marido es prepotente y dominante con ellas. Gabriela conoce a Antonio Ríos, un
guapo e inteligente muchacho que trabaja en un taller automotriz como mecánico.
Entre ellos surge una atracción que pronto se convertirá en amor.Sandra es
amiga de Gabriela y sobrina de Octavio Rangel, propietario de una importante
fábrica de muebles finos.Sandra es voluntariosa y frívola, aunque ante su tío y
el resto de la gente simula ser gentil y cariñosa. Descubrimos que Adelina, la
"fiel" nana, junto con Sandra pretenden apoderarse de la herencia de
Octavio, a quien no la une ningún lazo de sangre.Fabián San Miguel, guapo y
elegante propietario de mueblerías, pretende a Gabriela, pero ella le rehúye ya

Cauduro quien intérpreta Gabriela, una mujer atrapada por las fallas de sus padres. Definitivamente,
quien robó cámara en esta historia fue Yadhira Carrillo como la ponzoñosa, pero
bien vestida Sandra.
Sinopsis
Gabriela Galván
es una hermosa diseñadora industrial, cuya vida está sujeta a las
arbitrariedades de Rodolfo, su padre, a quien soporta sólo
por no hacer sufrir a su madre, la tímida y sufrida Ana Luisa. Gabriela conoce
y se enamora de un humilde mecánico llamado Antonio, pero su padre quiere que
ella se casa con Fabián quien ha prometido ayudar económicamente en los negocios a Rodolfo. Sandra es la mejor
amiga de Gabriela.
Bajo un exterior
y gentil y cariñoso, Sandra oculta una
ambiciosa y malévola mujer cuyo único interés es apoderarse de la fortuna de Octavio Rángel, su supuesto tío. Los
planes de Sandra peligran cuando Antonio salva la vida de Don Octavio y el
millonario comienza a ampararlo. Por mientras, Gabriela entra a trabajar a la fábrica de muebles de
Octavio. Ella ignora que su patrón y Ana Luisa fueron novios en su juventud, y
que Rodolfo siempre ha creído que su mujer sigue amando a Octavio.

El Universal, 9/3/00: Antonio lleva a Mary a la rueda de la
fortuna. Rodolfo coquetea con Lolita. Antonio lamenta no poder mantener solo la
casa y que Valeria se dedique a cuidar a la pequeña Mary. Octavio invita a
Rodolfo y a su familia a la fiesta de aniversario de la fábrica en la que
trabajan. Silverio se desespera porque no mejora de salud. A Antonio se le mete
en la cabeza irse a trabajar a EU. Sandra le da una sorpresa a su tío Antonio.
Rodolfo se molesta porque Gabriela y Analuisa no lo esperaron a cenar. Sandra
conoce a Antonio. Rodolfo abofetea a Gabriela.
Diario de Yucatan, 9/3/00:
Antonio (Eduardo Santamarina) lleva a Mary (Mariana Botas) a la rueda
de la fortuna. Rodolfo (RobertoBallesteros) coquetea con Lolita (Lourdes
Dechamps). Antonio lamenta que no pueda mantener solo la casa y que Valeria
(GalileaMontijo) tenga que trabajar y no cuide a la pequeña Mary.Octavio
(Manuel Ojeda) invita a Rodolfo y a su familia a la fiesta de aniversario de la

FIRST WEEK. USA 6/25-29/01. Antonio,
a car mechanic, works with Carmeno for Don Trin. This night Antonio is taking a
bunch of children to a fair. He and his sisters Valeria and Mary (Chapera) are
orphans. Octavio, Sandra’s uncle, invites Rodolfo to a party celebrating 30
years in business. Rodolfo is an abusive husband to Ana Luisa (who was pregnant
when they married), the lover of his secretary, and harsh father to Gabriela.
She wants to work but he doesn’t want her to. Ana Luisa and Octavio were once
in love and neither has forgotten the other. Octavio never married. Sandra
angers Octavio when she shows him the new car she bought, but he gives in. They
live with Isabel, the widow of Evaristo (the man who gave Octavio his chance in
life) and her asthmatic son Silverio. The housekeeper is Adelina, the lover of
? and accomplice of Sandra. Rodolfo is very much in debt; he owes money to
Fabian Montero, who likes Gabriela, and Octavio. At the fair, Antonio runs into
trouble when two of the little girls need to go to the bathroom; a woman,
Gabriela, walking buy helps him out. Later, or before, Sandra almost runs over
Mary in her new car and Antonio yells at her. Gabriela gets a job and with her
pay advance buys her mother a dress for the celebration. She asks her mother
why she married her father but gets no answer. Sandra and Fabian take the car
out for a spin and it runs out of gas or something by the shop where Antonio
works. Sandra, playing the important rich person, demands service immediately.
When Antonio recognizes her, they start to argue and Fabian draws a gun on
Antonio. One of the mecanics grabs him and Antonio disarms him. Trini arrives
and Fabian says that Antonio attacked him. Trini insists that Antonio work on
the car. Rodolfo and his family arrive at the celebration. While Ana Luisa
dances with Octavio, Gabriela tells her father about her job and he tells her
to quit. Ana Luisa asks Octavio to give her daughter a job in his factory.
Mireya?, Ana Luisa’s niece, greets her. Trini visits the beauty salon where
Valeria works for Doña ? and goes into the private part of the salon, where
they kiss. Doña Liche accuses Valeria of sleeping with everybody. Gabriela
rejects Fabian’s request for a date. Antonio delivers the car to the
celebration and Sandra is rude. He gives his bill to Octavio. As he is leaving,
he bumps into Gabriela and they introduce themselves. Then a truck slips its
breaks and starts to move toward her mother and other women. Antonio jumps into
the truck and stops him. Octavio thanks him and offers him money which he turns
down. Sandra apologizes for her behavior. Meanwhile, Rodolfo and his secretary
? Perez have grabbed a kiss behind another truck. Octavio tells Rodolfo he
would like Gabriela to work for him in such a way that Rodolfo can’t turn him
down. Rodolfo and his wife leave; he insists that Gabriela stay with Fabian.
Instead of driving her home, he takes her to a hotel that has a bar. She tells
him she is no fool and demands that he take her home; he grabs her and kisses
her. She slaps him and gets out of the car. Columba eats with Antonio’s family;
it is obvious that she loves him. Rodolfo is jealous of Octavio. Fabiano meets
Sandra. Rodolfo’s wife almost walks in on him and his lover in the office and
Rodolfo ends up having to give his wife the bracelet he bought for his lover.
Carmelo tells Antonio he should ask Trini to pay him for the accounting he
does; he asks, but Trini refuses because business is bad. It turns out that
Fabian smuggles diamonds. The neighborhood gossip calls Valeria names after
seeing her husband don Jorge talking to her. Antonio breaks up the fight and
cautions Valeria to behave more discreetly. Sandra introduces Gabriela to the
other designers, Berto and Pepe. Antonio suggests to Trini some promotions but
he refuses. Octavio visits Ana Luisa and declares his continuing love for her,
but she reminds him that she is married. On leaving work, Gabriela is attacked
by two men (hired by Fabian) but saved by Carmelo and Antonio. Adelina
confesses her love to Octavio but he rejects her. It turns out that Adelina is
the real mother of Sandra; she is not Octavio’s niece. Adelina hits her after
she calls her madre in front of another servant who has just found an old music
box that Adelina gave her. Renato has a fender bender with the car owned by
Diana and is immediately attracted to her. Octavio is impressed by Gabriela’s
designs and her father is surprised to know that the new designs are hers. Sandra
manages to erase all her work from the computer. On leaving work, Antonio
surprises Gabriela and offers to take her home but her father arrives and tells
him to stay away from his daughter. Octavio visits the neighborhood where
Antonio’s shop is, sees him, talks to him, has a heart attack. Antonio takes
him to the hospital. Sandra remembers when her mother told her that she would
no longer be Sofia Morales but Sandra, sobrina de Octavio. She cries when she
is alone. Antonio stays with Octavio at the hospital. Fabian orders Juan to
investigate Antonio. He meets Mary outside the shop and questions her until
Antonio appears. Sandra hires a hunk for the gym. Octavio’s doctor, Diego, says he will be fine. Sandra and her
mother are sorry he isn’t dead. Adelina tells Rodolfo that Octavio asked to see
Ana Luisa and she was anxious to see him. Antonio arrives home and finds
Valeria and Trini having sex.

