SINOPSIS

En el corazón de Rubí reina una lucha constante entre el deseo de toda mujer de encontrar el verdadero amor y una obsesión desesperada por el dinero. Si bien el destino le ha negado una buena situación económica, en cambio la ha favorecido con una extraordinaria belleza física, y Rubí está decidida a utilizarla para casarse con un hombre rico que le brinde la vida de lujos a la que aspira.

Rubí estudia en una universidad privada gracias a una media beca y al apoyo de su hermana Cristina, quien trabaja duramente para ayudar a su madre a sostener su hogar.

En la universidad, Rubí se hace amiga de Maribel, una chica millonaria, pero dulce y sencilla, a quien un accidente dejó discapacitada de una pierna. Maribel piensa que en Rubí ha encontrado, más que una amiga, una hermana, y la quiere sinceramente, sin saber que el afecto de Rubí está envenenado por la envidia.

Cuando la hermosa joven visita la mansión de su amiga, se convence de que esa es la clase de vida que ella merece, y hará lo que sea necesario para conseguirla.

Maribel, una joven tímida a causa de su defecto físico, pasa horas con su computadora conversando por Internet con un muchacho llamado Héctor, y poco después se hacen novios si haberse visto nunca. Cuando por fin se conocen en persona, Héctor supera la incapacidad de Maribel y le pide que se case con él. Maribel acepta, feliz y enamorada.

Héctor presenta a Rubí con su mejor amigo, un joven médico ortopedista llamado Alejandro, y también entre ellos nace un profundo amor. Maribel, al saberlo, siente que su dicha es completa. También Rubí es feliz, pues además de estar enamorada de Alejandro, piensa que por fin la vida le hará justicia cuando se case con un médico guapo, rico, y que además la adora. Es por ello que su decepción es inmensa cuando se entera de que la familia de Alejandro carece de fortuna.

Rubí tiene que elegir entre casarse con el hombre que ama y su desesperado anhelo de ser rica y, aunque sabe que tal vez nunca llegue a su vida otro amor como éste, rompe su compromiso.

Con el corazón destrozado, Alejandro se aleja de ella para siempre y se dedica en cuerpo y alma a su profesión. Ahora, Rubí está más decidida que nunca a casarse con un millonario, y para lograrlo está dispuesta a cometer la más vil de las traiciones: robarle a Maribel el amor de Héctor.

Sin embargo, aunque su sueño de lujos y riqueza se hace realidad al casarse con Héctor, Rubí tendrá finalmente que aprender una dolorosa lección: que la vanidad, el orgullo y la codicia son pecados terribles, y la justicia divina es implacable.

SUMMARIES FROM TELENOVELA-WORLD

FIRST WEEK SEPT. 20 – 24, 2004

USA, 9/20/04 - As Rubi walks away from the university, Paco talks to her and gives her a flower.

Rubi’s friend, the rich and lame Maribel, takes Rubi to her home. Rubi does not hide her envy, flirts with Maribel’s father and is rude to her aunt Pancha. Maribel and her father are oblivious, but Pancha isn’t. Maribel has very few friends because of her disability. Later, we hear some of the girls in a classroom making comments about Maribel’s disability.

In the barrio, Lola finds Cristina crying. She has lost her job but asks Lola not to tell her mother.

In her bedroom, Maribel tells Rubi about the young man, Héctor, with whom she is in love - but has never met. It is an internet romance. She has a picture of him, and he is quite handsome. He is also rich. His parents are dead, but his padrino has been managing things so well that his fortune has increased. Rubi admits that he is just the sort of man she wants for herself. Then Rubi looks at Maribel’s closet full of clothes and ends up with a new dress and earrings, courtesy of Maribel’s generous insistence (it didn’t take much).

In New York, Héctor makes a presentation and is praised afterwards by his boss Jaguar who tries to keep him in New York. But Héctor is determined to go to Mexico to be with Maribel. While he packs, he talks with his friend Alejandro about how he can’t wait to see Maribel, take her out to dinner, dancing, etc.

Back in México, we learn that Maribel has never told Héctor that she is lame.

Rubi becomes furious when she learns that Cristina has lost her job, reminds her that she is committed to paying half of her tuition fees (the part not covered by her scholarship). However, the next morning, when Rubi sees Cristina in a new dress made by her mother (quite unfashionable) for her to wear to work, Rubi spills hot coffee on Cristina’s back. Her mother knows she did it on purpose.

