SUMMARIES FROM THE U.S.A.

     10/8-12/01.

          10/8 - Primero capítulo. In Caracas, Maria Clara keeps her mother, a seamstress, from discovering that her sister Andrea was out all night. Her mother worries about her working all day and studying at night, wishes she didn’t have to. Andrea has spent the night with Eduardo and received an expensive ring but doesn’t plan to see him again: he isn’t rich enough and is married. She tells Andrea she was with friends and is keeping the ring for one of them. Maria Clara is planning for her wedding to Carlos Raúl in 20 days. He, however, is worried because he has no money and owes a lot. Then his boss, Sr. Vargas, lays him off (as well as others). He decides he must go to Miami to make his fortune and tells Maria Clara that they can’t marry yet. He promises to send for her in 5 or 6 months. He calls his friend Florencio in Miami who invites him to stay with him. When CR arrives, Florencio has arranged for him to work as a mechanic in a shop owned by his friend Oscar. In Caracas, MC’s mother has a heart attack climbing the stairs (the elevators don’t work).

     In Miami, Alejandro’s abuela tells him he works too hard, should find a woman, marry and have 500 children. But Alejandro’s love, Silvana, died in an accident when he was driving (he was paying attention to her and not the road; he was thrown clear, she burned in a fiery crash). He calls his sister Bárbara, riding at their ranch, to tell her he has bought a yacht. Returning from her ride, Bárbara finds her novio Braulio Vilorio in a passionate clinch with her best friend Amarilas. She hits Amarilas with her horse whip and orders them both off of her ranch. “Nobody makes fun of her.”

     Bárbara has hired CR to work as a valet during the day and a pianist at night. He is surprised when she kisses him. MC’s boss at the supermercado propositions her and when she refuses he fires her. Amarilas meets a rich millionaire whom she is sure will change her life. In a jail, the prima of Bárbara and Alejandro tells a cellmate that she can’t ask her cousins for help. Victoria sees her son Reinaldo off to somewhere, worries that he may one day discover she has is the mistress of a married man. CR tells Florencio that he loves MC but that he also really likes Bárbara and knows that she can help him achieve his dreams. Braulio, angry at the beating that CR gave him, arranges with a friend to hurt him but doesn’t do much damage. MC writes to CR that her mother Teresa died. He writes back and lies, says that he is having trouble finding work. 6 months pass and his letters have become less frequent. He is spending more and more time with Bárbara who has promoted him to the head of public relations, bought him clothes, etc. MC’s madrina tells her to go to Miami, help him. Bárbara tells Melisa that at first she was using CR to make Braulio jealous but now she realizes that she is in love with him. CR recieves a letter from MC: she is arriving the next week.  Bárbara announces her engagement to CR to her friends. Erasno, who lost the woman he loved 20 years ago, warns Victoria not to talk with the gym employee Luciano in her office because of the talk: he is her lover. Braulio hears about the wedding and teases Bárbara about marrying a muerto de hambre. CR asks Florencio to keep his secret, to meet Maria Laura at the airport. He is engaged to marry both women; insists he really loves Maria Clara but can’t give up Bárbara. He has arranged an apartment for her. Then he goes to a yacht party with Bárbara and she wonders at his distraction. On the flight to Miami, Maria Clara meets Carmen Izibañes.Andrea tells her madrina Coralia that she wants her to leave the house, doesn’t need her, has an expensive apartment paid for by her millionaire lover. Coralia slaps her and leaves. MC arrives at the airport but can’t find CR. Eventually, Florencio turns up with a weak excuse about CR and takes her to his house. CR finally arrives, makes excuses, tells MC a friend loaned him a house for her but he will live with friends. She accepts it. They make love in her new home. Bárbara calls him the next morning and reprimands him for missing the party the night before; he says Florencio was sick. She demands to see him; he visits Florencio and tells him he is determined to end it with Bárbara. Erasmo tells his niece Elisa that he is going to Caracas to find the woman he left 20 years before; Victoria advises him not to. Vilma, Lisandro’s cousin, calls him and says she is coming to Miami for a long visit. Andrea tells Diego she loves him; he tells her he knows she doesn’t but doesn’t mind. She tells him she wants to marry him. Later, she says something and he doesn’t answer. He is dead. She takes the jewels and goes home, scared. The police will never believe she didn’t rob him. Meanwhile, Coralia remembers the secret Teresa told her and the promise she made to her if she should die. She doesn’t know what to do. At home Andrea, reads the news of Diego’s death. The police consider it suspicious and know that he was with a woman. Luciano calls Victoria at home; she hangs up when her son Braulio enters the room.

     10/15-19/01. Prudencia invites Victoria to the party at which Bárbara will announce her wedding date but Victoria doesn’t think it is wise because of Braulio. Amado sees Luciano kissing Victoria. Later, he assures her he will say nothing. Braulio is furious when he learns from Reinaldo about the party. He goes to it and makes a scene. Maria Clara waits at home for CR, writes a letter to her madrina. Braulio makes a scene; Victoria and Reinaldo arrive, take him home. Luna tells Alfonso/Turco that CR is going to break off the wedding with Bárbara. The next day, Lisandro finds CR eating with Maria Clara. He introduces her as an old friend who has just come to Miami. Florencio meets Luna, Bárbara. When Bárbara asks him if CR has a girlfriend back home, he hems and haws, says that he was in love but that she died. Maria Clara asks CR why he lied. He says that Lisandro is a gossip and changes the conversation. Braulio swears to Reinaldo that he will get back at CR. Erasmo warns Victoria to end her relationship with Luciano who is not only younger but married. She says she can’t. Lisandro thinks about Maria Clara, then of his dead fiancee. He tells his abuela about his meeting with her and CR. She can’t believe that CR could have lied but Lisandro is worried and later questions CR who assures him that MC is merely a friend. Elisa takes a call for Amado from a woman who tells him that she will be arriving shortly in Miami. Luciano tells Victoria he needs money; she writes him a check. The police question Andrea about the jewels and she insists she knows nothing. When her madrina is cleaning the kitchen, she finds a case but doesn’t open it, asks Andrea what is in it but Andrea doesn’t answer. Juliana, a neighbor, introduces herself to Maria Clara, talks with her, tells her all men are unfaithful. She knows: she’s had 3 husbands. Meanwhile, CR is making love to Bárbara. That night, Bárbara announces the date of their wedding to her family. CR tells Florencio that all his problems are due to MC, she should never have come to Miami. Florencio reprimands him, tells him he’s acting like a child, as if Bárbara had forced him into the relationship. Amado demands money from Victoria in exchange for his silence; she writes a check. MC calls her madrina who senses that something is wrong. That night, MC tells CR maybe it would be better for her to go back home. He tells her he doesn’t want her to leave.Then he calls Bárbara to call of the wedding; she insists on going to his apartment. So he runs out on MC. When Bárbara arrives, he tells her he is too poor for her, of a different class, etc. She insists that it doesn’t matter, that she loves him. They make love. Andrea asks a friend to sell the jewels for her. Her madrina is shocked when she finds the money; Andrea says that she is going to Miami to join her sister. MC tells CR that she is going back to Venezuela; he insists that she stay, so she does. Bárbara tries on her wedding dress. CR tells Florencio, who has met a new woman, that the wedding is on but he can’t give MC up. Florencio tells him he has no principles and leaves. Juliana helps MC get a job in the same boutique where Bárbara is buying her wedding dress. CR is angry when he hears that she has gotten a job. Vilma, the woman we saw in an earlier episode who took a man to a room, drugged him and stole from him is the same woman who called Amado. She runs into the man at a travel agency but escapes from him before he can have her arrested. MC sees the back of CR talking to Bárbara outside the shop, mentions it to him but he says he isn’t marrying anybody but her. Coralia convinces Andrea to take her with her to Miami. Elisa sees Amado kissing Vilma and the two women fight. Erasmo tells Amado he will pay for betraying his niece. For some reason, Andrea insists that she and Coralia register in an expensive hotel. At the pool, Andrea runs into Lisandro, sees CR and Bárbara, drags Coralia out and run into Luna who tells them that the woman is Bárbara CR’s novio. Andrea creates Coralia from making a scene. Lisandro tells ____ he can’t stop thinking of Maria Clara. Andrea advises Coralia not to tell MC until they have firm proof. Lisandro runs into Andrea again and invites her for a drink; she says that she is the widow of a rich man who is in Miami for a vacation. Vilma tells Amado she has set her sights on Lisandro. Victoria is jealous when Luciano’s wife Pierina visits him and kisses him; she demands that he leave her but relents when he says he can’t, so they must part. Bárbara asks MC to make changes to her wedding gown; they both wax poetic about the men they love. Bárbara and her abuela encourage Lisandro to form a couple with Vilma. Coralia suggests that MC visit CR at work. Braulio plans to steal Bárbara’s wedding dress. CR goes to church and begs forgiveness for deceiving MC. Coralia takes MC to the hotel in the hopes of catching CR with Bárbara. Andrea calls Lisandro. MC is sure that Coralia is wrong, CR works in a restaurant, not a hotel. In the hotel, she asks Luna where CR works and introduces MC as his novia. The three go to the restaurant again; Luna doesn’t tell her the truth and MC insists she must leave to go to work. On leaving the restaurant, they see CR getting out of a woman’s car.

     10/22-26/01. Coralia tells MC she shouldn’t confront CR until they know more or he will just deny everything. Florencio tells CR that MC was in the hotel. Lisandro tells Andrea, who pretends to be rich, he has no plans to fall in love. MC confronts CR who says the woman was just a friend from work. She believes him. MC is thrilled when her pregnancy is confirmed. MC’s associate at work cuts up Bárbara’s wedding dress to get rid of her. Lisandro sees CR kissing MC in a store. Later, he demands that CR end his relationship with MC; CR assures him that he will. CR tries again to break up with Bárbara because he is not at her level but she and her grandmother convince him that he is wrong. Vilma arrives which makes Bárbara very happy. But she is furious when MC brings her the ruined dress. MC is fired. Coralia and Andrea hide the paper with the announcement of CR wedding. Coralia confronts Florencio about supporting CR’s lies. Finally, Coralia and Andrea show MC the newspaper article about the marriage. MC arrives at the church after Bárbara and CR are married. He sees her. Meanwhile, Victoria finds Braulio with a gun. Erasmo arrives and tries to get the gun away from him; it goes off and shoots Brualio in the stomach. He is taken to the hospital. Victoria doesn’t blame Erasmo. At the reception, Vilma tells Bárbara  that CR doesn’t seem too happy. Then she dances with Lisandro and tells him she is determined to win him. Then she sees Erasmo who could recognize her and “hides”. Amado tells Elisa he doesn’t want Braulio to die because he knows something about Victoria that she doesn’t want her sons to know and Braulio is the strongest. MC refuses to continue living in the apartment paid for by CR. She, Coralia and Andrea move in with Florencio. Bárbara and CR go on their honeymoon. That night, he can’t make love to her.

     He remains an unresponsive partner throughout the honeymoon, quiet, depressed, constantly thinking of MC, the woman he has loved and lost. MC gets a job as a nanny, only to discover that her employer, Virginia, wants her to do everything else (cook, clean, etc) for the same pay unless, of course, she doesn’t want the job. While doing the cooking, she faints and comes around when Virginia’s husband Fernando arrives home. She admits that she is pregnant. Virginia says she can work, provided she does everything, until she is 5-6 months along. Lisandro admits to Reinaldo that he can’t stop thinking about CR’s other woman, MC. Meanwhile, the man Vilma robbed in New York sees her on the street and chases her into the hotel from which she eventually climbs out on a balcony. Afraid she will commit suicide, he hesitates. She jumps into a pool and gets away, tells Lisandro and his grandmother that she was at the beach and had the urge to go swimming. MC continues to have trouble with Rafaelita, the young daughter in the house. Gilberto, the man Vilma robbed in New York, arrives at the house; he is an old friend of Lisandro’s. CR searches for MC. Juliana won’t tell him where MC is; calls MC to let her know that CR is looking for her. Bárbara returns home, is sure that CR must have another woman. Braulio recovers.

     10/29/01-11/02/01. CR admits to Lisandro that he loves MC; Lisandro, for some reason, doesn’t tell Bárbara or his grandmother. Another maid in the neighborhood tells MC that her boss never paid the last maid; MC asks her if she will be paid and is reminded that she lacks papers. Then the daughter plants a bracelet in her purse and accuses her of being a thief. Erasmo mentions to Elisa that he needs an assistant; she recommends MC. Erasmo interviews her and gives her the job; just then Lisandro arrives. Meanwhile, Gilberto has told Lisandro and his grandmother about the woman who robbed him and Lisandro has told Andrea that the only woman who interests him is MC. Andrea, having walked in on Vilma when she was kissing Lisandro, talks with her outside. Vilma pushes her into the pool. After CR again refuses to make love to Bárbara, she calls Braulio in the hospital who guesses that something is wrong because shortly before she had hung up on him.

          MC asks Erasmo not to tell CR that she is working in the gym, later is forced to explain why. Victoria decides to use MC as a cover. Lisandro re-introduces himself to MC, tells her of his immediate attraction to her sweetness, etc., and above all her beauty. Later in the gym, he asks to be her friend. Vilma arrives at the gym, is met by MC who tells her that Lisandro is working out. Vilma talks to her, kisses Lisandro when he appears, afterwards tells MC she is determined to win him. Meanwhile, nobody will tell CR where MC is. Finally, Andrea offers him a deal: help her win Lisandro and she will tell him where MC is. He gives her money for MC, she tells him to stay with his rich wife, uses the money ($1,000) to buy clothes. Amado meets MC while Elisa is teaching her how to use the computer; Elisa becomes jealous at his attitude and warns MC to stay away from him. Bárbara visits Braulio in the hospital and they kiss. She leaves, then asks Alexander to follow CR to find out if there is another woman. Alexander reports to both her and Braulio. Erasmo orders MC to go with Amado to pick up Victoria and not to tell anybody. CR tells Bárbara he was in love with a woman in Venezuela and still loves her. Barbara gets drunk. She runs into MC outside the building where Victoria had Amado drive them and recognizes her as the seamstress who destroyed, she thinks, her wedding dress. Victoria takes her home and learns about CR. Vilma and Andrea confront each other again; Vilma kicks her out of the hotel. Melisa and Lisandro confront CR when he returns home. Amado decides he is going to get MC one way or the other.  Coralia tells MC that CR finally told his wife the truth and will surely return to her. Andrea returns home furious, tells MC she hates her. Hurt, MC asks Coralia how her sister can hate her. Coralia says she isn’t her sister then retracts it, doesn’t act like her sister. Later she recalls her talk with MC’s mother: one of her daughters isn’t hers.Luciano’s wife demands that he get more money from Victoria not realizing that he is starting to fall in love with Victoria. Victoria tells Braulio about CR; he gets out of the hospital. Luna convinces Florencio to go to the gym; Luciano becomes their personal trainer. Bárbara and Vilma go riding. Florencio tells CR to make a life with Bárbara. He goes to the ranch, finds her galloping alone, helps her after she falls, says he can’t find his love and never will, promises never to leave her. Meanwhile, Gilberto, also riding, recognizes Vilma on another horse and chases after her. She runs into a barn, throws chickens at him and escapes again. Andrea tells Lisandro what Vilma does. He minimizes it, says that is just Vilma’s way and the only woman he is interested in is MC, who now works in the gym where he goes. Andrea wonders what he would do if he knew they were sisters. CR finds Braulio with Bárbara and becomes jealous. Amado tries to rape MC in the office; she stabs him with a knife. Amado swears she simply attacked him and Elisa calls the police. Andrea tells CR that MC needs more money ($1500), that this is a way for him to prove that he is worthy of her forgiveness. Vilma joins Lisandro in his shower but he, finally, rejects her advances.

     11/5-9/01. Both Amado and MC are arrested. Lisandro tells her he will help her. CR visits her, swears he loves her; she tells him it is over, she doesn’t need him. Victoria agrees to pay Amado’s bail and support him when he reminds her what he knows. It angers Luciano that Victoria lets herself be blackmailed by Amado. Elisa tells Erasmo that she will testify against MC. In jail, MC yearns for CR even though she sent him away. MC and Amado get out of jail. Braulio tries to fire him, but his mother tells him and Reinaldo they have no right to interfere with her employees. The two sons don’t understand her behavior. Then Victoria reprimands MC, suggests that these things happen only to women of her “class”. . Even when Amado threatens MC in the office, pushing papers off her desk and grabbing her by the wrists, Elisa defends him. Later Erasmo apologizes, tells MC that Victoria is under Amado’s thumb. Lisandro tells Andrea he knows now that he loves MC. Andrea calls MC a “mala mujer”. When CR finds out from Florencio that Lisandro is interested in MC, he says nobody else can have her. Vilma visits Andrea, then tells Lisandro she is really poor. Andrea decides to admit the truth, tells Lisandro she lied because she loves him. Erasmo realizes that he is falling in love with MC. Braulio finds his mother giving a large check to Amado, tears it up and demands to know why. Amado tells him about her lover and demands that MC back him up. Victoria denies it and MC says that Amado is lying. Braulio believes them, tells his mother he would be ashamed if it were true. Amado is fired. He swears vengeance against MC: it is all her fault. As he is leaving, Elisa tells him she is pregnant. He says he doesn’t care and leaves her. She blames MC and swears vengeance. Prudencia is hit by a car while crossing a street to get her dog. When she wakes up in the hospital, she can’t feel her legs. Barbara tells Vilma that they must find a 24-hour companion for Prudencia or she will demand all their time, that CR spent the night with her just to avoid being with her (Barbara), admits that he hasn’t touched her since the marriage. Alfonso disrupts a movie date that Luna and Florencio have; he wants her for himself. Elisa overhears MC refuse money from Victoria to keep the secret. MC also refuses to accompany her again. Andrea tells MC she hates her but again refuses to say why. She asks Lisandro for a job and accepts one as a maid; when Vilma finds her cleaning the office, she tells her she doesn’t need the job (her sister supports her) but took it to be near Lisandro, that she plans to win him. When MC hears about Prudencia, she visits the hospital, runs into CR who again declares his love. They kiss passionately but then she pulls away, tells him she won’t be his lover, that he has a wife, to leave her alone. Erasmo tells Victoria that he loves MC. MC tells Erasmo she is quitting: Victoria hates her, Elisa hates her, it is very uncomfortable. He tries to convince her to stay but she is adamant. Coralia tells Florencio she must find a man named Erasmo because he is the father of one of the girls, although he doesn’t know he had a daughter. Florencio asks her which one.