USA 7/2-6/01. Antonio finds Valeria
and Tini having sex and beats him up. He and Valeria argue; she admits she did
it for money. He hits her. She decides to leave but Mary hears them arguing and
brings them back together. Doña Liche arrives, tells Antonio he is behind in
rent payments and Doña Raquela wants it or will evict them. He asks Valeria
what she did with the rent money; she says there were other expenses. Gabriela
visits Octavio in the hospital and he tells her about his relationship with her
mother: how he loved her but she chose Rodolfo. Gabriela promisees not to tell
her mother she knows. Sandra walks in and is obviously jealous of Octavio’s obvious
feelings for Gabriela but pretends to be the sweet niece and approves of
Gabriela’s designs. On the street, Antonio runs into Cachita and tells her he
no longer works for Trini. Juan finds out that Mary is Antonio’s sister and
where they live. Gabriela visits Antonio to apologize for her father’s
behavior; Mary tells her the woman in the picture is their sister not Antonio’s
fiancée. After Antonio, Mary and Valeria leave the apartment, Juan enters.
Valeria returns and finds him there, with a mask over his face. He leaves after
stealing over the money. Antonio tries to find him but can’t. Doña Liche thinks
they are lying about the robbery. Adelina discovers that Octavio has cancer;
the doctor tells Isabel. Sandra and Adelina are happy. Octavio doesn’t know
but, to the dismay of Hector and Sandra, names Silverio general manager. He
takes checks and papers home and Adelina, as part of her plan with Sandra to
prove him incompetent, steals one. Gabriela runs into the children in the park,
helps them with a problem and takes Mary home. After she leaves, Antonio kisses
her goodbye but then ? appears and gives him a big kiss. Antonio gets a new
job, not knowing that he is working with crooks. They have him fix a car
stalled on the road and while he is inside the shop, they steal the rear
lights. The owner of the car accuses Antonio, flags down the police and has him
arrested. 7/4 - no episode. 7/5- repeat. Carmelo overhears them talking, goes
to the police station and gets Antonio released. Gabriela tells Fabian she
doesn’t want to work with him on the new furniture designs, but he prevails on
her professionalism. Hector swears undying love to Adelina. Silverio admits he
lost an important check; Sandra tells Octavio that she took care of the matter
and begs him to give Silverio a second chance, which he does. Graciela’s mother
warns her that Rodolof will never accept Antonio; not only isn’t he rich, he
lacks education, culture, doesn’t speak right. Valeria warns Antonio that
Graciela is too high for him. Ana Luisa takes her bracelet to the jeweler and
discovers that Rodolfo bought two. She goes to the office and sees the
duplicate on the secretary’s wrist. But when she questions Rodolfo, he tells
her that his secretary asked him to buy it for her on the grounds that she
would pay him back out of her salary. Ana Luisa accepts the explanation. That
night, he takes her bracelet back because of her lack of confidence in him and
tears off the necklace she was wearing which, apparently, Octavio gave her many
years before. Antonio gets a job as a waiter and makes a lunch date with
Graciela. Fabian asks Octavio to arrange a lunch meeting with Graciela about
the designs, which he does. She gives a note to Valeria to give to Antonio
explaining why she must cancel the date. Valeria tears up the note.

no encuentran a Mary. Gabriela le brinda toda su ayuda a Antonio y él se lo
agradece. Héctor hace una confesión a Adelina. Por Gabriela, Octavio se entera
por lo que está pasando Antonio. Octavio habla con Julia de la situación de su
aserradero de Durango. Fabián planea obsequiarle un anillo a Gabriela. Sandra
descubre algo acerca de Fabián. Rodolfo se enfurece porque ve juntos a Gabriela
y Antonio. Rodolfo se desquita con Analuisa. Octavio le da una sorpresa a
Antonio.

confesión a Adelina. Por Gabriela,
Octavio se entera por lo que
está pasando Antonio y le ofrece
su ayuda. Antonio recibe una
buena noticia. Octavio habla con
Julia respecto a la situación de
su aserradero de Durango. Fabián planea obsequiarle un anillo a Gabriela.
Sandra descubre algo acerca
de Fabián. Con tristeza,

USA 7/9-13/01. Two older women flirt with Antonio
at the restaurant. The next table he serves is the one with Graciela and
Fabian. Fabian is gross, knocks him so he spills a drink, gets him fired.
Sandra arranges for a swimming race between Silverio and Fabian. Silverio wins
but has an asthma attack. The neighbors come up with the rent to save Antonio’s
family from being kicked out. Ana Luisa decides to go back to school and ends
up in the same class as Antonio. Cacha doesn’t tell ? where their child is.
Octavio asks Silverio to find Antonio. He decides to go to the U.S. for work.
Mary runs away to join him. At the bus, Gabriela arrives in time to explain
about the meal and he learns that Valeria tore up her note. Still the bus is
leaving when Valeria arrives and stops it to tell him that Mary is missing. A
search begins that involves even Octavio and she is finally found. Julia
Carillo arrives at the business to discuss some illegal action by the company
but Sandra won’t let her see Octavio so she turns up at his house and gives him
the papers. Sandra and Adelina try to keep him from reading it (the deal was
arranged by Héctor). Adelina warns Héctor and Sandra tells Octavio that Julia
is probably lying, just trying to get money out of the company. Antonio and
Gabriela have an impromptu date. When they return, Rodolfo charges out of the
house and hits Antonio. Rodolfo tells Gabriela to stop seeing Antonio or leave
the house. Valeria runs into Alejandro while walking down the street. Trini
closes the car shop. Adelina tries and fails to prevent Julia Carillo from
talking to Octavio. He says he will investigate but there is no proof; she says
it is hard to find because armed men enter the forest at night. Octavio bought
the car shop and hires Antonio as the manager. Antonio and Gabriela become
novios but on the advice of her friend, she asks him to keep it a secret.
Octavio gives Héctor the bank account number of Julia’s organization and asks
him to make a large anonymous donation; he also asks Héctor to investigate the
allegations. Héctor tells Adelina they will have to cease operations for a
while; she tells him they must do something about Julia. Diego tells Octavio
that he has cancer.
Sandra agrees to help Rodolfo with his goal of uniting
Fabian Gabriela. Valeria and Alejandro have lunch. Alejandro’s mother tells his
father Daniel that she is sorry he broke his engagement with Normita and hopes

birthday party at which Sandra arranges for Fabian to win the chance to dance

USA 7/16-20/01. At the party,
Antonio and Fabian get into a fight; Antonio apologizes to Octavio. Gabriela
leaves the party with a “headache” and joins Antonio for a small party in a
coffee shop. There he sees the ring that Fabian gave her; she tells him it is a
fake. Sandra overhears Octavio tell his lawyer he wants to change his will; she
enters and pretends she just learned he has cancer. She makes a big scene;
later her mother suggests she can serve as Octavio’s nurse and will be in charge
of the medications. Mary leaves the gas on but Antonio and Valeria return home
in time. Rodolfo splashes Valeria with his car and tries to make a pass at her;
she ignores him but he goes into the store she came out of and finds out her
first name, explains what happened and buys a replacement dress. Fabian’s men
beat up Antonio when he is alone at the shop. Valeria goes to Trini’s apartment
looking for ? and he drags her into the bedroom. His wife arrives before he can
rape her and Valeria escapes. Gabriela finds Antonio and takes him to the