Cristina has no luck job-hunting. One man suggests that he needs proof she will be “compliant” and she tells him where he can go.

At the university, she is not allowed to take a test because she is behind on her fees. Her classmates tease her as she leaves the classroom.

During an argument in her home, Rubi lets slip the fact that Cristina has lost her job. Her mother becomes faint. Rubi swears to Cristina that she didn’t do it on purpose, doesn’t want her mother to be sick - but I have doubts. Later, Rubi’s mother suggests that she go to a public univierstiy. Rubi doesn’t hide her disdain (she in a public university?) or discontent from her mother, tells her that it is unfair that somebody with her looks can’t dress properly. She talks about all that Maribel, a “coja”, has. Her mother tells her, of course, that money isn’t everything, but Rubi knows otherwise.

Maribel gets a present from Héctor and news that he is coming to México. She tries to send him an internet message about her leg, but doesn’t have the courage.

The next day, Rubi and Maribel go to the airport. Back home, Pancha confesses to Maribel’s father that Héctor doesn’t know about Maribel’s disability. He becomes very worried.

At the airport, Alejandro and Héctor arrive and split up. As Héctor reaches the bottom of the escalator, he is greeted by Rubi.

We start with Maribel at her house agitated because her father asked Hector to stay and have a drink with him at the golf club. She is worried that he is taking so long. Pancha tells her not to worry and Maribel tells her how angry her father was at Hector because he was teaching her to golf. Pancha tells her it’s too dangerous to be doing those things and she could get hurt.

Alejandro drops Rubi at her house in his fancy car and gets the gossipy neighbors talking. Dolores goes running to find Cristina. Ale gives the place a look over and says “oh so you live here?” and Rubi asks if it bothers him, since he said money wasn’t important. He tells her it isn’t and she asks for the next date for her new agenda. Their faces are close and they look like they are going to kiss and he replies to her that in the car she told him she’d never go out with a poor guy and almost as his lips are ready to touch hers he tells her he’d never go out with anyone just interested in his money and he turns and leaves. Rubi is not amused. At this point Ale is gone and Cristina shows up and the sisters fight as Cristina insinuates that Rubi spent the night with him and not with this famous Maribel who they’ve never met. Rubi is furious and tells her she knows how to take care of herself and knows what she’s worth, she’s done nothing wrong. When mom finds them fighting in the hallway she sends them home and Rubi explains that Ale is a friend of Maribel’s boyfriend and again reiterates she’d never do anything to demean herself and goes to her room in a huff. Cristina tells mom that they have to put the stops on her. Mom says she knows Rubi is envious of all her rich friends but would never find a man just for his money…

Ale and Hector are talking and Hector asks if Ale is interested in Rubi. He says that he’s not sure but because of her incredible beauty she believes she deserves everything. Hector then says “so your NOT interested” and Ale says again he’s not sure.

Rubi is looking over the agenda that Ale gave her where he wrote for her that she should give him the qualities she is looking for in a man. She throws it across the room and says out loud that he’ll eat his works and fall crazy in love with her.

Maribel calls Hector concerned about what her Dad may have said to him and he said it wasn’t anything to be worried about and they’ll discuss it tomorrow. Hector then tells Ale that Maribels father is worried that he can’t handle and won’t want to deal with MAribels problem. All Hector wants to do is be there for her. He tells Ale about the accident where Maribel’s mom was killed and she found herself with this disability. She has had to have many many operations to get where she is today. Ale asks if more can be done. At this point my phone rang but I think Hector said that after so many operations her father left it where it is.

Rubi is telling her mom that its gossipy neighbors like Dolores that makes her want to not live where she does. She doesn’t care what they say. I’ll marry someone worth it she says. Her mom tells her to finish school first and then find a good, honorable, hard working man who loves her for who she is. Rubi says she knows the kind of man she wants.

The Blonde friend (I don’t know her name) is fighting with Ingrid for going after Saul, the guy she likes. They argue and Ingrid, who is pretty rude, says Saul would never go for her.

Hector arrives at his padrinos house and they are very excited to see him. They say his parents would be so proud of him. The padrinos say they love him like a son. We find that his parents died when he was very young and he went to live with the padrinos. They are very excited to meet Maribel and he’ll set up a meeting.

Maribelk and Rubi are walking and Maribel is excited because Hector is coming to pick her up. Did Ale say anything to Hector about me Rubi asks and Maribel tells her that they didn’t really spend anytime talking about them.