     11/12-16/01. no episode on the 12th. Coralia calls padre Alberto and he agrees that she should find Erasmo. CR tells Bárbara she no longer interests him as a woman and will give her a divorce. She refuses, nobody makes a fool of her. Bárbara tells Melisa that they should put Prudencia in an old people’s home, tells her what CR said. Melisa suggests that she take a lover. Bárbara invites Braulio out on her yacht, tells him she needs a man, kisses him passionately then pulls away: she is married now, still loves CR, and is sure he hasn’t been unfaithful. Braulio refuses to accept no as an answer. Vilma offers Truco $100 for a nun’s outfit he is supposed to deliver so he can follow Lisandro in secret, but he goes only to the office and the gym. There she talks with MC, tells her what she is doing, how determined she is to win Lisandro. On the way back to the hotel, she is splashed with mud and then refuses to pay Truco his tip because the outfit didn’t help her. When Lisandro greets MC, she asks him not to visit to avoid problems with Elisa’s gossip. He says it is unimportant and, in any case, true. She is surprised by her reaction when he takes her hand. Andrea again asks CR to help her win CR but doesn’t tell him whom Lisandro is interested in. Bárbara pushes Braulio off the yacht after he tries to force her. He swears to his friend that he will break up her marriage and make her beg him. Prudencia asks Lisandro to be more attentive to Vilma, admits she would like the two to be a couple. He says that Vilma is too modern a woman for him but promises to spend more time with her. MC admits to Coralia that she feels something strange when she is around Lisandro. He, meanwhile, tells Reinaldo he is afraid that MC dislikes his attentions and will give up on her. He apologizes to MC for his behavior and promises not to bother her again. Andrea and MC talk about money and men. Andrea admits she is envious. MC says that different classes can’t mix, that she thinks a millionaire, Lisandro, is interested in her but she knows it wouldn’t work out. Elisa tells MC she will be accompanying Victoria from now on, for money. Amado calls MC; she hangs up on her. Andrea and Vilma have a fight in Lisandro’s office; Andrea falls and hits her head. While she is unconscious, Vilma steals the ring she was wearing and later gives it to Amado who plans to sell it. After Andrea comes to, she, finally, notices the ring is missing and realizes that Vilma took it. CR convinces Prudencia to accept the wheelchair she initially refused. In the hospital, Bárbara tells CR they owe their marriage a chance, asks him to sit down and talk with her.

Erasmo takes MC to the same restaurant where Lisandro and Vilma end up sharing a table with an amoroso Bárbara and CR. MC goes to the bathroom after she sees them. CR follows her, swears he loves her. When Bárbara tries to open the door, he hides in a stall while Bárbara insults MC, again accuses her of tearing up her wedding dress, says she will get the manager to kick her out. Meanwhile, Vilma has gotten Lisandro to drink too much. When CR exits the stall, MC calls him a coward. Back in the restaurant, a drunk Lisandro sees her and talks to her. When she asks him how he knows Bárbara, he lies and says she is a friend of Vilma’s. MC leaves. Vilma takes Lisandro home and tries to make love to him but he is so drunk he falls asleep. Reinaldo proposes to Melisa at the dinner table with Braulio and Victoria and Lluvia looking on. That night, Lluvia cries her eyes out and tells her aunt who, for some reasons, suggests that she and MC, whom she doesn’t think she knows, would be good friends. Luna tells Florencio to take her out dancing or she will go out with Turco. When Elisa discovers that MC was out with her uncle Erasmo, she decides to tell Vilma who her rival is and makes an appointment. Vilma learns that Amado has sold the ring. She decides to take advantage of the fact that Lisandro was drunk and confesses to the kitchen help that he is quite a lover. When Vilma comes to the office, Elisa tells her that her rival for Lisandro is MC. Bárbara swears to Melisa that when she finds out whom CR loves, she will make the woman’s life insupportable. After CR takes Prudencia for a “walk” in the hospital gardens and goes back to the office, Bárbara tells her grandmother they have to talk. She tells Prudencia that it is her fault that CR isn’t with her, says she will send Prudencia to an old people’s home. Prudencia begs her not to; she will get a companion and stop taking the time of CR.

          Andrea discovers where Vilma lives, goes there looking for “the thief” and discovers that is is Lisandro’s home. She tells him that Vilma stole her ring; Lisandro refuses to believe her. CR begs Florencio to help him win back MC. Florencio agrees to give him MC’s work number. Bárbara finds MC’s phone number on CR’s desk. Vilma confronts MC about Lisandro. CR swears to Bárbara that she is wrong about the phone number. Vilma tells Lisandro he was a wonderful lover. Turco finds Andrea accusing Vilma of theft. She denies it. Victoria visits Prudencia in the hospital and confesses her secret. Lisandro invites MC out; she tells him that Vilma visited her and created a scandal.

USA 11/19-23/01. Pierina tells Victoria that Luciano doesn’t love her, only wanted money. Victoria confronts him, doesn’t give him a chance to talk, fires him, tells MC and, later, Erasmo, that he never loved her. CR runs into MC outside the gym, kisses her, picks her up and swears he will take her right away to Venezuela. She refuses to go with him. Lisandro asks MC to be his grandmother’s companion; she refuses. MC visits Juliana and tells her all that has happened. Juliana reads her cards: she will get a new job, bad things will happen. MC stops her and leaves. Braulio tells Bárbara she can’t play with him; she must choose between him and CR. She tells him she still loves CR but is disturbed by his kiss. Lisandro asks MC to spend the Saturday with him; she refuses because of the differences in their status and Vilma. Vilma arrives and takes Lisandro into the gym to workout with him.

      Braulio tells his mother to hire back Luciano, his personal and best trainer. She refuses. Two weeks pass.  ME goes on trial. She is found innocent and Amado is sent to jail for attempted rape. Victoria takes refuge in alcohol. Elisa loses her baby, tells her uncle Erasmo it is all MC’s fault. Luciano visits the house and gets into Victoria’s room, but she refuses to let him explain. MC demands that Andrea explain her hatred, asks how can she believe that she, MC, has everything (left at the altar, pregnant, etc.). Andrea tells her that her mother loved only her and now Lisandro loves her. Florencio spies on Luna and Turco dancing, then cuts in. MC goes out with Lisandro and he confesses his love for her. Federido goes to the hotel piano bar and she talks to CR after listening to him play, says her father is a music impresario and could convert him into a star. Coralia warns MC that Lisandro only wants to take advantage of her. Bárbara sees CR with Federica and confronts them, accuses her of being the woman that CR loves.      Bárbara apologizes, says she acts this way only because she is afraid of losing him.        

     11/26-30/01. Florencio’s night dancing has left him on crutches. Federico advises CR to fight for his real love and returns to Paris. Andrea gets the keys to Lisandro’s home and Vilma finds her searching her room. Lisandro again declares his love to MC. She tells him he won’t feel the same when he knows the whole truth about her. CR breaks up the fight between Vilma and Andrea. Vilma fakes a black eye, goes to the hotel and tells Lisandro what happened, insists that he fire Andrea. She tries to explain what happened but he refuses to believe that Vilma is a thief (she is rich). Andrea begs him not to fire her and he, finally, promises if she will forget the matter of the ring. She tells Luna and Turco she will pretend for the moment to forget it but will eventually get back at Vilma. Elisa visits Amado in jail, tells him she lost her baby and even when he says it was the best thing that could happen, she swears she will help him punish MC when he gets out of jail. Erasmo tells Victoria he thinks that MC is pregnant and wonders if the father is CR or Lisandro. She thinks that MC is a golddigger who would be thrilled to marry him if that is the case. After talking with Lisandro, he becomes certain that it is CR. But when MC tells him he is like a father to her, he realizes he doesn’t have a chance with her. Lluvia visits MC, introduces herself, and after a talk with her, tells her she should fight for her man. Alexander decides to take advantage of Reinaldo’s absence to have fun with Lluvia. CR agrees to go to the ranch for a few days with Bárbara. Lisandro kisses MC again.

MC tells Lisandro again that she isn’t in love with him and will never be in love with him. At the ranch, Bárbara tries and fails again to get CR to make love to her. Braulio’s friend tries to take advantage of Lluvia in the kitchen. She defends herself. When Braulio hears from Reinaldo that Bárbara and CR are at the ranch, he and a friend go there, turn off the electricity. When Bárbara searches the barn, he grabs her. At first she thinks it is CR. He looks for her but doesn’t find her and returns to the house. Finally, Bárbara recognizes Braulio. Vilma introduces herself to Victoria as Lisandro’s cousin, tells her she was at the gym but the behavior there was indecent, Lisandro was practically making love in public to an employee, a Maria Clara. Victoria goes with her to the gym and fires MC in spite of Erasmo’s objections. Luciano’s wife kicks him out of their apartment. He goes to the apartment where he met with Victoria and calls her but she refuses to listen to him. Vilma tells Prudencia that Victoria had a young lover. Prudencia admits it was a former trainer but begs Vilma not to tell Victoria’s  sons. Erasmo visits MC, demands to know who is the father. She assures him that Lisandro has always respected her and that her child has no father. 

          Erasmo tells Lisandro that MC was fired because of him. He confronts Victoria who accuses him of being the father of MC’s child. Surprised, he tells her that there was nothing between them. But after she says that the baby must therefore be CR’s, he says its only father is he. Later, he visits MC, tells her he wants to marry her and be the father to her child. Turco, jealous of Luna’s love for Florencio, goes to his restaurant and makes a scandal over cleanliness or something. Vilma tells Bárbara about Victoria’s young lover. Reinaldo finds Alexander forcing his attentions on Lluvia and tells him to leave the house and not return. Braulio tells him he can’t do that, Alexander is a friend of his, and wonders why Reinaldo is bothering to defend a mere servant. Andrea accidentally makes Luna aware that she and MC are sisters.

     Florencio loses his restaurant. Braulio, foiled in his plan at the ranch, makes another plan. MC has her cards read again: she will marry Lisandro but always love CR. Victoria and Vilma hatch a plan to embarrass MC in public so Lisandro will realize their different social positions. Victoria calls MC in, tells her she is sorry she believed Vilma, can’t offer her her old job (somebody new has been hired), but will offer her work as a servant, actually housekeeper, in her house. MC accepts. Victoria tells Lisandro and admits she will be there the day of her birthday. Lisandro tells her he doesn’t want to see her insulted. When Vilma calls the office, Elisa tells her that Amado is in jail and she is pregnant. Vilma visits Amado who tells her that Elisa lost the baby. Vilma says that doesn’t matter; he betrayed her and it is over between them. Alexander tells Melisa that Lluvia is trying to take Reinaldo away from her. Melisa goes to the house and insults Lluvia, tells her to stay away from him.

     USA 12/3-7/01. Victoria tells Vilma that MC is pregnant with Lisandro’s baby. Vilma tells Amado to forget her, tells Elisa she is a liar but, nevertheless, the two of them should unite against MC. Lisandro tells his grandmother he loves MC and her child. Victoria asks MC to serve, in a uniform, at her birthday. Carlos asks Bárbara to live on his salary; she refuses. He accuses her of always throwing his poverty in his face (not true). Lisandro visits MC at her home and is questioned by Coralia who ends up approving of him. Andrea finally admits to MC that she loves Lisandro. Luciano visits Victoria at the office, but she again refuses to listen to him.

     At the party, CR dedicates a song. One of the women trips MC and she spills a drink on Bárbara who demands that she be fired. CR goes to the kitchen, kisses MC, tells her he loves her and only her. Lisandro leaves the party. Reinaldo kicks out Luciano. Victoria fires MC, later tells Erasmo she is sorry, knows that she fell into Vilma’s trap and that MC didn’t deserve to be treated so. CR goes after her, kisses her on the street and again asks her to go with him to Venezuela. She refuses. Braulio tells Bárbara that CR was dedicating the song to another woman. Bárbara and Vilma decide they must do something to prevent MC’s baby from being born. Vilma visits Lisandro, tells him to forget MC who is obviously too lower class for him. Melisa sees Reinaldo talking to Lluvia and insults her. Coralia goes to Victoria’s office, tells her she should be ashamed of herself (her treatment of MC, her young lover). As she is leaving the office, she bumps into Erasmo. She says “Erasmo!”, he says “Coralia!”; Victoria looks surprised. Erasmo admits they knew each other in Venezuela; Coralia refuses to talk with him when she discovers he is a friend of Victoria’s. Victoria admits to Bárbara that she is sorry about what she did to MC who is a good woman. Bárbara insists that she isn’t, later tells Lisandro he must insist on an abortion. He refuses. Andrea goes to Lisandro, tells him that MC will never love anybody except CR, to give her a chance. He is sure he can win MC. Vilma enters when Andrea is kissing Lisandro and throws a fit, especially when she discovers that Andrea and MC are sisters. She can’t believe she has to fight both. MC overhears Coralia and Florencio talking about the secret of their origins and forces Coralia to tell her the story: her mother fell in love with a man, gave herself to him, became pregnant. He went to Miami, promised to call/write, never did. She had no way to contact him, practically the same story as MC’s. Then a close friend of hers died after giving birth. Teresa raised her own child and her friend’s as her own. MC asks which of them is which, but Luna arrives before Coralia can tell her. Braulio meets Pierina who tells him she is divorcing a husband of 25 who was the lover of a middle-aged woman. He thinks that is awful, doesn’t know what he would do if his mother behaved that way. When he takes her home, she is surprised to discover that Victoria is his mother. Victoria tells her to leave her son alone, but Pierina has the upper hand and Victoria knows it. Erasmo visits Coralia and learns that Teresa died, swears she was the only woman he loved, that he made a mistake. Coralia decides not to tell him about his daughter. CR asks Bárbara for a divorce; she refuses. After she tells Lisandro, he calls CR names: he was happy enough to marry Bárbara when he was poor and needed a job, money, position; now that he has them he wants to divorce her. Lisandro tells him he won’t permit it. Bárbara is furious when she learns that Andrea is MC’s sister and demands that Lisandro fire her. Lisandro refuses. Turco plans a new trick against Florencio, puts mice in Luna’s purse. Andrea returns home to find Lisandro kissing MC, calls her a traitor.

     USA 12/10-14/01. Lisandro tells Andrea he kissed MC, not the reverse but she, of course, continues to blame MC. Luna pays for food in the restaurant and the rat that Turco put in her purse escapes. Bárbara apologizes to CR, tells him she loves him, wants to win, doesn’t understand what this other woman has that she doesn’t. Lisandro asks Vilma to entertain Gilberto; Vilma tells him that he can’t visit now but Lisandro insists. Coralia tells MC she doesn’t know which of the two is Teresa’s “real” daughter. Reinaldo doesn’t understand why his mother is drinking. Drunk, she tells him about Luciano’s deception. Bárbara makes a nice dinner for CR but he tells her it won’t work; she runs out, he follows, the police see them struggling and arrest them. Vilma arrives at the dinner with a dark veil, saying her face is all broken out. Florencio thinks that Luna brought the rats on purpose; Turco comforts him. CR and Bárbara return home; she tells him things will get worse. If she can’t win his life, she will make him the unhappiest of men, will destory him and the woman he loves. Vilma has a nightmare that Gilberto recognizes her in spite of her disguise and unveils her and tells Lisandro. MC accepts Lisandro’s offer of work. Andrea tells CR that MC is pregnant with his baby. He decides he must find out if it is the truth. Luna tries to get Florencio’s forgiveness but fails. Turco is happy. Vilma decides she had better move to a hotel until Gilberto leaves, leaves a note for Prudencia saying she has gone to visit her parents in L.A. She wakes up in the hotel and finds herself covered in spots: she has the measles. Lisandro takes MC to his abuela’s house which she immediately recognizes as Bárbara’s, demands to know his relationship to Bárbara. He tells her that Bárbara sold him the house, that Vilma isn’t there and if she returns and bothers MC, he will ask her to leave. MC meets Prudencia, loves her dog, they start to talk. Prudencia knows she had an unhappy relationship and asks the name of the man who deceived her. Bárbara tells her friend that she will turns CR’s life into an infierno. Alexander rapes Lluvia. Distraught, she showers, then dresses and acts as if nothing had happened. Erasmo tells Victoria that he may have fallen in love with his own daughter, that he met one of Teresa’s daughters (Andrea) and if MC is the other, she could be his daughter...not that he knew Teresa was pregnant but she could have been. Victoria tells him not to buy trouble.

     MC tells Prudencia her lover is dead and doesn’t want to talk about him. Alex finds Reinaldo talking to Lluvia and looks hard at her. Bárbara calls her abuela and MC answers. Neither recognizes the other’s voice. MC reads to Prudencia. Everybody comes down with measles: Luna, Turco, Florencio. Reinaldo invites Lluvia for a walk to the zoo. CR gives Andrea money for MC’s baby. Bárbara and MC come face to face in the house; Prudencia asks if it is true about the dress. Lisandro arrives and says that MC won’t leave. MC leaves, tells Lisandro he is as bad as CR. Bárbara calls Vilma, tells her she must return at once: MC is Prudencia’s companion. Braulio discovers that Lluvia went out with Reinaldo and tells Victoria. Just as Lisandro is begging the packing MC to stay, the maid tells him that CR has arrived.

     Coralia tells Erasmo most of the story, except which one of the girls is his. He tells Victoria he is sure that it is Maria Clara’s. Pierina demands payment from Victoria to keep her secret from Braulio and Victoria acceeds. Braulio tells his mother that Reinaldo took out Lluvia. She reprimands Reinaldo and tells Lluvia if it happens again, she will be fired. Bárbara throws a fit when she finds MC in her grandmother’s house, especially when she learns that she has her old room. She refuses to share the dinner table with MC and MC leaves. Lisandro and Prudencia, however, convince MC to stay. Luciano looks for work; when Pierina visits him, she tells him she is seeing Braulio. He warns her not to hurt Victoria, later calls Victoria to tell her to watch out for Pierina.

     Braulio tells his mother that Reinaldo was kissing Lluvia in the kitchen, then tells Melisa. After Reinaldo leaves, Victoria fires Lluvia. CR runs into MC in the house, realizes that she is pregnant. She tells him the child is somebody else’s. When Lisandro arrives, CR suspects him but Lisandro tells him he is only helping MC. Florencio tells CR that he no longer exists for MC. The padre calls Coralia to tell her that her sister Mercedes was hit by a car and was gravely hurt; she needs to return home. Vilma tells Bárbara to cheat on CR with Braulio. Lluvia goes home to her aunt Juliana. Melisa tells Reinaldo that Victoria fired Lluvia because she stole a necklace. CR almost finds Braulio and Bárbara in the shower together. Bárbara asks CR for a final opportunity, a few months (so she will have time to discover the name of the woman he loves and destroy them both). Vilma returns and warns MC to stay out of her way. Amado’s hearing is set. Florencio discovers that CR has been giving Andrea money monthly for MC and tells him that Andrea is keeping it. CR confronts Andrea about her lie. She admits it but tells him that if he fires her, she will tell Bárbara who the love of his life is. Turco and Luna announce their engagement to CR. Erasmo tells Victoria she can’t continue this way. Bárbara and Vilma plan to make MC lose her baby by having her trip and fall down the stairs. She trips and falls.

     12/17-21/01. Ines, the maid, hears Vilma and Barbara crowing about their success in making MC fall and tells Prudencia who can’t believe it. MC doesn’t lose the baby. Months pass. Lluvia’s aunt believes she is working in a clinic at night; in reality, she is working in a bar run by Amado as a “dancer”. Reinaldo realizes that he misses Lluvia. Bárbara and Braulio remain lovers. Bárbara and Vilma are rude to MC at dinner. When she goes upstairs, Leandro follows. CR enters to find them kissing. MC tells him that Lisandro is the father of her baby. He believes her, wishes her well, says he will be happy with Bárbara. Meanwhile, Prudencia reprimands Barbara and Vilma for their behavior and for trying to cause a miscarriage. They admit it but Barbara threatens her not to tell anybody. After CR takes her home, Vilma warns Prudencia not to fool with Barbara. Prudencia can’t believe they admitted it or that Barbara tried to hurt her. MC goes into labor and has the shortest first-time labor in history.