07-16-2001 20:36 Fer and Marcos spend the day on Edgar's
yacht. They sail near an island and Fer asks Marcos to drop the anchor. He
does, but it doesn't catch. They take the raft to the island and spend some
time there. When they are ready to leave, they discover the yacht has drifted
away. Marcos calms Fer who worries they'll die on that island. Joanna goes into Reni's room and lets into him about Diana. He tells
her that she doesn't know her. He says that he's going back to sleep and she
tells him that that is all he's good for. Joanna, Edgar
and Tony are worried because Fer hasn't returned. Tony is really ticked because
he realizes he was the catalyst for Fer and Marcos going out on the yacht.
Joanna promises Edgar she'll never forgive him if anything happens to her.
Edgar feels that if she is with Marcos she is in good hands. Fer and Marcos find an abandoned fisherman's hut and clean it up.
Marcos finds a bottle of rum and gives some to Fer. She isn't used to it but
starts to drink more. While looking at the stars, she recites part of one of
Fabián's poems. Now drunk, she tells Marcos about Fabián and how she felt when
he left her at the altar. Marcos tells her he's not worth suffering over. He
tries to get the bottle away from her but she runs off to the ocean. She dances
awhile on the beach and then passes out. Marcos carries her back to the hut. He
removes her wet clothes and puts his shirt on her and then covers her with a
blanket. Later she begins to talk in her sleep saying "Don't leave
me." Marcos hugs her and they kiss. Next morning
the coast guard calls Edgar but with no further news. Reni comes in after spending
the night with Diana and learns what happened. Tony calls to tell Edgar that
they can go to the coast guard office and wait for news there. Reni wants to go
but Edgar orders him to stay home. Reni calls Diana to tell her what happened
and she tells him that she's coming over. Fer wakes up
with a hangover. She doesn't remember anything that happened. She asks how she
came to be wearing Marcos' shirt. He explains that she was shivering so he
removed her wet clothes and put his shirt on her. Later she apologizes for
acting like a fool. She asks him if anything else happened. He doesn't tell her
about the kiss but says she talked about Fabián. Fer says that Marcos is her
only confidante. He tells her that recently he was deceived...about the dance.
He tells her that he felt something for her the first time he saw her. At first
she doesn't want to hear it but then she admits that she likes the fact that he
likes her. They really kiss. Elisa complains that she can't
find a job and that her freelance clients don't pay her. She asks Federico for
$1000 to pay off her credit card. He brings her $550 which was all that was in
his account. She gets mad at him and asks him to get a loan from the bank where
he has worked for the past 20 years. He comes home and tells her he didn't get
the loan...he got a pink slip. Fer and Marcos arrive home. Around
the dinner table they tell what happened. Tony insinuates that Marcos took
advantage of Fer. Marcos becomes angry at the accusation and leaves the table.
Tony honestly can't figure out why he got so upset. Diana tells him it's
because of the questions he was asking. Joanna tells her that no one asked her
and takes Reni into another room and tells him to get rid of her. Diana
overhears Reni defending her. Fer tells Tony that she wouldn't
be around if it weren't for Marcos. She asks him to be nice to Marcos. He says
he'll try which of course means "Get real!" Edgar tells Marcos that
he owes him. Marcos says that what he wants most in the world is to work. Edgar
informs him that he'll start at Musa Records tomorrow. Next day Marcos looks very spiffy in his suit. He goes to the
breakfast table where Fer tries to pretend he isn't there. The upside-down
newspaper she is reading is a dead giveaway that she is uncomfotable but they
talk about what happened on the island. Edgar then joins them. Moncho reports to Musa. Tony tries to pump him for information about
who got Fer to represent him. He tries to dodge his questions. Federico is trying to figure what he can sell to make some money. He
says he won't mortgage the house but he'll have to sell the car. He thinks he
can get $6000 for it. Elisa is horrified. Edgar arrives
at the office and tells Tony about his new acquisition. Tony thinks he has
signed a new recording act. Marcos walks in and Edgar introduces him as his new personal
assistant. Stay tuned!
Adelina takes a
call from Rogelio and tells him that Octavio has started radiation and
chemotherapy. He tells Ana Luisa who visits Octavio and offers her support. In
Durango, Julia swears at her sister’s grave to avenge her death. Gabriela tells
Octavio that Antonio is in bad shape and he goes to the hospital to ensure the
besst of care. Fabian tells Rodolfo that the work friend Gabriela is visiting
in the hospital is Antonio. Rodolfo goes to the hospital and reprimands her;
Octavio intervenes. Rodolfo tells Gabriela she must quit her job or else. She
tells her mother she will, for her sake. Octavio tries to blackmail Rodolfo
into letting Gabriela stay by saying he will call in his debt but Rodolfo knows
he won’t do anything to hurt Ana Luisa. Sandra tells Octavio and Gabriela that
she will talk to Rodolfo. She reminds him that without Gabriela, the designs
for the furniture Fabian is going to buy will not go further and that the
project requires the two to work together. Rodolfo changes his mind. In the
hospital, Antonio wakes up and at first fails to recognize Gabriela but later
is able to. The doctor gives Sandra pills for Octavio; Adelina has her throw
them away and substitutes others which make Octavio ill. Isabel thinks the pill
looks different from what the doctor gave them but Sandra assures her it is the
correct prescription. Doña Liche and other women in the vecinidad confront
Valeria and forcibly cut off her hair. The man who works for Fabian steals some
of the contraband jewels from Fabian. Then he puts one in a bag in a factory.
Valeria gets a new hairstyle. Antonio thanks Octavio for all his help. Ana
Luisa gives him a book, they talk of the argument that separated them, how when
he had forgotten/forgiven she was engaged to Rodolfo. Valeria and Mary move
into the beautifician’s apartment. When Fabian finds the missing jewels,
Plutarco/Policarpo? puts the blame on the man he framed. Adelina runs into
Rodolfo and returns the handkerchief that Ana Luisa left in Octavio’s office.
Rodolfo destroys the flower in the book and hits Ana Luisa. Octavio tells
Isabel a bit about his past with Ana Luisa, how he met them years after the
marriage and they became friends again. Valeria tries to hide her cut hair from
Antonio. Plutarco gives the jewel to Lolita. She gets more money from Rodolfo
who finds out that Gabriela has rejected his gift of a dress to replace the one
his car splashed. Rodolfo’s project with the government is canceled. Gabriela
visits Fabian, tells him she doesn’t want to work with him because she is sure
that he was behind Antonio’s beating. .

USA 7/23-29/01. Sandra
and Silverio tells Gabriela she has no proof and defend Fabian who insists to
Sandra that he had nothing to do with the beating. At the office, Mireya and
Carmelo argue. Fabian threatens Trini, warns him not to tell anybody that he
was behind the beating. Antonio is upset when he learns that his sisters are
living with Dalila; he believes it is his responsibility to care for them.
Rodolfo’s business is embargoed. He asks Octavio for help; Octavio refuses to
give him a loan but offers to participate with him in the sale of the furniture
designed by Gabriela. Then he goes to Fabian who agrees to take over all his
loans. Rodolfo doesn’t know that Fabian was behind the loss of the contract and
the embargo. As he tells Plutarco, it is part of his plan to win Gabriela.
Wanting even more money, Rodolfo remembers the ring that Fabian gave Gabriela
and steals it from her room. She finds it in his office and he explains his
financial situation. She tells him to do what he wants with the ring. His
associate says he could still lose everything including his house but he
remembers that his house is in his wife’s name so if he needed money he could
sell it. Carmelo tells Gabriela he is sure that Trini was behind the beating so
she apologizes to Fabian and thanks him for helping her father. Julia and Bruno
mark the trees in the forest so they’ll know if something happens. Rodolfo
tells his wife they must sell the house and buy an apartment but not to worry
Gabriela. Sandra tells Silverio she loves him. At a business meeting, Gabriela
questions the price Hector has shown for the materials; it should be half. He
pretends to have made a mistake but afterwards, his cousin Fabian warns him not
to try to cheat him again. Hector tells Adelina. At dinner, Ana Luisa tells
Gabriela they couldn’t find her ring. Rodolfo says he took it for safekeeping.
Octavio invites Antonio and his family to move into an apartment on his grounds
with a separate entrance. Gabriela warns Trini not to hurt Antonio or his
family again. Fabian tells Octavio that he loves Gabriela. Gabriela overhears
Valeria confess to Doña Dalila that Mary is her daughter and Alejandro’s, that
he didn’t know of the pregnancy but that was why his mother Yolanda sent him
abroad to study. Norma arrives, at the invitation of Yolanda. Julia visits the
grave of her sister Nuria? and tells ? that she was killed 5 years before by
her husband Fabian San Miguel for the life insurance although the authorities
claim she was killed when she was robbed of her jewels. Meanwhile, Alejandro and Mary are becoming
friends.Gabriela is convinced to join Octavio and Sandra at his beach home.
Fabian arrives and he thanks Sandra. Then Antonio arrives. Julia and her
associate take pictures of the illegal activity in the woods at night. Valeria
continues to reject Alejandro.

drunk Silverio, then pretends remorse because she had always wanted her first
time to be with her husband...and Silverio believes her. Sandra contrives to
leave Fabian alone with Gabriela by asking Antonio to fix the engine on her
motor boat and then by coaxing him and Mary to take a ride. Gabriela sees them
and becomes jealous. Alejandro tells Norma that he loves Valeria and she
decides to leave but Yolanda begs her to stay. Ana Louisa gives Rodolfo some
money she has earned but refuses to sell the house. Antonio and Gabriela make
up and Octavio and Isabela see them kissing on the balcony. He realizes that
Rodolfo would not approve of the relationship. Dalila argues with a dry cleaner
(?) whose friend has just suggested he put an ad in the personals. Rodolfo
arrives at his lover’s house when she is with Plutarco; she calls the building

home, beats Ana Luisa and rapes her. Antonio and Gabriela become lovers on the
beach. Silverio tells Sandra he doesn’t love her. She decides to get Gabriela’s
help and she somehow manages to convince him that he does. He proposes to
Sandra at dinner and she accepts. Octavio is happy because he has made them
both his heirs. Alejandro swears to Valeria that it was his mother who brought
Norma to the city but she refuses to accept his love. When Gabriela arrives
home, her mother tells her that she was hit by a car or bus and Gabriela
believes her. She refuses to see a doctor but at dinner that night she faints.
Gabriela, rushing to get some information to the catalog producer sees her
father and follows him into his lover’s apartment. He tries to explain but she
sees the lipstick on his face. Sandra steals a photo of Antonio and Gabriela on
the beach, gives it to Fabian who gives it to Rodolfo. Sandra accidentally
steps on Mari’s hamster and she has to take it to Alejandro’s clinic where
Valeria finds her. Julia and Bruno take more photos of the illegal logging.
Antonio becomes responsible for the machines I the factory making Gabriela’s
designs. Gabriela tells him about Dolores/Lolita and her father; he recommends
that she say nothing. Rodolfo finds them together in the office kissing and
raises a fuss; she tells him he has no control over her and if he tries
anything she will tell her mother about his lover. The next day, they fight
again and he locks her in her room. She gets out and tells her mother. Her
mother overhears her on the phone with Dolores and Gabriela admits the truth.
Then her mother admits that her injuries came from Rodolfo. When he arrives
home, his bags are packed, Ana Luisa is someplace safe and Gabriela tells him
to leave. He hits her; Antonio arrives and the two fight. Alejandro tells
Valeria he will leave the barrio if there is no hope, she says goodbye, returns
and kisses him.