Ale is at Dr. Bermudez’ office looking for a job. An emergency happens and Ale is advised that the doctor can’t attend to him and they will have to reschedule. As Ale is walking through the hospital he sees so many injured and jumps right in to help. One of the attending doctors doesn’t want to take his orders and as they argue, Dr. Bermudez sees them and asks who the Diablo he thinks he is. Ale explains he’s there for a job and the doctor says he can help but under his supervision.

Hector is telling his padrinos he doesn’t really have plans to return to NY but he did leave that possibility open. He’s thinking of opening his own office. The madrina says but now that you’ve proven yourself in NY you can work for your padrinos office without anyone saying it is favoritism. When he retires you’ll get the office. They ask about Ale and Hector advises them he is doing well as a doctor.

Maribel is talking to all the girls about her great love for Hector and how it makes her feel. Rubi doesn’t really care about this and Luis walks by and she leaves with him to sell tickets to the cocktail party the next day.

Hector and Ale are at the school to find Maribel. While there we see Rubi at the football field with the players selling them tickets by flirting and telling them if they buy enough maybe she’ll dance with them. Saul says he’ll buy plenty for a kiss. She walks away to the fence where Victor is standing and she asks in a flirty voice how many he’ll buy and he smiles.

Next Rubi is walking and Saul comes up to her and asks for his kiss, he’ gets very very pushy and she has to defend herself. At this point Ale shows up and a fight starts between Ale and Saul. Saul’s friends pull him off and Rubi thanks Ale (who has blood in the corner of his mouth) for defending her. She gets up close to him like she is going to kiss him as she wipes his lip. She says they will probably be seeing each other more frequently now because of the relationship with Hector and Maribel and he doesn’t have to feel obligated to be put up with her and then walks away without kissing him. He looks on and realizes she just dished out the same thing he did the other night.

As Cristine heads out on her job search Dolores and the mom (Refugio) see each other and after Cris leaves Refugio tells Dolores in no uncertain terms to mind her own beeswax.

Rubi sees Paco and says now that she’ll be taking the test she’ll need his notes. Then see says she’ll see him at the cocktail tomorrow. He’s yet to buy a ticket because he too is poor but he goes off and buys one.

Hector and Maribell are talking about how she misses her mom and he tells her he misses his parents too. She thinks her mom would understand better her relationship with Hector. Hector says he’ll win the confidence of her father. Rubi is looking on and then they ask Ale what happens to his face and Rubi says that Saul was coming on to her and Ale stopped him.

Refugio is in the hallway and grabs her chest then her head and luckily Dolores sees her.

As Rubi is standing with Ale, Hector and Maribel they ask her to go to eat with them but she sees Paco and runs off with him to study (trying to make Ale jealous).

Refugio asks Dolores to keep her secret and not tell her daughters about her attack. Dolores promises to keep her secret but she has to go to doctor. Refugio says they don’t have money and Dolores says she’s even poorer but will accompany her when the time comes.

Rubi is with Paco and he’s got a motorcycle that won’t start. Ingirid and others come by and start to make fun. The guys push the bike and you can see Rubi is embarrassed and angry. Once at Paco’s he invites her in but she says shes decided to study at home and she’ll wait in the hallway while he gets the notes. She looks around where he lives and speaks disparagingly of it in her head.

Hector and Maribel say its too bad Ale and Rubi didn’t join them for lunch. Hector is sure Ale likes Rubi. Maribel hopes they can be a couple.

Cristina is excited although she hasn’t found a job because she finally got her severance pay from the old one. She was talking ot her old boss about a job possibility and they paid her the owed money. Dolores with her big mouth say that is good so that way they can take Refugio to the doctor. Cristina asks if she was sick again and Dolores say no.

Maribel says she’ll talk to her dad about going to the padrinos house to meet them. She is so happy with Hector she tells him. I don’t just have a boyfriend but everything any woman could want.

Rubi is advising Cris that Maribel has been invited to the house and willcome. She also puts Maribel’s phone number in the book so they can call Maribel when need be. Cris says that if Rubi does nothing wrong she also shouldn’t do good things that look bad. Rubi says the same way Cris does what she has to by killing herself at work everyday, that she does the same by working hard at school. Although she’ll have to give up school without the money to pay it. It is obvious she has not told her family that Maribel’s dad is paying for her schooling. Cris tells her about the severance money and gives Rubi a chunk of money to pay for school. Mom is looking on in secret and is very happy when the sisters hug.