     Lisandro delivers MC’s baby. Prudencia’s lawyer Mejia arrives and she changes her will. CR, furious by the news that MC’s baby is Lisandro’s, makes love to Bárbara. Bárbara tells Braulio she doesn’t need him anymore. Reinaldo runs into Lluvia when he goes to visit MC; they kiss and admit their love for each other but she tells him the relationship is impossible. He asks MC for Lluvia’s address. CR calls MC after the birth; she tells him her marriage plans are her business; afterwards admits to herself that she still loves him (he, of course, is thinking the same thing). Vilma plays a trick on Andrea with some handcuffs a cop dropped outside the hotel after an arrest. Bárbara tells Melisa that CR made love to her like before, in spite of a huge argument about MC. Melisa suggests that maybe MC is the woman in his past.

     Bárbara is sure that Melisa is wrong, that she simply makes CR recall his days as a pobretón. CR tells Lisandro he is going to find out who is really the father of MC’s baby, that he will not Lisandro steal MC from him. Pierina tells Luciano that their divorce is final. He tells her he is going to make something of himself so that he will deserve Victorio’s love. Victoria, who hasn’t seen Luciano for months, continues to love him. Luna tells CA that Andrea will know who is the father of MC’s baby. Luciano visits Victoria, tells her he is divorced, assures her that he is free and loves her, is studying; she rejects him again. Reinaldo visits Lluvia. Vilma tells Bárbara that CR was in MC’s room (telling her he knew the baby was his, but Vilma didn’t hear). CR assures Bárbara that MC is a one-man woman. Andrea keeps trying to get rid of the pan that is handcuffed to her wrists. Vilma and Bárbara eat with CR while Prudencia, MC and Prudencia dine together. Prudencia tells Lisandro and MC it is time to set a wedding date. Bárbara admits to Vilma she doesn’t understand why she hates MC so much. Braulio and Alexander see a masked Lluvia at the bar. Reinaldo asks his mother why she lied about Lluvia. Victoria says she didn’t lie, only kept quiet so as not to embarrass Melisa. Victoria apologizes.

     MC agrees to marry Lisandro. Prudencia wants the wedding to be soon and says she will take care of everything. Reinaldo asks Melisa how she could lie about Lluvia, breaks up with her. Lisandro tells Andrea he forgot to asks Vilma for the handcuffs key. Turco offers to sell Vilma information about Andrea for $100. She refuses to pay. MC refuses to let CR hold her baby. CR tells Florencio he knows that MC’s child is his and Florencio failed him. Luna falls for the trap Andrea set for Vilma. Bárbara admits to Braulio that she knows CR doesn’t love her and tells Braulio she wants him. Lisandro forces Vilma to unlock Andrea’s handcuffs. Victoria comforts Melisa. CR buys toys for MC’s baby. Bárbara finds them and is furious, tells CR she has has a lover for months. CR congratulates her. Lisandro loves MC but hasn’t forgotten his first love and visits Silvana’s grave. MC refuses to answer when CR demands to know if she has really stopped loving him. She runs back to her room, cries to herself that she still loves him. CR asks Prudencia to let him hold MC’s baby; Prudencia agrees to help him. Reinaldo arrives at Lluvia’s house just as she is leaving for the “clinic”; he tells her that he broke up with Melisa. She refuses to let him take her to the clinic. Bárbara tells Melisa what CR told her. Andrea takes ice to Amado’s room and gets a tip for $100. She asks is she knows him; he tells her no, he would remember a woman as pretty as she. (He’s changed his look a bit but not that much.) He says he is visiting from Dallas and would like to take her out. Prudencia makes Lisandro promise to care for MC and her child if something should happen to her. Lisandro doesn’t believe that Bárbara and Vilma could really hurt MC and Prudencia doesn’t give him details. Lluvia takes Reinaldo to her clinic and he says he will pick her up in the morning. MC admits to Prudencia that she still loves the man who betrayed her. CR tells Andrea that Lisandro and MC will marry in a week.

     Elisa is seeing Amado again, learns that he is fronting the bar for somebody else and it is used to hide contraband goods. She wants to help him revenge himself on MC. Prudencia warns Bárbara not to hurt MC. Lluvia tells Reinaldo she is not worthy of him, a man raped her. Victoria tells Erasmo and Elisa she has been invited to Lisandro’s wedding. Elisa tells Amado who swears there will be no wedding. Prudencia makes plans for the wedding. MC says there are few friends to invite: Florencio, Lluvia. Andrea won’t want to come (she doesn’t explain why) and her madrina lacks the money to come from Caracas. Prudencia is sure she can take care of that small problem.

     12/24-28/01. no episodes 12/24-25. MC admits to Prudencia that CR is the father of her child. Amado invites Andrea out, in the car tells her the truth. They struggle. The police follow. Bárbara tells Braulio that Reinaldo loves Lluvia.

CR admits to Prudencia he did wrong, that he is suffering, has asked MC for forgiveness, says that he fell for Bárbara’s “trick” (the clothes, riches, car, job, etc.). CR begs Prudencia to let him visit the house, so he can see his daughter. Prudencia didn’t know. Bárbara, after having sex with Braulio, tells him she doesn’t know why she hates MC so much, suspects that she may remind CR of the woman he loved. Prudencia agrees to let him see his daughter, but he must stay away from MC. She promises not to tell Bárbara, but the woman pushing her wheelchair, Inés,  hears him ask her. Vilma is furious when MC tells her that she and Leandro will marry first por lo civil y despues por la iglesia. Prudencia tells Lisandro she knows the whole story, warns him that MC and CR will always love each other, that MC will never love him as a man. Amado’s car crashes and he is arrested. Vilma beats up the maid  Natalia when she defends MC. Lisandro tells Prudencia he will let MC go free, but will give his name to her daughter. Florencio goes to the police station and hears the story from Andrea. Andrea, of course, blames MC. Lisandro tells MC it is better that they not marry. CR remembers Federica Roldan. Federica’s sister Mona talks to her friend about the death of her younger sister and now her father. She will take over. The friend tells her about the man that Federica met; Mona recalls the conversation and decides to call him. MC tells Lisandro she wants to marry him, wants to learn to love him. He is so happy, he accepts her.  MC and Lisandro return to Florencio’s apartment. MC hears about Amado, tells Andrea that she had a daughter and named it Teresa. Andrea doesn’t care. MC tells her she is going to marry Lisandro. Pedro tells Luna he is going to leave Miami to forget MC; Luna tells him he will never forget her. Andrea tells her that she will hate her more than ever, that even their mother preferred her. Andrea tells Lisandro his punishment will be that MC will never love him.

     Braulio tries to removes Lluvia’s mask but is stopped. CR begs MC not to marry Lisandro, kisses her passionately. She succumbs but afterwards tells him it is over between them. Later, she tells herself that he loves her and she loves him, but from now on Lisandro will be the only man in her life. Elisa visits Amado in jail and swears she will revenge herself on MC and Andrea for what they did to him. Turco walks in on Florencio when he is just about to kiss Luna and they stage a mock sword fight (with brooms) when CR arrives. Pierina asks Victoria for her monthly “allowance” in front of Erasmo.

     USA 12/31/01-1/4/02. no episodes on the 31st, 1st. 1/2/01 mainly a repeat of 12/28. Victoria gives Pierina the money. CR tells Florencio he is going to divorce Barbara, give up everything, go on a trip. He gets out Federica’s number and calls it, reaches Yesenia who invites him to come to Paris for a test. Turco puts something itchy down the back of Florencio. Reinaldo tells Lluvia he is sure that he wants to marry her. Coralia returns. Vilma tells Barbara that MC’s wedding dress has arrived. Barbara tells her to destroy it; she will take the blame. Vilma takes scissors to it.

          On the wedding day, Barbara goes to Prudencia’s room, insists that she stop the wedding. Prudencia warns her that MC will be protected even after her death. Bárbara shakes her. She has a heart attack. Bárbara can’t find her pills. She dies. Bárbara flees the house. A short time later, MC finds her, calls Lisandro. He has Vilma call the invitees to advise them that the wedding has been postponed. At the funeral, Bárbara admits to Vilma that she was partly responsible, had an argument, couldn’t find the pills, is worried about the pills. Vilma doesn’t tell her that she hid Prudencia’s pills specifically to speedup her death and receive the inheritance. (It turns out that Prudencia owned everything: house (house, business, you name it), which makes her fear of Bárbara’s sending her to an old people’s home even more stupid.

     After the funeral, Lisandro tells MC they will marry as soon as is acceptable and that nothing will change; when he takes a nap, Bárbara kicks MC out of the house and MC decides she doesn’t need Lisandro. CR visits Coralia, again explains that he loves MC, was trapped by the riches, that she would never give him a second chance although he loves her, tells Coralia he is going away so MC will be happy. Bárbara tells Lisandro that MC is not welcome in the house. After CR leaves, MC arrives and learns that he is going away. MC confesses to Coralia that she still loves CR more than her life. Lisandro tells Bárbara that if he inherits the house, she must leave. Vilma insists she tried to stop Bárbara but he doesn’t believe her. Lisandro tells MC that Bárbara had no right to do what she did, but MC says she would prefer to stay with Coralia, will return to the house only as his wife. CR says goodbye to Bárbara, says he is going to Paris, tells her to get a divorce. Victoria tells Reinaldo she will support his relationship with Lluvia. Bárbara tells Melisa that CR is going to Paris, wants a divorce, no money. She confesses that for the first time in her life she is in love. Melisa tells her to pretend to be pregnant, and buy a baby from another woman. While he is away, she can pretend to be pregnant; when he comes back, she will have the baby. 

     1/7/02 - Mejias tells Vilma and, later, MC much of what will be in the will, assures MC she must accept the inheritance or all the money will go to charitable institutions. Bárbara tells Vilma she is going to buy a baby. Luciano and Victoria reconcile.

          Luciano and Victoria tells Reinaldo and Braulio. Braulio refuses to accept it (Erasmo would be ok), hits Luciano, tells his mother she can forget him until she gets over this. The will is read and is very complicated. Vilma, Lisandro, and Bárbara get half of the house, MC the other half. Lisandro and Bárbara each get one other property. MC gets most of the money, except for a large amount to each of the maids (Inés and Natalia). MC, Lisandro, Bárbara and CR get equal shares in the hotel chain. Lisandro will get $10m dollars when he marries MC. MC will get nothing if she marries somebody else, will if she marries Lisandro and divorces after 5 years. 20% of the profits of the hotel chain will go to Bárbara and Vilma for their expenses. Inés tells Natalia that, in spite of the inheritance, she doesn’t want her baby; Natalia suggests adoption. Luna sees Yesenia, is sure that she will make CR forget MC. The two have dinner after the reading of the will and CR plays the piano. Lluvia confesses to MC where she really works; MC promises her work in the hotel. She returns to the nightclub for her last night and, of course, Braulio unmasks her.

     Yesenia meets Leandro and MC and thinks: that is the face of the murderer. CA tells them she has contracted him but doesn’t tell them her name.

     CA and Yesenia go to Paris. Erasmo tells MC he may be her father but Coralia confesses that Andrea is his daughter; they agree that he should win her affection before telling her the truth. Andrea takes advantage of her new position in the hotel. Lisandro warns Bárbara that if they fight they will, it will take years during which they will own/have nothing. So she decides to go along with Vilma’s plan: make Lisandro doubt MC and marry her only to gain full control of everything. Andrea gets into the house and handcuffs the sleeping Vilma to a pan. MC isn’t living in the house but won’t let Bárbara keep her from visiting daily. Bárbara tells Ines she will get ½ million dollars if she sells her baby to Bárbara where it will be raised as the son of her and CR. Ines needs time to consider. 

     Elisa slashes Andrea’s face. Vilma tells Bárbara to become friendly with MC so nobody will suspect their plan, but Lisandro learns of it.

     1/14-18/02. Bárbara hires Reinaldo as a lawyer to fight MC while she is at the same time pretending to be her friend (offering to help her shop for proper clothes, etc.), offering condolences re Angdrea. Reinaldo refuses. In Paris, Yesenia admits to Carlos that in Miami she saw the man who killed her sister and plans revenge. She tells Georgette that she is very interested in CR. Georgette tells Yesenia she agrees with Fedrica and Yesenia’s father: the death of the younger sister was an accident. He admits that she reminds him of MC. Braulio attacks Leoncio and Victoria must separate them. Vilma suggests to Lisandro that he marry MC, get back everything, divorce her, marry Vilma. He tells her he plans to stay married to MC forever. When Braulio starts calling his mother “Victoria”, she tells him that Pierina has been blackmailing her for months. Braulio hits her and warns her not to come near him or his mother. Bárbara lies to Melisa, says she doesn’t have to pretend to be pregnant because she is. Bárbara suggests the same strategy to Lisandro as did Vilma. Leoncio agrees to always be there for Pierina. Braulio and Alejandro cut the brakes on Leoncio’s motorcycle. CR calls Florencio to tell him that Bárbara is pregnant; Coralia tells MC.

          Lisandro visits Andrea in the hospital; crying, she tells him to marry MC and make her forget CR. Then Andrea apologizes to MC for all the hurt she cared. Andrea returns home. Inés calls Bárbara to tell her she can’t sell her baby. Bárbara convinces her it is for the best. Leoncio has an accident but survives. He goes to the doctor with Pierina; her tests results are positive for HIV. Bárbara invites MC to the house. She and Vilma tells her they understand her better now, that she is noble and simple. Then Bárbara announces her pregnancy.

     The scar on Andrea’s face is awful. Reinaldo warns MC not to trust Bárbara and Vilma, not to sign blank papers, read everything she signs, etc. Bárbara and Vilma warn her that Reinaldo isn’t an experienced lawyer, that they aren’t bad people, want only the best, she should trust them. MC asks Coralia about her father but she knows nothing. Back in their home country, the dying Maria gives a letter to the padre which will tell MC all about her family. CR begins a successful concert tour and an affair with Yesenia, although he admits to her that he will always love MC, he must forget her for her sake.

     1/21-25/02. Lisandro tells MC about Silvana, gives her another chance to back out of the marriage. MC insists she wants to marry him and will learn to love him as he deserves. Bárbara is furious when she learns that Coralia will be moving in to the house. Lisandro refuses to do anything. Gilberto finds Vilma again, accuses her of being a thief, saves her from drowning. She swears it was the first time she had stolen, neededd food, admits that she is Lisandro’s cousin. He promises not to tell Lisandro. In Paris, Yesenia tells CR that she has met the man who killed her sister but he doesn’t know who she is. Yesenia admits she cancelled the plane tickets so CR couldn’t return to Miami in time for MC’s wedding. Andrea wishes MC luck but can’t go to the wedding: there is her face and the fact that she loves Lisandro. Victoria arrives at the house for the wedding and introduces Luciano; Vilma flirts with him, to Victoria’s discomfort. Braulio calls Lluvia the “woman of the mask”. Later, he and Melisa again approach Lluvia and Reinaldo and discuss her dancing; Reinaldo doesn’t understand what is going on. CR calls MC, begs her not to marry. Melisa tells Lluvia’s aunt the kind of work she did. Lisandro and MC have the civil ceremony. Melisa tells Reinaldo about Lluvia; he doesn’t believe her.

          MC and Lisandro, of course, sleep in separate room. Bárbara and Vilma discover that MC’s baby isn’t Lisandro’s. Gilberto propose to Vilma. Vilma and Braulio talk and begin to suspect that MC is CR’s love. Yesenia has a fight with Bárbara, becomes friends with Lisandro as a start to her revenge. CR arrives home, corners MC in her bedroom and they, of course, kiss passionately. He tells her she will always be his. Eventually, she slaps him and tells him to leave. Lisandro buys a ton of clothes for MC> Vilma and Bárbara decide to make MC crazy to get hold of the inheritance. Victoria offers to help MC become comfortable in high society; MC accepts and the classes begin. CR tells Bárbara he wants proof that the baby is his and not Braulio’s; she tells him that Braulio was never her lover, only said he was to make him angry.

     USA 1/28/02-2/01/02. Victoria gives MC lessons. Yesenia and Bárbara confront each other again. Lisandro moves into MC’s bedroom, sleeping on the sofa, to avoid gossip in the house. The padre calls Coralia to tell her that Mayra died and left a letter for MC telling her about her real family. Coralia tells him to mail it to Lisandro’s house. Leandro has lunch with Yesenia and admits that his wife loves another. Bárbara decides to invite MC to an art exhibition to embarrass her. MC tells Victoria who gives her a crash course in art. Carlota helps her cut and fix her hair. She appears at the exhibition properly dressed and impresses the artist Donatello with her knowledge of art. Reinaldo goes to the hotel to talk with Lluvia but ends up telling her that he can’t forget or forgive what she did. Erasmo tells his niece that Andrea is his daughter; she says that doesn’t matter, she can’t forgive her. Jealous, CR drags MC out of the reception. Vilma follows and sees them kissing; Bárbara, Yesenia, Lisandro appear. CR tells Bárbara the whole story. She goes to her room, recalls the scenes between the two, the song CR dedicated at a party. Yesenia comforts CR, defends him in front of Lisandro. Lisandro thanks Yesenia, to her surprise. CR finds Bárbara half crazy, cutting up clothes. He holds her, tells her he won’t leave her or their child. MC apologizes to Lisandro for her lack of respect toward him but she just couldn’t help herself, can’t get rid of the love she feels for CR, begs his forgiveness. He refuses to accept her apology, says it was his fault for chasing her, pressuring him to marry him. He kisses her goodnight, says he still hopes to win her love one day. Meanwhile, Leoncio gets a desperate call from Pierina and goes to her apartment. She is very sick and he takes her to the hospital. Victoria calls but he won’t tell her why he left or where he is. Braulio takes Alexander, shot by Melisa, to the hospital and sees Luciano, visits Pierina and learns she got AIDS after she divorced Luciano. Luciano finally tells Victoria where he has been and she insists on going to the hospital. Melisa leaves the gun on Lluvia’s doorstep; when she finds it, she picks it up, of course. Carlota tells her to turn it in to the police. MC goes to work in the hotel. Lluvia is arrested. Erasmo takes Andrea to see a surgeon, Dr. Ricardo Sandoval, who guarantees that he can remove the scar and return her face to its previous state.

     2/11-15/02. Lisandro is beaten by a snake while trying to rescue CR and MC. They are rescued, he survives. Lluvia is in jail. Melisa visits her and taunts her. Andrea steals back her ring from Vilma, warns MC that Yesenia is after Lisandro. CR becomes insanely jealous after he learns that MC went out on a yacht with Braulio and others and then sees them dancing together, suggests to her that her baby is neither his nor Lisandro’s. Yesenia is determined to make Lisandro fall in love with her. MC tells Lisandro she must leave him. She tells her sister she is also determined to return the money. Lisandro tells CR and Yesenia, but MC rejects CR. Yesenia comforts Lisandro. Lisandro begs MC to stay with him, doesn’t care that she doesn’t love him, will protect him from his sister and cousin. She, finally, agrees. Bárbara’s “pregnancy” is advancing. Victoria is worried that Braulio may have AIDS. When MC returns to the house, Bárbara and Vilma have a man scare her in such a way that all will think she is crazy.

