Primer capitulo: Juan Carlos can't go to Marcella's wedding because of padre Federico's campomento. La esposa de Rodrigo tiene fuertes mal de cabeja. Ana asks Clara to care for Rodrigo and Luciana. Marcella has just graduated and is waiting for her fiancée. La avión con su novio crashes; no hay sobrevivientes. Ana se muere. Marcella and Rodrigo, both crying, bump into each other in the hospital corridor. Five years pass. Renato and Astrid are still trying to get Rodrigo to marry her. Marcella teaches & has a private practice.
Ana es llevada al hospital debido a una grave enfermedad que le aqueja. Rodrigo , su esposo corre a verla en sus últimos momentos. Marcela no puede esperar a que llegue Alejandro de Coahuila. Luciana es una niña como todas, simpática, juguetona e inteligente. El padre Federico se enfrenta a serios problemas económicos para sacar adelante su campamento. Astrid le dice a Rodrigo que lo ama, al igual que a su hija, por lo que no debe temer nada. Juan Carlos le confiesa al padre Federico que el amor de su vida siempre ha sido Marcela. Daniel estudia para sacerdote; sin embargo, ama secretamente a Luisa Fernanda , lo que le causa conflictos existenciales. Ella, por su parte, tiene un duro altercado con su actual novio, Germán , quien la lleva a su departamento y la obliga a beber más de la cuenta, but she "escapes". Luciana and ? meet a kindly old man, Eliseo in the park. He takes them for some ice cream, but first scares them so they will never pick up a stranger again.

Luisa Fernanda pide a Daniel que la acompañe a una reunión con sus amigos. Clara se asombra porque don Eliseo ve a Luciana. Daniel le confiesa a Enrique que está enamorado de Luisa Fernanda, el asunto es incómodo porque él estudia para sacerdote y le causa conflictos internos. Mercedes pide a Federico que la ayude a seguir el buen camino a Marco. Luciana cuenta a Lupita que escuchó Astrid decir que cuando sea su madrastra la mandará a un internado. Juan Carlos cuenta al padre Federico que ya está saliendo con Marcela. Clara has an accident and, feering for her life, Juan Carlos convinces Rodrigo to have Luciana see a psychologist and recommends Marcella. Marcella's sessions with her go well and she and Rodrigo have a couple of dinners together. Clara is left paralyzed and brought home. At first she refuses treatment, but Eliseo finally convinces her that she must undergo treatment...and she learns that she will be able to walk again.
Miguel convence a Lorena de que no deben divorciarse y para evitar los celos de su esposa despide a su guapa secretaria. El padre Federico le regala unos suéteres a los niños del campamento. Clara se pone muy nerviosa en su primer día de terapia. Marcela y Rodrigo han roto el hielo y ya se hablan de tú; sin embargo, ella le aclara que tiene novio, a lo que le reacciona sorprendido. Luciana agradece a Dios en la iglesia que le haya cumplido un pequeño favor. Astrid está feliz porque Rodrigo no la corrió de su trabajo; sin embargo, él ya se ha dado cuenta de la clase de persona que es la tal Astrid. Daniel promete a Luisa Fernanda. Luciana quiere que su papá se case pero no con Astrid. Alguien robó el dinero del campamento, cuando el padre Federico se da cuenta pone el grito en el cielo. Melodia makes him believe that the boys Andrés and Marcos stole the money.
El padre searches Melodia's room and finds lots of new clothes and begins to suspect that she and José Ramón stole the money, not Andrés and Marcos. He fires José Ramón. Luisa Fernanda and Germán are back together. She is very happy but he is seeing another woman. Rodrigo breaks up with Astrid and she swears vengeance. Daniel is hospitalized with appendicitis and Luisa Fernanda cares for him. Daniel hits Germán but doesn't tell Luisa Fernanda why. Clara learns she will be able to walk again if she works hard.

Miguel se enoja con Paulina pero finalmente acepta llevar a su mamá con ellos. Marcela les cuenta a Rodrigo y a Juan Carlos lo que pasó en su consultorio. Posteriormente ella se entera que ha sido despedida por el director de la Facultad. Luisa Fernanda busca a Germán pero se da cuenta que está con Ivonne. Luciana ya no cuenta con la amistad de Lupita porque está no la quiere por ser pobre. Ahora que Marcela no tiene trabajo en la Universidad ha decidido ayudar al padre Federico. El padre por su parte esta feliz y le cuenta a Thomas que el dueño del terreno donde será el campamento murió y se los heredó. Armando le dice a Victoria que se va a Hoollywod ha realizar una película. Renato se entera que Rodrigo visitó a Marcela y decide que Astrid utilice nuevas tácticas para no perderlo. Renato makes Magda believe that he loves her.