Diario de Yucatan, 10/15/00:Octavio reclama a
Rodolfo que se haya portado mal con Analuisa, a quien Antonio ofrece su apoyo.
Sandra está preocupada porque Octavio insiste en leer el periódico. Por quedar
bien con Gabriela, Fabián decide dar un donativo a los niños de la iglesia del
padre Chucho. Octavio lee el periódico y queda sorprendido con la noticia que
se publicó. Gabriela y Antonio le dan una grata sorpresa a Analuisa. Julia
vuelve a discutir con Sandra sobre el aserradero Rangel. Valeria reclama a
Antonio que ande con Gabriela. Valeria se pone celosa, pero Alejandro la
convence que la única mujer a la que ama es a ella. Sin embargo, ésta se
enfurece al ver a Gabriela en el salón de belleza. Lolita se encuentra con
Sandra. Antonio pide una explicación a Gabriela sobre el comentario que le hizo
a Valeria. Sandra dice a Gabriela que está muy feliz por su próxima boda con
Silverio. Mary tiene un incidente, Fabián la auxilia y se gana el
agradecimiento de Gabriela. Antonio agradece a Fabián que haya salvado a Mary.
Lolita y Analuisa se encuentran en el salón de belleza de Dalila y discuten. Gabriela
visita a Octavio, quien se preocupa por lo que sucede con su aserradero. Fabián
quiere que Antonio quede mal con Octavio y Gabriela. Antonio dice a Octavio que
si tiene problemas económicos puede vender el taller para que recupere de
inmediato la inversión. Valeria tiene miedo de que Alejandro se entere que tuvo
que ver con Trini y la desprecie. Octavio se pone mal de salud y Analuisa se
angustia. Fabián encarga un “trabajito” a Trini. Gabriela se impresiona al ver
a Antonio con “La Chata”. Después comenta a Mireya que no desea saber nada de
Antonio. Gabriela culpa a Antonio de lo que sucedió con uno de los trabajadores

8/6-10/01. Sandra hides Octvaio’s watch under Mari’s mattress and Silverio
finds it when he arranges for a new mattress. He calls Octavio, who is spending
the day with Mari and Valeria at a park, and is told to take it to the office.
When Adelina “finds” the watch is missing, she tells Isabel the only person it
could have been was Antonio. Isabel calls the police who search Mari’s room but
find nothing. Rodolfo moves in with Dolores/Lolita who worries how to deal with
him and her other lover. Rodolfo can’t get into his house because the keys have
been changed. Octavio finds Sandra unmaking Mari’s bed and accuses her of
hiding the watch there; she cries but he says that Antonio’s family couldn’t have taken it because he saw it
just before he and they spent the day together. Sandra’s mother becomes
furious, then puts jewels in a maid’s drawer and steals other jewels and
silver. She “finds” them in the drawer and fires the maid (threatening her with
jail), then tells Octavio that she left and took all her things without saying
a word and she found some of her jewels missing. A search commences and Isabel
finds jewelry missing, Sandra’s mom says the silver is missing, etc. Octavio
pretends to accept the explanation but asks Silverio to find the maid and get
her story. Then he offers Antonio the option to buy his shop which Silverio has
told him is doing very well. Antonio offers a corporation for him and his
employees/shareholders. Sandra gets Silverio to tell her about Antonio and his
work and learns about the shop. Don Felipe and Dalila both start to write their
first “personals” ads. Gabriela tells Fabian he must accept that she is
Antonio’s novia if they are to work together. He agrees. Rodolfo gets into a
fight with Mireya which Gabriela stops; Octavio hears her warn Rodolfo never to
touch her mother again or she will report him to the police. Octavio offers his
support. Antonio arranges a meeting between Ana Luisa and his novia while she
arranges a meeting between him and her daughter. The scene is funny as the two
realize what has happened; it takes Ana Luisa a while to understand but gives
them her blessing. Julia’s article is published and the family tries to hide it
from Octavio but Julia arrives at the house, returns the check she thinks he
sent and shows him the article. Adalina warns Héctor who is ordered by Octavio
to investigate the situation. Fabian is there and afterwards tells Héctor he
will help him out of the mess in exchange for help in the factory (I think he
plans to do something to prove that Antonio can’t manage the equipment). Chata
discovers that Lalo is his son. Lolita steals more checks from Rodolfo.
Gabriela tells Julia that Octavio is innocent but she doesn’t believe it until
Bruno informs her that it is true: his employees were acting behind his back.
Octavio is having financial problems because of the fines and Antonio offers to
see the car shop but Octavio refuses. A huge affair is held to celebrate the
new line of furniture.

hospitalized and the doctor wonders if Adelina gave him the prescribed medicine
properly. Fabian pays Trini to get Chata drunk and drugged. He takes her to a
hotel room. Sandra disguises her voice and calls Antonio, saying her life is in
danger. He leaves the factory to go to her. Plutarco calls Gabriela and tells
her where to go to find out with whom Antonio is. She sees him leaving the
hotel with Chata. Meanwhile, Fabian steals some kind of important paper and
burns it up. An employee is injured and Gabriela blames Antonio for leaving the
factory. An audit proves that Antonio not only did the proper maintenance but
actually postponed the time when a defect in the equipment would cause it to
break down. Sandra and Silverio get married. Antonio gives Octavio money from
the shop, which he accepts as partial payment, in time to prevent him from
turning his business over to Fabian. Antonio asks that he not tell Gabriela who
then assumes that the money came from Fabian. He plans to force Ana Luisa to
sell the house to pay Rodolfo’s debts, thus making Gabriela more dependent on
him. She tells Antonio she wants nothing to do with him. Bruno shows Julia
proof of all the money Octavio has given to environmental concerns and she
realizes she has misjudged him.

Silverio finds Sandra in the steam room with her hunk. She runs after him,
eventually corners him at home and swears that it was an old boyfriend who came
looking for her and wouldn’t accept that it was over. Alejandro tells his
parents he is going to marry Valeria; his father congratulates him, his mother
Yolanda says “never”. Octavio gives information to Julia about the reforestration.
Silverio visits the maid accused of theft and believes her version. She also
mentions hearing Sandra call Adelina “mother”. He searches his room and finds
the jewels hidden in the closet. Then he hears Adelina and Sandra; he hides in
the closet and overhears the truth: that she is Adelina’s daughter, not
Octavio’s niece, that she married him only to inherit. He gets an asthma attack
and they hear him. He runs out of the room, trips on the stairs. Adelina hits
him over the head; he falls down the stairs and dies. Adelina and Sandra put
the bloody wedding gown in a box and go out for a drive. Octavio and Isabel
arrive and find Silverio dead. Octavio calls Sandra on her cell phone. At the
funeral, Antonio tries to comfort Gabriela who recalls Silverio’s declaration
of love and Julia confronts Fabian who suggests that she believes he killed her
sister (and wife) for the insurance money out of guilt because the two of them
had sex. Gabriela finds the bloody dress while comforting Sandra in her room
and Sandra tells part of the truth; Gabriela doesn’t know she wasn’t supposed
to have been in the house when the accident happened. Gabriela stops a fight
between Antonio and Alejandro and tells Antonio that Valeria has a right to be
happy with the man she loves. Octavio sees Adelina burning the bloody gown; she
explains that the sight was too painful for Sandra. Fabiano has Plutarco follow
Gabriela at night in a mask; she becomes frightened. Antonio takes flowers to
Isabel who thanks him. Doña Dalila tells Antonio that Valeria has a right to
marry the man she loves and Mary has a right to live with her real father.
Isabel notices blood at the stop of the stairs. Antonio finally accepts
Alejandro as a suitor. Adelina wipes away the blood before Octavio sees it and
suggests that Isabel was just imagining it. Fabian offers Rodolof an illegal
way to earn money and repay him. Julio recommends the attorney Ignacio San
Millen to Octavio when his lawyer moves out of town. Gabriela talks to Chata.
Fabian and Plutarco enter Gabriela’s house and Fabian rapes her. She doesn’t
tell her mother, goes to work, tells the the padre what happened and he
promises to put her in touch with people who can help. Ana Luisa discovers she
isn’t pregnant, just starting menopause. Chata’s child is sick. Alejandro make
love in their new apartment; after the leave, the vecinidad gossip tells her,
again, to stay away from her husband, in front of Alejandro.

8/27-31/01. Gabriela seeks comfort in Antonio’s arms, cries but doesn’t explain
why. Sandra hides the candelabra used to kill Silverio in a box of household
good to be sold for charity but Isabel recognizes it and takes it back. Octvaio
names Antonio the new head of sales when he comes up with a solution to a
problem presented by Héctor (designed to earn him kickbacks and lose money for
the company). Rodolfo finds Plutarco with Lolita and leaves her. She visits him
in the office but can’t win him back. Detectives arrive at the house to tell
the family that Silverio was killed and their investigative staff will look for
signs of blood. Gabriela finally tells Mireya what happened to her and she
gives her the name of a psychiatrist. A drunk Trinidad accosts Valeria on the
street. Julia and Octavio walk in the wood and talk; she asks him what he knows
of Fabian and admits that he was married to her sister but won’t say more.
Gabriela keeps rejecting Antonio’s caresses but refuses to explain why; he says
he will wait till she is ready. Gabriela visits the psychiatrist, is thrilled
when Fabian shows her the ads and reviews of her furniture line. Antonio and
Sandra become friends. Rodolfo seeks help from Octavio but is refused. Antonio
tells Héctor he wants them to work as a team. While visiting the cemetery with
Isabel, Octavio faints. He needs a bone marrow transplant and Sandra is afraid
to be tested. Yolanda runs into Doña Licha who tells her that Valeria has a
loose reputation. Yolanda tells Alejandro but he tells Valeria he doesn’t
believe the rumors. Adelina and Sandra hear the lawyer and detective talking
about the murder; they suspect somebody in the house and decide to look for the
place where the bloody pillow is being cleaned. Mary sees a photo that contains
a picture of Arnoldo and recognizes him as a man who threatened Silverio. She
tells Adelina, then Valeria, Gabriela and Isabel. Adelino visits Arnoldo, the hunk, at the gym without telling
Sandra and asks him to pick up the pillow. After he does, she visits the gym
again and while he is doing a flat press with a heavy dumbbell bar, she presses
it down on his throat and kills him. Julia apologizes to Sandra for her
attitude toward Octavio. Fabiana pays Rodolfo for his work. Adelina and Sandra
overhear the lawyer and detective discussing the crime, deciding to take a
pillow to neighborhood launderers to see if one with blood was cleaned. Mary
recognizes Arnoldo in a picture as the man who threatened Silverio, tells
Adelina and then Gabriela, Valeria and Isabel. Without Sandra’s knowledge,
Adelina asks Arnoldo, the hunk to pick it up, then when he is doing a bench
press with heavy weights, instead of helping him, she pushed the bar against
his throat and kills him. Antonio gives bone marrow to Octavio. Fabian pays
Rodolfo.

gets Alejandro to name his girlfriend tells him the one he knows with that name
has a bad reputation. Alejandro finds Valeria giving massages, tells her she
lied and breaks up with her. Gabriela gets anonymous calls from the
rapist at home and at work. Rodolfo asks the priest to help him win back Ana
Luisa. Sandra and her mother overhear Octavio tell Isabel he will include
Antonio in his will after she confesses that he was the donor. Several men
attack Gabriela and her mother; she almost faints; A cop arrives in time to
scare them off but not catch them. Adelina tells Sandra to romance Antonio. She
starts by feigning a faint; he carries her to her room and Adelina asks him to
help her come out of her depression. Julia and Octavio talk in his hospital
room.