     2/18-22/02. Bárbara goes to an asylum, tells the doctor MC is crazy. Drugged, she really seems crazy when she talks to the doctor.

Subject: Here's what I remember and others can add..... Author: Martita (66.56.136.212) Date:   02-18-2002 22:08 if they remember what I left out.... Vilma and Babs (yuk!) were really into their plan to get MC into the manicomio. So Babs drugged MC with something that made her act all dopey, ...she jumped into the pool with all her clothes on, laughing, etc, and while she was in the pool, Vilma took the baby and hid her somewhere in the garden. They made a big deal out of the situation, saying that MC had tried to kill her own daughter. (also there was the episode about the spiders in her bed, which made her look crazy too!) Barbara took MC to the manicomio and is convincing the doctor to commit her ...Lisandro and ThePig (Carlos Raul) are away on hotel business, so this is a good time for Barbara and Vilma to do their mischief! The maid is very suspicious, but she doesn't have the nerve to stand up for MC against the two witches. She talks on the phone to the other (pregnant) maid, who is going to give her baby to Babs, and the pregnant girl warns her not to mess with Barbara & Vilma. Luna quits her job at the hotel in order to make it easier for El Turco to bear the break-up! Carlos Raul understands and tells her they'll miss her, but if she ever wants to come back the door is open! She is going to work in Florencio's restaurant instead. La Madrina went over to Babs house to see MC, because she was worried about her, but the witch wouldn't let her in. Later, Coralia returned with Luna and Florencio as back-up, but they still couldn't get in! Andrea is being all sweetie-pie to Erasmo and calling him ''Papi''...but she is really out to get things from him....starting with a cell phone today. Her evil cousin Elisa(?), of course, hates her more than ever and wishes that her uncle could see her for the ''interesada que es.'' Alexander (the rapist) visited Lluvia in jail, called her a would-be murderer, and Lluvia swore to him by all that's good and holy that she DID NOT SHOOT at him...and it looked to me as though he was starting to wonder if maybe she was telling the truth.      2/25/02-3/1/02. Lisandro proves to Yesenia that it was an accident. She is ashamed although he asks that they still be friends. MC escapes from the asylum. Juliana takes her to a “safe” place: it turns out to be Ricardo’s home. He agrees to help her. We learn that Bárbara and Braulio are working together against MC. Vilma is on her honeymoon with Gilberto. Ricardo tells MC not to give up her inheritance. Braulio visits Andrea, romances her, tries to get info re MC. MC calls Reinaldo, sets up a meeting, tells him she wants to return all her money. They sign the papers.

Subject: Not much happened today Author: Orion (216.106.67.50) Date:   03-01-2002 19:54 The first half hour was a replay of the last half hour of Thursday's episode. They had Maria Clara telling Andrea and her madrina all about how she returned her inheritance and they couldn't believe she would give up all that wealth and later Ricardo gave her his little Casanova type treatment although she told him she intended to go back to live with her madrina because it would be such an imposition on him for her to stay there. Then we had Braulio and Alexander snatch Maria Clara and Braulio cloroformed her and put her in the back seat and Alexander started to drive them away. But Maria Clara awoke and then she grabbed the steering wheel and this all resulted in the crash. MC ran away from them but eventually they caught her and put her in a shack. Braulio was alone with MC and revealed that he had joined the ranks of those men who have fallen in love with her by saying how entranced he was by how she looked at the art gallery weeks ago. Barbara was talking to yet another mystery person and Carlos Raul wanted to know who it was and Barbara told him it was Vilma although this appeared to be a falsehood. In the newer parts the main parts included Natalia confiding to Carlos Raul that Maria Clara had received an important letter from Venezuela but Barbara had intercepted it and wouldn't allow Maria Clara to see it. CR demanded that Barbara hand it over but she claimed the letter didn't have anything important in it. Barbara then took the letter out of her safe after CR had left the room and vowed it would never be revealed although she has still not destroyed it yet. Carlos Raul and Lisandro both learned that Maria Clara is missing yet again although they still don't know where she went to before she was remissing. Vilma was on her honeymoon and Gilberto was having his "accidental death" planned out for him for the next day by her so that she could achieve her goal of riches. This is all I remember although alot of it was in repeats of Thursday.

3/4-8/02. Braulio threatens MC several times. Alejandro, finally, calls Lisandro to tell him where Braulio has hidden MC. Andrea refuses to believe that Braulio is guilty. Lisandro calls the police. CR arrives first and fights with Braulio, finally gets MC away safely. She runs into Lisandro’s arms. Braulio comes out with a gun; as Victoria runs toward him, the police accidentally shoot her in the back. In the hospital, it appears that she is going to die. She begs MC not to file charges against Braulio, who has not implicated Bárbara, and MC agrees. MC confirms to CR that she is going to divorce Lisandro.

Subject: Summary for Monday March 4 Author: Orion (216.106.66.9) Date:   03-04-2002 18:21  The first part is a repeat of the last part of Friday's episode but I will go over it again.  Maria Clara was being held in the shack by Braulio at Barbara's behest. Braulio was coming on to her and she was trying to fend him off and begged him not to do anything to her. Braulio asked her if she wished Carlos Raul was there and he told her she had no hopes for that. Finally Braulio got away from her telling her she wasn't his type and preferred stronger women like Barbara and he left her in there overnight.  Natalia told Carlos Raul that a letter had arrived for Maria Clara and that Barbara took it away and wouldn't allow anyone to see it. He went up to Barbara's room and she asked him if he would like to go to the hacienda to ride horses but he wondered if this would endanger her pregnancy but she didn't seem to think this was any problem. Finally Carlos Raul asked her about the letter which pertained to Maria Clara.  Victoria was worried about her son Braulio and the fact that he was refusing to get tested for the HIV. Also Victoria was not happy with the fact that Erasmo disapproved of any relationship between Andrea and Braulio whether or not Braulio had the virus. Reinaldo stated that Braulio definitely should take the test for the good of Andrea as well as himself.  Andrea was not happy with Maria Clara giving back her inheritance and they were back to being poor at living at the house of the "gordito" Florencio and Coralia thought she was being disrespectful. Andrea later said how wonderful it would be to be married to Braulio and live in a mansion with many servants and she told Coralia that Braulio was a good boy and that she had grown tired of Lisandro anyway.  In Columbia on her honeymoon with Gilberto Vilma was already tired of him and he was upset because she wouldn't let him kiss her anymore or be affectionate. Gilberto then told her he planned to get a boat for them to sail to Cartageña and Vilma decided this would be the venue for him to die and leave her a rich widow. Then she decided to give him at least one night of passion sort of like a condemned man's last meal.  Back at the Serrano house Barbara denied that any letter for Maria Clara existed but Carlos Raul told her that Natalia already told him it existed. Barbara finally admitted the letter existed but said she read it and destroyed it and that it didn't contain anything important in it. Carlos Raul then warned her she better not be lying to him and also not to take any retaliation against Natalia but after he left the room Barbara had her mind made up that the maid Natalia would pay somehow.  The next day Braulio and Alexander brought Maria Clara breakfast and roses like 2 caballeros but she threw the roses back in his face. After they had left and locked her backed in she went searching through the shack and found a stick with which she hoped to free herself. She heard someone outside and waited by the doorway and prepared to hit the man with it as soon as he entered.  At the hotel Yesenia met up with Lisandro and she could see he had been in the same clothes as the night before and Carlos Raul met both of them and they talked about Maria Clara once again being missing.  At Florencio's place, Coralia, Florencio and Andrea were all wondering of the whereabouts of Maria Clara and then Ricardo arrived and they told him of Maria Clara not being heard from since they were at his house.  Alexander walked in through the door of the shack and Maria Clara tried to hit him with the stick but he fended her off rather easily. She begged him to release her or to call Carlos Raul but this was rejected. She then asked who gave the order to confine her but this was also given no response. Braulio later returned and resumed hitting on her again in spite of his earlier claims she wasn't his type.  Barbara met up with Natalia and in spite of Carlos Raul's urgings earlier she threatened her for having told him about Maria Clara's letter.  Lisandro went to Florencio's house and Andrea was alone there and she decided to make him pay for rejecting her earlier. She told Lisandro about Maria Clara staying at Ricardo's house after escaping from the sanitarium and then added some more details that were not entirely accurate. First that Maria Clara had sought him out after getting out of the manicomio and then that she had seen them kissing each other. Lisandro suggested what Andrea said was possibly a lie He then left and Andrea was happy that she had made him hurt a little bit. After Lisandro had driven off Ricardo drove in with Florencio and Coralia and they had failed to find Maria Clara and conveniently Lisandro and Ricardo missed seeing each other. Andrea laughed as she looked at Ricardo as if she had just played a clever trick but fortunately for her nobody understood what it signified.  In Columbia Gilberto and Vilma were on the boat and he took a swim and Vilma decided instead of joining him in the water she would kill him instead and so she took out a gun and shot him in the neck and then threw the weapon in the water. Vilma then called Barbara to report she was planning to return to Miami.  At the hotel Lisandro told Carlos Raul about Andrea's allegations about Maria Clara and Ricardo and Carlos Raul refused to believe it at all. Barbara then entered and seemed delighted to hear this news and she suggested this proved Maria Clara wasnt a saint as they had always believed.  Braulio got off of Maria Clara again but reiterated that she would be his one day and as he left she called him a coward. Later on Braulio called Andrea and they told each other how wonderful they were, etc. and Alexander remarked to him what would Andrea think if she knew about his activities against Maria Clara.  Carlos Raul told Alphonso that he suspected that Maria Clara had been kidnapped. Lisandro questioned Carlos Raul and suspected him of hiding her but he denied that and they agreed it was time to bring in the police.  Natalia was in Barbara's room now that the latter had gone to the hotel and she was frantically searching for the letter which contained the secret of Maria Clara's true parentage. She failed to find it since it was hidden being a picture hung up on the wall where she never thought to look.  Maria Clara was missing Teresita and wanted so badly to see her again and worried that Braulio and Alexander would eventually kill her. The police started an investigation after Lisandro and Carlos Raul went to see them.  Ricardo went into Lisandro's office at the hotel and missed seeing him once again after hearing that he is looking for him. Yesenia entered and saw him there and they talked all about Maria Clara and he told her she was missing and could be in danger since nobody knew where she was. Ricardo told Yesenia that he thought Maria Clara was very special and that at first he was interested in Andrea but after getting to know the sister better she was his interest now. Yesenia thought it would be convenient for him to "conquer" Maria Clara so the path could be cleared for her with Lisandro. She told him he was usually only interesting in playing around with women but he insisted it was very different with Maria Clara and he might fall in love with her actually.  Vilma met up with Barbara and gave her the news that her new husband Gilberto was no longer alive and that she could now go back to pursuing Lisandro assuming Maria Clara is out of the picture.  The first part of this is repeat of Friday.

Subject: Thursday episode-calmer than before Author: Orion (216.106.66.199) Date:   03-08-2002 00:27 Thursday's episode was somewhat calmer than the ones over the last 2 weeks or so with all the stuff about Maria Clara and the manicomio and then the kidnapping. The main part involved the part about whether Victoria would survive or not and the doctors believe she is in bad shape and Braulio felt regret for not being a good son to her. Victoria asked Braulio to promise to get tested to see if he has the HIV and when she looked like she was in real trouble Braulio promised her he would take the tests for her. Andrea is disenchanted with the fact that she has no success with the men and Braulio turned out to be a canalla and Erasmo came over to try to be a good father to her. He told her Braulio could be infected with HIV and asked her point blank if they had ever had sexual relations and she told him they had not and he was relieved. Later on at the hospital Erasmo told Braulio to stay away from Andrea and Braulio told him no way. Maria Clara went to the Serrano house to see her child Teresita but Barbara and Vilma refused to let her see the child and told her to leave and as the show was at the end Carlos Raul was standing there and it was unclear what he would do and so that will have to wait until Friday to see if Maria Clara gets to see Teresita after all. Florencio came up with an interesting plan to find out if the Turk was the one who stole the figurine and Florencio dressed up as a woman and Turk Alphonso was smitten and asked if they could go out and so apparently the plan started successfully as stupid as it seemed. Barbara hates the baby Teresita because of Maria Clara but as soon as Carlos Raul entered the room she suddenly became a loving mother and kept referring to Teresita as her daughter. Barbara told Vilma she hoped that after Ines delivers the baby to her she will convince Carlos Raul to move away from Miami and far away from Maria Clara. Maria Clara decided she would divorce Lisandro and she expressed bitterness towards him and she believed Lisandro didn't protect her and wasn't there for her when she needed him. She wanted nothing of the Serrano property and expressed possibly moving to Venezuela. Yesenia urged Maria Clara not to divorce Lisandro but after she insisted she would divorce him later on Yesenia urged Lisandro to leave Maria Clara behind but he would not hear of it. Coralia seemed to be in love with Erasmo at least the way she is acting about him. Lluvia told Luciano about how she was framed for trying to kill Alexander and told him there are people on the outside that are even worse than the prisoners on the inside.

Subject: Summary for Friday March 8 Author: Orion (216.106.67.115) Date:   03-08-2002 19:15 The first half was a repeat of the last half of Thursday's episode. A minor error which may not be important. Erasmo asked Andrea if she and Braulio had unproteced sex and I thought it was if they had sex period. So far they have not shown that anything has ever happened between them but what she told Erasmo was that she and Braulio hadn't had unprotected sex although as far as what we have seen they haven't shown them having it. I don't know if that error was relevant or not but at least this means that there is no danger of Andrea getting the HIV from Braulio if it turns out he is infected so that was the main point of the scene anyway. Maria Clara was at the Serrano house and trying to see Teresita but Vilma and Barbara refused to allow it and told her to leave. Barbara ran upstairs and closed the door behind her and vowed to never allow MC to have the child. Carlos Raul tried to appeal to her to relent but Barbara was adamant. Maria Clara left without seeing Teresita or the little pink dog Efigenia and Carlos Raul advised her to go to court and have the custody order overturned and do things the legal way. Coralia told her this is what they would do. Maria Clara then decided to go to Kendall and see how Victoria is doing and Andrea decided to accompany her so she can have a "friendly chat" with Braulio and poor Braulio is going to be in for it. Poor Braulio was refusing to discuss anything about any tests for HIV and told Reinaldo that he didn't need it in spite of his earlier promise to Victoria. Reinaldo then wanted to know what was the specific reason he kidnapped Maria Clara and Braulio refused to answer his question. Vilma told Barbara that Maria Clara could go to court and get the custody order overturned and this would upset her plans. Barbara then told her it would be necessary to have Maria Clara killed to prevent this but that it would have to be at a later time and have to look like an accident and not so close to the time of her kidnapping so as to look suspicious. Later Melisa visited Barbara and theorized about Teresita and told her that Maria Clara's "mental illness" could be genetically transferable and therefore Teresita would not be a normal baby. Barbara was already fully aware of Maria Clara's "mental incapacity" and this concern of Melisa's was not a worry to her. Barbara did tell Melisa though that the best thing for Maria Clara would be death although she didn't elaborate on that. Luciano told the directora at the women's prison that although he didn't know Lluvia all that well she seemed like a good person and not a hardened criminal. The directora told him all the prisoners claim to be innocent but Luciano was very certain of her sincerity and he requested that she continue as his assistant. The directora later called for Lluvia and she told her she should have faith in God and that if she were truly innocent ultimately justice would be done and she agreed to keep her as Luciano's assistant. Federica met Lisandro and she seemed very impressed with him. Later Federica warned Yesenia of the danger posed by falling in love with Lisandro and reminded her of what happened earlier with Carlos Raul. Yesenia though denied being in love with him. Lisandro received a visit from Vilma and she went into his office and sat on his lap and eagerly set out to resume her pursuit of him now that she believes Gilberto is dead.

Ines calls Bárbara, she is in labor. Bárbara tells Vilma they must deliver the baby themselves, without a doctor who would be a witness.

He later indicated they might consider some relationship beyond friendship but she was hesitant. Ines saw Barbara and Ricardo making out as it were on the couch and she was shocked by it. Ines declined to interrupt nor to tell anybody what she saw because she is expecting Larry to get the money from her very soon. Barbara and Ricardo made plans to see each other again and perhaps start some sordid affair and he seemed now taken by both MC and Barbara. Alexander went to Braulio's house and they were poolside. Braulio wasn't happy with him for copping out on the kidnapping of MC but Alex asked his forgiveness in the name of their long friendship and Braulio told him not to be a coward anymore. Alexander left to change into a swimming trunk and after he had left Melisa arrived. She told Braulio that she knew Lluvia was innocent after all. Melisa then told Braulio all about how she found out about Alex raping Lluvia and decided to shoot him and frame Lluvia for it. Alex had just finished changing and he was just outside without them seeing him and he overheard what Melisa said. Braulio didn't seem that upset that Alex was shot as part of her plan and he promised her he wouldn't tell Alex and that Lluvia wasn't fit for Reinaldo anyway. Alex felt betrayed by both of them and vowed they would pay. Vilma received yet another greeting from Gilberto and she wondered if she was starting to lose her mind. Barbara arrived home and acted like empty headed over Ricardo and she told Vilma she would have him as her new third party and she was going to do to Carlos Raul what he did to her in cheating. Ricardo went and bought a bunch of clothes for MC and brought them to her house in some sacks. The clothes weren't visible and they purportedly were to be a bunch of fancy dresses. Ricardo told MC her success was only beginning and more modeling agencies were interested in her. Braulio phoned Barbara and warned her he would destroy her if she abandoned him but Barbara told him he had out lived his usefulness to him and that she had already another lover to replace him with. Carlos Raul was really upset that Ricardo appears to be trying to win over MC and he complained to Yesenia about it and he admitted jealousy over what he believes is happening between them. Yesenia wasn't any help to him and told him he was caught in his own trap and he could do nothing. Gilberto told Elisa they were going to return to Miami to get revenge on his new wife for trying to murder him on their honeymoon. He said he would get a divorce and asked Elisa if she would marry him and she agreed. Ines was there and she told him she was now working there and he told her about Mariano being born. Ines asked him how the child was and he told her the baby was healthy and Ines was in tears but she kept mum to CR that the child was really hers. Vilma encountered Lisandro at poolside and she offered herself to him to help him get over the divorce with MC. Vilma kissed him and he reciprocated and Yesenia walked towards the pool and saw them together and she got upset and left. Coralia asked Andrea if she would attend the parade of models that Maria Clara would be featured in but Andrea would have no part of it and she angrily left the room. Ines was in Ricardo's artroom and she saw a painting all covered up and she wondered why. As she started to take it off and see the painting Ricardo came in and got angry with her and told her to stay away from it and she was scared by his behavior and she left the room. This had the painting of MC nude and he stood there and admired this "masterpiece" after Ines had left the room and remarked how he believed MC would be his. Melisa and Reinaldo set their wedding for the 21st of whatever month this was in when it was being filmed. Reinaldo didn't seem all that excited about it. Carlos Raul assured Yesenia that he didn't believe that Lisandro had any interest in Vilma whatsoever. He then asked Yesenia if she would accompany him to the parade of models as he had thought Barbara would never want to attend. She accepted although this appeared to be another attempt by CR to make MC jealous so CR still up to his old tricks. Barbara and Vilma did decide to attend the parade after all. They were both certain that MC would be a total failure at it and they thought it would be an enjoyment watching her fall flat on her face. Subject: Some details Author: Orion (216.106.66.82) Date:   04-02-2002 18:17 Melisa told Braulio the whole story at poolside just before the night Alexander killed her. Braulio then told the whole story to Victoria and she told it to Reinaldo. Luciano and Lluvia kissed each other but she pulled away from him because she still had feelings for Reinaldo. As for the kidnapping Victoria seemed concerned all about Braulio perhaps because of the possibility of him having AIDS. While it is understandable her concern for Braulio it does have disturbing aspects. It did seem insensitive on Victoria to ask Maria Clara to not testify against Braulio only minutes after he had been prepared to kill her and also when he had never really repented for it anyway. Victoria seemigly is blind to almost everything except her son Braulio and it has led to some arbitrary actions against Erasmo and Luciano which are not based on sound judgement or reason.

