Intro from Periodico Público: A partir de
esta noche, cuatro hombres vivirán por Elena, en un nuevo melodrama del
realizador de Marisol y El alma no tiene color, y de la escritora de María
Isabel y Te sigo amando. Vivo por
Elena, refrito de Señorita Elena, original de Delia Fiallo, es la producción
que hoy estrena Televisa con Victoria Ruffo y el argentino Saúl Lizaso como
pareja protagónica. Los villanos de la
historia serán interpretados por Sebastián Ligarde y Ana Patricia Rojo, y en
esta novela tendrá una oportunidad estelar el niño Imanol, hijo del actor
Manuel Landeta. Victoria, Lizaso y el
productor Juan Osorio, tratarán de reencontrarse con el éxito en sus carreras,
luego de que en sus anteriores telenovelas la suerte pareció abandonarlos. Ruffo ha mencionado que esta telenovela la
mostrará menos sufrida que en Simplemente María o Pobre niña rica. Entre el elenco también se encuentran la
joven cantante Anahí, Cecilia Gabriela, Patricia Álvarez, Sergio Catalán, Pablo
Montero, Julieta Bracho, Alejandra Procuna, Maty Huitrón (quien aparecía en
Desencuentro, antecesora de esta telenovela) y Arturo Peniche en una actuación
especial que marcará su regreso a Televisa, luego de que fue despedido por su
indisciplina. Los toques de comedia que
tendrá la historia serán puestos por los actores cómicos Sergio Corona, Carlos
Espejel y Leonorilda Ochoa. Victoria
Ruffo interpreta a Elena Carvajal, quien vive en una humilde vecindad con sus
dos hermanas. Al lograr graduarse como psicóloga, encuentra trabajo como
profesora particular de Juanito, un niño malcriado a consecuencia de los
problemas entre sus padres: un recto juez y una ambiciosa y sensual joven. Elena se gana el cariño del pequeño, también
el de su padre y hasta el de su mujeriego tío, pero tendrá que enfrentarse al
odio de la madre. La trama, dirigida
por Sergio Jiménez, consta de 160 capítulos, y se graba en el Distrito Federal,
Puerto Vallarta y Acapulco. Para su etapa final tienen pensado ponerse a la
moda y grabar a bordo de un crucero.
Primero capitulo from Periódico Público: Tres
pares de cuernos sobresalieron anoche en el estreno de Vivo por Elena. Ana
Patricia Rojo engaña a Saúl Lizaso, Sebastián Ligarde a Victoria Ruffo y Pablo
Montero a Patricia Álvarez. Momentos
antes de que diera inicio esta nueva historia, Televisa, por primera vez, dio
la bienvenida a los espectadores, al estilo del agradecimiento que recién
instituyó para sus seguidores cuando finaliza alguna de sus producciones. La primera escena de la entrada correspondió
a una imagen de Andrea Bocelli al piano, el exitoso tenor italiano que
interpreta junto a Martha Sánchez el tema de la telenovela, "Vivo por
ella" y que como una de las cartas fuertes de esta producción, se escucha
también en las cortinillas a comerciales y como fondo en algunas escenas. Saúl Lizaso apareció como Juan Alberto
Montiel, un adinerado juez, consagrado a su trabajo y casado con una mujer
mucho más joven que él: la frívola Silvia Fonseca, interpretada por Ana
Patricia Rojo. Las escenas de mayor
intensidad del primer capítulo corrieron a cargo de estos personajes. En una
fiesta, Lizaso sorprende a su mujer besándose con su amante (Arturo Peniche),
por lo que no se toca el corazón para correrla de su casa y gritarle que no
volverá a ver a su hijo. Hacia el final
del episodio, Rojo se arrodilló ante su esposo para implorarle que perdone la
que aparenta ser sólo una aventura más.
Por su parte, la protagonista, Elena Carvajal (Vicoria Ruffo), está
apunto de recibirse de psicóloga, gracias a los sacrificios de su hermana mayor
(Cecilia Gabriela, quien aparece con crédito estelar). La ex esposa de Eugenio Derbez, sin hacer
caso a las críticas por no modificar desde hace años su imagen personal, vuelve
a interpretar a una jovencita humilde e ingenua. Elena se deja embaucar por su novio, el cínico personaje
mujeriego de Sebastián Ligarde, quien con engaños la llevó a su departamento de
soltero, y ya ahí, la droga con una bebida que adulteró, en la que fue la
última escena de ayer. La tercera
infidelidad se da entre los personajes de Lumara (Patricia Álvarez) y Luis
Pablo (Pablo Montero), quien pretende a Elena y apareció con traje de charro y
acompañado del mariachi Gama 1000, ya que en la vida real es un nuevo valor
norteño de la música mexicana, de lo que seguramente seguirán sacando partido
los realizadores de la telenovela. En
breves apariciones se vio a Carlos Espejel y a Anahí como novios, así como a
Kristof, uno de los chismosos de La botana, y al comediante Sergio Corona,
quien al animarse a cantar con el mariachi, terminó perdiendo su peluquín.
