. Remedios gets Javier to propose to her.
El Lic. gives Alina, who hasn’t gotten another job, another chance. Eduardo and
Nisa are married. Carlos and Sol wish them good luck and Carlos hopes one day
to be in the same position. Felipin winks. FIN.