We see Rubi at the store with the blonde girl looking for a dress for the cocktail party. The blonde girl asks for Rubi’s help in making herself more attractive. She likes Rubi’s dress but mentions it’s a bit expensive. Rubi tells her beauty costs.

Mom is sewing while Cris tells her about he job her former boss offered that is without any benefits. It’s like working free lance for commission and no benefits. Rubi arrives and mentions the cocktail and asks permission to go since it is being put on by the alumni association. Her mom says yes. She tells them that while she was with Maribel to help her pick out a dress (LIE) that Maribel bought her this pretty red dress (LIE). They are amazed by how nice it is.

Hector arrives and sees Ale still working. He gives him a ticket to the cocktail and he asks if it was from Rubi. Hector said no, from him and Maribel but he should go anyway.

Paco shows up at Rubi’s house uninvited and her mom invites him in. As he goes to shake her hand he spills the drinks on the table. He’s very clumsy, Rubi looks on and laughs. He’s says her forgot to give Rubi some diagrams for the test and he drops them everywhere. Her mom invites him to stay for dinner and Rubi gets irritated and goes to her room to study. She’s rude but he stays chatting with the mom and sis anyway.

Rubi tells Maribel that she’ll be taking the exam as planned. Maribel mentions that Ale was irritated to see her with Paco. Rubi says she doesn’t want Ale to feel obligated to spend time with her because of the relationship with her and Hector. Maribel laughs and says that isn’t the case. Rubi said if he’s interested great if not that is ok too.

We are introduced to Marco (played by Jan). He is working in the hospital as a doctor and runs into Ale who is happy to see him, they are old friends. He is surprised when Ale says he’s working with Bermudez, he’s a tough cookie.

Saul catches up to Rubi, he gives her a hard time. You want me like all the other girls. Rubi says I’m not just all the other girls. He forces a kiss on her and she asks if he is done? She laughs at the way he kisses her and he fumes as people look on.

Refugio is at the doctor with Dolores and the doctor tells her that her pressure is too high and she has too much shortness of breath. It has been going on too long. She must take her medicine and rest or she is really at risk of having a heart attack. Now Dolores and Refgio are walking through the hallway of the neighborhood and Ref says the medicine was very expensive. I don’t think she bought it.

Cris is a the next place looking for a job. Even though she has the qualifications they won’t give her the accounting job because she doesn’t have a degree.

Ale is at Rubi’s front gate and looking for her as she walks up behind him. He says he got a ticket for the cocktail but is she interested in having him there. All of a sudden they hear Dolores screaming Refugio’s name and Rubi runs to her Mom who is passed out in her arms.

Act One/

Marco and Alejandro leave Rubis apartment. Maribels father tells her that he wont go with her to her to the godparents of Hector's house because he grows a brain overnight and finally realizes shes old enough go and do whatever she wants to. Rubi is telling Cristina not to worry about the medical bill because her paycheck is pure garbage and they cant even pay the phone. Hector calls New York accepts the job there. Maribel visits Rubi's house and meets her mother. She tells her what a beautiful pattern she sewed and she said shed keep it as a momento for her mother. Refugio tells her shes very kind and giving. She then shows Maribel a photo album of when she was younger , with her Rubis father, and Rubi tells Maribel that she only remembers a little bit of him and he only gave her that Medallion she always wears. ((She would probably die with it...lol)) Maribel asks permission to take Rubi with her this weekend and Refugio gives in. Cristina meets Cayetano outside of the vecindad. He says he didnt know that Rubi had such a nice sister....As theyre walking out Rubi tells Maribel shes gonna need knew clothes, bikini, hats. ((((OMG, FREELOADER)))) Thats when Cristina and Lola interrupts and Lola pushes Rubi and says so youre Maribel. Rubi pushes her back. Alejandro calls his parent to tell them he got a job already . ((surprise hes middle class as they show his home. Looks like the style of the houses in Puerto Rico)).

Later, Rubi at the mall. She gets mad because this sexy Red Bikini costs too much. She walks over to the jewlery shop, and sees Hector and tells him she'll help him pick a ring, because Maribel and her have the same taste ((which in rubis language translates to, I like you and your wallet....alot))

Act Two/

Hector drives Rubi home from the mall and Dona Lola and another lady says "diffrent men everyday?" Inside her house, Rubi is about to pack but her mother asks her if shes still jealous of Maribel? Rubi says , of course, but not as much because shes prettier, healthy, and has found the love of her life. In Maribels house Hector tells Maribel if shed love to live with him in New York? She says shed follow him anywhere. Later Alejandro calls Rubi at Lolas to ask if shes coming along. She says she wouldnt miss it.