Mari; he is there with Norma, his wife. Sandra flirts with Antonio. Doña Dalila
can’t keep her blind date because she is hit by ? riding a bike. Don Benigno is

the masked rapist.

9/17-21/01: Gabriela finally goes to group therapy. Alejandro’s mother sees
Mari sitting sadly on a bench and, not knowing who she is, talks to her and
invites her for ice cream. Rodrigo begs Ana Luisa for another chance and gets
it. Sandra and Fabian plot to make Antonio believe she is cheating on him with
Fabian. When Gabriela goes to Cuernavaca for a conference, Sandra sees to it
that Lolita tells her loudly about Gabriela and Fabian being there together.
Antonio calls the hotel, gets her room; when she answers, he hangs up. She
thinks it is the rapist again and seeks Fabian for comfort. Antonio, of course,
arrives at the restaurant just as she is hugging Fabian for thanks. He doesn’t
believe her when she says they met accidentally. After he walks out of the
restaurant, she faints and Fabian takes her to the hospital where he donates
blood. Antonio arrives and stays all night; in the morning, the nurse tells him
she is all right although she lost the baby which, luckily, was less than a
month old. A furious Antonio goes to see her and says he never wants to see her
again but doesn’t explain why. I suspect that Gabriela didn’t know she was
pregnant. When the doctor tells Fabian she lost a baby, he asks him not to tell
Gabriela. Rodolfo finds the necklace that Octavio gave Ana Luisa, doesn’t take
it from her but tells her that if their reconciliation fails, Octavio will be
the reason. Ana Luisa returns it to Octavio and tells him she can’t see him
again. Don Benigno receives a letter from Dalila explaining why she didn’t meet
him. He is happy and relieved. Mari meets Alejandro’s mother again on the
bench. Sandra offers Antonio her support and kisses him.

Rodolfo’s invitation to his house where he tries to rape her and Ana Luisa finds
them. Ana Luisa tells Gabriela, realizes that Rodolfo hasn’t changed. Gabriela
tells Antonio who reprimands Valeria for her behavior: Alejandro, his boss, now
Rodolfo. She tells him she didn’t know Rodolfo was Gabriela’s father or
married. He tells her she doesn’t deserve to have a daughter like Mari.
Gabriela reprimands her father and tells him not to oppose a divorce. Fabiana
asks Rosario (Chachita) about her son, but she doesn’t say much. Julia tells
Bruno about her one-night relationship with Fabian and how her sister was
killed soon thereafter. Ana Luisa sees Octavio with Julia and wishes them the
best. Mireya tells Gabriela she can thank Fabian for getting rid of the man who
raped her. Sandra pretends to like Mari. Antonio apologizes to Ana Luisa. Octavio
tells Isabel that somebody was in his drawer going through his papers. Antonio
doesn’t know he is one of Octavio’s heirs. Sandra talks to Fabian about
Antonio, seems to be in love. Valeria leaves Antonio a note: she has left to

10/1-5/01. Gabriela opens her own office with Octavio and Fabian as her
first clients. Antonio tells Sandra he doesn’t love her. Later he goes to talk
to her, distressed she slashes her wrists. Miraculously healed, Octavio
comforts her (not knowing what happened) and Antonio asks his permission to
court her formally. Sandra explains it is their attempt to overcome their unhappiness
(Silverio and Gabriela). Valeria looks for work but has no references. Finally
she is hired after an employer calls Doña Dalila. Octavio tells Adelina he
doesn’t want her interfering anymore in her life. Adelina tells Sandra they
must find some way for Octavio to learn that Julia had an affair with Fabian,
the husband of her sister. Fabian hires a prostitute, beats her up and recalls
his rape of Gabriela. Alejandro and Norma have a fight then make up.
Alejandro’s mother take Mari home, finds a book on the shelf she had been
looking for for years, opens it and finds Valeria’s letter in which she calls
Mari her daughter. She leaves the house quickly, goes to church and prays, says
she must keep the secret for the sake of her son’s happiness. Antonio talks to
a young man who is angry with Rossana (his mother?) because of a lie (is he
adopted?). Octavio discovers Adelina reading a copy of his will naming Antonio
as his heir and tells her to leave the house. Gabriela, Meche and Ana Luisa
plan how to earn their own living, pay for the house, etc. Rodolfo arrives and
says he is taking possession of his property. (Gabriela had assumed that the
marriage was por bienes separados and that the house was her mother’s). Sandra
tells Octavio that Adelina looked for the will to please her, Sandra’s,
curiosity, that she doesn’t care whether or not she gets any money. She
convinces him to let Adelina stay. Ana Luisa, Gabriela and Meche move in with
Mireya; Rodolfo presented papers in which AL gave him rights over the house.
She tells Gabriela she thought she had signed something else and they talk to
Julia’s lawyer. Isabel defends Sandra to Octavio but he still has an uneasy
feeling about Adelina. Chachita says goodbye to Talachas, tells him to find a
woman his own age. But after she boards the bus, Antonio arrives with Lalo in
his arms and she decides to stay. Lalo tells her he wants to live with her and
later explains when he learned that she is his mother. She explains why she
left him with Padre Chucho. Rodolfo sets a trap for Lolita and finds her
forging more checks in his office, tells her he found a bunch in the apartment
and is going to turn her over to the police. Just then, the police arrive with
an order to arrest Rodolfo. He draws a gun and escapes. Bruno tells Julia she
can’t really love Octavio, is using him to escape from the guilt of her past.
When she goes to visit Octavio, she overhears him arranging to buy Ana Luisa’s
house from Rodolfo if that is the only way to get it back to her. Afterwards,
she breaks up with him, tells him it is obvious that he still loves Ana Luisa
and it is possible she is trying to forget her past. They agree to be friends
and Octavio admits to Isabel that Julia is right: he still loves Ana Luisa.
Doña Dalila arranges to play a trick on Don Benigno whom she now knows is the
man she has been writing to; Columba turns up at the meeting place, shocking
him because he can’t have a relationship with such a young woman. Then Dalila
appears and tells him she is the woman to whom he was writing.

amor. Gabriela decide apoyar a su mamá para que por fin sea feliz al lado de
Octavio. Gabriela escucha cuando Sandra pide a Mireya que la ayude a preparar
su boda con Antonio.—

how she turned to Rodolfo after having a fight with her novio Octavio. Then she
got pregnant, told Rodolfo and married him. Plutarco suggests to Lolita that
she get back together with Rodolfo because he has a lot of money. She succeeds
in winning him back. Gabriela tells her mother she must get a divorce, sees
Julia’s lawyer and agrees to testify against her father. Alejandro learns that
Valeria has left the city. Gabriela sees Sandra and Antonio kissing. She goes
to a meeting with Octavio and announces that she wants to resign.

Gabriela comenta a Mireya que vio besándose a Sandra y Antonio. Gabriela toma
una decisión definitiva respecto a su trabajo y se lo hace saber a Octavio.
Sandra busca a Gabriela y le dice que Antonio está muy entusiasmado con ella.
Antonio confiesa a Sandra que no la ama, ella lo chantajea y Antonio queda
impactado al ver la reacción de Sandra. Adelina celebra lo que hizo Sandra,
porque ahora sí podrán lograr su cometido. Antonio pide a Octavio le permita
ser novio de Sandra. Yolanda se da cuenta que Mary es hija de Valeria y
Alejandro. Octavio corre de su casa a Adelina. Ana Luisa se sorprende por una
noticia que le da Rodolfo acerca de su casa. Valeria se alegra porque consigue
trabajo. Fabián promete a Gabriela que hará hasta lo imposible por ayudarla a
ella y a Ana Luisa. Rodolfo lleva una desagradable sorpresa.