     3/29/02. Somebody calls Erasmo, tells him to read Elisa’s diary, page 60. He does and discovers that she cut Andrea’s face. When he tells Andrea, they confront Elisa who finally admits it. Andrea insists on filing charges. Yesenia agrees to marry Lisandro and he agrees to learn to love her. MC becomes a successful model. Ricardo proposes to MC, assures her he loves her. She says she will never love anybody but CR, couldn’t fall in love with Lisandro. Later, in bed with Bárbara, Ricardo tells her of course he didn’t mean it, he just wants to get her into bed. Lluvia and Luciano kiss. Victoria admits to her son that Lluvia is innocent, that Melisa confessed before dying and that Braulio knew. Ines, Bárbara’s maid tells MC that it was she and Vilma who caused her fall down the steps and not to trust Ricardo who is a good friend of Bárbara’s. MC doesn’t believe her, is sure that Ricardo is a good man. Erasmo kisses Coralia who turns away, but he is sure she responded and is happy.

4/1/02. Subject: Summary for Monday Author: Orion (216.106.66.193) Date:   04-01-2002 17:53 Carlos Raul asked Barbara if she would like for them to move away from Miami to Caracas and she was extremely thrilled by it and agreed to it so that they would be away from Maria Clara. Lisandro went to Yesenia's hotel room and he asked her to help him forget Maria Clara. They started kissing and it looked like they would make love but suddenly he pulled away from her. He said he knew he could never love any other woman besides Maria Clara. He vowed to win Maria Clara's love in spite of whatever his amigo Ricardo's wishes are for her. Yesenia was very upset and hurt by Lisandro's rejection and the apparent permanency of it. Victoria went to visit Lluvia hoping to tell her that she and Reinaldo both know she never shot Alexander and that Reinaldo wants her forgiveness. Victoria told her of how Melisa died and Lluvia expressed sympathy in spite of the things that were done to her. Lluvia refused to hear anymore from Victoria when she tried to bring up the subject of Reinaldo. When Reinaldo came personally to visit her and give her the news she outright refused to see him. Carlos Raul went to Maria Clara's home to let her know he planned to return to Venezuela but she refused to stop and talk to him because she was on her way to a modeling shoot. Gilberto entered the Serrano Zurburran house without anyone seeing him. Vilma was in her room alone and he appeared in the entryway and call her an assassin. Vilma was full of fear and fainted. Gilberto left the house also without being seen and Barbara entered the room and upon regaining consciousness Vilma told her Gilberto had been there but Barbara didn't believe her and thought it was a hallucination. Braulio encountered Larry in the bar and once again he asked him what the secret was that he had over Barbara's head. Larry said it was worth 1 million dollars but Braulio could only offer 300 grand. Braulio said though that Barbara would never pay him anything and urged him to let him use the information. Larry made a deal with him to sell him the info if Barbara failed to come through with the million dollars. Teresita was suffering from a high fever and Natalia told Barbara about it but Barbara was not interested. So Natalia called Carlos Raul and CR brought a medic with him and the medic told him that Teresita had pneumonia and prescribed treatment. Barbara smiled upon hearing of the pneumonia. They took Teresita to the hospital and Natalia informed Lisandro and Maria Clara. Maria Clara really impressed the modeling agency man and he told Ricardo he wanted her to work exclusively with his agency and a 2 year contract was signed. Barbara phoned Ricardo while he was driving MC home and she informed him of her and CR's planned move to Venezuela and he passed the message along to MC. MC is worried that Barbara will try to take Teresita away to Venezuela just out of spite towards her but Ricardo said he would help her. Victoria insisted that Braulio get the blood tests done and he tried to stall again but finally he agreed to go to the hospital. Braulio did the tests and the results were expected the next afternoon. Alexander came by and asked Braulio if they would go out with some women but Braulio told him he had a serious problem and confessed to him that he possibly could have AIDS. Teresita was taken to the hospital in Kendall and Carlos Raul prayed for the life of Teresita and asked for her not to suffer. CR believes in his heart that Teresita is his biological daughter. Barbara refused to inform Maria Clara about Teresita being taken to the hospital and actually was wishing the child would die and that the news would traumatize MC to the point she would go crazy and they could lock her up again in the sanitarium.

     4/5/02. MC finds Bárbara and CR kissing. In response to Bárbara’s gibes, MC tells her she feels pity since CR has never loved her, has repeatedly begged her (MC) to return to him. Braulio has apologized to MC, told Lisandro the truth about Bárbara’s trying to make MC crazy with the help of Claudio, and engineering of the kidnapping. Now he apologizes to Erasmo, asks him to return to the business. Reinaldo tells CR all that Braulio confessed about Bárbara’s actions. Furious, CR goes home, tells Bárbara he is leaving and takes his child. She admits she is guilty but explains that she did it for love. After he leaves, she falls down the stairs but is not badly injured. He tells Lisandro he is resigning from the hotel, tells Yesenia he is giving up his career (can’t play the piano without thinking of MC). He decides to care for his child and work his way up from the bottom. He begins to take a series of jobs as a laborer. In talking with Reinaldo, Braulio becomes convinced that it was Alexander who killed Melissa with a car. Ricardo visits MC, demands a kiss. When she resists, he insists. She slaps him. He looks furious.

     USA 4/8-12/02. Ricardo apologizes and MC accepts the apology. She tells Coralia she doesn’t want to marry him but doesn’t know what to do. At her grave, Lisandro’s wife appears to him and tells him he must save a woman from a man but doesn’t name names. Lisandro is sure she means MC and Ricardo. Ines tells MC that she saw Ricardo kissing Bárbara. Bárbara tells Lisandro she knows that she did wrong but it was for love. Bárbara tells Ricardo he must marry MC and make her his, by force if necessary. MC tells Lisandro she isn’t going to marry Ricardo. Reinaldo visits Lluvia in jail but she rejects him, says he didn’t believe in her. He swears he will get her out of jail. She tells him that she and Luciano are going to get married. Reinaldo tells his mother and Braulio that Lluvia has become hard, that he has lost her forever, that she is going to marry Luciano. Victoria feels sad; she left Luciano because Braulio asked her to not because she had stopped loving him. Lluvia tells Luciano what she told Reinaldo.

     MC tells Ricardo she is going to marry Lisandro. He says he has lost the battle but not the war. He attacks Ines, accuses her of telling MC about him and Bárbara, fires her, decides to use the portrait to ruin MC. Gilberto appears and tells Vilma he will get back at her; she escapes from him. A maid finds the letter for MC, calls her home and talks to Coralia who tells her how important the letter is and asks her to steal it. Lisandro tells Bárbara he is going to marry MC.

     The portrait is shown. Claudio kidnaps MC’s baby for Bárbara.

     CR goes racing to earn money. Bárbara asks MC to beg for her child’s whereabouts, then laughs. Yesenia’s sister tells her that she and Braulio are in love and will be careful.CR wins. Lluvia tells Luciano a romantic relationship makes no sense; they don’t love each other. She hopes they can remain friends. Luciano visits Victoria to say goodbye, he isn’t going to marry Lluvia, is going to Italy. She suggests they try again; he says no, after two rejections, he needs time to find himself.  CR learns that Teresita has been kidnapped. Lisandro accuses Ricardo of being involved; he denies it and Andrea believes him.

Subject: Highlights of April 15 Author: Orion (216.106.66.101) Date:   04-15-2002 19:23 Barbara had an apparent heart attack after having an argument with Carlos Raul where he asked her if she had anything to do with the disappearance of Teresita. Barbara was dying and the prognosis was questionable. She told Vilma to continue the campaign to destroy Maria Clara even if she dies and Barbara had no remorse for any past actions. Braulio and Federica told Yesenia that they were going to get married. Lluvia finally accepted Reinaldo's apology and they reconciled. Larry left Ines and took the money and went to Las Vegas to live the high life and Ines was out in the cold. Juliana said the cards revealed that Maria Clara wouldn't see her daughter for many years.

    Subject: Summary for April 16 Author: Orion (216.106.66.87) Date:   04-16-2002 17:34 It started at the time where it left off with Barbara suffering from the ill effects of her previous heart attack. Ricardo asked her if she knew anything about what happened to Maria Clara's baby but before she responded Vilma came in. Carlos Raul and Maria Clara were in the waiting room awaiting word of Barbara and Vilma accused them all of being hypocrites and wanting Barbara to die for their convenience. Lluvia appeared with a new hair style which is really one I like better than when she had it before and Victoria came by to tell her how sorry she and Braulio were for looking down on her for being poor and how mistaken they were about Melisa and that now she truly adored her.

     2 Years After Isolda was not doing very well in taking care of Daniela and was not treating her very well. Later she ran into Ines and Ines asked her if she knew where Larry was but Isolda just told her it seemed Larry got the million dollars from Barbara and was living the high life. Barbara won custody of Marianito and Carlos Raul was forced to deliver him over to her with Natalia still working there after all this time. Vilma was also still there with Barbara. Barbara asked Carlos Raul to move back in so he could see the child all the time but he declined that offer. Barbara though didn't really care about the child. Maria Clara was still engaged to Lisandro but would not marry him unless and until she finds her child again. Lisandro did offer to set her up her own shop though which she accepted. Carlos Raul came by to Maria Clara's home and told her how he still loved her in spite of the fact that they don't see each other often. CR told her of how he lost custody of Marianito and this puts them sort of in the same boat. She told him though that she would eventually marry Lisandro. Ines came to Barbara's house and told her she wanted the baby back that she had sold to her but Barbara refused. Ines did ask for her old job back though and it was agreed on the condition that she never reveal the truth about Marianito's true parentage.

     4 Years After That ( Total of 6 years after beginning of show ) Coralia and Erasmo were still around and still not married for the same reasons why she didn't want to get involved before. Maria Clara was still without her child and still engaged to Lisandro and putting it off for the same reason. Maria Clara did have her own store as a result of Lisandro's earlier offer which he apparently did in the interim. Daniela was praying for some new parents. Isolda told her that her natural parents didn't care for her and thought she was ugly and that was why she was left with her. Isolda was really very bad to her and really was totally unfit to be a parent based on how she treated her. Marianito was developing into a spoiled brat perhaps due to Barbara's influence though that is speculation. Barbara did not remember his birthday was to be the next day and he wanted to have a third bike and Barbara was unwilling but Carlos Raul came by and he said he indeed would get him another one. Barbara didn't care for Marianito at all and this was different from how CR felt about him. Marianito was rude to Ines and Barbara wanted to slap him but Ines stopped her and after he left the room Barbara warned her never to intervene again between herself and the boy. Lisandro urged Maria Clara to reconsider putting off their wedding until the child is found and told her the police had closed the case and it looked very bleak. MC's opinion remained unchanged on this though. Maria Clara and Carlos Raul encountered each other in front of the bicycle shop when CR was buying a bike for Marianito and MC was with Lisandro. On the other characters there was no word as to what they were doing at least not yet. No word yet on what happened to Andrea, Ricardo, Luna or Florencio. Also no word as of yet on the Valori family or about Braulio and Federica or Reinaldo and Lluvia or about Victoria or Luciano. Also nothing about yet about Alphonso or Gilberto or Alexander or Elisa although the latter 2 may or may not have been gone for good. Of course Larry left town earlier as per his agreement with Barbara to disappear. Basically though it seems like very little has changed in the total 6 year time period for the characters we saw today with of course the exceptions of Marianito and Daniela(Teresita) who have changed quite a bit as would be expected.

USA 4/18/02. Subject: RE: I need Help Author: Orion (216.106.66.50) Date:   04-18-2002 23:43   Federica asked Yesenia if she would take her place as Braulio's love interest after she passed away but Yesenia didn't want her to think that way. Reinaldo and Lluvia are happily married and living in Los Angeles and he is in charge of some gyms there and she is expecting a child. Larry gave Barbara a call to let her know he was back in town and she demanded to know why he called and Carlos Raul overheard her and asked her to whom she was speaking and Barbara claimed it was Vilma asking for financial help. It was revealed that Vilma was booted out after Gilberto implicated her to the police. Isolda gave Daniela more bad treatment and Daniela ran away from her and went into the streets to see if she could find her real parents. Vilma and Ricardo were in a bar and she spotted Larry in there and later on Vilma and Larry decided to make their own arrangement for Teresita and she suggested they can get Lisandro to pay them alot of money for information about the child. Barbara accused Carlos Raul of carrying on with Maria Clara behind her back but he insisted their earlier meeting at the toy store was only a coincidence. Ricardo asked Vilma who that man was at the bar that she was with but she declined to tell him and when he asked her if she and Barbara had anything to do with the kidnapping of Maria Clara's baby 6 years ago she told him they had nothing and that he should not be so curious because curiosity killed the cat. Isolda deliberately destroyed the doll of Daniela's that her friend Octavia had given to her and she made up her mind to get away from her forever. Later on Larry told his sister about the new plan to get money from Lisandro but when they went into her room the child had already fled. Maria Clara hung up on Carlos Raul when he asked if they could at least be friends and she didn't want his help in finding the child. Juliana came in and this time looked at her psychic cards and they told her someone wonderful would come into Maria Clara's life and this she interpreted as the return of her daughter.

Subject: If I didn't hate this novela before.. Author: Luis M. (205.188.192.189) Date:   04-18-2002 23:23 ..I hate it even more now. Not even the passing of the years have helped improved it's low quality script and bad acting. Some of the factors that have me ticked off the most are the following: - What the hell happened to Gilberto's revenge against Vilma? Why in the world is she still roaming around freely and happily after trying to murder countless people? - Federica's illness is completely unnecessary right now. The only thing I see it precipitating is Maria Clara to finally find out that she, Yesenia and Federica are her sisters.. but they've shown no inclination of that ever happening yet either. - The way they exaggerate how this Isolda lady is treating Teresita or Danielita or whatever you wanna call her. Ok, we get the point that the woman is a witch but must we watch so many heartbreaking scenes of this girl getting mistreated? Completely stupid and typical for a novela of bad quality. (i.e. Alma Rebelde) - This new girl Erica -- beautiful, works with Maria Clara, and what else? She hates her. Almost every woman in this novela has hated Maria Clara and half of the men have fallen in love with her. Give me a break -- PUH-LEASE. Even that minor character who worked with MC as a costurera got her in trouble with Barbara by cutting up her wedding dress for absolutely no reason -- Writers, I feel no sympathy for Maria Clara even though you insist on creating more enemies for her, as if she didn't have half the cast against her already. I don't know why I find myself watching this crap while I dog it everyday. It must be because I'm a Jorge Luis Pila/Gabriela Rivera (Federica) fan.. but it just gets worse and worse. I think the only reason most people are still watching is to see how all those nasty villains end up, cuz that's why I'm still there. I don't tune in everyday at 2pm to watch, but I do occasionally flip the channel there and see this atrocity of a novela. At this point, I don't think anyone cares if Maria Clara and Carlos Raul get back together. When will Fono Video ever learn.. hopefully their next production with Osvaldo Rios and Adamari Lopez will be different.

Subject: Vilma is now a fugitive Author: Orion (216.106.66.50) Date:   04-18-2002 23:30 As revealed in today's episode Vilma is no longer living at the Serrano house and Barbara and Lisandro booted her out of there because Gilberto did in fact go to the police and implicate her. So presumably she is forever in danger of being arrested. There is something still unknown that why Vilma wouldn't have implicated Barbara in some of her past actions after Barbara booted her out.

     4/19/02. Six years have passed since the start of the novela. Federica and Braulio are married but she is very ill with leucemia. Yesenia returns and visits Lisandro, tells him he can’t continue to wait for a woman who will never love hiim (he is still engaged to MC who won’t marry him until she finds her daughter). Vilma returns. Erica, Ricardo’s cousin, who works with/for MC is pleased that MC still shows no interest in CR. Ines can’t stand the way Bárbara treats her son Marianito or the way he is growing up: hard and cold. She confesses to Natalia that she is the boy’s real mother. Meanwhile, MC and her madrina almost run over a young girl on the street who tells them she has no parents and runs away. MC is strangely affected. Larry calls Bárbara to tell her that Danielita (Teresita) has run away. Danielita visits a church then walks some more, sees CR get out of a car, goes up to him and tells him he is her father. He takes her into her apartment, tries to find out who her parents are but she keeps saying that he is her father. Luna arrives, CR explains. Luna convinces him to let her stay until they locate her parents. Bárbara visits Larry and his sister and yells at them for letting the child escape. MC visits the same church that Danielita prayed in. Federica tells Yesenia to go to the movies with Braulio, he needs entertainment. CR sends roses to MC. She gives them away.