Televisa 4/12/98. Ernesto is shocked by Elena's reaction to
waking up in his bed! She rejects him but doesn't tell her sister what
happened. Lumara warns her off Luis Pablo. Silvia and Juan Alberto divorce; she
goes to New York. Elena graduates and gets a job as the tutor for Juan
Alberto's son, after some problems. Juan Alberto es un juez muy exitoso que
tiene todo en la vida, excepto el amor de Elena, con quien tiene constantes
altercados. Ella le dice que Rebeca, la madre de éste, la ha contratado para
trabajar en la casa, él se enfurece por la acción de su madre, quien no lo
consultó antes de actuar. Juanito le enseña a Elena la casa. Lumara se entera
de la muerte de la madre de Luis Pablo y pide a Aurora que le lea las cartas. Simona
dice a Rebeca que tal vez Elena sea una ratera. Juan Alberto cuenta a Angeles
que no desea que Ernesto se le acerque a Elena. Oscar no quiere aceptar la
bicicleta que le mandó el Güero porque no desea comprometerse, él se la regala
por amistad.
Televisa 4/20/98 - His mother and Simona take an instant
dislike to her but she wins over Juanito and, eventually, Juan Alberto. Elena corre al negro de la mansión, el se enfurece y promete venganza. Simona
le advierte a ella que pronto regresará Silvia quien es la verdadera dueña de
la casa. Paco jura que Chelo será suya por las buenas o por las malas. Juan
Alberto se estremece cuando su hijo el pide que se case con Elena. Simona le
dice al juez que Angel se llevó a Elena a pasear. Adriana hace un sacrifico y
le da sus ahorros a Ernesto para que pague sus deudas de juego. Juan Alberto le
dice a Elena que Silvia jamás regresará a esa casa, posteriormente el destino
los une en una situación comprometedora que emociona a ambos, pero cuando van a
besarse, aparece Juanito , inoportuno. Ernesto no aprende la lección y le pide
más dinero a Adriana. Don Gustavo le dice que no se lo dé; sin embargo, ella le
entrega sus joyas. Juan Alberto dice a los cuatro vientos que Elena le ha
contagiado su dulzura y candor, por lo que el importa poco cuando Simona lo ve
por al ventana alejarse con Elena.
Ernesto
returns from abroad and begins an affair with Adriana. He manages not to run
into Elena. Luis Pablo and Don Fermin discover that Chelo works in a cabaret
and not as a nurse but keep her secret. Francisco, a powerful patron, pursues
Chelo and eventually has his men assault her. Then Elena discovers the truth.
The scandal is publicized and she fears that Juan Alberto will discover. When
Adriana can't get money for Ernesto, he throws her out; she is killed crossing
the street. Juan Alberto and Elena have fallen in love. Juanito tells Elena
that his father is going to ask her to marry him. But when she tells him
that Chelo is his sister, he kicks her out, convinced that both are bad women.
Televisa, 5/3/98. Juan Alberto no escucha razones y le dice a
Elena que no quiere saber nada de ella. Elena renuncia y se va indignada. Gustavo
no quiere que Jimena vuelva a ver a Ernesto pues afirma que es un vividor. Chelo
le cuenta a su hermana lo sucedido. Juanito le dice a su papá que lo odia por
haber corrido a Elena. El negro aprovecha que Elena renunció para seguirla y
trazar un macabro plan. Simona echa a la calle al perro del niño, éste es
atropellado al salir a buscarlo. Jimena le advierte a su padre que si Ernesto
se lo pide se casará con él. En el hospital, Juan Alberto es informado que el
niño no volverá a caminar.
Then Juanito has an accident, is
hospitalized and asks for Elena. She comes and reconciles with Juan Alberto.
She is determined to stay by Juanito who is now paralyzed. Ernesto finally
discovers that the woman in Juan Alberto's life and home is Elena and is
determined to make her his again.
Juan
Alberto and Elena become novios but she lacks the courage to tell him about her
experience with Ernesto. Silvia returns and joins forces with Ernesto who tells
her that he and Elena were lovers. She tells Rebeca.
Televisa, 5/11/98. Ernesto le comenta a Lalo que Elena es
con quien tuvo un romance, y que volverá a ser suya cueste lo que cueste. Luis
Pablo le comenta a Fermín que mientras sale su disco, seguirá cantando con el
mariachi. Adolfo cuenta a Juan Alberto que visitó a Chelo y que ésta le gusta
mucho. Simona comenta a Ernesto que por la culpa de Elena la despidieron, éste
le replica que Elena tampoco durará mucho en la casa. Rebeca le dice a Ernesto
que le gustaría deshacerse de Elena antes de casarse con Juan Alberto. El Negro
pone de acuerdo al Sapo y al Pecas para darle un sustito a la ingrata de Elena.