Marcella breaks up with Juan Carlos. Eliseo asks Clara to marry him. She refuses and he stops coming by. Rodrigo and Luciana convince her to change her mind.
Astrid le dice a Magda que posee la carta que le escribió a Renato y que hará lo que ella le diga o la hundirá. Clara dice a Rodrigo que se casará con Eliseo en cuanto pueda caminar. Enrique y Daniel aceptan ayudar al padre Federico en su campamento. Clara y Eliseo deciden adelantar su boda para que Luciana asista al campamento. Luisa Fernanda asegura a Marcela que no se enamoraría de Daniel pues estudia para sacerdote. El padre Federico aclara al abuelo de Pablito que éste no quiere ir al campamento pues sabe que puede morir en cualquier momento.

7/99. Rodrigo and Astrid trump up something against Marcela and get her fired, then get the police after her. Luisa Fernanda finds her fianceé with his other girlfriend, in his apartment, and breaks up with him. Rodrigo and Marcela become engaged. Clara and Eliseo set a wedding date, although she still can't walk perfectly. Vicky becomes friends with Luciano. 7/23 - Miguel and his wife decide to divorce. Rodrigo kills Augustín . Melodia steals the money for the newspaper ad and gives it to José Ramón. He fakes a receipt for el padre who wonders why the ad didn't appear in the paper. The police question Rodrigo about Augustín's death. Astrid gets photos of LF kissing Juan Carlos (a "saludo" after lunch) and sends the pictures to Rodrigo. He confronts Marcela who is furious at being spied upon. They break up.
8/2-6/99: German tricks Luisa Fernanda into seeing him again and asks for a second chance which she sort of gives him. Daniel realizes he is in love with her. Eliseo and Clara marry. She is sad to being leaving her home. We finally learn the secret, that Rodrigo is not Luciano's father. Her real father is Luis; her mother was pregnant when she married Rodrigo and Rodrigo knew. Luis is a bad character who, on discovering the picture of Luciano in a paper with her father and remembering the letter her mother wrote him is determined to use the information to get money. School gets out and summer camp begins. Marcella is the psychologist because the doctor they had expected got a grant to study abroad. Andrés runs away to the camp and padre Federico finally agrees to let him stay with the permission of just his mother. Rodrigo meets Vicky's mother and they are attracted to each other.

El Universal-Mexico summaries starting 6/28/98: Una de las gemelas hace trampa en el concurso que organizan las niñas en el campamento, por lo que Luciana y Vicky planean una cruel venganza. Astrid llega al campamento para impedir que Rodrigo intente algo con Marcela nuevamente. El abuelo de Pablito se muere, pero aparece ante de Pablito como un angel. Pablito recibe un regalo de su abuelo. El padre Federico castiga a los niños que se solidarizan con Marco. Marco runs away and falls out of a tree. Eliseo has a heart attack. Rodrigo misses his appointment with Luis because of Eliseo and Luis goes crazy...even though Rodrio has no way to get in touch with him. The family, menos un hijo, of the man who gave the land for the campomento to the padre in his will plans to contest the will; they want to sell the land to a developer.
8/23-27/99. Marcela tiene una serie de revelaciones de lo que ha sido su vida y sobre el conflicto emocional en el que se encuentra. Astrid hace ver a Rodrigo que sus ausencias al trabajo hacen peligrar su candidatura. El padre Federico reúne a sus auxiliares y les comunica que como los terrenos ya son suyos esa será la última
temporada del campamento. Lupita sale muy alegre a recibir a Luciana, quien llega con Rodrigo. Este lleva serenata a Marcela y le dice todo lo que descubrió con Astrid y Ramiro.