4/22/02. Subject: Brief Summary Author: Orion (216.106.66.145) Date:   04-22-2002 18:02 Luna went to a costume party with Alphonso after Andrea talked her into it because Florencio was out of the country anyway and Alphonso went as Superman and Luna went as Little Red Riding Hood and Andrea had obviously the best costume by far in my opinion as Catwoman and suffice to say it was a very nice costume and it was probably one of the most interesting parts. Florencio returned to Miami from Venezuela and told Coralia and Erasmo that the new restaurant had been a failure and that is why he came back. Florencio was upset that Luna went out with Alphonso to the party and Maria Clara told him where they could be found and he encountered Alphonso with them on the streets and Alphonso hit him and later on the police came and arrested all 4 of them and they spent the night in the jail and nobody knew where they were. Erika paid an unexpected visit to Carlos Raul's new home as she had gotten his address from the return address from when he sent flowers to Maria Clara,. She saw Danielita and she was stunned when the girl said she was CR's daughter and finally CR and Erika were introduced and he explained the background of the girl. It became more interesting when Barbara arrived and saw Danielita and Erika with CR and the little girl told Barbara that CR and Erika were her parents. For the longest time Barbara actually literally believed it and Erika enjoyed her confusion. Barbara told Erika that CR was hers just before Erika left. Barbara then grabbed Danielita and was trying to take her out of CR's home until he prevented her from doing so. Later on Erika told Ricardo that she planned on winning over CR and Barbara went to Ricardo's house and encountered Erika there and he introduced Erika as his cousin. After Erika left for work Barbara was furious and told Ricardo how upset she was at Erika's attentions to CR and then he asked Barbara why she even cared who CR sees because they had a relationship but Barbara told him that relationship would not change her feelings for CR and he seemed to be unhappy with Barbara for that. Yesenia told Braulio she was confused about her feelings for Lisandro and he urged her not to give up on Lisandro but Federica still wanted her sister to become involved with Braulio so he wouldn't be alone after she died. Calros Raul finally explained all the facts about Danielita to Barbara and this seemed to calm her nerves and then she asked CR if he would mind going on a trip to Italy with Marianito and he said he would like to take the boy but she wasn't to go along with them. Barbara then threatened to take Marianito on a trip far away and then unless he didn't come with her he may never see the boy again. Barbara later felt desperate that Larry and Isolda had been so incompetent in Danielita running away and she wanted to find a way to get CR to go with her and Marianito out of the country before the authorities catch up with her. Barbara talked with Vilma and Vilma told her that Danielita might be the child taken from Maria Clara 6 years earlier. Natalia urged Ines to take Marianito out of the Serrano house and away from Barbara and Ines agreed that would be a good idea and she went to the school gounds and saw him and prepared to do it. Carlos Raul kept asking Danielita where she came from and who her parents were but she wouldn't tell him. Despite her pleas CR took her to the police station to see if they could figure out where she belongs.

     4/22-26/02. Ines tells Lisandro that Bárbara’s son is hers. Ricardo admits to Andrea that he and Bárbara have been lovers for 6 years but it’s just a matter of sex, the needs of a single man. He suggests that they might be right for each other. Andrea tells him she has changed. Erica admits to MC that she loves CR. MR fires her. Lisandro tells CR the truth about his “son”. He also tells him that Teresita was his daughter. CR asks MC how she could hide the truth from him (I thought he’d know all along) but finally admits he has no right to judge her. Bárbara, having learned that Danielita (Teresita) is with CR, has a lawyer notify a judge that the child isn’t CR’s. Federica falls into a coma and Yesenia tells Braulio she has made funeral arrangements, asks him if he’s thought about what she asked before she went into the coma. He tells Yesenia he doesn’t love her and will never love a woman as he loves Federica. Luciano tells Victoria about Federica’s condition, comforts her and kisses her. Braulio sees them but later tells his mother he was wrong to object before and won’t now: she deserves to be happy. MC visits CR and is introduced to Danielita who asks to call her “mama”. They have dinner together. Then Erica arrives and after MC, Luna and the child leave, Erica tells CR she is jealous and they kiss. When Luna and Danielita return, Erica tells her she and CR will be her new parents. A happy MC tells her family about the child. Andrea prays that she will meet a young, handsome, single millionaire or, at least, a man with money in the bank. Ricardo tells Bárbara he is bored with her. She knows that she will never win back CR but swears that she will destroy him. Lisandro takes Yesenia out and they narrowly miss another car. Yesenia is fine but Lisandro hits his head on the steering wheel.

     4/29/02-5/3/02. ULTIMOS CAPITULOS. Yesenia cares for Lisandro, doesn’t tell MC or his family where he is. Federica dies and is cremated. Victoria tells Lisandro that Federica wanted Braulio to marry Yesenia. Lisandro tells Yesenia he will always support her. Meanwhile, Vilma, Larry and Isolde have kidnapped Danielita and CR is in jail. They are trapped at the top of a building under construction. Vilma calls Bárbara for help but she refuses. Ricardo and most of the others arrive, try to convince Larry not to throw the child down. MC exchanges herself for Danielita. Isolde surrenders. A sharpshooter shoots Larry and he falls, almost taking MC with him.

    The police sniper shot Larry just as he had agreed to let Maria Clara go and he was telling her there was something she had to know about Danielita. Larry fell to the concrete but his momentum caused Maria Clara to slip and nearly fall off the building and she was hanging on the edge and struggling to keep from falling. Ricardo came and pulled her up and she was safe and Larry was taken away by the police.

    Barbara went to visit Carlos Raul in jail and she offered to pay his bail and provide him with legal assistance and all he had to do was return to her as husband and leave Erika and Maria Clara behind forever. Carlos Raul rejected her offer and said he would beat the charges on his own and that never would he return to her. Barbara cursed him and vowed that if she couldn't have him no other woman could.

    Ines tried to get Marianito to play with her but he only saw her as a servant but he did like Alphonso and enjoyed his company. Ines got a call from Natalia and Ines was shocked to see that Larry being taken away by the police for kidnapping on television.

    Maria Clara took Danielita to her home to live until Carlos Raul gets out of jail and she was still unaware of the child's true identity. Maria Clara decided to go see Carlos Raul.

    Barbara returned to the Serrano house and Natalia informed her about the ordeal with the child ending and that Larry and Isolda had been arrested. Natalia told Barbara that Larry was not killed only wounded which didn't please Barbara and also Natalia remembered seeing Larry at the house 6 years ago and asked her about it but Barbara told her to stop asking questions. Barbara learned that Larry had been taken to the hospital in Kendall.

    Lisandro went to Maria Clara's home and Coralia told him all about what happened with Danielita and Maria Clara and also that Carlos Raul had been arrested. Lisandro told her about what happened to Federica.

    Erasmo told Victoria and Braulio all about the ordeal with Maria Clara and that the man arrested was called Larry and Braulio remembered him as the same man that offered to sell him information about Barbara years ago.

    Maria Clara visited Carlos Raul in jail and Erika was already there. Earlier Erika didn't seem happy to see MC saved from falling and perhaps would have preferred to see her fall. Erika surprised Maria Clara by telling her that Carlos Raul was planning to marry her and CR also was surprised himself because he didn't know he was planning to marry Erika either. MC told her though that Barbara was his owner and anyway MC had rejected all of CR's offers to return to Venezuela with him and so that showed that she didn't care anymore.

    Barbara went to the hospital in Kendall and saw Larry had a police guarding the entry to his room. So she resourcefully got herself a nurse's uniform and the cop saw her and thought she didn't look too dangerous so the gladly let her into the room. While alone Barbara prepared to smother Larry to death with a pillow and later on she planned to find a way to get rid of Isolda so she would not be connected to the kidnapping. A doctor came in and interrupted her though and at least he believed she really was a nurse and she wasn't arrested but her chance to kill Larry had been foiled.

    Florencio was still angry at Luna for going to the costume party with Luna and he demanded she leave his house and forbid her from ever visiting again and the others were upset with Florencio was being like that with Luna.

    Braulio went to Barbara' s house and he asked her what the secret was that Larry had over her and she told him it was about the child that she bought from Ines and that Larry was the father. Braulio then asked if Barbara was also involved in the kidnapping of the child and Barbara denied it completely.

    Andrea went to Ricardo's house to thank him personally for saving Maria Clara's life earlier and Coralia believed she was falling in love with him. However, Andrea still doesn't trust him very much and she told him he would have to change more and he wondered why women were so possessive as strange as that sounded given how possessive he was earlier with Maria Clara.

    Luciano came to Victoria's house and told her he would like to get back together with her. He told her he had met many girls but none of them could replace her and Victoria told him how she had missed him so much for those years and that she was 6 years older than before and she worried about age difference but Luciano said that age didn't matter and they were back together.

    Lisandro went to see Carlos Raul in the jail and told him he would pay his bail because he knew Maria Clara would want that and in part because he felt badly for what Barbara did to him.

    Erika barged into Maria Clara's home and demanded that Danielita be given over to her to stay with her in spite of MC's telling her earlier at the jail that the child would stay at Florencio's.

     Lisandro puts up bail for CR. Vilma ties up Bárbara and steals her jewels. Bárbara succeeds in killing Larry in the hospital. On reading the news, Braulio is sure it was Bárbara but Lisandro and MC assume it was Vilma. The police tells Isolde that her brother was killed. CR is afraid that he will lose Danielita. Lisandro asks MC to marry him now. She again says she can’t until she finds her daughter. He asks if that means they must wait another 7 years, realizes that there is no hope, tells her it is over between them. The gardener digs up a box and in it Natalia finds the letter Bárbara hid from MC. Natalia gets permission to take the afternoon off, is determined to give the letter to MC. Erica threatens Danielita to support her or else.

     Braulio wants to talk with Isolde. Victoria tells him that Luciana wants them to reconcile. Braulio tells her that’s ok. Barbara tells Lisandro that if she can’t have CR nobody can, hopes he’ll spend the rest of his life in jail. Then she runs into Ines, but they’re seen and Lisandro arrives in time to protect Ines. Bárbara begs CR to forgive her but he refuses. Vilma applies for a job as an executive secretary and gets it, goes to work for Gustavo and drugs him as soon as possible. Bárbara visits Isolde in jail and Isolde accuses her of killing her brother. Bárbara swears she didn’t kill him, offers her her freedom for her silence. When CR asks Danielita who she wants as her mother, Danielits recalls Erica’s threats and says Erica. Ramiro, Erica’s husband, calls her. She tells him she plans to marry another; they’ve been separated for 2 years but not divorced.  Erica tells Ricardo it was nobody, but he thinks she is hiding something. Danielita calls MC, asks her not to let CR marry the bad Erica.

USA, 5/6-10/02. Victoria and Luciano reconcile. He tells her he wants to adopt children and she agrees. Isolde refuses to tell Braulio anything and he guesses that Bárbara has paid her off. Luna tells CR that Erica threatened Danielita. MC finally gets the letter, reads it, learns that she is Yesenia’s sister and takes it to her. The maid hears Bárbara tell Erica why she was unhappy with CR and her desire to make him unhappy. Ricardo apologizes to Andrea for trying to treat her like all the others, asks for another chance, wants to change his life.

Subject: Summary of Monday May 6 Author: Orion (216.106.66.36) Date:   05-06-2002 17:37 Danielita told Maria Clara all about how Erika used threats against her to try to get her to support her marrying Carlos Raul including theatening to have him put in prison and MC told her she wouldn't let any of that happen. Erika went out sun bathing by the pool and thought about what a big mistake it was to marry Ramiro but she would do whatever it took to win Carlos Raul. Maria Clara came over to her at the pool and she shoved Erika in the pool and warned her not to make threats against the little girl again or else. Carlos Raul came to see Mariantio and he told him that he was not his real father and that Barbara was not his real mother either and that Ines was his mother. Marianito refused to accept Ines as his mother because he sees her as a lowly servant. CR took Marianito to live with him and Danielita and he introduced the two of them but Marianito didn't like Danielita either and later on he was not very friendly with MC although he had acted like the liked her before when he met her at the shop. Barbara had a verbal skirmish with Lisandro and scoffed at Lisandro that he continued to be with Maria Clara although she would never love him and Lisandro told Barbara of her bizarre behavior towards Carlos Raul and her wanting him to be imprisoned so no other woman can have him either and this was obsession not love, etc. Braulio visited Isolda at the jail but she did not incriminate Barbara as he hoped because those 2 had a deal. Natalia handed the letter to Lisandro and told him this was the letter sent by Padre Alberto from Venezuela years before but stolen and hidden by Barbara. Lisandro brought it to MC's home and handed it to her. Victoria and Luciano decided they would be together for the rest of their lives and he suggested they could adopt children. At the dinner Yesenia and even Braulio were urging them to get married and Victoria said that would be done after Lluvia gives birth to Reinaldo's baby later on. Barbara paid a visit to Maria Clara and told her she would never allow CR to divorce her and so MC would have to commit adultery to have anything with CR and then she had a verbal exchange with Andrea and she regarded Andrea as some peasant from the barrios of Caracas. Andrea lafer advised MC that she should not marry Lisandro and she should try to be happy with CR because it is what she wants. Andrea and Ricardo had their first official date apparently and she allowed him to kiss her even. Erika continued on with wanting to win CR and she went shopping with him and she prepared a meal for him and Danielita and Marianito. Luna was at MC's home and telling her how bad Erika was with Danielita and Florencio walked in and he was furious at Luna for coming to his house because earlier had forbidden her from setting foot in his house because he thinks she betrayed him. Luna went to Carlos Raul's home and there she decided to tell CR all about the threats Erika made against Danielita and even against CR himself if things didn't go her way. Lisandro was thinking that perhaps MC would never return the love he felt for her and so he considered trying to forget her and move on. Natalia gave him the letter originally intended for MC from Venezuela and he brought it over to MC and handed it to her personally.

Subject: Summary of May 8 Author: Orion (216.106.66.163) Date:   05-08-2002 19:12 Maria Clara handed Yesenia the letter and Yesenia read it and found out they are sisters with the same biological father. They decided to try to be friendly and make up for all the time lost when they didn't know they were related. MC told her she would be willing to break her engagement to Lisandro for her but Yesenia didnt' want her to do that for her because she would want Lisandro to love her on his own. Andrea told Juliana at the beauty salon about her unhappiness at love and later on Ricardo came to see her at Florencio's home and he asked her to forgive him and promised to change and wanted them to be novios but she just said she would think about it and that was the best answer he would get for the moment. Barbara and Erika went to see a judge and after he listened to their arguments he isssued an order to have Danielita physically removed from Carlos Raul's home and placed in the care of protective services. Natalia overheard the 2 of them brag about what they had done and she told Andrea about what Barbara and Erika had done. Later on Maria Clara was informed and she decided to try to hide Danielita at Florencio's and she brought the child to her home. Barbara though told the judge that if Danielita weren't found at CR's place he may be able to find her at MC's home. The judge arrived personally to execute the order(This is not normally done in the United States system of justice) at MC's and Danielita was in the park with Andrea, Coralia and Erasmo. MC and CR both told the judge that Danielita wasn't there at MC's home but Danielita arrived home with the others and so the judge was now aware of where the child is. Danilieta told Marianito that it was important for him to love his mother even if she is a servant and she was finally able to get through to him miraculously and so she called Ines and eventually Marianito went to the hotel and saw Ines and now he accepts and loves Ines as his mother. Ramiro paid a surprise visit to Erika and he again threatened to have her prosecuted for bigamy although he really loved her and he wanted her to return with him. She told him she probably would return with him but only after her little venganza against CR was completed. Erasmo told Andrea she did the right thing with Ricardo although he said perhaps Ricardo may change his ways someday. Later on Erasmo once again asked Coralia if she would marry him but she came up with a long list of reasons such that they should wait. Braulio decided that he was going to try once again to get through to Isolda so she can denounce Barbara and he wanted to hound Barbara. Victoria was very concerned about his preoccupation with Barbara.

Subject: Summary of Thursday May 9 Author: Orion (216.106.66.220) Date:   05-09-2002 18:36 The judge took Danielita out of Maria Clara's home. Later on he questioned her about where she came from. Danielita finally told him she was raised by a woman called Isolda Garcia and that the woman treated her badly and had told her that her real parents said they never wanted her. Carlos Raul and Maria Clara were surprised to see the judge playing with the girl and she managed to charm him and referred to him as her "grandfather." CR and MC asked if he could go ahead and adopt her but he said the investigations would have to be made but he decided to let her stay with his wife at his house so she could stay with her "grandparents" while the investigation was underway. Braulio went to see Isolda at the prison and he told her she could not expect any help at all from Barbara and in fact may be in danger from her and she should cooperate with the authorities before it is too late. Later on Isolda thought very seriously that indeed she couldn't trust Barbara and that it would be good to incriminate Barbara to finish her for good. Vilma got yet another job this time caring for a man that was supposed to be paralyzed but he turned out to be quite active and he tried to make a move on Vilma and he chased her around but she outwitted him and tripped him and he fell down and he was in no condition this time and she stole his money. So this man was smarter than the prior 2 men but the result was the same. Yesenia told Lisandro she was returning to Paris soon so she can forget him and he tried to tell her to stay because Maria Clara would need her after finding out she is her sister. Lisandro kissed her and then pulled back and apologized to her and told her to try to forget him but remain in Miami but she was determined to leave soon. Later Braulio told Yesenia to wait about a month because he was convinced that Isolda would soon spill her guts about Barbara and perhaps MC could soon discover the whereabouts of her daugher and Yesenia decided to wait a little while longer. Erika and Barbara were bragging about how they had arranged for Danielita to be taken away from Carlos Raul by the judge's order and Ricardo overheard them. He told Erika to move out and she was shocked by how he was her cousin and that was the reason he couldn't do this to her. Barbara couldn't understand why he was acting like a saint all of a sudden and he said he would never do anything bad to a child like they did and Barbara told him about his painting of MC and the aftermathsj of that and he said he was repentant of that and she couldn't believe what he was saying. Erika asked Barbara if she would let her stay at the Serrano house but Barbara told her to get lost and that she didn't need her as an ally anymore and Erika was more crushed. So Erika went to her husband Ramiro to his room at the hotel and asked if she could stay with him because she had no job or money or place to stay. Ramiro was reluctant at first but then he said he would help her only if she apologized to Carlos Raul and tried to help him and rectify the damage she had done. Erika phoned Carlos Raul and apologized to him and he agreed to meet her at a restaurant. Luna and Florencio found themselves alone at his home after everyone had gone out and Lisandro asked Maria Clara to go out to dinner with him to relax after their long day. Luna and Florencio were still not ready to leave past disputes behind yet so they did not make up. Erika told CR she wanted to help him reunited with MC because he loved her and it was the right thing to do. Erika's plan involved making Maria Clara jealous and this would make her jump right back into his arms. Lisandro and Maria Clara happened to be having dinner at the same restaurant and they arrived. Erika told CR this was the time to set their plan in action and so they acted all loving and CR was kissing Erika's hand and MC saw them and was not pleased.

     Braulio surprises Bárbara on her way into the prison to see Isolde. CR tells MR he is going to marry Erica. Erica pretends to be helping CR make MC jealous. Isolde tells Braulio that Danielita is Teresita and tells him the whole story, including the roles of Bárbara and Vilma. Erica tells MR she is going to Miami with her husband Ramiro.  But she also tells MC she is going to take CR away from her. Braulio visits Bárbara, accuses her of kidnapping children and killing Larry, says he will denounce her to the police. They fight and Bárbara escapes but is hit by Lisandro’s car.   Ricardo visits Andrea.

USA 5/13-17/02. GRAN FINAL 5/23.  Subject: Poor Barbara-Summary for May 13  Author: Orion (216.106.67.169)  Date:   05-13-2002 17:57  It was a rather sad episode for Barbara to end up the way she did because Carlos Raul was party responsible for the situation she was in.

In contrast to Roxana in "Amigas y Rivales" who after numerous sadistic murders and last second more mayhem she ends up in a sanitarium albeit with her face burned but this was far too kind considering the massive damage she did.

    Barbara was saying strange things and she told Lisandro that she and Carlos Raul had three children named Marianito, Teresita and Danielita. Barbara was scared of Lisandro and refused to believe he was her brother. Barbara asked Lisandro to bring Carlos Raul to her hospital room. When CR arrived Barbara didn't seem to recognize him either. Finally Barbara seemed to regain some of her memory and she then recalled that Teresita was Maria Clara's daughter and she believed CR wanted to kill her so he could be free of their marriage.