Ël Universal, 6/28/98. Gardenia confiesa a Fermín que tuvo una hija,
pero que la regaló. Elena trabaja como ayudante del doctor en la cárcel. Silvia
confiesa a Juan Alberto que el doctor de la prisión pretende a Elena. Juan
Alberto ya sabe que Ernesto drogó a Elena para abusar de ella, pero Rebeca no
le cree. Juan Alberto confiesa que sigue amando a Elena, por lo que no podrá
ser su abogado acusador. Gardenia es herida de muerte por una reclusa.
Ël Universal, 7/5/98. Juan Alberto se avergüenza por el concepto en que
lo tiene la directora del reclusorio , por el caso que se le lleva a Elena. Fermín
contrató a un detective privado para que encuentre a su hija extraviada. Silvia
y Rebeca se enfrentan verbalmente a pesar de que Simona lo trata de impedir. Silvia
trata de que Adolfo se largue de la casa de Juan Alberto, sin imaginar que
reacción tendrá. Juan Alberto sufre al pensar que Elena pudiera llegar a dejar
de amarlo. Fermín discovers that Ely is his daughter and that her
mother Gardenia is in jail. Ely has trouble accepting the truth at first but
finally calls him “padre”. Luis Pablo asks her to marry him and she accepts.
Ël Universal, 7/12/98. Elena llora por las humillaciones de Juan Alberto. Hugo le dice
que no debe sufrir por él. Silvia está feliz porque Juan Alberto desprecia a
Elena nuevamente. Días más tarde Elena es liberada for Christmas, in spite
of Juan Alberto’s objections. Juanito pide de regalo de Navidad una buena
cantidad de dinero. Juan Alberto se consume de celos al pensar que Elena ahora
que esta libre se casará con Hugo. Más adelante no resiste y va a la casa de
Elena, ahí la ve mostrar su cariño a Hugo. Rebecca feels more and
more guilty about disobeying Ernesto’s final request and lying about Elena.
Sylvia and Simona work to keep her drugged and/or away from Juan Alberto. He,
meanwhile, is convinced that Elena has obtained excessive privileges because
she is Hugo’s lover. He arranges to have Hugo transferred away from the prison.
Elena, hearing that the prison matron may get in trouble for giving her leave,
returns to the prison but Sylvia convinces Juan Alberto that it is because she
can’t stay away from Hugo (he never seems to question how she knows so much
about what is going on in the prison).

7/19/98. Juan Alberto descubre la carta que le
envía Elena a Juanito y se encela. Adolfo le dice a Juan Alberto que es una
piltrafa que no tiene valor para recobrar el verdadero amor, destruyendo su
vida y la de la mujer que ama. Simona le arrebata a Juanito su cartita y trata
de dársela a Juan Antonio. Adolfo comenta con tristeza a Chelo que Juan Alberto
está convencido de que Elena es la culpable de la muerte de Ernesto. Paco trata
de complacer a Lumara en su intento por perjudicar a Ely , por lo que trama una
trampa para ella. Gustavo takes Elena’s case. Julio moves to L.A.
with his brother. Ely sees a doctor and learns she is dying, so she tells Luis
Pablo she can’t marry him because her career is too important. Poli and
Panchita agree to help her.
El Universal, 7/26/98. Juanito y su familia están felices
pues casi se ha recuperado del accidente que sufrió. Silvia es la única que no
se muestra contenta con el prometedor panorama del niño. Juan Alberto encuentra
a Elena e intenta besarla a la fuerza y luego la maltrata. Hugo siente que esta
en un grave aprieto, pues intuye que Juan Alberto lo trata de perjudicar por su
relación con Elena. Adolfo es el paño de lágrimas de Juan Alberto, quien jura
que dejará de cometer tantas tonterías. En un arranque de pasión y desenfado,
Hugo sujeta a Elena y le propina un tierno y apasionado beso que la deja
azorada, en ese momento Juan Alberto los descubre. Ely is kidnapped
by Paco by being tricked into thinking she is going on a modeling assignment.
The new cabaretera decides to help her. Juan Alberto arranges to have Hugo
transferred from the jail.
El Universal, 8/2/98. Juan Alberto está seguro de que Rebeca es incapaz
de mentir, por lo que deduce que Elena fue quien asesinó a Ernesto. La
Machin, dying of AIDS pneumonia, confesses to the director that Enedina lied
and wanted her to kill Elena. Silvia
contrata a una mujer, Enedina,
para que mate a Elena en la cárcel. La Machin dies. La directora firest
Enedina, who then knifes Elena and is arrested. Paco discovers the real
reason that Lumara wanted Ely kidnapped. Luis Pablo ha decidido enviar al extranjero a su hermano Oscar. Don Fermín
se impresiona al saber de la grave enfermedad que aqueja a su hija Ely , quien
está en peligro de muerte. Poli and Fermín rescue Ely. Juan Alberto está desconcertado pues no
sabe qué hacer ante la desesperación de Juanito por querer saber algo de Elena.