Act Three/

(((I'm making this one brief because I only taped certain parts)))

Everyone gets installed in the house, Everyone meets Hectors Parents and Pancha Maribels shadow also came along because Maribel cant live her own life for herself. (((oh god)))

Later as the four of them get on the ski boat.....Maribel trips while trying to get aboard the boat and Rubi rolls her eyes and then later acts concerned. Hector jumps in to save her, and Alejandro checks her since hes a medic.

Act Four/

As Pancha and Hectors Madrina are talking they bust through the door with Maribel in Hector's arms and Pancha asks why shes crying they take her to the bed and all are concerned and offer her support. Alejandro says he needs a minute alone with her to check her. She tells him that shes ruined everything for everyone because of her condition...Alejandro consoles her and tells her Hector is really in love with her. Pancha tells Rubi not to walk around in her Bikini and Rubi says dont worry im after Alejandro. Then laughs walks away. Alejandro comes downstairs and tells Pancha she can see her now. Elisa is concerned because she doesnt want Genaro to see Maribel not walking....Rubi runs into Hector out in the garden (((snake vivora theme .... TSSSSSS))) and Rubi hugs him for consolement about Maribel. Pancha sees this.

Act Five/

Pancha says that he can now go see Maribel. Pancha says she better respect. Rubi tells her not to think so badly. Then she asks her to rub suntan lotion on her and she gets pissed and walks away while Rubi laughs. Hector tells Alejandro he'll give her the ring tonight to make her feel better. Lola tells Cristina she never got married because she never found the love. She tries to matchmake Cristina and Marco. Alejandro rubs suntan lotion on Rubi (((sexy jazzy theme))). They kiss. Meanwhile Elisa sees Hectors ring to Maribel and is happy hes going to stay but he says no, hes moving to New York..Elisa feels sad but says yes., move on with your life. Pancha tells Maribel to always look her best for Hector. Maribel says 'so glad your here, no one takes care of me better than you'. As night falls, there is a fireplace with a fire roaring and candles everywhere. Hector brings down Maribel here, as he steps away for a moment, Elisa comes and brings them another candle and says "its good you support him for his job in New York...." Maribel didnt know this. Meanwhile with Alejandro and Rubi, theyre having dinner and decide to start over after their bad first impression of eachother. Alejandro says, i know your family, where you live, would you like to know mine? Rubi says she'd love to but she already knows enough about him. He asks her if shed love him the same if he had no money? (((uh oh, big mistake))))

Maribel and Hector start planning for their wedding. When Rubi comes over to look at magazines with Maribel, she has a conversation with Maribel's father about Alejandro. He makes comments to the effect that Alejandro has come a long way in his career despite his financial situation. Rubi finds out Alejandro is not from a wealthy affluent backround like Hector. She is distraught and leaves to go find Alejandro. Alejandro found an apartment close to the hospital where he is working. As he standing outside his modest new address, happy and smiling Rubi comes up to him very confrontational. They argue and Rubi reveals to him that even though she fell in love with him he cannot provide the kind of life she desires. She makes him feel guilty for making her believe he was rich like Hector. She breaks up with him tossing a cheap bracelet he gave her to his face. Back home her mother notices something is wrong. She tries comfort her daughter but also questions her breakup with Alejandro. Rubi wants to be left alone and they begin to argue. In the heat of the argument Rubi admits to her mother the reason why she cannot be with Alejandro. Her mother is digusted and they get into a heated argument that results in Rubi's mother becoming very ill, she falls to the floor and has to be taken to the hospital. At the hospital Rubi and her sister are confronted with a hospital bill they cannot afford. Hector offers to pay everything. Rubi and Hector are alone in the hall way, Rubi expresses her gratitude, she tells him she doesnt know what she would have done without him, she hugs him and tells him she has never felt so supported. (in Spanish it sounds better). As she is in Hector's arms Alejandro walks by and sees them. He stops dead in his tracks.

Those were the main scenes in last nights episode. I hope I covered everything,

No, but they were so close!. She actually made a comment about that to Alejandro when they were arguing, she told him "I can't believe what almost happened last night!". I think that was kind of funny that the writers did not have them sleep together. I thought a girl like Rubi would have taken that "oportunity" because she is so evil and try to get pregnant by him.