8/31-9/3. Rodrigo and Victoria meet several times, but it is friendship, not love. Vicky asks Armando what he feels toward her daughter and breaks up with him because she realizes that he would not be a good father for his daughter and that is the most important thing. Rodrigo doesn't want to believe that Luis is alive, because that would mean that his wife lied to him, but he is forced to recognize the truth. He meets with Luis once, is unable to make the second meeting. Luis goes to the camp and tells Luciano he is her father but she doesn't believe him. He goes back to the city; he is also starting to have major headaches. Rodolfo, acting on his own, plans to buy the land on which the camp is run...but for himself, to sell to developers, not for Rodrigo. Yolanda has told Luisa Fernanda that she loves Daniel. Later, she hears Daniel telling Enrique that he loves both God and Luisa Fernanda and doesn't know which to choose. Yolanda, realizing she can't have him, works on him to choose God. Luisa Fernanda admits to Marcella that she loves Daniel but doesn't want to take him from his goal. Lorena and Miguel reconcile but then she visits him at his apartment and sees him embracing his lover; she doesn't realize that he has been saying goodbye and runs away. When he comes to visit her, she tells him she wants a divorce immediately, without explaining why. At the camp, more tricks are played. The children stand up for Andrés, who confesses to one prank, and the padre is proud of their defense of him...although he punishes them all. Emilio declares his love to Mercedes. Astrid is angry with Renato but I'm not sure why. Diego declares himself to Mercedes but she rejects him. Yolando praises Daniel for his vocation. Daniel tells padre Federico he wants to enter the seminario right away. Rodrigo finally tells Marcella about Luis; outside, Luciano overhears and runs away. She falls and is found by a poor man and his wife. In the hospital, Luis tells his mother to call Rodrigo to settle the Luciano matter. Some boys try to find Luciano; Marcos falls from a cliff and is save by Diego.
9/13-19/99: Astrid tells Marcella that she and Rodrigo are living together, that she is pregnant (although she has not yet told him) and asks her to keep the secret. Luciano continues, still semi-conscious, in the house of the couple that found her. Astrid visits Marcella and tells her she and Rodrigo are living together and that he doesn't know it yet, but she is pregnant. Lorena signs the divorce papers and tells padre Federico that she can't trust Miguel not to cheat on her again. Padre Federico tells her that the real pardon involves forgetting as well as forgiving. Marcella tells Luisa Fernanda that Astrid is pregnant. Diego tells padre Federico that he must leave the campomento right away. Mercedes asks her brother how he would feel if she lived a man of a different class. He says of course not. She tells him it is Diego. Rodrigo meets Luis at the hospital cafeteria. Luis insists that he did not take Luciana and wants the money only to leave them alone. He is obviously ill but Rodrigo doesn't see it and doesn't believe him. Eliseo, however, has followed Rodrigo and investigates. He tells Rodrigo what he learned: that Luis has been in the hospital since before Luciana disappeared and that he has a brain tumor. Mercedes confesses to Diego that she loves him, too. El padre Federico is happy when he hears the news. Renato buys the land. Rodolfo pays for Luis's surgery. Luciana returns home. Rodrigo discovers that one business account is completely empty and that the withdrawal as authorized by Renato. Luciana tells Rodrigo what she overheard. Yolanda finds Luisa Fernanda and Daniel sharing their first kiss on her hearing that Luciana is safe. Daniel is embarrassed and promises it will never happen again. Renato manages to deflect Rodrigo's questions about the money. Luciana tells her father why she ran away, but just then he is called to the hospital: Luis has died in surgery but beforehand left a note for Luciana telling her that he had lied. Rodrigo gives her the note and tells her they were both deceived. She tells him she wants him to marry Marcella and he decides to go to the campomento. There, Marcella is very cool toward him and doesn't let him speak. Victoria, who had thought her filming complete, refuses to work on Saturday when she is to visit her daughter and Armando, finally, decides to go with her. José Ramón tells Melodia she is becoming bland. Celia and Andrés tell her husband/his father that they won't follow him to the place where he has been offered work.
Astrid presiona a Rodrigo para que deje todo y se dedique a ganar el puesto en la cámara de la construcción, él está cansado de su hostigamiento. El padre de Federico les informa que les van a quitar los terrenos y será la última vez que se efectúe el campamento. Marcela gritarle a Rodrigo que lo ama, pero se contiene al recordar que Astrid dijo que era su amante. Luciana les da un gran susto a todos en el
campamento cuando casi es devorada por un oso. Rodrigo calls a press conference to announce his withdrawal from the race. Astrid, but not Renato, is upset.