    Father Alberto came to Miami to see Maria Clara and he arrived at her home and Andrea and Ricardo were there and she introduced the priest to the doctor and then told him that she and Ricardo would get married. Andrea also told Coralia and Juliana this news and I don't recall ever seeing him ever ask her but apparently it must have happened while there were no cameras filming.

    Father Alberto later found Maria Clara at the shop and he told her about Andrea and Ricardo's wedding and then yet another surprise wedding announcement was made as Luna told him that she and Florencio were to marry. Later MC told the priest that she hadn't stopped loving CR but his behavior as of late really didn't please her and so she didn't know what kind of future she could have given his past deceits.

    Barbara asked CR to go ahead and kill her because she thinks she is evil and deserves it and it would alleviate her suffering. CR told Barbara though that he pitied her because she destroyed herself. Barbara then returned yet again to say that she and CR had 3 children in spite of her earlier memory coming back. Luciano called Victoria to tell her that Barbara had lost her rationality.

    Lisandro wanted to tell Carlos Raul about Danielita being Teresita but he didn't have the chance when CR left the area to go see Barbara and he called MC to arrange to talk to her and reveal it to her but Braulio convinced him that the time wasn't right or something like that so he held off telling her.

    Barbara told CR all the things she did to Teresita were to punish him and MC for him refusing to love her even after all the things she offerred him. Barbara told him of how she and Braulio and Vilma worked to try to make MC committed to a sanitarium and how she sent Braulio to kidnap her and this was all for the love of CR. Finally Barbara told CR she would give him a divorce because she didn't have the strength left to fight anymore and MC had beaten her.

    Ramiro told Erika he hoped she would not get too comfortable with her role as CR's girlfriend but she said it was only pretend with CR and now she wanted only Ramiro and she kissed him and he was happy that he had gotten her back.

    CR asked Barbara for help for him and MC to get Teresita back and asked her what she did with the child. Barbara said she paid an evil man to kidnap Teresita years ago and left it up to him where to keep the child. CR asked the name but Barbara didn't respond and instead went back into a bizarre conversation and asked CR whether she or MC was the real mother of the child.

    Danielita told the judge that CR was the best father in the world and she never wanted to be sent back to live with Isolda again but her assured her that Isolda was in prison for her crimes and the child need not worry about that. After the child went to bed, the judge's wife asked if they could adopt her because she had grown quite fond of the girl but he said it would not be possible and that if CR could prove he didn't kidnap Danielita it would be wise for CR to adopt her.

    At Florencio's home there were several people there and they all talked about the latest news about Barbara's tragic lapse into madness. Coralia thought that Barbara got exactly what she deserved but Ricardo felt sorry for Barbara because locura was a bad thing to happen to anyone and Florencio agreed with that. Andrea agreed with Coralia that Barbara did so many horrible things that merited her ending up in her condition. Maria Clara finally said she took no joy from the misery of what had happened to her archenemy Barbara and Victoria told her she had a good heart. Father Alberto heard all of this and decided he would go visit Barbara to see if he could meet her and find a way to understand her and perhaps help her see the error of her ways although in her state it would seem to be difficult.

    Carlos Raul arrived and he and Maria Clara went into her bedroom so they could talk. CR said that Barbara finally consented to the divorce so they could be together. MC though said she was engaged to Lisandro and gave him her word so she didn't think it would be right to back out even though he told her she didn't love Lisandro. MC also said that CR had Erika but he revealed to her that it was all a ruse on his part to make her jealous and that Erika would reconcile with her husband so nothing else stands in the way of them getting together. And so the ball is in MC's court so to speak.

     5/14/02. Bárbara thinks she is MC. Yesenia offers to help Lisandro. CR tells MC that He was just pretending with Erica. Valeria meets Ramiro in a bar. He tells her that he is married and very much in love with his wife. Braulio tells Victoria and Erasmo that Danielito is Teresito. Ramiro introduces himself to Ricardo, asks him to forgive Erica. Bárbara asks to see MC, for makeup.

     5/15/02. MC tells Yesenia and Luciano that Bárabara needs help. Ricardo tells Erica he met her husband, suggests they forget the past. When Ramiro arrives, Ricardo invites them to stay with him. Bárbara escapes from the hospital and goes to Vilma. Vilma gives Bárbara a gun and tells her to kill MC. Lisandro tells CR that Danielita and Teresita are the same child, that MC doesn’t know yet. CR tells the judge who tells him he can’t return the child.

     5/16/02. Victoria tells Lisandra that Yesenia loves him, that MC never will, that he can’t force love. But Lisandro tells her he loves MC and is sure one day she will love him. Vilma steals money from Ramiro. Ricardo proposes to Andrea, says he wants lots of children right away. She tells the padre but is worried, not quite sure. The judge tells CR he has gotten proof that Danielita is Teresita so he can tell MC. CR is reluctant because MC is committe to marrying Lisandro 2 days after finding her daughter but the judge tells him he must tell her. He visits MC and tells her the news.

Coralia assured her it was only a nightmare in spite of how real it seemed. At the strip club Vilma snuck into Ramiro's dressing room and she stole his money and watch. Ramiro interrupted her and asked what she was doing back there. Erika knocked on the door from outside and Vilma was worried that she could turn her into the police is she saw her there. When he opened the door Erika had gone back into the regular area. Ramiro offered to introduce her to his friends but she knew who they were and that they could incriminate her and so she fled. Ramiro discovered his things were missing and that "Valeria" was a thief and he told his friends about it and Ricardo told him it could be Barbara's cousin Vilma. Victoria urged Lisandro not to marry MC and give Yesenia a chance to make him happy. Lisandro insisted that he was patient and in time MC would come to love him. Vilma showed Barbara all the stuff she stole from Ramiro. She asked Barbara if she went over and killed MC yet and Barbara then said she really was MC and Vilma was not happy with her craziness and she again urged her to kill MC. Ricardo said that he also wanted to have some children with Andrea and she wasn't ready for that yet and Andrea asked Father Alberto what he thought about the subject. Maria Clara told Luna that she would marry Lisandro because she gave him her promise and felt bound by it although she wished she could get out of it. Lisandro told Carlos Raul about Barbara running from the hospital. Barbara finally made her way to MC's home and she saw Andrea and Ricardo and acted like she didn't recongnize them and apparently left. Braulio told Carlos Raul that he and Victoria both wanted to see him and MC married to each other. Carlos Raul took Danielita to the park and thought about how MC would marry Lisandro as soon as her daughter reappeared. The girl slipped and fell while trying to go up to the slide and he took her to the hospital. Barbara returned to Vilma's place without killing MC and Vilma asked her why she hadn't done it yet. Barbara told her she couldn't do it because it would cause her to go crazy. Luciano assured CR that the girl was alright and CR decided to inform MC of her accident. The judge told his wife that Isolda confessed to the police that her brother kidnapped Teresita and therefore he had enough proof that Danielita is in reality Teresita and this entitled CR to full legal rights. MC came to the hospital and the child was happy to see both her and CR together. She wanted them to marry but CR said MC intended to marry another man. The girl wasn't happy with this and she said CR was the best man for her and CR clearly enjoyed all the support she was giving him for MC. The girl encouraged MC to kiss CR and of course CR said that was a good idea and MC agreed and they were about to kiss when Luciano entered to inform CR that the judge had come to see him. The judge told CR that Isolda confessed to the police and the proof was established to entitle him to legal rights to the child and so he could now officially be a father to the child. Ines and Marianito said goodbye to Lisandro and said they were moving from the hotel and moving in with Alphonso. Alphonso told Lisandro that he liked Ines and wanted to have her as a girlfriend someday and he had gotten over Luna thanks to her. Andrea decided to bathe in milk and buy all sorts of things on advice from her friends at the salon so that she can keep Ricardo in love with her and Coralia was worried that she was into more magic stuff but Andrea said this stuff was different. Vilma still has aspirations for winning over Lisandro and that makes her a little crazy perhaps. Vilma figures that she can manipulate Barbara easily to kill MC so that Lisandro will be available for her. Carlos Raul went into the hospital room where the child was and he revealed to Maria Clara and her that Danielita was in fact their daughter Teresita who had been kidnapped seven years ago.

     Danielita is happy to know that MC and CR are her real parents. MC tells CR that she loves him but will marry Lisandro in 2 days. Yesenia helps buy MC’s wedding dress, but also helps CR get a horse. AS MC walks down the aisle, Bárbara and Vilma drive up and CR arrives on a white horse. In the church Erasmo hands MC to Lisandro, Yesenia and Braulio look on, Andrea and Ricardo hold hands. Bárbara walks down the aisle and points a gun at MC.

     USA 5/20-24/02. Braulio gets the gun away, Bárbara escapes. The wedding resumes but CR arrives on a horse and MC goes off with him. They go to a beach, declare their love, have a sort of mini-honeymoon. Yesenia tells Lisandro she loves him. He resigns himself to having lost MC, realizes that CR is her real love. Braulio catches Bárbara, returns her to the insane asylum where she continues to think she is MC. She asks Lila for a sewing machine and Lisandro, whom she thinks is her husband, brings her one. Lila tells him that she is happy in her insanity. Teresita tells Lisandro he will be her uncle. Erasmo announces that, if Andrea and MC agree, he and Coralia will marry. They, of course, are thrilled. Vilma meets Angel and believes herself to be in love. When he tells her he made a fortune racing cars but has never found love, until now, she is thrilled. He proposes and she accepts.

     Lisandro visits Bárbara in the asylum, tells her he is going to Mexico. She tells him she grew up poor in Caracas, then came to Miami, that Mexico must be beautiful. After he leaves, she says he seems very unhappy, wonders why he called her his sister, must be crazy. Andrea agrees to give Ricardo a child after they are married. Luciano tells Victoria he has arranged for their wedding in 15 days, then an adoption. Braulio and Erasmo approve. MC and CR learn that Lisandro is leaving and say good-bye to him. MC calls Yesenia who is planning to leave for Paris and make plans. Yesenia sits down next to Lisandro on the plane.

     GRAN FINAL. Andrea and Ricardo talk about finally finding love. He promises to be a faithful husband and loving father. CR visits Bárbara, calls her MC, tells her that Teresita is safe at home, that Bárbara has gone away with her brother Lisandro, that they will marry just as soon as she is better. While waiting for Angel to get ready to attend a concert, Vilma opens a drawer and finds a news article which frightens her: it is about the search for a psychopathic serial killer who chops up women. Angel finds her reading it, says two of the women are buried in the hotel’s garden, he had planned to kill her after the concert but...and proceeds to raise the hatchet. Braulio walks alone on the beach. It has been a month since Francisca died and he is sure he will never love again. The HIV virus leve in his blood is undetectable, he has learned to live with it but not without her. Padre Alberto tells CR he will be staying in Miami for a while. MC and CR are just waiting for the divorce to be finalized in order to marry. The doctors say there is no cure for Bárbara’s insanity. Teresita is baptized. At the party afterwards, Alfonso dances with Ines. Luna thinks it is too bad that Vilma will never be punished for all the bad she did. Bárbara pretends to sew all day. Angel enters a jail cell and introduces himself to Alexander Rios, tells him he was condemned to life imprisonment for butchering women, the last of whom was named Vilma. Alexander recalls a Vilma but doesn’t believe it could be the same person. Months pass. MC gets ready for her civil ceremony. Andrea tells her not to be nervous, getting married is wonderful. She is nervous only about giving birth (she is 6-months pregnant).  Yesenia and Lisandro are working in Mexico and are still just friends but Yesenia has hope. Erika is pregnant; she and Ramiro are thrilled.  CR and MC are married. Luna announces that she and Florencio will be married in 5 days. MC and CR sit on a sailboat. FIN.

     Y ya se nos acabo anoche la telenovela, pero les cuento que el final estuvo de pelìcula...

     Yessenia se fuè en el vuelo que iba a hacer Lisandro para irse a mèxico y olvidarse de una vez por todas de Marìa Clara. alli, ella le dijo que su destino era estar con el para toda su vida; que lo iban a intentar y de seguro iban a ser felices los dos. Carlos Raùl fuè hasta el manicomio donde tenìan internada a Bàrbara. ella no hacía otra cosa que repetir hasta el cansancio que ella era la costurera, le dijo que al fín iban a estar juntos, y por su puesto, carlos raúl le siguió la corriente. pero fue una escena tan conmovedora que carlos raul terminó llorando por bárbara Serrano Zulbarán. luego y después de siete años de matrimonio con Bárbara ella fue declarada incapacitada por su locura, y el juzgado le concedio el divorcio inmediato para que al fín se pudiera casar con María Clara. Florencio le pidió matrimonio a luna y ella feliz de la vida lo aceptó. Inés y el turco Alfonso decidieron ser novios, para despues casarse, el turco le prometió a Inés que sería el mejor padre para Marianito; su hijo.

     Coralia aceptó casarse con Herasmo Ferrer; Andrea y el doctor Ricardo decidieron casarse, y el le prometió que la haría muy feliz y dejaría de ser picarón y un don juan. Vilma había decidido renunciar a su vida de ladrona y casarse con el corredor de carreras "Angel" que conoció en el bar. llegó el periódico y ella vió una noticia de que el famoso angel era un asesino en serie; ella decia "dios mio, que orror ,esto no puede ser verdad, algo tan monstruoso" cuando ella voltió hacia atras se apareció el angel y la mató a hachazos... !!!que crueldad verdad, ella que era un exito total y rotundo!!!! no se lo merecia.

     Danielita fué reconocida por sus padres María Clara y Carlos Raúl. Braulio se fué a caminar en la playa dándole gracias a dios, porque supuesta y milagrosamente "Fue curado del vih" (que les parece) pero quedó solito. Victoria y Luciano, luego de tantos años se casaron y decidieron adoptar a un niño para tener así una familia de verdad.

     Luego, y al fín despues de siete largos meses de esta telenovela María Clara Carbajal y Carlos Raúl Fonseca SE CASARON por el civil. solamente. ella se convirtió en "La señora de Fonseca" y estaba muy feliz por eso. despues de la fiesta de bodas ellos se fueron a dar un paseo en bote por el mar, con danielita su hija (Teresita) maría clara le decia "no lo puedo creer, al fin carlos raul, despues de sufrir tanto por nuestro amor mi sueño se halla cumplido realidad, soy la esposa de hombre que amo" y carlos raul le respondio "ahora si, mi maria clara, esto sera para siempre. ya nada ni nadie podrá separarnos..." y en ese bello paisaje, juntos los tres, decidieron disfrutar de su felicidad al máximo.... FIN.

Por la noche llega Carlos Raúl, éste se porta cortante y se va. El Norte, 11/17/02:, El Universal, 11/17/02: TV Azteca, 11/18-22/02: Florencio le pide a Carlos Raúl que se olvide de María Clara y busque reconquistar a su esposa, por lo que éste va a la hacienda para hablar con Bárbara e intentar una reconciliación. En el momento en que llega Carlos Raúl, ella tiene un pequeño incidente y aprovecha la situación para pedirle que no la abandone. Carlos Raúl le jura no volverla a dejar.  Braulio es dado de alta y sabiendo de la crisis matrimonial de Bárbara, la busca para que sean amantes. Amado trata de abusar de María Clara pero ella se defiende enterrándole unas tijeras, Amado la culpa ante la policía de intento de asesinato y es detenida.  Carlos Raúl intenta ayudar a María Clara pero ésta lo rechaza por haber traicionado su amor. Por su parte, Lisandro, al saber que ésta se encuentra en problemas, la visita en la cárcel y le ofrece su amistad además de pagar la fianza.  Braulio sorprende a su madre dando dinero a Amado, su Chofer. Éste le pide una explicación pero Amado, al sentirse descubierto, le confiesa que su madre tiene un amante. María Clara lo escucha y lo desmiente defendiendo a Victoria quien al saberlo despide a Amado. Prudencia la abuela de Bárbara tiene un accidente que la deja paralítica. María Clara se entera del incidente y para agradecer a Lisandro por la ayuda brindada en la cárcel decide visitarla. En el hospital, se encuentra con Carlos Raúl y se besan.  Coralia le confiesa a Florencio que María Clara y Andrea no son hermanas, ya que sólo una es hija de su comadre Teresa y la otra fue una recogida al quedar huérfana . El Universal, 11/24/02: TV Azteca, 11/25-29/02: María Clara va a la corte por intento de asesinato, ella argumenta que Amado intento violarla por lo que tuvo que defenderse, la corte la absuelve del cargo y Amado es sentenciado por intento de violación.  Carlos Raúl conoce a Federica, una promotora musical, que al escucharlo tocar lo anima para iniciar una carrera como pianista en ese momento, llega Bárbara y le arma una  Para reconciliarse, Bárbara y Carlos Raúl se van a la hacienda para tratar de salvar su matrimonio pero Braulio. Lisandro le confiesa a María Clara estar enamorado de ella, ésta lo rechaza argumentando que son de distintas sociedades.  Victoria corre a María Clara gracias a los chismes de Vilma y Lisandro sale a defenderla. Ésta, al ver la actitud de éste, le dice que no debía de poner la cara por una inmoral pues está embarazada. Lisandro, se sorprende pero reacciona insinuándole que ése hijo es de él.  Más tarde, Lisandro habla con María Clara sobre su embarazo, le reafirma el amor que le tiene y le propone ayudarla dándole su apellido a su hijo. TV Azteca, 12/2-6/02:  El Norte, 12/1/02:  TV Azteca 13:00 horas, Canal 13.  Victoria vuelve a contratar a María Clara, pero ésta vez como sirvienta. El día del cumpleaños de Victoria, María Clara se encuentra con Carlos Raúl, él aprovecha para decirle que la sigue amando, María Clara lo rechaza. Bárbara se pone histérica cuando se entera que Lisandro está enamorado de María Clara y está esperando un hijo de él. Durante la fiesta, Vilma le hace una maldad a María Clara y Victoria la corre. Coralia al enterarse que Victoria trató mal a su ahijada la busca en el gimnasio y se encuentra con Erasmo, éste se entera de que Teresa murió y María Clara o Andrea puede ser su hija. Pierina se hace amiga de Braulio, ésta aprovecha la relación para chantajear a Victoria amenazándola con contarle a Braulio que ella tuvo como amante a Luciano, su esposo. María Clara perdona a Lisandro el no haberle dicho que Bárbara era su hermana; sin embargo, acepta ser la dama de compañía de su abuela Prudencia. Aunque María Clara se hace buena amiga de Prudencia, Bárbara no pierde el momento de insultarla. Carlos Raúl le pide a Bárbara el divorcio pues su matrimonio va muy mal, ella le advierte que no se lo dará y le hará pagar todos sus rechazos. Los meses pasan y a María Clara se le nota su embarazo. Carlos Raúl sospecha que ese hijo es suyo, pero Lisandro le asegura que ése bebé es de él. Mientras, Vilma y Bárbara traman que María Clara caiga por la escalera.