Posteriormente, le pregunta a Adolfo si Elena ha preguntado por él. Hugo se
entera que ya dieron fecha para el juicio de Elena y le propone que se casen. She
refuses. Talita tells Luis Pablo that Ely is dying; he finds her and she later
dies in his arms. He tells _____ he can’t marry her, even though Ely is dead,
because Ely is the woman he loves. Paco admits to Meyta that he truly loves
Lumara, although she hates him. The trial begins. Simona and Silvia lie.
Rebecca also lies at first but then recants and Elena is set free.
El Universal[8/9/98 en Mexico] Elena sale de prisión y no
sabe si corresponder al amor del doctor Hugo. Adolfo le pide a Hugo que se
asegure sobre los sentimientos de Elena para que ella no sufra más. Juan
Alberto corre de la casa a Silvia y ella le reprocha que actúe en su contra con
tanta maldad. Silvia kidnaps Juanito. He runs away. She has a car
accident which leaves one side of her face scarred. She seeks Lalo’s help. Elena decide casarse con Hugo. Elena y
Juan Alberto encuentran a Juanito. Gardenia is transferred to Sonora. Doña Luz se muere. Rebecca dice a Juan
Alberto que Ernesto confesó que nunca tocó a Elena; el fue impotente aquella
noche.
Hugo, after talking with Juan
Alberto, gives Elena her freedom to decide whom she really loves. Silvia gets
her face fixed, then makes a play for Hugo.
Meyta sees Paco
kill Lumara but says nothing. Raquel/Sylvia accepts Paco’s offer to front a
nightclub. He agrees to pay for her surgery and puts her up in an apartment.
Elena rejects Hugo’s attempt to kiss her in a park. Rebecca tells Elena what
Ernesto told her: that he did not molest her. She blames herself for how he
turned out. Chelo tries to convince Elena to forgive Juan Alberto. They learn that
Doña Luz has left them half of her money. Juanito gets pneumonia. Paco gets
Myrta to perform in his new club. Sylvia goes to Justo who performs her
surgery. She doesn’t recognize Hugo, nor he her (only in telenovelas!). Talita
throws a block party where Raisa comes and listens to her sing. Elena goes to
Juanito. Hugo finds her there and is angry. Lalo takes letter to Juan Alberto
from Sylvia saying she’ll give up all parental rights to Juanito if he drops
the kidnapping charges; he agrees. Hugo overhears Elena telling Chelo how much
she still loves Juan Alberto. Sylvia finds out where Hugo lives. Juan Alberto
asks Adolfo to join him in private practice. Juan Alberto talks to Hugo who
then gives Elena her freedom to choose. Juanito wakes up. Noemi calls from
Miami and says goddbye to Juan Alberto. Elena opens a clinic with Panchita as
her secretary.
Talita feels
left out and hides in the recording studio where Raisa finds her and agrees to
help her. Rebecca goes on a cruise with Jenny. Paco agrees to make Francis the
start of the show. Rosendo keeps an eye on Paco for sign of drugs. Myrta warns
Paco that the Czar of Panama is in town. Sylvia asks Lalo to put a private
detective on Elena, then has her surgery. She gets Hugo drunk and they make
love. He becomes obsessed with her. Elena and Talita decide to build a new
house. Adolfo faints and is hospitalized with an ulcer. Sylvia discovers that
Hugo loved Elena. Fermin meets a woman who owns a restaurant and decides to go
into business with her. Luis Pablo is still desolate. Myrta and Francis become
fast friends and take an instant dislike to Raquel.

MONDAY:
December 7, 1998. Sylvia tells Elena to stay away from Juan
Alberto and Juanito or she'll murder her. Elena tells her she's not afraid of a
woman like er. Hasn't she done enough damage. Sylvia says Juan Alberto made her
a woman and they loved each other passiontely, just ask him.Elena makes
everyone promise not to mention Sylvia's visit (more secrets?). She goes to the
hospital. Chelo says she's staying at JA's to care for Adolfo. E leaves for the
clinic. Elena is in her office when who comes in but Luis Pablo. She asks
him to treat her like a pschologist not friend. What brings him there, he's
depressed over Ely's death. Later, Elena calls Raisa to come in tommorrow to
talk about LP. That evening as
Elena's leaving JA's she goes into the library to say goodnight. He says that
everything has conspired to keep him there and he needs to speak with
her--Ruffina interrupts with a note from Sylvia recalling one of their
passionate moments together. He continues --he says they are in love he kisses
her. She turns her back to him and asks him not to play with her feelings. He
says he has one question, will she marry him. NO.