Padre Federico expels the twins from the camp for their last trick: tying Luciana to a tree. Their father tries to buy him off, but can't. Marcela le dice a Luciana que está comprometida con Juan Carlos. A solas ella le confiesa que todavía lo ama, pero que por el hijo que espera Astrid no lo puede aceptar. Juan Carlos asks her to marry him, that love eventually dies in all marriages but they have everything else. She agrees. Renato gets Magda to agree to switch the folders, he thinks. But she sets him up with Rodrigo. When caught, he holds a sharp letter opener against Magda's throat and admits to Rodrigo how much he has always hated him, how he and Astrid were interested solely in his money. Rodrigo disarms him, the police arrive. In jail, he confesses to everything, including the murder of the lawyer. Padre Federico visits Bruno and tells him he needs help to change; Bruno says he has tried but can't. Rodrigo tells padre Federico about Renato's betrayal, but that he bought the campomento's land with company funds so the land will be his as long as they both live. In jail, padre Federico visits Renato and tells him that he needs perdón, his own and God's. El padre Federico le dice a Juan Carlos que si se casa sin amar a Marcela fracasará su matrimonio. Rodrigo le entrega las escrituras del terreno al padre Federico haciéndolo feliz. Luciana le dice a Lupita que vivirá en su casa mientras regresan sus padres de España. Victoria y Armando anuncian su enlace matrimonial.
Rodrigo sospecha que Astrid lo engaña respecto a varios asuntos y está dispuesta a evidenciarlo. Posteriormente descubre que Renato , a quien creía su amigo, lo ha defraudado con los terrenos del campamento y se apresta a recuperarlos. El padre Federico se entera que Rodrigo es ahora el dueño del terreno y abriga la esperanza de seguir con su campamento. Marcela pierde la esperanza de recuperar el amor de Rodrigo sin saber qué es lo que éste piensa.
9/20/99. Padre Federico confronts Lorena and Miguel and she finally learns that the embrace she saw was that of Miguel saying goodbye to his lover. The the padre talks to Daniel and explains that the love of a man for a woman is as sacred as that of a man for God and that one does not prevent the other. Daniel seeks Luisa Fernanda. Later the two confront Yolanda: they have found her out and she can do nothing to impede their happiness. José Ramón finally steals money and shows it to Melodia. She tells him to give it back, that she has changed and never wants to see him again. He can't believe it. Padre Federico enters and throws him out, but he doesn't fire Melodia. He tells her he overheard the conversation and knows she has changed.
9/23/99. Astrid tells Rodrigo she loves him. He tells her that he loves Marcella and doesn't want to see her again. Juan Carlos tells Tomás about his engagement to Marcella. Rodrigo serenades Marcella, but Juan Carlos arrives and tells him that they are engaged. Marcella refuses to break the engagement. Astrid goes crazy (smeared lipstick, etc.). Rodrigo goes to see Astrid again to tell her how much he le desprecia. The children find the tesoros of Tomás and ask him about them: pictures and other small things. He explains that they are his memories, the most valuable things a person can have. Beni, one of the boys, recognizes the photo of his grandmother when she was young - Tomás's one and only love, a secret love that she never knew about.
9/24/99. FINAL. The campomento is at an end. Melodia returns a watch to padre Federico. Victoria and Armando tell Vicky they are going to be married and she will come before her career. Miguel and Lorena tell their daughter that they have reconciled and the three will be together forever. Lupita and her husband arrive: the inheritance has been settled and, what is more, she is pregnant again. Her daughter will have a brother/sister. David and his mother visit Andrés; they tell him that Bruno, who arrives a bit later, has gone into therapy and that they will not be moving. Diego and Marcella say goodbye to Tomás and tell him he will always have a home with them. Diego tells Tomás that his love is there, but Tomás decides not to see her: he will keep her memory as it has always been. Juan Carlos sees Marcella saying goodbye to Luciano, later sees her with Rodrigo. Marcella and Juan Carlos talk, but we hear only a part of the conversation. Rodrigo and Marcella talk, but we hear nothing. Rodrigo makes a mysterious phone call to his mother. Before terminating the campomento, padre Federico recounts the miracle of the camp, how people have changed, and offers a special thanks to Melodia who started out hating children. She embraces several of them. Padre Federico visits Renato in jail; Renato tells him that he understands now, that he will seek perdón. He appears truly repentant. A crazy Astrid hears a knock at the door; it is the police. They are there to arrest her for her part in the crimes against Marcella. We see Marcella on a beach in a wedding gown and, finally, Rodrigo. They are married by Padre Federico, surrounded by Rodrigo's mother and Eliseo, the housekeeper and Luciano. FIN.