embarazo. Valeria acepta que Ricardo le tome fotos. Antonio le hace una proposición
a Gabriela. Octavio hace una pregunta a Sandra que la pone furiosa. Antonio da
una buena noticia a Mary y Dalila. Fabián reclama a Rodolfo que le haya robado.
Octavio nombra de otra manera a Sandra y ella queda impactada. Octavio cuenta
toda la verdad a Fabián. Sandra se entera de quién fue la persona que la
desenmascaró. Ana Luisa y Gabriela se impresionan al ver lo que esconde
Rodolfo. Fabián se enfrenta a Octavio. Isabel se sorprende al ver a Octavio y
culpa a Antonio de lo sucedido. Fabián da una mala noticia a Gabriela.
USA 10/8-12/01. Octavio and Ana
Luisa decide to marry. Antonio tells Sandra that if they become engaged,
Octavio will think it is because he wants her money. Julia admits to Ignacio
Santimillan, her lawyer, that she has broken up with Octavio because of his
love for Ana Luisa. Sandra tells her mother that Antonio still loves Gabriela
and, worse, Columba is after him again. She wants to buy the shop where Columba
works so she can fire her. Octavio offers Antonio a promotion. He refuses: he
has worked for the company only a short time and if he accepts, all will think
it is because of his relationship with Sandra. He wants to earn his promotion,
demonstrate his worth to all. Octavio understands, tells him he will wait but
wants him to learn as much of the business as he can. When Adelina finds Ana
Luisa in Octavio’s living room, she suggests that her behavior may be seen as
improper since she is still a married woman. At a restaurant, Fabian and
Gabriela arrive just before Sandra and Antonio arrive and they decide to dine
together, very uncomfortably. In the bathroom, Gabriela tells her that Antonio
is interested in her only for her money. Ana Luisa tells Adelina that her
comments don’t bother her in the least and tells her not to use that tone of
voice with her again. Alejandro’s mother encourages Norma to move away with
Alejandro, in case Valeria should return. Gabriela tells her mother she has a
way to make Rodolfo give them back the house. Fabian, Héctor and Plutarco
develop a plan to frame Antonio for fraud. Dalila and Benigno talk about their
mutual lovers and decide to try to be friends. Norma, walking with Alejandro,
sees Sandra in a car and recognizes her as an old schoolmate. Chacha visits
Valeria who tells her about Mari and gives her money to give to Dalila for
Mari; she doesn’t want Antonio to know where she is or where the money came
from. Antonio sees Mari with Alejandro and drags her away, tells Alejandro to
stay away. After Alejandro leaves, his mother tells Antonio she knows the truth
but also does not want Alejandro to know the truth or spend much time with
Mari. Fabian discovers that Rodolof robbed him but can’t do anything because
the jewels were smuggled in. Antonio finds Héctor with Adelina and promises not
to tell anybody about their relationship. Julia tells Fabian she is going to
re-open the case of her sister’s murder. Octavio goes to the beauty salon,
introduces himself to Dalila and asks about Valeria but gets little
information. Sandra fires Columba from the business she just bought. Rodolfo
tries to sell the jewels but hears the jeweler call the police and leaves.
Gabriela hears Plutarco tell Fabian something about Rodolfo. Fabian says he no
longer is doing business with Rodolfo, but he did steal some jewels from him.
Norma arrives at Octavio’s house and asks for Sofia, Octavio’s niece. Octavio
says her name is Sandra and Norma says well, maybe that is what she goes by now
but then shows him the high school yearbook picture of her friend, Sofia
Morales.

USA 10/15-19/01.
Norma shows Octavio and Fabian the picture, says her mother was a nurse,
concludes that maybe she had a cousin who resembled her. Octavio seems to
accept the answer and says he’s sorry he can’t help her find her old friend
Sofia Morales. Fabian remarks that Adelina’s last name is Morales. Afterwards,
Fabian tells Plutarco that Adelina and Sandra may not be with Octavio for long.
Octavio calls the consulate in San Antonio. Sandra tells Columba that Antonio
knows she bought the shop and is firing her. Columba tells Dalila and decides
to visit family. Norma insists to
Alejandro that something is strange; he is sure she is wrong. Norma tells his
parents she is hoping to add room to the house for when she has a child.
Rodolfo sees Octavio kiss Ana Luisa goodnight and makes a comment; Octavio hits
him and leaves with his chauffeur. Julia talks to Antonio about how bad Fabian
is but doesn’t go into details. She confesses to her mother what she did; her
mother forgives her. Sandra and Adelina note that Octavio seemed strange when
he greeted them. Octavio takes Gabriela to the hospital for the results of her
tests and she discovers that she had been pregnant. She talks to the doctor who
treated her, learns that her “novio” Fabian asked that she not be told, that
the nurse told Antonio she was pregnant. Gabriela tells Octavio about the rape,
how Antonio found her kissing Fabian; he suggests that she talk to Antonio,
that perhaps he assumed that Fabian was the father. Fabian goes to Julia’s forest
office, drugs her and sets the building on fire. Gabriela goes to Antonio and
demands that he listen to her. Then she
sees the fire, they head back to the building and get Julia out. She refuses to
notify the police, later tells Ignacio she is sure it was Fabian and confesses
her past. Benigno tells Policarpo and his woman that he is getting nowhere with
Dalila. Gabriela tells Antonio that she just learned that she was pregnant,
that the baby was the result of a rape. They reconcile, go somewhere and make
love. She is upset the next morning that she can’t find her ring. That night,
he takes her to a special, romantic dinner outside the car shop, where he
started and where his friends are. Fabian tells Plutarco that with Julia
out of the way, Rodolfo’s possession of the brooch doesn’t matter but he still
wants the jewels back. Octavio asks Sandra if she really loves Antonio or is
marrying him because he will inherit half of Octavio’s wealth. She assures him
the money doesn’t matter but tells Adelina who says they must get rid of
Octavio now, by poison. Octavio receives a package from San Antonio. Fabian
calls and Mireya tells him that Octavio doesn’t want to be disturbed because he
just received something important from San Antonio. Fabian hangs up and grins.
Valeria poses for photographs as a model. Adelina puts poison in Octavio’s
dinner. He enters the room and greets Sofia, Sofia Morales. He explains that he
has proof. Adelina tries to get him to blame just her but he kicks both of them
out. Fabian arrives and Octavio tells him the whole story, including the fact
that Antonio is one of his heirs. Fabian tries to excuse Sandra, say that she
is honest, but Octavio doesn’t believe it. Fabian finds Adelina and Sandra
taking money out of the safe, tells them it was Norma who made Octavio
suspicious, says it is obvious now that they killed Silverio and Sandra’s
lover, makes a deal: he’ll kill Octavio for ½ of the fortune. Adelina accepts.
Julia tells Octavio about her past and Fabian, about the brooch, warns him that
Fabian is dangerous. Meanwhile, Antonio returns the ring to Gabriela, has her
serenaded, etc. She tells her mother how happy she is. She and Ana Luisa go to
their house and find Rodolfo drunk, discover the jewels when some pottery
crashes. Rodolfo is arrested. Antonio tells Octavio he is back together with
Gabriela; they are interrupted before Octavio can tell him about Sandra. Octavio visits Ana Luisa and says they need
only wait for the divorce papers to marry. Fabian visits Octavio who tells him
he knows about Julia’s sister; at first Fabian denies it but when Octavio
mentions the brooch, he admits it. He knifes Octavio in the back. Octavio
escapes from the room into the garden, Fabian picks up another knife, follows
Octavio into Antonio’s house, knifes and kills him, drops one of the knives on
the floor and leaves. He sees Antonio arrive. Antonio sees the knife, picks it
up and handles it, then sees Octavio. Fabian enters with Isabela. Antonio is arrested. Fabian has Adelina
plant evidence proving Antonio guilty of fraud. Trinidad sets fire to the car
shop, not knowing Mari is in it. Plutarco visits Rodolfo in jail and tells him
to keep quiet if he values his life. Valeria finally gets a job as a
hairdresser in the shop (instead of just doing manicures). Alejandro rescues
Mari and both are taken to the hospital. Mari gets the news and goes to the
hospital. In Octavio’s office, Sandra plays the tape recorder that was on when
Octavio accused Fabian of killing Fabian
enters as she is playing with the cassette, says it is just music. Julia’s
sister and Fabian killed him. The nurse tells Alejandro that Mari’s mother is
with her, sees Valeria with her. She tells him that he is Mari’s father. Valeria tells Alejandro the whole story. When
his mother arrives with Norma, he asks her why he hid the truth. She admits she
hid the truth from him for his own good. Fabian asks Adelina and Sandra to find
the brooch Octavio has. Alejandro’s mother tells Valeria she is a bad mother
and Antonio is a criminal. Fabian destroys the picture of Nuria in which she is
wearing the brooch. The police investigate, search Octavio’s office. Valeria
visits Antonio in jail and tells him what happened and that Alejandro knows.
Héctor and Adelina backup the documentation that proves Antonio was stealing
from Octavio, assume that Octavio discovered the fraud. In Antonio’s apartment,
the police find receipts for large amounts of money in Antonio’s bank accounts
as well as a copy of Octavio’s will.

busca a Valeria para avisarle lo que le sucedió a Mary. Alejandro se encuentra
con Valeria, quien le hace una confesión. Alejandro reclama a Yolanda que le
haya ocultado el origen de Mary. Valeria se entera que Antonio está preso y va
a verlo. Valeria se asusta cuando se entera que Alejandro y Yolanda se llevaron
a Mary.Adelina y Sandra se extrañan por la actitud de Fabián. Ricardo da una
buena noticia a Valeria respecto a las fotografías que le tomó. Gabriela se
preocupa porque ahora culpan a Antonio de fraude. Fabián está dispuesto a

enamorado de Gabriela. Valeria acepta la propuesta de Ricardo y luego le cuenta
todo lo que ha pasado en su vida. Gabriela y Mireya se ponen de acuerdo para
ayudar a Antonio. Rodolfo se encuentra con Antonio. Ante las autoridades,

se encuentra con Valeria quien le hace una confesión. Alejandro reclama a
Yolanda que le haya ocultado el origen de Mary. Valeria se entera que Antonio
está preso y va a verlo. Valeria se asusta cuando se entera que Alejandro y
Yolanda se llevaron a Mary. Adelina y Sandra se extrañan por la actitud de
Fabián. Ricardo da una buena noticia a Valeria respecto a las fotografías que