She won't. Is it Hugo? No, but he stood by her through her most difficult times
supporting her. He refused to accept her word, he didn't trust her. He's so
rigid, so moralistic. Does he think a woman's decency lies between her legs?
She was a victim of Ernesto's she deserved sympathy. Then he says you don't
forgive me. Yes she forgives but not forgets, because she could never count on
him. He says he's forgotten about the past. She says sure now that you know
nothing happened. He admits R told him. She says she is a decent woman. He can
sleep with dozens of women, married to a woman he told her for passion, and he
couldn't accept her having had one relationship. He says you didn't tell me you
had one with my brother. She says she was afraid of losing his love. He asks if she loves him. Yes, hopelessly.
He's the first and only man she will ever love but she can't marry him. He asks
if this is her last word, she says yes. Then he won't insist. (oh come on) Sylvia is planning the opening with Paco.
He's getting very obnoxious with the workers. He visits Dr. Sleaze and asks him
to come and bring a friend. Sylvia
drops by Hugo's office and they exchange kisses (looks like he was enjoying it
to me). She says she had made plans with a friend who cancelled, can they have
dinner? Okay. As she leaves Dr.S says your so lucky she's crazy about you. H
says he's going to straighten her out later. The
next day Hugo (in that yellow monstrosity again) tells his father he had a
date. He's happy because he says life is like a river you've got to keep
rolling along. Later Sylvia calls the office and says she's sick. He goes to
her apartment and finds her in a bubble bath. Elena
meets with Paully to sign Talita's contract to sing. As they leave he says he'd
like to give Elena a makeover so she can look more sensuous. She laughs at it.
Adolfo talks
with JA and asks about Elena. JA says he asked her to marry him and she
refused. She also told him thinks that left him thinking. He's not giving up. Fermin gets drunk and signs the papers to
become the woman's partner in the cafeteria. Chelo
and Adolfo are talking about having children. He wants to know how many she
would like. Enough to fill a minivan. They laugh. She says she has one wish, to
go to NYC to buy her trouseau and wedding dress. He thinks its a good idea. She
tells the girls the next day and they're excited. To be continued.....
TUESDAY:
December 8, 1998. Hugo finds Sylvia in the bubble bath. He
starts kissing her and the camera pans to the wall which is being splashed with
water (use your imagination if you dare). Later in bed she says she's obsessed
by him. He wonders how this could be even though he rejected her (think back
two weeks). She says he's handsome, intelligent and passionate, just what she likes
in a man. She says she's willing to settle for a relationship without strings,
She's home every afternoon and he agrees to see her tomorrow. Chelo asks her sisters to go to NYC together
to buy her trouseau and wedding dress. Talita of course is thrilled, but when
Elena says she's too busy to go Talita says it will be the last time they can
go as single women. Elena says she's not getting married. Both T and C assumed
that now that things are resolved she would marry JA. Elena says he asked her
but she said no. There were too many things he did to her. Her pride got in the
way. When she checks with her office she discovers she's had several
cancellations. She's mooning over JA and finally decides to go along with
C&T. She goes to her office to see Luis Pablo who she sends to another
psychologist. Then she tells her secretary to call Juanito and tell him she'll
take him to the park when she gets back. (she couldn't take a minute to call?)
Meanwhile Juan Alberto is telling Adolofo
he hired a consultant to finish the office and it will be done ahead of time.
He says Elena hasn't been around to see Juanito, it must be to avoid him. He's
determined to win her back, even if it takes the old fashioned techniques. He
goes out and orders the most exotic flowers available and tells the girl at the
register they are for his fiancee. Under her breath she says, "lucky
girl." Later he's looking for Elena and goes up to Aurorita's to ask if
she's seen her. Aurorita tells hiim she's in NYC. He's shocked and asks if she
knows why they went. She says Chelo went for her her trouseau and Elena had
been very sad lately. Why? Come on Mr. Juez, don't play dumb with me. JA has a
package he leaves with A. She tells him she returned the flowers which arrived
after E left. JA goes back home to discuss this with Adolfo. A says he knew C
& T were going but thought Elena had to work. Does he know the hotel? Yes
it's over there. You want me to get it (yes get off the throne). Adolfo pleads
he's sick. On the plane they've
encountered turbulance. Talita is excited but nervous, however does spot two
handsome men behind her. Chelo's nervous about the turbulance. Elena's just
thinking about JA, about how much she misses him, about his proposal. She says
he'll never ask her again.. One of the
two handsome men (now I think that might be Luis Hernandez el futbolista)are
flirting with the flight attendants. As Elena and Talita pass he eyeballs them
and on the return the turbulance knocks Elena off her feet into his waiting
arms.!! Francis is very depressed and
shares a quiet moment with Myrta before the show. She/he tells her not to
become involved with Paco, its trouble. She does her show and is a big hit.