Rubi realizes that she still loves Alejandro. Rubi is embarrased by her mother and sister. Rubi is jealous of all the gifts Maribel receives. Bermudez begins his revenge on Alejandro. Cristina admits to Cayetano that she loves him. Rubi encourages Maribel to see Alejandro to get theraphy on her leg and a grateful Arturo pays for her studies. Refugio becomes ill when she learns the gift that Arturo gave to Rubi. Alejandro decides to give a speech at the university about disabilities. Alejandro accompanies Marco when he revises Refugio. Alejandro admits to Rubi that he still loves her and she lets her guard down. Cayetano asks Cristina out on a date. Hector asks his friend what he feels for Rubi and Alejandro admits that he can't see her with any other man. Hector is tormented and decides to leave Rubi. Refugio slaps her daughter. Rubi meets the count but he ignores her. Naty keeps going after Paco. Rubi thanks Alejandro and thanks him for his help with Hector. Rubi learns that Sonia told Hector about Yago and decides to confront her. Celia let's Rubi in Alejandro's house and confronts Sonia. They argue and when Sonia walks away she falls through the walkway where she is instantly killed. Rubi tries to help her but Celia tells her she's dead.

Carla witnesses the accident and is taken to the park so no one will think Sonia was alone. She gives Carla a broach and visits Loreto and tells him she didn't kill Sonia, that it was an accident. Alejandro arrives to see his wife lying lifeless on the ground and runs to her side. Cradling her Alejandro tells Ignacio that his wife is dead. Maribel learns of her friend's death and consoles Alejandro. Rubi threatens Celia. At Sonia's funeral Maribel informs Alejandro that his wife was three weeks pregnant at the time of his death and ALejandro is destroyed that both his wife and child are dead. Luis tells Paco that Lorena is in town. Rubi wants to recover the broach she gave Carla because if Alejandro sees it he'll know that she was with Sonia when she died. Marco gives Cristina her engagement ring. Rubi thinks she can recover Alejandro now that he's a widower. Rubi learns that Sonia was pregnant when she died.

Maribel becomes furious at Rubi. Loreto sees Cayetano. Loreana and Paco come face to face. Jorge tells Rubi that the two deaths that have ocurred have been because of her doing but that she will soon reconcile with Alejandro but in order for it to be lasting she has to change. Elisa's confused of her feelings for Arturo and then kisses Genaro. Rubi tells Loreto she's going to change. Naty's obsessed with Paco. Genaro turns down Arturo's offer and tells him he's going to fight for Elisa. Paco kisses Lorena and she slaps him. Loreto tells Rubi that he saw Cayetano and she plans to tell Cristina. First sents him to jail for something he did not do..second loses the love of her life, who is getting married to another…and third, he never knew his daughter….Rubi tells him that there is still time that Christina is not married yet…cayetano tells her why is he going to fix the mistakes that she made in the past?

. Rubi is with Hector and tells him that for some reason she cannot use her credit cards, or her bank account. Hectos lies to her and tells her that he misplaced his wallet with all these information in it and he cancelled all that was outstanding. Rubi tells him that he can get new cards for her and everything will be fine..and he said, no since things are very tight he will prefer to give her all that she needs..he will pay for everything himself. That she will still get all she wants and needs, he will see to it… Rubi tells him that she is leaving and he wants to know where, and she said that she is going to see her niece fernandita, hector tells her that he wants to go also, since he doesn’t know her. You can tell rubi is not happy that he is coming with. (he thinks, where were you really going , if I had not come with?

Fernandita and Lola are playing with a ball..there is a knock at the door, it is hector and rubi, Lola tells her that she knows Christina doesn’t want her close to her daughter. But Fernandita runs to Rubi and hugs her, she is bringing her a present. Hector notices that rubi loves Fernandita a lot and tells her that this is how their children will look like when they have some. She smiles but her eyes say something else. Hector tells Lola that even if there are problems between the sisters, Fernandita is rubins niece and that families should stick together. Maribel asked him if the baby had been his, would he had married Rubi..and he said no because she has lied so much, he cannot trust her ever again. they hugged and then she leaves.

Elena cures Hector's cuts and bruises...she asked who was the woman who left crying, and he tells her the woman he left at the altar. to marry rubi..