El Norte, 12/9/02: El Universal, 12/9/02: TV Azteca, 12/9-13/02:  María Clara tiene a su hija con ayuda de Lisandro y Prudencia se encariña rápidamente con la niña. Al ver el amor desinteresado de la abuela por con su hija, María Clara le confiesa que Carlos Raúl fue el hombre que la engaño. Ésta, la consuela diciéndole que sólo fue víctima del destino, pero que está en ella mejorar su vida y por lo que le pide, encarecidamente, que se case con Lisandro. María Clara, conmovida y a la vez agradecida con ambos, acepta su petición.  Andrea se entera de que su hermana se casará con Lisandro, por lo que le confiesa a Carlos Raúl que la hija de su hermana es de él. Éste busca desesperadamente a María Clara y le pide que lo deje reconocer a su hija y volver con ella pues todavía la ama. Ésta, enojada, lo rechaza tajantemente.  El día de la boda de Lisandro y María Clara, Bárbara le exige a su abuela que impida esa boda, Prudencia se rehúsa pues considera a su futura nieta política una buena mujer y le advierte que ella la protegerá aun cuando muera. Bárbara se enfurece y en su locura la golpea. Prudencia le da un paro cardiaco y muere, Bárbara huye de miedo sin que nadie la vea. Más tarde, María Clara encuentra a Prudencia muerta y llora desconsolada mientras Lisandro decide suspender la boda temporalmente.  Luciano busca a Victoria y reanudan su romance, ella decide enfrentarse a su hijo Braulio, quien reacciona violentamente pues considera ridículo que su madre este enamorado de un joven como Luciano.  El testamento de Doña Prudencia se lee y María Clara se convierte en la heredera de la fortuna personal de la abuela pero en el testamento hay cláusulas que debe cumplir. El Norte, 12/15/02: El Universal, 12/15/02:  Carlos Raúl le cuenta a Yesenia sus penas de amor en el piano bar donde trabaja, sorpresivamente llega Lisandro acompañado de María Clara, Carlos Raúl aprovecha para decirles que se irá a París para iniciar una carrera como pianista y piensa divorciarse de Bárbara. Por su parte, Yesenia reconoce a Lisandro como el asesino de su hermana, Silvana.  Erasmo va a la casa de María Clara para decirle que ella es su hija pero Coralia lo desmiente pues su hija es Andrea. Bárbara le propone a Inés, su sirvienta y que está embarazada, que le de a su hijo a cambio de darle medio millón de dólares. Inés acepta.  Bárbara decide dejar de atacar a María Clara para fingir ser su amiga y así poder quitarle su dinero. Andrea es atacada y le hacen una herida en la cara pero lo que no sabe ésta es que su atacante es ni mas ni menos que Elisa. Carlos Raúl se comunica desde París con Bárbara para saber como va su divorcio, ella le dice que está embarazada, Carlos Raúl no le cree y comienza un noviazgo con Yesenia. Andrea sufre una crisis al ver la cicatriz que le quedó, esto hace que le pida perdón a su hermana María Clara por lo mal que la ha tratado.  María Clara se entera de que Carlos Raúl es novio de Yesenia por lo que decide casarse lo antes posibles con Lisandro. TV Azteca, 12/23-27/02:  El Norte, 12/23/02:TV Azteca 13:00 horas, Azteca 13  María Clara y Lisandro se casan, la primera noche no la pasan juntos, situación que Bárbara comienza a sospechar de que su hermano no es el padre de la niña. Mientras, Carlos Raúl llega a Miami y Bárbara le dice que está esperando un hijo. Situación que éste decide no divorciarse de ella. Yesenia al saber que Carlos Raúl no se divorciará decide quedarse en Miami para vengarse de Lisandro, pues según ella, es el asesino de su hermana Silvana. Bárbara conoce a Yesenia, quien llena de celos le da a entender que el amor de Carlos Raúl es Venezolana. Bárbara, muy enojada, le pide que le revele el nombre de su rival, pero Yesenia se niega a decirle algo y se va. El padre Alberto le cuenta a Coralia que Mayra, una mujer que conoció a María Clara de niña, le dejó una carta donde habla de su verdadera familia por lo que queda de enviársela de Venezuela a Miami. Bárbara invita a María Clara a una exclusiva galería de Miami, pues quiere humillarla. Pero lo que no sabe, es que Victoria está enseñando a Maria Clara ha ser una mujer refinada y distinguida. Llega el día de la exposición y ésta sorprende a todos por su belleza y su comportamiento pero Carlos Raúl comete la imprudencia de besarla a la fuerza enterándose Bárbara. Ella se vuelve loca e intenta matar a María Clara pero Lisandro y Carlos Raúl lo impiden. María Clara le pide perdón a Lisandro por su comportamiento y le jura que jamás lo traicionará, además le pide que maneje su fortuna por lo que le firmará un poder notarial. Mientras, Bárbara, llena de resentimiento y odio jura destruir a María Clara volviéndola loca para después encerrarla en un manicomio.

El Norte, 12/2302:  Tv Azteca, 13:00 horas, Canal 13.  Andrea es operada de su cara y resulta ser todo un éxito pero se entera por Elisa que su padre es Erasmo. En la mansión donde vive María Clara, empiezan a pasar cosas extrañas: aparecen copas rotas y cuadros volteados, Bárbara y Vilma insinúan que alguien en la casa se está volviendo loco. Bárbara le pone al té que María Clara toma unas gotas de somnífero; inconsciente, es puesta en la silla de ruedas de Prudencia. Lisandro y Carlos Raúl al verla, piensan que María Clara se está volviendo loca. Lisandro, preocupado por la salud de María Clara, se la lleva a una playa donde pretende construír unos hoteles pero, al mismo lugar, llega Yesenia y Carlos Raúl. En la mañana siguiente, Carlos Raúl se lleva por la fuerza a María Clara a dar un paseo en lancha desatándose una tormenta. Ellos se ponen a salvo en una isla desierta. Lisandro se da cuenta de la ausencia de su esposa y de su cuñado, por lo que inicia la búsqueda con la guardia costera. Finalmente, Lisandro llega a la isla y al encontrar a Carlos Raúl al lado de su esposa, lo golpea. Sin embargo, en la pelea éste es mordido por una víbora. Mientras tanto, Bárbara abre la carta que el Padre Alberto le envío a María Clara. Al leerla, ésta descubre que la verdadera familia de su cuñada, vive en París y que su apellido es Roldán. Bárbara decide esconder la carta pero Natalia, la sirvienta, la ve.

Diario de Yucatan, 1/12/03: El Universal, 1/17/03: TV Azteca, 1/13-17/03: TV Azteca 13:00 horas, Canal 13.  María Clara logra avisarle a su madrina que Braulio la tiene secuestrada, éste se da cuenta y empieza a ponerse nervioso. Alexander, consciente de que puede ser acusado de secuestro, habla con Lisandro para decirle donde se encuentra María Clara. Carlos Raúl logra rescatar a María Clara y Victoria se interpone entre la policía y su hijo, ella sale herida. Gilberto no está muerto, logra recuperarse y le pide a Elisa que le ayude a vengarse de Vilma. Casi al borde de la muerte, Victoria le pide a María Clara que no levante cargos contra su hijo. Más tarde, Braulio y Alexander salen de la cárcel. Bárbara aprovecha y los amenaza con matarlos si dicen que ella fue la autora intelectual del secuestro. Ricardo le pide a María Clara que pose desnuda para pintarla, ella se niega rotundamente y Ricardo jura conquistarla. María Clara trata de recuperar a su hija, pero Bárbara le dice que nunca se la devolverá pues tiene la custodia legal. Carlos Raúl, al ver a María Clara angustiada, le aconseja que demuestre ante todos que no está loca y así exigir le devuelvan a su hija. Por otra parte, Bárbara planea matarla y le envía un anónimo donde le dice que Carlos Raúl se encuentra en peligro. Ésta va a dicho lugar y Vilma que está escondida, le dispara. María Clara no sufre daño alguno pero cuando comenta el incidente con Carlos Raúl, éste no le cree.

TV Azteca, 1/20-24/03:  Lisandro y María Clara firman los papeles de divorcio, ésta va a la mansión de Bárbara para recuperar a su hija, pero Vilma la golpea con un florero y la encierra en el sótano. Al llegar Carlos Raúl, se da cuenta de lo sucedido y logra sacarla de la casa.  Ricardo le propone a María Clara hacerla famosa para que tenga dinero y así, recuperar a su hija, por lo que le realiza una sesión fotográfica para publicarlas en las mejores revistas. Días después, Bárbara y Vilma se enfurecen al ver la foto de María Clara en la revista más prestigiada. Ésta va y le reclama a Ricardo, al ver que no logra conmoverlo, le coquetea proponiéndole se su amante. Inés, se entera de la propuesta.  Larry amenaza a Bárbara con desenmascararla ante todos si no paga la cantidad de un millón de dólares, a lo que ella pide de plazo un mes. Reinaldo le pide matrimonio a Melisa, para ella es el momento más feliz de su vida. Sin embargo, Alexander al enterarse de que ella fue quien le disparó, la mata.  Victoria se entera de que Lluvia es inocente y se lo dice a Reinaldo. María Clara debuta como modelo, al mismo tiempo, Lisandro le pide matrimonio a Yessenia y le promete llegar a amarla.  Teresita se enferma de neumonía, Carlos Raúl le habla al doctor y le pide a Natalia que le informe a María Clara que su hija está grave, ante esta situación ella le confiesa que Teresita es su hija. Ambos se besan. Después, María Clara se aleja y le dice que su amor no puede ser pues se comprometió con Ricardo.

El Norte, 1/26/03: TV Azteca, 1/20-24/03: TV Azteca 13:00 horas, Canal 13.  Bárbara se entrevista con Larry para pagarle el millón de pesos que le prometió, pero ella lo amenaza con una pistola. Ambos forcejean y Bárbara logra pegarle en la cabeza a Larry y cae inconsciente. Ella, creyendo que está muerto, le pide ayuda a Vilma para enterrarlo, pero al regresar al lugar de los hechos ya no lo encuentran. Tiempo después, Bárbara recibe una amenaza de Larry donde le advierte que pagará muy caro el intento de asesinato. Braulio le pide perdón a Maria Clara por todo lo que le hizo, la joven lo perdona inundando de alegría a Victoria. Carlos Raúl se entera de que su esposa utilizó a Braulio para hacerle daño a María Clara por lo que decide abandonarla, no sin antes devolverle todo el dinero que le ha dado, y así irse a vivir con su hijo a un modesto departamento. Reinaldo va a la cárcel a pedirle perdón a Lluvia pero ella lo trata indiferente y le dice que se va a casar con Luciano. Inés le confiesa a María Clara que Ricardo es amante de Bárbara por lo que ésta decide romper su compromiso. Lisandro se entera y vuelve a pedirle matrimonio, María Clara acepta y promete entregársele en cuerpo y alma.

El Universal, 2/2/03: TV Azteca, 1/20-24/03: Bárbara aunque se debate entre la vida y la muerte, niega saber del paradero de Teresita. Así, pasan 6 años sin saber nada de la niña convirtiendo la vida de María Clara en un calvario. Mientras, Carlos Raúl vive sólo y visita constantemente a su hijo Marianito en casa de Bárbara. Por otra parte, Teresita sufre de los constantes maltratos de Isolda.  Un día Octavia, amiga de Teresita, le aconseja que huya , la niña se escapa pero un taxi, en donde va María Clara, casi la atropella. Ésta se baja del auto para atender a la niña pero ella se va corriendo. Después de 6 años sin verse, Carlos Raúl y María Clara, se vuelven a encontrar, los dos se dan cuenta que se siguen amando.  Teresita se encuentra con Carlos Raúl, éste cree que es una niña perdida y decide cuidarla por una noche para después llevarla a la policía. Bárbara llega de improviso y la conoce, momento después Larry se comunica con ésta y le dice que la niña escapó, Bárbara intuye que la niña que está con Carlos Raúl es Teresita.  Inés trata de raptar a Marianito pero Lisandro y María Clara llegan en ese momento, la joven confiesa que el niño es de ella y no de Carlos Raúl ni de Bárbara pues esta última, le pagó a Larry un millón de dólares para comprar al bebé. Lisandro le explica a Carlos Raúl que la verdadera madre de Marianito es Inés. El Universal, 2/9/03: TV Azteca, 2/10-14/03:  María Clara conoce a Danielita (Teresita). La niña se encariña tanto que le pide que sea su mamá. Erika la escucha y cuando está a solas con la niña la amenaza con separarla de Carlos Raúl sino dice que es a ella a quien quiere como su mamá.  Por su parte Bárbara está convencida que Carlos Raúl no regresará a su lado y le pide a su abogado que levante una denuncia contra Carlos Raúl por secuestrar a una niña, la policía lo detiene.  Larry llega a casa de Carlos Raúl para llevarse a Danielita, María Clara se da cuenta y los sigue. Éste se esconde en un edificio, allí amenaza con lanzar al vacío a la niña si la policía se acerca. Bárbara acude a la cárcel y le propone a Carlos Raúl pagar la fianza a cambio de que regrese a su lado. Larry, en su desesperación, decide cambiar de rehén, Danielita por María Clara, cuando éste está a punto de revelarle toda la verdad a ella, la policía le dispara. María Clara está a punto de caer del edificio pero Ricardo la salva.  Bárbara, al saber que Larry está herido va a buscarlo para eliminarlo pues no le conviene que confiese que ella secuestro a Teresita. Por otra parte, ésta habla con Isolda para que en su declaración no la mencione comprometiéndose en sacarla de la cárcel. Braulio y Vilma se enteran que Larry murió por lo que empiezan a sospechar de Bárbara.  Lisandro paga la fianza de Carlos Raúl. Bárbara hace un último intento para que éste regrese a su lado pero él la rechaza de nuevo. Natalia encuentra en el jardín un cofre que contiene una carta que seis años atrás el padre Alberto le escribió a María Clara pero Bárbara la escondió. El Norte, 2/16/03: TV Azteca, 2/17-21/03:  TV Azteca 13:30 horas, Canal 13.  Yesenia se entera que María Clara es su hermana por lo que decide dejar Miami para que Lisandro sea feliz al lado de ella. Bárbara visita a Isolda y le promete sacarla de la prisión a cambio de su silencio, pero Braulio también busca a la mujer en la cárcel y le advierte no confiar en Bárbara, pues ella asesinó a Larry. Carlos Raúl le dice a Marianito que su verdadera madre es Inés; el niño se niega a aceptarla por lo que éste decide llevárselo a su departamento por un tiempo. Finalmente, Danielita convence al niño para que acepte a su madre. Maria Clara se encariña con Danielita, ésta le cuenta que Érika la ha amenazado. María Clara la busca y le reclama a la mujer para que deje en paz a la niña. Carlos Raúl se entera de lo que ha hecho Érika y termina con ella. Como venganza, Érika se hace amiga de Bárbara para perjudicar a Carlos Raúl, por lo que deciden ir con el juez para que le quiten a Danielita. Maria Clara trata de impedir que el juez se lleve a Danielita pero todo es inútil, la niña es separada de Carlos Raúl hasta que se conozca su verdadero origen. Ricardo se entera de lo que Érika y Bárbara hicieron y éste corre a su prima de la casa. Érika, al encontrarse desamparada, acude con su esposo Ramiro, éste la acepta con la condición de pedir perdón a todas las personas que perjudicó. Danielita le confiesa al juez haberse escapado del lugar donde vivía pues Isolda la maltrataba. El juez le informa a Carlos Raúl y María Clara que la niña vivirá en su casa hasta que aparezcan sus padres biológicos y de no ser así, ellos podrán adoptarla.

El Norte, 2/23/03: TV Azteca, 2/24-28/03:  TV Azteca 13:30 horas, Canal 13. Finalmente Isolda le confiesa a Braulio que Bárbara mando secuestrar a Teresita y esa niña fue la que crío con el nombre de Danielita. Braulio va a casa de Bárbara para decirle que la denunciará por secuestro de menores, Bárbara lo golpea y sale corriendo pero en su huida es atropellada por su hermano Lisandro. En el hospital, Bárbara empieza a tener ratos de locura y lucidez. Carlos Raúl la visita, ella al verlo le dice que todo lo malo que hizo fue por amor y como no tiene ganas de seguir luchando por algo que nunca tendrá le dará el divorcio. Por otra parte, Braulio le dice a Lisandro que Bárbara fue la que pagó para que secuestrarán a la hija de María Clara, además de que Teresita y Danielita son la misma persona. Éste también intenta decirle la verdad a Carlos Raúl, pero éste sale aturdido por el estado en que se encuentra Bárbara. Carlos Raúl le pide a María Clara que se casen pues Bárbara le dará el divorcio, pero ella le dice que no pues ya le dio su palabra de matrimonio a Lisandro. En su locura, Bárbara empieza a decir que ella es María Clara. Poco tiempo después, ésta se escapa del hospital para pedirle ayuda a su prima Vilma y le aconseja que mate a María Clara y así todos sus problemas terminarán. Lisandro va al taller donde trabaja Carlos Raúl y le dice que Teresita y Danielita son la misma persona, inmediatamente Carlos Raúl va con el juez y le dice que él es el verdadero padre de la niña pero el juez le dice que debe comprobarlo primero. Danielita se pega en la cabeza cuando juega y va a dar al hospital. María Clara la cuida. Por otro lado, el juez le da la custodia de la niña a Carlos Raúl. Él, feliz, se presenta con María Clara para decirle que ella es la verdadera madre de Danielita.

El Norte, 3/2/03:  TV Azteca, 3/3-7/03:  TV Azteca 13:30 horas, Canal 13.  Danielita se alegra al saber que María Clara y Carlos Raúl son sus verdaderos padres, pero la felicidad de la pareja se empaña cuando se enteran que Bárbara escapó del hospital y por la promesa que María Clara le hizo Lisandro. El día de la boda de María Clara y Lisandro, Bárbara llega y amenaza con una pistola a la novia, Lisandro la protege y Braulio aprovecha para desarmar a la mujer, pero logra huir. Vilma al saber que Bárbara no pudo asesinar a María Clara, la abandona en medio de la carretera, Braulio la encuentra muy mal pues Bárbara pretende ser María Clara. Mientras que en la iglesia, Lisandro pide que continúe la ceremonia, Carlos Raúl llega intempestivamente y se lleva a la novia en caballo. En una playa solitaria, Carlos Raúl le jura a María Clara amor eterno, ella le dice que siempre se han amado y se besan. Braulio lleva a Bárbara a la mansión de los Serrano Sulvaran, Lisandro al verla tan mal decide internarla en un manicomio. María Clara y Carlos Raúl se enteran que Lisandro planea irse de Miami, ellos se disculpan con él. Lisandro les desea toda la felicidad del mundo y se va, pero a María Clara se le ocurre un plan para que Yesenia y Lisandro puedan ser felices. Carlos Raúl va a visitar a Bárbara, ésta lo reconoce y se alegra al verlo pero insiste en llamarse María Clara, Carlos Raúl llora por el estado en que se encuentra y sólo le dice que la perdona y se va. María Clara prepara el bautizo de su hija Teresita mientras que esperan el fallo del divorcio y así por fin casarse con Carlos Raúl.