Hugo comes as a guest of Dr. Justo Sleaze his partner but doesn't see Sylvia.
Afterwards he's thinking about Syvlia and says he's not worthy of Elena, he's
been unfaithful. Fermin's got to get the

WEDNESDAY: December 9, 1998. As the plane hits some turbulance Elena loses her balance
and a handsome stranger helps her and asks her to be seated next to him. he
introduces himself as Larry. The sisters are all nervous over the rough ride.
Elena rejoins them. Larry's seatmate returns and says that she's the first
woman to reject him. He overhears her say she's staying at the Royal Palace,
what a coincidence. they have a beautiful suite. Chelo makes a call to Adolfo and
he tells her that JA is headed to NYC but not to tell E. Room Service knocks
with a bottle of champagne from Larry. The
next morning as they leave for their shopping trip, Larry sees them in the
Lobby and Elena thanks him for the champagne. He kisses her hand just as Juan
Alberto walks in. JA invites her to lunch. She tells him she was on her way
shopping. He says enjoy the sales. Larry asks if its her boyfriend, she says no
just someone she loves. Chelo finds a
dress and they tell Elena to buy one too. Elena says JA is not going to ask
her, expecially after he saw Larry. Back at the hotel C and T run into L. Larry
tells them his family is in the hotel business - Royal Palace his hotel Talita
starts telling him her whole life story. Invites him to Chelo's wedding.
Elena's lunching with JA. Larry gets the Carvajal's address from the hotel and
makes plans to be in town for Chelo's wedding. His friend is surprised because
he usually doesn't show this much interest. Larry says Elena has something
different about her (I told you I want her perfume). At lunch JA said here he comes to NYC to find Elena in the
company of another man. He's having a drink and serious Elena is frowning. He's
jealous of Larry and Elena says he's just a pesado she met on the plane. JA
asks if he sent flowers (close enough). He says he came to ask her to marry
him. She's got to decide. He's leaving tomorrow and wants an answer by then. Paco's opening goes well until the Czar of
Panama shows up. He tells Paco he wants Myrta's contract torn up because he
will tell the police about Lumara's death if not. Myrta says leave him to her.
She's not going to be manipulated by him. Sylvia
and Hugo are becoming a hot item. She seems to have him under her spell. He
calls to apologize for missing her in the afternoon could he come in the
evening, She says no. He makes a date for the next afternoon. He tells his
father she's a very mysterious woman. His father says maybe that's just what
you need. Enjoy, God put her in your path (the Devil maybe). Later on Sylvia
and Hugo are in bed together again and he looks pretty enamored of her and is
caught up in her mysterious life. She won't divluge anything. Fermin goes to see Luis Pablo who tells him
he's seeing a pyschologist and wants to get beter. Fermin says you can't let
yourself go-he misses Ely too but life goes on. Just because one flower dies
doesn't mean Sping won't come again. Luis Pablo says he won't ever forget her.
Fermin says he was lucky to have true love onece in his life. Fermin also goes to see Adolfo about the
contract. Adolfo tells him until it's notarized he can cancel. Fermin's
thinking it over.
THURSDAY: December 9, 1998. Talita and Chelo are trying on their new
purchases when a dejected Elena returns to the hotel room (we don't get to see
her answer). Juan Alberto's on his way back to Mexico on the next flight. He's
jealous. Talita says Elena's a real heartbreaker, a femme fatale. Elena says
thats what Juan Alberto probably thinks, first Ernesto, then Hugo, then Larry!
You can't blame him for being jealous. But, She's not letting it spoil their
trip, they're going to have a good time. Chelo says Larry has offered them the
use of his limo, Elena says no way, I'm steering clear of Larry. The next day
we see them in the lobby, and they've walked five miles. Talita wants to go to
a movie and maybe some ice cream. Elena says you can see a movie in your room
and order room service. Larry overhears them, Talita runs over to say Hello and
tells Larry that JA, Elena's ex-novio took off for Mexico. C and E pull her
away (put a muzzle on her) and Larry's friend says the way is clear for you
now. Elena,
Chelo and Talita get back from NYC. Elena's got a new hairdo (Ivana Trump's
hairstylist must have done that one). Chelo looks pretty in a new suit. All the
neighbors including Aurorita greet them. Later Aurorita comes back and gives
her JA's gift. She says he had a great sadness in his eyes, just like Elena has
in hers. She opens the gift and it's a necklace. Elena asks what should she do.