Elena is sad, she says that the tears in her eyes are of a woman in love that maybe she is still in love with him. She said, no she was just crying because of the fights between Ale and Hector. That she is a very sensitive woman. Elena tells him those tears are not of worry but out of lovem that maybe she is sad because he is having a baby with rubi..that is enough sadness to cry. Hector asked her, are those the feelings of maribel or elenas? Elena tells him that she could compete with Rubi, but if there is a baby in the way, she is not going to interfere. Hector tells her that he never gave her any hopes that even if there was not a baby in the middle he would never be unfaithful to Rubi. Ale confessed to his father that his feelings for maribel are mixed feelings...his dad says is normal, they have been friends forever, and maybe that pure friendship may end up in love. Ale stays there thinking about this.

Nataly goes to visit Lorena and she asked for forgiveness for trying to keep Paco for herself and not give her the message about the party she had for him at her house..and for not showing up, and seh had been so upset....

Eliza confessed to Genaro that she would be happy if hector would leave rubi for helena.

well rubi was flirting with a plumer so he can let her out but he couldnt because shrek the body guard keep a real close eye on her. hectors madrina got married and hector went to the wedding really dramatic and hector told maribell that he is sorry for everything (very corny) and maribell being the good little UGGGGGGGGGG that she is told him its ok and maribell and ale love each other all of a suden. Well that is about it.

Rubi is in in the park with Loreto and Onesimo, who wants them out of there quick before Hector comes..Loreto and rubi give him money to take a taxi...Hector having problems with his back goes in search or rubi when he did not see the bodyguard outside her door...he only finds the men gagged in the room, he is so upset starts screaming to the man that he is an imbecile that let his wife escape out of the house. He calls the rest of the help and screams that his wife is gone, to go search for her....Rubi manages to escape. Hector is screaming with all his might rubis name...he looks demented ....

Rubi with Loreto in a restaurant are talking about alejandro...rubi tells him that alejandro and the handicapped girl are going steady and that she knew the baby was alejandros that is why whe is trying to come between them...also that hector knows the baby is not his that is why he had her kidnapped in her own house.

Loreto is really worried, if hector sees rubi with him he will ki ll him, that is why he said no to rubi going to his home with him..he knew it would be the first person he would check with..since hector was told that the handyman came with someone else..who looked a little gay...hector knew right away it was loreto.

Rubi wants to go see ale at the hospital, loreto doesnt think is a very good idea..hector would go straight there first. And of course with his bodyguards he goes there first...Marco gives ale his cellular since he is worried that some of his patients may be trying to get in touch with him, ale listens to rubis message, where she tells him that the baby is hers, and that hector has her locked up in her own home. Ale is thinking and talks to marco about this...oh, rubi also tells ale that it was hector who tried to poison him. Marco tells ale that he confronted hector also, since he had been in the hospital at the same time ale had been poisoned, and that hector reacted like he knew what happened and did not denied this.

Hector comes in the room at the same time and tells them he did not poisoned ale. Maribel walks in and realizes what is going on, and tells them that she is sure hector would not do a thing like that. tells hector to please leave. When ale talks about rubi hector thinks she had been there, ale told him no..she left me a message in my cellular... Hector tells them to investigate him all they want that he is inocent. Hectors denies that rubi was kidnapped by him, that she was there because she may lose the baby..Maribel asked hector to please leave, ale is in no condition to be upset right now. Maribel doesnt like that ale eventually ends up talking about rubi, she tells him that maybe all she said was a lie, that she would do anything to get him back, and lying is one of her best virtues.

He meets genaro in the hospital who is screaming at home acusing him of poisoning ale, he tells him that the last person who he would think would not believe him would be his own father.

Ignacio comes and talks to genaro, once hector is gone.

Cayetano walks in and to his surprise finds there Lola..who tells all she only came back because cayetano begged her to come back.i And that Onesimo was acting like a hero because he said he had rescue a pretty and very rich woman from her husband.

Cayetano asked him if he was successful, and lola asked..so it was true? Shetells him that he is her heroe..they are ready to go out and celebrate with the money rubi gave him, when there is a knock at the door.

It is rubi who is surprised to see onesimo there...She asked cayetano if she can please stay there with them, he doesnt seem please, and do not believe her stories. He told her that of course noone likes to be unable to go and come and they pleased..or be locked up. rubi tells cayetano that he is married to christiha thanks to her..but he said, yes, but my daughter doesnt know who i am because of you. Lola asked her how it feels to be locked up, that she deserved that. Hector knocks andtells cayetano that he is taking rubi with him...cayetano told him..no, if she doesnt want to go, she will not go with him. hector calls his lawyer, and asks if there is anyway he can make rubi leave her sisters house and go with him...he told him that she cannot make rubi leave any place and go with him, just because he says so.