USA 10/22-26/01.
Yolanda tells Valeria she can’t have Mari. Gabriela and Ignacio talk: there
must be some way to prove Antonio’s innocence. Fabian visits Rodolfo in jail
and makes a deal with him re Ana Luisa’s house. Alejandro confesses to Mari
that he is her father and Valeria is her mother; she refuses to believe it at
first but Yolanda confirms it (not telling her role in the story, of course).
Plutarco asks Fabian for a raise but is refused. Sandra visits Antonio in jail;
he confesses that he loves Gabriela. Mari hears Yolanda and Norma talking about
her: Yolanda says she will have Valeria jailed for abandoning her daughter if
she tries to get Mari, that Norma won’t have to worry about her care because
she can raise Mari. Lots of evidence is presented against Antonio at the trial.
Valeria tells Ricardo what is happening in her life, agrees to model full-time
and gets an advance on her pay. Gabriela tells Mireya that they must
investigate on their own to find the truth, although she doesn’t know how.
Valeria moves in with Dalila. Sandra tells Gabriela she’d rather see Antonio in
jail than with her. Valeria asks Ignacio to help her get Mari back. At a party,
Valeria asks Mari to come with her. Thinking of what she overheard, Mari tells
Valeria she wants to stay with Yolanda and Alejandro. At the trial, Adelina
testifies how she learned that Héctor and Antonio were involved in the
embezzlement together and how Antonio planned to kill Octavio. She doesn’t know
that Plutarco has killed Héctor. Fabian gives Ana Luisa the papers to her home
and a necklace to Gabriela which he insists that she accept. Yolanda teaches
Mari good table manners. Gabriela gives her father a Christmas problems; he
tells her he returned the papers to the house only because Fabian promised to
get him out of jail. Yolanda tells Alejandro that Mari is better off with him.
Alejandro is angry with Norma when she lets Mari read a letter from her
brother. Fabian tells Sandra that his mother left him when he was a child; his
father never celebrated anything thereafter.

quedarse a cenar en casa de Gabriela. Adelina comenta a Sandra que tienen que
planear algo para que ésta quede como heredera universal. Gabriela entrega a
Rodolfo un regalo de Navidad. Mary pide permiso a Alejandro para escribir una
carta a Antonio. Ricardo le declara su amor a Valeria. Valeria confiesa a
Dalila que sigue amando a Alejandro. Gabriela tiene miedo de que Sandra declare
en contra de Antonio y lo hunda. Valeria le cuenta a Antonio que trabaja como
modelo.

Yucatan, 12/24/00:Fabián acepta quedarse a cenar en casa de Gabriela.
Adelina comenta a Sandra que deben planear algo para que ésta quede como
heredera universal de la fortuna de Octavio.Gabriela visita a Rodolfo para
entregarle un regalo de Navidad, pero él no lo acepta. Mary pide permiso a
Alejandro para escribirle una carta a Antonio. Fabián no puede creer que Sandra
le haya dado un regalo de Navidad, ya que “ese tipo de cursilerías” no va con
ella.Ricardo se arma de valor y le declara su amor a Valeria, quien confiesa a
Dalila que aún ama a Alejandro. Gabriela tiene miedo de que Sandra declare
contra Antonio y lo hunda para siempre. Valeria le cuenta a Antonio que trabaja
como modelo. En la audiencia, Sandra miente para culpar a Antonio, y Gabriela
se molesta. A pesar de lo que declaró Sandra, Gabriela y Antonio confían en que
todo saldrá bien. En la cárcel, Antonio se encuentra con Plutarco. Sandra y
Gabriela discuten nuevamente por Antonio. Rodolfo riñe con Antonio y le dice
que el padre de Mary le quiere quitar a Valeria. Antonio pregunta a Valeria qué
problema tiene con Mary. Norma comunica una noticia a Alejandro. Gabriela
visita a Antonio y un reo los molesta. Isabel visita a Analuisa para hablar de
Octavio y Antonio. Adelina entra a la casa de Gabriela, y, al ser descubierta,
inventa lo primero que se le ocurre. Felipe y Dalila ganan un concurso de
baile. Antonio pide que el padre Chucho lo visite en el reclusorio, porque
desea confesarse. Dalila se sorprende por la proposición que le hace Felipe.—
USA 10/29/01-11/2/01: Ricardo tells Valeria that he loves her.
Antonio has problems in jail. Valeria tells Antonio she has work as a model.
Fabian proposes to Sandra a merger between Octavio’s company and his; she puts
him off: the will can’t be processed until after the trial. Norma and Alejandro
argue about Mari. Mari tells Antonio’s friends that she rejected Valeria to
keep her out of jail and makes them promise not to tell. Ignacio tells Julia
she doesn’t have proof against Fabian. In the trial, Sandra declares against
Antonio, says he deceived her as he deceived Octavio. Octavio’s lawyer says
Octavio called him that morning to change his will and he assumes it must have
been to take Antonio out of it; Ignacio establishes that that is only his
opinion. Plutarco calls Fabian: he has been arrested.
The trial
continues. Ignacio is able to shake Sandra’s testimony a bit. Isabel tells
Adelina she has doubts about Antonio’s guilt. La Chata asks Fabian for help
with her friend Valeria and tells him the whole story. He tells Plutarco who is
in jail. Plutarco tells Rodolfo who tells Antonio that Valeria has lost Mari.
Carmelo helps Mireya with her car, is fired by Sandra.
Dalila and
Felipe talk about their pasts; neither had children. Valeria admits to Antonio
that Mari is living with Alejandro. Adelina realizes that Octavio must have
hidden the broach in the furniture that Ana and Gabriela took out of the house.
She steals a key and enters the house that night, but Gabriela and Ana return
early and find her there. She says that the door was open, makes up an excuse
for the visit and leaves. Norma tells Alejandro that she is pregnant and is
disappointed by his reaction. Plutarco, on orders of Fabian, endeavors to
become friends with Antonio in jail, taking his part in a fight. Julia gets
another picture of her sister wearing the broach, enlarged from a negative her
mother had. Meche finds the broach in the acquarium, later gives it to Carmeno
who puts it in her pocket. Isabel admits to Ana that she isn’t sure about
Antonio’s guilt. At the trial, she tells how she found him holding the knife
but doesn’t think he was about to attack; he looked as surprised as she felt,
suspects he picked up the knife just as she would have. Dalila and Benigo win a
dance contest, but when he proposes to her afterwards, she laughs at him.
Sandra fires Mireya and then Abraham when he defends her. The will is read. Ana
Luisa and Isabel each get 10% of the shares in the company. Mari accidentally
spills paint on a baptism gown Yolanda gives to Norma; it infuriates Norma who
sends her to her room and accuses her of being jealous. When Isabel returns
home, she finds a box of lettuce. Adelina and Sandra tell her to leave the
house, to go back to selling vegetables.
Isabel goes to
Ana’s house and explains what happened. She and Gabriela offer her their home.
Gabriela runs into Mari and before Yolanda finds her discovers why she rejected
Valeria. Gabriela tells Alejandro who takes Mari back to Valeria. Then the two
of them work out a visiting schedule. Gabriela and Beto offer Mireya and
Abraham jobs in their new company. Fabian pays somebody (the judge?) to find
Antonio guilty, then testifies in his favor to, as he explains to Sandra and
Adelina, win back Gabriela. Mari and Valeria visit Antonio in jail. Yolanda
tells Daniel she will get back Mari with the help of the goodbye letter Valeria
wrote; he tears it up and tells her he will leave her if she does anything
against Valeria.

Fabian, Sandra and Adelina put their new plan in place: they kidnap Lalo and
demand that Chata testify against Antonio which she does. Months pass. Gabriela
changes her hairstyle. Norma has her baby. Mireya admits to Gabriela that she
likes Carmeno. Ana gets accepted by the university. Lolita visits Plutarco in
jail. Plutarco tells Antonio he will be condemned to 40 years. Sandra visits
Antonio, says she testified out of jealousy; when he sees Gabriela, he decides
to “free” her from him so he kisses Sandra passionately and tells Gabriel he
plans to start a life with Sandra. Antonio is condemned. Alejandro visits him
and Antonio forces Rodolfo to admit to Alejandro that he lied about Valeria.
Sandra makes a deal with Gabriela (worked out with Fabian): marry Fabian, not
that he will know the reason of course, and she will see that Antonio gets out
of jail. Gabriela accepts and proposes to Fabian. Antonio sees the wedding
announcement in the paper. Yamiré tells Chata (Rosario) that Fabian paid
Trinidad to kidnap Lalo. Ignacio proposes to Julia and she accepts. Chata
visits Antonio in jail and tells him why she testified as she did. Then she
calls _______ to tell the truth; on the way to the meeting she is shot. In the
hospital, she admits to Talachas that Lalo is his son. Plutarco, Antonio and
Rodolfo escapes. Plutarco draws a gun but Antonio gets it away from him; he and
Rodolfo escapes. Rodolfo goes to the apartment, threatens Lolita, hears a
message from Plutarco, ties her up and steals the money. Antonio goes to
Yamiré, hears what happened to Chata. They decide to get her out of the
hospital. Yamiré sees Trini asking for information on Chata and tells him she
died. Norma tells Alejandro she doesn’t
want Mari, the daughter of a convicted criminal, to be around her baby. Adelina
runs over Norma with her car; she dies in the hospital. Felipe tells Dalila he
is going away; this forces her to admit that she loves him. Antonio drives a
limo to pick up Gabriela on her way to the church, tells her Fabian is behind
everything. She kisses him, says she will go with him. Later they talk. He tells her what he
learned about Fabian from Plutarco. They try to figure out Sandra’s role. While
Antonio is sleeping, Gabriela leaves him and talks with Carmelo, Mireya,
Valeria about her plan to unmask Fabian. Yamiré talks with Chata. Gabriela asks
Valeria to punch her, puts on her wedding gown and goes home, tells Fabian and
her family that Antonio went crazy, hit her, she escaped. She hugs Fabian, says
they should plan another wedding (new dress, invitations, etc.). After he leaves,
she tells her family it is a trick, that Fabian was responsible for the fraud.
She gives more details to Mireya. When Antonio finds her gone, he goes to her
house and they talk again. Gabriela says that her wedding dress reminds her of
the blood on Sandra’s wedding dress. Antonio tells her that Sandra’s
explanation was a lie, he was there. They both start to think she had something
to do with Silverio’s murder. Gabriela visits Ignacio, tells him what she’s
learned, guessed and learns of Julia’s suspicions about Fabian. Héctor draws a
gun on Fabian in his warehouse. Gabriela searches his desk and finds the mask
he used when he raped her.