Aurorita says, follow your heart. JA is
sitting in his study head in hand when who walks in but Elena. She says she
must listen to her heart. She loves him and will marry him (finally). Nothing
and no one will ever separate them says JA. She'd like to make some changes in
the house, whatever you say . He wants to get married right away, but they
agree on two weeks. He tells her whatever she says is fine with him (at last
he's proving to be good husband material). They go home to tell the girls and
they're very happy, Chelo hugs him and thanks him (for what?) and Talita
screeches her excitment. Chelo goes to
check out the new office. She wants to know if the secretaries are ugly. Adolfo
says they'll have to delay the wedding a couple of weeks because of a delay on
the house. The next day the the mansion Elena and Juan Alberto are planning the
wedding. JA has it all figured out with a garden ceremony and an inside reception.
Elena wants Aurorita to be her Godmother ( is this the same as the maid of
honor?) Juan Alberto picks someone else and for his godfather--Gustavo Linares.
Elena likes that idea. They call Juanito in and tell him. His prayers to the
Virgencita have been answered! Can he call her Mama? yes, he finally has a good
mother. The do a group hug (and even as annoyed as I am I smiled). Later Juan
Alberto shows Elena Sylvia's document where she relinquishes parental rights to
JA. He says he changed his will to make Juanito his only heir. He wants to
change it again to make Elena his legal gaurdian if anything should happen to
him (and you know it will). Myrta goes to see the Czar of Panama and
tells him she's pregnant and even Paco doesn't know it. She took the job to
come back to Mexico where the father is. He's disgusted with her and sends her
away. Later she tells Francis of her trick and Francis said to be careful since
she was a witness to Lumara's death she could be considered an acomplice. Paco's brother comes to visit and see the
show. Rocendo tells his boss he overheard Paco say he killed Lumara. He'll get
in trouble here too and theyl'll catch him. Hugo's
in deep doodoo. He's sexually addicted to Sylvia and can't stay away from her.
Justo tells him he looks tired and hasn't seen him around the office. He tells
him he feels trapped in a spider's web and can't separate himself from her, his
desire is too strong. Hugo tells Justo about the show he saw and says there's a
girl you'd be crazy for (drool drool). They go to the show and Justo thinks its
Francis and is quite embarassed when Hugo points out its a he. Sylvia sees him
from the wings and quickly writes down a note to Hugo: Come and see me after
the show handsome--Signed Francis. He leaves in a hurry and says he'll never
come back. The next day Hugo finds out
(they don't say how) that Elena will marry Juan Alberto. She's so happy and
he's let himself be dragged into Sylvia's prison. Sylvia calls and demands he
come right over, he tries to stall for later, but she says if you don't come
now don't bother. Like a good little boy he runs over. They're in bed and
Sylvia says she notices some change in him. He says he heard Elena's getting
married. To who demands Sylvia. You wouldn't know him, Juan Alberto Montiel .
Sylvia's fuming. To be continued.......
FRIDAY:
December 11, 1998. Hugo asks
Sylvia if she knows Juan Alberto. She tells him to leave. He wants some answers
after she's calmed down. She says she won't let her get away with it. Hugo
tells Justo Sylvia acted very stangely. It's as if she knew JA. He's got to
find out. Sylvia goes to see Paco. Asks him to help her. He asks why. She tells
him everything, name, married to JA, woman took away son and husband. Who is
this woman? Elena Carvaja.
Chelo's sister? Yes. What a coincidence. Because of Chelo he was in
jail. He'd like to take vengeance. He hates the Carvajal sisters. Together
they'll detroy them. Sylvia's got a plan. Hugo goes to see Sylvia but the maid
says she's not home. He tries to stay but she says she doesn't want to see him.
Hugo's father goes to Justo and asks about Hugo. He's never around. Justo says
he's not coming into the office. Father says he's worried. Hugo shows up later
and Justo tells him he has a patient who's a friend of JA. He told him that
Raquel is really Sylvia, Juan Alberto's ex esposa. (Turn the gas on and open
the door, Hugo's ready to croak). Back at
the mansion: Elena tells Chelo she's sorry she didn't get a dress in NY. Elena
says she's got a lot of shopping to do, furniture, linens, tablecloths, come
let me show you what I'm changing in the study, not the study says JA as she
pulls him away with her (nice domestic scene). Erika (JA godmother) is speaking
with her son about the wedding and asks him to accompany her. Adolfo is taking
all of JA papers and business to take care of including the will. Adolfo
mentions that a woman called for him there today and he recognized the voice as
Sylvia's. No, it couldn't be she doesn't have this number. Elena is packing for her honeymoon. She and
Chelo are admiring the new bedroom furniture and linens. Phone rings, Juan
Alberto mi amor, who? Oh is JA there? never mind. Sylvia calls. Elena is
worried about it. Raisa is happy LP is
better and says she's taken up with her childhood sweetheart. In comes Talita
and Paully. Talita is making some cd's and it's going very well.