Maribel talks with Ale and asked him why he is still worried about rubi, since he questioned hector about rubis phone call...that he knows how good rubi is making up stories..is she still in his thought? ale tells her that he doesnt feel the same thing as before for rubi, to drop the subject, that the did not liked either that she had gone to see hector to confront him about what happened to ale, and to find out if he was guilty.

Bermudez ltells Ernesto to accept Ales offer to help him with his career. this way he would be closer to ale...ernesto said he would do it.

Ales father talks to hector and wonders if hector was the one who poisoned ale, since his parents did the same thing. hectors father was a very, very jealous husband, and kidnapped his wife, and ended killing her, and killing himself. He could see that hector was acting exactly the same way...he should take him to a psychiatrist to see if this behavior was in his genes...Genaro doesnt think this is what is happening with Rubi and Hector. (but if we all look at hectors eyes when he is very upset, dementia seems to be there...)

Rubi and Cristina talk about the baby she is expecting, christina did not know she was pregnant...christina asked her, if hector was so very upset because he knew the baby was not his...Rubi tells her that yes, the baby was ale...christina asked if she went looking for him when they met at the beach, and she said, no it just happened...and that they had the most beautiful honeymoon there...and that is why hector is so upset. Rubi calls genaro to ask for his help, will he go see hector and talk to him, she wanted a divorce. Tells him that hector had kidnapped her...

Rubi wants to see ale really bad, and takes onesimo with her..she wants to tell him that the baby is his...

Hector is in the office and elena comes in, she said she is so sorry she thought he had poisoned ale, but what could she think since he had gone to his house with a gun to kill him? He was heartbroken since he figured elena would be the last person to think badly of him. she asked for his forgiveness but he is very upset with her,.

Genaro goes to talk with Hector and tells him that he is worried about him because his father was the same way he was with rubi, he did not tell him that he had killed her and killed himself..jsut that he had kidnapped her and would not let her go out, but that his mother was a very good woman..so he had no reason for been so jealous, that he was a sick man. hector told him that he was not the same way, that rubi was at fault for him for been jealous, that she was just his, and she would get her back. that she is expecting his baby, and their marriage would be forever and ever. (he really doesnt want anyone to know the baby is not his...mm..) When rubi goes to the hospital to see ale, they tell her he is not there..and she said..if maribel told you to say that..she said,no...he is at home..rubi said already? the nurse told her that he went out of his own accord...

Karla e Ignacio leave becaue they have a dinner date...Maribel and ale are together, they want to get a movie and see it together...they are kissing when rubi comes in and sees them. Her face show how her surprise and disgust...her ale was kissing maribel and seemed to be enjoying it....

Rubi, the beautiful rubi has lost her man because she cannot make up her mind...money over love? love over money? alejandro has lots of money now so she thought now she could have it all...mmm...

I have tuned in and out of Rubi since I have class on T&Th evening. Has Ingrid really changed or is she just trying to steal Paco? How did Paco go from loving Lorena to kissing Ingrid? I understand that they had problems (e.g. him wanting to get married) but I do not know what happened. Also, what is the storyline about her not wanting to work? I thought at the beginning of the novela we saw that her mom was the type to only stay home and she did not like that. Then I thought Paco mentioned that she refused to work.

Also, what is the storyline on El Conde and the girl that looked like Maribel? He mentioned someone that he loved that looked like her but had the attitude of Rubi? I am confused here. I thought he wanted to marry Maribel to inherit Arturo's brokerage house.

She's not trying to steal paco, she loves him, but decided to step off to let them be happy.

The conde said to Rubi tonight that she would never make her the Contessa, that if he wanted a wife to be Contessa it would be Maribel. It shows the conflict between the two girls for the Conde. He said that other woman looked like Maribel but acted like Rubi....he likes Rubi's personality and toughness but Rubi is not an acceptable wife or partner...she's only lover material LOL...TRAMP

To elaborate a bit moreon the Paco/Lorena/Ingrid triangle...there have been a few nights where Paco has to work late and lazy, non-working Lorena hasn't been supportive but yet Ingrid would help Paco with his work or make him a pot of coffee, just to be nice, I don't think she was being bad by doing it. She was just trying to pitch in for them being so nice for letting her live there. Lorena isn't too bright, you need to bring something to the relationship other than just a cute face.