no episode on the 12th. Héctor warns Fabian he will return. Plutarco and
Lola move. Talachas and Chata talk of them, their love and Lalo. Chata finally
accepts him. Héctor calls Adelina, they meet, he tells her his plan to get
money from Fabiana. She tells Sandra it is a good idea, especially if he can
kill Fabian. Fabian finds Plutarco in his office, they have a sword fight(!)
and Fabian cuts his throat. Gabriela tells Mireya about the mask; nevertheless,
she manages to continue her faking in front of Fabian. Gabriela gives Antonio a
key. Valeria visits Alejandro to offer her condolences. Yolanda insults her, as
usual. Alejandro tells his mother he is leaving for good and does. Then her
husband leaves her, too. Tiburcio? tells Felipe he recognized the woman in the
car as the one who brought in a bloody pillow to the laundry and knows where
she leaves. He and Columba? go to the house and talk with the maid, learn the
pillow was found in the house of Silverio’s murderer; Adelina arrives. Héctor
sets up a meeting with Fabian. Ricardo proposes to Valeria but she puts him
off.
Meche and
Policarpo explain to Adelina that they were just inviting the maid to their
wedding, noticed the pillow and thought it would be nice to get something
similar for their home. Fabian finds Jose Antonio in his office and they fight;
JA escapres. Policarpo and Meche explain their suspicions to Gabriela and
Mireya. Then Gabriela, Mireya and Valeria talk with Isabel. They start putting
the pieces together: the bloody wedding gown, the bloody pillow, Sandra’s
lies. Isabel remembers that Octavio was
going to kick Adelina out of the house after finding her reading the will.
Mireya remembers the phone calls to San Antonio, Texas and Gabriela recalls
that Sandra was born there. Then Valeria recalls Norma’s comment, that she knew
Sandra but by a different name.
Meanwhile, Alejandro explains to Valeria what Rodolfo told
him and how it seemed to confirm the neighborhood gossip. She admits she made a
mistake but it was blown out of proportion. Later, she and Gabriela visit him
and ask if Norma ever mentioned Sandra. He recalls the event, gets out the
yearbook and Gabriela recognizes the picture of Sandra, with a different name.
They take the information to Ignacio. Gabriela recalls that Octavio was
estranged from his brother, only met his niece after his brother and wife died
in an accident. JA guesses that Sandra took the place of the real niece. Julia
tells them they need proof, just like the brooch and tells Gabriela the story.
She remembers something about a brooch and later talks with her mother who
recognizes it from the photo, says that Octavio had it. Then Meche looks at the
picture and says they used it in the costumes. While this is going on, Dalila
and Chula play a trick on Licha: give her a special, free sample of a new
shampoo. Licha discovers that her hair is falling out at the same time that she
learns that “her” Felipe is engaged to Dalila. Yolanda talks to the Padre who
advises her that sometimes love can smother. She remains unrepentant.
Fabian visits
Mari, sees the brooch in the acquarium; Mari gives it to him and he puts it in
his safe. Mari tells Gabriela and Julia. Antonio sees Sandra with a cassette,
later steals it and plays it for Ignacio, Gabriela and Julia: it is the tape
that records his murder of Octavio. Ignacio tells him it isn’t good enough,
could be denounced as a fraud. They need more proof. Adelina tells Sandra that
Octavio never really loved her, only felt guilty because of his brother. At the
office, the secretary tells Adelina that a travel agency called for a Sofia
Morales. Adelina calls the agency, learns that a ticket to Brazil was bought,
cancels it. She confronts Sandra in Fabian’s office. Sandra admits that she is
going to Brazil with Antonio. Adelina tells her she is a fool, that she
overheard Fabian denouncing Plutarco for not killing Antonio and letting him
escape, gets her to admit that she offered her stock in exchange for Antonio’s
freedom. Sandra asks her why she never loved her. Adelina tells her that she
isn’t her child, she was the daughter of a prostitute. Adelina adopted her to
pass her off as her daughter and, then, Octavio’s. It was she who killed the
real Sandra and her parents. Sandra is devastated, determined to get free.
Adelina comes at her with a knife; Sandra throws what must be acid or something
in Adelina’s face and escapes.
Gabriela asks
Fabian to put something of hers in a safe, watches the combination and later
gives it to Antonio. Hector gets the
money he demanded from Fabian, calls Adelina to tell her he has the tickets. He
finds a drink and love note from Adelina, falls down paralyzed after drinking
it. Adelina arrives, tells him she needs him alive, to confirm the information
she gave the police in a call, denouncing Fabian and Sandra for the murders of
Octavio and Silverio. She is sure that Héctor will turn on his cousin to save
his own life. She takes the key to the locker where the money is stashed, tears
up the tickets and leaves him. Julia and Ignacio greet Fabian and Gabriela at
the reception for the merger of the two companies. Julia tells Fabian she is
starting a new life, forgetting the past. He doesn’t believe her but doesn’t
suspect anything. Trini finds Antonio opening Fabian’s safe. The two fight but
Antonio wins, takes the brooch, and goes to the reception. At the reception,
Sandra confronts Fabian; he tells her that Adelina lied, that Antonio is
waiting for her. The show starts. While a video is being shown, Fabian gets a
note, goes to his office, finds another note and plays the tape recording. A
few minutes later, Sandra joins him in the office. Gabriel gives a signal. The
video changes to the scene of Fabian’s office. All hear them argue, see him
threaten Sandra, hear about Adelina. During the encounter, Sandra notices a
camera but says nothing, changes the conversation and gets Fabian to admit that
he killed Julia’s sister and Octavio. Sandra tells him that she truly loves
Antonio but that Gabriela doesn’t love him. He notices her gaze and discovers
the camera. Antonio leaves the reception and rushes into the office as Fabian
draws a gun on Sandra. Antonio goes to
her side and she steps in front of him just as Fabian shoots....and hits
Sandra. Yolanda prays for forgiveness.
GRAN FINAL. 11/16/01.
Gabriela, Ignacio, Julia enter the office. Fabian escapes and locks the
door. Sandra tells Gabriela and Antonio what she learned, says she knew Fabian
would kill her but it doesn’t matter, swears that she never killed anybody.
Gabriela forgives Sandra. She thanks Antonio for making her feel love and dies
in his arms. Valeria tells Alejandro about his father’s visit, offers to help
him care for his baby. Ricardo breaks up with Valeria, to give her a chance to
win back Alejandro. Fabian waits for Mireya and Gabriela in her car. Carmelo
and Talachas find Mireya on the garage floor. Alejandro asks Valeria for
another chance. Antonio hears about the kidnapping. Fabian drags Gabriela to
Sandra’s office after knocking out the watchman. Antonio calls Gabriela’s cell
phone; gagged, she plays the music box and Antonio guesses where she is while
Fabian is out of the office. She gets her hands free and when he returns hits
him over the head with a vase, escapes to the factory. Fabian follows, chases
around shooting his gun. Adelina buys a
ticket, gets the money from the locker, discovers that only a few bills are
real (the rest are cut up paper). Fabian captures Gabriela; then Antonio
appears. He and Fabian fight. Fabian falls into a saw but survives, minus his
right leg. The charges against Antoino are dropped. Valeria tells Dalila that
Alejandro doesn’t mind her continuing with the modeling. Gabriela visits
Rodolfo in jail, tells him she and her mother have forgiven him. Rodolfo swears
that he thought Fabian was a good match for her, learns that he raped her. He
becomes furious and begs her pardon. Antonio and Gabriela are married in
church. Trini holds down Fabian while Rodolfo has his companions rape him.
After the wedding, Yolando says goodbye to Alejandro and Valeria, tells them
she is sorry and is going to the U.S. to try to win back her husband. Valeria
forgives her. She is walking without a cane; it was a lie. Antonio and
Gabriela, in her wedding dress, address the workers of the company. Gabriela
tells them that Antonio is using part of his inheritance to pay for the
education of the children of all the workers. Antonio kisses Valeria, tells her
that the price of his love is one of her smiles.