USA, 12/14
& 15/98 - Raquel tells Paco her real identity and disappears from
Hugo’s life. He goes looking for her. Two weeks pass. Justo discovers that
Raquel is Sylvia and tells Hugo. Juan
Alberto and Elena wed; Erica es la madrina. Su hijo Alejandro le gusta Elena. Juan
Alberto is kidnapped after the ceremony, but nobody knows anything except that
he has gone.
Adolfo and Chelo
get married.
MONDAY
December 21, 1998. Anna Rosa. summarized. Elena gets a tape and letter in which Juan Alberto tells her he
married her only to shame her for rejecting him, that he is returning to
Sylvia. Rebecca comes home and doesn’t believe it. Nor does Adolfo. Hugo shows
up and tells her that his girfriend Raquel was Sylvia. He is sure she has
somehow tricked Juan Alberto. Larry tells Elena he wants to be just a friend,
although he tells his friend that is just to make her comfortable. Talita goes
out with Leo. Chelo learns from a fertility specialist that she is ok. Rosendo
injects Juan Alberto with the drugs Lalo got; he awakes confused. Sylvia has
Severio take her to Mexico City. Meyta and Francis plan to talk to Asencio and
Hugo. Paco finds out that Asencio has been noseying around the theatre, talking
to Francis. Paco tells Francis not to speak to Asencio and tells Nestor to kill
Asencio. Sylvia goest to see Paco. Nestor says he has Asencio’s address. Meyta
meets Hugo and tells him she overheard Paco say that Sylvia’s got Juan Alberto
sequestered on a Ranch Estrella and plans to kill him.
TUESDAY
December 22, 1998. Anna Rosa. summarized. Myrta tells Hugo that
Paco is an assasin but has helped her and never asked anything in return, so
she won’t turn him in. Ausencio goes to see Francis at his home where they
discuss Sylvia and Paco. Francis’s mother overhears, they quarrel, he leaves
for good. Hugo loooks for Ausencio but can’t find him. Francis goes to Myrta’s.
That night Nestor kills Ausencio. Hugo talks to Justo about the situation;
Justo tells him to forget it, it’s too dangerous. Hugo finds the dead Ausencio.
Sylvia tells Paco she needs an attorney to draw up divorce papers. Lalo tells
Rosendo he doesn’t know why Sylvia does what he does. Talita talks with Elena.
Chelo tells Adolfo about her visit to the gyn; he insists that there can’t be
anything wrong with him. Erika and Rebecca have tea and the former tells the
latter that her son is dating Talita and she’s worried because he has a
reputation ala Ernesto. Raisa sees Talita and Leo at a night club and tells her
that he is bad news.
WEDNESDAY
December 23, 1998. Anna Rosa. summarized. Larry has dinner with Elena and Juanito. He also talks with
Sylvia. Sylvia gives Elena the divorce papers signed by Juan Alberto. She tells
Elena to move, that she is going to sell the house but Elena can keep Juanito.
Elena tells Risitas she is going away and will be closing her office. Raisa
tells Elena that Leo is a creep who preys on young girls, telling them he will
promote them then putting them on the street. Justo helps Hugo find the address
of Rancho Estrella from Paco. Myrta talks to Francis’s mother, tells her she
has a wonderful son and should be grateful. Adolfo tells Chelo he will get
checked. Checlo and Aurorita decide to invest in a flower shop. Juan Alberto
escapes but is captured again. When he wakes up, he remembers his past but
doesn’t know where he is.
USA, 12/28/98:
Myrta tells Francis that she is going back to Cuba and leaves 2 letters, one
for Paco, one with the truth. Sylvia tells all she plans to make love to Juan
Alberto one last time then kill him. Larry wants to marry Elena.
USA, 12/29/98:
Elena tells Chelo about the divorce papers. She plans to go away with Juanito.
Francis and his mother reconcile. The police somehow know that Juan Alberto has
been kidnapped. They arrest Paco’s men and he kills himself. Then they go to
the rest where Juan Alberto has escaped from a sleeping Sylvia. She goes after
him with a gun but Hugo arrives and is shot instead. Juan Alberto takes Hugo to
the hospital where he is operated on and should live. Elena has lunch with
Larry.
USA, 12/20/98:
Hugo recovers. Elena, Juanito and Larry go on a trip. Juan Alberto discovers
that his home has been sold and that Elena has gone. Sylvia becomes a street
person. Talita is reconciled with her agent and her record is a hit. Raisa is
engaged to an old sweetheart who has recently turned up. Adolfo and Chelo
decide not to worry about who can/can’t have children. Aurorita goes to work in
the restaurant and becomes good friends with the blond...leaving Fermin sort of
alone with the two of them. Luis Pablo is alone, but is a star. Juan Alberto
hires a boat, catches up with Larry’s yacht and produces a telegram from
Adolfo, Chelo and Hugo confirming his story. The two are reconciled and will
live happily ever after.
